My clock says that it'll be 5 more minutes until midnight... here comes 2008!

Right, another 365 days have gone by (it'll be 366 days next year, IIRC)... phew, what a year, eh? The good, the bad... and the badass. Etc. Here's mine:

The good:
-I was send off to National Service (Cool, military-like training! And we get to fire the M16 too!)
-I made it into college (not the real, 3+ years college - this is something of a pre-university college, mind you)
-I got a laptop!

The bad:
-I was send off to National Service (Gah, military-like training... the heat, marching, early wake-up call... well, at least we get a little bit of allowance out of it all...)
-Muse was in Malaysia, and yet I haven't got a chance to catch their concert ;_;
-...other than that, things are pretty boring around here... oh yeah, I have to spend 2-3 hours sitting in the field - it was raining too - for the National Day celebration >>

The badass:
-Being moderated as fanfic mod, w00t!

Through my years of stay in TPM, I'll rate 2007 as my second best TPM year after 2006. Hm... oh yeah, this topic won't be complete without a new years resolutions or the likes, would it? For mine, it'll be:
-To not fail in my final semester exam this April
-To go into the real, proper university
-To stay alive for another year
-To not get myself killed

...talk about a list. I'm so pathetic >>

But. I've a few TPM related new years resolution myself! They would be:
-To carry out the job as the fanfic mod with an utmost responsibility (hm...)
-To read/write more fic (another hm...)
-To make a comeback at ASB (this time, I swear I'll do a proper comeback... or something)
-And finally... to spend more time in TPM (I'll try ~_^)

Have a good 2008, TPM! :lemoncool:

Wee! Second here to post my resolution. Like there is something to earn from here. >>;

It read here, 2am 01 Jan 2008. In fact, I just came back from the official countdown at Suntec City. I came back earlier than expected since the crowd grew a bit hostile and there were much scuffling around. So much so that I eventually got separated from my friends. >.<; Dang!

Overall, the celebration was good and the fireworks were fabulous. Oh and also before I head off again, let me post my new year resolutions and my overview of 2007.

The good...

Hmm, is there any good things to mention about? Hah yes,

1) Got through the entire year without failing a single module
2) Getting to make new friends

The bad...

1) Did not win much money during all my mahjong sessions
2) Did quite badly for the last uni semester

2008 resolution...

1) Continuing to mod OA forum and hopes that better animes would come out during the next few seasons allowing me to post better topics
2) Get through the entire year without retaining a semester
3) Graduate with a bachelor degree by year end

There's right, folks! Happy 2008 ahead!

Happy New Year, guys, although it's 2:30 pm here in sunny Florida.

Eh, this year was fairly eventful. Although this will go down with the bad years I've had all since '03.

Good:
- Had my 18th birthday
- Graduated from high school
- Now an undergraduate at Florida State University
- First car
- Developed closer bonds throughout my senior year in high school
- Still in touch with my closest friend, who's still around where I used to live
- Helped said friend keep a stable activity level on the forum he started

Bad:
- Parents decided to follow me over and move due to the location of my dad's job
- Even then, parents decide to deny me access to needs
- Dad admitted that he didn't love me
- Mom denied me counseling because she could
- Majority of high school drama followed me towards the last part of my senior year (following spring break)
- Got sick a lot this year
- Insulting message from my ex out of the blue
- Mom's uncle died, marking the second close relative I've lost since my grandfather died last year
- Grandmother kept thinking me not seeing her meant I was "too good for her"

Badass:
- Appointed Global Moderator on my friend's forum
- A.R.C., yo

Resolutions?:
- Become healthier and happier
- Maintain a good GPA
- Not get myself killed in the thug-like areas I'm forced to call "home" at the moment
- Continue to keep friends
- Actually keep a commitment when I start writing again
- Make sure the server on that forum stays up

Goodnight Seadra

Woot, quite a few stuff happened in 2007!

-Did really well in my first year as university student and off to a great start second year
-Finished the first draft of "Nothing, Everything"
-Made some new friends, both in real life and internet

The Bad:
-Too many dentist/doctor appointments (let's leave it like that...)
-There were a few fire incidents at my dorm and am now afraid there's going to be another one O.o
-Sort of having a good/bad relationship with my mom

The Badass
-Pretty much everything under "good"! XD

Resolutions
-Keep up with my good grades at school
-Be more active at TPM
-Review more fics at TPM

Woooo happy new year! I've been sick for the last week so I didn't really get to celebrate properly. I sat in my living room with my mom and watched the 3 Bourne movies while getting a lil tipsy off of wine coolers. I'm such a winner.

Good 2007:
-New step-mom who is not a bitch in comparison to last year's model
-Internship over the summer that paid great and gave me experience for both my major and minor
-New sweet boyfriend
-New pet mice, Boo and Fatty :3
-I never have to take a math class again!!!!!

Bad 2007:
-College has drama just like high school, I thought that was supposed to go away >=(
-Mental breakdown in a class that I ended up dropping about 75% into the semester... going to have to try again next fall.
-Started drinking when I said I would be a good girl :x

Badass 2007:
-Bonfire. I woke up at 5am every single Sat/Sun of the fall to do physical labor of chopping down trees, carrying them to site, and stacking them 45ft high, just to douse it in gasoline and set it alight. I can't put the amazingness into words. Also, I was appointed one of the two '08 Chairs for my crew, woo!

