This morning, I was looking at the Sunday comics that my maternal Grandma gave us yesterday (as she does every Tuesday), and I read "Foxtrot"...it mentions "Pokemon Diamond" and "Pearl"!

Here it is if you want to see it for yourself (if you haven't already):

Never seen that comic but it's kinda funny. Glad you don't have to wait in lines like that in real life.

VG Cats makes references to Pokémon games too now and then and I'm sure many other web comics do as well.

That's a nice one, but it's still not half as funny as Jason's Charizard card saga. Now that was just... yeah. *starts laughing from the memories*

(I might edit in links to the individual strips later.)

And yeah, a lot of webcomics have done Pokemon strips. VG Cats, Snafu... heck, it wouldn't surprise me to see an 8-Bit Theater one. But FoxTrot's one of the few syndicated comics that did so multiple times. Good stuff.

Please do! You've piqued my interest. :)

Heheh, always nice to poke fun at the franchise. Especially since we have to go without any new episodes or movies here since so long. *twitches* Is it to much to ask to be able to buy the 8th movie in the shop instead of off eBay or something?

Have you tried this one (http://www.ctrlaltdel-online.com/comic.php?d=20051226) yet? Mild adult language alert. Note the title in the top right corner. (And, to calm your nerves: Zeke is a console, granted an unordinary one.)

Katie Tiedrich over at Awkward Zombie has done a fair share of amusing Pokemon-related strips, as well.

One (http://www.awkwardzombie.com/comic1-050707.php)
Two (http://www.awkwardzombie.com/comic1-060407.php)
Three (http://www.awkwardzombie.com/comic1-061807.php)

Toxicity > Heheh, yeah the whole deal makes no sense at all.

BTW, I forgot there was another CAD comic on Pokémon: http://www.ctrlaltdel-online.com/comic.php?d=20071026

I like the one with Graveler plunging into the water. A good example that you sometimes shouldn't think too much about logic in Pokémon games.

Okay, I haven't been able to find actual images of the strips in question (and believe me, I've tried). There doesn't seem to be the same level of fan-archiving as there is for other comics like Dilbert. But if anyone would like to seek out the Charizard comics, I can give you a starting point: they're part of the Death by Field Trip collection.

Sorry I couldn't be more help, but there just isn't anything useful on the net, it seems. I'd bet anyone who tried to set up an archive got a nice little letter from the publishers...

Really? :notfunny:

Well, thanks anyway. :)

Oh, and as for the other comics...the Graveler-sinking-in-water one was the only one I really liked, IMHO.

The Pokemon-related comics at Penny Arcade are hilarious. There's one with Chimchar: http://www.penny-arcade.com/comic/2007/05/28

PA has actually made me laugh with the good amount of Pokemon-related strips in recent months. I think before that there was only, what...one?

^ One of my personal favorites, just because that seems to be the makeup of the fan base. For fact's sake, I'd be the guy in the middle.

Hehe, not only you. I'm 30 years old and I traded Pokémon with myself just yesterday (so I can level them up faster or make them evolve, lol).

I lol'd. Frequently. I love the way Wartortle was drawn. All of the other comics are really worth looking at too, she seems to have a specialty in pointing out gaming's multiple WTF's... Thanks for showing them, I like 'em a lot.

EDIT: Not Pokemon related, but this was probably my favourite... http://www.awkwardzombie.com/comic1-100806.php . I'll stop going off-topic now.

EDIT2: Actually, going off-topic is fun. AVMA sent me a friend voucher for Corruption! It took me months to realise it was there. OK I'm done.

DMFA (http://www.missmab.com) had a whole Pokemon arc (http://www.missmab.com/Comics/Arch_002.php) back in the old color-less days.

The last comic wasn't too well drawn (back then) but the comic was quite decent. The craze didn't fade as quickly as the comic made it out though.
