Argh!! Salamence!!! Why????

Does it seem really stupid to anyone else that Salamance, the Ru/Sa equivilent to Dragonite, cannot learn any elemental moves besides Flamethrower? No Ice Beam, no Thunderbolt, no Surf or Water Surge... ARGH! Wasn't that one of the huge appeals of dragons from previous games? I think I'm gonna give up on a Salamence... but what should I exchange him with? Or should I keep him?

Salamence's got really good base stats, which means he is very strong. I've never raised him before, so I dont know about the moves but cant you teach TMs to it? (ice beam, etc..)

Nope. Sorry, I should have made that clear in my rant. The only elemental TM he can learn is Flamethrower. Ice Beam, T-bolt, Surf... all are beyond Salemence's reach. :(

Actually, instead of focusing on the elemental attacks, why not foucs on his massive physical attack? Dragondance/EQ/Aerial Ace/ dragonclaw or Brick Break.
