It’s the height of summer, and you finally receive what you’ve been waiting for- a letter from the Indigo Plateau Pokemon League! Inside, you have your acceptance to the most prestigious high school in the area, Lapras Valley High. Some will come from high ranking families, some come from nowhere. All are expected to become the best of the best. After months of testing and competition, you have been chosen to join the cream of the crop. You now have a chance to go directly towards the top. What will you make of it?

Late sign ups go here (http://www.pokemasters.net/forums/showthread.php?t=19932) for approval.

The Towers:
Each is comprised of four floors, the first being a common area including kitchen and laundry room. The second floor is made up of the girls’ rooms, and the same for boys on the third. The fourth floor is another common area with pool table, couches, a TV, and coffee tables. Each tower is decorated in its own colors; red and light grey for Flaria, blue and sea green for Aquaria, deep green and light brown for Solaria, and yellow and white for Joltaria.

Towers will be assigned after your sign up is approved. If you'd like to get an idea of how that works, the last LVH topic can be found here (http://www.pokemasters.net/forums/showthread.php?t=16415).

Lapras Valley High sits on a slight hill, its back to the ocean, and surrounded on two opposing sides by barely disturbed forest. A high wall surrounds the grounds, broken only by the front gate, rear gate to the beach, and a western gate into the surrounding forest. Parking for faculty/staff is to the west of the drive leading to the school, and parking for students/visitors is to the east, both just inside the main gate. The grounds itself includes one large building, the school proper, with towers at the four corners that make up the students’ dormitories. To the west of the main building are tennis and basketball courts; to the north, an Olympic-sized pool. Beyond the pool are the greenhouses and soccer/football field, which doubles as a tournament ground. Past that, all the way to the north wall, are lush green lawns, spotted with pavilions and benches where students can study and hang out. A similar pavilion can be found on the beach just outside the north gate.

Inside the school itself, hallways lined with classrooms connect the dormitories and surround a central hall, designed both as a cafeteria and an assembly room. The south hall contains the administration offices, while the east and west halls are classrooms and the north contains the trophy room and vending machines. The northeast corner contains Flaria tower, the northwest Jolteria, the southeast Solaria, and the southwest Aquaria.

As you arrive, you are directed to the admissions office, where your ID picture will be taken and you will receive information packets, including your class schedule, dorm info, roommate assignment, and details about the various facilities open to students.

And here, our heroes enter the stage…

Name: Dru Pyronson
Gender: Female
Age: 15
Class: Sophomore
Focus: Advanced Battle Techniques
Pokemon: Flareon (Torch, female)
Physical Description: Standing at 5'5 with a lean build, what stands out about her is her personality manifesting in her appearance. Her hair hangs past her shoulder blades and never stays quite the same color for more than five weeks at a time (currently, it's a rich purple with one-inch midnight blue streaks worked evenly through). Her eyes are almost the same blue as the streaks in her hair. Her ears are pierced three times in each lobe, with two cartilage piercings in her left ear. Her left eyebrow is pierced twice as well (the outer with a spiked bar, the inner with a hoop ring), and she has a small black labaret in the middle of her lower lip. She does have a few tattoos that she's gotten on the sly, mostly on her back, though she does have one on her upper right arm; a blue and black band of Celtic knots works around her bicep. Her wardrobe leans towards the bizzare and extravagant; mostly dark, rich colors and heavy fabrics that both compliment and contrast each other. During the warmer months, she'll wear a dark colored (usually purple or black) tank top with tight but comfortable black pants and heavy black leather boots. Elbow-length black arm warmers (which really don't warm the arm) accent the outfit, along with many plain silver rings; one on every other finger, starting with her left pinky. Several silver necklaces dangle around her neck, including a western dragon and a cat with a pentacle.
Personality: She's as quick to smile as frown. She hasn't had the happiest life, and has known loss from an early age, which can sometimes give her a gloomy outlook. She's much more aware of her own mortality than most are at her age, though most that know her would think the opposite. She is a daredevil and loves walking on the wilder side of life. Her trust is hard to win and can be easy to lose, but once she is a firm friend she will go all the way. She can be strong-willed and difficult to get along with, though she does try to be open minded about others views. Intelligent, quick-witted, and shrewd, she could be your best friend or your worst enemy.
History: Her mother and twin brother were killed in a series of fires that swept through Cerulean City ten years ago. Since then, she has been the ward of her mother's cousin Blaine, gym leader of the Cinnabar Gym, and last known living relative. She hardly remembers her father at all, though has never heard anything to suspect that he is dead. She has no name to go on, only a few brief memories from her toddler years. She has one good friend, Nayia, a member of the Cerulean City Waterflower family and cousin to the gym leaders, that she visits often, especially during the summer.
Relationships: None. Nayia was to attend, but her plans were changed last minute and made it impossible. Those who have visited the Cinnabar gym will recognize her as an apprentice there, but she doesn't actually know anyone.
Other: She has a blue and black Suzuki motorcycle that she has ridden to school, and is a highly accomplished musician. She sings and plays guitar (both electric and acoustic, though she prefers electric most of the time) and a little bass. She has a black Gibson SG (and required set up) with her.

Get ready, set, all systems go

Student parking required a permit, apparently, so I parked my bike in the visitor section, strapped my helmet to the seat, and made my way into the school, heading towards the administration office. The hallways were a nondescript off-white with light blue carpeting; soothing to some, boring to me. Whatever.

The secretary greeted me and asked for an ID. I dug my driver’s license from one of the inner pockets of my jacket and handed it to her. I waited for a few minutes while she went through the drawer of a file cabinet and pulled out a manila envelope. She handed it to me, along with my driver’s license. “Just through there, dear,” she said, pointing to a hallway to my right. “They’ll take your picture and get you your keycard.”

I joined the queue, just behind a tall guy with a blindfold over his eyes. He held a long cane in his hand, and I assumed that he was blind. I felt awkward, standing there behind him, not knowing if I should say hi or mind my own business.

“So… where are you from?” I asked, feeling immensely lame. He turned slightly, not quite facing me, just listening for a few moments.

“Saffron, how about you?” he asked.

“Cerulean, originally, but I’ve been living in Cinnabar for awhile. I live with my cousin at the gym there.” I paused, wondering what to say next. “I’m Dru,” I added.

“Leonard, pleased to meet you.” He smiled shyly.

“Next!” The man in the next room called. “Uh… that would be you, son,” he added.

“Oh, right. Nice talking to you, Dru.” Leonard turned towards the doorway, cane reaching out in front of him, and he made his way to the waiting stool in front of a white wall. From there, they took his picture and a machine near the camera started whirring and produced a small ID card. It was green with his picture and name on one side, and a black magnetic strip on the other.

“Don’t lose this, now, it’s your key for the gates, your dorm tower, and your room. It also keeps track of your meal points, as well.” The man explained to Leonard, handing him the card. Leonard nodded, and made his way back out of the room and offices.

“Next!”
I brushed my black leather jacket off a little bit, trying to disguise the fact that it was very dirty from travel. I also had helmet hair… I ran my fingers through it quickly and probably made more of a mess than before. I sat down on the stool and looked at the camera. The flash was blinding, and I sat there blinking for several seconds. Then came the whirring sound, and a red card with my name and picture on it was produced.

“Like I told the last guy, this is very important, so don’t lose it,” the man reminded me as he handed the card over. “Key for the grounds and all that good stuff. Next!”

I left the administration hallway, following the signs that pointed towards a red door at the end of a long corridor. I swiped my card through the reader and opened the door when it clicked. It opened into a large circular room that was half kitchen, half laundry room. The walls were red with grey molding along the floor and doorways. A spiral staircase rose out of the floor in the middle of the room and ascended into the tower. As I had no food nor laundry, I mounted the stairs to the second floor and the girls’ dormitories.

I walked around the hallway until I found my name on one of the doors. I slid my card through the scanner and opened the door. There was a bed on the left side and the right, with a window in the opposing wall. Two closets flanked the door, and two desks did the same to the window; all in all, a pretty large room. Boxes were piled up on one side; I checked them, and my name appeared on each. At least my clothing and other belongings had made it here ahead of me. Life would have been awkward with only one set of clothing. I began to unpack a little, hanging clothing up and making the bed. I found my small amp for my guitar, and pushed it over next to my desk.

I sighed and surveyed the damage I’d done to the pile of boxes. They were about half done, but I wanted to explore the grounds. I broke down what boxes I had emptied and gathered them up, intending to find the recycling bins. I felt a twitch at my belt.

“OK, Torch, OK… I gotcha…” I put down my pile of cardboard and took the Pokeball from my belt and released my partner in crime from her confines. “FLARE!” She yelled at me.

“Yeah, yeah, I know… C’mon, let’s find the recycling.”

The light was bright outside, and I squinted at the glare. There was a large bin set up just outside the front door of the school building for cardboard boxes, and I deposited my burden into it. Torch sat back on her haunches and stared at me.

“What is it now?”

“Flare,” she said, and twitched her ear. Obviously, I was forgetting something…

“Oh! I remember now!” The thought came to me that I’d forgotten to get a parking pass. I went back into the building and headed back into the administration office. The secretary looked up as I entered.

“Uhm… Yeah. I forgot to get a parking pass.”

The secretary pulled out a form and put it on the desk in front of me. “Just fill this out, make, model, year, color, and license plate… And put this on your rear window.” She handed me a static cling sticker.

“Uh, I have a motorcycle…?”

“Oh, then… just stick it on somewhere. If it comes off, just come back in for a new one, I suppose.”

I nodded, and turned to leave, when I ran face-on into someone coming in.

EDIT: (Forgot to add this in)
Name: Layla Nejem
Gender: Female
Age: 19
Class: Teacher
Pokemon (Main): Serkan (Flygon M)
Physical Description: She is a medium-sized tan-skinned, young lady who's look belies her prowess with the Dragon-type. Underestimating her in a battle could prove costly.

Personality: Easy-going but analytical and sometimes cautious in battle. She also holds some of the values of her home nation (UAE) in mind. Due to her strict upbringing, she doesn't take very kindly to those who choose to hit on her.

History: Showing an incredible knack for battles at an early age, it is perhaps no surprise she was the first foreign-born champion of Hoenn. She grew tired of the life and quit the position after a few years, deciding to take her life in a different direction. She believes that books can only go so far and as such takes a more hands-on approach to teaching students.

Relationships: Mostly with students, but this could be due to her age. She's very approachable otherwise and always willing to teach someone who shows a bit of enthusiasm.

Other: She always has her Flygon flying around with her, unless the situation requires it to be in its pokeball.

---------

It was Layla who was on her way to pick up her attendance sheet at the main office.

"I apologize", she said in a slight Arabic accent and then proceeding to bow. "I was in such a rush. Are you alright young lady? New terms are always such a crazy ordeal. You will always bump into someone" She gave Dru a cheerful smile.

Layla is a strange sight for anyone who has not yet had her as an instructor, this morning she sports a Hijab wrapped around her head and with it a cuffless black vest, neatly buttoned, with the school's logo, under it a white dress shirt with a crimson *somewhat thick* bolo tie. Her Flygon floats right next to her as always and gives a slight, shy wave to the young student.

She then proceeds to look all over Dru and then realizes she's a new student "Ahhhh, new this term I see, welcome welcome. I'm Layla Nejem an instructor here."

"Don't let the giant hallways or the tough looking students scare you. Some of them are just full of as you say, hot air.", she says as she again bows and walks away.

Name: Thomas Marcolt

Gender: Male

Age: 16

Class: Sophomore

Pokemon: Darla (female Shuckle)

Physical Description: A little short, perhaps 5'6", with light yellow hair and light eyes. He wears a lot of purples and is somewhat scrawny. His left leg is a little shorter than the other, so he uses a cane.

Personality: A friendly sort, outgoing and talkative, and rather reconciled to his lack of physical ability. He tends to ramble once he gets started, and much to his dismay, has a tendency to overwhelm conversation once he finds a topic he can warm up to. His entire being turns serious when theological questions come up, and anyone who disrespects dead or Ghost-type Pokemon is pressing his berserk button.

History: After a difficult birth, Thomas lived a fairly quiet life in Lavender Town. He spent a lot of time in Pokemon Tower, reading tucked alongside the memorials to deceased Pokemon. Eventually he found himself seeing the ghosts, but felt little fear - they weren't hurting him, after all. Some of them became his friends.

For most of his school life, Thomas was tutored - his parents were slightly overprotective due to his physical condition. He didn't interact with other people very often. He got into Pokemon from an early age, in part due to his interaction with ghosts. Darla, his Shuckle, was picked up on a family trip to Johto.

His tutor offered him the Lapras Valley High entrance exam one afternoon as a lark. Thomas passed, much to both their surprises.

Relationships: The ghosts did not follow Thomas when he left Lavender, and he had few human friends. No one he knows is in the school.

Other: Despite his liking for ghosts, Thomas does not use Ghost-type Pokemon - he considers it akin to putting leashes around the necks of your friends. As he understands this is his own viewpoint, he doesn't object to others doing so.

"An Adventure Begins, or, Why You Never Give Old Gypsies Fake Money"

A cane tapped on the ground, forming an odd rhythm with the shoe across from it. Both of them belonged to a young man who swayed a little as he moved, keeping his head down. He had a small tote bag over one shoulder, a Pokeball on his hip, and several sheets of paper in his hand.

Clicking his way into a neutral corner, he leaned against a wall and flipped through them. "Let's see... Map, opening-day schedule, list of things to do... Ah. 'Get ID card'. And it's over..." *He looked up, then made his way towards that room.

Once inside, he slid into line, which was a bit awkward for someone who could only pivot on one side. His fingers tapped on his tote bag, and he looked around, wondering about the others in queue. Unconsciously, he flicked the hair out of his eyes.

On instinct, he looked around, concentrating. However, all he saw were the living.

I don't know whether to be appreciative or disappointed, Thomas thought as he moved in front of the camera. He stood up straight, sliding off the tote bag and keeping the cane steady.

The flash went off, and he blinked it away, collecting his ID card. Hearing the usual spiel about holding onto it, he slid it into his shirt pocket and picked the bag up.

Or would have, if a girl slightly younger than him hadn't retrieved his bag and held it out. "Here you go," she said.

"Thank you," he replied, slinging it over his shoulder and giving her a smile. "And what's your name?"

"Tana..."

"My name's Thomas. So where're y-"

Before he could even finish the question, she'd darted away.

Blinking again, Thomas looked to the tower assignments in the information packet. They were both in Solaria. Gives me a chance to try again, he decided as he made his way to it.

The color scheme was not exactly thrilling - it looked like a cesspool - but he tried to ignore that as he found his room. Pushing the door open, he set his bag down and sat down, catching his breath.

One hand tossed his Pokeball, and a small, pockmarked meteorite appeared. Then two yellow tendrils pulled it onto his lap, and a third one amused, topped by a little face.

"Shuckle?" it asked.

He patted what amounted to the Shuckle's head, grinning. "I'm okay... Just don't usually get this active..."

Name: Holly Sans

Gender: Female

Age: 16

Class: Sophomore

Pokemon: Shinx [Tahoma]

Physical Description: On the shorter side of medium height, Holly often is seen wearing an eclectic collection of clothes. These range from bright pink shorts with black band tshirts, to lacy skirts that puff out, to skinny jeans in a range of colours. She usually wears a backpack and other acquired accessories, such as sunglasses, hats, shoelaces as hairties, bandannas, scarves, and other things she finds lying around, whether they belong to her or not. Her face is narrow and her eyes are a mix of green and brown. Her hair often changes colour depending on how often she can be bothered to dye it. Sometimes it is pink, others blue, others purple, others black and brown. Currently it is black with purple through it. She has a special place in her heart for big shoes, or no shoes. Often she wears thongs (flip flops) for comfort, but also loves big lace up boots.

Personality: She likes to think of herself as likable and fungoing, which she can be. Others often see her as arrogant and stubborn also. She is a quick thinker, and often is fixated on a solution to a problem and sees it as the only solution to a problem, ignoring others opinions. She is bright, and somewhat talkative, however this can lead to being insensitive to others feelings.

History: Before coming to LVH, Holly attended a local day school, where she was bullied. After a split up between her parents, she applied for LVH as a fresh start, to get away from all she had once experienced. Without many friends, Holly's confidence has been a bit shot, but she usually shakes these things off quickly and goes about her every day business.

Relationships: No friends as of yet. No significant others, but Holly being an open and sometimes unknowingly flirtatious person, hasn't counted these out the picture.

Other: What do people write here?

Holly Sans ~ Joltia

The school was massive. I wandered up the drive, panting slighlty at the size of the hill. Ok, so it wasn't that steep, but my body was screaming at me, annoyed and distressed. I suppose it really said more about the state of my exercise, which currently was non-existant.

Maybe that was one thing that I could change.

This school was full of new beginnings. That's what mum had kept saying. "You'll have a good time, you'll enjoy yourself, I remember when I went to Lapras Valley High, it did wonders for me."

Whatever.

Something about being in Solaria, some rules and some other information, and once the lady finished blabbing on I continued along my way. At least the ground was flat now.

Joltia was a pretty tower. I scowled. I wasn't keen on actually enjoying my stay here straight away. But it was decorated with yellows and whites, curtains, bedspreads, paint jobs all reflected this colour scheme.

It was pretty.

Tahoma, my pretty little Shinx, was curled up in his pokeball when I released him. He curled up on my bed and fell straight to sleep. I rolled my eyes, and turned to leave the dorm. All my things were dumped at the end of my bed, could be dealt with later.

I didn't mean to be, but I was a pretty slobby person.

I went to walk out my dorm, when someone walked in.

"Oh, hi," I greeted. "I'm Holly. Who are you?"

Changed some stuff, including name, class and Pokemon (last time, I promise!)

Name: Jennifer Miller
Gender: Female
Age: 16
Class: Sophomore
Pokemon: Caine (male Zangoose)
Physical Description: She stands at 5'5 and is thin and sort of pale but is in good shape from training with her Pokemon. Her eyes are a mix of blue, gray and green and her hair is a chocolate brown that lies straight down at her shoulders although she likes to put it up most of the time. She prefers wearing tank tops and jeans with sneakers but isn't against dressing up if the occasion calls for it.
Personality: Danielle is a kind but quiet person, more focused on battling and taking care of her Pokemon than going to a party (although she isn't against the idea). She has a biting humor, which surprises people due to her usually reserved behavior. She also likes to curse, mostly when something goes wrong or in exclamation.
History: Up until she was four or five, Danielle and her family traveled from land to land, city to city, relying on her parents winning battles and gym badges to provide for everyone. After a few chaotic years of raising a child on the road, her parents decided to settle in Celadon and became professors at a local academy which Danielle attended later on as a freshman. She decided to transfer to LVH after determining that she couldn't learn anything more from her parents and thought that a change of scenery would do her well.
Relationships: None
Other: Likes to read

Jen - Joltaria
--------------------
"Well, this is it," I said to Caine as we stared at the expansive and impressive grounds. "It looks great to be honest but I figure anything would do after Celadon Tech."

The thing was, it wasn't much of a stretch since my former school was utter crap. I mean, I loved my parents and I learned a lot from them but I need another teacher's perspective on battling and educational studies. Also, the school itself was pretty damn ugly and I had about up to here looking at crumbling ceilings and second rate study material.

We soon made our way to the front of the building and went inside to find the registration office.

"I know you already know this, Caine, but since there are a lot of people here from different lands, there's a good chance that one of them will have a Seviper. I will recall you immediately if I see one slither in front of us, much less hear the name in passing. I don't want to have to restrict you to your Pokeball for the majority of the day."

As if on cue, he instantly stood on his hind legs and bristled at the dreaded name being spoken. I gave him a stern glare and he grumbled softly but eventually got back down on all fours. I loved my Zangoose dearly but it was ridiculous that he had to be one of the few species that held an intense hatred for another Pokemon, even though he had never even seen one. We were lucky so far but in a place like this, my hopes were slim.

After his little outburst, everything that happened next seemed rather droll. I got my picture taken for an ID card, and as usual it came out like shit (though I never considered myself photogenic). A packet containing everything I would need to know about LVH was then thrust into my hands and like that, I was merrily on my way to Joltaria, my dorm for the year. I don't know how they determined where the unusual types went but I wasn't complaining.

I was glad I didn't have a reason to complain - the Joltaria dorm was actually pretty nice. It had a lovely yellow and white scheme going on and not that blinding neon yellow crap but a soft buttery yellow. From the looks of it, the kitchen and laundry room were on the main floor and from what I could vaguely remember being told, the girls' rooms were on the second, the boys on the third and a rec room on the fourth.

I chuckled to myself as we climbed up to the second floor (well, dragged in my case since I had stuff to carry) and was surprised when I found my room to be open.

We entered the doorway to see a girl on her way out and a Shinx curled up on her bed napping.

"Oh, hi," she said enthusiastically. "I'm Holly, who are you?"

"Jen," I replied and looked down at my Zangoose. "And this is Caine. I would shake your hand but mine are currently full."

"That's fine," she said cheerfully as I made way over to my bed and proceeded to spill everything on top of it. "That's Tahoma over there. He's tired for some reason so I decided to just let him sleep."

I vaguely nodded and looked around our room. It was a decent size and thank god we had our own bathroom. I would've died a little inside if I had to share a bathroom with 15-20 other girls. Would probably act like Caine if a Seviper was mentioned, in fact.

"Hey, you listening?" Holly asked impatiently. "I said I was about to go out and I was wondering if you wanted to come?"

"Oh, sorry about that," I smiled sheepishly. "I was just admiring the room. Sure, I'd like to go and explore for a bit. Maybe outside? Apparently we can see the ocean from the back and there's a pool and stuff."

Holly Sans ~ Joltaria
Pokemon: Tahoma (Shinx)

* * *

Jen lead me down the stairs, carefully studying the map she was holding. She was a little taller than me, and much thinner.

Is she anorexic? It'd probably be a good idea to keep an eye on her meals, just in case. She was awfully pale as well. Perhaps she just didn't get much sun, or maybe she was just really sick. I wanted to ask her if she'd ever been to hospital, but I held my tongue.

My tongue was always getting me into trouble. I had been warned severely not to get myself into trouble on the first day here.

She was somewhat quiet. I figured it was up to me to do some of the talking.

"So, Jen right?" I re-confirmed her name. I didn't want to end up calling her the wrong name. I'd almost called her Danielle.

She nodded in response, leading me through the middle of the school grounds. Tall buildings surrounded us, blocks of classrooms and dorms. Upon each tower flew the house flag proudly. I quite liked Aquaria's flag, it was a mix of blues and purples and quite astetically pleasing.

"Where are you from?" I asked.

"Celadon," Jen replied shortly.

"Oh." Silence followed. I came to the conclusion rather quickly that she wasn't about to continue conversation. "I'm from a little place called Lilac. Heard of it?"

Jen shook her head.

"It's like this little suburb out the back of Lavender Town. It's pretty small. I used to go to school there, but it was day school and all those kids were like, trashy and stuff. Figured coming here would be better for education, socialising, and other stuff."

And I wouldn't get bullied.

I hoped.

I didn't have to worry just yet.

Jen simply nodded in response, acknowledging my little spiel. She stopped suddenly. I had to stop myself from running into the back of her. She glanced up at our surroundings, down at the map, and back up again.

"Oh shit."

Name: Mateo Ralen

Gender: Male

Age: 16

Class: Sophomore

Pokemon: Eevee - black fur, female (Shadow)

Physical Description: Mateo's about 5,11. He has a crop of black hair that sits in a mess on top of his head (combs?) but its a scruffiness that suits him. His hair aside, he comes across as appearing to be a bit of a neat freak. He wears a casual suit; loose-fitting black trousers, black shoes, black jacket (undone), white shirt, red tie. However, this is all he wears when he's going to be seen in public. In private however...(will be revealed). Mateo has a strong, athletic build despite never appearing to do any actual exercise. He also has a scar on his right cheek.

Personality: Mateo doesn't talk to anyone. Very few people have actually heard him speak and that's only to issue commands to his pokemon during battles. He keeps his head down and works hard in class. He gets good grades and has a reputation from last year for being top in all of his classes. He has an excellent understanding of battle strategy and tactics and rarely lost during his freshmen year. In battle he's cold, calculated and heartless, and many people seem to be afraid of him because of it.

History: Mateo’s mother is the head of LVH but no one knows it because he uses his father’s surname and she uses her maiden name. Ever since he was born, Mateo has been drilled into becoming one of the best trainers in the world, to succeed in the places where his mother failed. He has known no friends in his life, only his pokemon and the opponents he was forced to battle. There was never any doubt that he would attend LVH and although he dislikes having his life directed for him, he has little choice in the matter. He finished his freshman year as the top student and is expected to do the same this year.

Relationships: Just his mother but that’s a secret

Other: …

Here we were again. Same line, same excited greetings, same fake smile...I pocketed the ID card without looking at it and turned to my timetable. Printed in the top corner were the words "Major: Breeding". I breathed a sigh of relief. Thank God, she hasn't changed it.

