View Full Version : CuleX VS. Vermilion (Ref: The Arbiter [DUN-DUN-DUNNN...])

Blademaster
31st May 2007, 12:03 AM
It's about time for me to issue another open challenge that's gonna last for about a week before it dies... Let's see what's on tap this time...

Here's the rules:

Number: 2 on 2, 1 Pokemon at a time
Order: The ref decides who sends out first.
DQ: 6 days
Banned moves: None on my part
Location: The Colloseum of Legends

The Colloseum of Legends is a massive, circular chamber with walls, floors, and ceilings made of pure white marble. The only means of ventilation here are a few arched windows, so weather attacks and land-based attacks such as Dig and Earthquake have no effect here.

Surrounding the room are 34 statues depicting the Legendary Pokemon: Articuno, Zapdos, Moltres, Mewtwo, Mew, Raikou, Entei, Suicune, Lugia, Ho-Oh, Celebi, Regirock, Regice, Registeel, Latios, Latias, Kyogre, Groudon, Rayquaza, Jirachi, Deoxys, Uxie, Mesprit, Azelf, Dialga, Palkia, Giratina, Heatran, Regigigas, Cresselia, Manaphy, Darkrai, Shaymin, and Arceus.

These statues bear the energies of the Legendaries themselves and will grant a Legendary Pokemon's power to any Pokemon in the arena that matches its type. The type match-ups are as follows:

1. Normal Pokemon gain Arceus' Judgment attack.
2. Fire Pokemon gain Ho-Oh's Sacred Fire attack.
3. Water Pokemon gain Kyogre's Water Spout attack.
4. Electric Pokemon gain Latios' Luster Purge attack.
5. Grass Pokemon gain Shaymin's Seed Flare attack.
6. Ice Pokemon gain Latias' Mist Ball attack.
7. Fighting Pokemon gain Regirock's/Regice's/Registeel's Superpower attack.
8. Psychic Pokemon gain Deoxys' Psycho Boost attack.
9. Rock Pokemon gain Heatran's Magma Storm attack.
10. Poison Pokemon gain Jirachi's Doom Desire attack.
11. Ground Pokemon gain Groudon's Eruption attack.
12. Bug Pokemon gain Regigigas' Crush Claw attack.
13. Flying Pokemon gain Lugia's Aeroblast attack.
14. Ghost Pokemon gain Giratina's Shadow Force attack.
15. Dragon Pokemon gain Dialga's Roar of Time attack.
16. Dark Pokemon gain Darkrai's Dark Void attack.
17. Steel Pokemon gain Palkia's Special Rend attack.
18. Any Pokemon of an indeterminate type will gain Manaphy's Heart Swap attack.

Hybrid Pokemon always gain the attack that corresponds to their primary type. The only exception to this rule are Normal-hybrid Pokemon, which gain Aeroblast if Normal/Flying, Water Spout if Normal/Water, or Psycho Boost if Normal/Psychic.

Each Pokemon can use its Legendary attack three times. If the Pokemon attempts its special attack a fourth time, it will instantly be KO-ed by the Legendary whose power it believes is being abused. Legendary attacks also consume more energy than usual, so even using one is risky. Beware...

If anybody accepts this challenge, please respond here.

If NOBODY accepts this challenge, then I'll start calling people out.

See you soon...... heh heh heh...

I have finally returned; it's about time I gave this guy what he deserves...

Rawk Hawk, I choose you!

OK, let's do this! Prepare to be RAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAWKED!!!!

Sorry for the delay, I choose my shiny male Mudkip Nereus.

Alright buddy, they have the evolutionary advantage, but we have type so it might balance out. Double Team and Double Water Pulse!

Blademaster
12th June 2007, 09:53 AM
OK, Rawk, they wanna use type advantage? We'll do the same thing.

"Busk."

What?! What do you mean, 'Can't."?

"Combusk-busken combusken."

You don't know any super-effective moves against a Mudkip? ...Shit... OK, then, we'll try something else.

Use Aerial Ace to blow through that Double Team, and then hit Nereus with a Sky Uppercut, followed by a Focus Blast.

Move: Aerial Ace, Sky Uppercut, Focus Blast

Greyfox

Well, I had a great reffing almost posted; my browser crashed before I could though, so I'll have to rewrite it.

