View Full Version : Dark Sage versus Hatake Kakashi (Ref Elec Man)

Dark Sage
2nd May 2006, 11:53 AM
Looking for a new challenge, since all my battles have been neglected.

Rules:

Number of Pokemon: 4, one at a time.

DQ Time: 1 Week

Banned Moves: Rest, Attract, Substitute, Recover, Toxic, Perish Song, Destiny Bond, and other cheap moves that my opponent doesn't want.

Location: Dark Demise, a standard haunted castle. We'll start out in the great hall, but we can easily move to a different room.

We each PM our first pokemon to the ref, and he'll decide who goes first at random.

I need a dedicated ref and opponent who will not abandon the battle.

Any takers? Four on four! Lots of points!

I'll PM you my first choice. I hope my opponent has done so.

Arena Status: A Haunted Castle

*Battle*
The two trainers arrive at the haunted castle, ready for a good fight. Without any hesitation, Dark Sage pulls out a pokeball from his belt. He tosses it to the ground, revealing a fiesty male Nuzleaf, named Oak. He stretches out and grins at the opposition. Hatake Kakashi pulls out his own ball, sending it flying to the ground. It pops open revealing a small Tyrogue, named Lance Uppercut, who punches his fist into his palm and lets out a battlecry.

The combatants contemplate their first commands, apparently not bothered by the fact that they're in a haunted castle.

Arena Status: A Haunted Castle

*Battle*
With the pokemon staring at one another, the two trainers shout their commands as the first round of this battle commences. The pokemon nod, and start clashing immedietly.

Lance closes his eyes, focusing on increasing his body size for battle. Oak has no intention of letting him get away with it successfully, however. He utilizes his speed and dashes straight at the baby fighter. With one quick motion he trips the fighting type, interupting his concentration and foiling his attack. The mischieveous grass type chuckles as Lance stands up, annoyed.

Not to be deterred this early in the battle, Lance bends his knees and leaps high into the air, almost up to the ceiling of the castle. Lowering his foot into position, he starts rapidly falling toward Oak, intending to crush him. The grass type grins, his eyes glowing with psionic energy. Using his mind, he enters Lance's conciousness and directly attacks his brain. Lance winces and grunts, but the discomfort isn't enough to stop the attack that he's already in the process of performing. He comes crashing down into Oak, sending him tumbling to the ground as Lance bounces backwards off the grass type, flipping before he lands on the ground. Nuzleaf stands up, rubbing his head from the pain of the impact, while Tyrogue just smiles wickedly.

Both pokemon glare at each other, in a sort of visual standoff. Each wanting to prove his power, both pokemon concentrating energy into their hand. At the same time, both pokemon execute an open-hand chop, each one hitting the other's side. Each pokemon tries to muffle a grunt of agony, neither wanting to give in even a bit. The two hop back from one another, trying to hide the pain they experienced from the attack.

As the two continue to stare one another down, the trainers look on, seeing a definate grudge match in the making.

You may not know Fire Punch yet, but there's still a trick up your sleeves! Use Rain Dance, but only if his Sunny Day works(being in a castle, and all o.o)

Either way follow-up with a Mach Punch attack, and when you're close, duck behind him and wait for him to fire off his Solar Beam before Seismic Tossing him(Suplex :D)

Arena Status: A Haunted Castle

*Battle*
The 2 pokemon continue to stare one another down. The trainers carefully pick their next set of moves, each hoping to gain an advantage.

Oak is the first to make an action. Closing his eyes, he focuses on the weather, a faint orange glow surrounding his body. Outside, the obligatory dark clouds surrounding the castle dissipate, making way for the moon (of course its nighttime, no one goes to haunted castles during the day :p). The moon shines brightly, though it has little effect on the area where the battlers are. A few beams of moonlight come through cracks in the ceiling, and a bit through the windows, but the majority of the arena remains dark. Not seeing any use in changing the weather back to the dark rain clouds, Tyrogue just relaxes, readying himself for his next action.