My mother and I were of two minds. She intended for my success in place of her failures, I had my own path I wished to follow. I couldn't tell her straight out of my intention - no, that was a choice destined for failure - so I had used her methods. I had argued the advantages of my major, of the pokemon that I could gain without months of pointless training. There was ample talent in this school and I could make use of it.

"Very well, I'll accept your decision." Her gaze was firm, her eyes stiff and icy. "However, there is one condition. You are to stay here for summer school, where you will focus on Advance Battling. I can't have you falling behind."

I could see the freedom being squeezed out of me but what choice did I have? I could sacrifice three summers or four years but in the end, only one path would lead to me escaping her. I nodded. "Fine, I accept."

"Mateo!"

I forced a smile. "Layla." It was still difficult to address her by her first name.

She glanced at my timetable. "I see our summer together hasn't persuaded you to change majors."

I shook my head. She didn't know of the connection between me and my mother. Just as I had kept it secret from the students, she had kept it a secret from the faculty. There was to be no special conditions, no easy passes. I had to pass with the same level of difficulty as everyone else. Failure was on my head alone.

"Ah well. At least we'll still see each other in the mixed classes."

"I look forward to it."

She smiled and bowed, an odd custom of hers. "I must be off to prepare."

"Layla-" I bit my lip and glanced across Shadow. I was due to visit my mother whilst the start of term preparations were underway but I needed an excuse to avoid it, just a little longer. I wasn't ready quite yet. "Would you teach some more? I feel we were not able to...cover enough over the summer." I nibbled the tip of my tongue. "Maybe it would be good for the students too, to see what a lesson is like beforehand?" I added, muttering the words more than actually speaking them.

She tilted her head, "A lesson? NOW?"

She recognized Mateo from the Advanced Battle courses over the summer. He'd been a good student even though he didn't really show a whole lot of interest in the subject. Despite that, she tried to help him out anyway she could, she even gave him some extra lessons after class when he asked.

It's a shame that he didn't major in Advanced Battle, teaching students with a passion like his is rather enjoyable. However, she also understood that everyone has their own path to follow.

"I could understand in class as a demonstration, but now is...", she was obviously a bit skeptical. It was not often she got a request from a student outside of class, especially one like this. She wasn't going to deny him though.

The young man nodded.

"Alright, but, I'm not keen on showing off so early in the semester.", she said glancing over to her Flygon. "You should be familiar with this one, I used it plenty of times on you over the summer." He hovered in front of her, contrary to his usual shyness he looked determined as he always does before a battle.

Serkan always had the will to win, and was one of Layla's most cherished pokemon. It had been with her ever since he was a Trapinch. Most people wouldn't have given Serkan a chance in battle considering he was small compared to other Trapinch. Fortune had smiled on him though, Layla'd always given him a chance and he repaid her by becoming one of Layla's strongest battlers, and very few would beg to differ.

"Ready, Serkan?", he nodded and continued to hover, waiting for the young man to make his first move.

"I've gotten better over the summer."

"Good to hear, then this 'lesson' should be quite entertaining for the new students", she replied.

Name: Leonard Poe. A.K.A. Blind Poe
Gender: Male
Age: 17
Class: Senior
Pokemon: Shedinja
Physical Description: A rather lankey individual, standing at about 6 foot, his skin slightly pale, his pale brown hair in a shaggy messy just reaching his chin. His clothes aren’t anything extravagant. Usually a grey shirt, jeans and a white jacket over it. Sometimes seen with a wide brimmed hat, though only on hot days. His most notable feature is the black blindfold that covers his eyes.
Personality: Normally a quiet individual, though he will speak when spoken to, and can hold a conversation. He’s not really the social type, and doesn’t really care much for appearances (what with him being as blind as a bat). He normally tries things on his own, unable to stand being weighted on. He does get shy around women, mainly due to the fact that women normally avoid him, but overall, he’s a nice person, if you just got to know him.
History: Born in Saffron City with a genetic defect in his eyes resulting in blindness. Because of this, he had to learn to adapt without his sight, something he has trouble with even now. At the age of ten, while the other children received their pokemon partners and went on their journeys, Leonard was forced to stay at home, as his parents felt that his blindness would cause problem (in both travelling and battling). However, at the age of twelve, he came across his first, and only, pokemon. A Shedinja, cast off after a trainer’s Nincada evolved in Ninjask. The two formed a bond as Leonard studied at Saffron High. At the age of sixteen, a spokesperson from Lapras Valley High came to visit the school. She seemed to take pity on the blind boy. Shortly after, Leonard’s family received an invitation to attend Lapras Valley High. While his parents were ecstatic about it, Leonard knew he only got in out of pity, a fact he’s constantly bitter about.
Relationships: None
Other: Blind as a bat.

Blind Poe
----------------------------
The school was quite large, and as one would expect, for new students, this could be pretty disorienting. Now, imagine what it would be like for someone who couldn’t see!

His cane quietly tapping the ground in front of him, Leonard quietly tried to make his way through the school to his dorm apparently he was in the Solaria tower, but due to how busy it was, what with it being the first day and all that, they were unable to spare anyone to help the poor blind guy. After all, how many blind students were there in this school?

So, Leonard had to turn to his faithful companion Shedinja to act as his guide. The ghostly bug’s gentle buzzing acted as a guide for the blind teen as they walked through the school ground. Now all Leonard had to worry about was not tripping over anything on his way to the dorm. Unfortunately, his efforts would be in vein, as he felt something catch onto his foot and he fell head first to the floor.

At first, he thought he had simply tripped on something on the ground. However, he could hear very feint, suppressed chuckles, and the angry buzzing of his Shedinja told him maybe his fall wasn’t as accidental as he once thought. He gave an annoyed sigh as he climbed back to his feet. It wasn’t the first time some prick tripped him up. Well, at least he wasn’t bruised or anything. Retrieving his cane, he resumed his journey towards the tower. At least with Shedinja nearby, nothing too bad would happen to him.

However, despite all the time they had spent together, he still didn’t know when Shedinja was saying “Stop, you’re about to run into a door!”. Something he discovered when he reached the tower itself.

Name: Tana Renais
Gender: Female
Age: 14
Class: Freshman
Pokemon: Nidorina (Reannon)
Physical Description: [link] (http://img6.imageshack.us/img6/6758/scan10115b.jpg) A real shortie, Tana stands at 5'2” with a small, slightly curvy build. She sports face-framing, waist-length dark brown hair, which is usually tied into small two braids with dark blue ribbon to compliment her bright blue eyes. She wears the same ribbon as a choker on her neck. She prefers to wear cute clothing, such as babydoll tops and frilled camisoles, skirts, and calf-high boots. Long, sleeve-like fingerless gloves complete her ensemble most of the time.
Personality: Tana comes off as an overly generous but timid and clumsy girl, usually hiding her true feelings behind a small, awkward smile. She hardly ever raises her voice and has a tendency to run away when she meets someone new. Once she opens up to someone, her demeanor seems to change completely, smiling and laughing frequently. However, if someone gets her angry, it would an extremely long time to get back on her good side. In battle, she'd attempt to keep the opponent's Pokemon's well-being in mind, concerned for their safety as much as her own; sometimes at the cost of the battle.
History: Tana grew up in Goldenrod City as a pretty normal girl, shyer than most, obtained good grades on her exams, and hardly bothered anyone, keeping to herself most of the time. Although she's a decent battler and got into the school without much trouble, she still prefers to draw and sing, carrying a sketchbook and pencil with her wherever she goes. Although she brought Reannon, her Nidorina and first Pokemon, she still misses the ones she left behind at home.
Relationships: Weston Avery's childhood friend
Other: *eats other*

World's greatest klutz

~*~*~*~*~*~

A new school. A new cluster of friends. A new life (maybe?) Tana Renais stood up on her tippy toes and tried to look up to see if the line was moving yet and heaved a sigh. Even the lines at the Goldenrod Department store didn't move this slowly whenever they had a big blowout sale! Eventually, the petite girl finally reached the head of the line to get her ID photo taken, fidgeting and stepping back and forth in place, accidentally hitting people with her way-too-large messenger bag, and apologizing profusely. She nearly ran to get her picture taken, practically shivering since she was so nervous... and camera shy. She was nearly blinded by the bright flash and stepped aside to regain her bearings before picking up the green ID card. It wasn't the most flattering picture, but it would have to do.

A tallish boy with light yellow hair and light eyes and a cane caught her eye, and he seemed to have dropped his bag. Concerned and worried that he might fall over if he bent over, the girl bounded over to him quickly and picked it up for him, smiling shyly. “H-Here you go!” she squeaked.

“Thank you,” he replied and slung the tote over his shoulder; smiling at her kindly, “And what's your name?”

“Oh gosh, I'm no good at this!” she yelled at herself mentally before replying. “Uh... um.. Tana.”

“My names Thomas, So where're y-” he began to ask and introduce himself, but the girl fled from the scene, too embarrassed, and crashed into and extremely tall (for her standards) guy with reeeeeeeally long red hair, and he was reeeeeally pretty, but his most striking feature was his eyes. Except they seemed to be glaring down at her, so she squashed that thought and gulped. He flashed a small smirk and held out his hand. “Hey, sorry about that, are you alright?”

Tana yelped and jumped up to her feet, “Um. I-It was totally my fault, don't worry about it, bye!” escaping from the scene once again. “That guy was really pretty... have I seen him somewhere before? He looked really familiar...” She breathed a sigh of relief once she lost him and leaned against the wall, totally exhausted, and trying to regain her bearings again. From what she could tell, she was somewhere... inside this way-too-big building and was totally lost. She tried to look for any notable landmarks (or building marks for this matter) and pulled out her map, frowning. “Okay so I'm around here... and if I go there, that should be my dorm! O-Or so I think.. anyway...” she said to herself as she concentrated on her map and brushed past another fairly tall guy, but this one had brown hair and bright green eyes, similar to the other guy with red hair, and before she knew it, she walked straight into a wall.

“Ow... I hate it when I do that!” she yelled, rubbing her nose.

The boy walked over to her, showing concern. “Are you alright?”

“Yeah... I'm totally, perfectly alRIIIIIIIIIIIIGHT!!” she yelped as she tripped over her own feet and knocked him over, landing on top of him. “Oh my gosh, I'm so sorry!” the girl squeaked and started flailing her arms, only to realize she should've gotten off of him. “Hey, wait... it's you!” she exclaimed once she got a good look at his face. “You're the guy with that crazy Mudkip who ordered a bajillion types of tea and coffee!”

“Oh, you mean Muddly? You're the waitress who waited on us that time, right?”

“Yup! How is he?”

“Fine. Erm. Do you mind getting off of me?”

“Ah! Sorry!” she apologized again and got off of him at last, blushing a bit. “So... um... I'll see you around!” her voice cracked as she turned to leave, but he placed a hand on her shoulder and stopped her.

“Do you need help? You seemed a bit lost. Where's your dorm?”

“Solaria... anyways... I-I'll manage...” she smiled up at him awkwardly, feeling her face heat up, “I have a um... map, after all!”

He seemed to laugh a bit. “Are you sure? Solaria's in the other direction.”

“ACK! I... um.. this is... THANK YOU!” Tana yelled and made another run for it, finally reaching a bright green door, opening it, and nearly got mowed down by another familiar face. “W-Weston?! Ugh, I seem to have all the luck today,” she groaned.

“What, you're not glad to see me?” he laughed.

“Ugh, it's not thaaaaaat... Anyways, I'll see you later, I gotta go unpack!”

“Do you even know where your room is?”

She stopped in her tracks and gulped. “Um. Yes?”

He laughed again. “You're hopeless, as usual. The girls' dorms are on the second floor, your name should be on your door.”

“Thanks, Weston,” she smiled her awkward little smile again and took her time walking up the stairs. The color didn't seem to be very appealing, but the earthy tones were calming, somewhat. She swiped her card through the scanner and looked around the room before walking in. It was a nice size, and it had all the commodities the girl needed. Tana shut the door behind her and tripped over a box laying by her bed and dove right into the pillow. She sat up and groaned, getting hit by a wave of deja-vu, recalling herself tripping over her feet and landing...

“Holy Arceus, I forgot to ask for his name!”

"Meeting New People, or, 1.87 Guys Come Together"
----
After a few minutes of unpacking his things, Thomas heard someone else arrive at the tower. He heard it in the sense that he heard a loud thud into the door.

Retrieving his cane, he headed over to the door, Darla still on one shoulder. Then he opened it, letting the newcomer in.

The newcomer, he noted, was clearly blind. On instinct, Thomas compared his cane to the one he himself used. Drat, he thought. Mine's not as good.

"Thanks," the newcomer said, walking past him now, one hand rubbing his nose. A Shedinja floated past.

That caught Thomas's attention, and he couldn't resist staring at it as he followed the blind student. "My name's Thomas Marcolt. I'm in this tower. What's your name?"

"Leonard Poe."

"What grade are you?"

"Senior."

"I'm a soph. What's the Shedinja's name?"

"Doesn't have one."

"Oh."

This was clearly getting nowhere fast. Small talk, Thomas realized, was not Leonard's forte. And frankly, he could understand why. "Your Ninjask?"

"No, it's a cast-off," Leonard replied.

One of Thomas's switches flipped. "What a bastard. Nothing should be thrown away, not even a ghost. Those who passed deserve more respect than that, damn it..."

The blind man tilted his head, even as the Shedinja guided him towards his room. "You're... passionate about that, aren't you?"

"Yes," Thomas said, holding his hands up in admittance (not realizing that it would go unseen). "I'm from Lavender. We take ghosts pretty seriously."

"I'm from Saffron," Leonard replied. "We're bigger on technology."

They had stopped in front of a specific room, and so Thomas paused, then sighed. "I'll leave you to get settled in. My room's two doors down on the other side of the hall if you need anything."

There wasn't a thanks, but Thomas deluded himself into thinking it was unspoken as he clopped away, Darla never having left his shoulder.

Name: Nola Evans
Gender: Female
Age: 17
Class: Junior
Pokemon: Maui (male Totodile)
Physical Description: A slender girl standing at 5'10", with straight blond hair clipped to her shoulders (yay, first blonde!). Her green eyes glitter like emeralds and almost seem to have a feline quality to them. She likes to wear sleeveless T-shirts and colorful skirts of different lengths (none of them too short). If she's not wearing sandals, she goes barefoot. But something she wears that sort of clashes with her outfits and her personality is the studded chokers she wears to match the ones that she has Maui wear.
Personality: Despite the "evil blonde" air that others see, she's actually very nice. She's just a little...short on attention span. You could be talking to her and she'll suddenly start talking about something she just remembered, or something that gets caught in her field of vision. She spaces out almost constantly, thinking about anything, even philosophy. She can even forget things she's seen or heard thirty seconds ago. She's eager to help others, although sometimes she ends up making things worse. Pokemon are first on her priority list and loves to talk about them. She has a fascination for Pokemon that are seen as "dangerous". A good example is her mother's oversized Feraligatr, who is the mother of Maui and the recipient of a lot of Nola's letters.
History: She was a former student of Naval Island Academy, where she was one of the top students in her class. Her father is a famous battler while her mother did both battling and contests. Both of them have gained fame and wealth.
Relationships: She should be known by Loosestrifes since they're both famous (if that's alright with Weasie).
Other: Loves to dance. She likes to move it, move it, she likes to move it, move it...

“Gotta shake it off…’cause the loving ain’t the same and you keep on playing games…”

“Evans!”

“Yes?” I had to entertain myself while the secretary went to get my stuff together, but I didn’t hear her come back.

The secretary looked me over with concern, wondering if I was sick or something. “Are you alright?”

“I’m fine. Why do you ask?”

“Because I was calling your name for five minutes.”

Maui looked up at me from his place on the floor beside my chair, a similar dreamy look on his face. He was bored as well, and he didn’t like having to be still. “Oh. Sorry,” I told the secretary quietly.

She gave me a packet. “Here’s your schedule, dormitory information, roommate assignment, map of the school grounds, so on and so on. Are there any other questions?”

“What does a Diglett’s body look like?” Well, she did ask for questions.

“I meant those pertaining to the school,” she groaned with a roll of her eyes.

“Oh. No.”

“Toto totodile!” Maui whined in his raspy voice, desperately tugging on my skirt.

“Don’t worry, we’re done here,” I soothed with a pat on his head. “Now we’ll see where we’ll stay.”

He jumped around in excitement and sprinted out the door as soon as the next student opened it. I gasped and ran after him, accidentally knocking over the student. “Sorry!” I yelled over my shoulder without slowing down.

Maui had a big lead, running down the hall toward one of the dormitories. From the change in color, we definitely weren’t heading towards Aquaria. “Flaria,” the overhead sign read. “Maui, this is the wrong place!”

The Totodile either didn’t hear me or didn’t care. Either way, he barreled into the first Pokemon that walked out, and then both of them tumbled into the other Pokemon’s trainer.

Crap, too short. Tag, anyone in Flaria.

Be the best that you can be, best of your ability

I blinked as the woman walked away. She was friendly, but… formal. Not quite something that I was used to. I figured I’d better hurry up and get there, though, if I wanted to survive here. I was used to the laid-back atmosphere of our gym in Cinnabar. Sure, things got serious when there was a challenger, but most of the time, formality was just that. Life was sure about to turn on its head.

Torch trailing after me, I went back out to the parking lot and moved my bike to the marked student parking, and stuck the static-cling sticker to the front of the bike. Hopefully, I wouldn’t have to go anywhere and it would resist the weather.

That done, I made my way through the parking lot back towards the building, but rather than return to the inside, I decided to explore the grounds a little bit. I went around the building, past the basketball court, where a few students were shooting a few and talking. A few more students could be found at the pool, some swimming, some lounging about on deck chairs. Some staff members were prepping in the greenhouses, getting them ready for classes on Monday.

I strolled through the grass of the tournament field, between the two rows of bleachers. Torch ran ahead of me, glad to be free. It was a beautiful day, not too hot, with mostly clear skies, only big, fluffy clouds off in the distance. I still wore my biking leathers, not wanting to have to go back inside to take them off. My hair whipped behind me in the wind, colors seeming to glow in the sunlight. I felt like I could take on the world.

Sometimes, life was hard. Sometimes, it just plain sucked. It was easy to lose sight of the beautiful things, the good. On a day like today, however, all that was wonderful was easy to remember. The warmth of the sun on my face, the wind in my hair, fresh from a bike ride across the continent… All was well. At least, it was for now. The storm would come, as it always did, but in the present, I could be at peace.

I stopped and looked around, trying to decide what to do next. It was probably a bad idea to venture onto the beach encased in black leather. The forest was inviting, but the sun would start setting soon, and it had been a long day. It wasn’t quite time for dinner yet, though there wasn’t enough time before to take a nap; looked like it was time to finish unpacking.

I returned to my dorm room, passing more people on the way back than I had going out. I wasn’t the only one getting acquainted with new surroundings, and more students were arriving as time went on. There was even a small battle going on in the tennis courts. The school was gradually coming to life.

In my room, I found that my roommate hadn’t yet arrived. I unpacked my computer and other desk accessories, the rest of my clothing, and various odds and ends. Soon enough, my side of the room started looking livable.

“What do you think, Torch? Good enough for now?”

“Eon, flare flare!”

Then I noticed a small box lying on my bed that I hadn’t noticed before. It was long and thin, black velvet covering the outside. There were hinges along one of the longer sides, and I opened the opposing side, the cover flipping up.

“Oh my God….” I whispered. Inside lay a black velvet choker, about ¾ inch wide, with alternating round white and black diamonds set in it. Attached was a note, saying simply, ‘Congratulations.’

“Torch… this can’t be real… can it?” I sat down abruptly on the bed, staring at the thing. “Who in the hell would send me something like this?!” I couldn’t think of anyone who could afford such a thing, much less someone who would send it to me. I stashed it under my pillow for the time being.

“Weird…” I muttered as I hung my biking jacket over the desk chair, revealing a dark blue tank top underneath. I brushed my hair quickly, trying to get the tangles out and largely succeeded.

“Flare!” Torch barked at me, dancing around my feet. I sighed.

“OK, fine, let’s see if we can find some food around here…”

I locked the door behind me, and Torch bounded down the stairs and out of sight. I rolled my eyes and followed her.

As I opened the door to the tower, a blue streak ran full-on into Torch, who had launched herself into the hallway. The two of them collided, rolling on the floor in a heap, landing at my feet. I grabbed the door frame to keep from being bowled over, and glared at the two Pokemon at my feet.

“TORCH!” I yelled, thoroughly annoyed.

The two Pokemon disentangled themselves, revealing the other to be a Totodile. Realizing this, Torch puffed up further and jumped back, growling. After a few battles at the gym in Cinnabar, she had a strong dislike of water types. She hated getting wet.

“Maui…” the other trainer said, reproachfully. The Totodile jumped up, excited, and looked into the tower behind me. I stepped into the hallway and pulled the door shut to keep him from getting any ideas.

“Sorry about that, he gets a little…excited sometimes,” the girl said, sounding embarrassed.

I waved my hand in the air. “That’s fine, Torch is like that, too. In fact, if she wouldn’t run everywhere, this wouldn’t have happened…” I said, glaring.

“Flareon…” she whined.

“Whatever, Torch. We’ll talk about this later.”

“Uhm… excuse me, but do you know which way it is to Aquaria tower?” The other girl asked.

I pulled out my map and consulted it. “Yeah, it’s in the opposite corner… so I guess it doesn’t matter which way you go.” I shrugged. “It was nice meeting you…?”

“Oh, sorry. Nola.”

I nodded. “Right. I’m Dru. See you around, then?”

“Sure! Come on, Maui.”

She went in one direction, and, consulting the map again, I went in the other, towards the doors to the dining and assembly hall. Surely there was food to be found there.

Name: Tiffany Parker
Gender: Female
Age: 14
Class: Freshman
Pokemon: Chikorita ( Chiko )
Physical Description: She has a very petite appearance, her hair tends to be down to slightly above her mid back, having dyed it dark green like a Chikorita leaf. She has hazel eyes and stands around 5’1”. She some times has scrapes on her arms or legs from falling or bumping into things while reading her book. She wears a white embroidery peasant top ( http://www.wetseal.com/catalog/product.jsp?categoryId=101&subCategoryId=115&productId=30665) along with a belt going around her blue jean shorts, usually having her pokedex tucked away in the back of the belt for easy access on Pokemon moves and attacks.
Personality: When she first arrived at the school she was happy and excited to set out to make a name for herself and gain the same recognition as her sister has. After multiple missteps that excitement slowly drifts away to solemn quietness as she attempts to not ruin her sister’s name. She will usually carry around a pokedex for Pokemon battles and can be seen studying up between classes and at night. Because she is walking and reading the pokedex she tends to be a bit clumsy at times, this can also happen because of the incredible amount of stress she is under, causing her to over compensate for things and ends up failing.
History: Being the younger sister, she has always lived in the shadow of her talented sister, at a young age she watched her sister leave for the school with much fan fare, having scored some top scores on the early tests. Her parents have always fawned over her sister, talking up his achievements, when she was finally old enough to become a trainer she got her started Pokemon and headed to the exams. Even though she knows little about battling, or Pokemon types, or anything really a trainer needs, she was accepted in because of her brother’s fame.

”Mom I will be fine!” I must have said those words numerous times in the past day, heading up to the school, the moment they dropped me off, and now here I was at the school, talking to her on my pokegear, still remaining awestruck at the hustle and bustle that surrounded me. I had been to the campus before several times in the past few years, but now I was on my own and my mom was worried about her youngest child being out on her own.

“Yeah I’m sure she is just running a bit late… okay call her again.” The phone call ended and I was able to look up again, gazing around the campus as I waited near the parking lot, where I had been waiting for the last hour and a half. “I can’t believe I am here!” A shiver of excitement ran down my back.

It wasn’t just that I was in high school; I was in this school Lapras Valley High. The one high school I had wanted to go to since my sister had been accepted, the one goal I had focused on for over three years had finally ended at this point, my first day on campus.

“So there you are.” A sharp but familiar voice rang out, cutting through the air like a hot knife as a hand grabbed my arm. “I have a lot of things to do, and very little time to babyset.”

I finally got a look at the person who was now dragging me along by the arm, it was my older sister but at the same time it wasn’t, she was cold, focused, with no joy or happiness on her face like at family gatherings, it was almost like some one else in my sister’s body. “No one helped me when I was here, and if mom hadn’t kept calling me, I would have left you to fend for yourself”

I kept my mouth shut, I was just glad to be here, and now my sister was here that meant we could spend the nights studying together like we did as kids and we could trade pokemon, and talk about boys. “Now you brought everything I told you to bring, correct?” She asked as we entered one of the buildings, making our way up to the receptionist. “She’s here for the keycard.” She stated bluntly to the receptionist who turned to me.