I'm gonna do it simple though:

Blademaster vs Vermillion

Rawk Hawk - Male Combusken
100% Health
100% Energy
Aerial Ace / Sky Uppercut / Focus Blast

Nereus - Male Mudkip **
100% Health
100% Energy
Double Team / Water Pulse / Water Pulse

Nereus uses Double Team and creates 3 clones (-6% Energy).
Rawk Hawk uses Aerial Ace and hits Nereus (-3% Damage; -5% Energy). Nereus' clones are dispersed.

Nereus uses Water Pulse and hits Rawk Hawk (-7% Damage; -4% Energy; no confusion).
Rawk Hawk uses Sky Uppercut and hits Nereus critically (-8% Damage; -5% Energy).
Nereus uses Water Pulse again and hits Rawk Hawk (-7% Damage; -4% Energy; no confusion).
Rawk Hawk uses Focus Blast, causing great damage (-10% Damage; -8% Energy; no SP DEF reduction).

Rawk Hawk - Male Combusken
86% Health
80% Energy
Tired; confident; wet

Nereus - Male Mudkip **
79% Health
86% Energy
Hurt jaw; otherwise okay

Apologies for the crude reffing; I'll get it better the next round.

OK Rawk, we've taken the lead - let's keep it that way.

Start with a Night Slash, followed by a Quick Attack and then a Double Kick.

Use Aerial Ace's speed to dodge Toxic.

ROUND ONE

The collosseum is the setting for this match. The arena is literally littered with several statues of so-called legendary pokemon that have yet to prove their own existence. Nereus, Vermillion's purple-colored mudkip, yelps excitedly as he is withdrawn from his poke ball. Closing his eyes, Nereus creates three clones of himself, each one more identical than the last (-6% - Nereus). Hawk, however, doesn't fret. He opens up his right hand - his claws recently sharpened. Though he has the elemental disadvantage, he remains poised. The fire pokemon slashes at the air, creating several small blades of wind that spread in a wave-like fashion, like a shot gun. The several air "bullets" rip through the mudkip clones, including Nereus himself, for light damage (-3% - Nereus; -5% - Rawk Hawk).

Slightly annoyed, the mud-fish pokemon reels back as he summons a large ball of water from his mouth. As the water energy is concentrated into a greater ball, Nereus shoots it off, crashing into Rawk Hawk for great damage (-7% - Rawk Hawk; -4% - Nereus). Brushing off the water bits, Rawk Hawk balls up his right fist as it glistens with fighting spirit. The fire chicken darts over to his foe with an agile quickness before ducking down almost below the mud-fish. Nereus looks confused, but that confusion lasts a mere milli-second as Hawk thrusts upwards, slamming the mukip in the jaw as he rises up (-8% - Nereus; -5% - Rawk Hawk). Nereus is flung into the air and hits the ground with a crashing thud.

His jaw in pain, Nereus conjures another water pulse, but expels more energy than before in his condition. The ball of water is flung once more towards Rawk Hawk, who takes the hit unwillingly (-7% - Rawk Hawk; -5% - Nereus). As the water drips from his orange coat, Hawk reels back once more, collecting a great assortment of energy before shooting it off in Nereus' direction. The great blade of energy pierces through the mud-fish, causing great damage (-10% - Nereus; -8% - Rawk Hawk).

ROUND TWO

The second round begins just as quickly as the first. Hawk's right arm begins to tremble with a dark force as he rushes towards the mud-fish pokemon. Nereus, however, remains sturdy as he conjures up his attack, still sore from the attack earlier. Closer and closer Rawk runs, but Nereus shoots off a glob of mud at his firery foe, slapping him right in the face (-6% - Rawk Hawk; -5% - Nereus). Both pokemon wince from the attack. The mud trickles from Hawk's eyes as he carefully slashes downward at Nereus, leaving a superficial cut on the mudkip's forehead (-5% - Nereus; -5% - Rawk Hawk); Nereus squeals out of anguish.

No one taking advantage of their summoning abilities, Rawk Hawk immediately leaps back so he can gain momentum. About five feet away from his foe, Rawk Hawk then quickly charges towards the mudkip once more, ready do dish out some more damage. Unfortunately for him, Nereus is once again ready to strike, glowing a light brownish color (-3% - Nereus). Rawk Hawk slams into the mudkip, dealing mild damage (-4% - Nereus; -2% - Rawk Hawk), but Nereus retalliates, head-butting his foe in the torso for greater damage (-6% - Rawk Hawk).

