There's no way D/P could've sold 70 million. They've only been out since September.

Nope. According to Wikipedia, the games have only made combined sales of 4.84 million in Japan.

While 70 million is inflated, I do think the number has grown from 4.84 million. If you check Wikipedia's reference for that statistic, it was retrieved on January 1. That means that they sold 4.84 copies last year alone, but it doesn't factor in how many have been sold in the first two-and-a-half months of this year.

EDIT: Januray is too a month! *whines*

Well, the lady might've meant 7 million. Oh well, she messed up I guess.

70 million what? Units? Dollars, Yen? Wikipedia now says they sold 5 million by the end of the year, which would result in sales of $70,000,000 if each unit sold for somewhere between $20 and $25.
...granted, that's not a terribly likely price. Also, in Japan they use yen, but Ľ25 per unit is impossibly absurd as that's less than one dollar.

Yeah I mean I thought at first that the lady was joking, but um I don't know now. I hope that Diamond or Pearl will sell well in the US. And I think she meant money. I'm not sure as me and my friend didn't ask what she meant by it sorry.

Maybe when they said 70 million they meant all pokemon games put together?
