*salutes everyone* I'm a late signer-upper. Meaning only 2 points for me. But I'm not complaing. (money is money right?)
Anyways, I'll ref this match. Will give me the time to work on my creative skills.

EDIT- Oh right.. Um.. Your both pretty experienced.. So.. *Picks a peice of paper from butter container >_>*

Thanks for Reffing Hakuro, and sorry for not replying, I didn't notice >_<.

Anyway, I'm picking first, so lets find two pokemon that will be a tough nut to crack. Seedot's a nut, but he's easy to crack so it wont be him...

So lets go, Haf (male Blaziken) and Mani (Lunatone)!

Hmmm...those are two tough nuts to crack...

I know! I'll send the nutcrackers to beat them! XD

Lets rock Elekid (Male Elekid) and Taina (Female Marshtomp)!

All right! Lets do this!

Elekid, set up a Light Screen large enough for the both of you as well as a Barrier for two afterward. Then hit Mani with a well-aimed Thunderbolt!

Light Screen (Enough for two) ~ Barrier (Enough for two) ~ Thunderbolt (@Lunatone)

Taina, lets lock away Haf with a Rock Tomb, then aim a Muddy Water at Mani to the eyes to blind it out. Should Haf break free of Rock Tomb, deliver a Toxic to him. If not, then use it on Mani instead.

[b]Rock Tomb (@Blaziken) ~ Muddy Water (@Lunatone) ~ Toxic (@Blaziken)/(@Lunatone)

Taina: Marshtomp! ^_^
Elekid: Kid! Elekid! ^_^

I've never heard of any of the songs you talk about.

OK Mani, while Elekid is setting up his defences, lets use Safeguard to protect against anything that might get thrown at you. Now whether you get blinded or not, get the ground moving with an Earthquake and finish by using Future Sight on Taina.

Haf, lets do some stuff here. Jump, as high as you can. Use Quick Attack if it helps get height, but enough to get out of the way of the Rock Tomb. Now do it again, and use Quick Attack if necessary. Jump the moment Lunatone hits the ground, so you avoid the Earthquake. Lastly Roar at Taina and distract her from using that Toxic.

Tournament Battle

Intro

Spectators climb into there appointed seats, just as the large over head screen begins to bare the information for this fierce battle. It had been a long time since anyone here had seen a tournament, and all the combatants, including the two that are psyching themselves up for this match, were extremely excited.
On the far south side, a large, wooden door begins to creek open, and before you know it, a young male, dressed in Hogwarts standard uniform, baring his custom made crest enters the arena. He waves sheepishly to the crowd as all his fellow harry potter fans squeal and cheer in delight.

“Our First combatant; who had come all the way from Hogwarts! Chris Watarimono! “

The fans go wild as Chris puts both his hands in the air and waves to his adoring public, he smiles, and turns his gaze to across the bare arena, to the North Side.

Similar wooden doors fly open with a violent gust of air, people fall silent as cherry blossoms and leaves fly through the and create a dazzling yet, mysterious effect.
Slowly, another male enters into view. The crowd begins to cheer wildly as they see the infamous Victreebel symbol worn on this boy’s shirt. He smirks and waves calmly to his adoring fans, before his gaze, locks with Chris.

“Coming from the busy ASB Central! Our very own! RaZoR LeAf!”

The large metallic doors on the arena floor start to slid open, a beautiful grassy plain reveals itself to both combatants, they both being to contemplate their Pokemon and strategy.

“Welcome! To The Missing Link Tournament!”

RaZoR LeAf picks first, reaching to his belt, he pulls not one, but two pokeballs. Calm and collectively, he tosses them onto the field to reveal Haf his male Blaziken, and Mani his Lunatone.

Chris isn’t fazed, he reacts according, and just like RaZoR, pulls two pokeballs from his belt, and tosses them onto the field.
They flash open to reveal Taina his female Marshtomp and his trusty male Elekid!

As this happens, the ref sneakily slips into the Arena Audio system his own custom made CD, and soon, the battle music is beginning to blare as this battle heats up.

Battle Music- Unwritten Law - The Celebration

Round One

The to dualists call out their commands to their Pokemon, and soon, the stage is set for a devastating battle.

