The FrostWyrm
the only difference between the Frostwyrm and Hell is that hell would be a lot warmer

An ice coated canyon carved into the unnamed continent by sheer will of the gods. It’s long and has many twists. The actual canyon is filled by a river; most of the river’s surface is frozen enough to walk on, though there are patches of thin ice. Big and small rock and ice stalagmites pierce through the ice coat over the frozen water. There are also ice covered bones of adventurers that have fallen off the icy bridge that hangs high above the foggy cover that hides the bottom of the unforgiving Frostwyrm river. Because of the freezing temperatures of the Frostwyrm, no weather moves will work, the rain will freeze before it reaches the bottom, so it will only result in more snowflakes.

The water under the ice is a strong current, so if you fall in, there is NO health penalty. But it will require you to take 10 energy and an action to get out. If your Pokemon can swim, then you can try to fight the current, but it will eventually over come any Pokemon.

We will be picking first and the opponents second. Special thanks to Mew Master for reffing this.

Rules: 2 pokemon each, 1 out at a time
banned moves: substitute, destiny bond, imprison
banned Pokemon: Chansey -.-;

I shall be partnered up with my Sister, River. We’ll pick first, our opponents shall attack first.

I pick Rosso, my female Shinx.

It's natural to assume that you'll be starting out in the canyon.

EDIT Besides, you've already posted *and* changed your attacks, Puzzle. You'll have to change 'em back to what they were originally (Shadow Ball / Rain Dance + Thunder), otherwise I'll leave out your attacks when I ref the round.

Yeah, CT looked at how many matches I was reffing and suggested that I let Grey have this one. It's fine with me even though she did ask me before she even posted the Challenge. I do have like.... 8 individual matches to Ref anyway ^^U I'll keep updated on this anyway... looks.... interesting to say the least.

Interesting one way to define it, bloody hazardos is another. Lol, ok Space,

Use Safeguard on the both of you(get near him if you have to) while Rosso does his stuff. Then use a Mimic on the Faint Attack to use it to get out of the way. Or learn it, not sure how Grey refs it. Then use Faint Attack if you can to avoid the Secret Power and slam Mimic. If its a one time Mimic(attack) then use a Thunderwave on the Absol.

Safeguard/Mimic(Angel)/Faint Attack(Mimic) or Thunderwave(Angel)

Crystal Tears
3rd July 2007, 02:37 PM
Alright Rosso, Space is going to take care of the entire status ailment issue, if one presents itself. So let’s cover our friend’s back eh? Use a Charge Beam on the Shadowball to make it explode. You’re attack might even cut through and hit the mime jr. Next, since Rain dance won’t work here, you have a free move. Lets show them what we’re made of, Crunch on the mime. Finally, spew a nasty Toxic on Angel.

ROUND ONE

My mind blunders as I step into the freezing abyss that is the Frostwyrm. Why the hell am I here, I wonder? Oh yes, to play referee to a pair of two-person teams. Goodness, gracious. Cold Hell, indeed.

Crystal Tears, the mother of this icy-cold arena, steps onto the frozen canyon, dressed in a dark-blue eskimo jacket. It looks warm, but she doesn't. As she shivers, her left arm reaches for her solitaire poke ball, and summons the small electric-pokemon; Rosso doesn't looked pleased. River, Tears' sister, also wanders into the arena, dressed in similar colors (but she's wearing slightly less). She releases her pokemon as well, a slithery-slinky chimecho by the name of Objects in Space.

Standing on the opposite side of the canyon are Wolfsong, sporting a several jackets of multiple colors, and newcomer Unsolved Puzzle, who somehow managed to strap a heavy blanket over himself using a complex set of belts and scotch tape. The respective trainers release an absol, inappropriately named Angel, and a mime jr., appropriately named Mimic. The four pokemons' genders match their trainers.

The temperature drops for the umpteenth time in the last hour, and all four pokemon ready themselves for a grand battle of epic size. The dark pokemon, Angel, closes her eyes and focuses on an event not of this time. Her eyes open on an event in the future - a mere round ahead; she witnesses on a beam that crashes down upon the shinx, Rosso, before closing her eyes and returning to the present (-7% - Angel). Objects in Space, however, cheerfully hovers over to her shivering ally, Rosso, and erects a silvery shield of protective energy (-7% - ...Space). Mimic, meanwhile, claps his clown-like hands together, creating a dark ball of stale energy. As the shadow ball finishes growing, Mimic tosses it towards the chimecho gleefully before retreating his arms for warmth (-6% - Mimic). The shadow ball clumsily sails through the air as Rosso conjures up electricity. The cold air making it a difficult process, Rosso manages to shoot out a weakened beam of electricity which slams into the shadow ball, forcing it to explode instantly (-6% - Rosso).

