View Full Version : <game> Pokemon Letters Version 1 <Approved by TML>

Fett One
8th September 2008, 10:17 AM
In this game, the first poster posts a pokemon (e.g. Charizard) and the next poster has to post the name of a pokemon that starts with the last letter of the previous pokemon. Since Charizard ends in "d" the next person would go with Ditto and then the next would go with Octillery, and etc.

Remember to follow the rules of PCG. Lets begin:

Blaziken

Finally, a simple-yet-addictive game.

Legendary fire/flying pokemon oh my god isn't it beautiful and Fett One I love your games ^_^

Seaking.

Any rules on the "minimum words per post," or anything like that?

firepokemon
8th September 2008, 08:53 PM
Golem

Surely it will be like any other game on PCG. Limited to four posts per day and typically one does not post again until two others have. And thus in making this post I have broken the rules. But I'm sure there can be exemption since we're discussing rules and the likes.

Edit: As per minimum words, I say make people do a sentence since that isn't hard but you're not making it so you make a bunch of text and is largely just spam.

classy_cat18

Metang.

Fett One
8th September 2008, 09:36 PM
mr_pikachu, I never gave that any thought. I guess a three word minium should surfice.

firepokemon, glad to see you're liking them.

I recall this game from like.... 7 years ago?

Articuno

Bow before the Finnish winter!!

firepokemon
8th September 2008, 11:45 PM
Hmm and I will go with the ugliest pokemon ever, well maybe second ugliest. Since its evolution is OMFG so ugly. And that thing shall be:

Onix

Blademaster
8th September 2008, 11:50 PM
The options are pretty limited here...

Xatu.

Mikachu Yukitatsu
9th September 2008, 12:00 AM
Ursaring

I noticed there are surprisingly many Pokemon other than Onix that end with x, so I ask can we mention the same Pokemon twice or do we have to avoid names like Onix in the first place?

shazza
9th September 2008, 01:03 AM
Golem. :076:

We should post emoticons of the pokemon instead of the names! Although there are no D/P and perhaps even RSE emoticons.

Test: :252: :278:

Knight of Time
9th September 2008, 08:46 AM
Ironically, I remember seeing icons of the newer Pokemon on Psypokes, shazza, but it's doubtful they can be used here, that reminds me, isn't Blue Tonberry (formerly from TPM) on that site?

Okay, for the next Pokemon, I'm going to say Magnezone, because to me it slightly reminds me of an alien.

Fett One, should we only have Pokemon names mentioned once in this topic, and subsequently in any future versions of this game? I'm thinking this might get more complicated as more and more posts are made.

Drago
9th September 2008, 09:20 AM
:125: Electabuzz, aka the ridiculous-looking electric critter that got a ridiculous-looking pre-evo followed by a ridiculous-looking evolution.

classy_cat18
9th September 2008, 11:44 AM
Zubat, the Pokemon that I only trained because I really wanted a Crobat (and I didn't want to catch a Golbat).

Blademaster
9th September 2008, 02:10 PM
Teddiursa.

Fett One
9th September 2008, 07:37 PM
shazza, we use to play this years ago. I just remembered it the other day so I asked to restart it.

We can reuse the same pokemon. Just don't make a habit out of using the same pokemon over and over. In other words don't say "Teddiursa" every single time a "t" comes up.

Knight of Time

Hmm, I don't think I remember this game from TPM's past, but meh, it's always nice to see an old game getting a revival.

Mr. Mime

Mikachu Yukitatsu
9th September 2008, 11:03 PM
I evolve DragoKnight's Pokemon.

Electivire

mr_pikachu

Electrode. Shall we keep the E streak going?

10th September 2008, 12:35 AM
Sure, why not.

Electrike. Cute electric doggie.

shazza
10th September 2008, 09:41 AM
Eevee. :love2:

Lady Vulpix
10th September 2008, 09:42 AM
It was here many years ago, Kyle.

I prefer the backwards version, but meh... Whatever people want to play will do (as long as it's not offensive nor blatant SPAM).

Eevee

Green Lanturn
10th September 2008, 11:24 AM
Nice job on the double posting of eevee....and it wasnt THAT long ago that it was here, i mean, i dont think ive been here for THAT long and even I remember playing this game.....actually come to think about it, around 8 years does sound about right....daaaammmnnn....

