I'll volunteer to... oh, wait. I'm battling. Still hasn't quite sunk in  . Must breathe...

And yep, this'll be our first battle. Should be one heck of a fight, I look forward to it. Good luck to you as well.

No status effects, well that saves me from my most hated adversary (Toxic), so thats good. That counts allstatus effects, including confusion/attraction and the like, yes?

Double STAB'd weaknesses, you evil, evil man.

Meh, no matter. Ok Arsael, lets show him you're not going to go down easily. First off, rush over and Wrap yourself around that floating thing. Lets see an Earthquake hit you then. Keep yourself wrapped for the rest of the round if possible, and since it won't be moving too much that shouldn't be too difficult. Then Screech right into its... uh, ears. And finally, sink your fangs into its head, Crunch. I suspect any sort of psychic ability will be hard to muster while enduring both the effects of Screech and fangs seeping with darkness.

~Round 1 Begin!~

With the last round of the illustrous grand festival finally underway -- as it's been going for what's seemed light months -- it's down to the last two competitors: Chris 2.0 and Elec Man.EXE. Elec Man is first to release his competitor: a female Seviper. Upon release, she gazes upon the grass covered arena with interest, while Chris 2.0 lets loose a much bigger, more intimidating opponent, quite befitting of the name "three-eyes". Elec Man shoots Chris 2.0 a glare at the obvious weakness that Chris is trying to expose, while Arsael looks up at the giant floating mass, wary but determined.

As soon as the round starts, she books it towards the Claydol, of whom is but feet away from her, using her elongated body to Wrap around one of the Claydol's arms as it rises slowly, forbodingly into the air, before dropping down like a giant, brown wreacking ball. The earth below the two of them shakes and tremors at the impact, making giant furrows of torn earth present all around the vicinity. Both pokémon, however, are unharmed.

Arsael, now quite determined to hang on for dear life after watching the destructive power of the Earthquake, tightens her hold around Terrapupa's arm, taking in a deep, hissing breath, before letting loose a glass-breaking screech. While Terrapupa might not have any visable ears, the Screech takes its toll, making it cringe, as it has no ears to cover to block out the noise, while making its brain spazz. Still, despite the disconcerting noise, the great relic lifts its arms and summons up Ancient Power. Rocks spurt up from the ground erratically like spires, but miss their target, of whom is still grimly hanging on to the Claydol's arm.

Once the flying rocks subside, Arsael opens her mouth, grimacing at the rocky look of the skin she's about to sink her dark-induced fangs into. She slowly moves up the Claydol's arms towards the head, feeling more than a bit unnerved as she comes face to face with one of the thing's eyes. Inwardly, Arsael hopes the its head isn't made as tough as the rest of the body looks to be. Grimacing for a moment, filled with a unnatural amount of dread, she shakes her head once to clear her mind before unhinging her jaws and biting down. Hard, just as a Psychic assault rattles her body, making her feel a bit light headed.

Her pointed fangs meet hard rock body, and tears well at the corners of her eyes in an animé-esque fashion, as they are unable to penetrate the surface of the thing's skin that much; however, the dark-type power leaking through her fangs does, causing the Claydol to groan in pain, irritated and not so much distracted, though it does cut off the Psychic a tad prematurely. But the Psychic hurts enough anyways - like being hit in the head with an acid-filled glass bottle.

Getting started, yay. Thanks Saffire.

Ack, sorry Arsael, didn't realize those things were so hard. But it's defense is down and its a prime target for some major offense, lets do it Arsael.

The strategy is simple but, hopefully, effective. Fury Cutter like a psychopath, abusing its Psychic type weakness. If you can do it and still keep a grip, then do it. Just keep slashing away, and hopefully you can inflict some major pain. However, if it tries to raise its defense (Cosmic Power or Reflect) then Snatch it away and then continue your assault. If it manages to move someplace you can't possibly reach, then switch to Flamethrower.

~Round 2 Begin!~

Hanging onto the Claydol's unattached arm, Arsael precedes to follow her trainer's orders and "Fury Cutter like a psychopath". Lifting her head, begins to rapidly slash the air, forming strange scythes of green colored energy. The hyper cutters scratch against Terrapupa's hard skin, having no obvious outside effect, but the Claydol itself does seem to feel uncomfortable from the strikes that continue to increase in desperate frenzy.

