You know.. there is that film that comes around every year or so, it sneaks in under the radar and as the summer begins you have no clue about it as all the big name movies overshadow it. And then it blind sides you, a great film that makes you want more when you leave the theaters. There are very few films in which I can say I left the theater wanting more, in recent history its been Star Trek, Iron Man, and Casino Royale.

I can add Zombieland to that list.

I for one hate gory horror movies, I can't stand the Saw movies, and the Dawn of the Dead series never really interested me. I saw the trailers for this film and laughed, and when I heard there was some major Ghostbusters stuff in it, I decided to take a chance. I am so glad I did.

Love the comedy in it, love the cameo and the Ghostbusters stuff, each character is loveable in their own way. Especially Woody Harrelson, who knew the dorky guy from Cheers could become one of if not the ultimate Zombie Killing badasses.

So what is this movie about? It's basically narrated by Jesse Eisenberg a dorky loser who spends his nights playing WoW and juced on Mountain Dew Code Red soda. He ends up trying to find his way back to his home town even though he never liked his parents. He also has several rules to stay alive, and the film uses some very clever FX imagery to remind you of the rules. Along the way he meets a Zombie Killing bad ass trying to escape a horrible event from his past, and two sisters who are trying to go to a Disney Land knock off theme park to recapture their youth.

While there are some scares in this movie, and ALOT of gore and violence, this movie pretty much boils down to family, and how these bunch of misfits began to come together as one. The Zombies are more cannon fodder than anything else, they exist to die, how they got that way and the chance of them actually killing any of the characters is pretty much nil outside of one or two scenes in the movie.

Anyway who has seen it, and those who have not seen it. SEE IT NOW!

Do not how ever go in expecting a Zombie Horror movie where the characters are going to die at any moment. In here the characters almost never feel like they are outmatched, or that the Zombies are anything more than bullet... or car door magnets.

So Zombieland: A+ in my book.

Edit: If you are a fan of the movie Caddyshack, stay after the credits, if you havn't seen the movie, don't bother