“Do you have any sort of ID?” She asked as I dug into my left pocket, I had brought along my old middle school ID card since I was too young for a drivers license. Except it wasn’t there, I checked my right pocket and again only paper and lint. This is when my heart began to kick into over drive as I checked my back pockets while my sister let out a long sigh.

“I told you to have all this stuff ready.” She shook her head as I dug through my bag, finally producing the ID and handing it over. A minute or so later she handed me a envelope and directed me down the hallway. To which I found myself waiting in line along with many other students. Rachel glanced down at her cell phone impatiently, checking the time and her schedule on it. “Dammit..” She swore in anger before turning back to me.

“Like I said I have other things to do, call me when you get done with the keycard.” She turned and began to walk away, getting only a few steps before stopping. “And don’t do anything stupid, and dye your hair to a normal human color, you look like a potted plant.” And with that she was gone, off to tend to some other business as I waited in line.

Okay so maybe she was stressed, she was a senior and one of the highest scoring students in her class, she had a lot on her mind. It didn’t matter anyway, I was here, finally here, at Lapras Valley High, things had to get better from here, they just had to.

Going to edit in a post for Rachel once I can ask Dru what things seniors can do.

We had moved our battle outside, to the tennis courts where our battle could be seen by students passing between the main building and their subsequent towers. It was perfect. I could drag out the battle and when the time came to face my mother I could tell her how I was showing her newest students the type of hard work they could expect - and how formidible an opponent I could be. It was a perfect alibi for my tardiness - so long as I didn't fuck it up.

Shadow jumped from my shoulder and onto the battlefield. I knew what people would think when they saw the match-up: "That Eevee doesn't stand a chance." "It's too weak to win." "It's a complete mis-match." On the surface that was how it looked but that wasn't the point of my summer lessons; they had been about overcoming adversity. Evolution was not the key to victory. Shadow could do as much - no, more - than any of her evolutions. That was what we had trained for, to prove to the world that we didn't need to change to be strong.

"Go." There were no need for orders. The two pokemon had faced off against each other many times over the past few months and every time I had walked away with a new strategy to try. I was ready for whatever Layla could order.

Shadow sprinted across the field, executing a quick attack. Her speed, combined with the agility training we had been focusing on, let her gain extra height. She leaped, barely missing the Flygon's tail. She landed and turned to attack again.

"Dragon breath."

The attack caught Shadow in mid-air. She curled to protect herself from some of the attack. I wondered if she had enough force to carry her through but Serkan's attack was too powerful and knocked her to the ground. She rolled back onto her feet.

"Earthquake."

I grinned. "Counter manoeuver." We'd been saving this one. Shadow initiated another quick attack and jumped between the uprooted mounds of earth, playing the shifting ground to her advantage. She leapt again, catching the Flygon mid-attack, and, sinking her teeth in, dragged him to the ground.

Finally, on our playing field...

"Bite." The plan now was to attack quickly, to deal as much damage as possible before Serkan could regain height and distance. I knew very well that I was unlikely to win this battle but just getting a little bit closer meant I was improving.

But how far will we get?

Hope those moves are ok. I randomly picked from TPM moveset discussions lol.

Layla

----

Layla wasn't expecting a counter from the Eevee, but it wasn't entirely a surprise. During her travails she'd learned to be ready for anything.

"Very good", she said with a bit of a smile herself.

"Thank you"

"Serkan", she looked over to her Flygon and then nodded to it. He nodded back lightly as well even though he was being pulled and bitten, this was the first time in a long time that he'd gotten a scare of any kind.

"I'm glad you're enjoying yourself now use your trump card, Outrage!", Serkan began to glow bright blue and yes the Eevee was indeed quick, but, being in such close range avoiding the attack or countering it would be next to impossible for it.

Serkan, pulled the Eevee and tossed it off then proceeded to smash its tail right into the Eevee. It connected and it hurt. Serkan got a bit of a worried look though, he'd never used that attack on other pokemon unless they (as in he and Layla) were in a serious pinch. He decided to show some respect and bowed his head to his opponent. As if to say 'That is Enough'. The Eevee did look like it was in bad shape.

As was expected, students had actually crowded around, a lot of them were freshman who'd never seen a battle outside of those on TV or as a spectator. A lot of WOW's and surprised gasps, and if you listened carefully enough, the older students in the crowd would be jeering Mateo for such a mis-match you could imagine it: "What a dummy, he should've know better!"

Ignoring the crowd, though, Layla clapped for Mateo. And then put a hand on his shoulder. "This is the first time you gave me a scare, the counter caught me off guard. You're using your head, that's good. Come with me, if your Eevee needs to rest just let me know, there's some healing machines on the way."

"Why do you want me to come with you though?"

"I have something for you, I think you will be needing it."

She looked up, she was just now realizing that there was a crowd.

"Oh my, looks like you were right Mateo.", she said grinning.

The semester hasn't even started and we're already attracting record crowds. She said sarcastically in her head.

---

I wasn't sure how quickly you wanted the battle to end, so I tried to remain as neutral as I could, don't wanna seem like I'm modding.

Arriving late was always something you can't hide about Von; he had just arrived at Lapras Valley High a day late.

He was on his motorcycle, colored clack with red strips running on both sides, he parked it wherever he saw fit, gone through the procedures of taking a picture and all the other stuff that he didn't pay any attention to, he also sat through a LONG talk about being late.

A few hours later, he found himself in his own room, he changed to a random pain of jeans and a blue shirt, and then he went for a walk, exploring the outside grounds.

"Nothing special..." Von said to himself. "Oh I almost forgot about Slasher."

Von sent out his Gligar and he landed on Von's head.

"What are those people gathering there for?" Von asked as he saw about a dozen or more of students gathering around one place, Slasher flew over, took a look and flew back to Von.

"So," Von asked. "What's going on there?"

Slasher punched himself.

"A Pokémon fight," Von said. "Might be fun to watch, to know a bit more about the competition."

Von walked over to the fight, but it was already over by the time he got there, apparently an Eevee got defeated by a Flygon.

"No surprise there," Von said to Slasher. "The Flygon looks like a decent challenge to us, don't you think so?"

Slasher nodded and grinned.

Name: Zane Pieters
Gender: Male
Age: 15
Class: Sophomore
Pokemon: Jet, Mudkip (Male)
Physical Description: Zane is about 5' 8", quite slim yet athletically built with a bronze tan and medium length black hair that is spiked up. He has large brown eyes and usually has a smile on his face. He wears Hawaiian shirts and beach shorts during warm weather and a long sleeved t-shirt and cargo pants when it is cold or night time, sometimes with a sleeveless hooded top. He is normally in flip-flops whatever the weather, although will sometimes wear sneakers instead.
Personality: He is a very laid-back person most of the time, content with just laying back and watching the world go by. His two big loves are Pokemon battling and watersports, perhaps the only two things that can really get him motivated. He is a perfectly friendly, approachable person who is loyal to his friends and he is usually not aggressive, instead acting indifferent or ignoring any animosity put his way. He can be competitive but also a good sport, never one to hold a grudge. He does have, at best, a lax approach to rules and protocol though, and it is easy to mistake his laid-back, indifferent approach to things that don't interest him as disrespect.
History: A native of Pacifidlog Town, he grew up there and caught his first Pokemon, Jet, there. They instantly became close friends and both of them grew up loving water, seeing swimming, surfing and diving as natural parts of life. He quickly became a formidable trainer, often challenging trainers that came his way to battles. After catching the attention of a Pokemon League representative who was passing through, he earned himself an invitation to join LVH. He was sad to leave his home, but saw it as an unmissable opportunity to make new friends and become a better trainer.
Relationships: None yet.
Other: Nothing.

Zane Pieters

"Here you are kid!"
Zane hazily woke up. The truck he was lying in the back of had stopped and the friendly farmer had gotten out, along with his Growlithe, who was barking happily at Zane. Zane emerged from the hay and sacks of feed, rubbing his eyes.
"Here?" he asked sleepily and then looked up. He was taken in by how spectacular the school looked, completely different to the rustic look of Pacifidlog. Not even the brochure he was given gave even a close example of what it was like up front. He grinned and leapt down from the truck, grabbing his duffel bag from the bed. He reached into his pocket, reaching for his wallet.

"Hey, kid, no worries! This trip's on me!" the farmer said. Zane looked up to him, about to protest, even though he knew he was broke.
"You sure?" Zane confirmed.
"Yeah, I needed to go this road anyway, need to deliver this to some Miltanks near here!"
Zane smiled and took his hand away from his pocket, shaking the farmer's hand and then scratching the Growlithe's head.

The farmer and his Growlithe left, leaving Zane standing there, admiring his new home. He took out a Dive Ball and released his Mudkip, Jet. Jet had also only just woken up, still looking quite sleepy.
"Hey Jet! Look, we're here!"
Jet looked up, saw they had arrived and began excitedly jumping up and down.
"KIP! KIP! KIP! KIP! KIP!" he began yelling. Zane chuckled and leant down, putting his arm down for Jet to climb up. Jet ran up his arm, onto his back and then climbed onto the top of his head. Zane smiled and walked into the reception area.

"Ah, you must be Mr. Pieters," the secretary said as he walked past the front desk. He turned around, not expecting to be talked to.
"Uh, yeah, that's me. Am I in trouble or something?" he replied.
"Oh, no, not at all! I just need you to sign here."
Zane was handed a pen and, not ever having had to sign anything, just wrote his name on the line. She then handed him a folder.
"In there is everything you need to know. Your house is Aquaria, feel free to find your dorm and put your belongings in there!"
"Uh, thanks," he replied and wandered down the hall absent-mindedly. He saw many trainers rushing around, talking quickly and loudly. It was very much far-removed from the peace and quiet he enjoyed back home. As he was watching two girls from across the hall jogging and chatting loudly, his train of thought was interrupted.
"LOOK OUT!"

*SLAM*

Zane was barrelled over by a rogue Totodile, knocking Jet from his head, who managed to grab onto the back of his shirt in the nick of time. He sat up and checked to see Jet was okay, which he was, but seemed a bit scared. Zane turned around to see a blonde older girl.
"I'm sorry about that! Maui is very excited!" she said, offering a hand up. He accepted and stood up, brushing himself off. The girl began talking to the Totodile, something about to stop running into other people. Zane turned to Jet and could see he was a bit spooked.
"Hey Jet, it's okay, no one is hurt!" he said. The girl turned and saw the Mudkip cowering over his shoulder.
"Is that a Mudkip? I guess you're in Aquaria as well!"
Zane was a bit overwhelmed by all this new surroundings. He hadn't really read the brochure and so knew little about what was going on.
"Yeah, that's what I was told. I'm Zane, by the way, and this is Jet. Jet, stop being so shy, say hello!" Zane said, encouraging his shy Mudkip to introduce himself.

Tag classy. I figured we'd both be standing outside Aquaria now.

Name: Eric McAlister (nicknamed 'Shme')
Gender: M
Age: 15
Class: Freshman
Pokemon: Dratini (Yuki, female)
Physical Description: Lanky and not overly tall at 5'6. He has shaggy, very dark brown hair that never wants to lie flat. He doesn't brush it too often, which doesn't help, but it doesn't make much of a difference when he does anyway... His eyes are a brilliant shade of blue, and they'd be his only asset in the looks department, except for the fact he can't see two feet in front of him without his glasses. His glasses aren't anything special—thin-frame black rectangles—except they tint in the sun and are very difficult to break. His has a rather square face, with high cheek bones and an angular nose. Basically he looks like a darker, not-as-good-looking version of his older brother Drake. He isn't really muscled, except for the fact that he's decent at parkour/free running (thanks to the need to escape Drake many times). So he has the muscle to run away, just not the arm strength to pull himself up/climb things yet.
For clothes he usually wears a white t-shirt and a different plaid, button-up shirt over top everyday. Usually variations on blue, green and brown. He wears dark gray cargo pants with white socks, and black and white nondescript runners. He also has a light blue crystal ring on his right pinkie and silver ring engraved with a Dratini on his left thumb.
Personality: Not the sharpest tool in the shed, at least when it comes to people skills. He also has a speaking impairment in that he can't get to the point, he must say anything in the most fanciful way possible. He's very good at school, all A's, even though he seems like such a scatter brain. At some point he studies, just no one is quite sure when. He is usually gleeful and happy, when he's not running away from someone he's accidentally offended. So generally he's a dork but one most people just roll their eyes and deal with because he's mildly amusing.
History: Typical school-life prior to gaining entrance to LVH. He and his brother come from a very wealthy family, so they basically got anything they wanted (within reason... they weren't spoiled too badly). Spent an inordinate amount of time running away from bullies and his brother in school though, but that just transferred into a 'semi-sport' for him. So now he finds it fun. Sort of anyway. His Dratini he got from his parents; who bought it off a breeder as a gift to him for getting into LVH. She's supposedly from a long line of champions but she finds it hard to listen to her trainer. Seeing how he's such a goof and all. In battle she'll listen as she wants to kick some Poké-ass but otherwise... well... not so much. He just got her a couple months ago so they've yet to build a relationship.
Relationships: He is the younger brother of Drake, even if Drake pretends he doesn't know who he is. When no one is around to see Eric speaking to Drake it's a fairly good relationship. He'll generally be friends with anyone who doesn't try to beat him up within the first 10 seconds of meeting him.
Other: His nickname he got from sneezing when his mother's Bellossom was still a Gloom. He was allergic to it and tried to say 'me' in the middle of a sneeze. Drake never found out what he was saying, but gained a nickname for Eric that he detests.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

“DRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRAAAAAAAAAAAAAKE! I WASN'T PARTICULARLY LOQUACIOUS!!!”

If Eric were any other young man he would probably be delighted that ten girls were chasing him. He certainly wouldn't be running quite so fast, nor pulling the stunts he currently was to avoid/outrun them. However Eric wasn't like any other young man. His current predicament was causing him to be deathly afraid for his life. Somehow or another he had managed to PO these ten young women with one—I repeat—one sentence. It was only thanks to his foresight in tying his luggage to his back he could run with speed at all.

Eric could see Drake, currently walking towards the Administration building, turn and stare at the group chasing Eric. His eyes widened just slightly at amount of girls chasing his brother before he shook his head.

Eric skidded to a stop in front of him, eyes pleading behind their lenses, “I cannot fathom what I did to offend them so, only that I commented on the deplorable state of their footwear. It truly is atrocious! They all seem unfit for walking! They were constantly complaining as I strolled behind them, and I merely mentioned the possibility of changing their ill-fitting shoes to something duly appropriate for walking. Then they seemly decided to end my life and descended on me with haste! It is an impossibility that detestable walking shoes would be well suited to running, but they have not stopped hounded my trail, and—”

“Eric, what have I told you about talking to girls?”

“Um... there was something mentioned about it was unwise to do so...”

“I said DON'T.”

“But you—”

“I am NOT you, I don't commit suicide when I hold a conversation with other human beings. Now get behind me.”

Eric would have protested but he could hear the raging, small-ish mob and quickly stood behind his older brother. He thought stood, but 'hide' was more appropriate for his cowering state.

Drake raised his hands and put on his most charming voice. “Ladies! Please! If you would just stop and listen to me a moment I will tell you why you don't want to kill him.”

They all glared at Eric but softened their gaze just slightly upon looking at Drake. “Why?” said (Eric assumed) a hot blond.

“Because... He is... well... I'm his caretaker as he is socially disabled. He doesn't really know what he is saying. He uses those long words so he sounds smart but he isn't always aware of just how insulting he is being. No social skills you know? Honestly he deserves pity for how unintelligent he is.”

Their gazes softened a little more and Drake pushed the point, “You all on the other hand obviously have great intellects for forgiving him so quickly. Your shoes really are very nice. My charge here probably just meant you should get insoles for comfort. No beautiful women should give up a good pair of shoes simply because they are a little uncomfortable.”

A few girls smiled and the others looked mollified so Drake leaned in a tad, “Now you should all go on and enjoy this lovely day. The administration here can be a bit touchy about non-students on their property. Silly I know, but rules are rules.”

“I know! It's soo stupid. Oh well, hope to see you on the beach sometime...?”

He smiled winningly, “Drake.”

“Drake. See you around. By little guy!”

They waved and walked off, chatting happily about colour matching insoles and Drake turned back to Eric, a scowl creasing his features.

“Now, what did I tell you before we got here?”

“Well you communicated a great host of things so I'm not sure—”

“About who I am in relation to you.”

“OH! Of course. I am no one. If anyone asks too many queries, I am your charge as I am socially disabled and you are assisting me in the normal behaviours of society.”

“Exactly. So if you get into trouble again, YOU ARE ON YOUR OWN. I have a reputation to build and you are not going to become the bane of it. Now, once more. Girls?”

“Are not to be conversed with on any occasion unless it is about school. I should under no circumstances, unless extreme torture is involved, comment on anything about their person. It will only lead to my untimely—though wholly satisfying to you—death.”

“Good.” He patted Eric on the shoulder and smiled a bit. “You learn well grasshopper. See to it you remember my teachings from here on out.”

Drake turned around and began walking back to the building. Eric frowned and followed an appropriate, non-familial, distance behind him. “Of course I'll remember Drake but...” Drake sighed and looked over his shoulder at him.

“Yes?”

“Will you teach me to talk probably eventually? I mean, ignoring girls only because they are vindictive and will never stop chasing me, doesn't seem like a satisfactory life-long strategy. Other young men are manageable because I can dodge and run away but...”

“If you are not dead by twenty I'll consider it.”

Eric smiled and nodded. “Great! I shall endeavour to survive to the ripe old age of twenty when my brain shall surely be up to the task of speaking properly to all life-forms.”