Nuzleaf focuses his attention back on his foe, who is still standing a few feet away. He gets ready to lunge at him, when suddenly he starts moving very quickly. Oak is unable to follow Lance's quick movements as he dashes behind the grass type, and then punches him in the back. Nuzleaf falls to the ground, grunting. Still lying on the ground, he turns around and grabs Lance's leg, hand glowing. A similar glow surrounds Lance as he is drained of health by Oak. Satisfied, the wily pokemon releases him and quickly stands up, facing his adversary and grinning.

Not wasting any time, Oak begins gathering light into the leaf on top of his head, preparing for a powerful attack. Lance quickly grabs hold of Oak's feet, though he doesn't take any action just yet. Finally Oak has enough energy for his attack, and the grass type takes the energy absorbed by his leaf into his body. His leaf glows brightly as he whips his head forward... using quick reflexes, Lance pulls Oak off his feet and starts spinning him around. Oak's leaf emits a bright beam of solar energy around the arena, while he is unable to aim it while spinning. The beam blasts the walls of the castle until finally Tyrogue releases Oak, sending him flying into a wall. He crashes through, creating a large hole. Slowly, he frees himself from the debris of the wall, and rubs his head. Angerly, he glares at Lance, not at all happy that his powerful attack was foiled.

Tyrogue grins at the wily pokemon, showing that he's plenty a match for him. As the round closes, the trainers contemplate their next move.

Alright sorry 'bout that.

Tyrogue, sock it with another Brick Break! If it tries to use Extrasensory, use Mind-Reader. Let's just pray it'll either give you the mental edge to resist it or (best case scenario) give him a direct link to the pain your feeling. If he doesn't, sneak behind it and Seismic Toss it again.

Either way, finish off by Mega Kicking it into a bookcase!

*Battle*
As round 3 begins, a strange moaning sound is heard throughout the castle. The 2 shiver a bit, but they try not to show their fear as the trainers shout their next commands to them. They nod and nervously face each other.

Still on the offensive, Lance rushes toward the crumbled wall that Oak now stands behind. He holds his open hand to the side, ready to chop the grass type once he gets close enough. Nuzleaf holds his hands outstretched, closing his eyes and concentrating. As he does, a transparent orb of energy surrounds his body, protecting him from harm. Reaching his target, Lance jumps over the rubble and brings down his hand in a karate chopping motion... straight onto Oak's shield. Tyrogue grunts, wincing as he feels a stinging pain in his hand from the impact. The wily grass type chuckles as the shield drops and Lance rubs his hand.

Using the opportunity, Oak's eyes begin to glow with a purple light. Tyrogue, hoping to avoid the attack somehow, closes his eyes, probing Oak's mind. Unfortunately, all he is able to discern from his limited mind reading abilities is that Nuzleaf is about to attack him with a psychic force. And just as he predicted, he does... using a psychic power the mischieveous grass type directly attacks Tyrogue's mind, causing great pain to the fighting type and also foiling his mind reading in the process. Lance cries out and holds his head, trying to block out the pain. As Nuzleaf finishes his assault the glow in his eyes diminishes. The 2 pokemon hear a sound from the side, and turn around to see 3 books floating mysteriously in the air. They look on, suprised and scared as the books crash into them, 2 hitting Oak and 1 slamming Lance in the head. Seems the spirits are restless.

Trying to ignore the ghostly books, which are now lying on the ground seemingly harmless, the 2 combatants glare at each other. Both begin focusing energy into their feet, each glowing with power. The 2 simultaneously swing their feet forward, crackling the air with power. They make contact with one another, each gritting their teeth and grunting as the energy and force of the attack causes signifigant pain. A bit more focused than Lance, who is a mildly confused by the earlier psychic attack, Oak's attack is more powerful and also better aimed, hitting the previously injured side. Lance drops to his knees, holding his side in pain, while Oak staggers back a few steps before regaining balance.

As the round closes, the eerie moaning is heard echoing throughout the castle once more. The pokemon shudder, wondering if its the same spirit that caused the books to attack them.

Oak, calm down... You're a Dark Pokemon for crying out loud.

Listen, get the jump on him by using Flash.

Alright Lance time to step it up a bit, eh?

Don't be afraid of the ghosts. In fact, let's show EVERYONE how tough you are! Close your eyes before he uses Flash and flex with Bulk up!

