Dear Lady G

I WANT TO LAY THE SMACKDOWN ON YOU!

Pls accept!

Love, Andrew.

Ps - You choose the amount of Pokemon and Arena :)

I'm in 2 battles already! And with a ref shortage, this could take months. I will accept, but only if you're willing to have a 1-on-1 battle against my... Dratini!

No evolved pokemon, please, and you attack first. The arena? A set of small grassy islands in a large lake. The islands have a few bushes, but nothing particularly dangerous. They're big enough for a few pokemon to move about freely, but not to hide or get lost. The water is clear enough to see the shapes of any pokemon below. The battle starts out on one of the islands, but the whole lake can be used.

I shall judge this match!

That is if either of you mind.. <-<U

I certainly don't mind. I don't know about Andrew. After all, he has a... strange attitude towards Dratinis, to say the least.

Andrew

Okay! I choose my Female Corsola - CorsolOz for this battle! She's a great Pokmeon! Start off by using an Icicle Spear CorsolOz! Follow up and try to beach that lizard with Surf and finish off by using a Spike Cannon!

Thanks for the quick reffing!

Oh, Mist, my Dratini, is female too.

Alright, Mist, use Reflect first, then wait for the Surf and return it with a Surf of your own, and finally shoot a Thunderbolt at CorsolOz.

The battle starts out on one of the islands, but the whole lake can be used.

Ready! FIGHT!

The match is underway as the two competitors stand warily on unstable mounds of dirt in the middle of a large lake. However, the Judge is standing on the bow of a pirate ship. How the ship got into a lake is no one’s real concern…

Mist, the small cute little wyrm, closes her eyes and sets up a nice Reflection barrier of an orange color. The Dragon then looks smug behind her little dome structure, safe from any attack.

Almost.

CorsolOz, named like the rest of Andrew’s Team with a mention of the faraway land with scarecrows, tin men, flying monkeys, and lions, gathers energy around her spikes. The ball of blue energy condenses rapidly and then expands as a barrage of three large icicles blast out towards the domed Dratini. The dome seems to hold up as the icicles collide with the barrier, experiencing a sudden drop in velocity. As the chunks of ice start to experience Gravities pull once again, they fall, however they still have forward momentum. The first one crashes, shattering into a clump of ice, the second collides with the first, but retaining most of it’s cone-shape. Finally the third hits the first two and causes a piece to shatter off of the second cone, sending it blasting forward towards Mist.

The piece collides, hitting the Dragon and causing a slight scratch. Not quite breaking the skin, but at least not as much damage that could have been done and the Reflect drops

CorsolOz, seeing an advantage, unleashes her next attack. The water on one half of the lake recedes and then starts to come rushing in as a large wave. Mist, seeing this concentrates, and the rest of the lake is washed away, leaving the Judge beached on the murky bottom.

Two tsunamis start to head towards each other, aiming for the other Pokémon. The judge gets a small umbrella Willie Coyote-style and opens it as he’s overshadowed by the waves.

They collide, water refilling the lake and causing the water to become turbid. Sediments and what was left of the islands in the center are now barely clumps of mud that are several yards away. One things for sure… there is still one mass of stable land in the arena, and the other stable masses are boulders uplifted from the deeper parts of the lake.

Both combatants are nowhere to be found as they probably got rushed away by the thousands of gallons of water that got dumped on their heads.

The two Pokémon swim back towards their trainers knowing that they still have a fight to contest. As they swim back, CorsolOz spots Mist behind a cloud of floating sediment.

She charges up her spikes, ready to unleash a volley of tiny spikes at the Dragon. Her horns glow and then tilt and aim at Mist. The barrage is underway and connects with the Dragon’s hide, sending her floating away. However the worst of the barrage missed due to the low visibility underwater at the moment.

Mist, now knowing where her opponent is, charges up as electric sparks dance up and down her body. As she withers around she unleashes the Thunderbolt as a straight attack, connecting with the Corsola and jolting her system. CorsolOz trying to swim, starts to sink like a lead weight as her muscles spasm and lock up on her, a side effect of the Thunderbolts paralysis.

When last we left our intrepid battlers….

A massive tsunami, ensued by both CorsolOz and Mist, ended up sinking the Judges boat.. (which more than likely lead to his current two-week-long sickness). But I digress. CorsolOz is stricken with paralysis, and Mist is ready to continue the Assault.

Ready! FIGHT!

CorsolOz closes her eyes, and her outer skin starts to glow. Mist, seeing that her target is being a nice sessile little Pokémon, concentrates. Water around Mist starts to condense into a giant ball. Shouting out, the Dragon Pokémon launches the sphere of water (oddly enough INSIDE water… don’t ask me how the physics works here…) towards the sitting-duc- Eh- I mean Pokémon.