Then, Terra begins to turn to help combat the rapid strikes that continue to hit at light-speed. With each turn of its massive body, the speed becomes faster and faster, and Arsael's furious melee is soon effected, as the laws of physics kick in as the spins become faster. Everything around her is a blur, and Arsael feels herself being forcefully pulled off Terrapupa's arm, her Fury Cutter rampage cut short. It takes a few seconds, but Arsael is eventually flung off, skidding along the grasses as the Claydol slows to a complete stop.

Both opponents are a bit dizzy from the maneuver, nevertheless, Arsael manages to recover first, releasing a stream of flame from her open jaws. The Claydol, meanwhile, begins to tap in to its Psychic abilities, smashing the snake into the ground, though the damage is light.

Arsael watches in horror as Claydol psychically lifts itself into the air. Knowing exactly what she's up to, Arsael struggles to open her jaw at the Psychic force, breathing out another stream of flames from her smashed place in the grass. The Flamethrower scathes the Claydol's skin, but it seems to ignore the flame attack entirely, dropping to the ground. Again, the earth tremors and quakes, sending long furrows of earthly destruction in every direction.

Needless to say, Arsael isn't pleased.

Good work Terra. We need to keep it up. Use psychic, followed by an earthquake and finish with Psybeam. If Seviper tries attaching itself onto you (giga drain, bite, crunch, wrap etc) then use rapid spin to hurl her off. If she uses fury cutter, use psychic to grab her as she comes towards you and hurl her away. If she uses double team, use earthquake to eliminate her.

Elec Man EXE
30th April 2007, 02:40 PM
Alrighty Arsael. Start off by using Giga Drain. It'll counter with Rapid Spin, but thats much better than taking another Psychic, and you should be able to draw some energy before it flings you off. Then another Giga Drain, same as before. Better a spin than a quake. And finally, harden your tail with Iron Tail and use your steel-enhanced appendage to cut through the psychic beam and hit Terrapupa hard. Steel being resistant to psychic, you might lessen the damage that you take, but at the very least the attack will hurt him quite a bit with his weakened defense.

Breathing a sigh of relief, Arasael rises onto her belly, hissing as she commences to slither at top speed towards Terrapupa, her fangs surrounded in a greenish glow. The Claydol, recognizing the attack for what it is, inwardly narrows its eyes, waiting for the snake to spring at her so she can fling the annoying serpentine being off--and, a moment later, Arsael does just that.

With a loud cry, she does her beast to leap towards on of the Claydol's legs, sinking her grass-imbued fangs into the the odd being's body. This time, they penetrate somewhat, due to the lowered defense and the grass-type aura surrounding the snake's fangs, greedily drawing away Terra's lifeforce.

It takes only a few moments for the giant alien-like being to begin to spin about rapidly, and Arasael immediately begins to feel the tugging force that's conspiring against her, in order to fling her off. Unlike last time, this happens fairly quickly, sending the Seviper into a pile of grass and rocks.

Terra slows to a stop, and Arsael, dizzy but determined, lunges again. Her fangs bury deep into about the same location as before, and she tries to bury her fangs in deeper, to better suck away the life energy that resides within her strange foe. But again, it's not to be. Seconds into her drainage, Terra begins to spin around in a perfect, geometrical circle once more. The force of the spin proves too much, and much to Arsael's regret, she's flung off, her belly stinging as she slides across the dirt, extremely dizzy.

Its leg stinging from the snake's penetrating fangs, Terra's eyes flash purple for a single moment, before the large, round eyes send a brilliant rainbow beam of Psychic energy at its target.

Trying to throw off her dizziness, Arasael tries to raise her head, her blade-tail solidifying into a hardened metal with a sleek sheen. Throwing it out in front of her, she finds it quite hard to defend and "cut through" the beam at the same time. The blade tail in front of her parts the Psybeam attack, splitting it neatly in half while the rainbow energy flits about the arena. The majority does strike Arasael in some way, but a small portion of energy is reflected off or lessened by Seviper's iron-coated tail.

