Who are those little girls in pain,
Just trapped in castle on dark side of moon?
Twelve of them shining bright in vain,
Like flowers that blossom just once in years.
They're dancing in the shadows like whispers of love,
Just dreaming of place where they're free as dove.
They've never been allowed to love in this cursed cage.
It's only the fairy tale they believe...
* * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * *~Yuki Kajiura

Long ago, in a land called Fuuka, twelve maidens were called to battle.* Strange creatures not found on this world had terrorized the land for some time, striking fear in the hearts of men.* But these maidens were unafraid for their own lives as they fought for those they loved.* It was said that these maidens could see the red star, Ikusahime, and were given its mark allowing them to harness unimaginable powers in the form of weapons and beasts.* Though their lives were brief, they were able to beat back these creatures, sending returning to whence they came.*

Now, hundreds of years later, the Ikusahime star burns brightly in the sky once again.* Twelve new maidens, twelve new HiMEs, must take up the mantle and fight against the darkness once more.* But is that all there really is to the tale?

With this fable in motion, the twisted future that the star casts upon us all now set, it's only appropriate to call such a bizarre and ludicrous series of events a "Carnival." As the HiME begin to gather, unintentionally, in the land of Fuuka once again, they will be driven by fate to protect our sheer existance. Whether conscious or oblivious of their abilities as a princess of Ikusahime, only time can tell what destiny awaits them.

By one method or another, you, a HiME, have ended up at Fuuka Gakuen, a rather prestigious acadamy in Japan. As a student, new or old, or a member of the faculty, you have reason enough to be joining the fine staff of the school. What the curriculum holds for you this year is unknown, but what can be said for sure is that a sinister phenomenon is about to befall the land of Fuuka yet again. What dangers can be expected? What fate has Earth been bound to? And how can the actions of twelve young girls effect all of this...?

Now!! Let's get this party started! *dances*

Name: Uzaki Maiyuki (She prefers to be called Yuki)
Age: 15
Physical Appearance: Yuki is girl of rather average stature, standing at about 5'5". Her hair is shoulder length and a dark, dirty blonde in color. Her eyes are a rich brown with a determined profoundness seem to say "I'm not afraid" in almost any situation. The rest of her body is proportioned quite well, having a decent chest size and and slightly longer legs than her body.
School Uniform: She wears Fuuka Gakuen's traditional Orange Uniform (Longsleeve and Sleeveless) with pure white stockings. She wears a red bead bracelet on her right wrist at all times. (A promise bracelet given to her by her friend Ami. Yuki gave her a blue one as well.)
Casual Outfit: On warm days, she can usually be seen wearing a halter top of a darker color that crosses in the front before tying behind the neck. Many of them have sarcastic or witty word/phrases written on the front in Kanji and show a couple inches of her midriff. Her pants are normally a pair of lightly faded, capri-length jeans that sit comfortable on her hips. She also wears a pair of straped sandles. During the colder seasons, her outfit changes to various solid-color sweaters and full-length jeans. She wears a pair of white tennis shoes instead.
Personality: Rather outgoing, usually saying aloud what's on her mind with little regard to other people. Although this may drive some people away from her, most appreciate it because they know that she is always being honest. She's not very good at keeping secrets, so this whole HiME thing is a real burden on her sometimes. She's light-hearted and usually pleasant to be around. Thankfully, she's not as energetic as most people with those traits. She doesn't exactly excel at school and learning, but she has a powerful ambition that just refuses to let her give up on anything. Yuki enjoys taking the time out to spend her leisure hours with friends or family, especially with her best friend, Ami Kazoe (another student at the Acadamy).
Element: Techigai
Child: Kagutsuchi
Location of Birthmark: Just above her waitline on the right.
Relationships: Childhood friends with Ami Kazoe (a rather peppy and loving brunette), the two of them have done and shared just about everything with each other. Is friends with Aya, and becomes close to Iyako during the course of the RPG as well.
History: Yuki has lived in Fuuka since she was born. Her father is the owner of a nice size electronic's store downtown. Her mom stays at home with her grandfather and takes care of the housework. Since the Fuuka Acadamy is the closest school to Yuki's home, it was rather easily to decide on where she would be going to schooling as the time became appropriate. From time to time, depending on school and business, she will go and work at the store with her dad. There's no uniform, but the dress code requires her to wear khakis and a normal T-shirt.
Other: Ummm... *poke* ^_^;

:\\ Uzaki Maiyuki /|\ Kagutsuchi //:

“Yuki-dear...,” A voice echoed from downstairs. “Yuki!” I boomed louder. “MAIYUKI!!” I stiffened and sat straight up in my bed. Startled, I rolled over to check my digital clock.

“9:00 already!?! God!” I flipped the sheets off myself and leapt out of bed, “I hope I have enough time...” Today was the first day of school, but I had to make a couple stops before I got there first. I had forgotten several vital supplies for the year and had to make a stop at the corner store before heading to the commencement ceremony. “Sorry, dad! I’m coming!” I threw what I already had prepared for school into my brown backpack and snatched my uniform off the hanger in my half-opened closet. But in the instant I touched the fabric of the outfit, a memory flashed before my eyes; a recurring dream that had been haunting me all summer long...

A cavern hidden from the view of everyone except me. Inside is a small raised platform with 10, no... 11 short, pillar-like stones sticking about a foot out of the altar. There are tribal patterns and symbols drawn in whites, blues, and greens everywhere in this chamber and the entire room is filled with an aura of magic and power that subliminally draws me here. Suddenly, a voice echoes from somewhere, calling me, tempting me, “Maiyuki, Mai...Hime...”

“MAIYUKI UZAKI! Get down here now! I’m leaving!” Dad was shouting at me again. He, or my mom, always interrupted that dream, never letting me finish it. I always wondered that maybe I wasn’t supposed to finish it either.

I shook the images from my head and hurriedly dressed myself, throwing my pajama top aside and putting my orange uniform on. Thankfully it was simple: a white dress shirt and an orange vest with a white border. I quickly slung my bag over my shoulder and scampered down the stairs and into the kitchen where granddad was sitting at the table drinking a cup of tea and dad was waiting at the door where he could wish me a “Good day.” But today, I was in too much of a hurry! I chugged down a glass of orange juice and raced out the door. I heard dad say something as the kitchen door shut, “Yuki! You forgot to-”

“I’m going to get it on my way! Seeya!” My words all slurred together as I ran out of the yard and down the sidewalk as fast as my legs could carry me.

“I was going to tell her she forgot her skirt, but it’s too late now.” Dad sighed as mom chuckled a little from behind the island in the middle of the kitchen.

Thankfully, I knew the corner drug store carried school supplies. They were cheap, but they always seemed to last longer than the brand-name stuff. But I was a little uncomfortable in the store. People were staring at me strangely and, sometimes, even giggling. I didn’t have the time to worry now, but I’d contemplate it at the ceremony.

I ran down the aisle with the supplies and located the shelves that held hundreds of folders and binders. “I need two of these ones and a couple of these too!” I grabbed them and headed back to the front of the store where the check out was located. But as I turned at the end of row, I soon found myself, and someone else as well, on the floor! “Augh...Ouch. Oh, Ami! You picking up some last-minute supplies too?”

“Yeah, I was! But are you on your way to school?” She asked, holding back a bit of a laugh.

“Well, duh! Of course I am! Why wouldn’t I be?” I found her question rather peculiar for the time it was already.

“You still kinda have your PJ bottoms on!” She pointed at my pants and started laughing hysterically!

“I have WHAT!?!” I looked down at the long, hunter green pajamas pants I still wore on my bottom half. I started to laugh, but it wasn’t quite the emotion for the situation. “Damn! I guess I’ll just have to wear them to school... I don’t have much of a choice now!”

We picked ourselves up and quickly made it to the register. “God! My cash is in my skirt!”

“Don’t worry about it, Yuki. I got you covered.”

“Thanks, Ami! I owe you!” I told her as she paid for my folders as well as her own set of supplies. “I guess we should hurry though!” The two of us scurried out the door and towards the school again.

As we approached the school, it could be seen that hundreds of chairs were set up in the school’s courtyard for Director Rokugan’s speech. We quickly took up a pair of open seats on the outside edge of the massive setup. I turned to look at the student next to me and found it to be Aya, a friend I had ironically made over the summer. “You made it just in time. But,” She stopped. I followed her eyes down to my pajamas, “I see you finally decided to do something...different?”

“Yeah... I was in a hurry, so shut up...” I furrowed my brow a little and she gave a snort, trying to hold back a bit of laughter.

Before we could say another word, Koyuki Rokugan, the administrator of the entire academy cleared his throat in the microphone...

In your first post, please include waking up (or whatever your character might be doing in the morning), doing any last-minute preparations for school, and getting to the courtyard before (or after >.>) the start of the Director's speech.

Name: Mudo, Freya
Age: 18
Physical Appearance: [See Attachment Below] Her eyes are sky blue however.
School Uniform: The 15-18, sleeveless green female uniform.
Casual Outfit: She would wear the outfit shown in her pic. If you can't see it, it's an orange tank-top with a flowy, slightly creamy white skirt. She wears this with light brown sandals and always has a silver necklace about her neck, with a seemingly broken ringlet, that a hole had been carved into the thick band for the necklace.
Personality: She’s what anyone in their right mind would call… a dreamer. She’s whimsical and likes to think up fantasies, which often causes her to daydream in inappropriate places. Despite being a dreamer, she tries her best to please others and to do things correctly. She’s a romantic… which comes hand-in-hand from being a dreamer, so she tends to fall for some one… but she falls hard. She’s very loyal and doesn’t like gossip, and doesn’t like to tell others much about her own feelings on things- afraid of either hurting them or discrimination herself. She’s quite mysterious.
Element: Duel-Ended Dagger
Child: Toad (gags)
Location of Birthmark: *giggles* Her’s is on her … ummm… right side of her chest, upon the top side. It would be exposed if she showed a bit of cleavage. *sniggers*
Relationships: She knows a lot of people, being soft-spoken and a good listener. She is quite fond of… *ahem* Koyuki Rokugan, but feels slightly embarrassed about it. (So many other girls like him, that she feels like it is hopeless and rather silly.) [Other Relations are welcomed]
History: Freya was born to a rather unbalanced family. Her father and mother were constantly fighting, and while her mother had attended Fuuka and graduated, her father was born to a wealthy family and inherited a rather wealthy fortune and the empire to a well-to-do business. Tragically, like all things seem, they both died in an airplane accident. The only heir to the empire, Freya was too young to inherit the business yet so the heads of the company took it over, and she was due to inherit it as soon as she graduated from Fuuka. She lives alone in her estate, having a nanny of course. She went to Fuuka, because her mother went there and because it was better to be there then alone in the memories of her parents. She’s very sociable at Fuuka, mostly because she knows everyone and listens very well to them. She offers advice when people ask of it, and she’s pretty good at it to. She never talks about the death of her parents, and actually she’s done pretty well to keep the ‘low down’ about the company and such. No one would guess much about her history, based on her ‘hide my feelings and pretend everything is okay’ stature.
Other: She is quite fond of music and is a talented singer.

Mudo, Freya[color=royalblue]

"If you're heart is laid upon a string... you can fly so high... but once again.. if you shall fail, you'll be cut so you can fall from the sky..." A singing voice rang out clear in the sky, a shrill-like tone that seemed deeply beautiful. It was soft, moaning and strangely nostalgic. I stood at the edge of the sea, the waves lapping gently against my toes as I stared out at an island. The moon was strung in the sky... being full and bright, just as the sun was dangling down under the earth's horizon. It was a battle of light and darkness... and that strange yet beautiful voice cried out above the mumbling waves. I felt pulled to it... the music was so sweet... so bitter... it was everything and nothing at the same time...
"We're going down! Hold on!"
"Oh my god!"
Flashes of lightning streaked across the airplane windows.
" No... no! No!!!" A little girl running across the tile.. her feet bleeding as she fled.
" ...if you shall fail, you'll be cut so you can fall from the sky..."
Dir. Rokugan... Koyuki ... images of him walking outside of the grounds...
Then there were 11 figures... the airplane... the voice...
" ... fall from the sky..."
"Miss. Mudo? Mudo?"
"Mudo?"

My eyes snapped open as I practically gasped upwards, clutching my hand to the right side of my chest. My heart was pounding, thundering into my ribcage with such a tremendous force that I was surprised I could not hear it. Glancing to the side of my bed, there was Lily. I fondly called her Lily-chan... and she used to be my nanny. Now however, since I was older she had become a maid in the household. Although she lived here and ate here, she was still titled as a maid. I didn't like calling her that.... she had helped raise me and guide me through life, the idea that I had superiority over her was some thing I did not think about. Only the heads of the company ever thought that... and maybe her, but she knew how I felt about it.
"Please Lily... call me Freya." I stated cooly, my breath slowing down a bit as she gently walked towards the side of my room. She pulled apart the satin-like curtains to reveal the sun's rays peaking over the horizon.
" It isn't proper, Miss Mudo." She said with a soft smile, glancing over at me with her old and kind eyes. " You were having that same dream again... I heard you. However, your breakfast is ready. I suggest you eat before you practice your lessons again." She then gave a short bow, and walked out.
Lily was always so short with her messages... it was rather sincere and yet it bothered me. I wanted her as my friend more than anything, but she would never accept that. It made me wonder why... what possibley in the past could have made her that way. At least she seemed happy.

Getting up softly, I slowly approached the cherry oak doors of my closet, and opened them up. Walking into it I browsed through until I came to my uniform. Today was the first day of school... and while it was a new day, my schedule didn't seem to change much in the morning. I always woke up at dawn- reguardless of nightmares, dreams or how late I stayed up at night. I'm not sure why... although I had a hypothisis in mind. I always woke up at dawn and attended my morning lessons of singing. I was the one who insisted on keeping my singing lessons even with school... and I always wanted them early in the morning. That was when your voice was at its worse, and if I worked from there it could only improve as the day went on. Breakfast some times was optional... but no doubt Lily thought it was essential for the first day of school.

Taking off my dress-like sleeping attire, I easily put on my short-sleeved green uniform. I hated the long-sleeved uniforms... for some reason, no matter how light others thought them to be, I was too hot wearing them. Even during the cooler winter season... it was always a pain for me. After I had put on my uniform, I quickly brushed my hair and then guided myself downstairs. It always took a little bit of walking to reach the main kitchen... for the house wasn't exactly small. I could remember times when my parents would invite many guests and they'd all be sleeping in their mansion, with room to spare. That was always strange... remembering how the guests would be loud or would pop out of rooms that were usually vacant. Strange it was, but I always had liked it. It was rather exciting to meet new people from around the world... and my parents, although they fought, were both strong advocates for believing that you should know as much about the world as possible.

" Eat up. " Lily said lightly, as I nodded and sat down politely. It was an American dish today... and it looked faithfully unhealthy but yet, I had to admit I liked it. Lily liked to cook themed meals... always cooking too much and always cooking with different themes. Some times it was Indian food, Greek, Italian, or of course... our native dishes. But even they were themed... it made every meal rather pleasantly surprising. Of course we used to have a different cook, but since I was usually the only one living in this house besides her... she was the cook for now. If we ever needed any more hire, I could easily get some one. But cooking was Lily's favorite thing to do. We did have gardeners outside... to take care of the rather large complex gardens and a few more maids to keep the basic dusting and vacuuming done, but other then that there wasn't nearly as many people as their used to be. None of them lived in the mansion either. It was rather lonely at times.

" It was delicious Lily, thank you." I said with a small polite smile, giving a nod as I stood upwards and brought my dishes to the sink. Then I bid her farewell and headed down to the Western Wing. I entered the very first door to find my musical haven, my absolute favorite place to go to. It was perfectly designed for solo performances- small ones- and was an ideal place to practice. The room and more importantly, ceiling, were designed to amplify sound. Many instruments were tucked away in the neat storage compartments of the room and there was a Grand Piano, waiting to be played. There were three more rooms like this however... each one geared towards a more specific genre or type of musical task. I loved music, and my parents loved it as well. It was their forte and it became mine... although they claimed my talent came from my Grandfather more than either of them. I didn't think I had an incredible amount of talent... I just thought perhaps I practiced so much that it became like one.
I didn't practice with any instructor... I designed my own lessons, based on what my instructor used to give me. Of course I took musical classes and individual lessons at Fuuka, but I liked to do my own in the morning. It was there I liked to try writing more pieces... today, I had an idea.

"That song... that song I keep hearing... I have to write it down." I glanced to my bag- I had prepacked the night before and placed it in this room so I wouldn't forget. Perhaps I should just write it down in one of the notebooks, so perhaps I can show it to my instructor to see if he had heard of this song? I had never dreamt up a song before... so I doubted it was anything new.
If you're heart is laid upon a string... you can fly so high... but once again.. if you shall fail, you'll be cut so you can fall from the sky...
I wrote down the words, and then plucked away at the keys in the piano. It took just a little bit of time before I figured out the notes that matched. I wrote those down as well below the words in a second draft.
"I wonder... if I could sing it..."
I thought, closing my eyes until I focused upon that single part in my dream. It was always fuzzy when I tried to recall it... although the words were clear, the notes were clear, the way that voice was... the beauty of it... was always a mystery to me. I could never remember exactly how it had been. I also, had never tried singing it.

Standing up and grabbing my bag, I thought better than to sing that song. For some reason... I felt as if I wasn't ready to sing it, or even attempt to sing it. I wanted to though... I felt a strange calling and lingering craving to sing just even one note... one word...
"No." I said outloud. My gut told me to wait.

Exiting the room, I headed towards the door. Fuuka wasn't too far... and I prefurred to walk. It was healthy and I had plenty of time.

So I began to walk... taking in the beautiful morning and of course, thinking about that song. I hadn't told anyone about it... that I kept having dreams about that song. It was if it were important... but I couldn't fathom why. My thoughts danced and drifted around that idea, until suddenly I was snapped loose from my thoughts by a voice.
"Freya!" My eyes drifted over to see one of my friends, and I smiled gently and gave a nod a wave. I was at Fuuka now, and before me was the big gathering where Dir. Rokugan would be speaking.
I swallowed, that thought suddenly causing my stomach to turn and my throat to tighten.
At least I'd be in a huge mass of students... i'ts not like he'd look at me or anything.
With THAT thought... came some relief, so I walked over towards where the voice had called me. She was sitting on the outside, towards the front but I didn't really care where I sat.
"Hi! Great morning, isn't it?" I said lightly with a cheerful smile upon my face.

[ Anyone can be that 'friend' or 'group of friends' who called her. ^_^ She knows just about everyone. ]

Roy Karrde

Name: Tange, Aya
Age: 13
Physical Appearance: She’s not exactly what you would call muscular even though her personality would say other wise, she has some muscles but none that you would actually see outwardly. She has light brown hazel eyes and tan skin. She has dark brown hair that is cut around her head in a upward U shape with the longer tips of her air coming down just below her jaw on the sides of her face and is shorter as it goes upward along the side of her face till it meets just at the top of the back of the neck. Her clothes cover up her curves and small b cup chest. She’s about five feet two inches.
School Uniform: * this has been okayed by Tsukasa * She wears a baggy orange male 15-18 top and white undershirt that she stole from an older boy, the top really doesn’t fit her but she wears it as like a trophy. Although she does wear the girl 13-14 skirt with white socks.
Casual Outfit: She wears a pair of her brother’s old pants meaning they are usually pretty dirty with holes and the knees and the bottoms frayed. She wears a very baggy dark green shirt that looks like it would more likely fit a fifteen-year-old boy than her. She also wears a old dirty silver locket that she keeps hidden underneath the shirt, and that is her most prized possession.
Personality: She never really was taught how to be a girl, everything she knows she learned from her older and very violent older brother. So now she will kick, punch, spit, fight, or bite anyone that will get in her way. She will seek out fights when she feels like it and can be seen as very violent. Inwardly she is very jealous of people with long term friendships, she wants one desperately but doesn’t know how to create one, and her very violent nature can sometimes be a deterrent to a lot of people.
Element: Longbow
Child: Vlas
Location of Birthmark: It’s a bit above her hip on her left side, about two or three inches above her hip.
Relationships: She is very very close to her brother, and does not really know her father. She cares a lot about Yuki * Uzaki Maiyuki * after saving her from a fight, but doesn’t really know how to progress any friendship with her, which hurts her everyday.
History: She believes that her mother and older sister died when she was three, in reality they took off leaving her, and her brother. Her father was never around so that he could provide for them. So she has always looked up to her brother like a father, he in turn got into some fights in school and progressed to crime as he got older and got more and more dangerous friends. Her grandmother wanting to save Aya from ending up just like her brother, pulled some strings and got her into Fuuka Gakuen in hopes that she would meet some friends there that would help straighten her out.

Tange, Aya

Seven…oh…one…yeah it’s about time to get up. I squinted at the clock that I held in my hands as the electronic numbers changed, causing a shrill buzzing to be released from the tiny hand held box. “School time” I sighed rising up out of bed and fishing around for my uniform in the pile of clothes along the side of my bed. Those clothes consisted of my clean clothes, the clothes on the left side of my bed were my dirty clothes, it was a simple system that didn’t require much work, and the system worked for me. I liked to enjoy the sheer uniqueness of my uniform; not many girls had the ability to take the shirt of one of the biggest upperclassmen and not be romantically involved with him.

“Hey twit, are you up?” Noriaki asked before barging into my room. The guy seriously had a problem knocking. Of course he believed what ever was mine, was his, and what ever was his, I needed to stay away from. He quickly went to work at my dresser and began fishing through my stuff before grabbing a comb.

“So they actually let you back into school?” I glared while putting the undershirt on followed by the top. “Usually they try and keep felons out of the public school system” I smirked trying to add a bit of sting to it.

“Yeah, well we all can’t have grandma paying our way into a rich private school” He continued to walk around my bed room and combing his hair before finally arriving back at my dresser. “You better watch out, mom went to a private school and look how she turned out, of course I guess you were always destined to be just like her, a drunk tramp” Gripping the brush in one of his short rages he threw it across the room sending it shattering into the picture of mom that I had set up on my nightstand.

“Get out” I rose up balling my hands into fists.

“Sis, you can’t take me” He whipped around landing his fist on the side of my face, dropping me to my knees. “You have to get to your rich school, so you better hurry” He finally said after a few seconds of both of us glaring at each other.

Biting my lower lip to try and quell my anger, I slowly got up and walked over to the picture. It hadn’t been the first time he had tried to break mom’s picture, and I doubt it would be the last. Dusting the shards of glass off of the picture I quickly slid it back underneath my bed. At least it wasn’t dad who found out about the picture. I would have received a much worse punishment than a quick slap in the face if he knew.

Looking over at the clock I noticed that a good thirty minutes had now passed; even though we had a half-day today, I still wanted to get there early. I grabbed my backpack and took a few quick swipes with my brush to make my hair look moderately normal; I wasn’t too big into trying to make myself look pretty, just normal. Yuki promised to try and make me more girlish; I told her I would kill her if she tried. That was the last thing I needed right now, becoming girlish would just make me a bigger target for everyone.

Taking a quick jog down the steps of our little shack of a house, I turned in the direction of the school and began the long hour-long walk it would take to get there. If I was lucky, Yuki would already be there and I wouldn’t look that lonerish. If she wasn’t I would find ways to entertain myself. Usually though that involved violence.

On my walk to school I usually got a chance to reflect, remembering what my life was like before coming here, how grandma didn’t want me to end up in jail. The way that I met Yuki and helped her that one day. I guess I owe Yuki a debt that I would never really be able to pay off, if it wasn’t for her, and keeping me out of half the fights I got in. I most likely would be kicked out of this school and be back in public schooling.

Of course I would never tell her that, I had to make her think that her and I were just friends, and not even close friends. I couldn’t have close friends, I didn’t really make up an excuse yet why, but I couldn’t.

