People: 29 December 2005, Thursday.

A Jewish millionaire from London has married a male dolphin this week, according to reports.

Sharon Tendler, 41, and 35-aged male dolphin Cindy wed in Israel's Eliat resort Wednesday. Tendler had received the approval of Cindy's trainer Maya Zilber for the unusual ceremony.

Tendler met Cindy fifteen years ago, when she visited Eliat's dolphin reef. The British rock concert producer immediately had a liking for the mammal, and since then has been visiting the resort several times a year.

The bride was wearing a white dress to the dock on Wednesday, when she married Cindy before a huge crowd of astounded visitors, newspaper Yedioth Ahronoth has revealed as cited by Ynetnews.com.

Cindy was waiting in the water and after "vows" were exchanged, Sharon was tossed into the water by her friends so that she could swim with her new husband.

Dammit Katie stop stealing my thoughts.

It's good to see that the term 'eccentric millionaire' is still viable these days. Cindy SO married her for the money.

Hey... I think I've met that dolphin! Back in 1997. But anyway, is that even legal? A dolphin can't possibly understand what all the ceremony is for, to begin with. And is she planning to move into the sea? That article doesn't seem to be serious.

Oy...

A dolphin named Cindy got "married" to a woman?

Now that is weird, in two ways to be exact.

One, I'm very sure Cindy is only a name for a female, and two, since when would a person marry an animal other than a human? o_O

That is totally ridiculous.

There is only one thing that covers this. FTW? I could have sworn that was against the law.

It lives in Israel, maybe Cindy is an acceptable male name there?

Yeah, I'll just stop trying to make this story sensible right now.

That is quite...creepy, I'd have to say.

Sounds a bit to screwed up to me. It has to be fake. I mean talking seriously, that's not legal is it?

Anyone who happens to be in Eilat can go to Dolphin Reef in a wedding dress and take a picture. That doesn't make the wedding real.

How did the dolphin agree to the marriage? ;o

A Jewish woman married to a dolphin...

This reminds me of that South Park episode where Kyle's dad gets a dolphinplasty (i.e. he has surgery to become a dolphin). This woman obviously stole the idea and should be stoned, since that is breaking the 2nd amendment, or some other crap.

I've seen that episode. Creepy.

But anyway, this marks the 484th time that I've lost faith in mankind.

The story has now reached FOX News- fun! This article adds backstory to the chick who married the dolphin and explains that it isn't meant to be that kind of marriage.

Ah, it feels good to have reached as much of normalcy as we get around here- finding idiots and their stories and taking turns making fun of them.

Y'know, the good old days.

(EDIT- link doesn't work anymore; sorry)

So, is that why you used in in your avatar? :p

Hm, I kinda agree with Lady Vulpix idea. Though it would be so weird if that really happens...

So, we have these 'most probably hoax, but could be true' (whatever they're called) back in TPM. The good old days...

[b][size=3] Hoax or no hoax, it is certainly true to the fact that rich people would do weird things. For this case of this lady, it would be marrying a dolphin.

There is one thing that amuses me much. What is so attractive of that dolphin that makes her want to marry it?

Magmar

It makes her wet.

This woman needs a good cock.

Bush will eat this up. "See what happens if we allow gay marriage? What's to stop a woman from marrying a dolphin named Cindy?"

Jeff

This woman needs a good cock.

Yeah, but you see, she seems to be exclusively in to dolphins though...

RedStarWarrior
8th January 2006, 01:24 AM
Jeff, she did say that she didn't rule out marrying a man someday...my question is, "Who the fuck would marry someone who is already married to a dolphin?" I like threesomes, but come on.

Jeff
8th January 2006, 07:33 PM
Actually I was going for a play on words there, seeing as "cock" also means rooster, guess I didn't make it clear at all . Anyway, this woman is nuts for thinking some guy will marry her when she is already married to a dolphin, then again, I didn't believe that anyone would marry a dolphin in the first place so maybe there is someone out there...

Arnen
8th January 2006, 07:52 PM
Eh, she's rich. She probably won't have any trouble finding a guy to marry her simply because of that fact.

'So long, and thanks for all the fish!'

All I can do right now is quote the best TV show made by man (Firefly):

"Hey! Some people juggle geese!"

And anyway, according to The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy, Dolphins are the smarter than humans.

I feel sorry for Cindy.