The beam spatters to a stop. Arasael seizes her chance, swinging her tail forward, slicing across Terra's hardened skin with a vengeance, leaving a small, superficial gash on the side of one of Terra's legs. Arasael then begins to realize that the dizziness and light-headedness she was feeling hasn't yet gone away - in fact, it seems to be a little worse.

Awesome job Arsael, you're doing very well against this tough opponent.

Lets keep it up. I want you to start off by smacking that doll with a powerful Night Slash. Then, create yourself a Substitute of moderate strength. Strong enough to endure one powerful attack (Psychic/Earthquake) and still hold together, if possible. And finally, lash out with an X-Scissor. If it tries to go airborne and get out of your reach, unleash a Dark Pulse.

~Round 4 Begin!~

With another round of experience under each of the battlers' metaphorical belts, Arasael's tail begins to take on a darkened hue while her mind swims, suffering from alight dose of confusion. The status effect's not enough to halt her attack, and Seviper swings her tail towards the great behemoth in front of her. Slightly confused or not, her opponent is rather hard to miss, being a giant... statue...thing. The obsidian-colored Night Slash strikes the Claydol's hard skin, leaving a mark while Terra grunts in pain. Then, Arasael yelps as she's suddenly lifted upwards and wrapped securely around Terra's arm like a wet towel--which Arsael does not appreciate in the least.

Her dizziness still plaguing her, Arasael starts to notice that Terra is glowing a very strange sort of white. A bad sort of white.... a blinding sort of white. Not good. Hissing at her captor, Arasael struggles a bit as she taps into her inner energy reserves. The Psychic may be stopping her physically, but not mentally. So, through her mental abilities, Arasael is soon able to make a clone to "take" her place and perhaps buffer the blow. This is unbeknownst to Terra, however, who's rather oblivious to the going ons of its serpentine opponent, and more focused on exploding and causing havoc...which it does, roughly three seconds later.

The blast is absolutely massive, creating a veritable mini-crater as the harsh, burning energy rushes over everything in the vicinity, vaporizing grass and some small rocks in its path-- not to mention Arasael's hastily put-together substitute... which quickly dissolves to a nice pile of black ash. The real Seviper, meanwhile, is still alive, but to say that she's completely unharmed would be too much to wish for. The Explosion had gotten her too. She escaped the core of it--her unfortunate double had seen to that - but the blast had still been powerful, and had eventually hit both the real and fake Arasael with its destructive energy.

Terra, meanwhile, has completely exhausted its health reserves, and now is little more than a large statue sticking in the ground like some monstrous monument.

With a huge crater having now taken a very large chunk out of the battlefield, Chris returns his fainted Claydol, whipping its pokéball back to his belt with a word of thanks, before tossing out yet another Pokémon to combat their serpentine foe. From amist the surge of erupting white, a large, silver behemouth appears, roaring in challange and stomping the ground. The Aggron, Daedalus, smirks as he beholds his puny competition, quite confident he can knock Arasael out in a quick and timely manner.

Arasael, somewhat duanted by the large, silver ramming machine in front of her, decides to follow her trainers orders, and do what she never herself would decide to do: Taunt the Aggron. Making eye contact, Arasael begins to unleash a slew of bad-mannered talk and language, telling the Aggron in plain Pokemonese, that he is nothing more than a heap of rusted scrap metal, and that if he wants to talk the talk, he better walk the walk -- and with a very angry roar, Daedalus does just that.

The ground ripples with pent up pressure and power, the crater becoming riddled with thick lines of jutting earth and grass. Arasael screeches, staying put as the earth rocks around her, pounding and pushing her long body every which-way, as if she were on a boat. Thirty seconds afterwards, the quake stops, and Daedalus grins widely.

Arasael merely grins somewhat dizzily back, before slamming her own head into the turf, creating a series of tectonic vibrations. Aggron in his panic, tries to summon up a shield to protect himself against the raging earth, but he finds that he cannot, and panics, anger pushing its way to the top as he tries to charge forward - but the moving earth makes such moments from a bulky creature rather impossible, and he collapses onto all-fours until the attack ceases.