Anyway around nine I finally made it to the school, it seemed that there was a big speech or something. The whole courtyard of chairs seemed to give that away. Maybe if I paid a bit of attention to the announcements I would know what the chairs were for. I made my way through the chairs before finally finding one and waited and waited until Yuki showed up.

“You made it just in time. But” I looked curiously at her as she took a seat next to me. “I see you finally decided to do something…different?” I gestured making mention to how I always told her that she needed to work on her outfit to make it different like how I have an older boy’s top outfit.

“Yeah…I was in a hurry, so shut up…” She frowned, I tried to stifle a laugh and looked away from her as quickly as I could to try and calm myself. The administrator cleared his throat at the microphone and began to speak.

“So do you want me to get you a skirt?” I asked making a fist and a punching motion as I began to look around for possible targets.

“No, I’m fine” She replied in a very hush tone. My shoulders sagged a bit, and I sat back to hear the annoying man talk. I felt as if I should help Yuki, but usually helping her meant violence. Which caused Yuki to not want my help. In the end it was this whole annoying circle that we would go back and forth arguing in. I really just didn’t have the patience for that today.

Name: Nagi
Age: 25
Physical Appearance: If anyone knew Nagi from the show, then they would realize how much his appearance has changed. Instead of the short, messy hair given to him from the show, his lightblue/grayish hair is now fairly combed with long bangs combed to the left side (on his view), covering his left eye most of the time. He is taller, but still has a scrawny build; his eyes are his usual cunning, slit sized eyes. He now typically has a cigarette in his mouth and has small, square sized specs for the sole purpose of the "evil glare".
Casual Outfit: They are the same as his clothes in the show, as I think his outfit is fine and I am too lazy to make a writeup on it. tongue http://www.sunrise-inc.co.jp/my-hime/web/character/chara/nagi.html
Personality: Quick witted and elusive, he is fairly hard to understand, though he seems to be helping the HiMEs out. He has taken the role of a japanese literature teacher at the school, but is very irresponsible at that role and usually has substitutes in his spots whereas he goes out to do... whatever. One thing is known for sure, though; he seems to understand the HiMEs and their purpose very well.
Element: Book!! Yes I get a book!! HAHA >:O
Child: He has no child, but has a unique ability to "detect" demonlike monsters called Orphans, which the HiMEs are usually called upon to destroy. Consequently, he also can warn people about Orphans and who's being endangered because of them...
Relationships: HE BOWS DOWN TO THE GREAT... oh wait you're not supposed to know that yet.
History: He's been popping up and around the school, and to redirect the suspicion that he might be up to something, he has taken the role of a teacher. Not much is understood about him beyond that he appears almost whenever a child is summoned and helps out those who do not have their child yet in obtaining their powers, whether they want their powers or not.
Other: For the pure reference of those who do not realize that I am not a HiME, Nagi is a male character.

Nagi
===
"Hime... My... Hime..." Aah, a beautiful view from the school rooftops. Students steadily streaming in, ready for their first days in school... joy, excitement, frustration, anger... yes, there will be all of these.
But not as they will expect them to be.
I looked toward the moon, a red dot glowing steadily, larger and larger, seen only by those gifted with special powers. It will only be time until the festival begins... but for the time being... we must make sure NOTHING goes wrong...
"Eh?" Something... already seemed to be going wrong... I looked to my side and noticed there was a bit of smoke coming from a particular building quite some distance from here... I couldn't quite make out what the building was, but I think....
----
"YUMI!!! TERADA YUMI!!!" I was relieved that she had not gone to the ceremony yet, but instead was walking casually in the hallways, possibly on her way there. She turned to see who was calling her, then put one of her hands on her hips, as if disappointed with what she saw.
"What do you want, Nagi? Shouldn't you be at the ceremony?"
"Eh? You know my name..." A bit surprising to me as I was new around here.
"Yes. Nagi, wandered around the school here for quite a while, then suddenly recieved a position as one of the faculty here? Quite suspicious in my eyes..."
"Right... Wait!! There's no time for that!! You're sister!! She works at the research facilty to the east of this school, right??"
"My sister?!? How do you know about my sister..." Yumi replied, shocked that I knew as much about her as she knew about me.
"You're sister is in danger!! There's smoking coming out of the research facility and I thought I saw something else..."
"Don't you DARE make up nonsense about my sister and her research, she would have definately contacted me..."
"LOOK!!!!"
I opened the door to the classroom that we were standing beside. Through the window, we both could see from afar large stacks of smoke coming out of the facility. Then, suddenly, an explosion came out from the side and what appeared to be the head of a huge deformed lizard yelling, though from where we stood we could just barely make out any signs of roars or screams.
"Is THAT where your sister works or am I mistaken, Yumi? Yumi?" I looked to my side and found no one there. Apparently she had already run off...
"So, she's the new hime?" A cold voice talked monotonously as I looked to the other side, finding what appeared to be a high school girl with light (and rather bland) blue hair, staring straight into my eyes.
"...I will destroy her." WIth that she sped towards the window, ready to take a jump and head towards the facility. With just as quick speed, however, I grabbed her just as she had broken through the window, eyes hidden, glasses glaring.
"I think not, I'd rather we have a little teacher-to-student chat before you go out and do reckless things... but how about somewhere more spacious? Things are quite fragile here."

OK GUYS!!! IT'S "MAI HIME FAQ" TIME!!!
Ok so everyone knows that there are some kinds of monsters apparently threatening the world or something. These monsters are called Orphans, and are similar to the monsters in Sailor Moon or Power Rangers where they will appear in nearly every episode and do damage but then get defeated by the good guys in the end in a stupendous (or stupid, depending on what you think of those shows) manner. But there are several things different about these monsters. First off, they're not usually ugly female humanoid monsters as you see them in Sailor Moon, but rather large, 60 feet or so long demonic creatures that can resemble almost anything (in this case, and in this example, it seems that it's a gozilla lookalike... well, the face is, anyway). Orphans usually don't have super powers and destroy things by brute force. And, you himes do not have a special flying tiara that can kill the orphans in one hit; instead, you'll actually have to engage in a duel with them using your super powered weapon and summoned Child! Of course, as in Yumi's case, you'll probably have to discover your power first before you can use it...
A few details about my post: the facility is east of the school, your ceremony is now officially being held west of the school. Therefore, no one should be affected by this post except Malarkey. And if she does not respond in an appropriate amount of time, I will gladly take the pleasure in beating and killing her. :D Well, her character, anyway...

EDIT: ONE MORE THING!! Ignore the girl I talk to in the end. She'll begin playing a bigger role soon.

*is watching the anime* *up to episode 11* I luffit.
Engi: Is that girl Nagi talks to Miyu Gleer?? One more very stupid question: *please* tell me what Yatagarasu's HiME's dinky flute can do... Tsukasa can't remember, I don't want to check a site because of the potential spoilers, and I have this feeling it'll be a while till I see some action from Yatagarasu in the anime... n(_)n

Name: Fujiwara Kanna
Age: 16
Physical Appearance: About 5'7" tall. Has quite long, straight, black hair, that fades out at the tips to a colour approaching auburn. (Since I CAN'T describe the style, please look at the attachment!!) She's pretty enough, though you might classify her more as a Black Widow type of pretty than anything else. Has a tanned complexion, and she's stronger in the arms than she should be. She's leggy and has average proportions otherwise. Her eyes are yellow, much like a cornered dog's.
School Uniform: The usual orange-colour high school one, and short sleeves during summer.
Casual Outfit: Kanna likes off-the-shoulder tops with the sleeves coming to mid-forearm in various shades of lavender (her favourite colour). You can usually see the top of her (black) bra straps; she also wears a black velvet choker. She generally wears khaki shorts in warmer weather, with a belt that is more decorative than practical. In the winter she wears turtlenecks and jeans, and a tan greatcoat, as well as a scarf striped in different hues of purple. She always wears black combat boots in any weather.
Personality: Kanna had to grow up fast in a very short time, and it shows in her cynical attitude and sharp mouth. She's intelligent and doesn't find school too much of a problem. She takes things very seriously, and has a hot temper that can easily turn to violence if you don't watch out, especially if you're insulting her family or something. She doesn't have much time for friends, but she is not completely antisocial; once you get past her sarcastic mien she's pretty accommodating. She is quite the feminist; she thinks males of her age are irresponsible, immature and aggravating to the core.
Element: Flute
Child: Yatagarasu
Location of Birthmark: On her left ankle.
Relationships: It is widely known that she is too protective of her youngest brother, Tsuneo(10); their mother died in (his) childbirth. It is not quite so widely known that she is very fond of her second brother, Kaname(15); they sure as hell don't show it. Kaname himself is (possibly *evil laugh*) the object of Yamayuri Iyako's affections.
History: Her father often goes on trips outstation, as it's related to his job as a travel agent. He provides a home and monthly income, but not much else, so Kanna is basically the head of the household in almost all respects. She goes to Fuuka because her two brothers go there, too; and it's fairly near to her house. Most of her time off is spent being a surrogate mother; otherwise she's usually spending it catching up on her sleep. She doesn't have an active social life. ^_^;
Other: not as yet...

Fujiwara Kanna, Yatagarasu
völuspá "part one"
------------------------------

Her mother had said, of course the child, the child must live. And when she said it with her mouth she looked at her two older children, one six and the other not quite five, holding each other's fingers very tight, two pairs of yellow eyes bright; and said with her eyes that they must be strong, because their father could not. Then the last spasm came, and she cried out, and their gaze was broken; they had never seen so much blood in their life, and it was coming out of their mother.

The other thing that came out of their mother had very bright hair, blood-red. Stains from the birth. He was called Tsuneo. From the first, their father could not bring himself even to look at him without turning away. And so they had to love him that much extra, because their father could not.

The old people said of a pair of lovebirds that when one died the other would follow. Mr Fujiwara senior did not die, to all appearances; but he was dying all the same. He was dying from the inside. It is the worst kind of dying a body can do, because then it ceases to be a body but becomes a shell.

To his credit, Mr Fujiwara senior tried to stop dying from the inside. As precaution he took a job as a tour guide based primarily overseas, so that he would not have to look at his youngest child, or the hair that was red like his mother's (but so much brighter), or the black eyes that were large like his mother's, that made the hollow in his heart hollower. Kanna thought she knew this fact, and she did, a bit of it; Kaname stumbled upon it quite by accident; and Tsuneo had always known. He did not blame his father. He was quite an extraordinary child.

He had to be extraordinary, to go through with what he had to in his house.

Right now, Kanna was banging violently on the bathroom door. There were three functioning bathrooms in the house, but all their things were collectively dumped in the one bathroom adjoining Kanna's room which was also a link to Kaname's and Tsuneo's shared room. And they'd been too lazy to move anything out, so it remained that three of them ended up sharing the same bathroom.

"FUJIWARA KANAME! WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU DOING IN THE BATHROOM?!?!"

They woke up in this order: Tsuneo, then Kaname, then Kanna. Kanna prized sleep the most. It was to be expected. She did most of the chores. Kaname helped, with cooking. His cooking was better than his sister's - when Kanna made a cake, you knew and expected that it would be just that: a cake, maybe butter cake or chiffon cake, but it was just a cake. When Kaname made one, you knew the cake would be special. Maybe it had M&Ms on the crust, or orange marmalade icing. Or maybe little marzipan animals sitting on top. No matter what he made, it was always special. But Kanna did most of the work, barring cooking.

Inside the bathroom, Kaname calmly ignored the screeching creature hammering on the door and completed his toilette. When he finally emerged, he was attacked.

"What the- you're using my eyeliner? Dammit, you're a guy! Anyway I thought you bought your own eyeliner!"
"It's artistic expression, you hag! I ran out of eyeliner, okay? And I do not take too long in the bathroom. It's my right to occupy the bathroom first as I wake up earlier than you."
"Well, if I'm a hag, you're an okama."
"Hag."
"Okama."
"Hag!"
"O~ka~ma~"
"HAG!"
"OKAMA!"
The bathroom was forgotten. Tsuneo, at the breakfast table, read the newspaper with a deadpan expression. He'd give them another ten minutes of arguing time and then hurry them up for school.

*

They had to run to school, all three of them. They were lucky that they lived near enough to walk to school; if they had needed to catch the bus, they would probably be very, very late.
A crow cawed, as they ran in through the gate. It was rather unfortunate that none of them noticed.
There was half a row of empty chairs right at the back of the assembly. Director Koyuki Rokugan, bless his slimey heart, had only just begun his speech. Kanna and Kaname sat down, with Tsuneo between them. The trio as a collective did not have too many friends, a small girl called Iyako possibly being an exception. Kanna suspected that she had a crush on Kaname.
She looked around for her, planning to wave her over when she saw her. It would be fun to watch her annoying brother squirm. Add some colour to her morning and the customarily boring speech.
A red spot in the sky caught her eye. She blinked, but it was still there. It had always been there.
No use bothering about it now; now she was looking for Iyako.

Uh... tag to Sheila Rae?
Note: From what I gather (reading One Piece and Mr 2 Bon Kure *sweatdrop*) the word okama that Kanna used numerous times to insult her brother means something along the lines of homosexual. I could be wrong.

Yay! *is tagged* And Mr. Bon 2. XD I've never seen him in the anime, but I've read stuff online about him.

Name: Yamayuri Iyako
Age: 14
Physical Appearance: Iyako's skin is pale due to spending much time indoors or in the forest. She has "angel cheeks," meaning they have a rosy colour and that appears to be contantly blushing. Her hair is an unusual mahogany shade and it stops jaggedly at the midpoint of her neck. A long, thin braid continues past the rest of her hair until the center of her back. There is a pair of leaves tied into her ribbon of twine. Her eyes are large and round and of a deep purple hue. Her figure, like the rest of her body, is small and not worth notice. She stands at only 4'11". Sometimes her spine and other bones can be seen through her clothes; she is just that scrawny. She has a sixth toe on her right foot, and she is very conscientious about hiding it.
School Uniform: Yama-chan wears the normal 13-14 skirt with knee-high white socks and brown leather penny-loafers. A moon-shaped charm dangles from the buckle on about 8cm of purple yarn. However, she wears the boys' shirt for age group. Whether or not she wears the undershirt depends on the day.
Casual Outfit: She often wears long skirts of dim and earthly tones that brush the top of her feet. Being the dork that she is, she wears cork sandals over white socks. Iyako wears baggy t-shirts that used to be her older sister's. While she is cooking or cleaning, she wears a sky blue-and-white floral print apron with battered white lace.
Personality: Iya-tan is extremely shy and soft-spoken. As the old saying goes, she only speaks when spoken to. She can be annoyingly over-apologetic, with her ability to connect and twist anything to make it her fault. She blames herself for everything, even if it is the fault of the roots of her existence. Because of introverted disposition, she has trouble warming up to people and has never experienced the warmth of friendship. Rather, she spends time in the forest, talking to flowers and birds. She is very diligent in her studies and proper young lady. She is afraid to mess anything up (and would apologize greatly if she did), causing her to be very withdrawn. Often, she is often worried about being proper that she is obsessed with it. She always obeys authority, unless two higher forces contradict each other. If that is the case, she breaks down mentally.
Element: Mirrors (kagami)
Child: Diana
Location of Birthmark: Iyako's birthmark is on her right side, on the middle section of her ribcage.
Relationships: When she was young, Iyako was close to her sister, Katsura. Since Katsura disappeared and her existence has been surrounded by mystery, her mind has slowly drifted from her. She is also drawn to Fujiwara Kaname, Kanna's younger brother. Iyako can explain it in no other way than that she wants to help out such an amazing person.
She also develops a friendship with Yuki (Tsukasa).
History: Iyako was born on the outskirts of city where Fuuka Gakuen is located. She was raised by her mother; her father's whereabouts were, and still are, a mystery. Her childhood seems blurry, almost as if she did not have one, save for a couple irrelevant and out-of-place memories. Before she started school, her sister disappeared and had not since returned. Throughout school, Iyako always received high marks, making studying her first priority. Any spare time she had was spent in the forest behind her home. Since she was about eleven, her mother constantly had to travel for business, so Iyako could often be found making her own dinner…and an extra dish. Her exceptional grades, attendance, and potential allowed her to attend a prestigious academy like Fuuka, as she had always desired.
Other: She loves fruit snacks. They make her hyper. XD No, I'm serious

<--)~Yamayuri Iyako.14.Diana/Mirrors~(-->

Shadows that weren't dark. The coloured reflections blending in a beautiful kaleidoscope. Something this simple and unified could only be a fragment of a dream.

I was once again a young child, with short, boyish hair and an innocent smile upon my laughing face. There was a small area in the forest where the rays of sun streamed through the leaves with fierce beauty, as if to reach out their hands to the earth. I had eleven stones, each a colour of the rainbow, their translucency shining with the sun's brilliance. Deep crimson, bright red, rich orange, sunshine yellow, meadow green, rippled jade, sky blue, azure, midnight navy, light amethyst, and warm fuchsia. I knew that I was missing the deep orchid. The seemingly large void between it and the navy blue filled my heart. Placing my hands all around me repeatedly as if I were blind, I sought the stone but was never able to find it…not once in the countless times this dream recurred.

I lined up the stones in their rainbow order meticulously. Assuring that not a single one was slightly out of place, I rotated each stone with my tiny fingertips, bit by bit. When I was satisfied, I sat back to gaze upon the multicoloured light along the ground that sun blurred with its warming beams. I smiled at the perfectly straight line of magnificence I had formed with my hands, but frowned upon the small gap between the ninth and tenth stones, the part of myself that was missing.

From behind me, I heard the rapid rustling of leaves, quickly, though steadily, drawing nearer. I found myself unable to turn around, only avert my eyes from the stones, shaking. Then Katsura flew by my vision, with unaware eyes and a childish giggle, like a hysterical butterfly near an unbeknownst death. Her barefoot toes broke the alignment of the stones, sending them in every direction, severing the bonds of the colours. She continued her playful, yet eternal, run without even one bit of acknowledgement.

With a murmur that not even I myself could hear, I spoke, "Why, onee-chan? What did you do that for?" Perhaps it was not my own voice, but merely a whisper of the unforgiving wind.

The dawn that morning came lazily. As the sun started its day's journey around the world, so I began my day. The analogue clock upon the wall with crescent moons carved into the tarnish silver frame read ten to six. I leisurely rolled the white sheets off of me, like pulling back a curtain to reveal my small body. I rose, greeting the morning with a misplaced smile. Slowly and deliberately, I undressed and swapped my pajamas with my schoolgirl skirt and the boys' undershirt and top. My fingers slipped and the gold button popped off and rolled onto the floor. My throat let out a small cry and I bent down and cradled the button in my hand like an injured bird. Retrieving the small sewing kit from the drawer in the hallway and sat on the edge of my bed, beginning to fix the stray button.
After I finished, I once more slipped the shirt over my shoulders, though this time buttoning it very carefully.

I looked at my calendar beside my headboard; today was the first day of school. I also observed that it was three days until my mother would return; at that time, she would inform me when she had to leave again.

Wandering down the hall toward the kitchen, I stopped for a moment to gaze out the window. Although I was staring straight outside, I felt that I couldn't see anything, as if the everyday view had embedded itself so deeply in my mind that it could no longer be reached. With nothing to go on other than a whim, I decided that I would make waffles for breakfast this morning. As the iron heated up, I mixed the batter, focusing on the amount of each ingredient to be sure that it was correct. When that was completed, I slowly poured the batter into the iron, making sure not to spill a drop. As the fresh smell wafted into my nostrils, I knew the waffles were ready.

I placed a dish in front of myself and at the seat across from myself. I ate the waffles at a decent speed and cleaned up the kitchen afterwards, making sure it was just as spotless as it was when I had awaken this morning.

I stepped outside and strolled to the small garden along the side of the house. The chips of paint that had flaked off formed a sort of scattered mulch. Small and healthy weeds sprouted randomly, distorting the vision of an organized garden. Nevertheless, I saw no need to pick them, as their charm added something that was not there until now. Bending to my knees, I stroked the petals of a large yellow-and-red dahlia between my thumbs and index fingers. "Onee-chan…I hope you return today," I whispered with a smile, gazing lovingly upon the fragile blossom.

Pulling myself away from the flower, I found the blue watering can and filled it with the outdoor faucet. The sound of the pounding water against the plastic insides seemed unnatural. I watered the garden, always paying special attention to my sister's dahlia. The water droplets rolled down the petals and glistened with the sun's light.

Returning indoors, I first had to put on my knee socks and school shoes. Then I readied my bag and headed off for the first day of school. It would seem to some that I was heading on a journey, as my preparations were thorough and lengthy. My mother taught me that it was better to be safe than sorry.

As I departed, the turning of the key to lock the door made an unpleasant sound. I placed the key in the right pocket of my shirt and held onto it with a closed hand, as if to protect something much more important than it. Finally letting go of the key, I held the handle of my bag with both hands, and continued on my way to Fuuka.

When I arrived, there were over three hundred empty chairs, as if the area was so desolate that it had been forgotten. Director Rokugan seemed to be busily organizing this and that near the podium. I walked toward him then stopped before the podium, keeping my head down.

"Oh, a student, already!" he exclaimed as he turned around. "You sure are early! I'm not even finished with the preparations yet."

My face flushed. "I'm sorry! It is my fault my arriving too soon! I'm sorry, I'm sorry!"

"Whoa, it's okay!" he said, patting my head. "Just go ahead and take a seat, if you don't mind waiting for about a half hour."

"I am a ninnen in middle school…where should I sit?" I asked shyly.

"Heh, wherever," he said, aimlessly waving his hand, as if to bat away a bothersome insect.

"My humblest apologies. I am sorry I came too early." I walked toward the center of the mass of chairs. That way, I would be close enough to hear, but not too close to the front. I placed my bag on my lap and clutched handles tightly.

Slowly, the white noise level began to increase as more and more students arrived. The slow crescendo grew less melodic as the volume rose. The seats around me became filled; my hope dwindled for the meantime. Director Rokugan began is speech. I perked up and a head of messy, dark brown hair caught my eye like a child who is attracted to shiny object. It was Fujiwara Kaname, my most amazing senpai. I wished to go and see him; it had been a long summer, after all. However, it would have been very rude and uncalled for to stand during the director's opening speech. I remained seated, if only for the time being…

I'll promise to stalk Kanna and Kaname afterwards. It will be more fun that way! >D

Malarkey
22nd August 2005, 07:53 PM
Name: Terada, Yumi
Age: 20
Physical Appearance: True to her name (which has the meaning of beauty) Yumi is blessed with great physical features. Her dark red hair falls to a bit past her shoulder blades and she usually keeps it down to focus attention onto her. She stands at 5’6" and has a body with the right proportions. Her curves are flattering and she works to keep it that way. Her skin is a little on the pale side though is free of the traditional freckles all too familiar with the stereotype red head. Her dark eyes are the most dominant of her features though. Her ability to seem almost as if to bore into someone can make the weak hearted back down to her terms.
School Uniform: N/A
Outfit: She wears a skirt that falls an inch or two further then mid thigh. The skirt is usually a brown in tone and goes along with a white, slightly lower cut tank top for upper body wear. Covering most of the tank top is usually a thin, sleeveless vest in lighter hues. The vest is zipped only at the half way mark. She never did like jewelry, so she is never seen with it.
Personality: She is strong, and is in need of no one to take care of her. Others could easily call her cold. Arrogance, which is a proven weakness, is nothing new to her though she is reverent to those that she respects. Friendships are very hard to come by, and trust with respect is the two essentials of her approval. Yumi is used to getting what she wants and won’t stop until she gets it. It has never been put past her to use her looks as a helping hand to get what is needed. The best thing about her is her word. If Yumi gives anyone a promise, she will keep it or die trying. Liars and two-faced people will receive her full wrath, seeing as she sees such acts as signs of weakness. Her time is kept by watching others and evaluating them for her own pleasure, though if anyone has the lack of pride to ask for help with anything, she will gladly assist in their trouble.
Element: Thread Claws
Child: Julia
Location of Birthmark: Under her left shoulder blade.
Relationships: Keeping her family life very secretive, not many people know about an older sister Naki. Even harder to please then Yumi, she is on a team of scientists for medical research. The drive to meet her sister’s approval causes her listen to Naki blindly.
History: Growing up with her parents and sister, all three of whom were considered the top of whatever they attempted, made Yumi rely on only herself. This feeling of being alone made her able to bear having a lack of others to depend on. She didn’t really like her sister until she grew older and tried to forget the jealousy that she held for Naki. Both herself and Naki attended Fuuka in their younger years though even after graduating from the school, Yumi wished to be in the environment. She now works as a file manager for the school with easy access to anyone's history she wishes to view. She also appreciates the fact that she knows all staff and has seen most of the students whether in the office, or just walking through the school. She lives alone in an apartment not too far away from Fuuka
Other: None that can be thought of right now.

