Quick question about fossils...

Okay, I'm playing Platinum and I'm spamming the underground for all it's worth while waiting on some other stuff to happen. I've found a few Armor Fossils so far, but no Skull Fossils. Both are in the game, right? Otherwise I have a somewhat annoying problem...

I was having the same problem, but I just found out witch fossil you find depends on if you have a even trainer ID number or an odd one. You get the Armor Fossil with an even ID, Skull with an odd one.

Okay, but do I get only that fossil, or does the other one appear with a lesser appearance rate (in other words, in my case, Armor is uncommon and Skull would be super-rare)? If I'm only getting Armor, then I'll have to do some digging in Diamond...

The book I got says you either get one or the other, not both. It sucks, I know... It's a good thing I got Diamond too.