Angel cloaks herself in the ice as Objects in Space takes a mental note. The absol, dimmed in appearance, rushes towards the chimecho before slamming into her forcefully (-7% - ...Space; -4% - Angel). Rosso's fangs darken with an unfriendly energy as she lunges towards the mini-mime, sinking her teeth into the junior mime's arm (-7% - Mimic; -5% - Rosso). He flails about until Rosso retreats, and looks to the sky. The mime pokemon then proceeds to dance about before waving his hands about as if he were holding an invisible lasso. The "lasso" catches, and he proceeds to pull down. The clouds become heavier, releasing a light sprinkling of water. Unfortunately, due to the icy winds of Frostwyrm, the warm waters freeze instantly, and snowflakes begin to fall (-5% - Mimic).

Angel begins once again, summoning the cold around her as a concussive force. The snow and ice form into a large beam shape, aimed at the chimecho (-5% - Angel). Angel barks as the beam his shot forward, but Objects in Space immediately cloaks herself in the cold, narrowly avoiding the attack as she hovers over towards Mimic, disguised by snow. She crashes into the mime pokemon similarly to the way Angel did to her (-6% - Mimic; -5% - ...Space). With his target in close proximity, Mimic laughs with glee as he conjures up as much electricity as he can. However, like trying to start a car in January, Mimic has some difficulty. Mimic releases all the electricty he can, which isn't much, which crashes into the chimecho (-6% - ...Space; -6% - Mimic). Objects in Space, slightly shocked (in more ways than one), uses the aforementioned electricity hovers over to Angel, shooting off a very weak wave. The electricity crashes into Angel, paralyzing her slightly (-5% - ...Space). Rosso finishes out the round by darting over to his quadraped foe. The poison glands working overtime, Rosso shoots out a nasty purple acid which latches itself onto the absol's fur before sinking into her body, slowly eating away at her lifeforce (-6% - Rosso).

Ok Space use a Double Team to confuddle them a little, then use a Shadow Ball on Mimic, but don't go distracting him from being attracted, wait until Rosso is finished. Finish up with a Icy Wind on the two of them.

I've made a few errors in the reffing (such as Space's sudden gender swap and the already-noted Safeguard four more rounds[/B], by the way]), but editing the post on this browser, for some reason, messes up the entire post, so I chose not to bother with editing.

Everything'll be fixed in the next reffing, however.

ROUND TWO

How cold is it? Cold enough not to be telling jokes. Before the second round even begins to well... begin, Objects in Space manages to confuse and infuriate the Christian Church heavily by adding boy parts to his body. Where he got 'em, I'll never know. Meanwhile, the future comes around and Angel's predictions come true as a beam of psychic energy rips through the cold air and crashes into the petite electric cat, Rosso (-7% - Rosso).

Scrambling to pull herself back together, Rosso closes her eyes as her ally, Objects in Space, and her opponent, Mimic, do the same. The three of them cry out as several clones are created. Three clones for each pokemon, minus Angel, linger inside the frosty canyons (-6% - Rosso, ...Space, Mimic). Angel, however, knows just how to deal with them; her body begins to charge up with a small amount of electric energy; doing so becomes exponentially more difficult with the cold weather, but she still manages to throw off a swift wave of electricity in a wave pattern, which strikes the many chimeco easily (-3% - ...Space; -5% - Angel), causing his clones to vanish instantly. Angel shudders as poison aches her (-1% - Angel).

Rosso then walks over to one of the many junior mimes sweetly; attempting to flirt, Rosso's beautiful dance falls on blind eyes, as the correct Mimic is far from her. She sighs before retreating to her partner. Meanwhile, Objects in Space aims for a different target. She conjures an orb of dead energy which begins to collect the falling snowflakes as he shoots it off (-6% - ...Space). The shadow ball fliles clumsily through the air as it collides with one of the clones, causing it to disappear instantly. Mimic mimes Space's technique, and creates a similar ball of darkness and death that flails through the air crazily, striking the chimey pokemon (-8% - ...Space; -6% - Mimic). The absol finishes out the set of attacks by shooting off another weak electric attack, this time at Rosso. The electricity crosses against the blue cat's fur, dealing weak damage (-2% - Rosso; -5% - Angel). Once more, poison damage sets in (-1% - Angel).