Annoyed at his deception, Hawk immediately kicks the mud-fish pokemon up into the air lightly (-2% - Nereus; -1% - Rawk Hawk), then proceeds to leap up into the air and kick the pokemon back down to the ground (-2% - Nereus; -2% - Rawk Hawk). The mudkip rolls onto the ground painfully, but immediately pulls himself back together. His sore mouth not so sore anymore, Nereus shoots off another water pulse, sailing through the air and knocking the combusken back just as he landed (-7% - Rawk Hawk; -4% - Nereus).

ROUND THREE

Rawk Hawk begins round three by closing his eyes and summoning a double of himself; not a clone, however, an actual life-like combusken (-10% - Rawk Hawk; +10% - Faux Hawk). Being nonethewiser, Nereus shoots off a collection of mud towards the living doll. The mud slaps against the Faux Hawk, causing damage as it would Rawk Hawk (-6% - Faux Hawk; -5% - Nereus).

This pleases Nereus, as he shoots off a steady stream of water as the real Hawk takes a moment to breath. The water crashes into the Faux Hawk easily (-4% - Faux Hawk; -3% - Nereus), causing it to break apart. Annoyed, Nereus realized that he had just been had, and that does not rawk!... hawk. Curling up into a tiny ball, Nereus charges towards the fire chicken quickly, gaining momentum and dust from the arena floor. Rawk Hawk holds steady, however, and Nereus lands right into his hands (-5% - Rawk Hawk; -4% - Nereus). Slightly pained from Nereus' attack, Rawk Hawk struggles to hold him up before proceeding to fling him into one of the stone pillars (-9% - Nereus; -10% - Rawk Hawk).

ROUND FOUR

Nereus begins the round by closing his eyes and focusing; a light-orange colored veil surrounds him as he thinks peaceful thoughts. Thinking none of it, Rawk Hawk charges at the tranced Nereus and slashes him with his right claw (-5% - Nereus; -3% - Rawk Hawk). Nereus doesn't counterattack. Rawk Hawk, thinking he has the golden opportunity, continues to barrage Nereus with a few great strikes (-8% + -8% - Nereus; -7% + -7% - Rawk Hawk).

Bide is an intesting technique - it takes a great amount of damage over a period of time, and then when the time is right, it unleashes it. Basically, it's the equivilent of a woman coming home night after night to discover that the dishes have not been cleaned while her good-for-nothing boyfriend sits on the couch watching Sports Center. After a full round's worth of barrages, Nereus opens his eyes and the orange aura fades into a large beam, which, upon shooting forward, nails Rawk Hawk for heavy damage and then some (-31% - Rawk Hawk; -22% - Nereus).

ROUND FIVE

As the purple mudkip takes a breather (+5% - Mudkip), Rawk Hawk eagerly charges up to settle the score. Having more energy than his foe, Hawk shoots off a blast of pure fighting spirit which crashes into the relaxing mud-fish pokemon for great damage (-10% - Nereus; -7% - Nereus).

Feeling refreshed (and slightly sore), Nereus counterattacks by shooting a large torrent at the firery opponent. Rawk Hawk takes the full blast ungracefully (-7% - Rawk Hawk; -4% - Nereus). The wet fire pokemon shoots off another focus blast, which rips through the air easily and slams into the mud-fish once again (-10% - Nereus; -8% - Rawk Hawk).

For the third action, the two pokemon did the same thing as the second action, doing the same damage at the cost of slightly more fatigue, (-7% - Rawk Hawk; -10% - Nereus; -5% - Nereus; -9% - Rawk Hawk).

ROUND SIX
Rawk Hawk wastes no time before throwing out a barrage of stars that zip trhrough the discarded arena like nobody's business. Nereus isn't unprepared, either, however. The tiny mudfish absorbs the weak attack (-4% - Nereus; -3% - Rawk Hawk), and merely shoots it right back at him with stronger force, slashing against Hawk swiftly (-6% - Rawk Hawk; -4% - Nereus).

Rawk Hawk tries once more, throwing another barrage of stars at his foe, who responds in the same fashion; the stars are once more absorbed by Nereus, who proceeds to fling 'em right back at Rawk Hawk seconds before fainting (-4% - Nereus / Overkill; -3% - Rawk Hawk). Once again, the stars rip through Hawk's body (-6% - Rawk Hawk / Overkill), knocking him out as well.

ROUND SEVEN

Two pokemon down, two remain. As the respective trainers recall their previous, and send out their next pokemon, the clouds start coming in. Out of the poke balls is a plump shelgon, protected by his shell, and a dual-headed ostrich bird, a doduo.

