All right, I've decided on who i'm going to use. I choose Ironhide and Montana. Ironhide is my male aron and Montana aka Lindsay Monroe is my female turtwig.

Ironhide, I want you to begin with sandstorm. Next, I want you to use rock polish and finally finish with iron head to rattata. However if either of your opponent's come at you with a fire type attack, I want you to use metal burst instead.

Montana, I want you to start with a safeguard to protect both you and Ironhide. Next, I want you to use a wide ranged razor leaf. Finally, let's go for randomness and use hidden power on whoever is closest.

Ironhide: Sandstorm ~ Rock Polish ~ iron Head (Tuuth) Subs: Metal Burst
Montana: Safeguard ~ Razor Leaf ~ Hidden Power (Whoever is closest)

Matrix, use ice punch on Turtwig. Then snatch the speed boost for ourselves and end with drain punch on Aron.

Tuuth use super fang on Turtwig, then ice beam on Turtwig and finish with flame wheel, again at Turtwig.

=)Intro(=
A crowd gathers at the ever popular Indigo stadium for yet another pokemon battle. The issuer of today challenge is none other than our illustrious leader Chris 2.0. He made the challenge to an old friend, Wolfsong, in hopes of a rematch. He releases from 2 pokeballs a silent humanoid and a feisty rodent. Wolfsong smiles and abides the double battle by releasing two quadruped, earth type creatures, one hard as steel the other the epitome of ground.

=)Battle(=
Montana and Ironhide both set up before their initial attacks, the steel type creating a swirling vortex of sand around his teammate and his enemies and the grass type shimmering with a protective shield. The storm clouds the vision of Chris’ pokemon but they charge at the Turtwig anyway. Abra’s frail body is bombarded with small stones and is slowed down but Tuuth pushes through to chomp down on Montana’s neck with glowing fangs.

Since all attention is on his partner, Ironhide closes his eyes and glows with a soft sheen. A layer of skin is polished his body giving him greater speed. Just as he feels the lightness take over it is quickly Snatched away by the tricksy Matrix, who is now shiny and polished for action. Tuuth still hangs onto Montana’s neck but she repels him away with a flurry of Razors Leaves from her head growth. Tutth quickly recovers and retaliates with a pearly white beam of frost that nails the Grass/Ground for heavy damage.

Matrix quickly rushes the Aron, sandstorm be damned, just as he lowers his head to attack Tuuth. Matrix delivers a direct punch to Ironhide’s skull, draining a bit of energy and cringing in pain. Punching a steel wall isn’t fun kids. The Aron is only slightly deterred and he charges again at the rat. Meanwhile Tuuth his rushing Montana as a ball of flames swirls to life around him. Montana waits patiently and channels the Hidden Power within her body. Six balls of energy emerge from her body and flicker a multitude of colors that rest on a soft blue hue, Water Type. She throws the attack which hits and slows the rat down just enough for Ironhide to sides swipe him with Ironhead. Tuuth is thrown from the concentrated area of the sandstorm with a dull throb in his side…

If you’re curious to why Ice punch didn’t work, Abra’s are frail creature who cant stand that well against a heavy storm of debris. Comments on my reffing would be appreciated as this a new set up for double battles. Is everything clear and easy to read? Do you like it? Thanx ^_^

Thanks for the reffing Verm. The layout is pretty good but can get confusing since both Pokemon's things are on the same line. It doesn't need any changes though.

I can see the justification with ice punch but does that limit Abra's movement then? Since it's quite a hindrance. Also do direct attacks (ie punches, kicks) hurt/irritate the attacker because of Aron's hide? Because fighting is super effective against steel for a reason.

Otherwise brilliant work!

Matrix use a fire punch on Turtwig. Then use psychic and end with shadow ball.

If Turtwig protects, use the attack on Aron. If both protect, relax.

Tuuth use hyper fang on Turtwig, then use ice beam on him and then flame wheel at Aron.

If one foe protects switch your action to the other. If both protect, then relax.

If a physical attack comes your way, surround yourself in flame wheel to keep attackers at bay.

Sorry that it took me a while work has been keeping me super busy lately.

Montana, I waat you to start with double team. Next, use leaf storm on Tuuth and finish by relaxing.

Ironhide, start with dragon rush on Matrix. Follow that up with aerial ace. Finally, finnish with Metal burst to Tuuth.