Upset that her clones have disappeared, Rosso aims at one of the two remaining mimes. Electricity flowing through his body with more proficiency than if it had been flowing through Angel's, Rosso shoots off a thunderous strike of electricity which crashes into Mimic, destroying his clones and causing mild damage (-5% - Mimic; -4% - Rosso). Objects in Space takes advantage of the cold for his final attack, and, using his telepathy, shoots the chilling winds into both Mimic and Angel, causing more cold to the duo than ever (-5% - Mimic, Angel; -4% - ...Space). Mimic takes note of the attack, and scribbles it in a notebook in his head. Meanwhile, the absol takes off towards Objects in Space, utilizing the poison in her body, as well as her constricting paralysis, as an anger tool. She forcefully tackles into the chimecho, causing harsh damage (-10% - Objects in Space; -7% - Angel). Having memorized the attack in his mind, Mimic patomimes, acting like he's cold, though he really doesn't have to, and summoning another icy wind with his mind - the targets, Rosso and Objects in Space, both feel the chillingly chill cold weather brush against them (-5% - Rosso, ...Space; -4% - Mimic). For the final time this round, Angel is pained by the toxins in her body (-1% - Angel).

ROUND THREE

The winds howl furiously as the cold air becomes even more apparent. Wolfsong appears to be holding up fine with her multiple jackets of multiple colors, and the sisters Asayake-Tears are as well. Unfortunately for Unsolved Puzzle, his scotch tape is nearing it's last minutes of life, meaning that in due time, the rope that continues to hold his security blanket to his body will have to start working overtime.

Mimic begins the round by jumping around, alternating between two spots quickly to make it seem as if he were in two places at once - the illusion succeeds, and Mimic manages to clone himself three times (-6% - Mimic); keeping his concentration up to maintain them, however, becomes quite difficult. Meanwhile, as the electric cat-dog pokemon charges up the electric force among him (-4% - Rosso), Objects in Space shoots off a well-conjured blast of electricity which separates into several mini-darts, slashing into the junior mime easily, destroying his clones (-3% - Mimic; -5% - ...Space). To end this volley of attacks, Angel focuses her mind on the chillingly cold winds as the horn atop her head glows a bright white color. The winds, cooler, brush against the two opponents for slight damage (-5% - Rosso, ...Space; -4% - Angel). The hound pokemon's poison aches as she readies for her next attack (-2% - Angel).

Angel, begins to conjure up some clones for defense, creating three absol clones with ease (-6% - Angel). Rosso, meanwhile, flares up, and Objects in Space backs away with his eyes closed. As the tiny electric pokemon cries, a brilliant flash of light envelops the icy canyon, blinding both Mimic and Angel (-3% - Rosso). Mimic, quite frustrated that his clones disappeared as quickly as they appeared, eases his mind by thinking of soothing thoughts - a kitten purring, a child laughing, knowing that Jon Bon Jovi is out there somewhere having sex with someone he doesn't love, etc. His mind, nearing sooth-maximum, is haulted when all-of-a-sudden, a swooshing sound is heard! Objects in Space managed to duck over to his foe and literally snatch away Mimic's calming thoughts (-3% - Mimic; -4% - ...Space). Angel barks painfully once again (-2% - Angel).

Mimic, those his eyes are blind, his mind is angry and full of hatred. His mind flutters as he lifts Rosso with his telekinesis, but he is unable to locate the river to throw the cat pokemon. Mimic only manages to hurl Rosso a few feet into the snow (-5% - Rosso; -4% - Mimic). As the winds begin to pick up, so does Rosso as she darts over to the junior mime, electricity just itching to be released. When he approaches the pokemon, the electricity explodes from within, crashing into Mimic for harsh damage (-12% - Mimic; -7% - Rosso). Angel, still trying to gather her sight back, charges blindly towards what appears to be Objects in Space. Unfortunately, she charges right into a nothingness, harming only her fatigue (-5% - Angel). Safe from harm, Objects in Space hovers over to the mime while simultaneously firing off a blast of stale energy - the shadow ball darts through the air crazily before crashing into Mimic, knocking him down (-10% - Mimic; -8% - ...Space). For the final time this round, Angel is once more stricken with her poison (-2% - Angel).