When he tries to encase you, send the rocks back with Counter.

If he tries Quick Attack, Counter that too. If he doesn't attempt it until you move, take a breather.

*Battle*
The trainers try to calm their pokemon down as the round begins, while at the same time shouting their next commands. The pokemon nod quickly and face one another.

Wanting to shed some light on the situation, Oak starts tapping into his photosynthetic receptors for light that he's stored. The fighting type quickly closes his eyes in preparation, and starts focusing on enlarging his muscles while he's immune to Oak's attack. The grass types entire body flashes as he releases stored light, illuminating the dark room temporarily, but unfortunately not effecting Lance, who is finished focusing, his muscles bulging with power.

The wily dark type sighs at his failed attack, but quickly continues his assault on Lance. His fist glows a faint brown as he slams it into the ground. A rumbling is heard beneath Lance's feet, and he quickly goes into a counter-stance, a blue aura surrounding his body. Controlled by Oak, 4 rock spires jut out of the ground beneath and around the fighting type... but under the force of the counter the rocks quickly shatter, sending debris flying everywhere. Oak looks suprised as Lance grins at him.

That done, both pokemon look at one another... each was ordered to attack only in reply to the opponents action, but it doesn't seem either of them is going to do anything. They both just stand there glaring at one another for a long while.

And in the same way the round ends, both pokemon staring one another down and waiting. Outside, unbenownst to the battlers since the library has no windows, the intensified moonlight dies down.

With no delay, the trainers shout their commands to their pokemon, who nod in reply, still glaring at one another.

Acting as quickly as his trainer, Lance starts rushing toward the grass type with blazing speed, fist at the ready. As he reaches the target, he slams his fist into... nothing? The fighter looks around, confused at where his tricky opponent has disappeared to. Silently, Oak reappears from the shadows behind Lance, and executes a quick tackle, knocking Tyrogue back. He turns around to see the grinning dark type, and growls at him.

Now quite annoyed, Lance flips himself to his feet and lunges toward Oak, ready to grab him. But Oak is starting to flicker, once again tapping into his photo receptors. Tyrogue responds to this, abandoning his throw. He instead closes his eyes and starts focusing endorphines into his muscles once more. He feels a surge of physical strength, while Oak harmlessly lets loose a bright flash of light. The flash seems to have disturbed the spirits this time, however. From a bookshelf emerges a single large book.... the Encyclopedia of DOOOM! It opens up to reveal mysterious jaws, and flies over to Oak, clamping its teeth onto his arm. He grunts and shakes the book off, bite marks now lining his arm.

Trying to ignore the floating book, Oak turns back to Lance, who now looks quite powerful despite his small size. He crouches down, then leaps high into the air, ready to excecute a powerful kick once he falls back down on his foe. Hoping to foil the attack, Nuzleaf's eyes begin to glow purple once more as he utilizes his limited mastery of psionic powers. He assaults Lance's mind directly with the psychic energy... causing him to temporarily lose track of what he's doing as he winces under the stress of the attack. He crashes into Oak, though he doesn't kick him because of the attack on his senses. Both pokemon are knocked to the ground, sprawling out and groaning. The still active Encyclopedia this time clamps onto Lance's back, giving him a nice chomp before floating back into the air.

As the menacing book floats, both pokemon slowly stand and face the book, ignoring one another for the time being.

We got a restless ghost in this room, and the best bet is to move this battle.

Oak, for this round I want you to use Dig, to burrow through the floor and move to whatever room is below this one. I'll follow.

After that, just take a breather until your opponent follows.

A word of advice to my opponent - I suggest you follow.

If for some reason, you can't, change tactics. Use Razor Wind on that ghost book until it is sliced into paper.

I find anything in Tyrogue's arsenal that can deal with a haunted tome, so I can't offer advice on that matter.

The trainers quickly shout their commands to their respective pokemon, who nod and face one another, ignoring the creepy dungeon scenery.