Attacking quickly, the small, yellow Pokemon at the south end of the stadium begins to focus, his eyes glow white, and mental energy pours from his body and forms a small screen infront of him, but as his trainer commands, the screen expands, wider and wider until finally, it now protects Both the Elekid who summoned it, and the Marshtomp.

Speaking of which, the Marshtomp and Lunatone act upon similar times, Lunatone, acting seconds before Marshtomp, summons a silver shield which surrounds the Lunar Pokemon in a defence action, but quickly fades from view.

The female Marshtomp isn’t on the defensive, as she stomps the ground once, twice, three times the charm, which in turn, summon great rocks to shoot out of the grassy plain, ripping plants from their roots and seemingly trapping Haf, the Blaziken inside.

Haf isn’t without a plan, charging up energy, he bolts, bounding onto a side of a rock, and then propelling himself forward, he shoots out of the rocky tomb before any damage can be dealt, and like a ninja, lands perfectly, his back to Taina, who glares in rage as her attacks has failed to do its job.

Elekid, not really paying attention to the events which are happening, begins a similar defencive route, and summons another shield. This Barrier then expands much like the Screen had and provides another layer of defensive cover for the Bashamo team.

Taina isn’t discourage, attacking quickly upon her trainers commands, she scoops up come sand, and dirt, and summons up some water. And in turn, spits the disgusting creation from her mouth, and waters it small into Mani’s eyes.

Mani isn’t really affected but Taina’s plan. It looks over at Haf, who nods in his masculine tone. Mani reacts just as Haf leaps high into the air, propelled by a quickly created quick attack, he watches from above as the ground begins to shake violently under Elekid, and Taina. Elekid of which, falls over as the attack deals some nice damage.

As both Team members of the Bashamo team have fallen over and trying quickly to recuperate, our sights turn to Mani. Who despite having mucky water over its eyes, focuses on Marshtomp, and then it leaves our plain of reality, and begins to see into the future. Mani has the gift of the sight…

Elekid tries to save his friend from Mani, painfully forcing his body up, he charges a bolt of lightning and casts it at Mani, whose eyes dull to their normal color just as the bolt strikes. But, due to its counter part of rock, the bolt of lightning doesn’t deal as much damage and one would of thought.

Taina is annoyed, having most of her plans fail this round was starting to really peeve her off. And as that cocky Blaziken Haf only could smirk at her ‘pathetic’ attempts. She secretly forced up a purple toxin which would greatly deprive Haf of any bragging rights.

Haf, keeping up his cocky glow, takes a deep breathe, and just as Taina is about to spit, he roars. A terrifying, ear pinching, hair raising, roar erupts from his soul, and over takes any pathetic attempt from Taina to attack. Who as scared as she was, spits out the toxin onto the ground, and quickly backs up, terrified by Haf.

Maybe it's just me Hakuro, but the bars of colour are very difficult to read. Thanks for the fast reffing though.

OK Haf, lets start off with a Sunny Day. Even if it doesn't stay all round, someone will have to spend time cancelling it. Now head forward and use Brick Break on those annoying shields to shatter them. Finish with a Blaze Kick against Elekid.

Subs: [i]If it does begin to rain before the end of the round, swap Blaze Kick for Body Slam

Mani, lets try and aid your team mate in this round. Start off with a medium sized Substitute. Now that you're safe for a moment, slam yourself against Taina with a double Body Slam

Chris Watarimono
16th October 2005, 05:31 PM
Lunatone isn't really resistant to Electric attacks, since you're confusing its Rock typing for Ground typing, where the latter does nullify them. And I'm not sure how Muddy Water isn't very powerful on the Lunatone as well. But otherwise, good reffing Haruko. Thanks for volunteering. :3

Elekid, use Quick Attack to get in front of your shields. As Haf comes in with Brick Break, I want you to take the blow in the shield's stead, and Counter that attack. Even if the shields are broken, that's all right, just be sure you knock Haf away. As Haf comes back for a Blaze Kick, stop him dead in his tracks with a well-placed Thunder Wave!

Taina, pull off a Rain Dance to cancel the Sunny Day. As Mani comes in with Body Slam, Counter it. That should destroy the Sub, or at least put a dent into it. Vent out your anger and fear upon Haf by mowing him down with Frustration.