Terada, Yumi

—Morning—

Coffee is the death of everyone in the world. The sludge that poisons anyone’s natural waking pattern is the Achilles heal of society. The scary thing is, that it tastes really good for the first two seconds, making me sigh with content, and then the after taste tints the fresh morning. That is why I hate coffee, and why I have too much time to think of such things. The cup that I filled with the brown liquid sat before me on the counter, steaming happily as it waited for me to reach out and drink it. I watched the cup with mild interest and then reached out to pour it down the sink. Every morning I did this, just to prove that I didn’t need what society needed.. I placed the now empty cup next to the emptied individual size coffee percolator for tomorrow’s test. I haven’t consumed coffee for five years.

Looking up at the clock, I quickly read the time and did a double take when seeing the time. Eleven minutes past eleven? What was going on? The sun had barely risen. I concluded that the time was wrong, it must have stopped sometime during the night. Turning to shut off the television, I noticed that the station was on channel eleven. I reached for the power button and pressed it and quickly stepped back when it wouldn’t turn off, change channels, or show an actual picture. A blue screen glowed without any display but the small numbers of eleven on the top right corner. Looking at the walls, the number eleven slowly oozed in black in different hand and size. Graffiti all over the walls in eleven different styles. Eleven tables seated at the small apartment kitchen, eleven sitting imprints in the four person sofa, eleven times of the clock going off…wasn’t it supposed to be past eleven? Panic came quickly as I placed my hands over my ears and shut my eyes so hard it hurt. Then silence. Complete silence. Opening my eyes hesitantly, I saw everything back to normal. My hands started to shake as I walked calmly to the closet, trying to pretend that nothing happened.

I took my purse and closed the door swiftly and walked past the mirror located in the hall. Everything was perfect. The dark brown skirt matched with the white tank top, covered decently with a pink vest. Wouldn’t want to be too conservative, so the vest was left unzipped. It was a typical day, typical work uniform, typical possessed show of the number of eleven. It was happening more frequently, and it bothered me when others noticed me closing my eyes like I was dizzy. “Are you ok Yumi” can be wearing on my nerves.

Walking out to the kitchen again, the clock displayed nine fifteen and the television was turned off as I left it the night before. It was as if nothing happened, just as it always is. After looking instinctively at the answering machine connected to the phone and noticing no messages from my sister, who was really the only person I talked to, I opened the door to the building stairway. Getting the keys out, I locked the door and turned toward the stairs, ready for the wonderful walk to Fuuka.

—Fuuka—

Running with a skirt was proving difficult, but not as difficult as running in heels. Luckily I ditched them a few feet away from where I left Nagi, making running much easier and more productive. As I ran past the doors of each empty classroom, I could see the monster emerge slowly from the side of the building, like a cartoon flip book. Slowly it pushed its head from the walls, then its shoulders. By the time it had forced the body out, the wall was almost completely destroyed.

“Naki,” I whispered as I ran faster then before towards the east exit of the school. No longer inside the building, I ran across the dry grass towards the facility, fearing the worst. That my sister was dead. Not really caring where the monster continued to rampage, I pulled open the only door that remained of the facility. The glass usually was in tact, but now it was shattered and my feet caught onto the sharp shards. Blood spots began to trace my tracks as I walked more carefully into the large room. The facility was made with many small rooms, each one seemed to have its own purpose. Now there were no walls, and the carnage was easy to spot.

My eyes glanced at each still body, not caring about who it was dead on the floor, as long as it wasn’t my competitor in life. This would make victory too easy. The rubble was horrible. Plaster and broken glass was everywhere. The air was full of dust, which made me fight down a coughing fit. It took a few minutes but I spotted the identical color of red hair as mine but shorter. Almost like a man’s haircut. She lay on the floor, her eyes glazed and looking at the ceiling. I took a breath of frustration. All this work and the girl is dead. I glared at the little trail of blood from my feet as if it was in vain. Which was how it appeared.

“Yumi?” Came a voice from the body on the floor. I quickly looked back to Naki’s eyes, which were no longer filled with a vacant expression. I quickly walked besides her sister and kneeled carefully next to an overturned desk.

“I knew you couldn’t be dead,” I muttered with a small, amused smile. “You seem to be a super human. Both in mind and in body.” Too bad for me. I thought quietly. I looked over my shoulder towards the door I entered, expecting Nagi to come walking in. Where in the hell was he? I quickly felt anger surge through me. Obviously there was something more important to the coward, like listening to his beloved Koyuki Rokugan. I promised that I would set Nagi straight if they all got out of this alive. I turned back to face Naki. “What happened?”

Naki stayed quiet for a second, seeming quite content at lying on the floor when all she had was a few cuts and bruises among the dead. At least they earned the right to lay there. She sighed as if the request for information was such a terrible burden and looked up at me without the answer.

“Naki? Answer me!” I yelled in frustration but she continued to stare at me with wide eyes. I nearly jumped to my feet when I heard the scream of the monster yet again, and this time it was from close range. I stayed kneeling and turned to the side of the building in which the monster had decided to make an exit from. The feet appeared first which alone made me gape in amazement. It’s whole body followed, and it entered the facility once again. It’s slit eyes looked down at me with what appeared to be amusement. Naki pretended to be dead to save her own skin, which gave me courage to stand up and brace myself for what happened. The result was instantaneous. The monster brought a claw back ready to swipe me down. I thought desperately of a way to survive the hit, for the blow would kill both my useless sister and me. Well, the latter was her fault, maybe if she actually did something for herself she wouldn’t be lying on the floor pretending to be useless.

“Anything….” I muttered, as I stayed frozen on the spot, watching the arm fling towards us. Time seemed to freeze at that moment. Pressure on me came from no where, and my hands felt heavier with weight. I looked down and saw the claws. The metallic power that seemed to surge through me was sensuous. The metal that hung to my wrist, forming a deadly glove gave me some sort of courage, and the red tips that seemed to drip with blood in color gave a dangerous twinge. The new found will to move forced me to step back easily from the monster’s aim and as it passed, I quickly pulled my own arm back and aimed carefully. The razor sharp tips of my claws clung onto the lizard’s flesh and tore it. A little bit more then a few scratches to the beast, but it noticed. Liquid that could have passed as blood came from the creature, and I laughed. I wouldn’t die defenseless then. It screamed in anger and I knew that there was no way I could kill it with just the claws. Just how sharp were they?

I raised my pointer finger to my face and slowly pulled the tip across my left cheek. The thrill of feeling the pain was what made me laugh louder. A bloody scratch that only resulted from the tiniest pressure on the metal made me giddy. Call it adrenaline, because I knew it would hurt later. I ran full speed towards the monster, wincing from my feet hitting the plaster, though I reached the feet of the lizard, and dug the claws straight into the flesh. That was when my arrogance got me, because this time I didn’t see or hear the monster’s hand come flying towards me. The impact sent me flying through the air, and landing with my back against the wall. My eyes fluttered shut for a moment and opened again. I was too weak to move, and had reached the low level of my sister, who was still lying on the floor. The deformed face turned to me, and if it could grin, I am sure that was what it would be doing. I watched in horror as it came towards me slowly, relishing the fact that the pest was finally pinned down.

“Nagi!” I yelled at a slight twist of plea. He was the only one that knew I was there. And I was utterly finished, with these claws or not.

Name: Tanaka Anko
Age: 17
Physical Appearance: Anko's body is what most girls would envy her for, and most guys would love her for. Her curves and female-body-parts are nicely developed and she stands around 6'3", getting her height from her biological father. Her hair is a raven black and goes to her shoulders, and her eyes are a soft gray. Her legs are a big longer than her torso. She has a small, burn like scar on her ankle that she hides with her socks.
School Uniform: Female 15-18 w/Tan top. She normally wears a bracelet of small gray beads on her left wrist.
Casual Outfit: Anko loves lime green, navy and gray; So her shirts tend to range in those colors. She doesn't like shirts and tends to wear jeans and sneakers. She'll occasionally wear khaki pants or capris.Her shirts always show off her figure, of course. When she's at home, she tends to wear light blue pajama pants and a tank top of some sort.
Personality: Although she has a body of a mature woman, she's very stubborn, especially when things don't go her way. So, ofcourse, she always tries to win people over in her favor or try to win any competition to show that 'she is the best'. However, underneath that, she's depressed and daydreams a lot. She's nice to her friends, however, but is equally stubborn. She's picky when it comes to foods and tends to only like seafood. She's...verrryy fiesty when she's in a bad mood.^^;
Element: Obsidian Sword
Child: Miroku
Location of Birthmark: On her left shoulderblade, on her back.
Relationships: Anko cares deeply for her adopted mother, and is a close friend to Amaya.
History: Abandoned and adopted at the age of 5, Anko has always been a only child to her adopted family. Therefore, she tends to get her way most of the time - explainning her stubbornness towards change. Her adopted parents, thinking it'd be right for her, sent her to Fuuka Gakuen, which isn't that far from their house. She works at a local bakery after school, earning money for a car. Or a Vespa, perhaps.

The reason behind her being abandoned is unknown, but Anko sometimes recalls memories of pain and the smell of liquor from her biological father.
Other:

--------------------

The smell of liquor...and of tobacco. The lights whizzed pass me and whoever was carrying me as I heard footsteps and upcomming traffic. The hearing of one's heartbeat and the feeling of being close to someone's chest as they breathed. I could feel random moments of soft hair as I started to hear ambulances and the sound of doors opening and closing. The sound of the mysterious person holding me's footsteps changed from harsh to the sound of tile.

The next thing I knew, I was laying on a counter as someone's soft, emerald eyes looked over me, and then looked over to the person, who said, crying..

"Please! Take my little Anko-chan before he finds me! Please!!"

"please...take..."I found myself saying as I opened my eyes slowly, and looked over my shoulder to a alarm clock that was loudly playing a song from a local radio station. If it was the summer, I'd be pounding the snooze button and falling to sleep before my full-time job started. However, I wasn't working full-time at the bakery anymore..It was already time for school to start and I was now only part-time. I slowly got up and streched, looking and making my Tatami-mat bed as I looking at my uniform that hung near my mirror in the room.

Mom was soo happy when we got my uniforms in the mail. She got me the Tan topped short sleeve one, and almost wore it herself before I snatched it away from her, with Father laughing in the background. I walked over and took the uniform as I looked back at my alarm clock...15 minutes before 7. I had enough time to take a shower and prep myself before breakfast and the ceremony that would be held today. I walked into my bathroom, and shut the door tightly before going to wash up..

"That felt great.."I mumbled to myself as I walked out, my hair dried and styled..well..atleast not to be frizzy, and I was all changed in my uniform. I walked over and grabbed my keys, apron for work, and wallet before walking into the kitchen, where I could already smell ham and eggs cooking, and layed right behind my seat was my messanger bag -- All prepped by mom, who was more excited about school starting than me.

I slowly sat down and took a sip of the tea as I waited for breakfast to be done. I exhanged proper greetings with dad, and with mom once she started to bring our plates and chopsticks out. She sat donw once finished, and I slowly ate at my breakfast, which included rice today..

"You need carbs inorder to be active during school today, yes?"My mom said, her eyes sparkling with joy.
"I guess..."I said, taking small bits. "I could always get some coffee on the --.."
"No! Remember, any caffeine and you'll be too hyper!"
"Yes mommm"I saighed. She was the only person that I didn't bicker to about getting my way. Although I did get my way with her most of the time, my health was another matter. She barely allows me to bring in baked Potato Chips and Diet Soda as is.
"Now...I want you to have fun today, ok? But don't yell at your teacher --"
"I don't do that."I mumbled.
"Or rudely say something to the cooks if your lunch isn't cooked right --"
"That was once."
"Or hit a boy if he says anything! You should take it as a complement."
"It's rude if they always stare down there, you know."I sighed, and finished eating. My dad chuckled a little at the last part, knowing that mom didn't know how I felt about it - mom was flat chested, unlike me.

"Well.."I said, busily gulping down the rest of my tea before standing up and taking my plate into the sink. I walked back and grabbed my messanger bag before finishing my sentence. "I'll try to be good today...but I can't promise anything."
"Yes you can."My mom said, and then we bothed laughed before I hugged them both. I almost rushed out the door before remembering --..

"Oh yeah, my cell..."I laughed a bit, taking it out of the charger and into my messanger bag's pocket for it, and walked out the door. Fuuka Gakuen...I was a senior this year, I believed, and the school was close by. I could detour around and get some coffee, but then I might not sit down before Amaya-chan. I decided to take no detours, and walked directly to the ceremony, which was west to the school. Some people were already there, but I was able to find a good seat and placed my messanger bag on the seat next to me - saving it for Amaya. I slowly looked up as I waited, and saw the star that always laid near the sun..

The red star...

-----------

Sorry that my post isn't really in color-text or anything, but I want to wait to do that until I get back to NY. But here is my opening post.

And I'm not sure if Anko would be a senior or not...x.x

OoooooKAAAAAAAAMAAAAAA WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY! *Coughs.* Err....sorry Bon-chan's one of my favorite villians.

Name: Koyuki Rokugan
Age: 22
Physical Appearance: Taller than most at the height of six foot with a fairly slender build that makes him seem a bit lanky. Muscles are apparent from a strict training regime. Hair is fairly long, falling just between his shoulder blades and pulled back into a long ponytail. Eyes are an odd amber gold in color.
Outfit: Normally wears a black blazer and pants with a long sleeved crimson shirt underneath. A charm is always seen around his neck, a purple jewel set above a bell with a long feather beneath that. Also tends to wear a pair of glasses that seemed to be mirrored.
Personality: Calm, cool, collected. These three C's describe Koyuki perfectly. He seems to care deeply for his school as he always endorses activities that would in anyway better it or its students. He remains humble and seems to know everything going on at the school. He, like Nagi, has some knowledge on the Legend of the HiMEs.
Element: Katana
Child: N/A
Relationships: Many of the female students of Fuuka Gakuen have a crush on him and he seems to have firm trust in Nagi despite his teaching methods or rather lack thereof.
History: Koyuki comes from an ancient line that has lived in Fuuka for many generations. Though his family is quite rich, the young man prefers to live in the family compound on the outskirts of Fuuka rather than within the city. Upon graduation from Fuuka Gakuen, he was immediately given the job of School Administrator and seems to be doing quite a good job of it. He seems to also be inexplicably tied to the HiME Legend and may know a few things that even Nagi may not.
Other: Obviously, like Nagi, Koyuki is male and NOT a HiME.

Koyuki Rokugan ~ Fuuka Academy Administrator
=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=
The director stood calmly at the podium, overlooking the sea of teens that comprised the student body of Fuuka Academy. A slow smile came to his face as he remembered when he too, not so long ago, sat among them waiting for the director's commencement speech. It grew as he watched others shuffle in the back, obviously trying to hide themselves among their fellow students to hide their tardiness. There were always those who would be late, just as there was always one student who came too early.

Clearing his throat, Koyuki tapped the mic a few times to get the attention of those still speaking. "Good morning everyone and a welcome to a new year here at Fuuka Academy. To those who are just starting here, I also offer my congratulations at being accepted and expect to see you do well during your time here at Fuuka. As many of your senpais will tell you, we here at Fuuka pride ourselves with being among the best schools in the country. Here you will learn many things, hopefully not just academically. They say this is the time of one's life where events will shape who they will become in life. This year, and in those to come, you will unlock potential within yourself that you you may not even know you have."

"To those returning students, I am sincerely glad to see you have returned to our doors once again. I have a feeling that this will be quite an exciting year for the academy and hope that you will continue to support the school in all its endeavors. New discoveries await you and for those in your last years here at Fuuka, life-altering decisions will be made. I have faith that you will have the strength to make those decisions and the fortitude to take any consequences that may come with it. Life is dictated by our actions and we must be sure that those actions are for the better."

"Now, on to more pressing business as I'm sure I've rambled on long enough. First, we have a new teacher here at the academy." Turning slightly to where the teachers were assembled behind him, the director noticed a certain blue-haired teacher was conspiciously absent. "But seeing as he is not here at this moment, I will introduce him to the school at a later time. Suffice to say he will be quite an interesting teacher and you will learn much from him. As well, the library to the east of the dorms is strictly off limits to unauthorized personnel. Those caught will be suspended from all festivals and other student related activities for the rest of the year. As always, if you have any questions, concerns, or ideas, my home is just up the hill and students are welcome any time." He gave the assembly a small smile. "And for those who send gifts, please send something edible as my home has more than enough flowers and ornaments to last many generations."

This earned a laugh from the student body as well as a few blushes from the young admirers of the Director. "Once again welcome to Fuuka and lets make this year one to remember." Bowing slightly to the crowd as they applauded, Koyuki took his leave of the stage.

Nagi
=====
"Nagi!!" I could hear the hime plea for help, begging me to come out of the shadows and defeat the Orphan for her... but I could not. Instead, I just stood from the shadows, arms crossed, watching casually but cautiously, for there were dangers much more serious than an orphan lurking around, ready to take the hime after she has dealt with the orphan. Yes, she can deal with the orphan quite well on her own. I knew that she had the power hidden within her, and that she will soon be calling out not my name, but the name of the child that shall soon be very familiar to her...

Julia...

"J-Julia?" I heard her stutter out loud, repeating the whisper that reached her ears, as if the name she had just utterred seemed somewhat familiar to her. At that moment, the monster initiated its attack, lunging towards the seemingly hapless victim, when immediately a large arachnid figure suddenly slammed into the monster and knocked it back down, protecting the hime underneath her abdomen. The humanlike face the newly arrived child had looked steadily down towards Yumi, who was both anxious about the newly arrived monstrosity, yet felt somewhat familiar with it...

"Don't worry, Yumi-hime... you'll find her quite fitting soon enough..." I smiled in the shadows, then lept off... I have other issues to deal with, and my job here is finished.

EDIT: Note to Chiko-sai: As far as I can tell, the flute can only allow you to create a spirit image of yourself anywhere you want it to be in the world, and summon your child there as well. I think that's about it, and sorry if I spoiled anything for you :p.

:\\Uzaki Maiyuki /|\ Kagutsuchi//:

”Once again, welcome to Fuuka and lets make this year one to remember.” The Director said, bowing before he left the stage. He personal secretary then approached the podium and gave us directions to begin the day.

“Would everyone please make your way to your first class of the day. Your schedules were sent along with your admittance letter, so all of you should know where you are headed.” Many students, including myself, rustled through pockets or their bag to find the said letter. I pulled out the professional envelope and checked my classes again. Math first. “For those that did NOT receive their schedule or misplaced it, you can pick up a copy of your classes at the tables to your right.” She pointed to several tables lined up with staff members behind them.

I noticed that Aya was not searching for hers. “You forgot it, didn’t you?” I interrogated her. She tensed up a little. “It’s alright! Just go get another copy!” The idea perturbed her a little. She’s always had a thing against teachers, well, more like everyone in general, but she was just going to have to deal with that in this situation.

Students began to bustle and strike up conversations as they dispersed. Ami and I were heading in the same direction, as I expected, but I would have to leave Aya behind. “I hope she doesn’t get into trouble...” I thought to myself. “I’ll probably have a skirt for second block, knowing her.” Ami seemed tickled by my comment and I giggled a little too.

We quickly made our way to the building with our first classroom. Several students were waiting outside already. “I guess the teacher isn’t here yet.” Ami whispered to me. Another student we passed by heard as well.

“No. I think they were helping with the ceremony stuff.” A girl interrupted. “Are you in this class too? I’m Sato, Kiyaka Sato.” She smiled at us, waiting for a reaction.

“Always nice to meet a fellow student! I’m Uzaki Yuki. And this,” I directed her attention to my left, “is Kazoe Ami.” We both smiled back, pleased to have made a new friend. The teacher came quickly afterwards, letting us into the stale and rather stuffy classroom.

“I’m Mr. Musanagi. Please, take a seat.” He prepared some papers that he removed from his briefcase and hastily began rattling off names for attendance. I knew I’d be near the end, so I sat back and made myself comfortable.

“Fujiwara Kaname.” There was no answer. “Again, Fujiwara Kaname?” A shadow appeared in the door. It was a boy, but he was a little sweaty. He probably had to get a new schedule, like Aya did.

“That’s me, sir. I’m Kaname.” He sighed, panting a little.

“Well, please take a seat in one of the empty chairs.” Kaname nodded and walked towards me. There was one behind me, and he seemed to be heading for it. I poked at Ami, who was next to me, and gave a little smirk. ”New next-door neighbor...”

~.|.~.|.~.|.~.|.~.|.~.|.~
Although class time was cut short for the half-day, the rest went by quickly. The final tone went off for the day, and the courtyard was, yet again, full with students chattering and bickering about their classes and teachers, homework, and other things they couldn’t, or could, wait for. Outside the main curriculum building, Ami and I met up with Aya again. “So, did you make it to all your classes fine?” I kinda acted like a big sister to her. She rolled her eyes.

“Yeah. Although I could strangle those people that handed out the schedules! What idiots!” I could see the rage building up from the redness in her face.

“Calm yer jets, girl!” I gave her a little nudge and she shot a glance back at me. I saw Kaname and another girl coming towards us. “At least you won’t end up like THAT loser.” I said, just loud enough for him to hear me.

“Hey! What’s that supposed to mean, Ms. MAIyuki?” I shuddered at the mention of my full first name. He had learned it from attendance in Mr. Musanagi’s class. “Oh, and the peon here is Iyako.” He motioned with his head towards the girl next to him.

She sadly pouted up at him and gave a little scoff, “You’re so mean, Kaname!” She turned to us shyly and whispered, “But yes, I’m Yamayuri Iyako.” She gave a small glimps of a smile, but it wasn’t much.

Suddenly, the doors of the building behind us squeaked open and Mr. Musanagi approached us. “I’m sorry to bother you, but could a couple of you assist me in the classroom?” Ami, as her usual self, took up the offer to help right away, but surprisingly, so did Kaname. ”I guess he really can’t stand her...” I quickly shrugged it off; it wasn’t any of my business.

“I’ll catch you later, Yuki!” Ami shouted as the 3 of them went inside.

“Ok! Give me a call when you’re done!” I turned back to Aya and the abandoned Iyako. “Well, wanna walk back into town with us?”

She gave a little smile and we quickly left the campus...

