Yes, all you need, is a Ditto (if the Pokemon you want to breed is male, you'll need one; you can get them in Fire Red, Leaf Green and Emerald).

If a Pokemon you wanted to breed is female, you don't necessarily need a Ditto, just find a male Pokemon of yours in the same egg group as the female Pokemon, and they should be able to breed.

Hope that helps you.

FYI, Ditto is found in the Fossil Maniac's house after you beat the E4. Go to his house, go way deep into it, and you'll see an entrance to a cave. You'll find wild Ditto inside the cave, along with some other pokemon (Whismur and Loudred I think). You can also go to the end of the cave and find the other fossil that you didn't choose earlier.

Ditto has no gender, but it can still breed with anything. Even some other genderless pokemon (Magnemite, Voltorb, Lunatone and Solrock)

You'll still get an egg even if it doesn't like your Swampert.

The only time you won't get an egg is if the guy says "The two prefer to play with other pokemon".

It'll take longer than if they liked each other, but you'll get an egg.
