Note: Not like such people seem to exist, but if you're one of those few who havent read the book and are planning to, the topic may contain spoilers from it.

So... once again, this one comes out in November, a day before my birthday like the first two (they were both within two days apart)... Weird.

This was by far my favorite book in the series, and the movie seems alright from the previews. The one thing that seems to disappoint me are the champions. Krum is the ONLY one of the three that looks anywhere near what I pictured him to be.
Plus, seeing as they are rather important now, IMO they made a huge mistake by not introducing Cedric OR Cho in the last movie.

Aside from that... hopefully this movie will turn out good.

N.B. Why do I get this feeling the Quidditch Cup will be rushed?

You know I'm reading GOF now and it describes Krum as skinny. But even though he looks WAY different to what I expected, he does actually look really good. Fleur looks a lot different than I imagined but Cedric is spot on. Mad-Eye's eye is weird, obviously it was difficult to give him an eye which was electric blue and swivelled....and he looks kinda pudgy. I hope he still has a wooden leg.

I saw a trailer on TV which had Cho in (*Growls sexfully*) and the dragon looks ace. Dumbledore extracting a memory also looks amazing. Madam Maxime isn't quite what I expected - I expected a sort of fat woman. Like an opera singer or something, hehe. She does look good though. The beaky nose etc.

Voldemort's face looks good to. Always something I found hard to envision but excellent job.

This movie should be THE shnizzle.

Did you know?

The following characters ARE NOT appearing in the film:

-Bagman
-The Dursleys
-Dobby
-Winky
-Molly Weasley

Apparently Neville gives Harry the Gillyweed for the second task. But why would he steal from Snape's store? For Harry? And break the rules of the task?!

I know cuts have to be made, but still...

Some screen grabs I made of the first trailer for veiwing pleasure. Krum looks.. rawr.. ahem anyway. It looks like it's going to be a good film, lots of impressive showing off bits between the schools, and the ball looks really well done. It's been so long since I read GoF i honestly can't remember how it goes. Other than a bit where viktor krum is supposed to go swimming in just a pair of shorts... *dreams* uh what..

Hopefully he'll still half-transfigure into a shark for the 2nd task. That wound look good.

No Dobby or Winky? Then the later ones wont make sense!!!

Dobby is one of my favorite characters, that's the only thing about the movie that really makes me upset. Moody's appearence seems to put some people off, but I don't think it's incredibly terrible.

Can't wait to go. SC and I are going first night it comes out, probably eighteen times. Book four was immense, and was the real turning point for the series. From the moment Cedric dies and Voldemort returns the whole story takes a different turn. I'm really hoping the movie shows that direction. Can't wait.

[i]some of the things in the movie are going to be a tad off w/o dobby, and even winky. i'm looking forward to see how they have mad-eye look, though i think what i have in my head and what he is going to look like is different. other than that, can't wait to see the movie when it comes out. haha yea i'll be going w/ bb88, we even had a good idea of how to dress up for the movie w/ some of our friends if we do infact dress up for the movie.

Apparently Bill and Charlie aren't in it anymore, either.

Now I know I'm mainly posting bad things, but despite the cuts, I'm very excited. We all knew, when Book 4 was released, cuts would be made. Didn't some speculate the movie was going to be in 2 parts? It's a shame so much is thrown away, but we will still have a solid and exceptional film, I hope. I'm going to look at it as a film, not a film adaptation of the Book. *crosses fingers*.

A little off topic, but using Snape or Slughorn?

ARGH! Is that supposed to be the Hungarian Horntail?!? Oh mY God! It looks freakin ugly...the Horntail's supposed to be black people...

And is it just me who's reminded of Senator Palpatine when looking at Voldy?

Well, the trailer won't freakin load so I'll have to make do with pictures and hearsay...but did I read correctly? No Dobby or Winky??? Neville giving Harry Gillyweed??? *swoons* I've had it...I know that the films are adaptations, but seriously, in PoA, they didn't even explain how Sirius escaped from Azkaban!! *looks incredulous* Is it just me or is that kinda important for the storyline...?!?

On a lighter note, I am looking forward to more of the delightful Gary Oldman as Sirius...*drools* mmm...*goes to change avvy*

Snape, of course. We're also having a rather large-eared friend of ours be Dobby. Mostly due to his serving nature.

Hmmm ... I saw the preview for this movie a week or so ago, and it looks really good. But still, I hate that they have to butcher the book so much to adapt it to the big screen. I wish it could be so much truer to how JK Rowling had it in the 4th book, which was my favourite book by far.

