Ariel Sharon's condition

Israel's PM, Ariel Sharon, has been in a medically-induced coma for 11 days following a massive stroke that resulted in brain hemmorrhaging. He had been given two emergency operations to reduce the bleeding in his brain.

The latest I heard on him can be found at http://www.cnn.com/2006/WORLD/meast/01/15/sharon.main.

Elections are coming up soon, and Acting PM Ehud Olmert may not draw as much support as Sharon would.

Will he live? Will he return to power?

Ariel is actually a unisex name. My cousin's a guy with that name. Arielle, on the other hand, isn't. What would you consider "Ari" short for?