Eric thought he heard Drake snort but his hearing must be off.

~~~
“And here is your ID Eric. Don't loose it as it gives you access to all the student areas in LVH.”
“Of course! I mean, no, I will not loose it, it shall be kept under great security.”
The guy just nodded and waved the next student to the chair. Eric looked at his picture. It wasn't too bad, the photographer had made him take his glasses off so the flash wouldn't obscure his picture. He looked slightly puzzled in it though. Probably because he could barely make out the camera with his glasses off.
He got to Aquaria Tower with no trouble, seeing someone collide with Drake but Eric of course obeyed the rules and did not acknowledging Drake's existence. His room was up quite a few flights of stairs but he didn't mind. He liked heights, even if they did not always agree with him. His room was the same colour of the rest of the tower, nice shades of blue and white. He dropped his luggage to the floor and let Yuki out as no one else was there. She promptly went to the window and Eric opened it for her to look out of.
“Well Yuki we have arrived at our destination. This should be a grand test of our skills in battle and proving our limitless knowledge. We shall inevitably be the best... assuming the girls don't kill me first.”
For the sake of simplicity, I'll have recalled my Zangoose before we left
Jen - Joltaria
-------------------
"Oh shit."
Startled by my sudden stop, Holly almost collided into my back but managed to halt herself just in time.
"What?! What's wrong?" she asked, with a hint of annoyance in her voice.
"Oh, nothing," I casually replied and pointed at the door in front of us and smiled. "I just found the entrance to the back lawn."
She gaped at me and was about to say something but then shook her head and fell silent. I turned around to look at her, arms folded.
"Look," I began. "We're roommates and I don't want us to get off to a bad start so I'm going to tell you two things. One, I can't talk to people and do something else at the same time. I'll hear you but I'll be unable to respond since I'm focusing on the other thing. Once we get outside, then we can have a proper conversation.
"As for the second thing," I said, this time with a harder edge, "I saw you giving me the once over and I'll stop you before you start wondering anymore. It's a fast metabolism and good work ethic - genetics and a healthy lifestyle. Once we get to the cafeteria and you start seeing me eat, you won't be suspicious anymore."
I think I shocked the poor girl as she was unable to speak for the second time. I shook my head wearily and opened the door so she could go out first. It wasn't the first time someone questioned my thin frame. I shouldn't have been defensive but after a while, it got annoying.
~
We stepped outside onto a beautiful lawn with the promised ocean views. There was a pool, basketball and tennis courts, greenhouses, the works. There was even a battle going on where Pokemon battles were held. It was an Eevee against a Flygon and the little guy actually put up a good fight but it was obvious that the Flygon had more experience and eventually defeated it.
We started walking towards the back, towards the ocean. There were benches scattered all around and we chose one that looked like it had the best view of the sea. We quietly sat for a little bit as Wingull and Pelippers flew above the ocean, sporadically diving towards the surface to pick up stray fish.
"I live in Celadon," I suddenly started, "but when I was really little, my family traveled from land to land, surviving on battle and badge earnings to keep us alive. I don't remember much, except that sleeping and eating in a Pokemon center after living for weeks on the road was like staying in a five star hotel."
Name: Weston Avery
Gender: Male
Age: 18
Class: Senior
Pokemon: Nidorino (Vincent)
Physical Description: Quite tall, in the vicinity of 6'1", with a thin and narrow build. He keeps his dark brown hair closely cropped to avoid having to comb or style it. Wears white fitted hats sometimes. Has green eyes, a larger than normal nose, and ears that stick out a little (picture Channing Tatum). He likes to wear shorts and flip flops most of the year unless it's ridiculously cold, at which times he'll wear straight, slim fitting jeans and plain colored shirts, also slim fitting. Has a black leather jacket and a black skullcap for cold weather.
Personality: Loves to talk and clown around in class, very friendly and outgoing. Can be annoying at times, but has a deeply caring heart. He's the kind of guy girls think is "cute" and "sweet" but never "hot" (which he is secretly insecure about). He's an athlete, playing soccer and basketball, but he doesn't fit the jock stereotype. Is smart and does well on tests but struggles with homework and staying on task.
History: Just transferred in from the Johto region, spending his first 3 years attending Olivine High. Played sports and the violin in the orchestra there. Is a decent singer too but can't play any instruments except the violin.
Relationships: Childhood friends with Tana, kinda like her big brother. Also the sophomore Dru Pyronson has caught his eye and he might have a tiny crush on her :D
Other: Drives a Pontiac Grand Prix to school and is assistant manager at a local pizza place in his free time.
Weston Avery ~ Solaria
"This must be it." Weston commented to himself as he slowed his car down to look. Off to his right was an expansive building, quite modern looking compared to his old high school in Olivine.
BEEEEP...
Weston was jolted out of his thoughts by the sound of the car horn behind him. He quickly realized that, in his daze, he had stopped completely in the middle of traffic. Giving an apologetic wave to the driver behind him, Weston pulled into the right lane and turned into the large school parking lot. As he slowly rolled down the drop-off lane, he caught a glimpse of a sign that read "STUDENTS WITH CARS" in large letters along the top. Slowing down to read it more closely, the rest of the sign read "Please use Parking Lot B for today. After you get your ID Badge and Parking Pass you may park in the Student Lot (Lot D)"
"Well that's helpful!" Weston once again thought out loud, pulling into the rapidly filling Lot B. Since he didn't mind walking, Weston found a more sparsely populated row of the lot and pulled into a space. Grabbing his bag out of the trunk, he stood for a moment and looked up at the school again.
"Seems like a nice place." Weston said to himself, locking his car with a breep breep and starting his stroll toward the front doors. He could already see the crowd of students in the lobby just inside the entrance.
As he opened the door to go inside, he paused a moment to let a few people rush past him. Continuing inside he spotted lines of teenagers with bags and suitcases, some with pokemon hopping excitedly at their side. At the fronts of the lines were wide desks lined up side by side, with apparent teachers sitting behind them. Above the desks Weston noticed several banners, each with letters on them.
"A-F, G-M, N-S, T-Z" Weston read silently, deducing that these banners determined which lines to stand in.
"Excuse me, what is your last name hun?" Weston heard a voice behind him ask. He turned around to see a woman with glasses and a clipboard peering at him inquisitively. He figured she was a teacher.
"Avery." Weston said after a hesitant moment. The woman smiled and quickly turned around, pointing at the line furthest to the left.
"You'll be in that line over there. Have a pleasant day!" she directed, quickly scurrying off to find other students who looked lost.
Weston slipped his other arm into the strap of his bag, hoisting it evenly on his back. He reached into his cargo pocket and pulled out a purple-patterned pokeball. He lightly tossed it to the floor a foot or so in front of him, releasing a Nidorino in a small flash of light.
"Good morning Vincent. Ready for our first day?" Weston asked, smiling down at his prickly companion.
"Neeeeedo!" Vincent responded with a little hop, rubbing his head ever so lightly on Weston's leg.
The two of them got in line, and relaxed for a few minutes as it slowly inched forward. Weston watched other people and pokemon mill about the cavernous lobby. His attention was briefly caught by a student with a long stick and a Shedinja buzzing in front of him. He was slowly waving and poking the stick around the floor in front of him, revealing that he was blind. Weston turned his attention back in front of him, thinking to himself "man, it must be overwhelming to be in a place like this when you're blind. I hope he likes it here."
As he reached the front of the line, the lady behind the desk looked up at him from her large book.
"Name please?" she asked quickly.
"Weston Avery," he responded, "Senior."
The lady flipped a couple of pages and skimmed down the last one with her finger, finally landing near the bottom of the page.
"Ah, here you are. Your pokemon is a Nidorino, correct?"
"Yes."
"What subject will you be choosing for your Focus?"
"I'd like Technological, please."
"Ah, you're the first to choose that one today. Good! Your house assignment will be Solaria. Please sit here so we can take your picture."
Weston sat in the chair and gave a little grin for the camera. The flash was a little bright, but he thought his picture turned out ok. As he got up to walk away, he remembered something and turned back around.
"Uh, excuse me ma'am, but where do I go to get a Parking Pass?" he asked the lady, who looked back up at him again from her book.
"Oh, head down to the Auditorium Wing dear. Straight down that hallway." she replied, pointing off to her right toward several sets of doors.
"Thank you!" Weston responded, grabbing his bag and ID and walking toward the doors. With Vincent bounding happily beside him, a smile crossed Weston's face.
"I think I'm going to like it here!" he said confidently, spotting the sign that said "Parking and Security Office". He continued through the door that was propped open, being greeted by a decidedly smaller line than before. Thankful for this, he plopped his bag down beside one of the waiting chairs and sat down. Vincent hopped up onto the cloth arm, doing his best sphinx impression. After the students in front of him had finished their business, Weston stepped up to the counter.
"Weston Avery, Senior, Solaria." Weston stated, sliding his car's registration across the counter. The lady behind it took the card and began typing on her computer. Within a minute she reached behind her where a small machine was working and pulled out a laminated sticker.
"This will be your Parking Pass for the year," she said, handing Weston the sticker, "The Students-Only lot is Lot D, Faculty Lot is Lot A, Staff and Maintenance Lot is Lot B, and Visitor Lot is Lot C. This Pass is valid for Lots C and D."
"Thanks!" Weston said excitedly, grabbing his bag off the chair and motioning for Vincent to follow. As the two walked back down the hallway toward the main lobby, a petite young girl bumped into Weston abruptly, falling helplessly on her bum from the impact. Weston quickly helped her to her feet, finally recognizing her face.
"W-Weston?! Ugh, I seem to have all the luck today." the girl muttered audibly. Weston chuckled. "What Tana, you're not happy to see me?"
"No no it's not thaaaaaaat....anyways I gotta go unpack. See you later!" she responded, starting to hurry away.
"Do you even know where your room is?" Weston interrupted her escape, and she froze in her tracks.
"Uhhhmmm..." was all she could muster.
"Haha, you're hopeless as always. Girls' dorms are on the second floor. Your name should be on the door of your room." Weston said, pointing toward the deep green door behind him.
"Oh uh, thank you! See you around!" Tana thanked him, scuttling through the tower doors and up the stairs. Weston chuckled again, shook his head sympathetically, and followed after her. He pulled the map out of his pocket briefly to verify the floors.
"Let's see here...Guys are on the third floor." Weston said to himself, trudging up the long staircase. As he reached the door labeled with a big '3', he began to get more excited. Vincent started getting excited too, hopping a bit as they entered the hallway. As they passed the doors to the boys' rooms, they could see that some students had already arrived and begun 'pimping out' their rooms. Some of the doors were propped open, and Weston could hear the sounds of televisions and conversations. Other students hurried past with bags and boxes as Weston came to a plain, brown door on his left. 'Leonard Poe -- Weston Avery' the sign read in list format.
"Ah, this is us!" Weston chirped, sliding his ID card through the scanner and opening the door. As he entered the room, he was surprised to see someone sitting in the chair at one of the desks. He recognized the boy he had seen earlier, a black blindfold over his eyes and the wakakaka stick on the bed.
"And you must be...Leonard?" Weston inquired, as the boy turned his head in Weston's general direction.
wow that was long, Guess that's what I get for waiting so long to post!
Name: Sebastian.L.Coyle
Gender: Male
Age: 17
Class: Senior
Pokemon: Mary Celeste (Female Mismagius)
Physical Description: Sebastian is around 5'11" with light brown hair which isn't very long. He has bright green eyes and depending on the weather they can also shift to a misty blue. He normal attire is a long black buckled coat with most of the buckles undone, a white undershirt, a pair of long blue stone washed jeans and a pair of white sneakers which seem pretty worn out.
Personality: Sebastian is a very nice person and is quite willing to help most people out. Though if you do manage to make him angry some how then you will find he is a very unforgiving person. He also seems to lose himself when he is battling causing his demeaner to shift a little. Besides all his flaws he is a very caring person.
History: After leaving his home town in the region of Kaloem at the age of 15, Sebastian started his pokemon journey with his first pokemon a Mudkip, after defeating the gym leaders in his region and collecting a number of different pokemon. He felt like he was missing something, that he needed to learn something more. To fulfill this urge he had Sebastian decided to enrol in Lapras Valley High, hearing that it was the most illustrious trainer school there was. Dissapointed that he was only allowed to bring one pokemon with him, he decided to bring along Mary Celeste which he has raised since she was a Misdreavus.
Relationships: None at the moment, but open.
Other: Am I supposed to write something here?
~*~*~*~*~*~*~* Sebastian *~*~*~*~*~*~*~
The creak of the brakes as the bus pulled up at the stop rang through the ears of the passengers signalling that they had finally arrived at their destination. Sebastian stood up and removed his bag from the storage compartment and headed for the door of the bus, stepping out on the pavement below who looked in front of him to see it. Lapras Valley High, one of the most respectable pokemon academies in the world and he was finally here. Reaching down to his belt Sebastian felt a slight feeling of absence when he went to reach for his pokeballs on his belt and only finding a single lone pokeball. Plucking the pokeball from the belt he opens releasing a giant flash, when the light had dissipated all that was left there was a purple floating apparition with a giant hat on.
“Miiiiisss” yawned Mary Celeste stretching her body after being cooped up in her pokeball.
“Come on Mary” Sebastian said as he picked up his luggage “Lets go get settled in to our dorm” As Sebastian walked through the campus to the accommodations office he saw a number of wonderful sights, the beautiful architecture of the rustic school buildings as well as a number of trainers out on the grounds battling one another truly this was Sebastian’s dream come true.
As he finally made his way to the office he was greeted by the sight of some very long lines, this however was one thing that didn’t please him that much his patience was something a bit lacking especially when he was excited. After a very long wait in the queue which only seemed to managed to move about 3 metres in the last hour he was finally at the front desk.
“I would like to check in please” Sebastian stated as he reached into his bag and pulled out his check in kit and handed it over to the cashier. The cashier pulled out a stamp and started going crazy with it over the papers before handing them back to Sebastian and asking him to go over to get his picture taken. Sitting down on the quite uncomfortable chair and having the flash almost blinding him before being hand a tiny little plastic card with a picture of him looking quite odd on it as well as another assortment of forms.
“There you go” the cashier groaned as she handed Sebastian the papers before going back to serve another customer.
“Aren’t we cheery today” Sebastian muttered under his breath before leaving the office and began heading towards his new dorm. As he walked through the building he saw a number of trainers with their pokemon out playing together or just reading books together, yet there was this one girl with quite long hair walking towards him but at the last moment she swerved to the left of him and straight into a wall.
“Ouch I hate it when I do that” the small girl yelled as she rubbed her face.
Sebastian walked over to her and asked “Are you alright?”
“Yeah, I'm totally, perfectly fine” yelled the girl before she tripped over her own feet again and landed right on top of Sebastian. “Hey, wait. I think I know you. You're the guy with that crazy Mudkip who ordered all that coffee and tea”
“Oh, you mean Muddly? You're the waitress who waited on us that time, right?” Sebastian asked.
“Yeh how is he?”
“Uh, fine” Sebastian replied “Do you mind getting off of me?” he added as he tried to get up.
“Oh, yeh sorry about that” the girl apologised as she got off him and ran away as fast as she could.
“Hmm that was odd” Sebastian stated as he brushed off his coat. His reply was a short nod from Mary. “Anyway we can’t stand around here all day lets get going” Sebastian knelt down and picked up his luggage and began heading towards his next destination, the dorms. The inside grounds of the school were quite illustrious as well but before long Sebastian found himself out side his dormitory, it was a large red and gray building with Flaria written on an arch. Moving into the dorm Sebastian was a bit disappointed as he looked around and saw the pokemon each trainer had out, fire pokemon, Sebastian’s least favourite type of pokemon as far as the eye could see.
“Let’s get to our room quickly” said Sebastian as he quickened his pace till he finally arrived at his room, putting his little key card into the panel near the door and it miraculously opened. The room seemed pretty nice but he noticed there were two beds as well as someone else’s stuff piled up on the right side of the room, Sebastian sighed and began putting his stuff on the left side of the room before standing up and stretching. “I am getting slightly bored in here” Sebastian sighed as he rose to his feet “How about we take a small walk around the grounds”
“Magius” came the reply from Mary
“Alright let’s go” With that Sebastian walked out of the dorms and began walking around the grounds.
Shut the blinds, rewind, let the ghosts into your mind
The doors were locked. It was getting on towards dinner time, and I guessed they didn’t have any options available in between meals.
“Flaaaaaaare…” Torch whined at me. I sighed.
“Torch, they’re not serving dinner yet. I didn’t bring any snacks with me for you, either. You’re just going to have to wait.”
Torch growled at me. She hated having to wait for food, and always had in the twelve years we’d been together. Sometimes, she got an attitude about it as well. She was a wonderful companion, and had always stood by my side, unless food was involved. When it came to food, I fell to second place.
Snooty bitch.
I consulted my phone. It was almost five o’clock, and dinner started at 5:30. No one was in sight. Did I wait here, or did I go back to my room and see if my roommate showed up yet? If I stayed here, I’d be first in and wouldn’t have to wait in line. On the other hand, I could also look like some kind of pig, which wouldn’t be good. In either case, Torch was bound to get very, very unhappy.
An unhappy Flareon is not a good thing to have on one’s hands.
“I knew I should have packed some snacks for you, Torch, I’m sorry…” I sank to the floor, my back to the wall next to the door. “I promise that tomorrow I’ll go to town and buy you some, OK?”
“Eon…” she grumbled at me. Sometimes she was as bad as a spoiled child.
I sighed and closed my eyes. It had been a long day, and this was just making it worse. It wasn’t like the day had been bad, just… long and trying. I let my head roll back against the wall.
Not too long after, I was alerted to someone approaching by Torch growling. I looked up to see Leonard, the boy from earlier, approaching, cane out before him. Walking beside him was six-foot-something of awesome. Sure, his hair was too short, and he was noticeably lacking makeup and piercings… But, hey, he was cute. Like, really cute.
I smiled at them. “Hey guys, what’s up?” Torch jumped up and stood between me and them, growling still. I scowled at her. “Torch, if you’re not going to behave, you’re going back in your Pokeball.”
She looked back over her shoulder at me, black eyes reproachful. I wasn’t impressed. She walked back to me and sat on her haunches, glowering at the boys, but remaining silent this time. She hadn’t liked boys since Martin, my twin brother, picked on her occasionally as an Eevee. After I got my firestone and she became a Flareon, she’d had an even worse time of it, as Martin had a Starmie. He hadn’t been a bad kid, just slightly aggressive sometimes. Boys will be boys, I guess. I still missed him, anyway. We’d been closer than regular siblings, which isn’t uncommon for twins.
I realized that someone had been talking to me. I shook my head slightly, as if clearing away the memories, and looked up from my seat on the floor. “I’m sorry, what did you say?” I asked.
Name: Rachel Parker
Gender: Female
Age: 18
Class: Senior
Pokemon: Chameleon ( Blaze )
Physical Description: She has a very tall appearance standing around 5’8” tall, like her younger sister she has long hair, but instead of it being dyed it is a solid black color. She has the same hazel eyes as her sister, but they seem to be a bit more angry and hardened, instead of having life in them. She has a average body for her age, and wears a drape cardigan top, ( http://www.wetseal.com/catalog/product.jsp?categoryId=101&subCategoryId=115&productId=24551) with a triple letter jacket over it ( Two letters one slightly higher than the other, and ontop of the other on one side, and one letter on the other side, all of them “L” for Lapras High ). As well as form fitting jeans to complete her wardrobe.
Personality: She has become a hardened person, leaving alone everything but her academic life and pokemon, knowing that she will need both when she graduates. Because of this she tends not to be as happy and care free as her younger sister, instead walking around with a very icy demeanor. Deep down she wishes she could be more like her younger sister and have some fun in her life. She does not back down in battle no matter who her opponent is, tending to take a take no prisoners approach even if her opponent is a newbie.
History: She has made a reputation of being skilled in battles and academics, having been one of the top members of her class since her freshman year. She tends to avoid extra functions outside of school, other than school activities and has found little to no time to date in the years she has been at the school, instead focusing solely on the hard and stressful work of keeping her grades up. As of last year she was elected Student Council president, and will be running again later that year * Approved by Dru *
Relationships: Nothing other than Tiffany
”And this…” The three girls unfurled a banner that stretched the table, it still smelled slightly of paint, and had the flashy reds and blues that would be found with any political banner “The plans are to put it up the first chance the school gives us later this year, we already have some prime spots picked out.”
Planning a re election campaign for student council president was a job usually done by the president and her closest friends, for me, it was the best people who I could hire with the money I had saved up over the last year. While other girls were spending money on outfits or going to the movies, I was saving up for my re election campaign; this re election campaign. “Is there any reason why you have neglected to place a picture of me on any of these banners?”
Personally I didn’t mind, I wasn’t the most photogenic of the potential candidates that were possibly in the running for my spot, and truth be told I had a problem with getting dressed up for a bunch of stupid pictures, but if I had noticed the glaring error, others would as well. “Umm..” The three girls looked at each other, unsure as to how to phrase politely what I already knew.
It was at that point my cell phone buzzed for what had to be the tenth time in the past hour, reminding me that my younger sister was still waiting for me to escort her around the campus. “I need.. thirty minutes..” The girls let out a sigh as I rubbed my eyes with two fingers. “Fix, the picture problem, it’s my last year and I am not going to let anything go wrong.” Any anger in my voice or stance melted away the moment I left the room, replacing it with the cool icy demeanor that I was known for as I made my way to where my sister had been dropped off.
Five Hours Later
“Dammit!” I screamed, throwing the book across the room to send it crashing against the wall. The pages flew open upon impact, scattering them everywhere as Blaze rose slightly from his resting spot on my bed, curious at what had prompted the sudden outburst of anger.
I had been building to this moment for four years, my senior year at Lapras Valley, and not only was I caught up in a re election campaign that I should be winning easily, but now my little sister shows up, and I cannot even concentrate on getting up to date on the notes I took last year. “They want some one cheery and friendly” I grabbed several of the re election posters that were on the desk, throwing them to the ground in a fit of anger, while mimicking the voice of one of the campaign aides.
“I can be cheery!” I screamed at Blaze who had moved into an alert position on the bed, a look of worry across his charmellion face.
I took in several long breaths, calming my racing heart and stressed nerves. “I bet you are ready for dinner.” I rose from the chair, heading to the door before even waiting for a answer. “Well are you coming or not?” I asked, noticing that Blaze had remained perched on the bed.
The pokemon paused for a moment, before finally scampering toward the door “That’s what I thought.” I grumbled as we headed toward the cafeteria.
Name: Berezi Aiza
Age: 15 (Sophomore)
*************************************************
A large motorcoach carrying several arriving students is seen pulling up to the front of the school. Getting off it is a young lady standing at about 5'2", she'd arrived at Lapras Valley High, finally. She carried with her a satchel slung over her right shoulder.
Out of her arms jumped an Espeon, who stared up at the school. Quite a building...
"You read my mind, Azeri.", she said. I take it you mean that literally. "Yes I do.", she replied. To most passers-by she looked like she was talking aloud to herself, but she was actually talking to the Espeon. It still didn't stop a few of the students from staring at her strangely, though.
She took out a map of the school, which was given out on the bus and looked at it "So, we're in.... Flaria. Great!" Oh great, more fire, as if having my arse almost burned by a Magmar wasn't enough. "Oh, don't be such a sourpuss Azeri. I'm sure the pokemon here are perfectly well trained, you will NOT become a roast kitty", she said giving the Espeon a rather unamused stare. For my butt's sake I would hope so! Azeri meowed and gave her a rather apprehensive look.
"Dale prisa", she said in Spanish.
They walked inside and got her ID, luckily she'd signed up and requested ID rather early, she hated waiting in line and Azeri was even worse at patience than she was. She wasn't one to get frustrated, there was just something about lines, long ones at that, that she simply did not like. There was a small window beside the Student Life office that said PICK-UP in big letters.
"Name please", said the man at the window. "Aiza, Berezi", she responded. The man turned around and shuffled through what looked like filing cabinets
She'd signed up just before the end of the previous term. Upon getting the acceptance letter just about at the beginning of the summer term she'd gone to get her picture taken. They'd told her she could pick up the ID at any time shortly before the start of the term.
"Here you go", the man said giving her a card. he looked outside to the window and said to her, "You're lucky you did what you did, otherwise you would've had to wait over there.", he said pointing at the long line. "That's why I did it this way, I hate long lines.", she replied. "Gracias!", she said running off.
After that she picked up her schedule and then proceeded to fixate herself with the map. Flaria is that way, Berezi. She looked down at the direction the Espeon was looking and then looked at the map to confirm.
*************
She arrived in the dorm room to find it unkempt but that was to be expected since it was only the first day, most rooms would be a mess Geez, what is this a pig sty?
She'd noted the door had another name on it as well, Dru Pyronson. Which meant that the mess was hers. She hadn't yet finished unpacking everything. Her mind kind of drifted off to imagining what her room mate looked like for a second and then looked around again.
"As long as it doesn't smell, we're good"
Oh how I wish you had a pokemon's sense of smell Berezi.
"Hey it's only the first day, hopefully this mess will be gone some time this week."
Her half of the room wasn't much better, it was a bunch of boxes as well, she began to unpack but then stopped. Her stomach growled.
They had actually gotten there quite late, it was 5:45 and she hadn't had much to eat since the bus left her house this morning. "You know what, lets straighten out later, you want something to eat?", she said looking down at Azeri. Do I ever, I thought you'd never ask!