CorsolOz’s world is rocked as she’s blasted away by the water attack. While she was on the bottom of the lake, the Water Pulse knocked her up, and threw her back, spinning head over… stumps... things. As the silt settles, flecks of her outer shell have fallen off, mostly blasted off by Mist’s attack.

The good news, is that CorsolOz is now 100% Paralysis-free, and ready to get back in there. The bad news, is that Mist is charging up a Thunderbolt.

As the Dragon charges the electrons in the water, CorsolOz begins to gain some-kind of reflective sheen. Mist unleashes the Thunderbolt, the water’s conductivity providing one very fast circuit between the Dragon, and the Rock/Water-type.

Charged electrons hit CorsolOz and the yellow cackling energy swirl around her. The electric attack bounds around her outer-skin before it’s shot right back at Mist, the Dragon staring in confusion before twitching as electricity courses through her system. (Roll…. 89… Ouch)

Now… the little Dragon is paralyzed. Her body spasms as the electricity from her own attack causes her muscles to lock up.

Mist tries to launch an attack once again, but her muscles lock up on her, causing her to start sinking down to the bottom of the lake, as CorsolOz prepared for another onslaught that never came.

Round 2! Post-Round Stats

Ref Notes:
Rolled Percentiles for Thunderbolt’s Paralysis Effect. Rolled 89. Rolled to attack, 51-99 meant that Mist could attack. Rolled 11.

Andrew Attacks first.

Thanks for the comment LV, I have been feeling a bit better. Now if only my voice could come back and my throat was fixed.

Later!

And once again… sorry about the…. Extended Reffing time @_#

EDIT: You are correct... Edited for Ref-inconsistancy.

Lady Vulpix
24th February 2007, 10:02 AM
Hmm... this isn't looking good for Mist. It's Andrew's turn, isn't it?

Mew Master

Yes it is. I edited the Post Round stats because AOz was right about it... so yeah. AndOz's turn.

Andrew

Okay CorsolOz! Follow up with an Ice Beam to freeze that stupid Lizard, follow up with a Surf to hopefully beach it and leap into the air above it and fire down a spike cannon!

May I have a few more days to reply, please? I'm afraid I'm quite busy. :\

Mew Master
14th March 2007, 01:43 PM
I have no problem with it if Andrew doesn't.

Lady Vulpix
19th March 2007, 08:29 AM
Sorry, being busy has long since become my status quo, but these days it's become even worse. I'm afraid I can't handle 4 battles at this time, so I'm going to forfeit this one. Sorry, Andrew. Maybe another time. If you want to go and brag about how you defeated me, go ahead. I don't care.

Andrew
20th March 2007, 05:45 AM
No, you can't forfeit!

You have to at least get to half-way health! Or else I get nothing!

Besides, it's not really hard to post 3 attacks...

Lady Vulpix
20th March 2007, 08:57 AM
Yes, it is... when you have 2 demanding jobs and are relatively new to ASB and are having 3 other battles and had a dog who died in late January and one who died last night. It's too much for me to handle and I need to drop something. Sorry. You were never nice to me anyway, so I don't owe you any favors.

Mew Master
20th March 2007, 02:21 PM
Now now now. Lady Vulpix has made her choice. I won't have a war erupt under my watch.

It is decided. This match goes to Andrew due to forefit.

I hope you have free time on your hands at a later point LV, lets just not resort to bringing Real world stress into this ^^U

Andrew
20th March 2007, 05:36 PM
I'm busy too, working full time work, going to uni full time and at the moment I'm sick. But I try to make time. If you can't, maybe you should leave TPM.

I'm sorry about your dogs.

Still, you were always *Insert your own insults*

PS - Mew Master, neither you or I get anything from this battle then.

Mew Master
20th March 2007, 08:59 PM
Eh... I get experience at Reffing..

*FF7 Victory music plays*

Mew Master has leveled up to.... Barely Tollerable. -.-U

Lady Vulpix
21st March 2007, 07:34 AM
You were good, Mew Master. Thanks for reffing.

As for TPM, I intend to stay, thanks all the same.

Chris 2.1
21st March 2007, 11:02 AM
Andrew I don't particularly appreciate your attitude towards Gabi. She obviously has things she needs to take care of and, as you will have seen, we are supportive of people that need to lessen the load here to help with stuff outside. I pity the person who prioritises TPM and ASB before their personal and professional lives.

So cool it. Mew Master, I oversaw your reffing/s and they were pretty good, so you gained something from this :D. Gabi, all the best. I know you're still around but all the same.

Mew Master

Wow... I got complimented... that's a first.