I listened to the speech with most attention… well, perhaps not the speech exactly as much as the person speaking the words. If anyone would have asked me what he said, I would have had to refurred to past year speeches… and I probably would have been right for the most part.
Yumi
My eyes widened slightly and my whole body stiffened. Some thing was definitely not right… I could sense it in the air. Glancing about, everyone was doing their own thing… and while I had friends, no one was particularily a great friend of mine. So they wouldn’t mind me dashing out… or disappearing and what not.
Slowly I crawled out of my seat, and walked passed everyone towards the nearest building. As soon as I had ducked around the corner, I exhaled and focused more. There was definitely some thing wrong… I could sense it. Of course… lately these days, for some apparent reason, my dreams had become more frequent and my hunches… well, more powerful. Some thing was definitely brewing… and I could only acknowledge the fact that Nagi was succeeding in his work and the HiMEs were growing. I already knew quite a few of them… not that they knew me: no one knew I was a HiME other than Nagi himself. Of course… the reason I knew others were HiME were either by the utmost thorough speculation and other means.
“ Got it.” I swiftly ran in the direction that I believed to be my guiding… and of course, soon I saw a burning building.
“Baka!” I swore, thinking of Nagi and how he probably thrusted another unknowing girl into the world with out any preparation. Narrowing my eyes, I clicked my fingers as I ran swiftly towards the sounds of a battle.
“On!” I cried, and instantly a beautiful double-sided dagger formed in my hand. Over the edge, I quickly came to the scene.
“Terada-sai?” I said in shock, standing a ways away… seeing her confronting another gruesome Orfan. However… it appeared that Nagi had already done his work, and she had summoned her Child but yet it appeared as if she didn’t know what to make of it.
“ Don’t be afraid Terada-sai! It will aid you!” I called out, and suddenly her eyes flickered over to me. I knew her… mostly because everyone went her area of keep, but I visited probably more than most. For my own reasons not to be explained, of course.
Terada-sai seemed to get her wits back about her, and a new strength filled her body as she slowly rose upwards as her Child began to battle. She seemed to be focused upon this monster… and I knew that the monster would be disposed of. There was usually always some thing about a newly awakened Child that caused a victory to almost always be imminent. Most likely Nagi planned it that way… the bastard.
My eyes scanned the ground to see another person lying on the ground. My eyes widened with shock… most likely because I had not seen it before, merely focusing upon Terada-sai had taken my attention away. I quickly leapt down not to join her, but to merely stand there as a shield to defend the fallen figure.
“ Don’t worry about her Terada-sai… fight. I will make sure no harm will come to her.” I wasn’t exactly sure if the body was dead or alive, but I could sense that it meant some thing to Terada-sai.

(Had to join in… ;_; needed intereaction. She won’t fight because she doesn’t think Yumi will need the help. She knows a lot about HiME, but she probably won’t explain much right away or give anything away about herself. ^_^ She’ll probably tell her the monster is an Orphan/Orfan and that’s about it. I’m hoping this will lead to future interactions… since I’m guessing besides Nagi, she’ll know the most about HiMEs and such. )

Fujiwara Kanna, Yatagarasu
"I could just ram the damn flute up some Orphan's ass... couldn't I?"
Supporting Cast: Fujiwara Kaname
------------------------

Kanna pulled on Kaname's ear, hard. "You lost your schedule again, didn't you? After I made three photocopies just to make sure you wouldn't have, too."
"Ouch. Yeah."
"Such is life. My life. To be blessed with such a wonderful brother." Pull. "Tell me, do you know where to get a new one? No, wait. I don't think you were listening during assembly, either." Pull. "Thinking about Iya-tan, probably."
"Ouch. No, I wasn't. And I don't like Iyako. Not in the way you're implying. Stop pulling on my ear and tell me quickly before we're both late for class."
Tsuneo put in, before the situation got any worse: "Aneki, aniki, I have to go for class now. I'll show aniki where to get his schedule, it's on the way."
"Have you got your lunchbox?" That was Kanna.
"Um, no. You're holding it in the hand that you're not pulling aniki's ear with."
"Thanks very much." That was Kaname, rubbing his sore earlobe, finally released from the iron grip of his sister. Kanna handed Tsuneo's red wave-patterned lunchbox to him and gave Kaname his own boring black one. "I would thank you very much too if it were not for the tragic memory of the wound I received, still fresh in my mind although it happened nearly twenty-eight seconds ago."
"Whatever." She turned to Tsuneo. "Got your schedule?" Nod. "Water bottle?" Nod. "Books?" Nod. "Good. Wait for us at the gate after school, okay? And you," back to Kaname, "See you after school, my favourite artistic jerk."
She walked off before he had time to reply. As she entered the doorway of the building, the bell rang.

*

She'd had to run out of class right after homeroom. The crows were clamouring; what a shame she had not heard them before. She hoped no one had noticed, but crows making noise were commonplace. It was just the sheer number of them that were making noise. Something, somewhere, was happening.
In the girl's restroom, Kanna materialized her flute. She had not been able to understand the language of crows barely a week ago. Now, it seemed as if they would not stop talking - occasional whispers drifting in her ear during class, raucous worship when they saw her pass on an empty street. Distracting. For the most part, she had ignored much of the nonsense they spoke, about carrion and where to find it, among other things. But this was the loudest council the crows had had since her becoming.
The flute could not do much in the way of attack. In fact, she had not been able to make much of it at all, save to direct her monstrous black charge. It was not pleasant to look at (although at least it was purple) and made sounds that were poor excuses for musical notes, seeming more crow-caw than true music. She had not tried to ram it up sensitive places on Orphans yet, because she did not have a death wish. But at least it allowed her to listen in on avian conversation. Although this had a glaring flaw: she could not know what the crows did not.
The big occasion. It was the initiation of another HiME. Nagi, the weirdo that had been at her own initiation, was probably messing with the poor girl's mind now, or guiding her, depending on how you wanted to look at it. None of her business; she didn't need to help. The first time you summoned your Child, the sheer adrenaline that pumped through your veins would ensure your win.
No, absolutely none of her business. Back to class it was.

*

Kaname was late for his class, as expected. Not only was he late for class, but he also had to make unintentional instant enemies with Uzaki Maiyuki. What was it that was wrong with him? The hair? The look he had on his face? The not-very-comfortable fact that Iyako liked him? Was it his fault? Did he actually care?
At any rate, wanting to avoid further conflict, he offered to help Mr Munasagi out with the class duty roster, trying not to look at Iyako's hurt puppy expression that he actually found very cute. Uzaki's second half, Ami, was also on hand to help. She was a pleasant enough girl. He managed to hold a civil conversation with her, in which he clarified his innocence to any thoughts she might have had about him 'using' Iyako.
Apparently, Uzaki was a very nice person. She must just have not taken to him, according to Ami.
Lucky him.
------------------------
Note: What, THAT'S all the flute can do?! Sigh... considering who the HiME for Yatagarasu was, I don't think I'm surprised. And I watched all the way to ep 26 yesterday ...I couldn't wait for the ending. Erm, I added the 'ability' of crow speech to the flute, because it's just such a USELESS DINKY FLUTE, but if it's not allowed I'll edit it out and, uh, make the post rub along somehow.

Personality: Sato is a very odd person. She loves anime and video games so much that most of her possessions are just that. Due to this obsession, she only has a few friends that are close to her. She can also seem very random and say things at inappropriate moments. She takes good care of those close to her though, and secretly wishes she were a little more "normal". She's quite intelligent, aside from that, and normally gets good grades all round.
Element: Infinite Pistols
Child: Duran (Wolf)
Location of Birthmark: On the back of her neck. Her hair hides it unless it's moved.
Relationships: Her parents and her older brothers. Her brother, Ohiko, particularly. Ohiko was also into video games. In fact, he was the one who got her into them in the first place. Her parents thought it was such a boy-ish thing to do and that she was wasting her time. Ohiko stuck up for her at school and was generally the closest person to her.
History: Sato, being the youngest of 4 children, was the baby of the family and quite often had a critical and watchful eye on her at all times. Hiro and Takakura, 21 and 23, have both already gone through Fuuka where as Ohiko, 18, is in his final year. Her mother and father have long houred yet high paid jobs and have been able to afford all their children's tuition at Fuuka. Sato wasn't that fussed on going, but her parents insisted.

~Kiyaka Sato~
I opened the door carefully and crept inside. Bars on the door slid down behind me. I ignored them, kept my gaze in front of me. I jumped from little island to island, avoiding the purple water, slaying a few Buba Plants on the way. Once I finally made it to the top ledge, I stared down into the hollowed out tree trunk to find my goal: the Treasure chest.
I jumped from the ledge, opening up my Deku leaf and floating carefully above the hole. I dropped in silently, landing right next to the chest. I lifted it open, a warm yellow glow met my face, lighting up the small space I was in. I leaned inside and took out the contents.
I spun around to face the camera, holding up the treasure. A blue scroll was in my hand. A dialog box appeared in front of the camera, informing the viewer that it was a sea chart.
“Sea chart? A sea chart? I went all the way through that for a mere sea chart?!” Sato yelled at the TV screen. Hiro would have told her that the TV couldn’t hear her screams, no matter how loud they were. Ohiko would have simply chuckled and told her to keep going because he knew there would be better treasure chests. She liked Ohiko’s comments better, she decided.
“Imooto-san, you’d better start getting ready for school.” Ohiko informed her, peaking his head around the door. He glanced at the TV screen. “Hey, what was in that treasure chest?”
“A sea chart… Of all the things it could have been, it had to be a sea chart…” She complained, slamming the controller onto the floor.
“There will always be something better in the next one, don’t you worry.” He smiled at her. “Anyway, I’m leaving in half an hour. If you’re not ready I’ll go without you.”
“Okay, okay…” She saved the game as her brother left. She turned off the GameCube and TV, got her prepared uniform from inside her wardrobe and made her way to the bathroom.
“That’s better.” She said to herself as she finished showering and dressing for school. She searched the shelf for her glasses and once she found them she whipped the condensation from them.
She looked at her watch. She still had ten minutes. She wondered back to her room and flopped onto her bed. She stared at the ceiling wondering what the next chest on Wind Waker would contain. Maybe some rupees. Maybe the boomerang. Maybe the-
“I’m going now!” Ohiko called up the stairs, breaking Sato’s trail of thought.
“No! Wait!” She did this at the beginning of every year, it seemed. She grabbed her school bag, was tempted to slide down the banister but ran down the stairs instead, slipped on her shoes, left the house and sprinted off down the street after her brother.
Once she arrived, her brother went off with his friends after they had said goodbye. Although they didn’t know of his nerdy ways, being around Sato would have brought them out in an instant and his “cool” reputation would be shattered in front of his friends.
She sat by herself at the Director’s speech. She couldn’t help but stare at the red star that sat next to the sun in the sky. She knew that she was one of few that could see it, but she had no idea who else could.
She must have started daydreaming again about the event of her summer because by the time she had got back to reality, there was a group of people telling her to get out of the way. Apologizing, she got up and made her way to her first class of the day.
Sato stood outside the door impatiently. She had been one of the last to leave but still not everyone was here yet. Not even the teacher. Maybe he was helping out with the clearing up? She sighed, thinking back to the summer again and trying to think what that red star meant…
“I guess the teacher isn’t here yet.” A girl whispered to another. It was strange, but she didn’t recall meeting them before. Now was her chance to be normal.
Just don’t say anything geeky and you’ll be fine… She reassured herself.
“No. I think they were helping with the ceremony stuff.” Sato said. Was she being rude by doing this? “Are you in this class too? I’m Sato, Kiyaka Sato.”
She smiled, waiting for their response. What was she doing? She was never this outgoing. What they didn’t know was there were butterflies crashing into each other inside her stomach which were making her feel uneasy.
“Always nice to meet a fellow student! I’m Uzaki Yuki. And this,” she nodded towards the girl who had whispered before, “is Kazoe Ami.”
They both smiled back at her. The butterflies in her stomach disappeared and were replaced by a warm feeling. Mostly of gratitude, she guessed.
The teacher arrived and they all filed in, taking their seats. Sato was by the window and she couldn’t help but stare out at that red star…
“Kiyaka… Kiyaka Sato… Kiyaka!” The teacher called. Sato flinched at the last one as it was rather louder than the others. She turned her attention back to the class.
“Here, sensei.” She replied.
The rest of the day went quite quickly and smoothly. Sato didn’t meet anyone new, but then again she wasn’t really paying much attention to those around her. She packed her things away at the final bell and made her way outside.
“Sato-san!” Ohiko called. “I’m going back to a friends’ house. You’ll be alright on your own, right?”
She nodded, he waved and went off with his friend. He knew she’d say it was okay, but he always had to ask her.
She noticed one of the girls she had met earlier, Yuki, walking off campus with a few other people. Now was her chance. She picked up the pace and caught up with them.
“Umm, Yuki-sempai? May I walk with you?” She asked, trying her hardest not to blush at this point. She had never been much of a social person but this wasn’t as hard as it had once seemed. Although at the back of her mind she was fearing rejection.

Note: the farthest extent of my jap lit knowledge is reading "Thousand Cranes", and that book's plot was too freakin disturbing for me to comprehend.
Nagi
=====
"Notice, my students, how the author emphasizes the tree's sturdiness. 'Against all odds... growing... living... surviving...for what reason do you persist?' Indeed, why does a tree, or anyone in particular have the will to survive? Do they have will? If they do, what causes it? If they don't, why live? Ah, there's the bell, your homework today is to write a 2 page essay on your thoughts and interpretation of the poem, due the next time I'm in class!"
There were several murmurings after that, some saying this was an insane amount of homework given on the first day of school, others saying that actually it would be quite easy, figuring (quite accurately) I probably won't be back in class for another month or so. I gave a warm, generous smile. It was exciting, watching all these students go about with their regular lives, oblivious to the dangers and events that occur around them. Well, most of them oblivious... some of them...
"Wakahisa Amaya! Tanaka Anko!" As many of the students were steadily streaming out of my classroom, I picked out two girls in particular to stay back and have a sweet little conversation with. They, however, didn't seem as happy to be staying around.
"Ah, two very strong girls, abandoned at birth, but with strength, confidence, and trust, have grown to be students of the Fuuka Academy! I truly admire your dedication and work in this class!"
"Sensei, this is the first day of class..." Amaya stated bluntly.
"...and you weren't even here until the last 10 minutes," Anko finished.
"Well, that's true, but from what I've heard and seen of you, you two are the perfect little princesses of this school!" I smirked at the snide remark. Amaya ducked her head down, her brown hair covering her eyes so that I couldn't see them very well, while Anko on the contrary gave me an incredibly sharp angry glare, so strong that I had wished SHE had covered her eyes as well. Neither of them have realized that they were both himes, yet.
"...and well what do you know, here comes your prince in shining armor as well!" I noted as Director Koyuki came into the classroom, chatting with some of his associates.

!!!

"Well it was nice chatting with you two, but I must leave, I have some errands to run," I said hastily, and ran out of the classroom and around the hall. When I was absolutely sure that there was no one around, I hurriedly opened the nearest window and...

"Going off to play with more himes again? How despicable."

My heart skipped a beat. Mudo Freya. I don't know how I missed her standing just right there, against the wall, most likely daydreaming again but now glaring sharply at my direction. For the moment, I felt that if I made a move, something would happen...
"Freya-chan! I assume you're angry about Yumi..."
No response.
"Well, you know that its all necessary, leaving the hime in danger so that the pressure can finally cause her to release her powers..."
Still no response. I was getting anxious.
"...you know, your beloved director is just around the corner! Why don't you go have a chat with Koyuki-sama?"
"Ah!" Immediately her face blushed deep red, and I took the moment to quickly jump out of the window, leaving her on her own. I landed with grace onto one of the branches of the tree, then ran towards the direction of the greenhouse. I didn't have to run far, however, when I noticed a large explosion, enough to confirm everything that I needed to know.
-----
I quickly jumped from branch to branch, trying to find the nearest group of people I can warn...No, not just any person, but... then I saw them. Aya, Maiyuki, Iyako, and Sato. The timing couldn't have been better.
"Aya-chan! Sato-chan! I'm so glad you're here! Look, there's danger, there are orphans, 5 of them... they're chasing after two students, Kaname and Ami, I believe, were their names..."
"danger?"
"Orphan?"
"Kaname?"
"Ami?"
Each individual stated their name of preference at the exact same time. Aya's face immediately straightened out, while Sato became stiff with anxiety.
"You guys stay here, I'll look into this..." Aya-chan began to run off, but Maiyuki held onto her arm before she could escape.
"Wait!" Maiyuki exclaimed. "What do you mean they're in danger? Ami is in danger? I can't leave her like that, I have to go too!"
"Me!...too..." Iyako followed up, though trailing off a bit in the end.
"But..." Aya seemed worried about their enthusiasm to follow.
"GAME TIME!!!!!" Sato exclaimed. Everyone just stared at her for a split second. "I mean... I can help too!"
"Let them come," I smiled confidently at Ayu. "I'm sure they can be of... help..."
My eyes suddenly caught the image of the same bland blue-haired girl, conversing with two other girls, one rather frizzy haired and the other seeming to merely tail behind the other... who... oh crap.
"...look, I'll try to get more help to come, why don't you guys go on down first? Three Orphans are going after Kaname, they're heading towards the greenhouse... the other two are after Ami and heading towards the cave north of here. I gotta split, and you guys probably should too." Before any of them could say anything, I lept off towards the direction the trio was heading towards... that hime... is in danger....

SUTEKI SAKURA!! WATCH OUT!!!
-----
"Dammit! I lost them!" I had been trailing them for several minutes, but in the end they turned a corner and suddenly disappeared. Where the hell could they be...? I searched all through the forest, the school, pathways...
"Nagi."
I recognized that voice. I turned around and gave the arriving businesswoman a cold, dangerous smile. So, she WAS behind this....
"Ah, president of the First District, I'm honored that you made your presence to me... I am terribly sorry about what happened to your facility earlier, I sure hope no one got hurt..."
"Oh, not a problem. Not a problem at all." She took out a pack and lit a cigarette, then offered one to me. I accepted it graciously. "In fact, it was rather benefical. Who knew one of our own faculty members was connected to a hime? Quite informative, indeed."
"Tch. What do you want?" I demanded tersely.
"Oh, you know our two faithful students, Miyu and Alyssa, yes? I believe they're making some new friends right about now, and will be arriving here shortly. Miyu, you already saw, has been targeting Suteki Sakura, while Alyssa, the blessed little talented girl, is having a charming conversation with that lovely american lookalike, Tori Fuujiko. I'm sure you will stay and watch, won't you?" She grinned as the ground began to rumble underneath us, as if something was coming out... an... orphan?!?

OK!! BALL TO!!!! *takes a deep breath*
-PolHaruko-san, Asayake, B4, and Prof. Jb Wolf. The damn director doesn't do anything while I have to run around tagging everyone, so here'sa few girls for flirting around with him, or whatever :p (Note to B4: I know you last posted an interaction with Marlakay(sp?) but since this is afternoon, it would be a different timeline... I think it should be okay.)
-Tsukasa, Sheila Rae, Roy Karrde, Pokemonluver (what a really spontaneous post :p) and Chiko-sai (note: I'll PM you about ways you can do this later) on having fun with Orphans!
-VirtualPlay and Malheur. IF YOU ARE STILL INTERESTED IN THIS RPG, YOU MUST POST SOMETHING OR ELSE UGLY THINGS WILL HAPPEN TO YOUR CHARACTER!!! even just "so this one girl came up and told me to follow her" will suffice, just POST SOMETHING!!! One line post, half a line post, 2 word post (I don't think that's possible though o_O) just post something!!!
Oh, simple basic facts about Miyu and Alyssa:
-Miyu has slight, red eyes, shoulder length very pale blue hair, and always has a cold, serious expression. Doesn't look like a nice little girl at all.
-Alyssa, in the anime, was a child, but she's grown up now. :o She of course still has yellow hair, though i would imagine it would be decently long by now. She's a lot more "pretty" than Miyu, but she also has a rather cool disposition and isn't exactly the most friendly person you've met. In fact, she's rather sarcastic...