Resolutions 2008:
-I was 108lbs in '06, I want to get back there.
-Catch up on my hours
-Keep up with my no less than a grade of B in anything
-Learn to knit :B

Wow.. 2008! I was in one of the last time zones to turn; it was amusing talking to friends during the day of January 1 while it was still December 31 here. Nevertheless I have quite a few things to do this year... but last year:

The Good:
*I became Managing Editor of the Anchor newspaper.
*I got to meet Red Jumpsuit Apparatus, Silversun Pickups and more!
*I became an official Math major and passed Mechanics!!!!!!
*I turned 21, whoohoo!
*I got to meet my friends from Alaska!
*I went an ENTIRE YEAR without eating chocolate.

The Bad:
*I gained some weight this year. :(

The Ugly:
*Calculus II.

What I Resolve to Do in 2008:
*NOT Withdraw from any classes at school.
*Lose some poundssss
*Have a song played on national radio!

The good:
- 9 acceptances out of 13 applications, handful of ivies, a respectable series of college admissions
- Went to Princeton! Woot
- Got my first job, software development junk. Boring, but made a shitload of money and some great friends
- So much awesome math to study ^_^
- Met Andrew Wiles. Sat next to Andrew Wiles in a math lecture. Was overwhelmed by sheer genius.
- Finally get to study math, physics, and CS theory with a minimum of humanities bullshit.

The bad:
- Got rejected from MIT :(
- Female relationship mess led to losing a close friend
- Drank more than I should

The badass:
- College life ftw ^_^

Resolutions for 2008:
- Beast Putnam, ACM ICPC, TopCoder, all that stuff
- Get some more girls :)
- Make 08 better than 07

Happy new year all!

HAPPY NEW YEAR TPM!!!

The best year of my life still was 2003, although I kinda liked this, too.

The good:

- Returning to TPM in January, I got a permisson. And yes, I liked this year at TPM. Cool topics, among others War of the Forums, Whack-a-TPMer...
- Games bought, some of which I used to own but got again: Ratchet & Clank, Music Creation For Playstation, Final Fantasy VIII, Playstation 3 + two games, V-Rally, Bomberman World, Nintendo 64 + Pokémon Stadium...
- Began to read new manga, such as Naruto and Yu-Gi-Oh.
- Saw some new beautiful girls who almost made me forget Maarit "Doo ka, Kami-sama kno boku ni, tsubasa kudasai yo!" (How about, God, please give me wings, from Final Fantasy Unlimited ourto VIVD, it just suits here)
- Got new friends

The bad:

- My father died in August
- My Playstation 2 was thrown away
- Finished neither my fanfic nor my comic (the latter not appeared at TPM yet)

And I'd better promise nothing.

3rd January 2008, 05:46 AM
TPM should never be on your good list...:D

RedStarWarrior

Mikachu Yukitatsu
3rd January 2008, 05:55 AM
I got it, but are you serious? I like TPM very much as it is now, not too many posts to read. And every single thing I started here has taught me a lesson. I don't know if I learned anything, though, but for example, I PMed you one idea of a topic and you didn't answer. That made me think about it and I figured out the task was hopeless and I couldn't have managed it.

RedStarWarrior
3rd January 2008, 06:00 AM
I didn't get your PM.

Anyway, I meant that TPM isn't what should be on your good list, but rather the friends you have met here.

Mikachu Yukitatsu
3rd January 2008, 06:05 AM
OK, I think I didn't remember correctly but it wasn't a good idea anyways.

And when I say TPM I mean everyone at here! Way off topic, huh?

Who said I have a personality? Anyway I prolly sound like I'm sad or something. Don't feel that way but after watching meerkat manor one is bound to get sad. All those meerkats dying *cries*. I actually passed courses at uni last year, usually I just don't turn up after a while, I really need to go to bed at a proper time, sleeps affects things which is clear cause I'm always tired. Oh well . Think positive - Hmm you'll be in my dreams redstar though I do prefer my men older thank you very much. lol.

This thread is gay.

2007:

The Good:

- Travelled the world
- Bungee Jump
- Skydive
- Zorb

The Bad:

- Made the error of ordering pork balls in Hong Kong, and then actually being served bollocks
- Being in two car accidents in two weeks, fucking my legs up and ending my rugby career

The Badass:

- Cemented my reputation at Uni for being the meanest, hardest drinker by winning pub golf by a country mile
- Being arrested by the Greek police and subsequently escaping custody and hiding in a Subway shop for a bit before ordering a footlong BMT and wandering back to the hotel

Resolutions for 2008:

- Grow back my body hair that I 'lost' on my birthday
- Pass my exams
- Get more drunk and more hungover and more hospitalised than ever before

Poem I wrote for my ex-classmates.

Gone is the past year, fading fast
Like morning mist on the horizon
From our memories, away from the past,
To the future, to resolution.

