Rating system - help?

Well, I understand that "PG 13" or something serves as a warning for fics. But what does it mean? And what others are there?

PG 13, or Parental Guidance 13, simply put, means that the fic is suitable for a 13 years old and above. Other similar rating are PC 17, M, etc if I'm not mistaken. Overall, they are kinda like movies rating.

yep, if you see something like PG13, NC17, M or whatever, that's the same meaning as in movies and television/videogames. M means for a Mature audience. PG13 basically for kids 13 and older, 17 - 17 and older, R kinda like M. It's your decision whether to read the story or not, regardless of the rating.
A lot of times people just write what's gonna be in their fic that needs a warning. like Warning - violence and language. Or Warning - Gore, adult themes. That works really well too.

Pretty much anything goes here except for spam and hardcore hentai stories/pornography. if it's questionable just make sure to put some kind of warning just in case a younger reader's cruising the boards.

Wow, that's brilliant! Thanx. The pandas are awesome... I might use one if I make a site. Nah, It's because I'm writing a fic and didn't know how to rate it as a warning. Thanx.