Name: Suteki Sakura
Age: 17
Physical Appearance: Rather tall for her age, she's 172cm (or almost 5'8"), and slightly skinny, weighing about 54kg (almost 120 lbs). Her hair is dark brown and very frizzy, but it's long enough that the weight of it straightens it a little and it reaches to her shoulders (though if you were to pull it straight it would reach halfway between her shoulders and the small of her back). Her eyes are a very bright green color, though people swear they've seen her eyes as being blue, despite having seen them as green before.
School Uniform: Female, tan top (with the black skirt); her summer alternative has short sleeves on both shirts.
Casual Outfit: Most often wears something rather girly, almost always a skirt and shirt. Her favorite is a slightly worn, light blue jean skirt that reaches just above her knees (though it used to reach lower), either a light blue or white baby-doll shirt, and a pair of white sandals. In the winter she wears the same skirt, but with a long-sleeve shirt (same colors), white tights, and a white pair of soft sneakers.
Personality: Sakura is a very friendly girl, always wanting to make more friends while keeping the old ones. She loves her friends and would do most anything for them. She's usually the voice of comfort when things are going wrong...that is, unless things are going wrong to her alone. At this point, she breaks down, and it takes a lot of convincing to get her back to her normal happy self again.
Element: Dual Tonfas (w00t)
Child: Harry (Tiger)
Location of Birthmark: On the front of her right shoulder
Relationships: Sakura has a boyfriend, Gouchoku Yukito, whom she's known since kindergarten and has been together with since they were 11. Usually, whenever Sakura breaks down after having things go wrong against her, Yukito is the one who cheers her back up, and it takes a lot less for him to cheer her up than anyone else. {Yukito is a 5'11" slim-but-muscular guy with messy dark-brown hair and light brown eyes, also 17.}
History: She has lived rather close to Fuuka Gakuen, though her parents were considering sending her to the more-local school when she got to the right age. However, upon learning that Yukito was going to Fuuka, Sakura pleaded with her parents to let her go to Fuuka as well, and seeing that she was honestly intent on going, they sent her there. Now she's happily going to school with Yukito, and has a fair number of classes with him.
Other: {OOC} This will be…interesting for me. Never played a girl with an NPC boyfriend before. {/OOC}

~~~~ Suteki Sakura ~~ Harry - Dual Tonfas ~~~~
"Sakura-chan! Breakfast is ready!" A voice from downstairs woke me up when two alarm clocks had failed. The prospect of breakfast was always worth getting up for school, especially when Onii-chan made it for me. My father cooked well, but he slept in most days, and my mother was almost always out of the house before I woke up in the morning.
Sitting up, I looked around my room, trying to shake the rest of the sleep from my head. Slowly I got out of bed, setting it back to its usual neat state. I threw off my pajamas, changed my unmentionables, then put on my school uniform, which I had left on my chair the night before. Hurriedly grabbing my brush and a black scrunchie, I went downstairs, putting my hair into a ponytail as I went.
"About time, your food's starting to get cold," Onii-chan said as I came into the kitchen. My onii-chan, Maiku, was 20, but still lived at home. He had the same brown hair and green eyes I did, though his hair was usually kept short. He was also about four inches taller than me, though he rarely picked on me since we're close to the same age.
"Gomen," I said, sitting down at my seat. My eye caught the clock above the table. "Yikes! It's 8:30 already? I better hurry! Itadakemasu!" I finished, and started to eat as quickly as was safe. I had barely finished at 8:40 when the doorbell rang.
"You go see who it is, I'll take care of your plate," Onii-chan said, and I rushed over towards the front door, stepping through the genkan to open the door. On the other side was a big surprise waiting for me.
"Yukito-kun!" I cried happily, running up and giving him a hug.
He returned the hug and chuckled a bit, "Good morning, Sakura-chan." We broke after a few seconds and I looked at him curiously.
"Why are you over here?" I asked suspiciously. "You live on the other side of school!"
He gave me a sarcastic grin, "So what, I can't do something extra-special for you on the first day of school? Oh well, I guess I'll just walk to school on my own," he added with a sideways look.
"Oh, Yuuuuki-chaaaan…" I said, giving him a playful punch. Calling him that wiped the smirk off his face easily.
"Oi, you know I hate being called that…" he said, grimacing a bit from the girlish name.
"Then you'll stay and walk with me? Good!" I said with a wink, before disappearing upstairs to get my bag. By the time I had gone back downstairs and gotten my shoes on, Yukito-kun was waiting outside the fence.
"So, ready for school?" he said as we started walking. It was only a ten minute walk, but ten minutes still held a lot of time for talking.
"I guess," I said, "I mean, I don't think I forgot anything over the summer. I just hope there's nothing radically different."
"I know what you mean…" Yuki started, and we entertained ourselves like this for the rest of the walk. We got there five minutes before nine, and found a pair of seats near the back of the assembled crowd.
The Director's speech was nothing really new, and afterwards Yukito-kun went to hang out with some of his guy friends before first period. It turned out classes were relatively easy considering it should have been a lot harder than last year.
I didn't yet realize the hard part of the school year wasn't going to be a class.
Yukito-kun hadn't been in my last class of the day, so I wandered around the school grounds looking for him. I hoped he hadn't already gone home without at least saying goodbye first. As I went around the front of the school, someone called my name.
"Suteki-san!" I turned back to see a blue-haired girl coming out of the front doors of the school. She descended the stairs while watching me, another girl in tow behind her.
"Do I…know you?" I asked when she had gotten down all the stairs.
"Probably not. I'm Gleer Miyu," she said.
"Suteki Sakura," I returned, a little hesitantly. I must have been imagining it, but I could have sworn she was seeing through me with those red eyes of hers. I went to ask her why she was talking to me, but she answered my question before my mouth was fully open.
"I heard from some people that you're 'special,' or so they say." My heart skipped a beat before my brain rationalized the statement. It probably didn't have to do with my HiME powers; aside from the other HiME, I hadn't told anyone, not even Yukito-kun. "I like meeting people whom others consider to be special." She said the last sentence with a smile, but I could feel something wasn't right with it.
"Well, I like making new friends, so I can't really turn you down," I said, putting myself back into my typical cheery mode. At least, I made it appear that way; I was definitely going to keep an eye on this Miyu girl. I continued talking, "I'm just walking around, looking for my boyfriend. I hope he's still around, or I might have to hurt him the next time I see him." I giggled and smiled brightly to show I wasn't being serious…at least, not completely serious.
"Oh that's no problem," she said, "and I'd be glad to help you if you need to teach him anything." As we started walking again, I swore I could hear Nagi's voice in my head, but I shrugged it off; it was probably just from being stressed. That and he had looked at me funny when I had passed him in the halls earlier, so he was probably still just haunting my mind. My wariness of Miyu must've mixed with Nagi's image in my head.
Emotional Faun Chiko-sai
Fujiwara Kanna, Yatagarasu
völuspá "part two - birdwatching"
Supporting cast: Fujiwara Tsuneo
-------------------------
Tsuneo, at the gate, watches the two crows perched on the ornate cast-iron lamppost bicker and fight over a piece of rotten meat. The sheen on their dark feathers reflects in the endless black of his own eyes. The birds' argument quietens suddenly, the larger one dropping the meat, gazes fixed on something behind him. He turns away, and sees his sister approaching.
"Hey, Tsuneo."
"Aneki."
"Did you have to wait long?"
"Not really. I was watching the crows."
"It's just like you to do boring things like that. Where's the okama?"
"Aniki hasn't come yet."
The two crows on the lamppost caw simultaneously. There follows a rousing chorus of similar cawing from the forest all the way to the trees surrounding the school's greenhouse. Out of the corner of his eye Tsuneo notices his sister stiffen, very slightly. The way he perceives her now, from his lower elevation, lets him observe the turn of her fine head, cocked to the side, black-tan-and-auburn profile stark against the sky. The human mirror of the birds on the lamppost.
...Aneki is like a crow.
Then: "We don't need to wait for him, he's probably romancing with Iya-tan."
They walk back home talking as usual, but Tsuneo sees that all the crows are gone, and Kanna seems to him to be functioning on autopilot, mind far away. He won't ask her anything now, if she doesn't want to answer. For now he is content to watch the crows.
*
Kanna, in her other self (that holds the flute and melds with the air and hides in the shadows) is worried. There are three Orphans at the greenhouse. She will not be able to handle them on her own.
Here is the scene: one large, flattish and partially avian Orphan, perched above her brother, about to dive. It dives, finally, jaws wide. Kaname is brave; he does not flinch. That may be because he is shackled to the wall of the greenhouse by another Orphan, this one in snake-coils and tentacles. The third one is-
The third one slashes a large claw over the muzzle of the first one. It bickers with the first Orphan over possesion of the prize. And the second one is slowly, slowly inching Kaname over into its own gullet.
Not if she can help it. The struggle may be futile, but at least she tried. The promise to her mother holds strong. The family has to stick together.
When the dark energy begins pooling about her feet, rising above her head, the droplets condensing into an enormous dark shape, she blows a single note into her flute. The black wings unfold rampant, the eyes glow scarlet. Three gargantuan claws, extensions of the same leg, lift the crow off the ground.
Yatagarasu knows what to do.
It wastes no time but swoops low over the Orphan with tentacles, belching a laser that severs Kaname from its grip and causes the Orphan to wail sickeningly in pain. The boy is quick on his feet; he bolts, and there is the clawed Orphan playing croquet with her brother, knocking him back to the greenhouse. Yatagarasu, quick as her thoughts, flicks knives at Orphan-with-wings and Orphan-with-tentacles, to distract them in their rampage, and charges another beam that hits the clawed Orphan straight in the ugly predatory face.
Run, you idiot, run!
But Kaname can't run; the tentacles are at it again, and Yatagarasu has claws in its stomach though it fights valiantly with her will to guide it it can't retaliate fast enough Kaname is going to be eaten by Orphans and she can't do anything with the flute and-
A strike, flashing white, cuts the claws off the Orphan menacing her crow. Immediately, Yatagarasu blasts the tentacled Orphan to holy hell. Another HiME has arrived. Who is it?
Kanna turns, and is surprised.
--------------------
Couldn't resist posting ^^; tag to anyone who feels like helping?? Kanna is physically walking home with her youngest brother, but her spirit image (with the flute) is lurking somewhere about the greenhouse trying to kill three Orphans with one crow and a dinky flute.
Mudo Freya
Gennai
The Orphan was easily disposed of by Julia, Terada-sai’s child. As soon as it was finished, she ran to the fallen figure which I was guarding. She looked at me… confused, as if she did not understand. I made my dagger disappear, and looked at her with a rather saddened gaze.
“What… what…” she trailed off, confused. No doubt she recognized who I was, and I withdrew a breath.
“ You are a HiME, I would think Nagi told you that. There are others like you… no doubt you’ll find them in time.” I knew I should be getting to class… no doubt I’d be late.
“ If you have more questions… find me after school. I have class.”
I then darted off swiftly, running towards the school.
Soon I had arrived to class, and everyone stared at me.
“Gomen nasai…” I said quietly, taking a seat as the teacher began to explain more. No one asked me where I was, it turned out there were many people who were absent. So the day went on… droning onwards as I stared out the window.
So if another one awakened… how many did that leave? I was pretty sure that meant there were only a couple left… and if that was the case, the plan Nagi was brewing with was almost complete. It was annoying… I knew there was some thing he wasn’t telling us. Some thing wasn’t right about this… the thought of sacrificing our lives to defeat this Orphans… it just didn’t seem right. Some thing was definitely different… wrong…
It wasn’t just Nagi either. There were others who bothered me… but they bothered me for different reasons.
Classes ended, and I turned to see Nagi talking to the other two girls in my class. I narrowed my eyes… anyone he took interest in, I did as well. Nagi didn’t talk to those who didn’t play a role in his despicable ideals.
"Going off to play with more himes again? How despicable." I retorted as soon as he ushered them outside. Nagi’s eyes widened… obviously surprised and he obviously forgot I was there. I stood against the wall, giving him dagger-like eyes as he bumbled on, trying to come up with some lame excuse again. I probably was the only HiME- or person- who could get a reaction from Nagi like that.
It was probably fate, because when I was awakened myself- his first project I was told – I had tried to kill him.
However… I lost concentration when suddenly he mentioned Director Koyuki-sama. My face instantly flared up like a fire, which Nagi took the opportunity to leave immediately.
I was left standing there… my heart thudding. If he was outside that door… there was no way I would be going out. The window? Maybe taking Nagi’s idea of the window wouldn’t be horrible.
Unlike most girls at Fuuka, I did not like to give my presense to Koyuki-sai. Yes, I had felt foolish… foolish at the fact that I had fallen completely for him, like many other girls. It had been strange as well… for I had never liked anyone like this before- I hadn’t liked another man, ever. Always absorbed into my studies and most importantly- my music- I had no time for foolish emotions like …
“ Mudo Freya?”
Suddenly my eyes opened wide as I saw none other Dir. Rokugan. My face flushed ever further, as he peered his head through the doorway in a gentle manner like usual.
“Kon’nichi wa Rokugan-sai…” I trailed off, looking directly at him and instantly feeling the urge to run. He was about to say some thing, but I quickly took the opportunity to notice there was an opening in the doorway between his body and the doorframe. I didn’t wait and I quickly darted through, brushing up against him. (Which immediately caused my heart to die momentarily and my face to turn into a burning inferno.)
I remember hurriedly saying ‘good bye’ of some sort…as I took off.
Running down the hallway I nearly ran over Miyu, but I didn’t take time to talk to her. She didn’t really talk to me… or take interest in me. (wonder why THAT is Engi… mwhaha..) Unlike a few of the other girls.
“Mudo!” I was outside, nearly ready to head home when some one called my name. Turning around I looked to see my Sempai. He was great with music… and I couldn’t help but smile at him as he quickly scampered over to me. Actually he was the head of all music… directing the choir and what-not.
“ Are you not going to come to practice? I thought you were preparing to unravel a song to me…” He trailed off, and I smiled and shook my head.
“I’m busy today… I really wanted to come, but I’m not ready yet. Besides… you can have Alyssa sing for you. We all know that she’s the b-“
“What are you saying?” He suddenly burst out, laughing lightly to himself as if it were some joke. I was instantly confused… standing there as everyone was heading to their dorms or homes.
“ Mudo, you don’t realize how talented you are at singing… are you?”
I remained silent… his words were not very welcoming. I didn’t believe I had the talent to ever deserve a title of a great singer.
“ You hear Alyssa’s voice and immediately proclaim it better than yours. It’s only natural… because you are your worst critic. The way you hear your voice is always different the way others hear it. You’re voice… is beautiful. I was hoping you would sing at the upcoming Festival…” he trailed off, and immediately my face flushed red.
“ I don’t know… I..”
“ Mudo, you haven’t let anyone hear you sing… have you?”
My face blushed yet again, “Well… Lily-chan..”
“You’re maid doesn’t count.” He said with a chuckle, but he seemed to accept that I was at least thinking of his offer.
“ Come tomorrow and we’ll discuss this further. Have a good night Mudo.” He trailed off, giving a light nod as I nodded as well. I watched him walk off for quite a time… and withdrew a deep breath. I didn’t believe I deserved such a title to sing.
I started to walk home… until suddenly my senses easily flashed. There was some thing wrong… and I ran off in the direction I thought some thing perhaps was not right.
There it was… three Orphans by the Greenhouse… attacking a boy that I recognized to be Kaname. However, there was a transparent figure with a flute, ordering a crow-like child. I instantly knew who it was… (I didn’t pay attention/occasionally follow Nagi around for nothing.)
“ Fujiwara Kanna.” I said suddenly, and instantly my dagger appeared in my hand. The tenticales of the Orphan was at Kaname, and in a brilliant flash I dart and sliced the tenticales away from him. Kanna’s image looked at me, and I looked back at her. I narrowed my eyes and gave her a nod. Instantly I leapt into the air, barely dodging the large winged Orphan that was swooping about.
“Gennai!” I suddenly yelled, knowing that three Orphans would need the work of Gennai with Kanna’s child.
A monsterious Toad suddenly uprose from the ground, and as he did so I quickly ran to Kaname.
“Kaname-chan… come here!” I grabbed his arm and jerked him away just as the winged-Orphan was about to eat him for dinner. Kanna’s child instantly gave a screeching cry as it met the winged-Orphan, leaving enough time for me to drag Kaname away. I finally stopped yanking on his arm when he was behind Gennai, and left him there.
“Go! Get away! Go home!” I yelled at him, leaping on top of Gennai. Kanna’s child looked as if it were getting the upperhand of the winged Orphan… so I took the opportunity to take care of the Tenticale one. I was rather impatient… so the idea of destroying the monster as quick as possible, to get to the other Orphan, was ideal.
“Jigoku Gama!” I cried out to Gennai, and he instantly summoned his generators to rise upwards from his back. He powered up, as I quickly leapt into the air and threw my dagger downwards. It instantly landed behind the Orphan, sticking into it’s shadow to hold it in place as Gennai powered up.
“Now!” I cried out, and Gennai instantly opened his mouth and in a blaze a huge, metallic spiked ball came out from his mouth. It ripped into the Orphan’s body, causing it to give out a large shriek as it was defeated, slumping to the ground and disappearing. Kanna had disposed of the other creature… and now it was just one Orphan left.
“Kanna… erm… Kanna’s image… ermm.. whatever, attack together!” I said, looking back to see Kaname was indeed gone.
~Kiyaka Sato- Duran- Infinate Pistols~
"I'm so stupid..." Sato thought to herself as she and the other three girls ran towards the green houses. "Always opening my mouth and saying embarrassing things..."
She struggled to keep up but knowing that there were Orphans around made her try harder. She didn't like the situation Nagi had put her and her Oniisan into during the summer. Apparantly it was to reveal her powers to her, but she thought he could have done it in a less difficult manner. It didn't matter now, she supposed, it was all in the past.
They arrived and at once she recognised the older of the two girls there. Mudo Freya was a Hime too? It didn't surprize her, when she thought about it, because wherever she saw Nagi, Mudo was bound to be lurking around the corner.
She snapped back to the situation at hand as a flash of the orphan's claw caught her eye. She caught the pistols that were spinning by her hands, aimed and shot a single bullet at the claw, diverting its path. The Orphan howled in pain, its voice deep. Its red eyes glared at Sato. It sent a slight chill down her spine but it didn't shake her confidence.
"Game on." She muttered to herself, smurking a little.
She ran at it, both arms outstretched and firing at the Orphan. She had no idea what the other Hime were doing, but she knew what she had to do.
She spun the pistols on her fingers and made an X shape with her arms still outstretched. A blue circle of light glowed beneath her feet causing the orphan to be slightly blinded.
"Duran!" Sato called forth her Child. A howl was heard as her child jumped out in front of her. She gripped her pistols tightly. She had only ever had to do this once before, but she was pretty sure she could do it again.
"Load silver cartridges." She commanded. She fired a couple of shots from her own pistols to keep it at bay until Duran was ready. "Fire!"
Two silver bullets shot from the guns on Duran's back. They shattered in mid-air, turning into around twenty or so iceicles and slamming into the body of the orphan.
Sato wasn't sure what happened next. Duran had pounced at her, knocking her out of the way of a flailing claws. The next thing she saw was not just the one orphan, oh no, but that the orphan had split in two.
"What have you done?!" One of the other Himes screamed. She didn't turn around to look. She was too ashamed of what she had done.
"I tried! I really did try!" She called back at them.
One of the two orphans made a run for it. Sato was almost certain that it would be going after Kaname. She turned around and ran upto Iyako, motioning for Duran to follow.
"It's going after Kaname. Come on, we've got to follow it!" She said to her.
Iyako nodded. She looked from Sato to Duran and back again. Maybe she has realised that she is like me. A Hime. Sato thought.
Iyako and Sato ran from the green houses and attempted to follow the orphan.
Sorry i had to cut it short... Being kicked off.
Ding-dong the witch is dead. That was the first thing that flashed though my mind as I saw Julia kill the monster. Julia was beautiful to me, though I had the slight feeling that I was the only one who considered it. My attention had been brought to a student who had walked into the middle of the fight, standing over my mentally immobile sister. An unwanted surge of gratitude came to me when I looked at the stranger…though I couldn’t help but think that I had seen her before in the offices. She was someone to trust, and I could feel it. Turning back to the fight, I witnessed Julia moving quickly with the eight legs, and deadly webs. The monster did not appear to have a chance, an sure enough it fell to the ground dead. It’s body left my sight as I turned to run towards Naki and…. Freya? She told me about meeting her after school, which I intended to keep in mind for later that day. I watched her leave and then turned to look at my sister.
“Get up you slug….” I said to her and she easily stood, looking more afraid then that she did on the ground. “You know…that Freya girl came to more use then you ever did. And she is a student here at the academy. Shows you something doesn’t it?” I said coldly as I started to walk away from her. There was nothing else around that would cause her pain, so really there was no use for me to be there at all. She made sound of protest for her defense, but I simply said over my shoulder “Why don’t you call the ambulance or something, that way you could say you did something productive.”
Walking out of the wrecked building, I started to think about the pain in my feet from the glass and wondered if I should wait for a doctor. No, there were more important things to deal with at the moment, like work. Walking across the hot concrete was horrible, and to my own anger, I winced at every step. When I finally reached the doors and opened them with relief. The cool floor was nice to walk on. I automatically went into work mode as I slightly jogged down the hall. Luckily all the classes were over for the day or else they would have heard me cursing with every couple feet of moving. Finally reaching the office portions of the school, I flung the door open and ran into a few of my co-workers who had started to leave the room. They stopped the chatter and glanced up at me with disbelief. I forgot about my appearance up until this point where I stood in front of others. My skirt was tattered and appeared that I was some groupie for a rock band. Cuts had dried, creating sticky blood, especially the cut across my cheek. Bruises weren’t missing out on the damage either.
“Well? I ran into a dog on the way to work ok?” I said while glaring at everyone who dared to smile. I stomped my way over to the desk over near the corner, which held a computer and a file cabinet in the corner. An extremely large file cabinet. Sitting down at the desk, I realized that I didn’t really feel like doing paper work. Instead I watched everyone leave and then attempted to think about what just happened…. there was something that I realized before the battle had occured.
Nagi. Suspicion, yes that was it. How did he happen to get the job so quickly? And why the warning…. Oh damn. He knew about the monsters. They only came when he was there. It all connected. Freya even said something about him. HiME? Fury replaced anger now. Those people dead and my sister in danger all because of him. I quickly turned to look out of the window to find a bit of peace before I started flipping over desks to find him. I felt my eye twitch when I saw no other then the wonderful Nagi standing outside, a little ways off from the building.
“You have time to smoke a cigarette with your girlfriend but no time to help?” I tried my best to keep it quiet but I ended up screaming the end of the sentence. I stood quickly, reached out, and unfastened the lock on the window. Thrusting it open quickly, I jumped out of the window, only seeing red. Obviously the man was so absorbed in his conversation that he didn’t hear her coming up from the side. She wished she had those claws with her.
“Lovely…” I muttered as she felt the weight on my hands once more. Nagi held the cigarette in between two fingers ready to take a drag.
“You bastard!” I yelled as I held a hand out and moved a single finger, which resulted in cleaving the cigarette in half. I only glanced at the other woman, as if daring her to interrupt, which I was happy to see she didn’t. “You left me to die! You knew it didn’t you? Are you trying to kill everyone? Is that why you got the teaching position so quickly? Because you killed the last professor? I ought to take these…things and claw your face off!” I hadn’t noticed the earth shaking until now.
“Another one?” I growled, thinking of the monster before, as I took a poorly aimed swipe at Nagi who easily avoided it.
“Yes, another one,” he replied with a sense of calm that scared me a little bit. What was up with this guy? And who was the woman that was standing there, watching us as if we were two very interesting comedians? He seemed to notice me staring at the woman with curiosity “And this is…” Who she was, he didn’t get to say, for the shaking became more noticeable. I hoped that it wasn’t as big as the one before.
Tange, Aya
Vlas
Last week it came in the mail, along with a myriad of other things from the school. To me, a letter from the school personified the term: Junk Mail. So with much glee I shredded it with the paper shredder. Today I was paying for my stupidity. “You forgot it, didn’t you?” Yuki teased with much joy in her voice. I tensed up a bit at the sound of it, I wanted to punch her square in the jaw, and all the self-restraint that I could muster was the only thing stopping me. “It’s alright! Just go get another copy!” She added.
I rolled my eyes and walked away from them. I had a thing for teachers and authority figures; well to tell the truth I hated them. Snatching a copy of my schedule from the table, which in itself was way too much of a hassle, maybe it was some kind of punishment for losing your last schedule. I slowly marched to class. I thanked whatever God or Supreme Being that governed over us that it was only half a day. Sitting in that plastic chair was already hell and it caused me to squirm every few minutes. I felt trapped, closed in, in a classroom, I hated being like that.
After class I finally got to meet up with Yuki and Ami. The two were always buddy buddyish, and really I would kill just to get a day or so alone with Yuki. If it didn’t mean having to have Yuki meet my family, I could maybe…possibly, become friends with her. “So, did you make it to all your classes fine?” Yuki asked walking over to me and snapping myself out of my own plots to kill Ami.
“Yeah. Although I could strangle those people that handed out schedules, what idiots” I sighed clenching and unclenching my fist. Just the thought of having to stand in line and then going through the whole process of identifying yourself was enough to drive anyone insane.
“Calm yer jets, girl” She smiled giving me a nudge and glancing in the direction of Kaname and another girl. “At least you wont end up like THAT loser,” She yelled placing emphasis on that.
“Hey! What’s that supposed to mean, Ms. MAIyuki?” Kaname retorted, I clinched my fist again. How dare he speak to Yuki like that, he really should pay and I was just the person to make him pay. I had taken on boys stronger than him; I could take him down easily. Yuki patted my shoulder gently knowing that I was five seconds away from flattening Kaname’s face. Another girl, Iyako came to Yuki’s defiance before Ami finally left to go help Mr. Musanagi. I truly thought that she would never leave.
“Ok! Give me a call when you’re done!” Yuki waved Ami off before turning back to Iyako and myself. “Well, wanna walk back into town with us?” She asked, and again we were off, finally on our way back home.
We hadn’t gotten very far before the trees above us rustled as leaves and branches dipped lower from an unseen weight on top of them. Before we knew it, Nagi had jumped down from the branch landing right in front of us, looking a bit ragged and out of breath. “Aya-chan! Sato-chan! I’m so glad you’re here! Look, there’s danger, there are orphans, 5 of them…they’re chasing after two students, Kaname and Ami, I believe, we’re their names…”
“Danger?” My mind woke up from it’s mid day slumber while walking with Yuki and Iyako. Unlike schoolwork, danger was something that I could handle, my body straightened up from the slouching position that I had taken while listening to Yuki drone on about something. Yuki was not in the position to go and do something dangerous, hell I doubt she could handle anything close to the magnitude of Orphan’s. “You guys stay here, I’ll look into this..” I replied quickly turning to the direction of where Ami was last. I took a few steps and found a steel like grip holding onto my arm.
“Wait” Yuki yelled tightening her grip on my arm. “What do you mean they’re in danger? Ami is in danger? I cant leave her like that, I have to go too” I rolled my eyes at the comment, it would be a lot harder fighting a Orphan when I had some one else to look after also.
“Me..too” Iyako spoke up.
“But..” I looked at both of them worried; they had no idea what kind of hell they were about to become a willing participant in.
“Game Time!” Seto exclaimed, I whipped around to look at her, what was she thinking this was, some kind of game? “I mean…I can help too” She added meekly.
“Let them come,” Nagi smiled confidently at me, that didn’t really help ease my worries but I wasn’t in the mood to fight with him. “I’m sure they can be of…help…” his voice trailed off as he noticed something off to my side.
“…look, I’ll try to get more help to come, why don’t you guys go on down first? Three Orphans are going after Kaname, they’re heading towards the greenhouse…the other two are after Ami and heading towards the cave north of here. I gotta split, and you guys probably should too.” He said rather quickly before leaping off. I turned to Yuki and reversed her grip on my arm so that I was gripping her arm.
“C’mon if you wanna get killed saving Ami that’s fine but we should hurry,” I said taking off in the direction towards the caves. A thought of a slowly dieing Kaname flashed through my mind, which caused me to spin around and yell back at the other too. “Try not to hurry, I’m sure Kaname is doing just fine by himself” I yelled back at them before turning back towards the direction of the caves.
As the terrain around us began to become less and less urban and was a clear sign that we were close to the caves, I opened my left hand and began to bring out my long bow. Suddenly Yuki’s shadow flashed next to me and I was reminded that she was still close to me and would find it odd that a long bow would be in my hands. “Thanks Yuki” I whispered under my breath, things were getting more and more complicated.
“Huh?” Yuki turned to me asking what I was thanking her for.
“Nothing” I sighed. “We’re close…I think” I looked around my fingers tensed at the thoughts of the upcoming battle. I had a feeling that this battle would be very bloody and very messy, I had two girls I had to look out for, one of which should die, and worst of all I had to hide my long bow. Oh today was becoming just the greatest day ever.
”Orphan... What kind of orphan attacks its own kind?” I thought to myself, expecting to see a small child or humanoid creature at the caverns we were headed to. Aya had a determined and serious look on her face as we ran through the forestry. Something was on her mind; I could tell. Maybe the battle ahead... Or another case, of which I did not know.
As I looked back at Aya again, the trees making her movements like a strobe light, I could see something form in her hands. Some blob like material was molding and spiraling in her right palm. She glanced over and me, and the liquid disappeared. “Thanks, Yuki...” She muttered, which was barely audible over the rustles of the leaves we ran through.
“Huh?” I oddly questioned, wondering why she was thanking me... I hadn’t done anything, not that I knew of at least.
“Nothing...” she gave a little sigh, “We’re close. I think...” tensing up a bit, her pace quickened. I tried to match it, but I fell a little behind since I wasn’t quite as fit for this sort of action.
~.|.~.|.~.|.~.|.~.|.~.|.~
We hastily made our way to the mountain’s base, where the entrance to the cave was located. Traversing through the tunnels, we were soon inside a large chamber that had a large hole in the ceiling, most likely as a result of the two giant beasts that loomed in front of us. “Wha-what are those monstrosities!?!” I asked Aya, in shock of the picture that was before my eyes.
“Those,” she smirked a bit, “are Orphans.” I was taken aback in disgust, but I made a quickly glance around the room.
I stared could see out into the twilight sky. A faded moon hung in the sky, like it had been painted there, and the red star, which always hung underneath, was there as well. I turned back to the scene to see Aya run off to the side, drawing the attention of the orphans from...
“AMI!” I shouted to her, but there was no response. Without a second thought, I ran straight to her, avoiding the battle Aya seemed to have under control, for the time being. ”Please, just hold them off a little longer.”
Safely making my way through the dust, I knelt down quickly next to Ami. She seemed unconscious, but there was still life in her. “Yuki-chan... I knew you’d come to save me.” She spoke weakly, as if she had been horribly thrashed and traumatized by the orphans.
“Yes. I’m here now. I’ll protect you from those...things.” I spoke softly, taking her in my arms, as if she were a baby. I moved her into a recession in the wall. “Just wait here and stay quiet.”
I turned from my center-of-attention to my ally, Aya. She was standing there, totally devoid of any emotion. Although our eyes met in an instant, the moment seemed to last an eternity. It was as if she was in awe. Neither of us could move. I was guilty of abandonment...and we both knew it. As we entered the cave, all that was on my mind was the safety of Ami. I had given not even the slightest care on what Aya did. She could have been killed and I’d have not even noticed.
I could see her lips move, mumbling “Yuki...”
“Aya, I’m sorry...” the words slipped out of my mouth as I forced my eyes towards the ground. She let down the bow that had been in her hands. I didn’t even know where it had come from, but it was there. I looked up again in sorrow of my mistake, but before I could even say another word, the arm of the large, gorilla-like orphan swung in from behind her. “AYA!!!” I screamed!
Her body shot across the room and smashed into the solid stone wall of the cave. The hawk-like orphan then dove in and swiped her across the chest. Even in the distance, I could see that she had been badly bruised and wounded.
With me as the only one left conscious, albeit totally defenseless, their sights quickly turned their last prey. While the hawk ascended high above this one-sided battle, the gorilla took the open opportunity. It grabbed a large boulder from nearby and hurled it towards Ami and me. A shrill scream released itself from my lungs and I thrust my arms out in front of me. Even though I knew my arms could never be able to deflect a boulder, it was the only thing I could think of to protect myself.
I prepared for the impact... counting down the last few seconds of my life in my head. “3........2........1.........” I felt the force of the rock as it hit, but there was no pain... Had I died that quickly? I opened my eyes to see a bright flash of light and a bracelet around each of my wrists. They floated in midair, spinning wildly in a circle. “Wha-...huh!?”