The round begins, and Choco, the doduo, releases a cloud of icy mist into the field, closing off Czar Dragon's perception (-5% - Choco). He fears not however, as he shoots off a windy funnel which wraps up the icy mist and throws it right back in the doduo's direction. The rippling winds of ice and cold rip through Choco's body (-8% - Choco; -5% - Czar Dragon).

Slightly cold, the agile doduo darts towards her shelled foe, tackling him easily (-4% - Czar Dragon; -2% - Choco). The shell-dragon falls on his backside, finding it difficult to pick himself back up due to his outer shell. After struggling to pick himself back up (-2% - Czar Dragon), he fires off a chain of draconic energy which hits the doduo easily (-7% - Choco; -6% - Czar Dragon).

Annoyed, Choco steps a few feet back go gain momentum, and charges towards the shellgon again, once more knocking him to the floor (-4% - Czar Dragon; -2% - Choco). Rather than getting up himself, the dragon closes his eyes and squeals loudly. Several spheres of red, blue and yellow wrap around the downed shelgon, and he fades from the field quickly (-10% - Czar Dragon).

Both of Choco's heads wonder about Czar's whereabouts, but her concerns fade when she hears a loud roaring sound in the distance. The earth trembles and she struggles to keep balance as a massive silver dragon steps forward. His appearance dwarfs every living thing there. The dragon pokemon, legendary Dialga, opens his mouth and roars loudly. A draconic wind escapes from the mouth of the dragon as the arena, space, and time itself begins to ripple. Choco's head begins to scream as she hits the ground, taking severe damage (-15% - Choco). Upon finishing his attack, Dialga closes his mouth and fades away, almost as if he were never there. Czar Dragon reappears, feet safely on the ground.

Lets try a combo technique I invented, the Whirly Bird. Use Whirlwind and Agility together, and since you don't have wings, sprint around the dragon in a tight circle to create a cyclone prison of sorts. Use you speed to make it turn super fast. While hes dizzied and trapped assault him with Supersonic to confuse him.

ROUND EIGHT

Choco begins the round by sprinting around her dragon foe, creating a mighty tailwind around her. Her speed getting exponentially greater, Czar Dragon begins to have difficulty just keeping an eye on her. As if he were a young child trying to get attention from a busy mother, Czar attempts to intimidate the feathery foe with a scary face (-2% - Czar Dragon), but Choco fails to take notice. The tailwinds become violent as Choco continues to dart around her foe, knocking the shelgon to the floor (-6% - Czar Dragon; -8% - Choco).

Choco's legs begin to feel like rubber as she slows down, keeping up pace as to ease the strain. Czar Dragon takes advantage of the situation and clears his mind for a few moments before bashing his ground-bird foe harshly (-6% - Choco; -5% - Czar Dragon).

Choco resumes her steadfast pace while keeping her sets of eyes fixated on the shelled dragon pokemon. Czar, unbeknowingly stares back into the eyes of his foe before being lulled into a merciless confusion as the dual-headed ostrich shrieks loudly at him (-5% - Choco). No longer having the zen attitude he once had, Czar Dragon's mind echoes with many thoughts that overlap one another; CuleX continues to bark out the last command, but the words never reach Czar Dragon as he stares blankly at the sky. The dragon attempts to focus, but it's not quite clear - a fire snaps from within his mouth as he finally lunges at Choco, sinking his firery teeth into her torso (-6% - Choco; -5% - Czar Dragon).

Close your eyes and try to clear away the Confusion a bit, and then use Water Pulse to try and confuse that thing right back. Finish with Dragon Pulse.

EDIT: OK, Czar, you can't learn Water Pulse... Try scorching it with Flamethrower instead.

ROUND NINE

As the dragon pokemon closes his eyes and eases his mind (+5% - Czar Dragon), Choco wastes no time in attacking. Hiding in the shadows, Choco flickers about before finally crashing into the shelgon, knocking him to the ground easily (-6% - Czar Dragon; -5% - Choco). Czar Dragon struggles to pull himself back up once more, like a downed turtle (-2% - Czar Dragon), and does so.

Finally full of flare (and no longer suffering from confusion), Czar Dragon blasts the bird pokemon with a sudden chain of fire (-6% - Choco; -5% - Czar Dragon). Choco responds as a golden aura engulfs her and the environment around her. Utilizing the arena, Choco shoots off a beam of white energy that crashes into the shelgon harshly (-7% - Czar Dragon; -6% - Choco).