Lance once again utilizes his speed, running quickly toward Oak with his fist ready to punch. Oak starts building up wind energy with his leaf, hoping to slam Tyrogue as he approaches. He is unable to finish the attack soon enough, however, and Lance reaches his target, slamming his fist into Nuzleaf's stomach and sending him flying. The grass type winces, but still intends to attack. He nimbly lands on his feet, and after a few more seconds of gathering energy he whips his glowing leaf forward with a shout. This creates a narrow blast of wind, which tears through the air. As it hits Lance, he is pushed back substancially, and grunts as the concentrated burst causes brusing across his torso.

The fighter rubs his stomach, suprised that wind could cause such an injury. But he quickly turns his attention back to Oak, noticing his eyes starting to glow. Familiar with whats coming, Lance quickly holds out his hands, using them to focus energy and create a transparent sphere around his body. As Oak tries to attack the baby's mind, he finds out that he is unable, blocked by the energy shield. Still, he grins, knowing what his trainer has in mind. Lance lets the energy dissipate as he see's the glow in Oak's eyes disappear.

But just as quickly as it disappeared, the glowing eyes once again return. With some difficulty from stress, Tyrogue again holds out his arms, channeling energy to form another shield. Oak chuckles, knowing he'll be unable to attack but noticing the trouble the fighter had with erecting the shield. He cuts off his attack, letting Lance drop his shield as he puts his arms on his knees, breathing heavily.

His strategy successful, Oak grins at his trainer, who nods back to him. The battle is looking good for Oak, or as good as it can look fighting in a dungeon.

After some discussion, the 2 combatants shout their attacks to their pokemon, who still appear ready to duke it out.

Oak starts the round off, eyes glowing as he prepares for the familiar psychic assault. Tyrogue acts quickly, remembering the pain from the the attack. He starts making obscene gestures and shouting out insults at Oak. Of course, no one can understand the insults, but he's probably saying something about how wimpy his fighting skills are and maybe insulting Oak's mother or something. It has the desired effect, either way. Nuzleaf's eyes suddenly return to normal, unable to concentrate with such a distraction going on. He shouts out, obviously pretty angry from Lance's insult-fest.

Glad to have avoided that attack, Lance starts dashing toward the angry grass type, hoping to duck behind him and also to dodge Oak's kick. As the fighter gets close, Oak does just what Lance expects, pulling his foot back as he hops forward ready to smash him. He nimbly dodges under the attack, and grins, assuming himself safe from further attacks for the moment. However, it seems the wily Nuzleaf has tricked Lance, and he turns around and starts barraging him with all manor of attacks, enraged. Lance tries to block the assault, but is quickly overtaken by the repeated blows. As Oak stops his attack, Tyrogue groans in pain.

No longer behind the dark pokemon, Lance decides to go with a counterattack. He holds his hands ready at his side, concentrating as a blue aura surrounds his body. Oak is still fairly angry, and ignoring the aura, he pulls his hand back above his head, gathering a bit of energy around it. With a cry he brings his hand crashing down on Lance, only to have it meet with an invisible force, which redirects the attack back at him. The grass pokemon falls backward, hand throbbing with pain, as Lance winces. Even though he successfully countered, the attack still put some stress on his weakening body.

As the round closes, Oak kneels and holds his hand, still angry but at this point more concerned with the pain. Lance looks to be in even more pain, one eye closed and breathing heavily.

The trainers quickly shout their next commands, knowing this round will be Lance's last. The 2 combatants nod to their trainers and face each other for the last time.

The confines of the dungeon seem a dreary place to collapse, but thats just what Oak intends to make Lance do. His eyes glow as he prepares for one final psychic attack. Trying to ignore the pain as best he can, Lance raises a fist into the air, and brings it crashing down just as he feels the psychic assault effecting his mind. As he feels the pain in his head, Lance gives up, collapsing to the ground with his eyes closed. Though weakened by mind blast, Lance's final attack still shakes the dungeon some. Oak kneels and braces himself as a few rocks fall from the ceiling.

Had the quake been at full power, its possible the entire dungeon could have collapsed, but luckily for Oak this isn't the case. Hatake Kakashi considers his next pokemon choice as Oak breaths a sigh of relief, glad to have defeated the tough fighting child.