Hmm, keeping the E streak going, cant do it without repeating, so lets move on, how about:

Entei (RRRRRRRRRRAAAAAAAAAWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWRRRRRRRRRRRRR!. ...i so disliked the 3rd movie, although it was nice seeing a teddiursa and mantine battle)

~GL

Knight of Time
10th September 2008, 11:29 AM
Hmm, I is a tough starting letter for a Pokemon here, but nonetheless..

Illumise

Blademaster
10th September 2008, 06:51 PM
Might as well finish the line...

Elekid.

Fett One
10th September 2008, 07:34 PM
That was a lot of E's

Dragoniar

Knight of Time
10th September 2008, 08:09 PM
Hmm, I think maybe another electric type will fit the bill here.

Raichu

Blademaster
10th September 2008, 08:13 PM
Hard to raise, hard to train, hard to beat.

The elusive Umbreon would fit in this spot quite nicely.

Fett One
10th September 2008, 09:07 PM
Next up is Nidoking

mr_pikachu
10th September 2008, 10:13 PM
Girafarig, just to put the burden on someone else. :sweat2:

Blademaster
10th September 2008, 10:44 PM
Girafarig... A Pokemon that mirrors itself.

I'll mirror your mirror with the Pokemon that mirrors shadows: the great and ghastly GENGAR! :094:

shazza
10th September 2008, 10:47 PM
Rapidash man, rapidash.

Mikachu Yukitatsu
10th September 2008, 11:38 PM
I remembered only the Japanese name at first but hopefully you forgive me because it has only two more letters in the middle of the word.

Hariyama.

mr_pikachu
10th September 2008, 11:45 PM
Shall I pass the buck to someone else again?

Abra.

Blademaster
10th September 2008, 11:55 PM
A Psychic-type, eh?

I think a Bug like ARMALDO can handle that...

Mikachu Yukitatsu
11th September 2008, 12:43 AM
I don't know why these ones are so cute, I love this and its evolutions:

Oddish.

Lady Vulpix
11th September 2008, 06:50 AM
Wow, Shazza and I both came up with Eevee at the same time!

Ariados

Knight of Time
11th September 2008, 07:23 AM
Well, for anyone who likes taking a walk through a forest, this one's for you.

Sceptile

Fett One
11th September 2008, 08:33 PM
I never realized that Girafarig is spelled the same forwards and backwards. Thanks for pointing that out Blademaster.

Empoleon

mr_pikachu
11th September 2008, 09:59 PM
This is becoming my niche... Nidoqueen.

Mikachu Yukitatsu
11th September 2008, 11:21 PM
I follow the suit.

Nidoran.

Or should I say Nidoran male or pehaps Nidoran female or something?

shazza
12th September 2008, 02:51 AM
Let's assume you meant Nidoran male because I'm going Nidoran female!

Knight of Time
12th September 2008, 08:38 AM
Ooh, sneaky, sneaky shazza.

Might as well keep up the Nidos, with...

Nidoking

Blademaster
12th September 2008, 10:16 AM
Nidoking is a fearsome Ground type, but not as fearsome as the Legendary GROUDON!

shazza
12th September 2008, 10:33 AM
I always had a crush on Nidorina.

Knight of Time
12th September 2008, 11:19 AM
XD, a human having a crush on a Pokemon, that's a good one.

Well, I think I'm going to bring up our favourite disaster Pokemon now, Absol.

classy_cat18
12th September 2008, 11:50 AM
And my favorite Fighting type, Lucario!

Blademaster
12th September 2008, 11:51 AM
EDIT: I've been interrupted?! Unacceptable! Your Lucario will be PWNED by my OMASTAR!

shazza
12th September 2008, 11:58 AM
Pretty sure Raikou will rape that motherfucker.

Knight of Time
12th September 2008, 12:31 PM
A super fast ground type could trump your choice, shazza, but an Earthquake used by an Ursaring can too.

Fett One
12th September 2008, 06:52 PM
Earthquake won't do much good against Gliscor

mr_pikachu
12th September 2008, 06:58 PM
How about the brand new evolutionary add-on, Rhyperior.

Blademaster
12th September 2008, 11:03 PM
Rhyperior is slow and bulky, but against a wimp like RATTATA, it's unstoppable.

Mikachu Yukitatsu
12th September 2008, 11:29 PM
I choose you! Go!

