Battle open for ghost types only

1 on 1
I choose first
You attack first
DQ: 5 days
Arena: The haunted house in Lavender Town that Ash went to to find a ghost type pokemon. Inside this haunted mansion, their lies the main hall which is where the battle takes place. The items that may be used in battle include a number of wooden chairs, two wooden tables, an 18th century hand-woven rug, and many pieces of furniture as well as other objects found in such houses... xD The walls of the main hall are indestructable and battlers may not pass into other rooms.

You can add whatever you want to the arena during the battle as long as its something that belongs in such a house...

I'll start with my male Banette, Kelpie.

=) can I get anymore lame?

Sounds fun. I'm up for it. I'll use my recently evolved Haunter (m) Lorefel.

Lorefel, start off with a Haze to mist the room up, then strike out of the darkness with a Shadow Punch. Finish off a Confuse Ray

nice choice =) thx for accepting

ok Kelpie, start by forming a medium Substitute, then when Lorefel attacks the decoy, blast him with a powerful Shadow Ball, if the sub is still up, hit him with a Night Shade, if the sub is gone or the confuse ray is coming at you, use Faint Attack instead.

I usually keep my energy rates low, as I hate energy KO's. If that's a problem, speak now or forever hold your peace.

Razor and Lorefel:
Haze~Shadow Punch~Confuse Ray

Round One, Begin!
"It had to be ghosts, huh?" The site of the battle was Ghost House in Lavender Town- not even the bravest of the brave passed this place at night. So of course, two trainers had to meet here- at midnight, for a ghost exclusive battle. The referee spat bitterly on the ground, a disgruntled expression on his face. "Okay, let's get this going already.Hate ghosts..."

Conspiracy leads off with the commonly seen Banette, by the name of Kelpie. Razor counters with the less common but just as effective Haunter, Lorefel. Both trainers issue their commands calmly, and the battle begins. Lorefel issues a smoky white gas from his mouth- the gas is otherworldly and its origins are questionable...(-4% EN) Nonetheless, the smoke covers the Main Hall, shrouding everyone in smoke. Kelpie isn't too worried- using a mixture of the dead cells that make up her body matter and some random plush, he fashions a Banette doll. (-10% HP, -6% EN) Strangely enough, the doll floats in Kelpie's place- held by ethereal energy. Chuckling, Kelpie backs away a bit from his sub.

Lorefel phases out, the world around him growing dark and murky in this 'other' world. His claw glimmers a dull red, pulsing with otherworldly energy. Slowly, the Haunter makes his way through the smoke- Kelpie doesn't create a shadow in the Haze, but he can search for as long as he needs to. After a few minutes, he spots Kelpie floating above the Hall rug. Sneering, Lorefel draws closer, phasing back into existence and swinging his fist into the Banette doll. A good deal of plush pours out from a hole opened up by the Haunter. (-9% HP, -5% EN) The true Kelpie is unharmed, and aware of the Haunter's attack. Free to prepare, he draws ethereal energy from the air- in a Haunted House, there is plenty to go around. The energy is shaped into a sphere by the Banette's tiny hands, then given an spectral shove. The Shadow Ball flies off into the Haze, exploding on contact with Lorefel's ghostly form. (-9% HP, -5% EN)

Lorefel, a bit put off at how quick the Banette counter-attacked, backs off. He cups his hands together, forming an 0. Within the shape, a shining light grows. It changes shape and form, flashing through all the spectrums of the rainbow. Lorefel pushes it towards the Banette doll, sneering.(-4% EN) Though Kelpie is not the Ray's focus, he can't help but be drawn to the shining light. Er....what was he doing again? With an effort, Kelpie tears his gaze from the light and begins his attack. Her eyes pale, from a dank red to a gray color. At the same time, twin beams of negative energy burst forth from them, aimed at Lorefel. The energy beams pass through Lorefel's form, causing her to shudder as her very life force is drained away. The feeling passes, leaving Lorefel both relieved and shaken. Why aren't his attacks working? (-8% HP, -4% EN)

Alright Kelpie, not bad, let's keep up the good work.

Start by using Calm Mind, then fire off a Shockwave. If Lorefel is in view hit 'em with a Shadow Ball, if not, then use Shockwave again.

RaZoR LeAf

How did the Substitute take 13% (9+4) damage, but Banette only lost 10%? The sub should be the same size as the energy lost by the user, so by those calculations, the sub should have either been 14% (since you say it has 1% remaining) or have been broken by the Shadow Ball.

+conspiracy+
26th August 2006, 05:05 PM
it only took 9 damage

shadow punch was the only damaging attack you used

Ace64
27th August 2006, 01:21 AM
Let me clarify. I'm not sure how you ref Substitute, but the way I do it is based off of health, not energy. Banette lost 10% health to give the Sub life- the energy was used to create the Sub. Shadow Punch did 9% damage. Confuse Ray does not damage it, and though the true Banette was confused, it did not damage its own Sub in any way.

Round Two, Begin!
Kelpie glows hIS red-rimmed eyes, calming her thoughts. He becomes perfectly still, barely moving an inch- though he can't breathe, it's almost as if he can remember his past life...Very relaxing. (-5% EN) He feels better prepared to handle the mental strains of the battle ahead. Just as he opens his eyes, Lorefel releases a negative burst of energy in all directions. The gray rays of energy slice through Kelpie's Sub with ease, and a glancing blow from the rays strikes her in the sides, causing her to wince in pain. (-6% HP, -4% EN)Lorefel's eyes shift from the shattered Banette doll to the true Kelpie without a second thought.