Elekid: Quick Attack ~ Counter (@Blaziken) ~ Thunder Wave (@Blaziken)
Taina: Rain Dance ~ Counter (@Lunatone) ~ Frustration (@Blaziken)

Elekid: Elekid! ^_^
Taina: Tomp! >O

Round TWO

Haf (Blaziken)[M]: 100% | 7% Fatigue
&
Mani (Lunatone)[/]: 92% | 10% Fatigue - Blinded

VS

Taina (Marshtomp)[F]: 95% | 9% Fatigue - Slightly pissed off, targetted by Future sight (2 rounds left)
&
Elekid [M]: 90% | 11% Fatigue - Barrier AND Light Screen set up

--Attacks--

Razor Leaf:
Haf: Sunny Day -- Brick Break (Elekid) -- Blaze Kick/Body Slam
Mani: Medium Sub (15%) -- Body Slam x2 (Taina)

Chris:
Elekid: Quick Attack ~ Counter (@Blaziken) ~ Thunder Wave (@Blaziken)
Taina: Rain Dance ~ Counter (@Lunatone) ~ Frustration (@Blaziken)

BEGIN!

After the first round, tension was rising and the two male trainers kept the tempo flowing. As a tune pumped through the speakers across the stadium, the proud Blaziken, Haf, clenched his fists and began to concentrate hard. The big puffed up clouds gently parted from in front of the sun, revealing the marvellous source of sunshine. Haf began basking elegantly in the sun, smiling. Mani, meanwhile, created a copy of itself. It was very well-done, although looked weak in places and was evidently a decoy. But would it fool the opponent?

Elekid darted quickly in front of his two sparkling shields. Meanwhile, Taina, uncomfortable in the heat, flapped her padded flipper-like paws and csummoned up the clouds to block out the sunshine. The greying clouds opened up and peppered the arena with bullets of rain.

Haf raced through the air, legs working furiously. Elekid was standing in the way of the shields, but it did not matter. With a series of swift chops and hits, Elekid was hurtled back, being so small. He smashed through both the shields and fell to the ground, dazed and rather irked as shards of his shields rained upon him. Mani, floating by Razor Leaf, suddenly floated through the air at Taina and hovered over the mudfish. Dropping his gravitational act, the heavy rock attempted to drop onto the Marshtomp's head, however due to his partial blindless he did not actually hit her but instead slammed into the ground. However, Team Watarithing were not beaten. Elekid countered his foes attack, dealing more damage then he recieved.

Noticing the rain, Haf moved to plan B. Racing through the air, he leapt up and delivered a heavy blow to Elekid. The little plug Pokemon gave a groan of discomfort as Mani did a body slam similarly to before on Taina again. Elekid charged up, swinging his club-like arms and released jagged bolts of electricity. They homed on to Blaziken and engulfed him, causing numbness and paralysis. Meanwhile, Taina began unleashing her frustration upon Haf, pummelling away. The second round ended, and the stakes were higher than ever.

Haf (Blaziken)[M]: 84% | 15% Fatigue - Paralyzed
&
Mani (Lunatone)[/]: 77% | 21% Fatigue - SUB: 15% HEALTH- Blindness is easing up

VS

Taina (Marshtomp)[F]: 89% | 16% Fatigue - Targetted by Future sight (1 round left)
&
Elekid [M]: 77% | 19% Fatigue - Bruised

A few notes just to keep confusion away.

-Mani's blindness caused its lapse in judgement for turn 2, and therefore it missed Taina. Therefore Taina couldn't counter it. But Mani DID manage to land a hit on turn 3.

-When you get anything in your eye, your body finds a way to stop it from hurting you for too long. Eventually it manages to move the dirt/debris/whatever to the corner of your eye to prevent as much harm. Simiarly, if you get a splinter in your thumb/finger, your body will naturally push it out when its ready. That is why Mani's blindness will be lifting over the next rounds.

-Future sight will land during the next round.

-Size has been taken into consideration. Blaziken is much MUCH bigger than Elekid and his punches will therefore deal more damage. Similarly, Elekid's attacks will deal slightly less. This isn't a whopping amount - 1 or 2% usually.