Round 10, and Hatake Kakashi returns his fallen fighter. Smiling, he pulls out another ball, which pops open to reveal a large Haunter. The ghost cackles as he floats over to his foe, looking him over. Oak watches carefully as the trainers shout their next set of commands to their pokemon.

Not wasting any time, Boo quickly throws a menacing glare toward Oak, eyes glowing pure black. The grass type steps back a bit, startled by the nasty look, and notices a faint black sphere encircling him. He doesn't think much of it at the time, and he tries to disappear into the shadows. But to his suprise, something is preventing him from doing so. His body appears locked into reality somehow. The ghost type cackles again, grinning evily.

Oak is still a bit puzzled, but he intends to continue with his ordered commands. His eyes glow as he prepares to use his psionic powers to assault the ghost. Boo smiles, and seeing his chance, quickly looses a white beam from his own eyes. The beam makes a direct hit on Oak, who suddenly feels dizzy and disoriented. Unable to get a lock on the Haunter's mind in this state, he releases the psychic blast nearby, ultimately doing nothing to either pokemon.

Still quite dizzy, Nuzleaf tries to focus on creating an orb of negative energy between his hands. Haunter does the same, building up a large energy orb between his 2 floatings palms. As Oak builds up the energy, his disorientation causes him to lose control, and the energy backfires on him, causing a stinging pain in his hands as the orb disappears. Boo chuckles again as he finishes gathering energy. He whips one hand forward, sending the purple ball flying at the confused dark type. It scores another direct hit, causing a small explosion of energy as Oak is thrown backward. He feels his body go numb, and then feels a sharp pain, and finally another pain as he hits the ground.

He slowly pulls himself up, still a bit disoriented, groaning in pain. Boo smiles widely toward his trainer as the round closes.

The 2 trainers shout their next set of commands, each hoping for different things. Dark Sage is hoping to keep his Nuzleaf fighting, while Kakashi is hoping to ruin that hope. The pokemon nod as Haunter cackles yet again.

Boo grins toward Oak menacingly, and then phases into the ground. Oak is still a bit disoriented, and he doesn't really pay much attention to the ghost type's disappearing act as he tries to clear his mind. Suddenly, Boo emerges from the floor behind Oak, and gives him a quick punch to the back of the head. Not expecting an attack from that angle, the grass type falls on his face from the blow. He slowly pulls himself up, groaning in pain but glad that the attack had a positive side effect. His mind is now clear, and he carries out his order without hesitation. The Nuzleaf's eyes glow black as he chants something indestinguishable, and a faint glow surrounds Boo. The dark pokemon grins weakly.

Haunter is unaware of what effect Oak's strange chant had on him, but he doesn't think anything of it. He tries to phase back into the ground as before, but an unknown force stops him. As he puzzles over whats wrong, Oak acts. The wily pokemon's fist glows brown as he slams it into the ground, summoning the earth to do his bidding. 4 rock spires jut out of the ground, each one nicking Boo and also effectively trapping him within a rock prison. He glares at the Nuzleaf, annoyed.

Hoping to regain a bit of HP, Nuzleaf ignores the extreme pain he is in and quickly runs up to Boo's prison. He reaches his hand between the rocks, trying to grab the ghost. He makes contact, body glowing as he drains a few points of Health, before Boo tries once more to phase into the ground. This time it works. He slips through Oak's hand and into the floor, only to reemerge again behind Oak. Boo whips his ghostly fist forward, deliverying a solid punch in the back to Oak. A cry is heard, and then goes silent. He falls to his knee's, nearly overcome by the pain.

Boo laughs at the sight of the groaning Nuzleaf, apparently very amused. Nuzleaf glares weakly at Boo, quite annoyed despite the heavy pain he is under.

Boo has a similar idea... he looks toward the rocks that Oak summoned last round, eyes glowing blue. An aura of blue surrounds 2 of the rock pillars as they float up into the air. The ghost feels a small probe at his mind and quickly turns around, using his psychic mastery to hurl the rocks at the wily grass type. Nuzleaf is knocked to the ground and crushed beneath the 2 rocks. He groans quietly as he lets the pain overtake him, unable to withstand it any more.