And a lot of things look different to how I imagined them, especially Sirius's face in the fire and the way Dumbledore extracts memories.

Still, I absolutely can't wait to see this movie; it's going to be awesome!

Cheers!

So, no house elves, and Snape was nice in this film. I went as, of course, Severus Snape, and pulled it off quite well. I pissed off small children. :)

OKAY WTF. COMPOSITION NOTEBOOKS, PENS AND NEVILLE WORE SHOES ON HIS SHIRT.

And what happened to the Quidditch World Cup?!? And why was no-one bothered that Barty Snr. was dead? Seriously, quite a big deal, really...

*is generally peeved with the film, mainly because of the lack of Sirius...*

And where was Snuffles?!? Gah!

Well, seeing how it IS a film and they can't make it last as long as the book... (it was quite long as it is, so making it any longer would be extremely difficult- especially with so many subplots and everything.) ... I think they did a good job. I *HIGHLY* recommend you read the latest Entertainment magazine, the one with Mr. Harry Potter himself on the cover. They do a nice job explaining the movie and you really calm down after reading how much difficulty they went through to decide what to keep and what to cut.

The important stuff was kept, and that's what was important. I really didn't think the House Elves thing was important... nor the thing with the Dursleys... and stuff like that. I love the way they portrayed the enterance of the two schools, especially Krum. The Quiditch game in the beginning was really well done...although it's too bad we didn't get to see it in action. (Of course, with so many plots... hard to do such a thing.)

I'm a huge fan of Cedric, even in his death. I always imagined him as a handsome young man... and I wasn't disappointed. (Also, the actor is 17 in real life... so I'm not a pedophile. Yay!) lol... excuse me... I'm gonna go stalk..

Can that be purchased in England?? I appreciate the fact that it would have been uber-long with everything else in it too...but some details....well, guess I'm just a rabid book fan! Pretty much the only reasons I watch the films are because of Sirius/Snape/Buckbeak! ^^ Aaaw...Beaky...

And Dragons...although I was peeved at the lack of blackness on the Horntail...

Although what did you think of the Barty Crouch (Snr.) thing at the end...?? Did Harry actually tell Dumbledore that he was dead?

Yeah.. I understand your passion for books. It was just like me when I saw the LotR, and I was already a very rabid Legolas fan (before I even knew Orlando Bloom) and I was quite peeved how they took away many key Legolas parts. *grumble grumble*

I like watching the movie for the effects, which they do a great job at. However... about the Barty Crouch Snr... it was implied I believe. We never *actually* get to hear Harry say anything to Dumbledore about it, but it is definately implied right after Harry sees his dead body on the ground.

You were annoyed about the Legolas bits being cut out? In my opinion Legolas got off lightly compared to Gimli, who was mainly shown to be a dwarf who never gets the last laugh. If my memory serves me correctly, Peter Jackson completely ignored the parts of the books where Tolkien goes into great detail about the number of new arseholes Gimli rips. Entire chapters just on Gimli tearing people new arseholes. It even missed out the bit at the end of ROTK where Gimli murders everyone at Aragorn's wedding. Abomination!

I noticed that, in the movie, they had crazier weather than in New England... one day it's snowing, the next it's summer!

It is supposed to be set in (real) England, such freak weather changes aren't uncommon here.

I haven't read the books but I have seen all the movies. I think I liked the third one better than this one, parts of this just seemed very rushed, especially the end. All the interviews of the actors I'd seen built up Cho to be some huge part, but she only had like 2 lines. I can't be a judge of how good it was as a movie based on a book, but just as a movie I felt it was very sketchy in parts and a lot was missed out that could've made it better, it was already nearly 3 hours long though, children get bored quickly and easily.

Yeah, but one minute it's snowing and everything's dead, the next there's green leaves on the trees again. Sorry, but as a weather geek, I notice inconsistencies like that, and I think I was pretty vague on what I meant, because what I noticed was that this is a runon sentence, and that there would be several cycles of fall, winter and spring during the year.

I finally sawed it!! I didn't like how everything was cut and rushed, but they didn't really have many options. two movies would've told the story better, but I don't know how that would be a good idea... eh, I dunno, movies based on books almost always suck, so it wasn't a terrible job I suppose. if anything there was plenty of eye candy. mmm twins... they got more lines than usual this time around, me = happy. :)

Quite possibly the biggest waste of two and a half hours of my life. This movie was terrible, and the acting from the main three has just gotten worse. I find it difficult people can pick up how bad the acting is on inconsequential actors like the twins are but not notice that watching Harry, Hermione and Ron for two and a half hours is like sticking a skewer through your temple and spit-roasting your face.