-Blaziken's paralysis will mean for example it cannot use its speed to its advantage. If it was told to use quick attack to evade an attack, it would be harder for it to do so.

Just wanted to clarify things. Any problems PM me.

Chris Watarimono
7th November 2005, 07:33 AM
To tell the truth, I was afraid that Counter on Blaziken wouldn't work period, considering the size difference between the two monsters. I never thought of it to be the smartest move around for that reason.

Back to the match itself...

Elekid, hit with Thunderbolt on Blaziken, Psychic to grab Blaziken by the legs and twist those legs around to damage them as much as possible. End with a Dynamicpunch on Mani (or its Sub if its still standing) to beat it down.
If rain ends, then switch whatever move on Blaziken to Toxic but keep the Punch for third action.

Thunderbolt (@Haf) ~ Psychic (@Haf)~ Dynamicpunch (@Mani)
(Toxic)

Taina, we have to be careful for that Future Sight that's going to come.

Hit hard with Hydro Pump on Mani, an Iron Tail on the Lunatone again, then lock Haf away with [b]Rock Tomb.

Whenever the Future Sight arrives, foresake an action to block it with Protect should your turn persists. Any removal of rain, switch Hydro Pump with Dynamicpunch.

[b]Hydro Pump (@Mani) ~ Iron Tail (@Mani) ~ Rock Tomb (@Haf)
(Protect; Dynamicpunch)

Elekid: Kid! ^_^
Taina: Marshtomp! ^_^

RaZoR LeAf
8th November 2005, 12:08 PM
Mani, your substitute will protect you from that Hydro Pump at the very least, so I want you to start off by grabbing Elekid with Psychic and throwing him at Taina. Now, if your substitute is still intact, then use your rock body as part of a Rock Slide against Elekid. Finish with Flash to blind your enemies and throw off their attacks.

Subs: If your substitute breaks after the Hydro Pump, then use Earthquake to throw your enemies off balance.

Haf, hopefully Mani will deal with Elekid using Thunderbolt, but in any case, use Slash across Elekid's eyes. Now if Mani's substitute is till intact, then turn your attentions to Taina, and use Brick break on her back, hopefully that'll cripple her a fair bit. Finish off by Countering that Rock Tomb yourself.

Subs: If Mani's Substitute breaks, then ride out the Earthquake with Protect

BEGIN!

Already emotions were high as so much was at stake. Dan, aka Razor Leaf, seemed confident as he faced Chris, aka...well, aka Chris. Urgh it's been a bad day.

It was Watarimono's Elekid which began things off. A jagged bolt of electricity swept upwards and arched down to smash into Haf. The lithe chicken was struck and gave a growl of agony as sparks danced across his body. Meanwhile, Taina aimed a powerful hydro pump at Mani. The Lunatone gave an odd crooning noise as the powerful jet of water smashed into its impressive substitute. The substitute was now weak, but it remained in tact.

Haf, meanwhile, was somewhat cruel as he darted towards the small Elekid. Raking his sharp claws across the little spark-plug's face, he caused searing pain to overcome the small Pokemon. Many of the audience found this absolutely disgusting behavior as poor Elekid's eyes filled with blood. Razor Leaf, however, was only intent on one thing - victory.

Mani came in next and used a psychic attack to levitate Elekid up into the air. The poor Pokemon gave a whimper as he was hurled into Taina, dealing moderate damage. Blood leaked down the mudfish, but it was soon washed off by the rain.

Elekid wanted to prove he was more than a small victim. Concentrating hard, he focused on Haf's legs, trying to manipulate his energy into a psychic form. For someone of Elekid's type and size, however, such a feat was not manageable. However, the result was still effective - a strained feeling rose up Haf's athletic legs. It stung and ached, causing him to take little damage but use up much more fatigue. Meanwhile, Taina leapt up and, tail glowing with a metallic sheen, she swung it into Mani's substitute and finally destroyed it in an explosion of fantastic awe. Mani watched sadly.

Haf ran to Taina, somewhat slower than before, and planted two firm chops into the fishes back. Taina gave a yell and stumbled forward, not happy at all. Her back ached somewhat. Tut tut. Posture isalways important, Taina. Mani meanwhile began using its body to propel itself into Elekid, dealing effective damage to the small Pokemon.