Dark Sage smiles proudly as he pulls out a pokeball and returns his fallen Nuzleaf. Looking back toward Boo, he pulls out a second ball. He tosses it, and it pops open to reveal Venus. The female Kirlia spreads her arms and spins around playfully before looking at her large ghostly foe. She looks toward her trainer, who quickly issues her first commands while Kakashi does the same for Boo.

Acting quickly, Boo smiles at the Kirlia as he phases into the ground. She doesn't appear too shaken by it, though. She calmly closes her eyes, concentrating as a duo of clones fade in beside her. As the Haunter phases back through the ground behind Venus, he is suprised to see not 1, but 3 Kirlia in front of him. He quickly launches his ethereal fist at the middle Kirlia... but feels no substance as his hand simply goes through the psychic type as it disappears. He frowns as Venus turns around, facing the ghost.

Not missing a beat, both pokemon hold their hands out. Between them, they begin chanelling ghost energy into an orb. Boo, being more experienced at using such an attack, forms his faster. He shouts as he whips one hand forward, sending the ghostly purple orb toward the left Kirlia. The psychic type winces as the orb makes contact, creating a small explosion and causing her a good deal of pain as her cell structure is assaulted. In the process, her concentration is lost and the remaining clone disappears from her side. Having managed to hold onto her energy during the attack, Venus quickly focuses a bit more into the orb before she also throws it, toward Haunter. The green tinted ball explodes on contact, causing him to groan as his own body feels a pain identical to what Venus felt, pushing him backwards in the process. The two look at one another, both impressed at the others power.

Going back on the offensive, Boo once again phases into the ground. Under her trainers order, and not exactly fond of this arena herself, Venus closes her eyes. She concentrates for a brief moment, and then suddenly disappears in a flash. High on the roof of the mansion, she flashes back to reality. The emotion pokemon sighs, happy to be outside and enjoying the mild breeze under the moonlit sky. Boo, using his ghostly focus to discern the location of his opponent, is suprised when she is suddenly much further away. He phases back through the floor and keeps rising, phasing through all the floors of the castle until he too reaches the roof. Having used most of the energy that he would have to attack in simply getting to the roof, he decides to not to attack.

The ref pulls out his teleportation device once more, pointing it at each trainer. Each one appears on the roof next to their respective pokemon, and then the ref himself appears on the new battlefield as well. The trainers take a moment to scope out the scenery for the continuing rounds of this battle.

Ah, I see.

Venus, listen closely...

Since you used Shadow Ball last round, I want you use Imprison first, to keep Boo from using it.

(I'd like to add that since Venus is a Psychic type and Shadow Ball is not a Psychic attack, using this move will be easier and less draining.)

Next, use Skill Swap. Try to gain one of his strengths and give him one of your weaknesses.

Finally, hit him with Psychic.

Hatake Kakashi
30th May 2006, 10:25 PM
ACTUALLY the way Imprison works, if it's the Imprisoned Pokemons type it's harder to restrict for very long.

If the attack which is attempted to Imprison is of the victim’s type, the energy required to use Imprison rises significantly, and the attack takes much longer to do.

So Haunter? Let 'er take Shadow Ball! It'll tire her out and give you time to react with a nice hard Shadow Punch.

Then, use Spite so that Skill Swap is that much harder to do!

Finish things off by using Hypnosis when it opens its' mind for Psychic.

*Battle*
On the roof of the haunted mansion, an intense battle rages. The two trainers, each hungry for a win, shout their commands to their respective pokemon. The pokemon nod slightly, still staring at one another.

Venus acts quickly, focusing her psychic powers on Boo. A faint symbol starts to form around his body, creating a strange sensation. Seeing his foe vulnerable, he quickly phases into the ground. He emerges behind the Kirlia a short time later, and pulls his fist back. He thrusts it forward, delivering a punch directly to Venus' head. She maintains her concentration, but is knocked to the ground by the attack. Standing, eyes still glowing, she lets out a final cry as she finishes the mental block. Within Haunters mind, a barrier now surrounds the part of the mind that would control the energy formation of Shadow Ball. Venus smiles to herself.