Aipom.

firepokemon
13th September 2008, 01:26 AM
From Aipom we go smaller and ultimately cuter. Minus it is ^_)^

Knight of Time
13th September 2008, 09:40 AM
Okay, here's one for you, firepokemon, your electric type is about to get trumped.

Numel.

Blademaster
13th September 2008, 09:52 AM
Just as your Fire-type is about to be washed out by my LAPRAS.

Fett One
13th September 2008, 04:51 PM
Lapras isn't much of a match for skuntank

Knight of Time
13th September 2008, 08:00 PM
A Skuntank better watch out if it tumbles into an outback-type area, as they wouldn't want to cross an angry kangaroo, aka...

Kangaskhan.

Blademaster
13th September 2008, 09:12 PM
Kangaskhan is helpless against the mesmerizing nine tails of Ninetales.

firepokemon
13th September 2008, 11:46 PM
Hmm Ninetales. I dated a Ninetales he added the number 3001, we got married on tpm forums and he cosplayed as shoujo characters. He was a freak, but my freak for two silly years. He lost his weight, he stopped his cosplaying no longer could he be the flamboyant Ninetales and so off he went into the world and Ninetales therefore was now gone.

And he flies and shimmer into the sky for now Scyther appears to all.

Drago
13th September 2008, 11:57 PM

Ahh the old pairing of Nine and fp. Nostalgia for the win! And speaking of nostalgia, nothing does the trick quite like an ancient old Relicanth, now does it? (Don't think it's been done yet, I looked in the search engine...)

Fett One
14th September 2008, 12:01 AM
Hitmontop shouldn't have a problem against relicanth

Mikachu Yukitatsu
14th September 2008, 12:18 AM
I'll post a Pokemon that everyone knows, perhaps even if they haven't played or watched Pokemon.

Pikachu

Shadow Wolf
14th September 2008, 08:34 PM
I'll pick one of the new legendaries: Uxie

Fett One
14th September 2008, 11:08 PM
elekid seems like a good choice

classy_cat18
14th September 2008, 11:24 PM
Dodrio doesn't stand a chance.

EDIT: Omanyte.

Ja niin Omanyte sanoi hyvästit ystävilleen ja päätti vielä kerran palata koska hänen elämänsä oli muuttunut tuolla saarella.
And so Omanyte said farewell to her friends and decided to return once because her life had changed on that island.

From the Finnish dub of the episode Pokemon Scent-Station.

EDIT2: And in case someone is wondering, I said Dialga first but classy_cat18 posted before me. Sorry, everyone!

mr_pikachu
14th September 2008, 11:29 PM
Time to chain A's again with Altaria.

EDIT: Oh, come on! Editing it to a different Pokemon and a different letter...

:/

Electrike.

Blademaster
14th September 2008, 11:35 PM
Exeggutor.

Mikachu Yukitatsu
14th September 2008, 11:39 PM
Sorry mr_pikachu, I wasn't fast enough so I had to change the Pokemon.

Ralts.

Knight of Time
15th September 2008, 01:58 PM
A Ralts may find itself in a bit of a jam if it ended up in battle against a Spiritomb.

Blademaster
15th September 2008, 04:28 PM
Spiritomb is a spooky Pokemon... But if it is identified, BRELOOM will beat it down pretty darn fast.

Shadow Wolf
15th September 2008, 05:03 PM
The tiny Magby can handle things here.

Knight of Time
15th September 2008, 05:07 PM
Well, seeing as only one of two Pokemon can come next, I'm going to go with the one that is already evolved.

Yanmega.

Blademaster
15th September 2008, 06:03 PM
Yanmega will get nothing but the cold shoulder from ABOMASNOW.

Fett One
15th September 2008, 06:13 PM
Lets see how well it deals with Wheezing

Knight of Time
15th September 2008, 08:19 PM
A Weezing (just correcting you there, Fett One) may have the ability to float, but it can be beaten quickly by a certain Pokemon using Psychic, that is resistant to poison moves.

Gengar.

Blademaster
16th September 2008, 12:40 AM
Will Gengar be able to hold its ground against the beautiful-yet-deadly Roselia?

mr_pikachu
16th September 2008, 12:43 AM
Poison-types can't stand up to the Psychic Abra.

The_Missing_Link
16th September 2008, 12:52 AM
Neither could they stand up to its fully evolved form, Alakazam

Blademaster
16th September 2008, 05:19 AM
Alakazam's spoons are rendered useless by the electromagnetic powers of MAGNETON.

