Yes. Wikipedia is gold.

I love just finding out about anything and everything, and even the weirdest of articles.

So I thought maybe you should share some of the weird and interesting things you can find about on Wikipedia :)

Here are some I looked up (don't ask why):

Rickrolld http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rick_roll

List of Internet Phenomena http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Internet_phenomena

Mi Goreng Noodles http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mi_goreng

Yeah ^__^;

Everything is within 6 clicks of Hitler.

Prove me wrong: click random page, then try to get to Hitler is less than 6 clicks.

My personal maximum is 4 clicks.

My favorite is the monster page, where they list all the mythological monsters. *nod*

Heald you are a legend.

Ghost's first attempt at Heald's challenge:
I was directed to Carcinoma's Angels, a short story about Cancer. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Carcinoma_Angels

From here I was lead to the page on Cancer. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cancer

From Cancer, i was lead to a Page about World War 2. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/World_War_II

From the Page on World War II, I was lead directly to the man himself, Adolf Hitler. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Adolf_Hitler

In total, 4 clicks.

Ghost's Second Attempt at Heald's Challenge:

Random Leads to Margherita of Savoy:http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Margherita_of_Savoy

Margherita of Savoy leads to Maria Caroline of Austria: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Marie_Caroline_of_Austria

Marie Caroline of Austria leads to German Language: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/German_language

German Language leads to Germany: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Germany

Germany leads to Hitler: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Adolf_Hitler

Ghost's third attempt at Heald's Challenge

Random leads to Adolf Hitler: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Adolf_Hitler

XD
-----------------------

I give up and state that what Heald is saying is indeed a fact, for I don't have far enough time to scour and try to prove a counter-example.

Agreed though, I love Wikipedia.

It's just clicking on other articles, right?

Because if it was the related articles link that would be much harder.

Ooh, there's an idea.

Kevin Bacon (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kevin_Bacon) > United States (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/United_States) > World War II (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/World_War_II) > Adolf Hitler (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Adolf_Hitler)

I'm not a /b/tard. I just steal a lot of their shit. Random board, Random God. It seems to fit.

As an example, I'll steal something from them right now. Ahem...

"Rules 1 and 2 only apply to RAIDS. gb2gaia newfag"

I'm pretty sure I did that right.

^I tried to reapply Heald's Godwinian theory with Mario; the first random article I got was 'Command and control (military).' It lead to Hitler in 4 posts. It took 9 to get to Mario the first time, and 7 the second time.

Well, maybe some things not as popular as Mario (in the Wikipedia sense of things) would be able to apply to this, but I've made it from a pueblan god to Michael Jordan. It's just a matter of looking in the right places

Random -> Parade of the Award Nominees (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Parade_of_the_Award_Nominees)

Quite promising XD. From there, the closest I managed to find was 5 clicks:

-> Academy Awards -> Academy Award for Best Picture -> Saving Private Ryan -> World War II -> Hitler
or
-> Academy Awards -> Academy Award for Best Picture -> Schindler's List -> Holocaust -> Hitler
or
-> Academy Awards -> Academy Award for Best Foreign Language Film -> List_of Academy Award winners and nominees for Best Foreign Language Film -> Downfall -> Hitler
or
-> Academy Awards -> Academy Award for Documentary Feature -> Black Fox: The Rise and Fall of Adolf Hitler (which surprisingly doesn't link to Hitler) -> Nazi Germany -> Hitler

Strangely I can't find anything closer. Anybody else have anything?

Should we change the name of this topic to "The Nth Degrees of Adolf Hitler" and move it into PCG?

Anyhow, getting back on the original topic, yeah, Wikipedia is cool! :D (That list of Internet Phenomenon - the older versions more so - helped me discover many memes and stuff!)

I, too, heart Wikipedia. It's a great outlet for both my band geekiness and my grammar Nazism. When I went to the Abraham Lincoln library for a class, the head librarian would only refer to it as "the Wikipedia." It's still an in-joke for a few of us nerds.

Jeff

I still don't get why some people refer to it as "the" Wikipedia. Wikipedia is the name of the site. No one refers to this place as "the" Pokémasters. Oh wait, nevermind...