Showing no mercy, Choco then leaps high into the air and her twin beaks sparkle in the sunlight. Crashing down upon the shelgon, she stabs him twice with each beak for great damage (-4% + -4% - Czar Dragon; -5% - Choco). Czar flinches before retreating further from his foe. Breathing in deeply, the shelgon shoots off an oddly blue-colored prism of flames that trickle through the air and crash into the doduo angrily (-8% - Choco; -4% - Czar Dragon).

You're doing great, Czar Dragon, just great!

Try catching up with that thing's speed with Dragon Dance, and then rush it with a Crunch attack - go for its leg(s)! Then, slam it with another Flamethrower from point-blank range.

If it mages to steal or negate your Dragon Dance's boosts, use Aerial Ace for the second attack instead.

ROUND TEN

The shy shelgon begins the round by running around in circles, leaping about every once in awhile in a dance-like fashion as his nerves tingle and his attack power increases - the spirit of the dragon can be witnessed in this little bugger (-2% - Czar Dragon). Meanwhile, as Czar Dragon dances the night away, Choco thinks back to his previous attack, the massive Dragon Pulse and thinks of how to possibly use it to his advantage. When the egg timer in his brain finally dings, Choco opens his eyes in a firery rage, reeling back as he collects energy, then blowing it forward. He releases a similar prism of blue-green flames which soar through the air and crash into the dancing dragon pokemon, causing great damage (-12% - Czar Dragon; -11% - Choco). Choco begins to pant - the energy requirement from such an attack was quite massive.

She, the slightly tired doduo, in an act of confusion, closes her eyes and, in a puff of smoke, is divided into three doduo now (-5% - Choco). Six doduo heads now intimidate the shelled-dragon pokemon. Czar doesn't give into the intimidation, but rather forces himself forward. His teeth cannot be seen, but they're massive and dark. Said teeth sink into one of the three doduo, but latch onto nothing as the doduo vanishes in thin air easily (-6% - Czar Dragon).

Feeling successful, Choco closes her eyes as several multi-colored orbs begin to dance around her and her clone. Like the previous summoning ritual, Choco is teleported to a safe location (along with her clone, even though no real damage can be caused to it) (-10% - Choco). The shelgon ponders of her location, and thinks it is a cheap trick. His search for the double-headed pokemon falter as he suddenly hears a change in the winds and an ancient shrieking sound blasting from afar. His eyes catch a large bird pokemon, but he refuses to believe just who it is. Despite his reservations of belief, the pokemon, Lugia, rides the air until stopping over the archaic stadium. He glances at the quivering shelgon, then immediately begins to flap his wings faster and faster, creating a violent series of tornadoes that rip through the arena. Czar Dragon is lifted by one of the tunnels and swung hastily throughout the arena harshly (-15% - Czar Dragon). When, finally, Lugia deems his arrival worthy, the wind current ceases, and Czar Dragon hits the ground with a loud thud (-4% - Czar Dragon). Lugia retreats into the skies, and both Choco reappear like nothing had happened.

Pulling himself back together, Czar Dragon aims at one of the doduo, praying that his accuracy is correct as he shoots out a powerful ray of fire that flies through the air until connecting with Choco! She squeals as the flames envelop her (-7% - Choco; -5% - Czar Dragon), and her clone disappears.

Greyfox

Something like that; Choco's able to use the attack since she was able to pull it off, but the energy requirements will be harsher on her since she's basically pulling a dragon-based attack out of nowhere.

Use Dragon Pulse, just to be safe, and then, after Choco uses Endeavor, use your final two Roars of Time to finish Choco for good.

ROUND ELEVEN

As Choco stays put to regain energy (+5% - Choco), Czar Dragon roars as loud as he can, firing off a beam of pure draconic energy. The dragon pulse darts through the air like a bullet from a gun before crashing into Choco harshly (-8% - Choco; -6% - Czar Dragon), knocking her to the ground.

She pulls herself together, and then charges toward Czar Dragon, utilizing her faltering health as a driving force. She violently tackles the shelled dragon pokemon (-10% - Czar Dragon; -8% - Choco), who hits the ground harshly without struggling to pull himself up. In the same manner as before, the shelgon is engulfed with three orbs of varying colors before vanishing from the field (-20% - Czar Dragon).

Choco relaxes once more, sighing when she realizes what's about to commense; she hears a loud roaring sound in the distance. He's not finished, though, and attacks once more in a similar manner as before, blasting Choco to the floor (-15% - Choco). Unable to pull herself up, Choco cries, defeated. Upon finishing his attack, Dialga closes his mouth and fades away, almost as if he were never there. Czar Dragon reappears, feet safely on the ground.