"Vamos, y dale prisa que yo tengo hambre tambien!", she said picking out some money from her pocket.
They both leave to get food.
I scooped Shadow into my arms and followed Layla. I turned down the offer of stopping at the healing machines, arguing that I had a potion to hand, which I administered to Shadow. She nuzzled into my chest and I scratched her behind the ears. She had done me proud and was more than worhy of the reward.
Layla led me back to her office and presented me with a poketech. "It was a present but the applications are all for breeders so I have little use for it. It would serve you better."
"I can't."
She pushed it into my hand. "I insist."
She'd always been a weird one, more like a teaching assistant than an actual teacher. I reluctantly agreed to take the tech with the promise of taking good care of it and putting it to good use. She sent me away with that odd bow of hers.
As I left her office I decided that I had put the visit to my mother off long enough and headed in that direction. Shadow shivered when she realised where we were headed and I tried to calm her. Whatever I achieved was lost when we reached her office.
"Mateo," the secretary smiled at me. "We've been expecting you."
I'd never found out what my mother had told her about our relationship or if she had even said anything at all. But I expected she must have found something odd about the frequency of my visits throughout the year, especially with my pristine record.
"Go right in."
It was just the same as always. I slid into my usual seat in front of her desk. She smiled. "It's good to see you again. I heard the summer lessons went well."
"You wanted to see me?"
"I have a gift." She pulled a wrapped parcel from one her drawers and sat it on the table. She unfolded the layers of brown paper and there sat three small stones, each with a hint of colour that made them look like they had been stolen from a set of traffic lights. Shadow scurried up to my shoulder, eager to distance herself from them. "As it's your second year I think it's time you looked into evolution. An Eevee can only go so far after all."
I frowned at her and at the stones. I knew the answer I wanted to give but I also knew what the response would be if I gave it - the scar on my cheek was a constant reminder of that.
"Mateo," her voice was cold and somehow my name had turned into something dangerous and threatening. I saw her rolling a pokeball across the table with her finger, the same pokeball I had been trying to get my hands on for years.
I wrapped the stones and put them in the inside pocket of my jacket. "Thank you for your gift. I will consider your suggestion."
Her smiled displayed a line of glistening teeth. "See that you do."
As I left, Shadow jumped to the floor. She rarely walked but I knew she feared the evolution stones in my pocket. She wanted to change less than I did.
"Let's eat," I said, hoping to lift our spirits and take my mind off of the choice in front of me. Hopefully the dinner rush will go without trouble.
Name: Krystal (Krys) Lynne
Gender: Female
Age: 15
Class: Sophomore
Pokemon: Pikachu, female with pink cheeks and notched tail (nickname: Dengeki)
Physical Description: Krys stands rather tall for her age, around 5'8", with a fair skin tone. She has an average build and is just starting to show some curves. Her naturally-blond hair reaches halfway down her back, with chin-length bangs framing her face that she has dyed a cotton-candy blue, which compliment her bright blue eyes.
For clothes she's typically seen in brightly-colored skirts of varying types, usually pleated or puffy, and almost always around knee-length. Occasionally she'll wear one one of her two pairs of pants, one of which is a pair of black bondage pants with bright blue straps and accents that match her hair, while the other is a plain pair of fitted jeans with slightly flared legs. She wears brightly-colored baby-doll shirts with picture prints (such as Pikachu or Hello Kitty and such) and has it match her selected bottoms of the day. She varies in shoes between two sets of identical plain, soft sneakers, except one pair is white while the other is black. She always wears a bracelet-watch on her right wrist that's a semi-plaid pattern of black and blue (that matches her hair).
Personality: Krys is almost always bright as bright can be. At first meeting, you would probably write her off as a stereotypical bubbly blonde, because she seems very naïve and doesn't seem to have a care in the world. If you manage to get to know her enough to have a second meeting with her, though, you'll see that she is actually very intelligent and just has a very positive outlook on life.
There is a time when Krys drops her bright personality, and that's when she's in the heat of a Pokémon battle. She does not believe that winning is everything, but she feels that unless there's a life-or-death situation, there's no real time to be serious besides in a Pokémon battle. She seems to give off an aura of deadly competition when one is in progress. Of course, once the battle is over, she goes back to her bubbly self, regardless of whether she won or lost.
History: Krys grew up with her parents being Gym trainers under Lt. Surge, and so she has been involved in Pokémon her entire life. She has been trained since she was 10 on how to battle, but it was mostly using Pokémon she borrowed from her parents or the Gym. When she was 13, however, she managed to capture a wild Pichu while walking through the forests with her parents. She trained with the Pichu, and as such her battling became more personal now that she was battling with her own Pokémon. She soon received her letter from LVH and attended for Freshman year, during which her Pichu evolved into a Pikachu.
Relationships: None yet, but she's very open to friends.
Other: PI-pikachu!
Krys Lynne - Joltaria (Dengeki - ♀ Pikachu)
The start of another year at LVH
~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~
There were definitely some advantages to coming back to LVH rather than just starting in. Mainly, I already knew a bunch of things on how the school worked. I knew the layout of the school by heart, I knew the procedures for checking in, and I knew how the schedule of the school worked.
So it was no surprise that I was checked in with my new ID and had already settled into my room by the time my tower-mates had arrived. As I lay on my bed, I heard a couple of the new girls meeting outside my door. Sounded like they were roommates, which was fine by me. I liked having my own room; sure it was much smaller, but I didn't have to share any space or keep myself looking presentable ALL the time.
"Pikaa…" Dengeki said from the floor, indicating the door and the people beyond it.
"Later, Den," I said with a smile, "I need some more rest. It was a long trip today." She looked a little down, but I said, "You should get some as well, we're gonna be meeting a lot of new people tonight."
"Pi pikapi, chu…" she said agreeably, before toddling over to the small bed I had made for her over the summer. She had understandably grown out of the one she used to have, seeing as she had evolved last school year. She curled up on her bed, and we both started resting.
My alarm woke us up not long after, though. It was 5:15, which meant dinner would be starting soon. "Pika!" Dengeki said, jumping up excitedly as she read the time.
"Calm down," I said, but couldn't help but smile at her enthusiasm. "It's still fifteen minutes away, and I need to get dressed anyway."
"Pi-KA…" she said in an exasperated tone. I was already dressed, yes, but I wanted to wear something I hadn't just rode down and rested in. Dengeki sat on the desk by the door, waiting as I changed into a bright blue knee-skirt and white tank top. I slipped on a pair of white flats and grabbed my small messenger bag that had all my important stuff.
"Okay, Den, I'm ready and it's still only 5:25." She looked up at me, then jumped to the ground and followed me out towards the cafeteria.
Name: Olivia Eirlys Pond
Gender: Female
Age: 17
Class: Senior
Pokemon: Midna the female Sneasel
Physical Description: Olivia is around 5’6’’ tall, with a lean, but not muscley build. Her hair is white blonde, with only a scarce amount of slightly darker golden shades that are hardly noticeable, and reaches just below her shoulders. Her fringe is parted to the right, but does not cover her eyes and is cut to neatly frame her face. Her eyes are an icy shade of blue, giving her a sense of coldness. She wears a bright blue dress the ties up around the back with three buttons down the front and two pockets at the bottom, nearly reaching her knees. She has long black leggings that reach her ankles and black dolly shoes. Occasionally, if she’s cold (which is rare), she will add a white cotton, button-less cardigan on top.
Personality: Not the kind of girl that likes to stand out in a crowd, Olivia likes to keep herself to herself. She’s quietly confident, and isn’t the kind to show off or brag about things. Although she is prone to accidently giving people the cold shoulder, she doesn’t mean to, she’s actually a good listener and can give good advice, just doesn’t tend to share her own feelings with others. She likes to get on with things, which is why if she has something to do or something on her mind, she can give off the impression of being cold towards others. She avoids conflicts between people, since she knows that she is unlikely to win them, and would much rather settle things over a pokemon battle where her confidence truly lies. Midna, however, is a bitch. She is very protective of Olivia, being very kind and friendly towards her, but if she feels that someone may be threatening her precious trainer, she will give them death glares, start growling or in some rare cases, actually attack them. She is very loyal, though, so as soon as Olivia tells her to stop, she will stop. She loves to battle and although she is experienced, sometimes her enthusiasm can get her into trouble.
History: Olivia originates from Mahogany Town and is the granddaughter of the Gym Leader there, Pryce. She has been encouraged to battle from a young age, since she got her Sneasel as a present. Of course, she wasn’t allowed to train anything but an ice type, but she didn’t seem interested in any that Pryce had, so her parents got her something completely different, which annoyed him. She decided to apply to LVH get more experience of trainers, since she is pretty limited to the people that come to the gym and just throw out a fire type into battle. Grandpa Pryce was not so happy about this, since he’d rather her just stay and keep training to take his place, but at the end of the day he had no choice when she got the acceptance letter.
Relationships: None really, unless someone’s gone to Mahogany Town recently and got their butts kicked.
Other: Hasn’t really left Mahogany Town, so isn’t really used to the nice hot weather at LVH. She pretty much had to buy an entire new set of clothes since her family’s idea of a vacation would be to go to Snowpoint in Sinnoh to go Skiing XD
~Olivia and Midna~
The taxi ride from the train station wasn’t quite as bad as it could have been. Midna had finally settled after running around in the morning, generally getting in the way as she tried to finish backing her bags. She was curled up in her lap, fast asleep. With her elbow against the door, Olivia stared absentmindedly out the window.
She was late, but to be honest, she had come a long way and on public transport. She would be in time to register, of course, but she guessed that most people would have arrived already. On the upside, she’d missed all the queues; she could imagine Midna waking up and getting rather impatient, or perhaps start growling at someone that may have given her a slightly questionable look.
As the taxi pulled up into the drop off area, her eyes couldn’t help but widen. The building was huge, set in beautiful grounds. She was told it was by the beach, she hoped she would get to spend as much time as possible there. Not that she’d ever been to the beach...
“Alrigh’ love...” The driver said as he came to a stop. “That’ll be...”
“Here.” She’d already seen the fare, quickly taking it from her purse and giving it to him, careful not to wake her sleeping Sneasel. She took her pokeball from her bag, putting her back inside.
“Take care!” The driver called as she drove away. She watched, suitcase by
her side, before turning back towards the building.
She’d never seen so many pokemon before in her life.
Everyone seemed to enjoy having them wandering around with them, talking to them, playing... Of course, she’d love to do that with Midna, but she couldn’t risk her getting overprotective. Not now. Not on her first day. She wanted to make a good impression.
It didn’t take her long to register, as she predicted, there was no queue. She receptionist made some kind of snide comment when the only ID she had was from the gym. Something about how she should just wait there until she had the gym passed onto her. She scowled at her, snatching it back, refusing to make any comment.
I want to earn it... She thought as the flash went on the camera, taking her picture for the ID card. Not get it on a silver platter...
It didn’t take her long to find her tower. The blue decorations gave it away, to be honest. She headed to her room as quickly as possible, desperate to catch up and finally get to meet people. She was sharing her room, apparently, but her roommate wasn’t there (OCC: Someone can be her roomie if they want :3), so she dumped her stuff and headed to the common room on the floor below.
There was a distinct advantage to being in this tower, she decided as she saw the view out the window. She’d honestly never seen anything like it. The sea was beautiful white sand, the sea crystal clear. Slowly, she got closer, kneeling in one of the arm chairs, her elbows resting on the back of it, her eyes drawn to the view.
“Anyone would think that you’d never seen the ocean before...”
Olivia snapped out of her little daze, turning around slowly. A guy, she guessed about her age, stood a safe distance behind her, a little smirk on his face. His hair was red and eyes a shimmering green. Odd, she thought, if a trainer’s appearances reflected their preference in pokemon, she would have expected this guy to be in the Flaria tower. She pushed her stereotype aside before answering.
“Funny thing is I actually haven’t.” She replied, giving him a little smile before turning back to the view. “My name’s Olivia, by the way...”
Leonard Poe
-------------------------
This fellow, this Thomas, seemed pretty peeved at the fact that Shedinja was a cast off. Don’t get him wrong, Leonard felt it was wrong to toss pokemon aside like objects. But what was he to do? One person can’t make a difference in this world, especially when they are blind. He gently reached out, petting his Shedinja, letting it know he cared about it.
His pokemon companion gave a gentle buzz before guiding his master to what Leonard believed was his room. He quietly felt around the room, placing his bag on the floor and sitting at the desk, having been on his feet all day.
Not too long after he sat down did he hear the sound of the door opening.
"And you must be...Leonard?"
Leonard looked up at the voice, before hearing the buzz of his Shedinja and the sound of a Nidorino. He gave a nod in response.
“Hello,” He said with a small smile, “May I ask your name?”
“Oh, I’m Weston Avery,” he replied, “I’m your roommate. It’s says so on the doo-“ he trailed off, remembering Leonard was blind and thus couldn’t see the sign on the door.
“It’s ok,” he replied, being used to people forgetting he was blind. He had hoped the blindfold would act as a clear reminder. It didn’t. The two got talking, getting to know each other.
“So, is there anything to eat around here?” Weston asked, stretching as he stood up. Leonard merely shrugged. “No idea. I was just barely able to find the tower.” Now that he mentioned it, he was kind of hungry.
“Well then,” He slipped off the bed, “Let’s go find something then. I don’t know about you, but I’m starving. Let’s see if we can find anything.”
Well, it didn’t take much convincing. Even if he couldn’t see, it would be good to show Shedinja where it was. The two left the room, and soon left the tower, on an epic quest for food! (ok, it’s not so epic, but whatever).
As they walked through the grounds, Leonard heard a familiar voice.
“Hey guys, what’s up?” It was that girl Leonard had met when they were getting their I.D. pictures taken.
“Hey,” Leonard replied. Weston nodded and gave a similar gesture. He then heard her scold her Flareon before she suddenly went quiet.
“Um, hello?” Weston asked. It was clear she was still there, just not talking, “Hello? You there?”
She seemed to snap out of it. “I’m sorry, what did you say?”
“You just zoned out for a moment,” Weston explained, “We’re looking for some food around the place. You want to come?”
Dru Pyronson, 15, Sophomore
Static in my head, lines blood red…
I blushed. Not some slight, girly blush, either. We’re talking hardcore blushing. I didn’t space out as much as I used to, but I still did on occasion. To do so in front of such a delectable specimen as this guy was, well… highly embarrassing. I made a mental note not to space out again.
I stood and stretched. “Well, according to my map here, this would be the food place,” I said, gesturing to the doors behind me. “Dinner is scheduled to be served…” I pulled out my phone and flipped it open. “Any minute now, actually.”
At that moment, there was a clicking noise as the doors were unlocked, and we had our first glimpse of the cafeteria/assembly hall. Well, except for Leonard. I wondered briefly what it would be like to go about my life without being able to see.
Inside the hall, there were long tables, five total, side by side in the sunken center of the room. A middle level, which surrounded the lower level, was populated by random small round tables. The uppermost level, the level even with the hallway, had small rectangular tables that ran around three sides of the room and another row that ran along the wall with the middle sunken level. The fourth side of the room consisted of two separate serving lines, each appearing to have different menu choices, and several vending machines with Pokemon food. Potted plants filled in the empty spaces at random intervals throughout the room, and ramps connected the different levels of the room.
Servers were bringing food out to the serving lines as we stood there, marveling at the huge room. Well, the cute guy and I were; Leonard was just kind of there, trying to figure what was going on, no doubt. Torch had other ideas; she bolted out from behind me, nearly bowled one kid over, and made a beeline for the Pokemon food.
I sighed. “I guess I know who’s getting first dibs on food today.” I slumped my shoulders and followed my partner.
“Just one minute, there, miss!” A grouchy old lady yelled at me. “You have to pay first!”
“But, my Fla-“
“No pay, no food! Your ID card,” she demanded, holding out a hand. I dug around in my pockets and produced the card in question. She slid it through a reader stuck to the side of a computer. A green light flashed on and it beeped. “OK, then, you’re good to go,” she grumbled, as if disappointed that I was really a student. I took my card back and put it back in my pocket, looking around for Torch the whole while.
I found her, standing in front of the vending machines, her big, black eyes mirroring them. I also found her idolatry of food slightly disturbing. It wasn’t like it was anything new, but it hadn’t been driven to this height for quite some time. I felt kind of bad for not bringing anything for her with, but what was I to do after the fact?
I grabbed a bowl from the table next to the machines, filled it with food, and went looking for a table, Torch dancing around me the whole time. I found Leonard, looking disgruntled, sitting alone.
“Hey there, again; something the matter?” I asked him, putting the bowl of food down on the floor for Torch, who immediately began to stuff herself.
“No, nothing…”he said, facing his food but not eating. I raised an eyebrow, but didn’t pursue it.
“I’ll be right back… Torch, behave yourself.” Torch didn’t even bother to look up at me.
Retrieving a plate of spaghetti for myself with a glass of water, I returned to the table where Leonard sat with his Shedinja. The hunk from earlier was with him, and they were talking. Both fell silent as I approached.
“Uhhhh… Hi… You don’t mind if I sit here, do you?” I glanced around; all the tables that I could see were already claimed by someone, so I was going to have to stick my neck out and be social. Torch bolted out from under the table and proceeded to give me a piece of her mind for leaving her with a pair of boys.
“No, of course not,” Leonard finally piped up. The other guy was just staring at me, which made me uncomfortable; he probably took one look at me and labeled me as some kind of freak. Not that I wasn’t, mind you, but being labeled as such by someone who didn’t know me was annoying. Still… he made me more anxious than angry.
After a few seconds, he seemed to realize that he was staring and looked away. I took a breath, not having noticed that I’d been holding it. I swallowed and sat down next to Leonard. He, at least, didn’t make me uncomfortable.
As I sat down, an Espeon wandered up to our table, looking at Torch. Torch stared back, ears twitching, then looked up at me, as if to say, ‘what’s his deal?’
“Oh, there you are… Sorry about that,” a girl I assumed was the Espeon’s trainer said as she came up. She looked at the Espeon for a few moments, then back up at us. “Hi, I’m Berezi, would you mind if I sat with you? Just about everywhere else is full.”
The name rang a bell. “Hang on, you’re my roommate, I think,” I said. “Can’t be too many people with that name running around here, huh? I’m Dru. Go ahead, sit, I don’t think we’ll bite.”
She sat, her Espeon and my Torch still eyeing eachother, almost measuring eachother up. I couldn’t tell if this was a good or bad thing. I supposed that we’d find out soon.
I attacked my spaghetti with vengeance, but still politely, hungry myself after a day’s ride from Cinnabar. I’d skipped lunch in order to get here early. It wasn’t the best spaghetti I’d ever had, but certainly not the worst. I was still contemplating my meal when Berezi asked what our focuses were.
“Oh, I’m Advanced Battle Techniques, myself. I heard that tons of people are signed up for it. It should be fun, I guess. I hope it’s a challenge, I could use that after being at the Gym in Cinnabar all summer,” I said, and looked at the others. “What about you guys?”
"Oh so YOU'RE my roommate, I see. I'm guessing that's your Flareon my Espeon just took an interest in.", she said taking a seat.
"Yep, that's Torch.", she replied. "Oh I see, his name's Azeri."
Dru began to converse, she herself was always taught that people shouldn't really talk when eating but considering this was a more relaxed setting she went along with it, she wasn't really into following customs, especially when around other people her age.
Berezi'd begun to take a bite out of the lamb she'd picked up when Dru asked about majors, so it took her about a minute to answer, the meat was okay but it definitely wasn't winning any awards any time soon. "Bleh, overcooked", she said finishing her bite and then looking up.
"Advanced Battle Techniques over here", said Leonard.
"Cool, I'm a Technology major myself. Battling's not my strong point but, Azeri proves himself to be tough when I need him to be.", the cat looked up and gave an acknowledging mew in response.
"You're Tech? So am I", Weston said. Berezi looked up to the other young man sitting with them.
"Cool. My name's Berezi Aiza. What's yours?", "Weston. Weston Avery.", replied the young man. He reached out with his hand. She shook it.
Azeri'd been sizing up Torch alright... he didn't really know what to make of her and he'd been used to getting looks, so he just went about the business of eating the bowl that'd been placed before him while the Flareon continued to stare at him.
There was a look in its eyes and the Espeon wasn't sure if it was bewilderment, embarrasment or just plain ambition. Whatever it was he wasn't sure whether or not to be comfortable around her. One thing's for sure if he had any qualms he'd have to suck it up consdering their respective trainers were roommates.
He continued to eat while taking quick glances up to see if the Flareon'd moved any occasionally.
"Technology? You like that stuff? I haven't met too many girls in Tech.", Dru said.
"There aren't, it's usually boys. I guess you can call me a bit of a she-nerd.", she said taking a swig of the iced tea then cutting out another bite of the lamb.
"At least you don't worry about competition.", Dru said. "Sure I do, haven't you ever heard of a brainy girl? Guys would kill for one of those!", replied Berezi. "Nah, they'd rather you do their homework.", they both started laughing. Berezi'd grown used to not having many friends, it was nice to finally be in some good company.
"If nerd and girl equals true say do my homework please!", Weston said.
"Gimme a three page essay and I'm good", Leonard chimed in.
They all started laughing. They'd finally managed the break the ice.
"So, since your both battlers, I'm guessing you guys have some kinda background in it?", Berezi said looking at Dru and Leonard. She may not have had many friends but she knew how to make conversation
"I come from Cinnabar Gym.", Dru replied.
Berezi was thoroughly impressed, she'd never met a gym trainer.
"Most people don't really think I can battle, I just want to prove them wrong", Leonard said, he seemed to keep to himself quite a bit.
"Well it looks like my Flareon's taken quite an interest in your Espeon.", Dru said looking under the table.
Torch was still staring at Azeri and he took his usual approach and remained neutral for the time being.
”Dorms dorms dorms” I whispered idly to myself, scanning the map for directions to the ‘tower’ that I was assigned to, a place called: Solaria. “What kind of name is Solaria? It sounds like some kind of legendary Pokemon.” I wondered out loud, glancing over at the little green Pokemon who had crawled up to be perched on my shoulder, with my hair cascading down her leaf it was almost impossible to determine where my hair ended and where Chiko’s leaf began.
“Well if we can’t find it by nightfall we can always sleep on one of the benches” I laughed, causing Chiko to let out a soft groan as she buried her head into my shoulder. I let out a similar sigh, how did my older sister survive so easily, the campus was so vast and it was so easy to get lost in.
My attention slowly turned to the name Solaria, it seemed so unique that I just had to know if it was a Pokemon. “Solaria, Solaria, Solaria” I began to repeat the word over and over again as I folded the map back up, and brought out the pokedex from my back pocket, my attention focused entirely on it. There was Snubbull, Solrock, Spearow, but no Solaria, then again it could be one of those rare Pokemon that was kept in secret!
“Hey watch…” I tore my face away from the Pokedex just in time to run face first into something blue and scaly! I let out a scream in shock as I stumbled backwards, Chiko clinging for dear life as I tried to regain my balance. “You can’t just walk around with your head buried in your Pokedex” The woman smiled, holding a blue Pokemon who’s name I believe started with T, the Pokemon rubbing it’s snout which I must have ran into.
“Sorry I was just..” My mind flashed back to the Pokedex and I realized how silly the whole event was, I was in high school and I was looking in my Pokedex for a Pokemon that didn’t even exist. “I was just looking for Solaria tower!” I slid my Pokedex back into my back pocket, hoping she would buy the quick subject change.
The girl blinked for a second before seeming to realize I was one of the new freshmen “Oh, continue on the walkway, take the second left, and then the first right after that.”
I gave her a quick thanks and rushed past her, now if I could only get to my dorm with out running into anyone or anything, or making it look like I was completely clueless about Pokemon, maybe my stomach would untangle from the knot it had slowly twisted into when Rachel left me while I was getting registered.
“Well this is it..” I ran my fingers over the doorknob to the assigned room, inside would be the room where I would be spending my first year away from home, my first room outside of my parents house. The very idea caused me to slightly shake in excitement and fear. “Ready Chiko?” I glanced over at her, only for her to open her mouth in response, showing she was hungry.
I could only smile back, I was hungry as well but first thing first we needed to settle in. With a quick turn of the knob I opened the door and took my first step into my new life.
“Hello room mate!” I called out
Ugh glad the holidays are over and I can start RPing again
Jen - Joltaria
------------
We continued talking until the sun started to set, which was always a pretty sight. I stared at the increasingly vibrant pink/orange/blue sky until I absentmindedly checked my watch.
"It's 5:30," I said after Holly finished her sentence. "The cafeteria should be open now. Want to get some dinner?"
"Yeah," she nodded. "I haven't eaten since noon. You can go on ahead though, I need to check in on Tahoma and see how she's doing."
I nodded and started back to the school. People were still out and about, playing sports or engaging in battles, but a lot also appeared to head back inside, probably thinking about food as well.
Looking at the map, getting to the cafeteria didn't take long, though a crowd was going the same way so it seemed rather redundant. After getting my card swiped by a surly looking woman and looking around to make sure the coast was clear, I released Caine, who stretched and then looked up at me.
"Dinner," I replied. I pointed to a Pokemon feeding station and then a buffet line with human food. "Go get some food and then meet me at the buffet. Then we'll find a place to sit."
He nodded once and scurried off, apparently as hungry as I was. A line had formed at the buffet but thankfully it moved quickly enough.
"My my, look at the selection," I murmured.
The amount of choices was really quite staggering as they managed to include every single type of food you could think of. After mulling it over, I finally settled on steak, mashed potatoes, and a salad. I liked a good burger as much as anyone but I figured best to get in a solid meal before the first day of classes.
I met back with Caine, who was carrying bowls of food and water in each claw. I scanned the cafeteria to look for an empty table but bit my lip when I couldn't find one. I wasn't fantastic at socialization but I also didn't want to go back to my room and eat alone.