Both ghosts begin to tremble with electrical power. Kelpie, his mind intuned to the elemental energy of the attack, releases his power first in the form of dancing blue sparks. Each bolt finds its mark in Lorefel, jolting his senses with each blast. (-8% HP, -4% EN) The Haunter counters with an even more powerful burst of electricity, well worth the time it took to prepare it. Kelpie grunts in pain, taking the bolt head on. (-9% HP, -5% EN)

Immediately, both Pokemon begin creating their next attack- borrowing their own spectral form to create a sphere of energy. Kelpie, mentally collected, is able to release his Shadow Ball first.(-10% HP, -5% EN) Lorefel rocks with the blow, but barely manages to keep control of his own Shadow Ball. Angrily, he fires his sphere back at the Banette, forcing the smaller Poke a bit backward.(-9% HP, -5% EN) In the wake of these projectile attacks, the Haze along the Main Hall is beginning to lift, bringing the furniture back into focus.

Round Three, Begin!
Lorefel's eyes glimmer a bright white, as he studies his opponent carefully.(-5% EN) His senses heighten to that of Kelpie's instantly. Meanwhile, the Banette is glaring steadily at the Haunter, glowing with a dark aura. A good deal of his energy is sapped away, but in return, he is able to halt Lorefel's next attack. An odd CLICK resonates in Lorefel's mind, causing him to flinch. What just happened here? (-9% EN)

Shaking off the sensation, Lorefel holds up a claw, channeling negative energy to his palm. Oddly enough, though- he can't release the gathered energy. Something is missing- but he can't tell what. As he's pondering the question, Kelpie nails the Haunter in the face with a ball of ghostly power. Lorefel lowers his hands as he recoils in pain- he just can't strike back! (-9% HP, -5% HP)

Annoyed, Lorefel tries other tactics. He fades into the shadow world, watching the color in the physical world around him seep away. A few feet away, Kelpie mimicks his actions, phasing into another dimension. However, his tactic of dodging Lorefel's attack comes to naught- as both attacks require phasing out, they are perfectly capable of interacting with each other in this other world. Lorefel strikes Kelpie first with a red fist of power, boosted by his mental focus.(-10% HP, -5% EN) Kelpie swipes a dark claw through his ethereal body in return. (-10% HP, -6% EN)

Round Four, Begin!
Kelpie grimaces, staring down her opponent. An ethereal glow appears around her, as she begins to make the shift to another plane of existence. She is unaware of Lorefel's watchful eyes and malignant grin. Believing herself to be unobserved, she fades from sight, before drifting over to the Haunter and swiping an invisible claw through his ectoplasmic form. (-9% HP, -6% EN) Lorefel grunts in mingled pain and satisfaction- even through the hurt, he's picked up something new.

Phasing back into existence, Kelpie allows herself a smile, before beginning her new attack. She begins to spark and shimmer, charging her dead cells with slow charging electric currents, which begin to grow in power. Lorefel draws upon his memory, before focusing his energy. His mind is still, and as Kelpie launches the bolt, he seamlessly fades from sight, dodging the bolt entirely. (-6% EN) Invisible, he attacks Kelpie from behind, draining away her ghostly spirit before phasing into the Material Plane. (-10% HP, -6% EN)

Kelpie wheels around to face her foe, hissing in pain and anger. She draws forth a great mass of shadowy energy, forming it into a sphere. Lorefel watches the action with a demonIc smile, his pupils gleaming with a black light.(-4% EN) Suddenly, each bit of energy becomes an effort to call forth- Kelpie's having a hard time gathering her power, like a weight is attached to her mental powers. At last, the Shadow Ball collected, she release it at Lorefel, feeling rather drained. (-9% HP, -8% EN)

Round Five, Begin!
Lorefel's eyes glimmer a bright shade of silver, as he fixes his gaze onto Kelpie. It's rather intimidating and slightly off-putting to say the least.(-4% EN) Kelpie misses the whole thing, however- her eyes are shut tightly as she focuses her mind to a sharpened point. A violet aura surrounds her as her psionic powers are boosted significantly.(-4% EN)

Annoyed, Lorefel holds out a claw. His purple talon begins to fade, before reappearing in a shade of bright green. Cackling, the Haunter rushes towards Kelpie, claw outstretched. Her mind serene, Kelpie releases a surge of lightning quicker than Lorefel expected, sending a burst of electricity through his spiritual form. It can't really push him away, but the shock to his cells is pain enough. (-8% HP, -5% EN) With a cry of glee, Lorefel's hand flicks out, grabbing hold of the Banette's smaller body and seeming to squeeze her ghostly form. Tendrils of emerald energy flow from her form into Lorefel's open palm, replenishing the Haunter somewhat. (-8% HP, -5% EN, +4 HP) Satisfied, Lorefel releases Kelpie, his hand returning to its usual color.

Kelpie, perhaps feeling a bit exhausted after that draining attack, decides to float and do nothing. Relax, I think it's called.(+8% EN) Taking advantage of the opportunity, Lorefel strikes the Banette with a fist covered in ethereal energy, tearing away Banette's form. With an effort, Kelpie reforms her body, wincing in pain. (-9% HP, -5% EN)