Elekid began to glow and swept forward, fist glowing. However, his bleeding eyes were causing extreme pain, and his concentration ebbed away as he swung and missed. Mani suddenly released a blinding light across the arena, stunning Taina mainly, as Elekid was cringing as blood ran down his face.

Taina stumbled around, trying to summon up some rocks. Large, slightly pointed rocks burst from the ground and tilted at such an angle that they trapped Haf. Haf was not happy at all, countering the attack. However most of his energy was used breaking free of the tomb, so his attack dealt only light damage to Taina. Taina was caught off guard, however, when a whirring noise filled the air. Looking around, she was confused. What was going on? A streak of purple energy burst up from the ground and struck her for light damage.

Haf (Blaziken)[M]: 69% | 26% Fatigue - Paralyzed
&
Mani (Lunatone)[/]: 77% | 30% Fatigue - Blindness has pretty much gone.

VS

Taina (Marshtomp)[F]: 79% | 32% Fatigue
&
Elekid [M]: 63% | 29% Fatigue - Vision impaired, bleeding heavily, upset and very hurt

Hmm, OK Mani, grab Elekid with Psychic and flick him into the air and away from the battle. Use a Cosmic Power to boost your defences then grab Taina with Psychic and slam her into the ground.

Haf, how about a Sunny Day to get things started, then Double Kick Taina again and finish by Bulking Up

Sorry for the delay guys - right now I'm in Situation Critical. I'll resume with attacks tomorrow.

Sorry for the lateness, but this is really a tough choice to make.

Taina, use a powerful Dynamicpunch on Mani to disrupt his concentration with Psychic. Then hit hard with Hydro Pump on Haf, but make sure you wait for the Rain Dance to take effect. End with another Hydro Pump on Haf.

If Rain Dance fails to come, then use two Mud Shots instead of two Hydro Pumps on Haf.

Dynamicpunch (@Mani) ~ Hydro Pump (@Haf) ~ Hydro Pump (@Haf)

Elekid, whether or not you get tossed aside, I want you to use Meditate on yourself immediately to refocus your battle energies. Use a Rain Dance to restore rain, and end with a brutal Focus Punch to really wreck up Mani's concentration. It might be buffered due to the Cosmic Power, but take off as much life energy as possible!

If you do get tossed away from the battle after your first action, then use Quick Attack for as many actions as necessary to get back in the battle.

Meditate ~ Rain Dance ~ Focus Punch (@Mani)

Razor Leaf:
Mani: Psychic (Elekid) -- Cosmic Power -- Psychic (Taina)
Haf: Sunny Day -- Double Kick (Taina) -- Bulk Up

Chris:
Taina: Dynamicpunch (Mani) -- Hydro Pump x2 (Haf)
Elekid: Meditate -- Rain Dance -- Focus Punch (Mani)

BEGIN!

The rather eerie Lunatone's eyes glowed a feverish red. Elekid looked around, somewhat scared by the antics of the creepy rock. With a start, a glow engulfed Elekid, and Mani hurled him across the arena. Elekid gave a disgruntled buzzing noise, hitting the ground and groaning. Blood leaked much less frequently now. Elekid was nonplussed, and began meditating to calm down.

Meanwhile, Haf, legs rather sore from the paralysis, gave a steady roar as the heat from the sun intensified. Taina rushed into a dynamicpunch, charging up energy and sweeping across the arena. Leaping up, Taina blindly swung her paw up, hitting Mani's side. Unfortunately dynamicpunch had a low accuracy, and while Taina hit Mani, it was not int he most effective area of the rock-like Pokemon. Mani began to concentrate as cosmic stars twinkled around its body, giving it something of a boost in terms of defence.

Haf leapt up heartily and delivered a double kick to Taina. However, Haf's paralysis caused him much pain, and a definite increase in fatigue. Nevertheless, he delivered the twin kicks to the mudfish's face, causing effective damage.

Elekid, far from the action, sped through the air with a quick attack to get back in the game. As he did this, his ally, Taina, blasted a stream of muddy water into Haf. The heat of the intense sun did not, however, derive from the fact that Haf suffered greatly as the muddy sludge slapped into his face.