Friends, I call out and beg to thee
For blessings, love, to forgive
Our past errors and deeds, and to be
A better person, in this world we live.

So much to say, till a tear I shed,
Many a joy we share together, right here,
From now on, too, I will be glad
To be with you, this merry new year.

- no money
- got into a really bad car accident
- have to go to the chiropractor 3 times a week
- have to go to physical therapy
- no car anymore
- no serious relationship came out of the guys I dated

The BADASS:
- my year was not badass at all.

Actually, yes, I did. From Paihia to Queenstown. Lucky me. Who knows, you might have been ones of the Kiwis I kicked out of the way while yelling, "Out of the way, plebs!" when I went out wearing my top hat and tail and a solid gold cane. And a pipe. And monocle.

I figured as much considering zorb, skydive, bungee pretty much describes NZ, queenstown and rotorua in particularly. Paihia is nice and all but far too touristry (is that a word) for me, much prefer Kerikeri to it. Did you travel through christchurch? Its rather flat and boring isn't it.

Good:
Experance the simple joys in life more then I ever had.
Got a new book shelf.
Show myself that I can do a job....
Was blessed enough to be with the people I care for.
Showed the world I'm a magnificent dicator.
Got free donughts
and a Fly pen.

Bad:
Was crushed.
Found out I'm allerigic to the cleaner my school sparys in the air.
Lost a friend.

Resultuions:

Learn how to spell.
Lose some weight
Do my math homework...on time.
Be with the one I love as much as I can.

...I like kiwis! The birds are soooo cute! And the fruit is yummy ^_^. *rubs my face*

Toxicity
7th January 2008, 08:10 AM
First time I've ever had a post deleted involuntarily. And it was in this thread. o_o

But on a serious, nothing really major has happened yet. Although if it means anything, I finally decided that I'll save my money for a breast reduction and any other surgical retouching if I lose a freakish amount of weight that would require such.

RedStarWarrior
7th January 2008, 08:13 AM
Yeah, yeah. I figured I'd clean a little house. I don't mind the posts, but other mods are getting on my back. I figured I'd do it before they get a smod or admin involved. That would only do more damage to you all...

Toxicity

That's good to hear about the fix and stitch removal.

Typically I don't make resolutions for New Year's, but I figured I'd go with the weight loss since I've been losing for the past few months, probably in relation to the frail health.

The one I'm keeping strongest to is using my creative side to make something productive. This will probably end up in doing a lot of writing for myself/ASBRPG or working with the other forum's admin on new skins.

The Good

-Gots me a maaaaaaan! Admittedly, it was so close to the end of the year I'm not quite sure it counts, lol!
-Met a ton of awesome people in my accommodation, meaning that I am no longer a friendless geek at uni! ^_^
-Cornwall with Vulps at New Year again
-MUSE AT WEMBLEY! Need I say more? Lol!
-Getting back in touch with an oooooold friend (who then became my new man) and having Playstation Thursdays all Summer. That rocked.

The Bad

-Eh, I felt pretty lonely for the majority of the year, but that's over now, so it's all good
-Having to have nearly all of my teeth filled for the first time in EVER. ;_;
-Not sure I can think of more... o.O

The Badass!

-My new man!
-Getting tickets for Radiohead 2008...
-Radiohead's new album (I'm not obsessed or anything... honest ¬_¬)

Resolutions, well, I'm not one to stick to them really, so it's always kinda pointless for me to make them... but lemme see, try and stay off the sugary things, which is very hard for a cake addict like me, but hey, my teeth hurt now.
Oh, and to not use up all my overdraft again, leaving myself with NOTHING. Having no money is not good. Especially not when I'm too proud to ask to borrow, lol.
Oh, and I suppose I'd rather like to pass my 2nd year exams with at least a 2:1. Revision for the Weasel! Bigods!

Hrm, plans for 2008... RADIOHEAD!! Roll on June!! Other than that, I don't really have any. Oh, apart from visiting my boy in Cardiff as often as possible, heh.

No I don't see that in your profile.

I can't see any in my profile? What part of your user CP will they be in, or is that I've been a good boy this Christmas?

They're where your subsribed threads are. You must be a good little boy Heald. How sad I could have spanked you otherwise.

Only while people still believe in it.

Otherwise, I dare you to turn safe-search off in google images and search for goatse.

I'm late, go figure.

The Bad:
~ Too busy
~ Having to deal with *ahem* annoyances...
~ My computer's battery died.

The Good:
~ Getting a wonderful boyfriend, who just happens to also be sexy.
~ Surviving and not getting too sick
~ Taking a trip to Catalina

The Badass:
~ Probably still having a boyfriend
~ Going to my first con

Resolution:
~ Try to finish Divinity!
~Get a new computer
~ Get Dr.McNinja to post in +GATE+ and create an RPG with me.

I still have no idea how to find the infractions category... Maybe I haven't ever committed any? Except for being gay, of course.

One of these days, Heald, I'm going to make a jewel-encrusted golden statue of you, and then beat you senseless with it.

I don't even know what that means...

I think I'd rather give Heald a hug and a big cookie. Maybe that's just because he's valuable to the RPG forum... XD XD