"Fuck," I said under my breath.
I sighed and looked around again. My eyes settled upon a girl eating alone at a table with a Pikachu at her side.
"Joltaria - better than a stranger from another tower," I said to Caine and walked over.
"Mind if I join you?" I asked the girl as we came up.
Tana Renais and Reannon
Freshman, 14, Solaria, Medical
Perplexed
~*~*~*~*~*~
The door to the room busted open, and in came a girl shorter than Tana (if that was even possible!?) with long green hair and hazel eyes. “Hello room mate!” she declared, and Tana just stared at her dumbfounded, nearly dropping Reannon, her beloved Nidorina, as she lifted her up. “I’m Tiffany, and this is Chiko, my Chikorita! What’s your name?”
The little green Pokemon yelled out an energetic, “Chiko!” and Tana smiled nervously.
“Ah… um… hi…” she replied and sat Reannon on her lap, hugging her closely almost as if she wanted to hide her own face behind her companion as she sat up on her bed. “I-I’m Tana… and uh… this um… my Nidorina… Reannon…”
“Nido nido!” she grinned toothily and raised a clawed paw.
Tiffany bounded in and around the room; looking around with such awe, amazement, and enthusiasm that Tana nearly fell off her bed instead of hopping off in a futile attempt to escape. “Hey Chiko, look it’s so big! Wow, look at the view!” the smaller girl exclaimed as she ran to the window. “This campus is huge! How many… whaddya call ‘em? They’re big and blue and white and they weigh a ton! I think it started with a W…”
“Wailord?” she asked timidly, wanting to shrink away.
“Yeah, that’s the one! How many Wailords can fit here, do you think?”
“Um…”
Her roommate gasped and looked over at her apologetically. “Oops, I’m sorry, got carried away again! My older sister’s here, too, and so I’m excited to finally be in the same school as her!” she rambled on as she unpacked some of her stuff, Tana had already put most of the important stuff away (or what she herself thought was important, anyway) and left some boxes filled with some of the smaller knickknacks piled up neatly within her closet.
“Y-Yeah, that’s understandable…”
“My sister is really amazing! She’s really smart and talented and she’s senior class president and…” she seemed to look dejected for a moment and then continued with that energetic attitude of hers, “Never mind. Do you have any brothers or sisters that attend LVH?”
Tana shook her head.
“Oh… well, have you picked on your major or area of focus yet?”
“I… um… I’m majoring in Medicine… I think…”
“I didn’t pick yet, but I think I still have time!” A loud rumbling filled the room, and Tiffany laughed nervously. “Ehehehehe… I guess I’m a little hungry…”
“Um… why don’t we go get dinner? If we leave now, hopefully we’ll get there before everyone starts crowding in…”
“Yeah, let’s go!” Tiffany exclaimed and grabbed Tana by the arm, dragging her out of their room with Reannon rushing to catch up.
“D-Do you even know where you’re going?” Tana squeaked as they went down the fifth unknown hallway.
“It shouldn’t be too hard to find, I think we’re getting close!”
“B-But… i-if we’re getting close, then we should be able to smell the food…”
“Don’t worry about it everything will turn out fine!”
“U-Um… Tiffany… we’ve gone d-down this hallway twice already…”
“Really?”
“Y-Yeah…” Tana was about to continue, but it seemed that Tiffany crashed into an upperclassman, and a really cranky-looking one at that. Her Charmelon seemed good-natured enough, though.
“Ow! What’re you—Tiffany?! This is Flaria, not the cafeteria; didn’t I tell you not to bother me?! I have a lot of work to do, and I don’t need you messing things up for me!”
“I-I’m sorry, Rachel…” her roommate whimpered, seeming as if she were on the verge of tears.
The upperclassman rubbed her temples for a moment, looking seriously pissed off. The Charmeleon, on the other hand, groaned. Tana took this moment to get a better look at her, in case she needed to escape from her at any time. She was pretty tall, had black long hair, and hazel eyes. When it seemed like she calmed down, she spoke. “You’re heading toward the cafeteria, right? I happen to be going the same way, so I’ll take you there. You’re her friend, so make sure she stays out of trouble, got it?” she commanded sternly, pointing a finger in her face.
“What’s with this girl? I hardly even know her or Tiffany!” Tana bit back a nasty remark. “I-I… u-um… o-okay…”
Rachel looked pleased with herself and took a step forward. “Good, now let’s hurry up before all the good stuff’s taken!” Tiffany was surprisingly quiet during the walk to their destination, and Rachel didn’t seem like one for conversation.
When they finally got there, Tana gasped in awe and exchanged an excited glance with Reannon. The cafeteria was huge, and the aroma of food made her hungrier than ever. She got onto the nearest line with Reannon close by and loaded a modest selection of food onto her tray: a Caesar salad topped with chicken and some ranch dressing, a bowl of fruit salad, a bottle of pecha berry juice. The petite girl wormed her way through clusters of students and finally ended up near the vending machines to get food for Reannon when she realized that she’d separated from her new acquaintances. The two wandered around for a bit before noticing a boy with a distinctive black buckled coat and light brown hair. He was alone at a table and had a large spread in front of him. She shuffled her way over to him and smiled shyly, blushing faintly. “Um… do you mind if I sit here?”
~*~*~*~*~*~*~* Sebastian *~*~*~*~*~*~*~
As Sebastian walked through the hallways of the Flaria dormitory he took a look around at all the other new students talking with each other and playing with their pokemon. Mary Celeste looked at him and started tugging at his shirt trying to drag him outside.
“What’s the matter Mary?” asked Sebastian.
“Mis, miss magius” came the reply as she started eating his coat.
“Are you hungry?” Sebastian asked as he tried to pull Mary Celeste off his coat.
“Miss” shouted Mary Celeste as she moved away from Sebastian and nodded her head.
“Fine lets get you something to eat then” sighed Sebastian as he kept walking through the halls. Finally the duo reached the main door of the Flaria dormitory and flung it open letting the sun wash over him warming him up a little. Putting his arms behind his back stretching his whole body, the picking up his legs and stretching them before getting ready to walk. “Ah it feels nice to not have to carry all that heavy luggage, now which way is the cafeteria?” Sebastian spied a map of the campus nearby by and started perusing it over. “Now if we are her, and the cafeteria is her, then we go that way” shouted Sebastian as he pointed to the north “Let’s go” with that Mary Celeste and Sebastian speed towards the cafeteria. The pair jumped over seats and through crowded paths pushing people aside in an effort to get to the food as quick as possible.
“Oi” yelled one distraught student whose foots Sebastian had just stepped on.
“Sorry” apologised Sebastian as he turned his head around to look at the confusion he had just created. Finally the grand hall of the cafeteria that lay before him, pushing the large glass doors aside he walked in and took a deep breath. The aromas of the food washed over his nose like a great wave of pleasure making him want to have as much food as he could eat. Moving over to the end of the line Sebastian picked up a tray and started moving slowly with the rest of the line. Getting very impatient at the speed of the line he started shifting from foot to foot before it was finally his turn, looking over the great spread of food that lay before him Sebastian start scooping all the food that he could fit onto his tray then gave what he owed to the cashier and then carried the massive pile of food to a table and started tucking in.
“Misssss” cried Mary Celeste as she looked around for her food.
“Oh Sorry Mary here is yours” Sebastian said as he pushed a small bowl of pokemon food towards Mary. The delighted pokemon started eating the food looking like she hadn’t had anything in ages. “This is really good” Sebastian beamed as he started cutting into a very large steak.
“Um, do you mind if I sit here?” came a familiar voice. Sebastian looked up from his food to see the same girl that he had bumped into earlier today; there was another girl with her that had long dark green hair and both of them carrying trays of food.
“Sure” Sebastian replied, sliding over and making some room on the table for them. “My name is Sebastian by the way” he said as he outstretched his hands.
“Hi I am Tana” replied the girl he met before while she shook his hand “And this is my roommate Tiffany” Tana pointed to the green haired girl next to her and she gave a small bow before returning to eating her food.
“So how are you liking the college so far?” asked Sebastian as he started on a bowl of soup.
“Not too bad” replied Tiffany through bites “I can’t wait till classes start”
“Me either” added in Tana as she ate her salad.
“Yeh hopefully they will be as good as everyone says they will be” Sebastian stated as he finished off the soup and moved on to a large bowl of rice. “What dorm are you guys in?” he asked as he started chowing down on the rice.
“We are both in Solaria” answered Tiffany “We are also room mates, we just decided to get something to eat and that’s how we ended up here. What about you?”
“Ah I am in Flaria, but I am not sure who my room mate is yet.” Sebastian replied as he finished off the bowl of rice and picked up another one. “Though I am not sure if I really like it, too many fire pokemon for my liking”
“Wow that is the same dorm my sister is in” Tiffany said still eating her dinner. “You might know her, her name is Rachel.”
“No haven’t really met anyone yet really, I have only had enough time to finally unpack my stuff” Sebastian replied once again after finishing another bowl of rice and picking up a third one. “I was just about to take a walk around the campus, you want to join me?”
“Sure” answered Tana putting down her finished plate on the table and standing up ready to go.
“Sounds like a good idea” added Tiffany also finishing of her meal.
“Ok let’s get going then” Sebastian said as he put his final bowl next to a large pile of used bowls. “Mary, we have to get going”
“Misssss” cried Mary as she rose from her bowl looking all refreshed.
“Whoa, nice Mismagius” beamed Tana as she looked at Mary Celeste floating in the air. “Do you have any other pokemon?”
“Yes” replied Sebastian “I have over 100 different pokemon”
“That’s pretty cool, exactly how many do you have?” asked Tiffany.
“Ummm, 101” answered Sebastian as he looked at the ground. “How about you guys?”
“Well I have my Reannon with me, she is a Nidorina” Tana replied.
“And I have a Chikorita called Chiko” added Tiffany.
“Cool” Sebastian uttered “Come on, we should get going.” The four of them walked out of the cafeteria and across the school grounds taking in all the sites.
“Wow” exclaimed Tana “This is a pretty big campus”
“Yeh” agreed Tiffany as she started up at the tall buildings which seem to go on forever.
“Hey” piped up Sebastian “Isn’t that Layla Nejem?” he asked as he pointed at a young looking girl up ahead.
“Who is Layla Nejem?” asked Tiffany.
“Who is Layla Nejem, who is Layla Nejem. She is only the teacher of the Advanced Battle Techniques class here, she is a great trainer.” replied Sebastian in an excessive tone.
“Is she really that good?” inquired Tana.
“Yes she is, I must battle her” Sebastian said as he ran up to her “Excuse Ms Nejem, but would you mind battling me?”
“Uhh, sure I guess” replied Layla with a stunned expression on her face. “We can have a battle right here, but I must warn you I am the head of battle techniques here”
“Oh I know” smirked Sebastian as he prepared himself “Go on Mary, give ‘em hell”
“Misssss” growled Mary Celeste looking very fierce.
“Hmmm, a Mismagius” sighed Layla “Come one Serkan show them how it is done.” As Layla uttered the name a large green dragon with large eyes descends from the skies and comes to rest.
“Flyyyyy” roared the dragon flapping its wings.
“Let’s get this on get it with a Psychic” ordered Sebastian. Mary gave a small nod and she started to glow a dark purple creating an aura around her which also appears around Serkan, then using this new power she throws Serkan around the grounds like a rag doll before flinging him into the ground.
“Playing dirty are we? Serkan hit it with a Crunch” The large dragon nodded and flew towards Mary with its mouth wide open baring its fangs ready to snap.
“Use Flash then dodge it” Mary’s eyes started to glow a bright white before releasing a blinding light causing Serkan to lose his vision momentarily giving Mary enough time to move out of the way of the attack and for Serkan to slam in the ground.
“Keep going and use Sandstorm to blind her” Serkan started flapping her wings kicking up a lot of dust from the ground and throwing it into the air creating a massive sandstorm.
“Don’t worry about it and use Rain Dance to get rid of the storm” Mary looked to the sky and send a shot of water through the sand and into the clouds causing them to cackle with lightning and brings down heavy rand causing the sandstorm to disappear.
“That rain isn’t going to help us to much but keep persisting with an Air cutter” Serkan turned his body around using his wings to create a small slice of air which flies through the rain and hits Mary.
“Keep going Mary and hit it with an Ice Beam” Mary opened her mouth and fired a beam of concentrated ice through the rain freezing it as it goes along before hitting Serkan sending him spiralling down into the ground.
“Get up Serkan and use Supersonic”
“Counter that with Screech Mary” With that Serkan belts out a super sonic blast which travels across the field towards Mary, she also opens her mouth and screams at the top of her lungs sending forth a shrieking pitch of her own. The two waves of sound collide producing an even bigger sound which sends forth shockwaves breaking the windows of the buildings around them.
“Hey” shouted a voice from one of the buildings “Will you two stop fighting and get out of here, I think you have caused enough damage”
“Ah well, this was to be expected” said Layla flicking her hair back “Come back Serkan, we have work to do. I will see you later kid”
“I demand a rematch though” yelled Sebastian as Layla walked away.
“Calm down Sebastian” said Tana trying to soothe him.
“Yeh, please” added Tiffany.
“Ahhh sorry, I just got a little ticked off that I wasn’t able to finish it” Sebastian sighed as he kicked a nearby chair. “Let’s just get back to the dorms, maybe then I can calm down a bit, or back to the cafeteria for some steak”
A pocketed Dugtrio is in no way keeps the earthquakes away
*****
“Ngghhh.” Karen felt as if she had just woken up from a 12 hour plus nap. It looked like it was dawn, and the shore was yet to be seen, and she doubt they were going to be there anytime soon.
It was one of those days – even rarer than a blue moon – where her mother was actually with Karen and her father. It was her mother that insisted on coming, saying how she was ‘to ensure that Karen gets the proper education’ (whatever that means).
“So. How is Lapras Valley High? I mean, there’s the brochure and all, but what is it like, really?”
“Oh, it’s…quite big,” her father said vaguely.
“It is many times bigger than that last school that you went…. occasionally.” Her mother glanced at her husband.
“Well, at least she still will be going to LVH, yeah?”
“Yes, all right. But, Karen dear, we did went there some time ago, remember?”
“Ohhhhhhh…”
“That would be about, maybe, about ten years ago or so, when she was not as-” her father abruptly stopped himself, remembering that the said person was right there with him.
“Crazy?” Karen added.
*
‘Wow, this place is definitely a lot bigger than I remembered it’
It was nine years ago that her mother had took her, so her memory was very fuzzy.
‘Lesse… when mum took me here, we went to the central building. And there was the towers… okay, so mine is this one, which would be… right around here… or is it that way?’
After much more walking – and later realizing that she was actually going opposite the direction she was supposed to be heading – she finally arrived at Solaria tower, where she was going to stay for the next couple of years; or something like that, she figured.
She fished out a pokeball. ‘Okay, Rayleigh, where’re gonna be heading to our room… well, but I guess you cannot go out yet, because… uh, something about how not the earthquake, but the building that…?”
She trailed off, as she noticed a small group of people forming. She looked at Rayleigh (in which Rayleigh returned the look with a look that a Dugtrio inside a pokeball could possibly give), glanced at the group, and then, after a brief consideration, decided that sorting her belonging was more important at the moment. Besides, her back was aching from walking from morning to evening.
*
After a very quick round of arranging her items – her roommate was not in the room, and Karen assumed she was out for dinner– she was back at where the crowd used to be, only that there were gone, and that some of the windows are broken. (‘And there wasn’t any earthquake, even…’)
Seeing that the battle had just finished, she decided to take a looked around the place. There was not that many people at the time – eating dinner, probably – and everything else seems to be quite ordinary.
But then something caught her attention: it was girl with a Chikorita. ‘Ah, she must be from Solaria too…’ was what earlier came to her mind, but then she noticed how the girl was short and all. And another thing was…
“Yooooo! Nice hair!” she remarked as the girl was passing beside her.
The girl’s eyes widen. (It was then that it occurred to her how the comment could be taken as a sarcastic remark)
“Really?”
(A mental sigh) “Ya, really.”
“You’re the first to think so! Okay, so maybe the first person, after Chiko. But, my sister doesn’t like it though. She said they make me look like a potted plant. ”
“Ahahah- uhh. I’d say more towards a tree, like. You know, with the-.” Karen made some gestures to indicate the part of the tree in question. The girl doesn’t seem to catch the reference.
“I made them to look just like Chiko’s leaf! See?” Karen saw that it was true; when her hair was compared to the Chikorita’s leaf, both were almost perfect match. “Oh! And my sister, she’s here, too! She’s a senior from, uh, Fla… Flo…ria?”
“Flaria?”
“Yeah, Flaria! Cause she keeps Blaze with her, while I have Chiko with me, so I’m staying in Solaria. How about you? Are you from Flaria?”
“Nahh, I’m staying in Solaria too… I’m Karen. And my Dugtrio here…” She was about to release Rayleigh, but then hesitated. “…well, I don’t think he’d like to come out. His name is Rayleigh, and… he’s a Dugtrio. Yeah. And… you?”
“Amazing…” I said through the fingers I had clasped over my mouth, watching a senior and teacher go at it, this close; it was leagues above anything I saw at the testing and competition with other hopeful students. The thunder seemed to highlight the energy that seemed to crackle in the atmosphere between the two as the battle raged on in front of me. Even the sting of rain drops that had begun to fall wasn’t enough to tear my eyes away.
I wanted to do this, to create such energy and excitement, to create a battle that seemed more like a force of nature than just two pokemon going at each other. I was able to tear my eyes away to look down at Chiko, the little pokemon seemed to be just as mesmerized as I was at what was unfolding before us. The ability to call out attacks with out using a guide, to plan strategy almost one or two moves ahead, it was truly amazing.
“Counter that with Screech Mary” Sebastian’s attack call brought me back to the battle, I was able to turn back just in time to see the sound waves collide resulting in a explosion in sound so loud I could swear it pierced my ear drums as I gripped my ears and dropped to a knee. Again I looked at Chiko, the little Pokemon would have no way to protect her own ears, to my surprise she hadn’t moved, instead she remained focused intensely on the battle despite the horrible noise that had shattered windows all around us. It was as if she wanted to battle after seeing this as much as I did, if not more.
The battle quickly quieted down as people began to complain about the broke windows. As the two combatants began to talk, I reached for my pokedex scanning through it to get a better idea of the attacks they had used, why had the two combined in such a way, could more attacks create such a fierce result if they struck at the right moment? My head seemed to be filled with questions I wanted to ask both Sebastian and the teacher at the moment.
“Yoooo, nice hair!” The sudden complement caught me by surprise as I turned my attention away from the pokedex, the tall girl with dark black hair was looking directly at me, or more specifically at my Chikorita leaf hair.
Could she really mean that? After everything sis had said, could some one actually like it? “Really?” I asked almost breathlessly, my heart still pounding from the battle.
“Ya, really.” She replied, as I felt like I could explode, finally some one not only seemed to like the style, but combine that with the amazing battle, and my first day at school, things were really starting to turn around!
“You’re the first to think so! Okay, so maybe the first person, after Chiko. But, my sister doesn’t like it though. She said they make me look like a potted plant.” I explained, the words seemed to tumble out of my mouth with out any inhibition. I had almost forgotten about Sebastian and Tana.
“I’d say more towards a tree, like. You know, with the” She made some gestures toward something but at this moment I was far too high up on cloud nine to notice or care.
“I made it to look just like Chiko’s leaf! See?” I waved at Chiko who seemed to be on pins and needles, her eyes focused directly on the new girl, her body tense in a way I had never seen it before. “Oh! And my sister, she’s here too! She’s a senior from Fla…Flo…ria”
“Flaria?”
“Yeah Flaria! Cause she keeps Blaze with her, while I have Chiko with me, so I’m staying in Solaria. How about you? Are you from Flaria?” The questions seemed to spill out of my mouth as fast as I could think them. The rush of excitement from the last few minutes felt as if I had just drank a dozen sodas.
“Nah, I’m staying in Solaria too, I’m Karen. And my Dugtrio here…” She pulled out her Pokeball and then hesitated. “Well, I don’t think he’d like to come out. His name is Rayleigh, and he’s a Dugtrio. Yeah, and you?”
I was about to answer only to notice a small rumbling coming from Chiko, almost like a growl as she remained focused on Karen’s pokeball. “S-Sorry about that!” I quickly scooped up Chiko who squirmed to get away. This was so unlike her.
“We just saw the battle with Sebastian, it was so amazing!” I began to laugh in embarrassment as I placed Chiko down on the ground. “So amazing that I think Chiko wants to battle now.” I explained as reality began to sink back in as the thrill of the battle wore off. I wanted to battle, but… was I getting in over my head?
Nayia Waterflower aka starmie44
24th March 2010, 02:47 PM
Name: Nayia Waterflower (oh yeah, the one, the only, the original, returning one more time ;p )
Gender: Female
Age: 16
Class: Sophomore
Pokemon: Dratini (Nixie, female)
She found Nixie's egg alone on the beach when she was seven, and took care of it till it hatched. Nixie is fairly high in level and could be a Dragonair, but loves hanging on Nayia's shoulders too much to evolve and Nayia respects Nixie's wishes.
Physical Description:
Is 5'4" with wavy blond hair with blue and green streaks down to her mid back. Has sea green eyes, fair skin and a curvy yet fit body.
Clothes usually consist of low waist, dark blue flared jeans with a tank top or holter top over her bikini top (colors usually different shades of greens, blues, purples, pinks, white and browns). Likes to wear high heel sandles as well as a seashell necklace with matching ankle bracelet and earrings. Tends to have her finger and toe nails painted with designs.
Personality:
She's a sweet, nice and very friendly girl (she likes to give out hugs to her friends). Very open-minded about things, but stubborn with her opinions and can get a little jealous of other people for a few things, but tries not to let that get the best of her. Though she can be seen as carefree and socialable, she can be mature and serious when the situation arrisies.
Also very loyal. Despite her looks, she's pretty intelligent and loves to read and write as much as surf and swim, but she tends to play up her naive looks so people will undersetiment her on the battlefield.
History:
Her hometown is Cerulean City where both of her parents are pokemon professors so are always busy. She has three over-protective older brothers named River, Conway and Ronan. The Cerulean Sister are her cousins (Misty, Daisy, Violet, and Lily) and since she is so close to them, she is consisted the fifth Cerulean Sister and has even been the gym leader when needed.
When she was a five, Nayia was stuck in the biggiest fire that Cerulean had ever had. It started at a restuarant, which was about to fall in on her. Dru's brother, Martin saved her, but hit his head and lost his memories for doing so.
A few years ago, she was friends with two guys, who were brothers, Luke, the young brother liked her and she liked him. When they had confest this to each other, the older brother Andy came by. He had problems and hatred Luke for he was good at everything and got everything he wanted, including Nayia. Andy took out a gun to shoot Nayia so either could have her, but Luke jumped in the way of the bullet. With Luke died, he advanced on Nayia, thinking he could have her now, but seeing how scared she was of him, he shot himself. After that, Nayia never trusted herself to love another guy, afraid something bad would happen to them.
Martin and Nayia got together in the first LVH (I think the group was 13 in the fan fic). It took a while though because of Nayia not wanting to be with any guy, Martin recalling his past, and another guy named Spike was also after Nayia's heart as well. Guess who won. ;P She also became good friends with Dru, Sal, ashley, Kayla, Craig, and the others of the old gang of LVH.
During the summer, since Misty was traveling and her other cousins wanted to focus on their watershow which was now touring the countries, Nayia became the gym leader during the summer. During this time, Martin became MIA, not even his twin sister knows what happened to him. She was going to attend LVH this year, but because Misty was still away she couldn't. Luckily her oldest brother River called their cousins to get permission to take over the job, which they agreed to since he has the qualitifications. She may be late and didn't have time to call Dru to tell her the news, but she is able to attend LVH now.
Relationships: Dru and any of the others from the old gang. Has lost contact with Martin, both herself and Dru believe him to be MIA. So I guess she's single ;P
Other: She owns a white Porsche convertible which she comes to school in. Is a dancer as well as a trainer, her focus is more on hip hop though she has a wide dance background, and likes to practice in the gym or more simple moves that doesn't involve breakdancing on the beach. Her major is Advance Battle Techniques and her tower is Aquaria.
I'll have a post up in a few minutes ^.~
Nayia Waterflower aka starmie44
24th March 2010, 02:59 PM
Nayia Waterflower, 16, sophomore, Aquaria
:147:~*~*~*~*~:147:
Nayia drove up to the school, turning into the visitors parking area since she would need to get her student’s parking permit inside. Putting her baby in park, she turned to her other baby in the passenger seat beside me. She smiled at Nixie, the dratini as she slept, her long body all curled up with her head resting on the open window. It seems she fell asleep while sunbathing during the long drive.
It was understandable. They were at the Cerulean gym since the early morning, watching a match between one of Cerulean’s apprentice trainers and an enthusiastic new trainer who wished to battle Nayia for the Cerulean gym badge.
Well, she was trying to concentrate on the match, but she was still sulking about the fact that her cousin Misty got held up and couldn’t return in time for Nayia to be relieved of her duties to go to school. She just sat at the edge of the pool in her chocolate brown and light pink bikini, pouting and kicking her feet in the water. Her dratini was in a similar mood, mimicking her trainer by her side with her tail end in the water, her body curled up and her head resting on the girl’s lap as she stared at the match in front of her in complete boredom.
It was a complete no brainer that the kid was going to lose. It was like the new trainer didn’t bother to take the time to develop a bond with his Pokémon and just went to the gym thinking he could win since his Pokémon had an elemental advantage. She could tell that this boy was going to just keep coming back like a mosquito, not letting whatever words of wisdom she said sink into his head until a month later.
Releasing a loud sigh of longing to be away at school, she closed her eyes and flopped on her back with her arms above her head. It was a few peaceful moments before she opened her eyes to look up at the ceiling, only to see her eldest brother, River standing over her with a grin on his face.
“Are you here to scare away all the cute guys again?” Nayia asked in a jaded tone. She was use to her three older brothers popping by the gym just to check up on her with lame excuses as cover-ups. She was their one and only baby sister and even if they teased and fought with her, when it came to her dating they were beyond over-protective.
“Sadly no,” River laughed, his brown eyes twinkling through his dark blue hair. “I got a hold of our sensational cousins to get you leave from duty.”
“You what!?!” Nayia bolted up, her sea green eyes wide in surprise.
“Yup, I’ll be taking over for you,” River barely finished the sentence before his little sister tackled him with a hug, words of thanks and gratitude rolling out of her mouth so fast he hardly heard half of it. He laughed at his sister, grinning down at her. “Yeah, you’re welcome. You know you better hurry and get on the road if you wanna make it in time.”
She pulled away from him in a panic. “You’re right! Oh no, I’m not even packed!” Running over to her stuff, she was quick to pull a short dark denim skirt over her bikini bottoms and slip a dark teal halter over her head. River almost laughed out loud at the sight of his little sister hopping around trying to dry her legs off with a towel and put on her pink high heel sandals at the same time.