I STILL have not read every post in this RPG. ;_;
Every time I go to read them, I get interrupted. I'll edit this with more later, but for now it'll just be me waking up in the morning and going to the ceremony. Sorry for the lateness. ;_;
Name: Tori Fuujiko (とり ふうじこ)
Age: 16
Physical Appearance: urm...Fuujiko is rather short, only 5'3''. She has a thin build. Her hair is blonde, and goes a bit past her shoulder. Her eyes are very verrrry light, crystal blue. (think Winry Rockbell from FMA, but with different eyes)
School Uniform: uhh the 15-18 female uniform, with the green jacket, and long sleeves
Casual Outfit: A white t-shirt, with a red bird in the middle and the japanese characters とり, which means 'bird'; also, a red skirt, which is quite short. She has each of her ears pierced, and wears thick, red pinchers in each. (yeah, I'm too lazy to get a picture of pinchers, but you can google it lol)
Personality: Fuujiko is a very outgoing girl. She's not afraid to meet new people, or speak her mind. She loves to make friends, and she's quite good at keeping them. She is also rather mischevious. She loves to play jokes on everyone, even close friends. She tends to get flustered when talking about her feelings though, and hides her feelings from everyone.
Element: Scythe
Child: Kazahana (Demon)
Location of Birthmark: between her shoulder blades on her back
Relationships: Her dearest and closest friend, James. Originally from the US, he moved when his father had to be stationed in Japan. Fuujiko became his first friend, and taught him a lot about Japanese customs. They've been inseparable since the day they met.
History: Fuujiko comes from a rich family, and as a result has become somewhat spoiled. There has always been someone to tend to her every need. Her family has been attending Fuuka Academy for generations, and she, of course, would be attending as well.
Other: Fuujiko does not like animals, of any kind.
"Miss Fuujiko?"
"...Miss Fuujiko?"
Fuujiko stirred in her bed, slowly opening her eyes. "What time is it?" she muttered sleepily.
"Time for you to get up and get ready for school, Miss Fuujiko."
"Alright..." she said. She pulled back the covers, and stepped out of bed. The maid bowed herself from the room, and Fuujiko closed the door behind her. She walked into the bathroom, and found her clothes already laid out for her there. She undressed, and stepped into the shower. The warm water splashing against her face felt nice, and woke her up. When she finished in the shower, she pulled on her school uniform (she hated the long socks) and checked herself out in the mirror. She looked quite nice, she thought. And she was excited to be going to the Fuuka Academy. It was one of the most pretigious schools in Japan. She just prayed that she would be able to meet up with James before the Director started his speech.
Fuujiko brushed her teeth and hair, then left her room to have some tea before she left for school. She descended the stairs, went through the foyer, and into the kitchen. She asked one of the maids to get her some tea, and then sat down at the empty table. She always had tea alone in the morning. Her parents were either gone or busy doing something else. She didn't really mind though.
When she finally finished her tea, she grabbed her schoolbag and headed out the door. There was a slight breeze rustling the trees in her front yard, and it felt quite good. She hated it when the weather was too warm or too cold. Slowly, she made her way towards Fuuka Academy. She made there a tad bit early, but so had many other students. Everyone was bustling to get the seats they wanted, and she could see people saving seats for their friends. She decided she might as well sit down and save a seat for James.
With only a few minutes to go before the speech was to start, she still couldn't find James. Someone walked up and sat down next to her. "Sorry, but I'm saving that seat for my friend. Go find a different one," she said to him.
"Sorry, but I guess you're not saving it anymore. I just took it," he said, and started laughing. She pushed him onto the ground and smirked.
"And I just took it back. Now, leave me alone, jerk." He walked off, looking put out. She didn't really care. Some of the kids that went here pranced around like they owned the place. It made her kind of mad. Finally, she saw James walking towards her. "There you are!" she exclaimed. He sat down next to her, just as the Director stepped up to the podium.
Bah, more later. I must rush off. ^^;
"Nagi is such a pain in my assss"I talked to myself after talking to the Director for a little. How did he know I was adopted? It's not like it's in my school records or anything..but still. Amaya had left me in the middle of my conversation with the director, so I was by myself in walking home. I was walking the regular path home, looking up at the red dot that sat in the sky as I could hear a conversation not far by.
“…look, I’ll try to get more help to come, why don’t you guys go on down first? Three Orphans are going after Kaname, they’re heading towards the greenhouse…the other two are after Ami and heading towards the cave north of here. I gotta split, and you guys probably should too.” I heard Nagi's voice, which made me fill with rage. He then ran off, leaving what I could see as Aya and a girl named Maiyuki standing there. After saying something breif, Aya headed towards the cave along with Maiyuki. Finally..some action. I could atleast watch.
So, I walked my way to the cave. Aya could probably hold the orphan off, since like me...she could summon a child. I materialized my sword in my hand, and it dragged along with me - the weight of it being too heavy for someone like me, but it was still effective in killing Orphans without the help of my child, Miroku. As I got closer, the sounds of battle roared louder and louder..well..not so loud, but you get what I'm saying. I ran straight into the cave, lifting up my sword a little with all the adernaline in me. I saw a girl, Maiyuki, with weapons that spun around her wrists and ankles...another one. I then saw Aya and who I presumed to be Ami, against the wall, and badly injured.
"I'll take them to safetly."I said quickly to Maiyuki, and dematerialized my sword; grabbing Aya first and running outside, placing her in the grass. I then ran inside again quickly, ignoring the battle that raged inside, and grabbed Ami. After placing Ami down next to Aya, I almost fell to my knees myself. I wasn't especially good in upper-strength, so it took everything I could to take the 2 outside. I looked around to see if there was any Orphans, but there was none. I got up slowly and summoned Miroku, along with materializing my sword, and jumped onto Miroku.
We quickly levitated, about the cave, finding the large hole that would bring us into the chamber. I wasn't sure on Maiyuki being able to hold off 2 orphans, so I sucked in my breath, nd quickly called out..
"COME ON YOU BIG STUPID ORPHAN!!!"I whailed and threw a rock at it, and it came out from the top facing me and Miroku. I held onto the rope that was on Miroku, knowing that we'd have to move quickly in this battle. The orphan came at us quickly and Miroku hit it with his large spiked club. I held on for dear life as Miroku chased after the Eagle, who tried to run off after that one bashing.It was damaged though, and didn't get too far as Miroku quickly swat at it a few times, and it fell onto the grass, disappearing.
"Lets..go back to the 2..."I said, exhausted. He brought me back to Aya and Ami, none of who were awake, and disappeared once I made it on the ground. I fell onto my knees, my whole body feeling a bit heavy as I layed down, waiting for Maiyuki to come out..hopefully.
Sorry for the sucky post, a bit blah today and such...
Fujiwara Kanna, Yatagarasu
"bend the bracket"
-------------------------
Mudo Freya?
Kanna thinks of her as someone that everyone would like: fair, curvy, pleasant, girlish. Always blushing, talented at singing. As polarly opposite to her as a body could be. She has never spoken to her, save in passing greeting, and even those are rare. The older girl is always surrounded by a simpering clique of girlfriends that take up all of her time.
But here she is, with a dagger and a toad, (a toad?) helping her with the Orphans. Little Miss Mudo, a HiME. It figured.
Before Yatagarasu and Gennai can commit their next brutal murder of an Orphan, another girl whom she does not recognise darts into view. This one has two miniature pistols and a wolf. This one looks as if she would be better placed in a games arcade; she and her wolf fire shots and ice at the Orphan and cut it in half.
"What have you done?!" yells Mudo; the Orphan, split into half, neatly becomes two Orphans.
"I tried! I really did try!" the other girl apologises; she runs to someone that has just come on to the scene, it is Iya-tan. Kanna raises her eyebrows. She wonders briefly whether Iya-tan is also a HiME.
Kaname has gone around the side of the ruined greenhouse; he is no longer in view. One of the Orphans that grew out of the formerly singular Orphan disappears in hot pursuit. The two younger girls follow.
She turns back to Mudo. "Let's clean this up, Miss Mudo."
"Okay!"
The fate of the Orphan need not be mentioned in detail: it is young and foolish, spawned newly from the life-fluid of the older one, and cannot be expected to know how to defend itself against two Childs. It dies while deciding whether to attack the shadowy figure under the large tree or the radiant-looking beauty with the dagger.
*
At home, Kanna unlocks the door and walks into the parlour. She dumps her bag on the couch and says to Tsuneo: "I'm going back to school to make sure Kaname didn't get lost on his way home or something. We made onigiri last night so if you're hungry, help yourself."
Tsuneo replies: "Be careful," but his sister is already out the door. She waves from the gate as a sign that she has taken his advice into consideration. Only when she has reached the end of the pavement does she realise that it is singularly odd that Tsuneo should say such a thing.
She runs all the way to school, ironically reminded of the morning, when she had also had to run to school. She gets to the levelled greenhouse just as the Orphan disintegrates into shards of light. Kanna in her other self disappears and Kanna feels the flute rough against her palm, grips it. Yatagarasu returns fawning to her side; one of his crows flies overhead.
Mudo starts, "Are you still Kanna's image or Kanna now?"
"Funny that you should know my name, but I'm Kanna in the flesh, come back to see if my stupid brother got lost coming home."
"I take a special interest in HiMEs, but not the same kind as that sick bastard Nagi. I was the first one he... awakened."
There were several large, significant explosions coming from the direction the crow had flown. Either Duran was wreaking more havoc or-
Being the soft-hearted one that she is, Mudo panics slightly: "Your, your brother?!"
Kanna starts walking towards the source of the explosions. She has a smirk on her face, but it is forced. "If he was in any sort of life-threatening danger, the crows would tell me. It's all this damn flute can do." She spins the gnarled object in her hand. "Though, the Duran user seems pretty new at this, maybe another HiME came to help-"
The thought occurs to them both at the same time.
"Iya-tan is a HiME?!"
"Yamayuri Iyako is a HiME?!"
They run for it.
Slightly retarded, but I'm not sure how Freya Mudo would react in this kind of situation.. *very blur* sorry!!
Everyone hates my character ;_; I feel so sad... :(
Oh, everyone seems to also want to get into the action real quickly, as well, "coincidentally" running into orphans. :p Guys, I kinda purposely left Maiyuki and Co. deal with those orphans, because I was having plans to give you guys your solo action time as well... Well, it doesn't matter, this is an RPG, things change and people are impatient, so, well enough! I'll have more fun orphans for you to deal with in a while or so. :p
Nagi
=====
Sigh. Just when I thought the situation couldn't have gotten any worse, Yumi has decided drop in on the party to give me a reprimanding for leaving her earlier today, though, from her condition, I could see that she had handled by herself absolutely fine. Yet, her appearance near the 1st district president seriously makes my job a lot more difficult. But now wasn't the time to complain, especially with the ground rumbling heavily and Yumi, gone from anger to anxiety as she now adjusted her balance and attempted a striking position.
"Don't worry," I told her assuringly. "This Orphan won't attack you... yet."
The president smirked. "Very keen of you, Nagi..."
I only had a second to see Yumi's face look at me, confused, when the huge mantis like creature with a boar's head erupted out of the ground, right behind the president. It gave a terrifying roar, then stared down at us, waiting for his commands....
"I apologize for earlier, leaving you like that with no information at all," I began to tell Yumi in a casual, conversational manner. She seems furious about this and was about to say something, but I lifted a finger, and, amazingly, she dropped it and just listened while giving me a rather hostile glare.
"You have, what legend calls, 'Highly-advanced Materializing equipment', or HiME for short. You have already realized that you possess an incredible power, of which you can use for whatever you wish. Do you want to preserve the school? Do you want to use it to your own self pleasure? Or maybe... to save a few lives, like your sister's? You have proof right in front of you that the world is not a safe place. Possession of the hime power would be benefical to you, wouldn't you think?
However, there are a few guidelines that you should follow along with your hime. Just a few... first, you should be aware that in accepting your power, you have to put what is most important to you at stake. If not, then you can choose not to summon your weapon or hime when an orphan attacks you...or your sister, and accept whatever fate comes to you because of it. From your actions earlier, you apparently chose to save your sister... Another rule is that I highly suggest you refrain from attacking other HiMEs and their childs, should you discover any other HiMEs... you can, however, attempt to eliminate yours truly, if that is truly your intention."
I smiled wryly. "Indeed, there are some who accept their powers merely to go after me. I will not interfere with whatever goals you have as long as it follows the guidelines I have given you... I must warn you, however, that though I will not interfere with your goals, I also wish to stay alive as long as possible, if you know what I mean?
Well, are there any questions?"
Yumi glanced at the large, looming Orphan, that was just standing straight over us. "Yea, so when is it gonna attack, Nagi? You seem to know this stuff..."
"No, I don't," and I shrugged. "That's her Orphan. She can control it, I suggest you ask her..." I looked towards the president's direction, who was obviously already prepared to say something about it.
"Mrs. Terada, I'm so glad you can drop in on our party. As you can see, we're calling in a few more guests here at this moment... and my, there they are! Well now, should we get this party started?" She threw down the cigarette she was smoking and then smited it with her foot. Then she looked up at us and smiled very girlishly...a VERY dangerous gesture.
Blah, so, yea, that didn't really say anything. :p I think I'll post more later, but I need to think about how to go about this more. Meanwhile, Malheur can finish his post and everyone can... do stuff with everyone else. :p Oh, and sorry if I messed up Yumi's character. :p
When the Director had finally wrapped up his speech, the students began to move to their respective classrooms. Fuujiko and James had their first class together, so they didn't have to separate as they walked to their first class. "I hope we don't get a crappy teacher," James said to Fuujiko. She nodded in agreement. "And I hope we don't get a ton of homework on our first day..." said Fuujiko.
They arrived at the classroom dictated on their schedule, and sat down for class. A tall, elderly lady walked in and sat at the desk. She pulled out a sheet of paper from one of the drawers in her desk, and began to read a list of names aloud. After what seemed like ages, she folded the paper and put it back in her desk. "Though today is the first day of school, that is no excuse not to begin lessons. Please open your books to page 6, and we will begin..." The teacher had a very monotonous voice, the kind that you can't pay attention to for more than a few minutes without getting bored. Fuujiko felt her eyes glaze over as she stared into space, barely concentrating on the lesson at hand...
...
...
The half-day of school was finally over, and Fuujiko couldn't find James anywhere. She had been waiting in the courtyard for a few minutes, but he still wasn't showing up. Someone tapped her on the back, and she spun around. "It's about time you--" she stopped in mid-sentence. When she turned around, it wasn't James she was facing. It was a blonde-haired girl. "Oh sorry, you're not who I was expecting." she apologized, though a bit insincerely. She already didn't like this girl. Any girl who looked better than her was competition. Not that she was saying this girl looked better than her, but she definitely wasn't ugly.
"Hello. My name is Alyssa. Nice to meet you." She didn't like the tone of the girl's voice. She sounded condescending.
"Hello. My name is--"
"Fuujiko-san, I know. I was wondering if you would please follow me." The girl turned around without waiting for an answer, and began to walk away.
"Er...okay?" Fuujiko answered, though she wasn't sure how much she wanted to follow this girl. She wasn't exactly the nicest person in the world. She decided that she just should let her defence down. "Hey, wait up!" shouted Fuujiko. The girl was walking really fast. Why was she in such a hurry?
Left, no right, no left the tunnels that guided us through the cave seemed to whip and twist around. Whipping us back in one direction or another. The echoing sound of a large chamber would grow closer and then fainter and then closer again. The sound of wing beats and movement began to grow again as we rounded another corner. There was no mistaking the noise: they were Orphans. A few seconds later we were in a large chamber that seemed to be the center of the cave network.
“Wha-what are those monstrosities?” Yuki gasped at the two beasts.
“Those,” I smirked clinching my fists to prepare for the adrenaline fired rush of battle. “are Orphans” I finished my sentence. I closed my eyes and tried to think of a plan of attack. I would need Ami on this, if she didn’t help me then I wouldn’t have a chance and we would all be dead.
“Yuki, I’m going to draw their attention, I’m going to need your help in helping distract the bigger one,” I warned her, I took her silence as a agreement and took off running to draw their attention. The gorilla like one sent a fist slamming toward me, with a flinch I back flipped over the point of impact and sailed safely backwards five feet.
I wasn’t out of danger yet, the sound of wind and feathers racked past me and I dropped into a low crouch. Where was Yuki? I couldn’t keep this up forever. Finally accepting that I would have to bring this fight to the next level, I dropped to my left side to dodge the massive paw and materialized the bow and arrow in my hand.
Dropping into a low roll I came up into the center of the cavern and shot two shots into the Gorilla. Turning to my left side I scanned the room for my partner. “Yuki I need some help” I said quickly before spotting her. She was sitting there hugging Ami, watching me do my act as if it were some show to her. As long as Ami wasn’t hurt she didn’t care. “Yuki…” I mumbled through my lips even though they felt as if they had been frozen.
My bow clattered to the ground as my hands went numb. She really didn’t care if I lived or died, she could get another friend, I was never a true friend, and I was just something she could throw away as long as she had her true friend. She began to mouth something when a massive force hit me from my back propelling me toward a black stone death.
For seconds everything felt okay, nice and peaceful, I felt better than I had ever felt before, that feeling continued to linger on as I slowly drifted off to sleep.
I was somewhere, some room; everywhere I turned I was in a large cage. I was lying down and couldn’t move like my body wouldn’t respond right. Above me I could see the ceiling to my house, but all around me there was bars that rose up and towered over me. A face slowly drifted into view over the bars, it was the face of a beautiful woman in her thirties with thick black curly hair. To the side of her another face appeared, one that looked like me but with shorter hair.
“I’m sorry Aya, I just can’t stay” She spoke smoothly, her words traveled out like silk. What did she mean she couldn’t stay? Who was she? I couldn’t stay I had to get back; I had to defeat the Orphans. “I hope you can forgive me some day,” She whispered bending over and kissing my head.
“Bye sis” The other girl said. Sis? I didn’t have a sister. Their heads disappeared from view and the sound of a door slowly shutting could be heard off in the distance. They had left me, who were they. I didn’t want to be left around; being left alone was scary and dangerous. Yuki left me alone and I almost died, I didn’t wanna be left alone again. I didn’t want this life, I didn’t want these friends. I wanted a better life, I deserved a better life. I just wanted…a better life
Just FYI the second part is a dream.
:\\Uzaki Maiyuki /|\ Kagutsuchi//:
What sort of dream was this? Was I unconscious? I had never seen something like this before. Not in stories or books or even classes. The bracelets slowly twirled on my wrists, as well as my ankles. The gold and emerald colors lit up nicely in the moonlight. I looked back at the moon to see a strange figure move across it. That must have been whatever distracted the aerial Orphan. “Thank you.....whoever you are...”
She had run in between Aya’s thrashing and the attack on me. I didn’t recognize her, but she carried both Ami and Aya outside, far away from this raging battle. I knew it must have been her up there in the sky because she had a large, black sword when she approached me before. But if she was fighting, I had to as well!
“You’re gonna get it now, you stupid ape!” I shouted as I stood up. I clenched my fists in anger and the rings began to spin rapidly again, glowing a fiery orange. Although they appeared to twirl in flames, they were not hot. If anything, the slight breeze that came from their violent motion was rather pleasant.
Before I could even notice, my entire body had lifted off the ground. I squeaked a little at the strange feeling and tensed up, causing my body to slide around strangely, as if I were ice skating through the air; it felt like I was inside a gyroscope. I quickly regained my balance and composure as the ape hurled a barrage of smaller rocks at me. I crossed my arms in front of me, creating the same shield that had protected me before. I pushed off the air and put my arms down my sides, turning myself into an arrow, flying through the air. As I approached the beast further, it swung its large arm at me, the same that hit Aya. I tried to stop myself, but I had too much momentum and continue to skid through the cave as I was smacked across the room.
Although bruised from the swipe, I was able to stop myself on the wall, thanks to the powers of rings. I could feel the rage spreading inside me like wildfire; the urge to release this tension like a bow or rubber band. The bangles began to blaze brightly, whirling faster then before. I brought my thumbs together, my palms facing out, and arced them up across and above my head. “AHHHH!!!” I screamed as the pent-up frustration broke! A long flame, whip-like in nature, followed the path of my hands, rising in an inferno of heat and fire from the ground between me and Orphan! I smashed into its chest and head, sending the gargantuan beast flying across the cave.
A cloud of dust and rock exploded from the wall as it collided and fell to the ground, leaving an oversized crater where it had hit. I could tell from it subtle movements that it was down, but not out. It was in the short lull that I saw the girl enter from the tunnels again. ”She must have finished off that other one.”
Before the Orphan could even stand up, she had called forth her sword again. She ran forward, dragging the tip of the blade on the stone floor, sparks madly flying from the contact. As she approached, she slowed and drug the sword in a wide circle around her. As she returned to the front she called out, “MIROKU,” and stabbed the sword into the ground. Large spikes, made of obsidian, jutted up from the ground in a straight line from her to the ape, piercing its solid shell. In an instant, the Orphan erupted into a cloud of dust and sparkling pieces, disappearing into nothingness...
We quickly made out way outside to where Aya and Ami where lying. I quickly pulled my flip phone out of the pocket in my uniform top and called the hospital. It was only a few minutes before they arrived, but the one who battled with me had disappeared before they showed up. They helped Ami and I into the ambulance and brought Aya in on a gurney. She was injured far worse than I had assumed, but she would survive. ”Why did I let her fight? I was always there to prevent it... Why?” I asked myself as I sat in the corner of the vehicle.
“Ma’am,” one of the personnel questioned, shaking me from my thoughts, “what’s your name?”
“Uzaki, Uzaki Maiyuki. Her name is Kazoe Ami and the one on the gurney is Tange Aya.” I replied, pointing to my injured friends. I had minor cuts and bruises compared to them.
“Well, Aya here has lost a lot of blood. We’re going to take her, and both of you, to the campus infirmary. You two should only need to stay for a couple hours before we release you, but she,” he looked down at Aya as he inserted an IV into her arm, “she’ll probably have to stay for at least over night.”
He was right. Although the cuts she had were only minor, she had gotten far many more than Ami and I combined, as well as a possible concussion from the wall impact.
It was a sad sight to see as the 3 girls were taken off to the hospital. The sound of the siren on the ambulance echoed in our silence and down the now empty and dark streets of Fuuka. Many things had unraveled themselves that day, and I could only fear for what else could be in store for me and the rest of us that had these strange abilities.
Ok! With many of the major plot sequences coming to a close, I decided that our first day of 'school' is now officially over! ^_^ Obviously, a couple things still need to be wrapped up, but I request that (just for the first night) we keep nocturnal activity to a minimum (unless you can include everything you do until dawn the next day, or the character goes to sleep). Dream scenes are also possibilities (especially in the cases like Aya or Amaya/Miyoko). And Yuki will see everyone 'tomorrow!' ^_^
Finally, I post...I had school and a bunch of other (bad) excuses. ;_; I am a bit unsure, so please point out any significant mistakes I may need to correct.
<--)~Yamayuri Iyako.14.Diana~(-->
"Once again, welcome to Fuuka and let's make this year one to remember," Director Rokugan finished dramatically. After his humble bow, a girlish applause and cheer sounded from the first few rows, the one closest to a podium.
A young woman, presumably the Director's secretary, took the podium and spoke in a professional monotone. "Would everyone please make your way to your first class of the day? Your schedules were sent along with your admittance letter, so all of you should know where you are headed…" Many students rustled through their bags and pockets, searching for the said letter. It sounded like an ocean of paper had come to life. As the secretary continued to speak of the business of others at hand, I rose from my seat and walked toward my homeroom, A-2. The school was not so crowded, as the majority of the students were still outside, still receiving their schedules and chattering with friends regarding the upcoming school year. Nevertheless, there were still some students beginning to infiltrate the building.
The door to the classroom was locked; behind it laid the dim and dusty place untouched for a summer's time. The teacher had still not arrived, so I waited on a bench beside the door. The opposite side of the hallway was lined with large, crystal clear windows. The tree branches outside rustled in the breeze like lazy arms, pointing in a certain direction.
A high school boy, who may have been a senior, was walking down the hall with his hands in his pockets toward my left. Coincidentally, a group of giggling girls was approaching from my left. The brunette with twin pigtails stepped ahead of the rest of the group, or rather, the girls pushed her away, giggling, while the brunette looked over her shoulder at them hesitantly. They backed up, continuing to giggle, while pigtailed girl quietly spoke to the much taller guy.
"Um…excuse me, Ryou-kun! Please accept this gift!" she cried with her head down, her cheeks such a violent shade of red that one couldn't help but worry. She thrust a small package in front of her. "I like you a lot, Ryou-kun!" As she cried these words, it appeared that all her hopes and dreams were meager enough to be contained within the small box. When the boy named Ryou confusedly plucked the present from her outstretched hands, at once the girl scampered away to join her group, which was now closer to the end of the hall.
"So, did you tell Ryou-senpai that you love him?" one girl asked in a bubbly voice.
"Wow! Ryou-san is such a gorgeous guy!" another girl added. They escorted her down the corridor in a mass of giggles.
In the meantime, the one called Ryou tossed the sparkly package into his bag as if it were merely a scrap from the past. He rolled his eyes, exasperated, as he stepped into a classroom.
As I watched this happen before my eyes, I wondered, is this what love is? Is this what people are so excited about? It couldn't be. I wouldn't believe that that boy's uncaring face was love. The girl's hidden eyes could not be what people waited their whole lives for. It couldn't be true.
*.-.*.-.*.-.*
The final bell sounded to the edges of the campus. I stood on my tiptoes, trying to overcome a wave inundated on me by the sea of people. My eyes finally settled on the rich brown hair of Fujiwara Kaname. I carefully wove thru the thick crowd until I was at his side. "Congratulations, Kaname-senpai," I said quietly.
"Huh? Oh, it's you. What did I do?" he said lethargically.
"You were the top of your class last year. That is a very prestigious accomplishment!" I cried, smiling at him. I could not explain what it was about Kaname. I had subconsciously placed my faith in him one day and have not since been able to withdraw it. I think that okaa-sama would like to meet him one day.
"Oh. Whatever, thanks," he said, avoiding my eyes. Then his ears perked up; he walked over to a girl and a couple of her friends.
"Hey! What's that supposed to mean, Ms. MAIyuki?" he said in a frustrated tone. "Oh, and the peon here is Iyako." He nodded in my direction.
I did not understand him. Was he insulting those who were really so unfortunate? "You're so mean, Kaname-senpai!" Slowly turning my eyes to the girls, I whispered, "But yes, I am Yamayuri Iyako."
Just then, a teacher whom I did not recognize approached us. "I’m sorry to bother you, but could a couple of you assist me in the classroom?" he inquired. One of the girls and Kaname quickly volunteered themselves and followed him back into the building.
"Well, wanna walk back into town with us?" the girl named Uzaki asked me. Never had I expected such a proposal to be made to me. I smiled meekly, joining her stride. I felt like a higher spirit was watching over me from the sky not far above.
As we continued to walk, there was so much that I wanted to ask Uzaki-senpai, but I could not move my lips, as if they were paralyzed by astonishment. A tree branch adorned sparking, emerald leaves jounced above us. A teacher whom I identified as Nagi lighted before us. "Aya-chan! Sato-chan! I'm so glad you're here! Look, there's danger, there are orphans, five of them... they're chasing after two students, Kaname and Ami, I believe, were their names..."
I gasped, placing my trembling fingertips over my separated lips. "Kaname?" I breathed. Apologizing silently for being so impolite, I quickly pushed the thought aside. If Kaname-senpai were harmed…the words did not continue. Kaname-senpai was nearly an orphan himself, was he not?
"You guys stay here, I'll look into this..." the girl with short, brown hair said calmly, beginning to dash away.
Uzaki-senpai held her back. "Wait! What do you mean they're in danger? Ami is in danger? I can't leave her like that, I have to go too!"
"Me…too…" I added, trailing behind them.
Nagi advised, "...look, I'll try to get more help to come, why don't you guys go on down first? Three Orphans are going after Kaname, they're heading towards the greenhouse... the other two are after Ami and heading towards the cave north of here. I gotta split, and you guys probably should too."
Could it really be? Even within my small and weak body, I could not allow that to happen to Kaname. He was so much more important than I was, a soul who could perhaps save this world.
With my head down and my eyes closed, I ran as fast as I could, the bottoms of my feet hitting the earth so hard that they pulsated with pain. My shoes eventually came off, my socks becoming stained with the dirt kicked up by my toes. My heart pounded as I was blindly guided by it. My braid slashed my cheek like a swift whip, but it was nothing compared to the pain that I could soon have to face.
Stumbling upon something on the ground, I turned my face to the sky and opened my tightly scrunched eyes. The sky had become overcast, with gray clouds dimming the world. A small patch of the sun shone through, though beside it there seemed to be a small, red marble hanging in the sky, a fraction of the size. Blinking to clear my hazy vision, the star obstinately remained. This mystic anomaly was soon pushed out of my path of thought as a scream jostled my mind.
Up ahead seemed to be a greenhouse, and by my side…a girl I somehow new as Sato-senpai. As she turned to look at me, her hazel eyes reflected spheres of bright crimson. On the ground, I avoided shards of glass, some glistening with blood, like fragments of an angel's broken heart. My legs were constantly moving, but I was not coming any closer…I had become a victim of time.
I stubbed my toe an exposed root, losing my step to the selfish earth. Falling onto the ground with final thud, I watched Sato-senpai speed past me in slow motion. After what seemed like an eternity's pause, I scrambled up with aching feet. All I could see was the blur of a wolf-like creature and feel the sharpness of a chilling breeze. A great stench is released into the fragrant air as a great monstrosity before three girls splits into two independent beings.
I watched this scene as if I were a guardian angel, separate from the world that I was now so closely connected to. Even to Sato-senpai, whom I did not know but a few moments ago, I felt an inevitable bond.
Through broken eyes, I saw Kaname slink behind a shattered window and into the forest beyond. Devoid of all coherencies, I pointed to the trees into which he had vanished. "I tried! I really did try!" I understood this exclamation as one of the smaller beasts shot into the forest with unthinkable speed, as if some outside force were causing it to move.
The rhythm of large and powerful paws clomped beside me. Sato-senpai appeared atop the wolf creature I learned to be Duran. "Climb on!" she called, reaching a hand out to me. I took an awkward jump onto the fantastic animal as we rode off into the forest.
As soon as we transcended the first layer of trees, darkness fell upon us like a black curtain. Not even a solitary ray of sun reached our faces though the think canopy of leaves.
I vaguely heard Sato-senpai cry, "We'll never that boy, or the orphan, in here!" My mind was replaying someone else's words. I didn't know whose…what were they saying? It felt as if they were tapping my brain, in order to get my attention.
"Diana…" I whispered.
"Could you…have the child?" Sato-senpai said aloud, curiosity filling her eyes.
Kaname-senpai…I promise I will find you. An unusual sensation swirled in my feet and grew through the rest of my body. A small glow, like gentle moonlight, encircled the ground around me. I felt relaxed. A flash shot through the air as a flat, reflective object materialized before me. It seemed to be a mirror, but instead of gazing upon my own image…there was Kaname-senpai!
With a single revolution, the large refractor spun around me, seeming to leave several smaller mirrors in a protective circle. I was engulfed in a breeze as this ability circulated through my blood.
I studied the image; the longer I looked at it, the more I felt it was a reflection of my own heart. Kaname-senpai was surrounded by trees, but the area immediately around him was clear, with only a few tamed plants. Sunlight streamed through the leaves with radiance. As he turned, the beams lit his face, marked with fear.
"I know…that place…" I murmured.
"Hmm? Well, let's go!" I once again ran blindly, in order to find him. I cannot explain how I reached that clearing. That which truly guided me is still unknown.
As light once again struck my contracted pupils, I found a voice deep inside of myself. "Kaname-senpai!" I called, still able to find breath in my small lungs.
The creature that appeared to be a victim of mutation swiftly swung its clawed fist. Kaname-senpai nimbly dodged it, yet he put himself into a much more vulnerable position. The rumble of the earth shot waves of fear into my useless hands. If only my legs would move instead of shake, I could do something that I always promised to do; to fulfill my existence.
I'll leave it to PL to wrap up the day. Once again, sorry this took me so long.
~~~~ Suteki Sakura ~~ Harry - Dual Tonfas ~~~~