Now concentrating on her next task, her eyes glow a bright purple color. An aura of the same color begins to form around both Haunter and Venus as she uses her telekinetic powers to alter their traits. Meanwhile, Boo's eyes are also glowing, this his a ghostly navy blue. Unbenownst to Venus, he is placing additional strain on her, making her attack consume an increasing amount of energy. Still, she continues with her order. As the psychic type completes her action, she begins to hover into the air, having gained Boo's natural levitation ability. Boo, on the other hand, seems to have gained more control over his psychic power during the swap. Venus breaths heavily, unusually tired after the swap.

Still floating in the air, she continues her attacks. The Kirlia's eyes glow blue as she hits Boo with a blast of psionic energy. He holds his head and groans as he feels the pain from the attack. Trying to block out the pain, he goes back on the offensive. Utilizing his newfound mastery of psychic power, his eyes glow brightly as he sends waves of hypnotic energy through the air. As Venus is hit by these waves, she feels suddenly drowsy. Though she tries to maintain conciousness, she soon slumps down, resting her tired mind as she falls into slumber. The ghost cackles softly at her.

With Venus taking a nice nap under the moonlit sky, it would seem that Boo may have the upper hand, but only time will tell.

As Venus sleeps soundly under the moonlit sky, Boo eyes her. His eyes glow bright red as he psychically prods her resting mind, though even in resting her mind is quite resistant to such an attack. Accordingly, a faint, red stream of energy begins to flow from her, to the waiting ghost. The energy encircles Haunter's body, giving him a red glow as he continues to drain away the dreams of the unsuspecting Kirlia. Having stolen a signifigant amount, the red energy is absorbed into his body. He smiles as the sleeping psychic continues to lie there.

Feeling especially mischevious now, Boo floats over to the emotions pokemon. He holds out his hand above her as it glows with a black energy, flowing all around her body. As he does this, Kirlia's dream is being overwritten by a traumatic nightmare. She stirs slightly, taken by the nightmare. But not just any nightmare, this particular one will drain away her strength as she sleeps soundly. Careful not to wake her, Boo retreats and chuckles to himself.

As Venus continues to suffer from her dream, Boo watches carefully, seeing if she'll do anything. But she never does, and the ghost takes a break, conserving his energy.

I'm feeling really uncreative today (didn't sleep at all last night for some reason either), so I'm going to hold off till tommorow to ref.

*Battle*
The area under the full moon seems to be the perfect place for a nap, and thats exactly that Kirlia is doing, though she doesn't seem to be enjoying it much. Her trainer shouts to her, issuing her commands despite her sleep, while Kakashi continues to try and keep his opponent in this state.

Hoping to not only deplete the psychic's Health, but her energy as well, Boo holds out his ghostly hand and concentrates. His eyes glow an eerie black as he uses his ghostly power to place strain on Kirlia's body, using his hand as a focus. She stirs in her sleep, still experiencing an unpleasent nightmare, but acting regardless. As she mumbles something nearly inaudible, a flurry of multicolored, slightly glowing leaves made of pure psionic energy begin to form around her. Boo looks on, not exactly sure whats happening... suddenly, the leaves are shot toward the ghost, slashing through his ethereal form. He blinks, not expecting an attack from the sleeping pokemon. Venus struggles a bit, and suddenly her eyes open, having escaped from the nasty dream she was experiencing. She rubs her eyes, still a bit groggy and not all that refreshed from her little nap.

The Haunter frowns as he sees his foe awake, and wastes no time to try and fix that. He looks at the psychic, eyes glimmering with a psychic aura. Familiar with the attack and not quite ready to fall into slumber again, Venus fights the hypnotic waves as sparks dance across her body. With a cry, she launches a series of small electric bolts, each causing a mild shock to the gaseous ghost. The sensation of the shocks throws off Boo's concentration despite his newly discovered psychic prowess, and the waves of sleep inducing power cease. Kirlia does feel a bit drowsy, but not enough to fall into sleep.

His hopes of continuing the fight with a sleeping opponent ruined, Boo phases into the ground. Familiar with this particular attack, Venus starts channeling electricity again, ready to slam the ghost. He emerges from the ground, sending one fist flying forward into Kirlia's side. The emotional pokemon winces briefly, but without hesitation turns toward her foe. As she raises her arms, she sends another array of small electric sparks toward Boo, who recoils as each bit of energy hits him.