DarkestLight
16th September 2008, 06:15 AM
o.O Maggy's slow. Ninjask 4TW

Lady Vulpix
16th September 2008, 08:30 AM
Ninjask may be fast but, when it rains, Kingdra's faster.

Knight of Time
16th September 2008, 08:48 AM
A Kingdra may be a formidable Pokemon, but an Altaria would be quite an opponent to fight.

Fett One
16th September 2008, 07:24 PM
Altaria is no match for the icy powers of Articuno

Shadow Wolf
16th September 2008, 09:58 PM
That one can easily take down an Oddish.

Blademaster
16th September 2008, 11:23 PM
Oddish will be fodder for the vicious HOUNDOOM.

Fett One
17th September 2008, 06:59 PM
Unfortunately as a dark type it's no match for a machamp

mr_pikachu
17th September 2008, 07:02 PM
Porygon2 owns everything!

So. Do I score a point, or something?

Knight of Time
17th September 2008, 08:58 PM
Hey, no fair!

Since the last letter (numbers shouldn't count) was an N, I'm going to go for...

Nincada

Blademaster
18th September 2008, 02:15 AM
"2" ("Two") ends with an "o," so...

Octillery.

Fett One
18th September 2008, 11:05 AM
Sorry Blademaster but it ends with the number 2 not the word two so KoT was right to go with N. As such we will continue with his answer so,

abra

mr_pikachu
18th September 2008, 02:30 PM
Aww...

Altaria.

Knight of Time
18th September 2008, 06:27 PM
Altaria again...

Well, they may have a type advantage over the next one I'm about to post, but this one has a stronger type advantage over it.

Abomasnow.

Fett One
18th September 2008, 08:15 PM
Wobbuffet should be able to counter that

firepokemon
18th September 2008, 09:25 PM
Hmm and out comes toxics magical powers and in comes Tentacruel to do delicious damage.

Mikachu Yukitatsu
18th September 2008, 10:51 PM
Lileep is strange enough for me to pick.

Blademaster
19th September 2008, 05:34 AM
Lileep is pretty puny compared to the supersonic PIDGEOT.

Fett One
19th September 2008, 08:20 PM
Tyranitar can easily win with a rockslide

Mikachu Yukitatsu
21st September 2008, 11:16 PM
My ROTOM has so much experience that it beats Fett One's Tyranitar regardless of type disadvantages.

See? I commented with a Pokemon battle too?

mr_pikachu
22nd September 2008, 04:11 AM
Mothim.

...I didn't comment with a Pokemon battle. Take that, establishment!

Knight of Time
22nd September 2008, 09:27 AM
A Mothim will quickly get its goose cooked if it picks a battle with a Magmortar.

Blademaster
22nd September 2008, 12:23 PM
Magmortar is fierce, but RAICHU is no slouch, either.

Fett One
22nd September 2008, 07:39 PM
A Uxie should be able to hold it's own

Knight of Time
22nd September 2008, 08:26 PM
An Uxie may be a legendary, but it better be careful around an Electivire.

Mikachu Yukitatsu
22nd September 2008, 11:04 PM
Empoleon is cool. Makes me envy Antarctica. There are no penguins in Finland.

mr_pikachu
23rd September 2008, 12:13 AM
Nidoran♀. You go, girl.

firepokemon
23rd September 2008, 06:35 AM
Noctowl would seem to be more male one would think.

Blademaster
23rd September 2008, 09:06 AM
Noctowl is wise, stoic, capable of flight...

It almost seems like the polar opposite of LUDICOLO.

Fett One
23rd September 2008, 07:22 PM
Octillery being a water type gives it a partial relation to LUDICOLO

Mikachu Yukitatsu
24th September 2008, 08:34 AM
You perhaps thought I would bring on an evolved Pokemon, but my Pokemon is...

Yanma.

firepokemon
25th September 2008, 07:29 AM
Alakazam teleports over the Honey Trees.

Knight of Time
25th September 2008, 07:30 AM
An Alakazam may be a tough Psychic type, but Mewtwo is even tougher.

Blademaster
25th September 2008, 03:36 PM
Mewtwo is very intelligent, but it pales in comparison to the ageless wisdom of an OMANYTE.

Fett One
25th September 2008, 08:42 PM
Omanyte can standup to the power of Electabuzz

Mikachu Yukitatsu
27th September 2008, 11:36 PM
My first Pokemon in this game was one, and now I bring on another old legendary bird.