It took me a while to realize that I wasn't being led where I had wanted to go. Somehow I had been so distracted talking with Miyu that I hadn't been watching where I was going. I went to tell Miyu I had to go the other way when I saw the Orphan.

Immediately my thoughts turned to trying to get Miyu away from it...and me. But my eyes caught the expression on Miyu's face, and I was surprised to see that she wasn't shocked or anything. In fact, it seemed that maybe she was hoping to come here with the Orphan. But...that couldn't be right, could it? How could this girl be so calm in front of an Orphan.

That's when I saw my least favorite person of the moment: Nagi. With him was some other girl I had seen earlier today, though I didn't catch her name. What I was noticing about her now, though, was that she had metal claws on her hands, and since Nagi didn't seem to be reacting to them, that must have meant...

'Another HiME?' I silently questioned. I forgot about Miyu and began running towards Nagi, fuming. I could see Fuujiko-san heading towards Nagi from his other side. He noticed her first from about a hundred feet away, then me when I was about fifty feet away, and gave a little wave to each of us. It didn't help calm me down at all, though, and soon I was in his face. Normally I didn't get angry, but with Nagi being very unhelpful as of late, I figured it was an okay time for it.

"Alright, Nagi, what the hell is going on?"

Apologies for the shortness, but I had almost no clue what was going on. *sends a huge glare at Engi*

Ok, yea, I should post something, its probably going to be short... oh well, as long as it gets everyone else to do something, right? XD

Yea, sorry about suddenly putting the pressure on the inactive posters, but hey, you guys, it wouldn't have happened if you sped up a little and typed something short out before I posted, right? :p

Nagi
-----
"...Just as Nagi had told you earlier, I would like to propose an option to you himes, an option that may as well save you from your fate." The District president looked towards me with a look of smugness on her face. "I presume you won't be stopping them from my proposal, then?"
"It is not up to me to decide what they want to do," I sighed, putting my hands behind my head and laying back on a tree. "However, I will enforce whatever rules are necessary in order for the carnival to succeed." I smiled back to the District president. "Just remember that."
"Feh. Well, our facilities, my dear himes, have been... researching. Yes, researching on himes, childs, and orphans... We wish to conduct some experiments but of course, we would like your approval on the situation before taking you in. Obviously, we would rather have you come willingly than by taking you by force. Terada-san, I'm sure your sister would appreciate your cooperation. " Yumi showed a little sign of irritance.
"We would much rather you submit to us willingly, as I can assure you, you will not appreciate the other methods of persuasion we have..." Alyssa stated in a tauntingly cheerful manner.
"Should I give a demonstration?" Miyu suddenly stepped foward, ready to attack, as the himes in the crowd stepped back ready to parry...
"No, not today, we have other business to attend to, today..." With that, Miyu, Alyssa, and the district president walked off in a specific direction. After a few steps, the president suddenly turned around. "Oh, before I leave, here are a few toys you himes can play with. Have a good day!!" She snapped her fingers, and two more orphans emerged from around the area, and the orphan that was impatiently waiting in front of us now was posed to attack. Figuring that the show here was done, I readied myself to leave...
"Wait, are you going to just leave us again, without helping us???" Sakura said angrily. I turned around, and smiled assuringly. Well, at least I thought it was assuring, apparently the himes didn't.
"I'll help when you himes are really in trouble, but when I know you can handle something, I'll leave you to your own. These orphans are no match for you girls... you'll do fine!" With that, I held up a "V" sign to them, and jumped off.
-----
Ok, so, since, like everyone else got a fight scene (or plugged themselves into one *coughcough*), we'll let these three go kill off some orphans too, in case you didn't read my incredibly short post, you have three orphans around you, deal with them appropriately!

Oh, and speaking of why my posts are so short, you'll notice that they're short because Nagi doesn't express his feelings (at least not a lot of them) too often in his posts. I believe this is the reason why my posts are very "to the point", not that you guys care too much, but yea. :p

EDIT: OOC: LOL!!! THIS IS OFFICIALLY MY NEW APPEARANCE AS NAGI!!! j/k XD XD XD http://circus.nandemo.gr.jp/common/maihime_top/character/chara_other_event02.html

--Terada, Yumi--

Fear. It was shocking that I felt it not from the three large Orphans that seemed to surround us but from the woman that disappeared from view. She was cold, and I couldn’t see where her motives came from. It is always said that we hate that of what we are afraid of. But I didn’t hate her. I envied her. I pushed that out of my mind for the moment. There would be time to think of that after I defeated this orphan. The other two girls went to face their own choice of enemy. I chose the biggest. There was a reason why most mantises didn’t have boar heads in real life. Because they are so damn ugly.

“Julia…” I whispered as if playing a hide and go seek game with an infant. “Come out come out wherever you are…” The ground shook as long legs erupted from the ground, and arched to lift the body out of it’s resting place. A small smile came to me and I started to click the metallic nails against each other, causing a rhythm to echo through the air. The Orphan obviously didn’t like my sense of fun, because it charged for us. Julia quickly stood moved to block the attack, which resulted in a head on collision. The two creatures carried on a complicated melee and I watched, highly interested, until Julia started to show small signs of losing. The tusks on the boar and the long green limbs seemed to be getting the best of the clash. I slowly backed away from where the two were fighting and almost received a fatal wound from my own Child’s arachnid leg.

“NO!” I yelled in frustration as the Orphan heaved Julia into a tree. I instinctively reached out my hand to point at the orphan, which would also be followed by some harsh words of encouragement for my defender when suddenly a red thread came from the claw, and went directly to the tree across from me. When the Orphan moved forward to finish Julia off, it’s legs tangled in the thread and it slowly fell over. It took me a few moments to realize what just happened. The trip wire was an accident, but accidents count in battle.

Julia obviously wasn’t surprised. After recovering from the hit into the tree, the Child shakily walked towards the fallen Orphan and crawled onto it, stabbing the Orphan brutally with the blade on it’s abdomen. I was sure that the child had other things that it could do besides move quickly and use the weapon, but surprises are what make things exciting, so I allowed Julia to continue.

My eyes flickered over to the other himes fighting in their various methods. Weaknesses as well as strengths could be analyzed quickly. The lack of weaknesses though was what made watching them so hard. They fought with precisian and accuracy that I had yet to learn. After closely examining my surroundings for a few moments, I quickly turned back to my own battle to see Julia, yet again on the ground. The Child was clearly battered and limping when she gained her ground one last time. I noticed that there happened to be white webbing touching everything in Julia’s path. The Orphan was covered in it, immobile.

“Finish it off,” I muttered as Julia opened her mouth and enclosed the only part of the orphan’s body that was exposed to the outside world. The boar face. When the mantis portion of the body was the only part that remained of the orphan, it materialized in front of me. “That was too close Julia!” I yelled across the grounds towards my Child. “Next time…fight better.”

The Child disappeared as well from my sight, and I turned my attention once more to the other hime. Ha, I was the first one finished. The two of them both looked familiar of course, though names didn’t come to me at the moment. If I could finish off my Orphan, the could too without my help. I walked away from the scene, eager to return back to my apartment. If they died, I would have to deal with the guilt in the morning.

I made my way back towards the window that I had opened to chase after Nagi, and carefully entered it. My purse and apartment keys were in one of the desk drawers, which I opened and pulled out in a sort of trance. Two orphans were still right outside the office window, and no one seemed to notice. In fact, no one really noticed a lot of things that occurred that day. Sure the labs were destroyed, but the only ones that really knew were the scientists and the girls that I had met while the day occurred. Before leaving, I opened the file cabinet that held copies of student files. I pulled out a paper on Mudo, Freya. It would come in use later.

Walking through the doors and onto the street minutes later, I walked towards my apartment with my mind buzzing with thoughts. The experiments that that woman talked about didn’t sound all too comfortable. Force was definitely an option that I was leaning towards. They wouldn’t take me without a fight. A feeling of amusement came to me when she referred to my sister approving. All the more reason to fight against the whole proposition. The thought of Nagi came to my mind soon after, causing me to laugh out loud. The guy had style…you could give him that much. Though the whole V thing was a bit over the top.

To my surprise, my hand reached out to the doorknob of my apartment. There already…and apparently I had unlocked the door without even thinking about it. I entered and shut and bolted the door behind me. Glancing over at the telephone, I noticed there were two messages. Both were from my sister. Usually it was me who called her and she was the one that never picked up. She would just have to wait until tomorrow. After collapsing on the couch, I debated on whether I should change and get ready for bed. The apartment was too quiet and I felt edgy as I stood and started to walk towards the bedroom.

Fujiwara Kanna (and family), Yatagarasu
[a murder of crows]
--------------------------

After indicating to Mudo-san what she intends to do, Kanna saunters into the forest as if nothing had happened. She meets Kaname halfway to the clearing, just as she had meant to. She pretends not to notice any trace of broken branches or uprooted greenery when he asks, and instead concentrates on asking her own pertinent questions about the blood in his hair and the shard of glass in his arm. In this way, she distracts him, going home and entering the door before he fully notices that she is unnaturally avoidant about the fiasco at the greenhouse.

Yatagarasu had been dismissed earlier, in the forest. She can't let him know about her, or Iya-tan, or the rest of them. It's their own shared secret.

She bullies her brother into taking a bath, and then goes to check on Tsuneo. Tsuneo is reading, a pile of books on the table. Encyclopedia volume II, syllables ka to ku. Some English books, a comic, a book of old fairytales. Tsuneo reads voraciously and his sister does not limit his choice of reading material, feeling him to be the most mature of the three despite his age. She tells him to be down for dinner in twenty minutes.

Dinner is yesterday's leftovers, because Kaname's left arm has a deep gash rent in it by the shard of glass. Kaname is ambidextrous but his hands have definite purposes, such as left for cooking but right for writing. So it's leftovers for dinner, because Kanna doesn't feel like cooking.

After dinner she applies antiseptic onto his arm and bandages it, taking an unnecessarily long time. She wants to talk to him about Iya-tan. Some words of advice. Maybe he'll accept them, maybe he won't. She does it because it's her duty to do it. Tsuneo is already back upstairs in his nest of books.

"You know something?" She wraps the linen carefully, once round his arm.
"What?"
"A lot of people, especially girls, would appreciate it if you acted yourself more." Twice round.
"I always act myself."
"Yes, and you're doing it very badly." Third time round, twist and knot.
"I don't see how there's a problem with it."
"I believe (though I may be wrong) that you're smarter than you look. Prove it to me. Understand what I'm going to say now because I'm only going to tell you once. People are stupid. They can't tell what's going on in your head most of the time. You can't be a nice person inside and act like a jerk outside and expect everyone to know you're a nicer person inside. I know because I've had to spend fifteen years of my life in close proximity with you, but others don't, least of all the loyal-but-thick types like Iya-tan. I'm not telling you to like her. Just be smart and play nice. Okay?"
She looks him in the face, yellow eye to yellow eye. Kaname nods, a tiny nod, but Kanna is smart and understands her brother better than she understands herself, and ruffles his hair the way she used to do when they were little.