Both pokemon look quite annoyed with one another at this point, and they look toward their trainers, each hoping to gain an advantage.

Alright, put her back to sleep with Hypnosis.

If she tries to close her eyes(and if Dark Sage hopes to use Hypnosis on a pro, he's gonna have to keep his open!) then Shadow Punch it until you catch it with its' eyes open. When it's asleep, if there's any time left, give it Nightmares.

Venus, I'm getting sick of this dirty fighting.

Close your eyes, and then Teleport into the Graveyard.

Wait for him there, and just relax while you're doing so. Let him wear himself trying to use Hypnosis and chasing you.

This is going to continue until my opponent decides to play fair.

If his Hypnosis works, by some miracle, just use Sleep Talk until you wake up.

Dark Sage, you did not put Hypnosis as an illegal move. I'm not doing anything dirty, or exploiting and tricks or being "unfair."

Please drop it. You have Hypnosis too.

And sitting around for three turns(Assuming she doesn't open her eyes after Teleport), thanks for the free round I suppose ;)

Your plan is to completely lockdown my whole team with one combo. You're being a poor sport, and I will not keep up this battle if it does not stop.

I got furious at poor sports. It seemed that the first move that everyone would try would be Toxic, followed by Thunder Wave if they could. These people wanted to win these battles at all costs, not caring about who they angered. And it seemed that everyone had their teams loaded with Poison-Types so they'd be immune to retaliation. That's why I will no longer play with anyone who won't disallow these moves.

Sure, this lockdown strategy of yours is your right. And it is my right to forfeit if you keep doing it. Which I will. I'd sooner forfeit two points than allow you to get four for playing dirty. I'll simply find a battle with someone who's a good sport.

The trainers shout the next commands to their pokemon, each appearing to be a bit annoyed with the other. The pokemon nod and face one another once more.

Boo begins the all to familiar attempt at putting his foe into a slumber. His eyes shimmer, while psionic waves pulsate through the air. Venus wants none of it, and she closes her eyes. Using her psychic power, she envisions the graveyard aside the haunted house. With a flash of light, she disappears from the rooftop, reappearing moments later amongst tattered gravestones and the obligatory dead tree. Boo frowns as he cuts off his attack, successfully avoided.

Taking a moment to survey the area, Boo looks for his tricky foe. After hearing the trainer say something about a graveyard, he glances in that direction. He sees his opponent and smiles a he floats off the roof toward her. Meanwhile, she sits on the ground, keeping her energy use to a minimum. As the ghost floats down, the ref teleports the combatants to their pokemon along with himself.

As the ghost reaches her, he notices her eyes are still closed. He shrugs as he sinks beneath the ground, phasing his ghostly form into it without trouble. Unknown to Kirlia, the large ghost emerges from the ground behind her. He pulls back his fist, then sends it flying forward into the psychic's head. She topples to the ground with a grunt, as Boo chuckles mischeviously.

Venus slowly stands up, rubbing her head, she stares toward Boo, who just grins back. This ghost is quite annoying, she thinks to herself. The trainers appear to be in a similar staring contest, as the round closes.

Okay, le's try this one more time.

Venus, first use Psychic.

Then, use Shock Wave

Finsih up with Future Sight.

If he looks like he's going to use Hypnosis again, just close your eyes, and let him tire himself out trying. If he tries to foil this plan by ordering three Hypnosis moves in a row, well, we can go home after this round.

Fine. You wanna throw a fit?

Haunter, Hypnosis x3. I'm not battling someone who's going to be so rude and insult us for using what Ghosts are good at. I'm getting full points from this match anyhow.

Sorry, but I'd like to have a slot open, and I'd rather not waste one with this match.

Thats too bad, but its your right to do so Dark Sage.

Points will be as follows, then....

Hatake Kakashi - 4 points
Dark Sage - 2 points
Elec Man EXE - 4 points

Second pokemon are far enough along to consider it a full battle, with full winnings to boot (I believe only 1 pokemon has to be below 55% for it to count).

Nice reffing for ya both, hopefully any future battles between you won't turn out so bitterly.
