TPM has a general policy that once a thread reaches more than 11 or 12 pages, we close it and archive it. So from now on, let's use this thread, seeing as how I started the last couple and here I am ^_^ I'm sure the mods will close and archive the other one. :lemoncool:

Basic rules apply, do not double post, post title and artist, and any other information you deem appropriate. Don't post links except in your signature; if anyone is genuinely curious they'll seek the band out.

The Polyphonic Spree - Light and Day.mp3
"You don't see me flyin to the red; One more you're nuts; Just follow the seasons and find the time;
Reach for the bright side."

I saw them on Saturday night for free -- it was their first Florida concert ever at FSU, and a bunch of my friends and I gathered up close to the stage to witness this event. It was, for lack of better words, the best show I've ever seen. Of course, when the band has twenty-three members in it, you can't expect anything less than awesome.

The only problem I had with the show was the audience -- Polyphonic Spree is not make-out music, I don't care how drunk you are.

Completely off topic, but does this include Sentai too? I've recently gotten into Jyuken Sentai Gekiranger and like it.^^ It's a bit nostalgic, even if it's a bit more mature than the counterpart over here.

Date is as yet unconfirmed... apparently, some people are trying to sell transport and accommodation packages all ready. Can you say RIP OFF? I got that news from TotalRock, a London-based radio station... the warning was in today's newsletter. From the wording, I gather that they are going to try for it, but haven't gotten a date set.

Yay for Evanescence! My favourite band (perhaps soon to be overtaken, but that's beside the point). Yeah, Lacrymosa's a great song. I like Lacuna Coil as well, although they're much, much more guilty of all their songs sounding the same than Evanescence. Nightwish is great too; it'll be interesting to see their direction since they've changed their lead. At the moment, am listening to All for Believing by Missy Higgins.

I think that's debatable... I think that they just find a sound for an album and keep to it. Their older stuff sounds nothing like the new. *shrugs* Matter of opinion, though. They're nice as hell, though. They were one of the greatest meet and greet bands I've encountered. :D

@Dru: That song still melted my breain. See, it melted my brain so badly that I totally misspelled "brain" in that last sentence.

They Only Wanna Eat Your Brains... hmm... out of curiosity, does that song have a chorus that goes something like

All they wanna do is eat your brains
It's not unreasonable
I mean, no one's gonna eat your eyes...

etc, etc. If so, I've been DYING to find that song... I saw a weird anime video at a con that was played to that song, and I thought it was hilarious.

Um, anyway, on topic:

Wild Wild West by The Escape. I don't particularly care for it, but Pandora's kind of stupid and only lets you skip a certain number of songs per session, so I'm saving those for the REALLY intolerable songs. I wish my last.fm would unbreak... ; ;

No, I'm not sure about that song... The FDQ song's chorus is:

Hey hey hey, they only wanna eat your brains
Hey hey hey, Mama, those were the days
Of the dead

It's a funny song, though... and very catchy. Catchy-ness is a trademark of Wednesday 13, how I love him so. He was in a car wreck last night... ;_; At least he wasn't hurt so badly that it's effected his national tour, though he had to cancel the Bourbon Crow shows... *sniffles*

Within Temptation eh? Yeah I like them, they have some very pretty songs. I don't like What Have You Done much though, sounds like a paler version of Evanescence. Listening to Butterflies and hurricanes by Muse. My favourite song by them! I love the piano solo and just how the whole thing is buiilt up with the strings and stuff. But Sober's a great song. I think I said this when I posted in here with that song -- interesting study in song structure (no apparent chorus) and great build-up, just a very strong song in general. I like it much better than many of her rockier ones like Never Again, which are more formulaic. Right now, listening to Baba by Alanis Morrisette.

System of a Down - The Metro

I actually like this cover a lot more than the original. While the original was alright, I like how System managed to take a brighter, more poppy sound and lyrics and change it around to sound a little more minor and less jumpy, as well as the change in lyrics to a more masculine tone to suit the genre/vocalist.

Alkaline Trio's cover was better than the original too, but I guess it's the slight change in lyrics done by System that makes their cover better.

I've found myself listening to this song quite nearly non-stop lately. I still think this band is great, although in some aspects it sounds quite like, say, A Perfect Circle or Tool, albeit shorter/less experimental songs, and lyrics clearly derived from old phrases used mainly in Texas...

See, I didn't think very much of Young Modern at all. I thought it was hugely overrated when it first came out. I like Straight Lines in a sappy way. Although I can't say I heard Young Modern or If You Keep Losing Sleep. Then again, I tend to confused Silverchair with another band known as Silverstein.

The Rasmus - Night After Night (Out of the Shadows)

Although unlike the seeming majority of global-scale artists produced by Scandinavia, this band sticks more to a darker alternative of the modern pop/sometimes techno sound than metal. Pretty good listen for their genre, in my opinion.

And I really wish I could get the earlier albums on to my computer without scavenging for possibly destroyed CD's. Dead Letters was awesome...

It's nice, but disappointing seeing as apparently this is their best album. I really like the new solo album a lot. Although it's odd to hear that he wants to create music videos for every song, especially considering I just finished watching the one for Empty Walls for the first time.

Playing a little piano and points where you're singing from a ballpit is fine, but the fact the kids in the music video were pretty much re-enacting the entire war from 9/11 in their own level of thought is...kinda sad and creepy. :/