To answer you question yes Abra’s movement is a bit hampered. I like to use a pokemon physiology in my reffings to give it a sense of reality. Rattata will be hampered as well but Wolfsong’s team wont be as much since they are of the “Earth” types. Mostly that means you will burn up energy a little faster. Punches still do what they are designed to do but punching a steel type will hurt Abra who has weak fist strength. Also fixed the coloring a bit to tell who is who better ^_^.

Matrix warily watches both opponents as he is outnumbered at the moment. They circle around him like lions eyeing a wounded gazelle and they both react quickly. Montana shines softly and creates copies of herself, but they are destroyed as fast as they are created thanks to the storm. Ironhide lowers his body and covers himself in indigo flames which burn with dragons might! He speeds at the Abras just as he gathers flames in his fist and deals a mighty punch to Montana’s face. Matrix is side swiped by Aron and knocked to his back. Suddenly from nowhere Tuuth wails a battle cry and plunges back into the storm, teeth bared, and delivers a monumental chomp to the grass type, who squeal and thrashes to throws Tuuth off.

Montana finds that she is the main target of the Chris 2.0 duo. Tuuth release his hold and before Montana gets a chance to recover she is psychically levitated and smashed into the ground. Matrix smiles at tormenting his foe but he should be watching his rear as Ironhide mows into him again this time with spinning wind energy surrounding him. Tuuth knows his partner can take care of himself so he focuses all his cold energy into a beam which strikes the dizzied grass type head on. A frost starts to build on Montana’s hide but she stands up and lowers her head. The twig on her skull begins to spin rapidly and from it a green twister flies free, laced with leaves. The Attack blows and slashes the rat into the storm where his visual is lost.

Rid of that annoying rodent Montana sits down and relaxes herself to stay on top of her game. The roaring winds of the sand storm calm her but she is left a sitting duck as Matrix attacks her again with a Shadow Ball to her side. She is sent rolling along and lands in a heap. Matrix gathers his strength from the last assault and notices his steel combatant gone. In the deep of the storm he sees two flashes, one of silver luminance and red flames. Tuuth and Ironhide duke it out with body slamming blows of Steel and Fire Type. However Tuuth loses out as Metal Burst does doubles the damage the user takes, a steel type counter if you will. Tuuths flame dies and Ironhide stands over him triumphantly…

Matrix reacts quickly, thanks to Rock Polish, to help his downed partner. He races through the storm to the flashes of light he recently witness and charges his fist with a bluish, leeching energy. He finds the Aron and cracks it with Drain Punch. The hit stings a little but the energy sucked heals it back. Ironhide is flung from Tuuth to roll to his feet. Angered by the surprise attack he charges flashing orange electricity which launches at the psychic as multiple dagger-like bolts. Matrix takes the hit in stride but this is only a diversion for Tuuth to ram the Aron with its Flame Wheel ability. Satisfied with revenge Tuuth and Matrix are taken back by the wide spray of leaves that cut through the storm and slice them both. Montana smiles and rushes to her partner’s side.

Now together again, Team Wolfsong fight as a unit! Montana focuses on Tuuth and rises up on her hind legs to drop to the ground with a hard “Thump”. Nothing happens as first and Tuuth sneers as he charges an Ice Beam but something unusual happens. He finds his vision sinking very slowly and as he looks down at the problem he squeaks in fear from the quicksand traps he is in! The more he fights, the deeper he sinks, which throws his concentration from his attack. Matrix on the other hand waited patiently as the six multi-colored spheroid’s circle Ironhide and stop on neon orange, Fighting Type. The attack flies for the Abra and he takes the hit with grace. He claps, slowly at first then faster to congratulate the Aron and encourages it to do that again. Ironhide is very flattered by this and begins to charge Hidden Power again.

Now buried up his head, Tuuth can’t find the will to charge an attack as he life is slowly sinking away. The quicksand finally ceases, leaving the rat’s head protruding from the ground. Montana attacks quickly while Tuuth is a sitting duck and slashes his face with Razor Leaf. Matrix sees the beat down Tuuth is taking and dashes over, right fist a ball of flames. He uppercuts Montana away from his sunken pal but he is stuck from the rear by the Hidden Power he applauded Ironhide for.
