Hi Again, welcome to TPM Deal or No Deal Version 2. Right now this is the signup period, I will keep the signup period through this weekend, and then the games will start Monday.

Rules:

When a new version of "Deal or No Deal" is posted, signups will take place. Signups will last for at least first 72 hours. (or longer, depending on how long it takes to get at least two participants to sign up. You can register up until I post saying that registration for this version is closed.) After the sign up period, the games will begin!! People will play one at a time until everybody has had a turn. The order that you registered in will not necessarily be the order that you play in. Playing order will be determined using a randomizer, and the entire playing order will be posted upon the closing of registration. I would appreciate it if while you are playing, you make an effort to take no longer than 24-48 hours to respond, to keep the game moving along at a fast enough pace so that others do not become disinterested. After 48 hours have passed, and if no notice has been given for a reason of absence, you may be disqualified for this version, and the next person would then play their game. After everybody that registered for this version has played, the person who made the most money will be the winner, and a new version will be started.

How to Play:

If you have seen "Deal or No Deal" on TV, then you probably will have a pretty good idea of how to play!! Here is how we will play "Deal or No Deal"

There are 26 different "Cases" numbered from 1 through 26. Inside each case is a dollar amount, ranging from $.01 up to $1,000,000. Before each game, using my own "Deal or No Deal" board game, I will randomly place the money amounts in the different cases without looking. I, like you, will have no idea which dollar amount is in each case until you open it. At the start of the game, you will pick which case (number between 1-26) that you want to keep, try to pick the one that you think has the $1,000,000 inside!! This case will be your own personal case, you can either keep it, or sell it to the banker when an offer is made.

After choosing your case, you will have to start opening the other 25 cases. Every case will have a unique money amount inside, so whatever is in the cases that you open can not be inside your case. So, when you start opening cases, you will want to try to open the cases with the lowest amounts inside.

After a certain amount of cases have been open, you will receive an offer from the banker. The banker wants to buy your case from you for as little money as possible. The more high values you have left in the unopened cases, the higher the offer from the banker will be. Your goal is to leave with as much money as you can. Your game ends when you take the deal from the banker, or after you have opened all of the cases in the game, and you take whatever is inside your case. If you do not take any of the offers from the banker, when you get to the point in the game where there is only one unopened case besides your own case, if you turn down the last deal, you may switch your case with the other remaining case.

Here are the number of cases that you have to open in each round before the banker will make an offer to you.

Round 1: 6 Cases.
Round 2: 5 Cases.
Round 3: 4 Cases.
Round 4: 3 Cases.
Round 5: 2 Cases.
Round 6: 1 Case.
Round 7: 1 Case.
Round 8: 1 Case.
Round 9: 1 Case. (Final Round)

One last rule: To keep the game moving at a quick enough pace, when you are playing the early rounds (Rounds 1 through 5) and have to pick multiple cases, pick all of them in one post, because other people will be waiting their turn, and it could be a lengthy game since we are not playing in real-time. For the first round, with your first post after the game starts, you may pick the case that you want to keep, as well as the 6 cases that you want to open.

Winners will have their name added to the Deal or No Deal Hall of Fame, which will be posted starting with Version 2.

Finally, here are the boards that will be posted. I will post them after you finish each round. The dollar values and case numbers that are highlighted in yellow are the ones that are still in play. Also, I will post the previous offers that you have received from your earlier rounds.

I didn't sign up immediately because games of chance aren't my thing. But I did sign up anyways for the last version. I am signing up for this version as well.

Number1ChanseyFan
20th February 2008, 05:20 PM
Ok, it is time to start the game up!! We have 4 people competing this round... to determine play order, each of you were assigned a number based on the order that you registered, and a randomizer determined your playing order. Here is the play order for Version 2.

1. Inferno_Dragon
2. Crazy Elf Boy
3. Dark-San
4. mr_pikachu

So... Inferno_Dragon, you are the first contestant for this version. The 26 cases have their random dollar values placed inside, so anytime you are ready, you may pick your case, the case that you can keep until the end of the game, or if you wish, you can sell it off to the banker. After you choose your case, we will begin to open the other cases, you will have to open 6 cases to receive your first offer. Good luck!!

Inferno_Dragon
20th February 2008, 05:23 PM
Okay, I will choose case 7 (I don't believe in lucky but maybe a lucky number will help me.)

And I will choose cases 8,1,26,4,10, and 3.

Number1ChanseyFan
20th February 2008, 05:37 PM
Case 7 is now yours to keep or to sell, let's hope that 7 turns out to be your lucky number!!

Here are the results or your first 6 cases:

Case 8: $25,000
Case 1: $10,000
Case 26: $25
Case 4: $50,000
Case 10: $75
Case 3: $750,000

Overall you had a pretty good first round. One of the huge prizes is now gone, but you still kept 6 of those top 7 big values in play, including the million!!

The first offer is going to be for $52,000. If you do not take this deal, you will have to open 5 more cases before getting another offer.

Case 20: $300

One more huge case gone, but overall, still a very solid round. The million still remains in play, as well as 4 of the other 6 huge amounts.

The offer is now $74,000. If you say no to this deal, you will have to open up 4 more cases before another offer is made.

