I like the original the best, but the advanced battle one is also pretty good. I think the orange islands one is godawful.

They are almost all laughably bad. D&P gets credit though for me turning it off early.

Johto 1 gets credit for the chorus not being an overly serious piece of ass. Seriously, it's a fucking kids show. Let's can the dramatics.

The openings suck, and we all know the ending was the true part of tune in to. PokeRap. POKERAP.

For the TV themes, I'm split between the first and second seasons. The movie award, however, goes to the second theme. Even though the first utterly rocked when you heard the "new and improved" version (why don't they do that any more?), I have to give a slight edge to the second movie.

I prefer the Season 1 original. It's the one I knew first and it's those episodes I started to enjoy Pokémon with. So out of sentimental reasons if you like, I'll pick that one. I can only really judge from the German versions of the songs and have to say those of later episodes (starting Johto) were totally annoying.

English: the movie version of the first intro

Japanese: the 4th intro, a version of Mezase Pokémon Masutaa, but I also liked OK! and Ready Go!

Finnish: Indigo League intro

Swedish: Johto Journeys intro

Note that there's no Orange League intro here in Finland!

Hm, I must correct. There's the intro from the 2nd movie also here, and its lyrics I found quite good!

My favourite is still the first opening. It still have the kicks compared to most of the songs compared to the rest. Orange Island one is quite nice but still it loses out to Johto's first opening IMO.

And and yes I agreed with midnightangel totally, the English version for Diamond/ Pearl creeps me out. Japanese version is way better.

Despite the fact I lost interest post-Bug Gym I think the first Johto opening was the best. It was just so up-tempo and lively...and cheesy too of course lol. But it had a bit of originality to it, unlike a lot of the later ones
