Your friend code does not change unless your Pokemon cartridge and DS change. It is assigned to the combination of the two devices rather than to any particular internet connection.

Speaking of connections, maybe someday I'll be able to get my DS hooked up with the campus internet... sometimes I hate how convoluted the system is.

Can anybody explain to me how the WEP thing works? I have a Mac (along with Airport Extreme) so I'm trying to figure out how to use the WFC without disabling my security. Thanks!

Airport Extreme Info (http://www.nintendo.com/consumer/wfc/en_na/ds/routers/Apple/Airport_Extreme/index.jsp)

To find your WEP password, go into the "Airport" section and select "Change Wireless Security." You shouldn't have to actually change it, but it will show your WEP code.

When you set up your DS to work with the network, you'll be asked if you have a WEP code to access the network. Enter it there. Otherwise, you should be set!

I've tried doing that Pika, but unfortunately when I change it to WEP, it asks me to enter a new password, and the characters don't show up, just the "dots" that hide the password. I have no idea how to change that :(

You mean the characters don't show up in the dialog box, or they don't even show up on the virtual keyboard?

If it's the former, you can just look at how many asterisks have been entered to see where you are. If it's the latter... uh...

If the dialog box is the one where when you type and the "asteriks" appear, then yeah, but the thing is that I think WEP changes my password to like a number or a series of characters that I can't figure out what they are

I'm... not sure what you're looking at, then. If you go through Manual Setup and choose to edit the WEP key, there should be a keyboard at the bottom of the touch screen. You just select each letter/number, and it appears in the boxes at the top.

In your Pal Pad. You get it early on in the game from someone at the second or third Pokemon Center you go to... I think it's the Center in the town that the first Gym is in, actually.