Mani was not content, gripping Taina and hurling her across the arena. Taina gave a disgruntled cry of her name as she slammed into the ground. Haf, meanwhile, began flexing his proud muscles, working on boosting his attack AND defence. Taina delivered another mud shot, slamming Haf hard. Finally, Elekid finished up by focusing his energy into a fist. He raced at Mani, but his meditation was somehow lost in the frenzy of quick-attacking around the arena. He slammed into Mani, but did not deal the most damage possible.

One round remained, and both Razor Leaf and Chris Watarimono knew they must fight until the end if they wished to compete in the second round. Their Pokemon kept on going, desperate to earn a victory.

Haf (Blaziken)[M]: 61% | 40% Fatigue - Paralyzed - Attack + Defence boost
&
Mani (Lunatone)[/]: 63% | 41% Fatigue - Defences boosted

VS

Taina (Marshtomp)[F]: 68% | 43% Fatigue
&
Elekid [M]: 57% | 34% Fatigue - Vision impaired slightly less, bleeding has stemmed.

Intense Heat rages on

Note: Chris basically Focus Punch didn't work well because Elekid did not focus/meditate whatever directly before the attack. He can't focus, then do quick attack, THEN pull off an effective focus punch. Also his vision was a problem, too.

This might be a big risk here - but its a risk we're willing to take. Defintely great game Dan, this is by far the most challenging match I've ever encountered. Let's kick off to the finale!

Mani, begin with Calm Mind, to stem the violent urges you might get from your opponent acting like a fool. Now use Light Screen to defend against those incoming attacks. Finish by throwing Taina in the air with Psychic

Ok Haf start off with Smelling Salts, but use it on yourself. It should cure your paralysis if you can pull it off. Now attack Elekid with Aerial Ace since you're bound to hit his real form. Finish by using Sky Uppercut on the air bound Taina.

Subs: If you don't think Smelling Salts with cure your own paralysis then use Overheat

BEGIN!

There was a tasty tension in the air as the final round begun. Chris Watarimono and Razor Leaf each stared at each other, their Pokemon all fighting fit. The audience watched intently, cheering for their favourite battler. The referee (a strikingly handsome devil) clutched his flags tightly.

Elekid flashed white, chanting his name as he duplicated himself to produce five clones which, including himself, made six of the burly plug Pokemon. Meanwhile, Taina began walking and strutting in such a provocative manner that Mani felt itself being angered by the foe. However, Mani began to collect calming energy, rethinking things to help soothe the violent moods inside itself.

Next to Mani, Haf began slapping himself in the face, releasing a strange smell. The smell cured him from his paralysis, but dealt considerable damage. Haf swayed there, getting his senses back. Meanwhile, the real Elekid turned itself to Haf, using what little psychic powers he had to try and deal as much excruciating pain to the Blaziken as possible. However, Elekid's psychic powers were weak and undeveloped. All the psychic grip achieved was a brief choking motion, similar to being winded. Blaziken took little damage but his fatigue was burned suddenly by this.

Taina, on the other hand, furious at the failed swagger, clapped her hands and sang shrilly to the skies. Rainclouds opened up and began sending furious pelting rain down on the arena, which would suit Taina much more than it would Haf. Meanwhile, Mani set up a light screen infront of itself. Meanwhile, eyeing the real Elekid, Haf swept through the air and delivered a strong slicing tackle to the plug, causing it to fall down.

Mani was watching from behind its light screen as a huge bolt of electricity swept forward. As it passed through the light screen, some of the electricity remained, like a fly caught in a web, and the slightly weaker thunderbolt slammed into Mani straight away. Taina, on the other hand, blasted a thick, heavy stream of chilled water at Haf, hitting him square on.

Mani, meanwhile, stronger from the effects of swagger and the calm mind, grabbed Taina and hurled her up in the air. Taina gave a cry as fear flooded her senses. Haf, on the other hand, rocketed up behind her, swinging his fist up in a devestating uppercut. Taina's nose began to bleed, and as Blaziken majestically landed, Taina fell with something of a splatter, cracking a bone in her body.

Holy jeebus! That has to be the closest match I've ever partaken in! O_O; It seemed like throughout the entire battle, the whole matter was dead even! Still, gg Dan and good luck in Round 2!