Zapdos.

Knight of Time
28th September 2008, 01:52 PM
A Zapdos is certainly one of my all-time favourite legendary Pokemon, but being part Electric, their Electric moves do nothing against a Sandslash.

Fett One
28th September 2008, 03:53 PM

firepokemon
28th September 2008, 10:41 PM

Mikachu Yukitatsu
28th September 2008, 11:32 PM
Metapod was first introduced in the third anime episode Ash Catches a Pokemon.

Blademaster
29th September 2008, 01:30 PM
Metapod can Harden all it wants - the Special Attack power of DARKRAI will destroy it regardless.

Fett One
29th September 2008, 09:08 PM
Darkrai is no match for Igglybuff sing attack

Mikachu Yukitatsu
29th September 2008, 11:35 PM
Farfetch'd doesn't feel sleepy.

Blademaster
29th September 2008, 11:51 PM
It will once DEWGONG finishes blasting it with frigid cold.

Knight of Time
30th September 2008, 11:55 AM
A Dewgong is not particularly fast, so a powerful attack from a Grovyle could KO it fast.

Fett One
30th September 2008, 08:23 PM
Grovyle can't standup to the poisnous might of Ekans

Green Lanturn
2nd October 2008, 10:25 AM
But can poisenous Ekans do anything against the mighty Seviper!?

~GL

Blademaster
2nd October 2008, 02:47 PM
Seviper... a poisonous Pokemon. RHYPERIOR should be able to handle that nicely.

Fett One
2nd October 2008, 08:20 PM
Registeel can easily win against Rhyperior

firepokemon
3rd October 2008, 06:19 AM
Bah Registeel is eww, not sure it can beat it but Lapras is a far better pokemon.

Knight of Time
3rd October 2008, 09:00 AM
A Lapras may be a tough Pokemon to take down, but a Sceptile can bring one down.

Fett One
3rd October 2008, 09:01 PM
Unfortunately Sceptile is no match for Entei

Mikachu Yukitatsu
3rd October 2008, 11:01 PM
Igglypuff owns them all in cuteness.

Green Lanturn
4th October 2008, 10:29 AM
Feraligatr would chew it :)

~GL

Knight of Time
4th October 2008, 11:39 AM
A Feraligatr would get a shock it would never forget if it messed with a Raikou.

Blademaster
4th October 2008, 06:02 PM
Raikou would get quite a shock itself if it encountered an UNOWN. :o

mr_pikachu
4th October 2008, 06:03 PM
Nidoran♂ is the dude with the 'tude.

Fett One
4th October 2008, 08:58 PM
Nidoran can't do much against nincada

Blademaster
4th October 2008, 11:29 PM
Nincada... actually has a good chance against AZELF.

Mikachu Yukitatsu
5th October 2008, 12:24 AM
Forretress evolved in an episode skipped in Finland if I remember correctly, so it's a special Pokemon to me.

Green Lanturn
5th October 2008, 01:54 AM
Forretress is always a pokemon I considered having on my team...another one was Salamence.

~GL

Knight of Time
5th October 2008, 08:25 AM
A Salamence may be a very strong Pokemon, but one powerful Ice attack from an Empoleon will spell a quick knockout.

Fett One
5th October 2008, 08:16 PM
Nidoking for no particular reason

Blademaster
6th October 2008, 04:31 PM
GARCHOMP VS. Nidoking... That'd be a pretty intense fight.

Knight of Time
6th October 2008, 04:48 PM
A Garchomp is another one of the stronger final form Pokemon, but they can't stand up easily to a Pelipper.

Fett One
6th October 2008, 06:41 PM
Lets see how well pelliper can handle a thunderbolt from raichu

Mikachu Yukitatsu
6th October 2008, 11:23 PM
To know the Unown!

firepokemon
11th October 2008, 05:54 AM
Noctowl uses its psychic powers.

Green Lanturn
11th October 2008, 10:34 AM
meh, Lombre seems in such a silly mood that psychic powers might not affect him,lol....

~GL

Knight of Time
18th October 2008, 07:47 PM
A Lombre may not have too many weaknesses, but being a Water type, an Electivire still can do good damage to one in battle.

Fett One
18th October 2008, 11:09 PM
Electric attacks won't do much good as exeggutor