“Come down,” he called after Nayia. “Conway and Ronan found the list you made of everything you needed and packed your bags for you.”
Nayia pause, staring at her eldest brother with a weird look on her face. “I don’t know if I should feel thankful for their help or disturbed by them touching my panties.”
River made an effort of looking like he was thinking it over. “Probably a little of both. I suggest you just double check your luggage before you hit the road.”
“Good idea. Come on Nixie!” Nayia grabbed her beach bag, took out the keys to her white Porsche before slinging it on her shoulder. Nixie went to take her usually place on Nayia’s shoulders, like a 5’11” long boa loosely draped over the girl’s shoulders, her long tail wrapped around her trainer’s upper hips like a long belt. As soon as the dragon Pokémon was secured Nayia bolted towards the gym entrance, only turning back to holler to her brother. “Thank again. And please don’t scare the younger trainers away with your Gyarados!”
“Damn, ruin my fun.” River called back. The young trainer who was still battling one of the gym apprentices looked between the siblings with horror, as if battling Nayia’s Pokémon was nothing compared to fighting River’s Gyarados. Nayia scuffed as she ran out the door to her car. The kid would have been fighting her own Gyarados, Drake if he by some miracle had managed to get the privilege to battle her. The only difference between the two dragons was that River’s would more than likely eat the boy. Of course River wouldn’t let that happen, but he’d get a laugh out of it before stopping it from happening.
That had been her early morning, along with checking and fixing anything in her luggage, grabbing the largest take out coffee she could get and hitting the road for a long drive. It was now almost six in the afternoon and she was contemplating waking up the sleeping dragon or leaving her be till she got her ID and parking permit. In the end, she decided that telling Nixie would be best. With a gentle smile, she stroked her hand over the dragon’s head and scratched between her winged ear, causing the Pokémon to wake up and stare drowsily at her friend.
“Hey sunshine,” Nayia cooed, “We’re here. I’m going to get my ID and parking permit. I’ll be back in a few minutes, okay?”
Nixie blinked her large black eyes and let of a cute yawn and a nod of her head as an answer before resting her head back down.
With that settled Nayia stepped out of her Porsche and made her way into the school and towards the administration office. The secretary greeted her with a tired smile, understandable seeing how she’s been dealing with students arriving all day. Nayia was quick to retrieve her driver’s license when the secretary asked for an ID and watched as the woman went through the drawer of a file cabinet to retrieve an envelope. Handing the blue envelope and ID to Nayia, she explained that the hallway to the right is where the students get their picture taken and their keycard.
“May I also get a parking pass please?” Nayia inquired.
“Of course,” She pulled out a form and a static cling sticker. “Just fill that out and put the sticker on your rear window.” Nayia gave a nod of understanding and swiftly filled out the form with her car’s information and description. Placing the sticker in her bag, she thanked and waved goodbyes to the secretary and made her way down the hallway she was told to go.
There wasn’t much of a line up since most of the students had arrived earlier. Nayia had enough time to run a brush through her hair and push her gold trimmed sunglasses to rest on her head before being waved over to sit on the stool. Nayia did as requested, smiling just in time before the light flash in her eyes. She blinked as few times to get her sight back as a whirring sound registered in her ears. Nayia’s blue student ID card popped out a few seconds later and the man gave it to her.
“It’s important you don’t lose this.” He said while handing it over, “It’s your key to your room, town, and all student grounds as well as your meal plan.”
“Thank you very much,” Nayia grinned and ran back down the hallway to the entrance of the school building. Once she reached her Porsche, she dug out the sticker from her bag and placed it on the back window before slipping into the driver’s seat and starting the car. Entering the student parking lot, Nayia parked her car and poked the dragon beside her.
“Come on sleepy head. Time to go in,” Nayia grinned at the half awake Pokémon. Nixie let out another yawn, slithering over to Nayia and making herself comfortable on the girl’s shoulders per usually. With her dragon friend draped over her shoulders, Nayia stepped out of the car and walked over to the truck. Nayia managed to carry most of her luggage while Nixie took hold of the largest bag with wheels, using her tail to hold the handle and let it drag behind the girl as she walked back towards the entrance.
Dugtrio dug some holes!
*****
Battle? Here, and now?
That was something that Karen had tried to avoid as much as possible, mainly because of two things. One: she was terribly bad at it; and two: she was aware at the impact of letting a Dugtrio out for no good reason (and that means a battle, which she never actually quite see the point of it).
“Well, um…”
“Yes?” the girl said expectantly.
Karen made some gestures that indicate that this girl hasn’t actually told her what her name is.
“Uh, little girl with green hair-”
“Tiffany Parker, actually.”
“Right. Um, you see, Tiffany…”
She assessed the situation: the area was in a mess, it was quite late in the afternoon, and it was her first day here and all, and this petite girl had just asked her for a battle.
She really shouldn’t get into trouble… she really shouldn’t.
“OK then, but-”
“Yes!” the girl exclaimed in a suppressed excited voice.
“But I gotta warn ya. I’m actually quite bad at this… just so you know.”
15 minutes later…
The situation looked almost like what it was since they started the battle, except for the addition of some shallow holes on the ground. And it was primarily because of their battle tactic, not because they were on par with each other or anything.
Tiffany, as Karen found out, seems to be rather new at battling (or, she suspected, Pokemon training), and spend practically every second looking at her Pokedex, and shouting her orders to her Chikorita in a slow and careful way.
Karen, on the other hand, practically did nothing more than telling Rayleigh to evade all of Chiko’s attack by – what else – digging underground.
It was a rather… well, it was actually a boring battle. It makes watching the process of the evolution of living beings seem much, much more interesting. Well, not really, but you get the idea.
“So, how’s the battle going?” Karen casually asked Tiffany, as if she was a spectator, and not a battler.
“Oh, quite good… I think!” she replied, seemingly not bothered at how dull the battle was.
“Ah, glad to hear that.”
Karen looked at her clock. Hmm, I guess we should well end this… else, I’ll miss dinner…
Then, rather very quickly, she shouted: “Rayleigh! Dig up!” (and then added, in a rather low voice) “But not too quick, you little vandal.”
Rayleigh came up, in a manner reminiscent to a mud volcano being formed. Unfortunately, Chiko, after having been frustrated at always being greeted with empty holes, had been conjuring up a plan: as soon as Rayleigh had emerged, she had leapt up out of harm’s way, and had scattered a handful of Poison Powder.
Rayleigh was anything but poisoned though (he was a ground type after all); he just stated ahead, the three heads bearing the look of amused, confounded, and annoyed.
“Quick, Chiko! Razor Leaf!”
“Uh, Slash that, Rayleigh!”
In a rather swift manner – faster than the eyes can see – Rayleigh had managed to slash on of the incoming Razor Leaf blades… well, one of them anyway; the rest struck him dead on, and Karen winced at the sound of rocks being scratched.
“Very good! Now, um… use-”
“Is it me, or is it suddenly hot in here…?”
Actually, she said this just as there was a stream of fire suddenly appeared in between them, effectively separating Karen from Tiffany. Noting the sudden appearance of the flames, she looked at Rayleigh, pointed a finger, and shouted “now you’ve done it! You caused the magma to come out!”
After a minute or two, the last of the flames were gone, but it took Karen an extra minute to realize that the source of the flame was from a trainer’s – a senior, it seems – Charmeleon. Oh, and speaking of the senior, she seems to be lecturing Tiffany, with the latter hanging her head low.
She decided to take a risk and poke her nose in.
“…didn’t I tell you to not do anything stupid?” the older girl ranted.
“S-sorry, Rachel…”
“And another thing… yes?” This was addressed towards Karen, who had by now besides them, looking rather sheepish and all.
“So. Whose fault is this? Is it normal, or reverse?” She paused, and after getting the awkward silence (she always get that; no one seems to get that joke), added, “right… um, OK, so it’s my fault, ‘cause I know, how Dugtrio are a potential threat to man-made infrastructures, but noo, I still wanna let him out. And look at this, the place was vandalized by someone beforehand – look at those windows – and I wonder-”
The upperclassman held up a finger, and gave a look that told Karen that she’d better shut the hell up. She did that rather quickly.
The girl sighed. “Is this your friend, Tiffany?”
“You see, this guy is her boyfriend… except that this guy is actually a gal, see,” Karen interjected, only to get the look again.
“OK… I won’t say nothing no more.”
Rachel Parker
http://www.upokecenter.com/pictures/dp/icons/icon005.gif
”Where is she..” I wondered out loud, leaving the cafeteria soon after I noticed that Rachel had already left. It was late already, and getting dark, and part of me did worry about her safety even though my nerves were already shot from the stress of the day.
The sound of rumbling ground caused my pace to increase, there were no battles scheduled at this time, and it was coming from the dorms, not the typical battlefields. “If some one is battling at this time..” I grumbled, knowing that the grounds keepers would give them holy hell if there was property damage. Then the blood drained from my face. “If Tiffany is battling…” My pace increased as the rumbling grew louder, by now I could make out the voices calling out commands in the distance.
With one hand on Blaze’s Pokeball, I rounded the corner and was hit by what felt like a hundred pound weight in my chest. The ground was torn up, glass littered everywhere, it was a picture perfect reason as to why you would not battle close to large buildings.
“Blaze, use flamethrower to separate the two” I called out as I tossed the Pokeball. He did exactly what I had trained him for, releasing a torrent of flames the moment he materialized out of the ball, separating the battling Pokemon before they even had a clue what was happening.
“What the hell are you doing?!” I raced over to Tiffany while the flames died down, I grabbed my sister and spun her around to face me, a look of horror and shock on her face from my sudden appearance. “Look at all of this damage, look at it!” I spat in anger, but was quickly checking her over for cuts or injuries from the falling glass.
“Who do you think is going to pay for this? To fix all of this?!” I shook her, even though deep down I was relieved she didn’t get hurt, I was still furious, and I had to act furious in front of everyone else, I couldn’t be seen giving her special treatment.
“S-Sorry Rachel” She offered a meager apology, her head held low.
“And another thing…” My eyes turned to the rather sheepish looking girl standing next to her, who looked like she wanted to speak. “Yes?” My voice crackled with anger as I turned my attention to her. The girl tried a joke, only to have my glare narrow onto her, she followed with a rambling reply about a Dugtrio until I cut her off in mid sentence.
“Is this your friend, Tiffany?” I asked once the girl had shut up, which was probably the best thing for her right now.
“You see, this guy is her boyfriend… except that this guy is actually a gal, see,” The rambling girl spoke up again, only to have my anger rise again, I was half tempted to have Blaze weld her mouth shut. “Ok… I won’t talk any more.”
Both girls looked pretty beaten down, and they should have, they did something stupid, and at this hour the results of their stupidity most likely would remain until morning. “You, are going to take both of the Pokemon to the Pokemon Center, Tiffany will be along in a moment, once you are done there, both of you can start cleaning up the glass so that no one steps on it in the morning.”
“But that might..” Tiffany spoke up, I glanced over at her and she quickly grew silent.
I glanced back at the other girl who seemed to be standing around dumb founded. I may not have the authority to order them around, but they didn’t know that and if the older teachers saw all this glass lying about… “What are you waiting for, GO!” I snapped at her, as she returned one Pokemon, and gathered up the other and scurried off.
I moved Tiffany over to the side, out of sight of any prying eyes, and allowed my shoulders to ease a little, some of the stress softening from my face. “We’re you winning?” I asked.
She looked down and away, her eyes searching as if she were trying to remember the battle. “I think.. I might have been!”
I cracked a small smile, and placed my hand on her head, rubbing it like I used to when we were little. “Good, now go join your friend.” I let her go; she nodded with a smile and ran off toward the Pokemon Center.
I turned away and began to walk back to my dorm, any trace of the smile gone; my shoulders bunched up again and filled with stress. My shield was back up.
I’ll add a post for Tiffany later today.
Coming from the opposing direction was a Flygon. It flew past Rachel and stopped abruptly in front of the mess and cried. Seconds later, Layla jogged past Rachel and stopped at the sight of the mess in front of her.
"al-lu'na!" (DAMN! in arabic), she cried. "What happened here?!", she turned her head to the only other person there. "Ms. Parker, do you know what happened here?"
"Yes.", she nodded as she said that. "Two people were battling here, I didn't see what caused it, though."
"Did you see who?", she asked.
"No, sorry by the time I got here they were already gone.", she said feigning cluelessness.
Layla put her hand on her head. "The maintenance crew is not going to be happy about this.... one day before the start of the term.", she walked off down the hall "Serkan, keep a look out here I'm going to get someone to clean up, Ms. Parker if you don't mind keeping a watch as well, the perpatrators may come back."
"No problem.. but, I'll be going back to my dorm to change."
Serkan nodded and floated around for a few minutes as if surveying the damage and then turned to Rachel who just kind of stared at him and then walked off to change without another word.
About 20 minutes later...
It was indeed a battle that had taken place there and the several janitors that there were RATHER unhappy having to clean up. "You have any idea who did this Ms. Nejem?", said one of the crew members.
"Well, from the looks of it.... the trainers are rather inexperienced at battling.... so that could narrow it down quite a bit.", she said staring at all the holes in the ground.
"Any idea of the pokemon?"
"Well, one of them was DEFINITELY a ground-type, that's for sure.. Lets not blow this out of proportio--"
"Ma'am, this is the second instance of this happening, perhaps we ought to inform the administration this could be a problem?", the janitor said in a rather serious tone.
"I'll take care of that myself then.", she said walking quickly down the hall "Serkan!", she called to the Flygon which immediately flew off after its trainer.
Nayia Waterflower aka starmie44
4th April 2010, 07:06 PM
Nayia Waterflower, 16, sophomore, Aquaria
:147:~*~Nixie~*~:147:
It didn’t take too long to figure out where Aquaria tower was located. Just follow the signs to the blue and sea green dorms. It was going up the stairs from the common area to the girl’s floor that was the hard part. It’s times like this that Nayia was glad the girl’s floor was the second floor and not the third. She’ll probably be rethinking that opinion when she hears the stomping and banging of boy roughhousing later that week.
Since she had to call the school administration office while she was on the road to inform them that she was able to make it this year, she learned that there was an odd number of female students in Aquaria tower, so unless there is a late application or a transfer student later in the year, she had a room all of her own.
Finally on the second floor after much struggle, Nayia carried Nixie and her luggage to her room and unlocked the door. A smile grew on her face as she examined the room, decoration ideas already forming in her head. Dropping her luggage, she went about pushing the two beds together and placing the end tables on each side. Then she moved the desks together to form an ‘L’ shape on the corner by the window.
“That looks pretty functionally,” Nayia grinned at Nixie who agreed in excitement. Nixie was never one to sleep in her pokeball, so having more space on the bed would greatly help their sleeping arrangements. 5’11” dragons have the tendency to hog the bed.
Grabbing her luggage from the doorway, Nayia spread it out on the bed and floor. Luckily for her, her middle brother Conway is an organization freak. So when her brothers packed her bags for her, everything was neat and organized making it so it will take little to no time to put everything in its place.
The largest job was her clothes and footwear, which took five minutes to put away. Her laptop, books and other desk accessories were next. Next were her personal items, accessories, make up and electronics, hanging her decorations on the walls (a mixture of dolphin beads and postures, shells, tropical fish and Pokémon), then finally her bedding (leopard print with brushes of pink petals).
Giving her arms and back a stretch, Nayia took a look at her completed room with a designer eye for detail and gave a nod of satiation. It was getting late and she could see the sun setting over the water from her beach view. Nayia was glad that they resolute to get take out for dinner during the last half an hour of the drive cause who knows what would be left to eat at this hour. Knowing Dru, she was probably still in the cafeteria with Torch since her Pokémon has such a love for food.
Nayia smirked, waving Nixie over to hang on her shoulders as she pulled out her Blackberry. Once the Dratini was relaxing on her shoulders like a feather boa, Nayia stepped out of her room and skipped down the stairs, texting Dru as she went.
~*~Hey Dru! Hope you made it to LVH alright. ^.^ How’s the food in the cafe? Lol, I had takeout and it was great. I’ll cross my fingers and pray Torch is being good. Hope to see you soon. Miss you, Nay~*~
Nayia grinned to herself, slipping her Blackberry into her skirt pocket as she walked across the common area and out the tower door. Surprising Dru would be fun. She tried to hold back the skip in her step as she went by a slender, blonde girl with a Totodile in deep conversation with a cute guy in shorts with a Mudkip while walking towards the cafeteria. On the way she noticed a teacher talking to a janitor by what looks like the leftovers of a battlefield that went through a few windows of the school. Students seemed to be keeping their distance from the site, but not so far away that they couldn’t see it while they gossiped.
“It seems I’m missing out on everything today,” Nayia whispered to Nixie so she wouldn’t get caught up in what happened. She did have the tendency to be in the wrong place at the wrong time and Nayia was trying her best to stay out of trouble.
Being a part time gym leader did help with it, being stuck in a gym all day and having to be a good example to gym apprentices and visiting trainers alike. She made the most of it though. She trained and played with the Pokémon half the day, practice her dancing the rest with breaks for swimming and nail art. It was fun to paint her nails while watching a trainer trying to battle through the gym apprentices so they could battle her. She loved catching the trainers off guard like that. It was half the fun with a little hidden lesson underneath her show.
Spotting the cafeteria entrance she went through it, passing by a guy with an Eevee by his side… is that an Eevee? Nayia paused and did a double take. It was definitely an Eevee, she just had natural black fur. Different but charming, it seems to suit the Eevee well. Just like the Eevee’s trainer seemed comfortable with wearing his suit in a casual manner. Different but charming, it helped that the dark haired guy in the suit was striking.
‘Very good-looking…. Don’t stare.’ Nayia thought, ‘Just smile and keep walking. You have to find Dru and do the surprise thingy.’ She looked around as she walked. Most students were finishing up dinner and leaving, or just sitting around chatting with newly made friends.
Dru was easy to spot with her rich purple hair with midnight blue streaks. She was sitting with a shaggy haired guy who had a cane by his side, a tall guy with very short chopped hair with a Nidorino, and a short, brown haired girl with round glasses and an Espeon. The Espeon and Dru’s Flarion, Torch seemed to be getting along… if having a relaxed staring contest counts as getting along.
Nayia could see that Dru had just finished reading her text and was starting to send a reply back. Grinning, Nayia glided quietly over to the table, positioning herself behind Dru and leaded on the girl’s shoulder, causing Dru to look up about to question the stranger who dared to use her as a post. Nayia watching as Dru’s annoyance turned into shock before Nayia converse in a casual tone. “I swear it takes forever for you to text me back. It’s been a whole two minutes. It’s rude to make your friends wait, you know.”
“What the… Nayia!” Dru stared, her shock fading into confusion mixed with excitement as she got up and hugged her friend. “What are you doing here? I thought you were stuck playing gym leader back in Cerulean City.”
“I was until this morning when my oldest brother decided to get permission to take over until cousin Misty comes back.” Nayia smiled, hugging her friend back. “I was rushing to get here in time before the administration office closed.”
“Why didn’t you call me?” Dru pulled out of the hug.
“It wouldn’t have been a surprise if I told you.” Nayia stuck her tongue out at her friend, causing Dru to laugh. Nixie had managed to slither down Nayia’s body to go reunite with Torch.
“Oh,” Dru paused, remembering her group at the table and pulled Nayia over to greet them. “Hey guys, this is my friend Nayia from Cerulean City with her Dratini Nixie. Nay, this is my roommate Berezi,” she gestured to the other girl at the table before pointing towards the guy with the cane than the tall guy. “This is Leonard and Weston.”
Nayia smiled at the group and waved. “Hey, it’s nice to meet you all.”
~*~*~*~*~**~*~*~*~
Haha, Dru and Nayia finally reunite. ;p Tag to whoever in that group wishes to reply.
It's good to see a bit of activity these late ten days considering the time of year. I'm hopeing it will pick up a bit when exam time is over. It's so weird seeing one or two posts a day in the RPG forum. >.< So weird.
“Is Chiko okay? What did the nurse say?” I rushed into the Pokemon Center, rushing over and grasping Karen’s hand. At first I hadn’t been worried about Chiko, but as I got closer and closer to the Pokemon Center, the memory of Blaze’s flame thrower kept playing out in my head. I hadn’t gotten a real good look at Chiko afterwards, could the flame thrower have hurt her worse than just a singe? Had she gotten caught up in it? Would she need surgery?!
“Umm..” Karen blinked in shock. “She’s going to be fine; they are just treating her burns right now.”
I gave a long sigh in relief and slumped into the chair, much of the tension from the last hour beginning to wash away. “Thank goodness..”
After a moment she gave me a sideways glance. “I’m sorry we couldn’t finish our battle, I’m just terribly bad at battling you see..” Karen explained, I could only giggle which caused her to pause after a second, as she probably wonder what was so funny.
“You’re bad at battles? I’m terrible at them.” I laughed, and then paused placing my hands behind my head as I stared off at the double doors that led down to where Chiko was being taken care of. “But I’m going to get better at them, just watch me, I’m going to be great at them, and I am going to beat my sister too!” I proclaimed.
“That’s some dream.” She smiled, and then rose as if she were suddenly remembering something. “We still have all that glass to pick up, c’mon!” She grabbed my hand, rushing both of us out the door, and back into the cool night air. “Besides if we’re going to be up all night, we can at least get to know each other, and I can help you remember attacks or something”
I gave her a quick nod, as I tightened my hand on her’s and quickened my pace toward the battlefield. Having a friend like Karen, my first real non room mate friend in high school. It just filled me with a extra rush of enthusiasm.
“Where do you think you are going?” Rachel called out, her authoritative tone cutting through the night air and grinding both of us to a stop.
“We uh.. I… umm..” We both looked back and forth dumbfounded, we were going to pick up glass just like what she told us to do.
“One of the teachers showed up, she has a maintenance crew cleaning up the glass.” She held up two fingers, obviously seeing the fear on our faces of getting in trouble. “I lied my ass off to keep both of you out of trouble, having a little sister cause this much property damage while I am running for re election would be troublesome..” She rolled her eyes in frustration. “So here is what both of you are going to do, you are going to go help the maintenance crew clean up, if Layla comes along, tell her you know nothing.”
My eyes grew wide in shock “Lie to a tea..”
Rachel cut me off. “Nothing.” Her eyes shifted back and forth between us, “Get it? Good.”
Name: Kaylee York
Gender: Female
Age: 16
Class: Sophomore
Pokemon: Bellsprout ♀ Ochu
Physical Description: Kaylee is a bit taller than most girls, standing at 5’8’’. She’s lean, with not a pound of muscle on her body it seems. Still, she seems slim and slender and all around pretty with her azure eyes and strawberry blond hair (it’s pink. Lawl.). She seems like the typical schoolgirl with a trendy flare, never looking bad in any outfit she wears (often leaning more the cute side).
Personality: Warm-hearted and friendly, Kaylee isn’t out to make enemies with anyone. She has a sweet charm to her that often makes her the one to hold everyone’s secrets. She’s out-going to an extent, having no problem approaching most people. Her downside is she can get rather jealous of people, and has a rather low self-esteem. While she’ll blow off most insults, some get through and she’ll often wait till the dead of night to breakdown about them. This often doesn’t happen, as Kaylee is rather hard to hate.
History: Kaylee didn’t, she actually travelled around with her older sister. Her sister is a brilliant trainer, competing in the leagues numerous times. Caden (her sister) gave Kaylee Ochu, a runt of a Bellsprout. Despite the obvious disadvantage to having a weak pokemon, Kaylee who doesn’t often battle, loves the little plant.
Relationships: None?
Other: She cannot battle worth her life, it’s not that she’s inept, it’s just Ochu is.
I’m going to assume she’s in Solaria, and she’s majoring in Technology. She was approved btw.
Kaylee York & Ochu http://www.pokemonelite2000.com/sprites/dpiconani/dpiconani069.gif
On the path between where the towers are and the beach?
“You really can stop Ochu, you don’t need too-“
With an uneasy sway, the bellsprout used two vines to lift up a rock. A rock that should’ve been easy, but considering poor Ochu was a runt compared to other bellsprouts, let alone other pokemon, it was a struggle. Kaylee watched with a gleeful expression, her little grass-type seemed so impressed with herself. It proudly bellowed its name, announcing its victory until it faltered.
And fell backwards.
The rock it was holding went flying out of the vine’s grasp. Kaylee watched as it zoomed through the air, slamming right into the face of another pokemon.
“Oh no…” The girl grimaced, getting up instantly.
“SNEA.”
Ochu shook her head, recovering from the fall easily. The poor plant didn’t quite understand what had happened, but it did now that Kaylee now looked especially worried. It twisted around, tilting its head as a strange creature got up slowly, wicked claws grinding against each other. There was a call from another trainer in a frantic attempt to calm the dark type down, but it would have none of that.
It rushed bellsprout, claws flying.
Ochu ducked stupidly, amazed as the pokemon (now revealed to be a sneasel) when flying over head. Kaylee yelped, watching as the creature bounded off the tree quickly and went to attack bellsprout again. Ochu let out a cry, attempting to run only to trip and do a hard somersault out of the way.
“Midna!!” The trainer cried, approaching quickly.
“It was an accident!” Kaylee tried to reason. “Ochu tripped!”
Seansel grunted, narrowing its eyes at the helpless grass-type.
“Bell…”
The girl had almost white hair, though in the dying sun it had a sheen of gold to reveal it was actually blond. A bit shorter then Kaylee, she looked at her dark-type with a frustrated expression. The sneasel seemed to be ignoring its trainer, instead it glared daggers and doom upon Ochu, who was still very confused on what was going on.
“What happened?” She questioned, looking over to Kaylee for a clearer explanation.
“Um…” Kaylee watched as Bellsprout scrambled away from the fearsome opponent, and disappeared behind her leg. Only peeking out occasionally. “Ochu’s… Kind of clumsy…”
Sneasel snorted.
“She was trying to lift a rock, and tripped. She kinda… Sent the rock flying.” Kaylee bit her lip. “It was an accident, honest…”
“It’s fine…” The girl finally sighed, picking up the proud pokemon. “Midna’s just irritated.”
“Oh…” Kaylee didn’t want to say, but any sneasel she had ever met always seemed annoyed. This one was no different. “Um… May I know why?”
“Snea! Sneasel Sneaaa, sel…” The pokemon grumbled, in a huff she crossed her arms.
“She lost our last match.”