Rising from the thick amount of dust, earth, and grass that's now clouded into the air in a thin haze, Daedalus roars, his mouth full of a draconic-energy, which he sends blasting in the direction where Arasael was a moment before, hoping to catch her off guard; however, his attack hits nothing but dirt, leaving a long furrow mark in the terrain from the impact. Down about three feet is Arasael, positively grateful she avoided the attack. There, she waits for more orders.

Arsael, knowing very well how much damage an Earthquake to do to her in her present state, does indeed make haste towards the entrance of the tunnel, instead of digging another way out. Using her tail, now coated in a dull silver sheen, she attempts to - well - fling herself out using it. Using her tail to try and anchor her body into the earth, she tries to do just that. The method does clear a few feet, but doesn't have the "flinging" effect she was hoping for, and merely just mini-catapults her in the wall of the hole she dug. Whether it saves her effort or no could be debated, but with her face now stinging with humiliation - secret as it might be - she settles for scrambling out of the hole the only way a snake can, her combo not so much a combo anymore, now more or less a separate occurrence.

What she finds upon exiting her little tunnel, is a very angry Aggron, who seems to be ignoring his trainer's orders entirely, still seeming to be affected by Arsael's harsh words. He seems to have been charging angrily around the arena, waiting for her to resurface. His eyes gleam with a dark light as he spots her, and with an earth-shattering roar, he charges like a gleaming silver bullet from a cannon.

Arsael hisses, trying to intimidate the approaching behemoth as she raises her tail to summon up another Earthquake. Just as her tail slams into the ground, Daedalus slams into her as well, mowing her over as he plows across the earth, accidentally running head first into a jutting shard of ground as the earth begins to quake violently, ripping new tears into the already massacred terrain. As Daedalus is not able to summon up a protective shield - he's too miffed for that, though the effects are obviously wearing off - he instead tries to turn around and mow over Arsael again, but fails to get much of anywhere thanks to the Earthquake and "Dysfunctional" ground layout that's making it hard for such a big beast such as him to move around with any sort of elegance (if Aggron has any of that at tall).

Once the Earthquake stops, Aggron slams his large foot into the ground just as a spiraling wave of flame washes over his metallic coat. The ground quakes, and the flames abruptly stop as Arsael's shaken and stirred as the tectonic waves continue to change the Grand Festival's battling ground. it finally stops, and both opponents are are breathing hard, with the Seviper on her last legs -- and the ground looks that way as well, broken and destroyed like an Atom Bomb zone.

You've done excellently Arsael. It seems you'll be bowing out soon, but lets leave that thing with a final parting gift.

Use one final Flamethrower. Its fairly likely you'll exaust all your remaining energy with it, but if you don't, then try and catch him with Rock Smash before you go down.

Arsael, feeling her energy wane more by the second, inhales air as she fuels her inner flame, knowing it might very well be her last and final strike - so might as well make it count. She takes careful aim at the Aggron, deadly fire surging out of her gaping maw and over his metallic skin. Arasael hisses as the flames flicker out and die, black dots swimming in front of her eyes, until they encompass the entirety of her vision, and she fades deep into unconsciousness, the Shockwave doing nothing to rouse her.

Excellent job Arsael, you fought brilliantly and you certainly deserve a rest now. Return.

Hoo boy... fighting something with such a mammoth moveset is going to be tough. But I think Celeste (female Hypno) can handle the challenge.

Celeste, lets not delay. Start by raising a Reflective barrier to help guard you. Then smash that tank with a Focus Blast. Act quickly and follow up with a Thunderpunch. If he tries to protect himself with clones, use a Psywave to shatter the illusions.

~Round 8 Begin!~

With Arasael fallen, Elec Man quickly recalls his fallen Pokémon into her pokéball, mumbling some type of thanks as he quickly scans his eyes down the row of pokéballs at his belt, choosing one, and flinging it onto the torn up turf. The ball cracks open, bursting with the all-too familiar light. As the white light fades, it reveals the once hidden silhouette to be a female Hypno, pendulum swaying back and forth, despite the fact there are no signs of movement, nor is there any wind.