I can't help but notice that you haven't opened any cases in the 14-19 row, is that just coincidence or do you just have a feeling that there are some big cases in that row? Whatever it is, it seems to be working pretty well so far, let's see if it carries over into this round.

Case 23: $1
Case 5: $.01
Case 12: $75,000

This has easily been you best round so far. You have eliminated the bottom 2 amounts this round, and didn't open any of the big amounts.

The offer is now up to $136,000. If you do not take this deal, you will have to open up 2 more cases to receive another offer.

Last time, I decided to say No Deal, when the offer was a 6 Digit Number, I choose a couple more cases, the next deal was lower. Well I am going to that same choice again. (It might be stupid but I am having fun here.) As for my number choices, it is just random.

So no Deal, I will choose cases 22 and 19.

Number1ChanseyFan
21st February 2008, 10:57 PM
Hopefully things will turn out better for you this time, and your offer will continue going up!!

Case 22: $100,000
Case 19: $400

Yet another very good round. $100,000 is now gone, but you still kept the other huge prizes in play, and you maintained the 50/50 chance that you have at least a 6-figure amount in your own case. Once again, your offer has increased

The offer is now for $175,000. You are now at the point in the game where cases only have to be opened up one at a time for the rest of this game.

Ok, best of luck to you, hopefully you keep that million dollar case in play!!

Case 14 has $300,000 inside.

$300,000 is now gone... this hurts a little bit, but at least the million is still in play, and there is still a 2 in 5 chance that you have either $200,000 or a million in your case.

The offer is now for $182,000.

You are definitely playing a very gutsy game, with so few cases remaining, and knowing that the next best thing if the million dollar case is opened is the $200,000 case. I hope that you have chosen a good case!!

Case 18 has $500 inside!!

Only one amount remains on the left side of the board, and you have now gotten back to the 50/50 chance of having a very big prize inside of your case. Again, like every round so far this game, the offer has increased.

Now, the offer is at $248,000.

Number1ChanseyFan
22nd February 2008, 09:35 PM
Ok, let's hope that you have made a good choice in pressing on, hopefully the million dollar case stays in play.

Case 16 has... $200,000.

The good news here is that you have kept the million dollar case in play. The bad news is now you have no safety net, nothing to fall back on if you continue on, and open the million dollar case... although there is a 1 in 3 chance that you do have a million dollars inside your case. However, like every other round so far this game, the offer has gone up.

The offer is now up to $313,000.

XD I have to admit, I am a little surprised that you are continuing to go on after that last offer.

Case 15 has... $5,000 inside!!

So, it has come down to this... 2 cases left, one holding $10, the other a million. Think carefully about this next offer. If you don't take this offer, you will have the choice of keeping your own case, or trading it in for case 17.

The offer is now for $501,000.

As much as I want to continue, I don't think I can. Sure, my case could have million dollars in it but it is hard to find out. If the 200,000 dollars were still in play, I might have decided to open my case but right now, it is too risky. So Deal, I am taking the offer and walking away.

(Let's hope that I didn't make the wrong decision.)

Number1ChanseyFan

Yes, it is very hard to blame you for taking the deal, you have definitely played a terrific game. Now, it is time to find out if you made a good deal, or if you could have possibly have become the first millionaire...

Your case had $10 inside!! The million dollar case was case 17. So, you made a very good deal, and it was definitely a good idea that you took the deal when you did!!

Crazy Elf Boy, it is now your turn to pick a case, this case will be yours to keep, or to sell. After picking your case, you will have to open 6 cases to receive your first offer... good luck!!

Ok, good luck to you, we just had a very big winner this last game, hopefully the money board will stay hot and you will also be a big winner.

Case 4: $5
Case 9: $10,000
Case 12: $200,000
Case 15: $50,000
Case 21: $100
Case 24: $25

You are off to a very good start, the highest amount that you opened was $200,000.

The first offer will be for $65,000. If you do not take this deal, you will have to open up 5 more cases before another offer will be made.

I had something come up today, so I may or may not be around for a few days, just letting everybody know so that they don't think that I forgot about the game or anything.

Good job, this was a very good round for you, and a nice bounce back from the previous round. You are going to receive your highest offer this game!!

Ok, good luck to you, now it is the point in the game where every case is becoming more important than the last one, keeping the large amounts in play will guarantee that the offers continue to grow.

Case 25 has... $500,000

Another large case is gone, fortunately the largest of the remaining cases, $750,000, is still in play. The odds are in your favor now that you will open some small cases if you continue, but it would be disastrous if that last large amount is opened.

The offer is now $111,000

Question: Is there a time limit or anything on play? Not that I want to penalize CEB or anything, but seeing as I'm still in the queue...

Give him time. I had message him via MSN.

In any case, I am the next one that is suppose to participate. So it would be a long time before you can take part. ^.^

Sorry, sorry, sorry

I will just take the deal to get the game moving

Dark-San

Since CEB had taken the deal, my guess is that I would start the ball rowing first instead of having to wait for Christen and also to keep Brian on his toes.

For my case chosen, I would be picking up case 18. Don't asked me any questions on why am I chosing case 18 again. It is not because CEB had taken the same case earlier, nor is it that I had chosen case 18 in the first version of the game. The reason is more towards the fact that 18 happens to be my lucky number, along with 9.

As for the case to be taken off the board, let us go with the following numbers.

3,8,13,20,24,26