In the nest of books Tsuneo has reached the story about the story about the members of the family Corvidae. He reads about the collective nouns allotted to these, the most intelligent of perching birds. A parliament of rooks. A conspiracy of ravens.

A murder of crows.

White, pure white, that was all I could see. If the world was completely white then this would make sense, yet the world wasn’t that simple, it wasn’t white and fluffy. It was black, and rough, it would rip you apart when you least suspect it. So the white that surrounded me would not stay forever. Soon I could start to make out shapes, my legs, the bed I was laying in, and the light blue walls around me. Where was I? How did I get here? Who brought me here? I was with Yuki, she was helping me take down the Orphans, and now…here?

“Are you awake?” A voice asked to my left. I tried to turn to face her, only to find that my neck prevented me from moving my head from side to side. “Don’t move” The voice said, the voice as it turned out belonged to a very beautiful woman. She was stunning in her looks alone. She moved down the bed a bit and came into my field of vision finally.

“The Orphans, I have to get back,” I mumbled, my jaw felt thick and tight, as if it had a mind and will of it’s own.

“Yuki took care of them, you’re in the campus infirmary,” She said slowly her voice soft and relaxing as if she were trying to make sure that I digested all the information before asking anything else. “Yuki’s friend is also okay”

Yuki’s friend? Who was she talking about? I was Yuki’s only friend. “Friend?” I asked confused. Who else would be up there in the caves? “Yuki and I heard there were some Orphans moving toward the caves, there wasn’t anyone else up there,” I stated.

“You took a pretty bad hit in the head, and have a bruised jaw bone, you should just try to rest” The girl said trying to bite back the annoyance. “I’m Tanaka Anko by the way”

“I should really go see Yuki” I winced; all the pain from moving my jaw was really coming back to me. I slowly sat up and swung my legs off the bed. That movement was paid back in pain, at least ten fold. The room began to swirl from the movement and pain and my body began to feel weak.

“Get some sleep, you need it,” She said pushing me back down onto the bed, that moment I wasn’t in the mood to argue and laid back down on my pillow.

I smiled a bit at her as sleep began to over take me, “I think you’re right…I…think…I…need some…sle..” I never got to finish that sentence, I was thrust down into the unconscious cold darkness that is sleep, a place where I hoped that the pain could not reach me.

EVERYONE!
Please, reread the end of this post. Although the rest is the same, I have added in some new information to the end to get things rolling again.

[color=#339933]:\\Uzaki Maiyuki /|\ Kagutsuchi//:

Dreams... They were always something that obscured my thoughts. Even pleasant, they usually hung in my mind all through the day. But in an experience like that, only nightmares can be imagined. The repeating scene of Aya staring at me, longing for the attention she so deserved from me! Yet I ignored it, brushed it off, made it insignificant in the events that came to pass, but I knew that I would have to face that judgment the next time I saw her; this afternoon, after school.

Although, in that dream, there was another being! Not Aya or Ami, not even the strange girl that came to our rescue. It was a creature, shadowed and large, flames surrounded it as it’s eyes glowed a gentle, but determined, shade of crimson. Such a beast might be considered vicious and demonic to any normal person, but could I really call myself normal anymore? Those bands that span endlessly about my wrists and ankles made me question my commonality. I had seen those weapons in stories; they were called Tenrin and now, I had a set of my own. Somehow, someway, I did... and the thought scared me.

Before I could even continue thinking about the exasperating events that unfurled the night before, I had made my way to the school. Fuuka Academy: such a famous school, but not just for it’s curriculum...

[color=#EE9944]~.|.~.|.~.|.~.|.~.|.~.|.~

[color=#EE9944]I quickly found my starting classroom for my first lesson of the day. Although the classes were dull and boring, I was able to keep awake from all the thoughts running through my head. ”Why did the Tenrin appear? What MADE them appear? Why did I fight that monster, and where did it come from? Who else was like me, besides Aya and the other girl? And what did all these events mean?” Then the instinctual questions began to arise. ”Is Aya going to be all right? Did Ami remember any of what happened? How am I going to keep something like this to myself? Did I just dream all of it?” Finally, the defensive. ”Was it all a dream? Had something from lunch affected me? Maybe it was a ruse by students, or staff. Or maybe... just maybe this could all be real!” I shook my head from the thoughts that now continuously haunted my mind. Before I even knew it, lunch had passed, and it was near the end of last period.

“Professor Kasato?” I brought the attention of the teacher by raising my hand.

“Yes, Miss Uzaki?” She asked me pleasantly.

“Can I please be excused to use the restroom?”

“Yes, that’s fine. Go ahead.” I waved towards the door and turned back to chalkboard. I scooped up my stuff and left the classroom, not intending to head to the bathroom nor returning to the lesson. I made my way outside, slowly wandering for the infirmary. I had promised myself that I would go and visit Aya after school, but I just couldn’t hold the anxiety back! I hadn’t seen her since they took her away to the ICU when we arrived. I had to pass the Middle School buildings to get there, but as I passed, the tone sounded to release them from their class. I was suddenly bombarded by hundreds of young teenagers as they spread from the main doorway like the plague was raining upon them. I pushed through the crowds only to be encountered by Iyako, the quiet girl that followed Sato to the fight at the Greenhouse. Thankfully, she didn’t look beat up from fighting; I would imagine her small frame would not hold together well in such intense battles.

She quickly noticed the many cuts and bruises on my body and her eyes turned from solemn to worrisome. “I’m okay. I had a fight with... our cat.” She didn’t seem convinced, so I changed the subject. “I’m heading to the Infirmary. Care to join me?” Although still concerned, she smiled and gave me a small nod.

Making our way off, we were suddenly interrupted by rustling leaves in the forest to our right. Although we were surrounded by the beautiful campus flora, there was something disturbing the environment. A voice suddenly echoed from above us. "Mai-HiME!" I cringed at the sound of that part of my name, but who knew that much about me!?!

"Kaname! Is that you!?" I hollered back to the disembodied voice.

"Oh...You don't like Mai, do you?" A man swung down from a branch above the pathway that led through the woods. He had strange pink eyes and short, faint blue hair. It was Nagi, the man that had warned us about the Orphans last night. He hung on the branch like an opossum. "How about... Yu-HiME."

I moved Iyako behind me a little; I was leery of him and didn't quite know what to expect. I clenched my right fist and shouted, "What do you want now, Nagi?"

He gave a little scoff at my interrogation and motioned towards the woods where the noise had come earlier. Two girls moved out from behind the trees, revealing themselves to be Anko, the girl that helped me in the caves, and another girl, whom which I didn't recognise. "What now? I need to see Aya..."

OK! That should get us a start on Day 2. Please finish up any Day 1 stuff and start making some conversation/grouping for this new day! ^_^ More Orphans are to come (I'm sure), as well as some more action and plot/character development! XD Hope to hear from y'all soon!

Oh look...a post.

Koyuki Rokugan -M-
=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=
The director sat calmly at the small table, taking a sip from the cup of tea in his hands. Morning sunlight filtered into the room filling the room with its warmth. Calmly placing the cup back down on table, he glanced at the person across from him. Yumi Terada, dressed in her usual best, looked back at him. "So Terada-san, you wish to inquire about Nagi? May I ask why?"

"Well, sir, I have reason to believe that he may be involved with the injuries that those girls sustained last night as well as these...monsters...that have been showing up."

"Monsters Terada-san?"

"Hai, like the one that attacked the First District's lab yesterday."

The director's eyebrow's raised ever so slightly. "I was informed by the First District's executive that the aforementioned 'attack' was nothing more than a lab accident. Your sister, she works for them correct?"

She seem to stiffen at his words. "Ah yes, forgive me, I had forgotten she had been injured during the accident."

"It's fine." She looked the director in the eyes. "But I was at the scene during the accident and...I think that Nagi has something to do with these...creatures."

"Terada-san, such accusations should not be made lightly." Koyuki pushed his glasses up slightly, the light reflecting off its surface. "Especially in the light of the fact that you have no hard evidence to support this."

"I saw him! He told me about the attack on the lab, and was there when those creatures showed up. These monsters are a danger to the entire academy sir and must be dealt with." Her hands clenched slightly. "As he does not to seem have any information on file, I was sure you might have something on him as you hired him sir."

The director sat quietly for a moment staring at Yumi through his spectacles. Finally, steepling his fingers before him, he spoke. "Terada-san, I appreciate your concerns, I cannot release that information to you. Rest assured though, I shall have a word with Nagi." He gestured to the door. "Now, unless you have anything else to add, I belive our meeting is over."

Yumi opened her mouth as if to speak, but seem to think better of it. She stood and quickly strode towards the door as the maid opened it for her. As the door clicked shut behind them, Koyuki slowly took a sip from his tea cup. "Things are happening quickly, much quicker than anticipated." He spoke to the room as he placed the cup back down. "While the students would not have said anything, Terada-san seems to be a different matter altogether. I hope you will try to be a bit more...subtle from now on..."

A voice answered him. "Oh, I'll do my best Director-san, but I can't make any promises."

"You would do well to. Now, when you see them next please have Uzaki-san and Mudo-san come see me. Seperately of course." He stood up. "I shall be waiting in the infirmary. I must check up on the welfare of our saviors, must I not?"

Nagi
=====
"A new day, a new chapter!!" I said as I opened up a book, laying on top of a tree branch while ready to get myself immersed in an immensely tedious midday rest. Alas there is so much to deal with... finishing up the last of the himes with her new power... our director complaining about my methods of going about this business (I must admit, I thought I was pretty convincing... o_O kids these days...)... and last but not least, figuring out what to do with those pesky district people. Aaah, the best solution to everything is just a nap...

*thump!!* I inexplicably and unintentionally decided to duck down which just only happened to avoid a dual-ended dagger stabbing through my head.
"Ah, hello, Freya-san, Anko-san..." I stated drowsily. "What brings you here?"
"We were just around the area, conversing," Anko stated. She tried to speak in a disinsterested manner, but seemed a bit shaken at Freya's sudden attack at me. Oh well, I figured, was to be expected. Speaking of Freya....
"Oh yea, since you're here, Freya-san, your beloved director-san has asked me to arrange a date with you~~ what time do you think you can meet up with him?"
*shwump!!!* Again, I involuntarily and not-on-purposely decided to move a bit to the side and somehow avoided a dagger flying through my heart...
"How DARE you fool around with me..." Freya seethed angrily. Or was she blushing embarassingly? I'm not sure, her face was red, nevertheless. "I'll get through with you once and for all!! GEN--"
"Oh, I see you've been talking with her already?" A calm voice pierced through the heated argument. Director Rokugan stepped onto the scene, with a serene smile that was his main weapon in winning the hearts of many in our school. Needless to say, Freya immediately stopped what she was doing and unable to speak.
"Well, I was going off to the infirmary to check up on one of our injured students, but I suppose a short detour wouldn't hurt... I would like to speak with you, Freya--Unless, of course, you're busy! I mean I don't want to interrupt you if you're in the middle of anything--"
"N-n-nno!! No I'm fine!!"
After that we watched Freya and her beloved director walk off together in an alternate direction. Anko, who was basically a spectator throughout the entire scene, finally turned to me and spoke.
"Well, I thought I really hated you, but..."
"Yea," I chuckled, "Our relationship is very affectionate, as I'm sure you can tell. Oh and what have we here?"
A very exhausted and out-of-breath Kanna was rushing towards us, and nearly collapsed when she finally reached us. In the second she was recovering in Anko's arms, Another group of idly chatting friends came up...Ah!!
"MAI-hime!!" I shouted expressively. Apparently, with the look of disgust on her face, I suddenly remembered. "Oh, you don't like Mai, do you? How about... Yu-hime?"
"What do you want, Nagi?"
I had barely begun to say I was just playing around, when both Anko and Kanna emerged from the woods.
"Orphans... at hospital..." Kanna panted anxiously. "I'm fending them off for now, but... not sure... they're big... 2 of them..."
Kanna had not even finished with her warning when Maiyuki dashed towards the hospital.
"AYU!!!!"
The others followed soon after, some trying to slow her down, others running just as fast to get the hospital sooner. I tagged bahind, and waited as a crow flew down onto my arm and cawed a few times. "Nice work, Kanna... well, this time they can't say I was the one who told them about it, can I?" I smiled to the crow, which cawed a few times more and flew off. "Well, I still have work to do, need to finish up this chapter..." As I said that, I closed my book and began hopping from branch to branch, heading towards the infirmary at my leisure.
-----
SUSPENSE!!!: What will become of the hospital?!? What does Koyuki want with Freya?!? What connections do Nagi have with the crow?!? What is the exact date the Mai Hime spinoff comes out?!? (well, I know the last one is somewhere in october :p)

Fujiwara Kanna (et famille), Yatagarasu
"Blind Deer"
--------------------

So far for two out of the three members that made up the collective unit commonly referred to as the Fujiwara siblings, it had not been a good day.

For Kaname, there was only one reason. There were actually many reasons, but they basically equated to one major reason: Women. Uzaki Maiyuki still didn't like him, and made life just that bit more difficult for him whenever they happened to cross paths. As if his sister at home wasn't enough already. And Iyako. He hadn't done anything remotely outstanding, but yet here this girl was doting on him, on his every word and action. He didn't deserve this. He was considering entering a monastery.

Referring to Kanna, there were many major reasons for this. Firstly, their hot water supply was down; the old-fashioned boiler her father had been meaning to replace for years but simply never got around to finally gave out, with much spluttering and steam. She had been told this approximately a minute and five seconds after she had gone into the bathroom and received a rather unpleasant cold shower in the face. She had not screamed. In fact, she had controlled herself remarkably well. She'd only grabbed Kaname by the gullet and squeezed till he squirmed, not like the last time he'd really irritated her, when he'd gotten a horrible greenish-yellowish-black mark on his arm for his pains.

His arm. Right. She'd almost forgotten. The impulse to pinch him reminded her, and then she was sorry that she had made him squirm, for a little while.

Secondly, Tsuneo had tried to tell a joke at the breakfast table. He had never tried to tell a joke ever before. An ill portent.

It was a bad joke. It went something like this: Tsuneo asked, waving his fork in the air, his black eyes shining with some unreadable expression in them, "What do you call a blind deer?"

Kaname had stared blankly, with his best slightly-annoyed-but-willing-to-humour older brother look, and Kanna's chopsticks had stopped halfway en route to her mouth in mild shock. Tsuneo beamed.

The two older siblings elicited a response at the same time: "Dunno?"

"No idea. No eye-deer."

Duplicate blur looks, then Tsuneo, apparently blissfully unaware, continued: "Then, what do you call a paralyzed blind deer?"

"Electrocuted idea," said Kanna, while Kaname tried to consume more of his breakfast without wincing at the utter banality of the exchange.

"Still no idea!" said Tsuneo happily. "Last one, what do you call a dead paralyzed blind deer?" There being no response to this, Kanna massaging her forehead and Kaname looking steadfastly into his mug of coffee, he said, "Still no bloody idea."

Then they went to school, and they were not late. Possibly Tsuneo and his blind deer had something to do with this. Neither older sister nor brother wanted to deal with Tsuneo when he was in a funny mood, though Kanna often wished she knew how. At any rate Kanna had not far to go from parting with her brothers until at the very end of school a large crow with a rascally turn about the head whispered into her ear, in crow-speak: [Orphans. Two. Infirmary.], and she had no choice but to head there instead of the gate, cursing her luck. Why her? Why always her to know first?

Bloody crows.

Only one girl and the required medical specialist in the infirmary. One smallish, belligerent-looking girl, unconscious and probably middle school, and Arakami-sensei the nurse. Two big Orphans, more on the gigantic end of the Orphan food chain than the middling ones she normally saw. She couldn't do it alone, not unless Yatagarasu was the size of the Tokyo Tower, which it was not.

Fending the Orphans off took priority, and she left a spirit image of herself at the site together with Yatagarasu and the flute. Now running, in two minds, one telling her crow to avoid falling masonry as much as possible and at the same time stop the pincered Orphan from reaching in through the smashed windows and picking the limp girl up as though she were candy from a store. The other mind focusing on running. Running through the woods, the shortest shortcut she knew to the main high school building, to where she could maybe find Mudo Freya and that other girl with the wolf and as a drastic measure even Iya-tan would do.

She would have preferred Mudo, her being the most experienced and all, but she ran into a tall girl first, and would have gone on running past had she not tripped over her own feet and fallen onto the girl, having seen the sly sneaking form of Nagi in the very near distance. She had no quarrel with him yet, but she was sure she would have one, soon. With Nagi it was just a matter of time.

He ran off to a pair of girls approaching the woods, one a girl who did not like her brother (and vice versa, though it seemed a love-hate relationship), and the other was Iya-tan. Bingo. But they were all HiMEs, weren't they? Nagi = Orphans = HiMes = trouble.

"Orphans... at hospital..." she managed, catching her breath in great shuddering gasps, the tall shapely girl supporting her, for which she was grateful. "I'm fending them off for now, but... not sure... they're big... two of them..." And her neck jerked, as if pulled by the string of a marionette; the fact was that she was having a hard time of it, Yatagarasu and her other self. Yatagarasu, in this position, could not attack and yet defend at the same time. As a consequence the upper half of the infirmary building had been nearly ripped off, roof tiles hanging from beams. Kanna chose to fight rather than defend, and in reality she had no idea what to do.

The girl that disliked her brother, Maiyuki, was off like a shot, shouting some name that Kanna, intelligently, concluded was the name of the angry girl in the infirmary. Iya-tan smiled weakly at Kanna and dashed off after Maiyuki, making futile attempts to slow her down. The girl next to her said, "Can you walk? I'm Anko, by the way," and she replied "Fujiwara Kanna, nice to meet you, if only it was not this kind of situation," and they both hurried after the two disappearing blurs in front of them, although she turned back just to see what Nagi was doing about it. She saw a crow, and her yellow eyes gleamed. Careful, now. She had to be extra careful.

Back at the infirmary her own overlarge crow had been cornered by one Orphan, the other one, that had the pincers, again reaching into the hole in the building, to be curtailed by a firey blast from the general location of Maiyuki. The girl was incandescent, glowing, her rage making the fires burn brighter. Anko summoned her own weapon, a hefty black sword, and prepared to do battle. Iya-tan.. she couldn't see Iya-tan, but she knew she was there.

Kanna reached for her flute, felt it safe in her hands, and began to direct Yatagarasu to push the Orphan back further, now that there was backup that could do the defending. For her it was ever the onslaught of attack that held the sense of fulfilment, of duty.

This way she could measure her progress by the amount of Orphan bits that she removed in a minute.

Alright I'm just trying to get Aya up to the moment in time where Kanna started off in Chiko's post, if there are any problems please tell me and I'll fix them.

Tange, Aya

Vlas

Where were they, had anyone called them, were they even coming? I kept asking myself as the hours of the morning began to drag on. Mom and Dad hadn’t even shown up yet, did they visit while I was sleeping? The questions just continued to mount, why hadn’t they been here and where was Yuki? I began to worry that Anko was the only one that knew I was here. Eventually I decided that maybe I should call them and see if they were on their way, or were at least wondering if I was okay.

Reaching over to the table next to my bed I picked up the phone and held it up to my ear. ‘0120-50-80…’ What were those last two numbers? It was 0120-50-80 and then two more numbers. 0120-50-80…and then a blank. Slamming the phone down in annoyance, I covered my face in my hands. ‘0120-50-80…c’mon Aya think, you’ve called home so many times, and you know the number, 0120-50-80…’ I kept twisting around in my bed trying to get the numbers right. What were those last two numbers? Why couldn’t I remember them?

“Are you okay?” An elderly nurse asked standing at the doorway to check on me.

“I’m having a problem trying to remember my phone number” I sighed still holding my hands over my face. I could hear her rustle through my chart that must have been hanging on the wall outside my door.

“You took a pretty bad hit in the head, some memory loss is known to happen, it should come back to you with in the next day or so” She finally spoke up as if she were reading from a book. “Is there anything” She began to say when a loud roar pierced through the room, the wall to the left of me burst open pouring green flames into the room, the woman standing at the doorway was gone, even the doorway and most of the wall connecting to it was gone. A charcoaled skeleton slumped over the doorway as green flames lit it up.

Terror began to fill every bone in my body as I started to struggle to get out of bed. Outside a roar filled the air that only punctuated the sound of snapping and crackling of the fire. Diving over the right side of my bed and kicking it over with my foot I was able to set up a make shift shield that seemed to provide more of a mental protection against the Orphan than any actual protection from it’s flames.

Glancing over the top of the bed, to check on my newest enemy I was able to get a quick glance at the creature. It was dragon like in appearance with shimmering green scales that reflected off the sunlight from the building as it circled my hospital room from the outside. It’s yellow slitted eye peering in every few seconds. Its muzzle opened and snapped shut every few seconds; showing off its huge teeth while it’s tongue licked the air. Growing down its green skin were rows upon rows of crystal like thorns that littered it’s back and knees.

The Orphan finally landed in my room with a sickening thud, it’s claws gripped and tore the tile off the floor while it’s head scrapped the ceiling as it bent down to fit into the room. It leaned its massive head in; it’s tongue flicking out to smell the air. I had no choice now; I had to fight this thing. Materializing the bow and arrows into my hand, I had a sudden jolting reminder that I was still connected to the IV that dripped what I guess was water into my system. Slowly and a bit painfully, I took out the IV and freed my arm up to fight. Which began the second problem, I was still in a hospital gown, which meant that jumping and dodging was out of the question with this on. Along with the fact that my head ached, my legs ached, and the arm that my IV was previously in felt like it was on fire. I was not ready for a fight.

The dragon’s head nudged my makeshift shield as it probed deeper into the room. When it found that it couldn’t move it easily, it nudged it again. The head reared back and a gargling noise could be heard in its throat. It was now or never. I popped up and let loose a barrage of arrows, sending one after the other, as fast as my hands could possibly fire. The dragon let loose a roar as it stumbled backwards from the weight and pain of the arrows.

The Orphan took flight again, it’s throat filled with a disgusting green color. It reared it’s head back again and let loose a torrent of flames. Not taking any chance I turned and jumped through the door of my room, rolling across the hall into the adjacent room as flames poured out through my room and into the hallway. Turning my jump into a tumble, I skidded across the room and came up with my bow at the ready. “Aya?” A voice to the right of me said in shock and surprise.

“Get down” I warned, it was Arakami, the nurse and medical specialist who was only seconds of way from going to check on me next. If she had walked in just a few seconds earlier. She would have been charcoaled like the other nurse.

“What’s happening?” She asked, I put my hand up trying to tell her that I would answer all her questions as best that I could in a minute. Right now that Orphan needed all of my attention. Darkness filled the window behind me; it couldn’t be the dragon, could it? I turned just in time to feel the quick rush of air and concrete as the wall exploded. I jumped away instinctively, but the hospital gown I was in, tangled up my feet and caused me to only leap away a few feet before I landed flat on the floor.

The arm belonging to a huge pincer orphan reached in to try and grab a hold of me. I twisted myself around trying to keep from getting caught in its claws as it made repeated slashes at me. “Help” I pleaded over at Arakami as my bow went flying out of my hands and under a bed while it’s claws ripped across my back taking most of the hospital gown with it. I winced in pain as blood began to drip down the side of my back and down onto the floor.

Arakami quickly ran over and scooped me up taking me to the far side of the room; running out into the hallway was out of the question due to the green fire that continued to burn down it. All we could do is stay in here until help came. The arm came through the window again, we were just out of the reach of it as Arakami brought me as far out of it’s reach as possible. The lancing pain that burned in my back began to take its toll as my eyelids began to droop lower and lower. The last sound I heard were the sounds of crows outside, and more windows crashing as the arm reached in again for me.