Blinking at his new quarry, Daedalus stamps his feet and bellows in challenge as a horde of silver swords appear out of thin air, misty and with little substance. They float in a ghostly ring around the Aggron, spinning as if in some sort of dance, before turning their pointed edges inward, stabbing the Aggron before disappearing, imbuing him with an extra burst of adrenaline and strength. Against the show of power, Celeste does nothing. Instead, she hones her focus, tempering her mind as she conjures up a pale lavender-pink shield.

With her defenses now set up and secure, the Hypno tightens her focus even more, a strange, brilliant white chi forming a nimbus around her fist, heightening in intensity as the moments pass, and her concentration remains unbroken and undaunted. Daedalus is rather startled by the whole event, wondering vaguely what a tiny little fist could do against a steel-enforced monster such as him, but nevertheless, he heeds his trainers orders and surrounds himself with an impenetrable white shield--and just in time. With her energy and focus at its height, Celeste has no other reason to hold her attack back any longer, and releases it in a wave of raw energy. The attack slams against the shield, causing it to sizzle and spark from the immense power of the focus blast; however, the Protect reigns supreme, and nullifies the attack before it can even so much as tough the surprised Aggron inside.

Miffed that her blast did not work, Celeste's fist once again becomes home to another energy, this time with the golden hue of electric power. As this move requires movement to strike, she runs across the ground, shield securely fixed in front of her, in case of a head-on collision of some sort. Aggron, however, has different plans. Out of his steel maw, he releases a chilling void of dark, pulsing energy that completely bypasses the shield, and strikes Celeste directly. She winces in pain, but keeps moving onward, finally slamming her electrified fist into the Aggron's midsection, wincing as her hand clangs against pure metal, abruptly pulling back from the strike.

~Round 9 Begin!~

A beam of dark matter penetrates the Hypno's Reflect shield, hitting her in the face as Celeste continues to mediate and focus her mind, raising her spiritual powers of attack and defense. She ignores the eerie cold of the Dark Pulse, and continues to sit, indian-style, on the tournament field, oblivious to every possible distraction.

With her meditation now over, with Celeste now feeling a definite sense of spiritual enlightenment, the humanoid stands up, slightly hunched over as her pendulum sways. She carefully stares as the Aggron before her for a moment, of whom is now covered with a multitude of yellow sparks. Deciding she now knows how to anger the beast, she does so with a slew of insults and derogatory remarks--some that you definitely wouldn't expect from a pokemon with such a calm nature.

Daedalus bristles in anger, lowering his head and roaring at the obstinate Psychic-twat, the Taunt bewitching his mind and making him very, very angry. A shower of homing electrical sparks are the steel-types response to Celeste's mouthy jibes, and she winces slightly in pain from the attack, but regains mental composure in a fraction of a instant.

Still angry, and now very much seeing read, Daedalus is very much aware the Hypno is now racing along the broken ground towards him, leaping and jumping whenever necessary to clear the earthy obstacles. He knows he should probably be defending from the deadly amount of chi beginning to surround Celeste's fist, but all he can really think about is pounding her into the ground and making her into a throw rug. And considering she's racing towards him, the eight-hundred pound steel behemoth decides to do the same, clearing the turf with all the power of a large truck.

Celeste's outstretched fist lets loose a beam of concentrated chi energy that collides with Daedalus' silver exterior, striking him in the abdomen, and slowing the speeding beast down for a few seconds as he growls in pain. But even that powerful, painful blow is not enough to stop the Aggron, as adrenaline is running through his veins like fire, and even a massive amount of pain is not enough to stop him in his blind rage, and he ends up mowing over her like a car would a deer, the Reflect buffering a bit of his anger-induced attack.

Unlike the deer, however, Celeste manages to pick herself up, massaging her heavily bruised chest and groaning.

Ok I've debated this in my head and I think it's best that we cut it short. It's gone on a year and Elec is going to be a while.

So I officially call the Grand Festival 2006 a tiebreaker. We'll split the prize (5 points each) and each get a trophy sprite.

Saff since you reffed over half of a 3-3 you get 2 points.

Umm. *updates the Information Center*