“Oh…” The taller girl was quiet for a second. “I’m Kaylee, by the way.”
“I’m Olivia.” She smiled as her pokemon merely grunted.
Ochu meandered over, looking at the cross dark type in curiosity.
“Bell…” She hung her head as a sign of apology.
“Snea.” Midna countered, sticking out her tongue.
Looking to her right, bellsprout picked up another rock. Midna tensed, watching as the grass type lifted it higher and higher above her own head before she suddenly released it. Kaylee let out a yelp and Ochu grunted as the rock slammed down on top of her head. Slowly the grass-type recovered, swaying unevenly as the world spun.
Sneasel blinked, before breaking out into laughter.
“Ochu…” Kaylee frowned, picking up the sad little creature. “You hurt yourself enough by accident; don’t start doing it on purpose.”
“Bell.”
Olivia and Midna
Olivia couldn't help but chuckle at the little Bellsprout's mishaps. Sometimes she wished she didn't have such a violent Pokemon so that it might do cute things like that, but to be honest, Midna did to adorable things sometimes that she wouldn't like to admit.
Of course, there was also the time where Midna had tried to eat a trainer's Pidgey. She managed to pluck a fair few feathers off its back before being recalled to her pokeball. The trainer wasn't too pleased at all... But that was when Olivia had first got her. Sneasels aren't exactly the most easy pokemon to train, since they're far too clever for their own good, but when she looked at Ochu...
Well... Not every pokemon was meant for battling, right? And it wasn't a problem that training couldn't sort out...
But what did she know about grass types? All she knew about was ice types and the fire types that tried to melt them.
There was silence between the two girls as they headed towards the main building. Thankfully, it was soon broken by Kaylee, who seemed to be a lot more sociable than she was. It was kinda reflected in the way that so far, Olivia had only met one other person and her first instinct was to battle him.
“So where are you from?” Kaylee asked, gently rubbing the top of Ochu's head where the rock had hit her.
“Johto.” Olivia replied, watching her acquaintance's face light up. “Mahogany Town.”
“Me too! Well, not Mahogany Town, Goldenrod City, but that's pretty close.” She beamed, Ochu snuggling into her arms.
Of course, Midna, being the jealous type, tried to snuggle too. Except the problem was, she was about the size of a three year old, so she wasn't the easiest of Pokemon to carry anyway, considering her massive claws, but eventually managed to end up being carried like a baby.
“We go to Goldenrod a few times a year to stock up on Ice Heals... We get quite a few trainers pass through unprepared for the weather and they're cheaper in the department store. A lot of them aren't prepared for the gym either.” She tried her best not to smirk, but Minda couldn't help herself.
Kaylee didn't seem to notice, however. “My sister has that badge! She said it was quite tough, but she's an awesome trainer, so I'm sure it wasn't too hard. Do you know the Gym leader?”
“Sort of...” Olivia smiled in an attempt to cover up her nervousness around the subject. “Most people in Mahogany do, it's a small town.” She mentally sighed, having managed to cover herself. “Has your sister competed in the Pokemon League?”
“Yeah! Loads of times. We travel around with her, don't we Ochu?”
“Bell!”
“Lucky... I've barely left Mahogany Town.” Olivia shrugged. Before she even realised, they were already inside the main building, looking between the two towers. “Well, that's my tower... I guess I'll see you tomorrow?”
“Yeah... It was nice meeting you, Olivia!” Kaylee and Ochu waved as they headed off towards Solaria.
“You too!” She called back, heading towards the common room.
Alas, there in the common room was Drake, sat with a few girls around him and a couple of guys. He looked very smug and it seemed like all attention was on him.
“She was an idiot, she just let her Sneasel beat into my Cloyster's shell! It got so tired that it was easy to trap it-”
Olivia didn't want to hear any more. She quickly closed the common room door, keeping a tight grip on Midna, who she knew would get so angry if she realised that he was talking about her. She ran back to the main hall area, straight into the Solaria tower and into their common room, Midna staring up at her in confusion.
Thankfully, Kaylee was actually there, Ochu sat on her lap, swaying from side to side. Half of the pokemon seemed to flinch; bringing an ice type into a grass domain, especially a violent ice type, was obviously not a very popular thing to do.
“I just...” Olivia began, unsure what to say to all these confused faces. “Wanted to talk to Kaylee...”
Activity seemed to return to normal as she quickly took a seat next to Kaylee. “Are you alright?”
“Drake was in the common room...” Kaylee looked confused. “The guy that beat us. Bragging about it. God knows what Midna would have done... His Cloyster may have nearly eaten her alive, but she managed to make a massive crack in his shell!”
Kaylee laughed a little at just how triumphant that sounded. “Well you learnt something!” She nodded to emphasise her point. “And look, it tired her out...”
Olivia looked down to see her pokemon curled up in a ball on her lap, her eyes barely open. Who would have thought a pokemon so cute when sleeping could be so vicious in battle? She smiled, petting her. One of Ochu's vines joined in too.
“Sprout! Bell!” She chimed happily.
Olivia chuckled. “That is possibly the bravest Bellsprout I've ever seen...”
Tag Sie or anyone in Solaria Tower! Hope I'm allowed in there, I'll leave when it's bed time, promise!
Weston Avery & :033: Vincent :033:
Weston drifted in and out of the conversation as he kept catching himself staring at this girl Dru. He hadn't known alot of girls with uncommon hair colors and piercings at Olivine, but this one was quite alluring. The purple shade of her hair just so happened to be Weston's favorite color, and the piercings gave her a sort of "tough but still feminine" look. He liked that. Alot.
This is Leonard and Weston...
Weston snapped out of his daze when he heard his name. He noticed that Dru was pointing at him and his roommate Leonard, apparently introducing us to her friend there. Embarassingly, Weston had not caught her name when she arrived due to his gawking.
"Um...I'm sorry I don't hear very well...what did you say your name was again?" Weston sheepishly asked the girl, fibbing a bit about why he had missed it the first time. The girl just chuckled a bit.
"It's Nayia, and this is Nixie!" she said with a grin, walking around the table and leaning on Weston's shoulder.
"It's ok, I know she's pretty cute. Want me to put in a good word for ya?" Nayia whispered in his ear with a slight giggle.
THWAMMMMMM!!
Weston's eyes widened instantly as his knee slammed up into the bottom of the table, rattling all the lunch trays and drawing the attention of half the lunchroom. When he noticed everyone staring at him, he had to think fast.
"Erm...man is this chicken good!" he exclaimed after a moment. Everyone went back to what they were doing as if nothing had happened. With a triumphant smile Nayia walked back around to Dru's side of the table and plopped her backpack on the bench.
"Well I guess I'll go grab my food then. Be right back!" she said, giving the still red-faced Weston a wink.
Secretly rubbing his aching knee under the table, Weston turned back to the group at the table.
"So, where are all of you guys and gals from originally?" He asked.
Sunday | Morning
Back on the path towards the beach.
“Ochu…”
The bellsprout refused to listen, she tried again, her vines whipping out and slapping against the tree.
“Ochu…”
Another slap, you know this wouldn’t be so embarrassing if the tree was anything but a baby. It was disappointing to realize her pokemon couldn’t snap a twig in half. The bellsprout ignored her second call, instead it huff and began to meander over to the little tree. Hell bent on revenge.
Kaylee looked up, rising lazily off the rock she had been lying on. Ochu was swaying in front of the tree. Vines raised upwards in some vain attempt to look have imposing; the poor grass type got tripped by the wind that came suddenly, blowing the poor thing a couple feet sideways.
“Ochu you’re not a hoppip…” She giggled, watching Ochu slowly get up and hang its head sadly. “You’ll get better; you managed to pick up two rocks yesterday.”
That seemed to instantly improve the creature’s mood. She hopped back over to her trainer and scrambled up onto the larger rock Kaylee had chosen as her resting place. With a smile the woman patted the bellsprout gently on the head before laying back down, enjoying the sun’s rays.
“Is this our hang-out then?”
Kaylee looked over, eyes narrowing due to the sun. She could just make out the form of a girl around her age and a sneasel.
“Olivia?” she questioned, though she knew the answer.
“Hey.” The girl stepped more into view and smiled. “Is Ochu alright?”
“Bell!” The pokemon announced, swaying proudly. Midna snickered, rolling her eyes at the display of ‘power’.
“She’s fine.” Kaylee went back to staring at the sky. “Not the first time she’s dropped a rock on her own head. Believe me.”
“Bell….” The grass-type shot a glare towards her trainer.
“She’s cute.” The girl admitted, as she patted her own pokemon on the head before sitting down on a stump. “I’m sorry about bursting into your tower last night.”
Kaylee sat up, confused about the apology. “No need to apologize, you’re welcome there whenever you want. Just use me as an excuse.”
“Really?”
“Really.” The pink-haired girl smiled kindly, watching as Ochu hurried off the rock to join Midna. “Besides, if what’s-his-face really was bragging then he’s a prick.”
Olivia smiled a bit sheepishly at the comment. “We’ll beat him.”
“Heyyyy!”
Both of the girls turned, seeing another running towards them. Kaylee shot a glance over at Olivia, who simply shrugged. She had blond hair and appeared to be shorter than both of them, she stopped a few feet from them and Olivia seemed to click.
“She’s from my tower…”
“Yeah?” Kaylee tilted her head slightly as the girl approached with a big, friendly smile on her face.
“Hi!”
“Hi.” Kaylee smiled in return, and Olivia exchanged a greeting as well, though a bit quieter.
“I’m Nayia Waterflower!”
Well, she sure is bubbly. She makes me look like a sulking kid.
“I’m Kaylee York, and this is Olivia…”
“Hey… You’re in my tower, aren’t you?” She questioned, playing suspicious at Olivia for a second before turning her attention back to Kaylee. “Which tower are you from?”
“Bell!” Ochu announced, bouncing up towards them before tripping and falling flat on her face.
“Um…” Kaylee plucked her bellsprout off the ground and steadied her kindly. “Solaria.”
“Aww, is this your pokemon?” Nayia beamed, petting the dratini around her neck. “She’s adorable!”
“Her name’s Ochu.”
Midna slid up afterwards, intently watching the grass-type sway like it was hypnotic.
“This is Midna.” Olivia offered, gesturing to the mesmerized sneasel.
“He he..” Nayia kept kindly petting her dragon-type. “This is nixie.”
Caden have a Dragonite… I wonder how it’s doing? Kaylee’s mind trailed off for a second, snapped back to reality by Ochu who was tugging at her hand with a vine. There was a somewhat awkward silence as the three of them fell quiet, and that sort of silence Kaylee wouldn’t stand for.
“So!” She scooped up her bellsprout. “Who’s up for an adventure?”
The morning dawn broke over the school, the gentle light slowly illuminating the grassy path in which we had spent the night picking up shards of glass, which seemed to glitter and reflect the light like a million little diamonds. "Its so beautiful" I remarked, stopping for a moment to observe the beautiful moment.
"It seems like we havn't made a dent in it!" Karen groaned, plopping down on the cool grass already dampened by the morning dew. After a minute I joined her, my eyes feeling heavy and saggy, just like they had when Rachel and I used to stay up all night to see what would come on TV during the early morning hours. "We're working with the maintenance crew all night and it just keeps going on and on and on, maybe some one is trying to punish us, throwing glass shards out the window."
"I could sleep for a week.." I yawned, leaning against Karen more for support, I came here to learn, to become a Pokemon trainer, not to spend my days picking up glass.
"I could sleep for a month!" Karen retorted, bringing a smile to my face, I had gotten to know my friend better over the last few hours as we spent time idly picking up glass.
"Then you will flunk out of all of your classes" I pointed out, causing her to chuckle. She paused a moment to look behind my shoulder at all the glass that still lay in front of us to pick up.
"Think we passed the 'picking up glass' class?" She asked.
I shook my head. "We flunked out." I gave a long and lengthy sigh, my stomach already rumbling for food, I couldn't be sure but every few minutes I could smell the fragrance of breakfast come wafting through with the gentle morning breeze, then again it could just be my mind playing tricks on my hungry stomach.
"Next time..." I began, thinking about my words. "Next time I have a battle with you, its going to be in a true battle field, that way we wont get stuck on glass duty!"
Karen nudged my side, at first a gentle nudge then a jab to the ribs.
"And I have already found a way to defeat your Dugtrio, you won't see it coming!" I exclaimed, Karen's nudges becoming harder and harder till they became painful. "What?" I asked, turning to see a very angry teacher staring down at us, her arms crossed with her Flygon standing next to her.
"Oh..." I muttered.
Layla glared at the two girls for a moment and then breaking the silence, "So...", she started slowly. "It was you two... I had a feeling....", the words were like ice to two girls.
"When I saw the holes in the ground I knew it had to be a ground-type. I hope you two didn't think your little stunt would go unnoticed. Just what were you thinking?!"
"W-we're--", Tiffany started but Layla's glare was like a pair of knives and she immediately went quiet.
She then softened her tone. "Do you two realize how much trouble you could have been in?", she said with slight emphasis. They nodded slowly. She sighed, "I'd say being up all night cleaning up your mess is enough of a corpral punishment. Consider yourselves lucky you weren't kicked out of the school. This could have been counted as vandalism!"
They didn't say anything they just simply continued agreeing, after all it was their fault. Finally Karen spoke up, "So... we can stop cleaning?", she said meekly.
"Yes, you may go. Don't do it again.", Layla said with an emphasis on the last portion of her statement.
"Y-you mean... y-you're letting us off the hook?", Karen said and it was hard to tell if she was in disbelief or falling over from fatigue.
"Not entirely.", Layla said staring off for a second. "You're starting off the year with demerits, everyone that was involved.", Tiffany looked as if she'd just been shot with a bullet, she knew what that mean. The cat was out of the bag now. "E-everyone? Y-yo--", she was interrupted. "Yes Ms. Parker that includes your sister Rachel for attempting to cover this up. I expect you two have a bit to talk about. I will look the other way just this once.", she continued in a firm tone.
The two girls looked at each other and then got up.
"Go get some rest you will absolutely need it before tomorrow. It is the first day of the term after all.", she said. "And I will be contacting the Registrar to make sure the demerits are applied.", she said before sending them off.
After that the two walked off down the hall.
She looked around at the mess and then went to call in more people to help clean it up.
Sleep all day, party all night, never grow old and never die
I watched Nayia walk off and wondered what she’d said. Knowing her, she was up to something.
“Well, I’m from Cerulean originally, but I train at the Cinnabar gym. My mom was killed in the fire, and Blaine is her second cousin once removed or something. He’s my legal guardian now.” I left out the part about my dad being AWOL my whole life, and my twin brother. Some things are better left unshared. “Nay and I have been friends forever.”
We kind of went around the table, everyone telling of their background and home. I couldn’t get over my surprise at Nayia being able to leave the gym. Things were looking up, not that it was bad before, but I wouldn’t feel quite so lost now.
I found myself staring off into space. I was tired, very tired. “Hey guys... I think I’m going to call it a day. See you all tomorrow!” I said as cheerfully as I could without sounding exhausted. I smiled at every one, but as I glanced at Weston, I felt my face grow slightly hot and I looked away quickly. I wasn’t usually shy, but there was something about him that made me slightly unsure of myself.
I stood up and called Torch, who glanced at Berezi’s Espeon before following me. I wondered if there was going to be trouble with those two. Torch could be unpredictable at best.
I wearily climbed the stairs to the girls’ rooms, made my way to my room, and threw myself down on my bed after opening the door. I lay there, facedown, for a good while, just enjoying not being on my bike or standing.
I heard movement behind me before a soft voice called out. “Are you alright?” Berezi asked.
“I’m fine,” I replied without lifting my head, resulting in my words being muffled to the point of not being understandable. I rolled over on to my back and groaned. “Just a really long day, that’s all. I think I’m going to go hit the shower.” I stood slowly, grabbed my black towel (the better to hide haircolor stains) and shower caddy and made my way to the bathroom. Torch stayed behind, she was understandably not fond of water.
Five minutes later, I returned, hair mussed and still rather wet. I managed to dress myself without flashing Berezi too much. Luckily, she wasn’t paying much attention to me. I struggled into a black satin camisole and black pants meant for yoga, I think. My tattoos were very visible, and Berezi glanced at me with a raised eyebrow. I shrugged, knowing that my appearance was unusual at best. I began to work the tangles out of my hair with a widetooth comb; once I overcame that, I climbed into bed and closed my eyes. Torch jumped up and curled up at my feet, and sleep overcame me almost at once. My last thought as I drifted off what that I hoped I didn’t snore too much.
Sunday dawned bright and early, sunlight filtering through the curtains in our room. I rolled over and tried in vain to fall back asleep. Sighing, I got up, found some clothes, and got dressed. Today featured a black KMFDM tshirt with boot cut jeans. I slid on some flip-flops, not feeling like getting my boots on just yet. The thought of going down to the beach after breakfast was rather appealing.
Breakfast was uneventful. I say by myself and watched as most other people did likewise, not sure of each other for the most part. I didn’t see anyone from the dinner table, though that didn’t mean they weren’t around somewhere, I supposed. I took my dishes to the designated area and left the cafeteria, intent on exploring the grounds a little bit more than I had the previous evening. The beach sounded appealing still, so with Torch in tow, I headed in that direction.
Dig yer own hole
*****
If Karen really wanted to shift the blame real quick, she could’ve easily pointed out that Tiffany contributed to the whole problem by a) pressing on for a battle in the first place (well, OK, so maybe it was a little strong a word; maybe suggesting would be a better word), and b) mentioning about the incident when a teacher is conveniently in the vicinity. But then again, on hindsight, perhaps things were better off if Karen hadn’t accepted the proposal in the first place, knowing the nature of Dugtrios (who’s the fool?).
And as for her? Well, it would be surprising to find out that she wasn’t really that worried about the situation right now. Sure, the aspect of getting demerit-ed initially worried her, but she had somewhat eased herself when she remembered that there’s a whole lot more worrisome, painful things out there (some which had even became experiences for her).
After a few more minutes of silence, Tiffany said, “I-it’s m-”
“Naw, don’t think so.” Karen knew exactly what was in her mind. “Nope.”
“But- but I was the one who-”
“Well, c’mon now. It already happened, yeah? Like what the teacher said, we asked some, and so we got some (yeah, we got schooled, so to speak). And it’s not that we could do anything now, don’tcha think so?”
“Rachel… She. She’d…” The girl positively looked as if she was on the verge of tears. Karen understood it well; she was probably being new to the whole college experience, and with a particularly ill-tempered older sister and hand caught up in trouble, it was easy to see why she’s gotten her stomach in a knot.
“You’re worried that she’d be angry – or, very pissed off – about this, is it?”
“Yeah…”
Karen smiled, yawned – it was early morning, anyway – and gave the girl a reassuring squeeze on her shoulder.
“You know, the best thing we could do right now is to sleep over it.” She then gave a slap – perhaps a little too strong – on the girl’s shoulder, that she was almost knocked off from her feet. “Things are always better after a good sleep. And breakfast. But yeah, let’s leave out your dear sister until the morning, OK? OK.”
Tiffany flashed a smile (while rubbing her back). In her mind, Karen gave a sigh of relief.
The first thing that Karen did in the morning was to scream “EARTHQUAKE!!”
…but of course, that wasn’t exactly true: what exactly happened was that she was jolted awake by a persistent creaking sound. Half groggy and half panicked, she opened her eyes, and saw that her bed was shaking.
It was only then that she screamed.
Then, a pause; a quick glance later, she found out that the ‘earthquake’ was nothing more than a modest Bellsprout shaking the leg of her bed. For a small Pokemon, it seems to be rather successful at doing the job.
The girl – possibly the Pokemon’s trainer, and definitely her roommate – sitting on the opposite bed chuckled. She appeared to be slightly taller than Karen is, and seems to be around her age range. The first feature that caught her eyes were her pink-ish blonde-ish hair. Overall, she supposed the girl could be considered pretty.
Karen straightened up, stared for a full second or two, and said, “Appealing.”
The girl blinked. “Sorry?”
Karen gave a confused look, as if even she herself did not understand what she had just said. “Nah, it’s nothing…” She slumped back to her sleeping position.
“You were sleeping like a log,” the girl said, pointing to Karen’s handphone. “The alarm went off, but you weren’t waking up. So, um, we tried to get you to wake up-”
So that’s why my hair’s all wet…
“…then Ochu shook your bed… and you were up.”
“Screaming, yeah?”
“Yeah,” the girl answered, with the slightest sign of amusement. “Where were you last night, anyway?”
“Hmm?”
“I mean, I haven’t seen you for the whole night.”
“Oh, I was… running an errand for the teacher… Yeah. Yeah. Whew, what a night…” Karen said in a tone that suggested that she didn’t want any further inquiry on the subject.
“Ah. By the way, I’m Kaylee.”
Karen straightened up again. “I’m Karen, and my Dugtrio, Rayleigh, is, uh… it’d be best not to let him out now, see. So. Kaylee, where are – nghh!” She stretched her arms, and gave a big yawn.
…that wasn’t so polite, was it? She stared ahead for a second, and was going to finish her sentences, when she yawned again.
And unexpectedly, she paused. Between the yawn.
“Is there something wrong, Karen?” Kaylee asked, slightly apprehensive: she must have been worried to see her half-yawning half-scrutinizing face.
“My hand – it’s – bleeding!” To show her point, she held out her right palm, now marked by a thin red line. “It’s – your Bellsprout’s leaf…! I think… Band aid! I need a band aid!”
The event certainly took place before everyone else is taking/going to take a stroll at the beach (maybe even before breakfast)
With both hands I threw open the door to Layla's office, if I could see my face I would guess it would be twisted in a hideous mixture of rage and anger, I rarely allowed my emotions to get the best of me, but this was a special occasion. "What is the meaning of this?" I roared thrusting the crumpled sheet of paper onto her desk, a print out of the email I received notifying me of the demerits. "Is this some kind of a sick joke? If it is I am not laughing!"
The professor seemed to look at me curiously for a moment, obviously taking in the situation and waiting for my rage to subside, it would be a long wait. "You covered up a crime perpetrated by your sister, you are as guilty as the rest of them." She said calmly, although her voice seemed to show a hint of annoyance.
My mouth swung open in shock, hanging there for a moment as I tried to form words. "I... you... I..." Were the only things that seemed to come out.
She rose from her desk, brushing the crumpled paper to the floor. "You stated that the two people who were battling had left by the time you got there, do you deny that you did not know it was your younger sister? That you just so happen were in the vicinity of the battle just moments before?"
My sight began to take on a tint of red, that little brat, she had said something, done something, after all I had done for her! "I am one year from graduating! I am one of the top members of my class! This will ruin me!" I switched tactics, my voice raising with every point I made, I had been a perfect student, the perfect student, a demerit would ruin me, especially if it got out during the campaign season.
"You are a resourceful girl Miss Parker, I am sure you will overcome this." She sat back down, if I didn't know better I would guess she was trying to hide a smile. "Now if there is not anything else." She seemed to find the book much more interesting than my gaze, her silence a indication of her want for me to leave.
Some how I made it out of that office with out ripping her head off, by the time I left the room I was boiling with rage, but my exterior was a picture of serenity. "Dammit, its her fault, I save her skin and she does this to me. She doesn't even deserve to be here and the longer she stays the longer it endangers my plans." I mumbled to my self as I walked toward the student council chamber for the early morning meeting.
"I swear, by the end of this month both of them will be out of this school"
Kaylee
Back-Track
As horrible as it was that Ochu might’ve cut the poor girl, Kaylee couldn’t help but smile a tad at her exclamation of the action. Though the ‘appealing’ remark was somewhat out of the blue, the girl chose to push it to the back of her mind. Her new aquatence had an injury that needed tending to.
“Here,” Kaylee stood and moved closer, taking the girl’s hand gently. “Let me see it.”
The tomboy tensed up as Kaylee took her hand, inspecting the thin cut. The blood was beginning to dry already, but there was a thin red line around the tiny slice. Kaylee frowned, she realized Karen’s hand as she bent back, grasping her bag and dragging it over.
“You don’t have to-“
“Nonsense.” Kaylee smiled, taking Karen’s hand again and holding it open. With a half-smile the pink-haired girl reached into her bag and pulled out some disinfectant. “Don’t worry,” she smirked, eyes shining a little deviously. “It doesn’t sting.”
“Oh, I wasn’t worried it would…” The girl winced automatically, expecting pain as Kaylee smoothed a clear coat over the wound. “Eh heh… Maybe I was a little worried?”
“Don’t be.” Came the short reply from the medic, as she placed a pink band-aid on the wound. It had shiny, white stars on it for decoration. “There.”
“Pink…” Karen noted, almost dryly. She frowned a little.
“Of course,” Kaylee chimed, before she took the girl’s hand and kissed the injury gently. “All better now?”
Her roommate was quiet as Kaylee released her hand and turned back to her side of the room. Ochu followed, swaying around as its trainer went for her headphones and iPod. Kaylee was almost prepared, dressed cutely in a jeans and a black tube-top.
She was halfway done doing up her sneakers (which she had officially decided, while fashionable and quite lovely, were WAY to difficult to do up every day) when Karen spoke finally.
“Where are you going?”
“Out.” She shrugged, her mind not knowing where just yet. “Might head down to the forest between here and the beach.”
“Oh, cool.”
“You can come if you’d like.” Kaylee smiled, watching Ochu perk at the idea of company.
“Eh… No, maybe a bit later. It’s awfully early in morning.”
“Bell…”
“I’m sure she has better things to do then follow us around Ochu.” Kaylee gave her pokemon a look before focusing on her friend again. “Don’t mind her, she just loves showing off her power.”
“Bellsprout!”
And on cue, the poor thing fell over.
“Oh yes… She seems to be overcome with power and finesse.”
Kaylee chuckled. “She has that effect on people.” She went back to tying her own shoe, secretly hoping she’d run into Olivia, the girl was fun to hang around. “You sure you don’t want to come?”
“I’m sure.” Karen nodded. “Maybe I’ll show up later.”
“Okay.”
And then there was this awkward, looming silence between them. Kaylee grabbed her back and scooped Ochu. She glanced back at her roommate, smiling a bit before she grabbed the doorknob of the room. The girl paused, thinking to herself.
Did I forget anything?
Not anything she could think of, the shrugged and waved her final goodbye before slipping out of the room.
Berezi
------------
Berezi had heard her roommate head out earlier in the morning but instead chose to ignore it and sleep in a bit, after all Azeri and Torch's play overnight had kept her up. She picked up the Poketch she had uncermoniously left on the floor and looked at the time. "10:30...", she muttered.
She decided to get up and go have a look around, after all this would be her school for the next few years and she didn't really have too good of a look around yesterday since arriving, despite still feeling a bit tired from being kept up.
Azeri meanwhile was curled up at the foot of the bed grooming himself. He looked up momentarily when he heard stirring under the sheets. He saw Berezi get up out of the bed and make her way to the shower.
.......
20 minutes later she was on her way out to have a look around, she really didn't get far when she realized she had no idea where to go first. She shrugged and decided to just walk and see where she ended up.
Going down the hall she ran into Rachel Parker, a senior, she had seen her around before and she know that she had a younger sister. She casually waved to her but Azeri's hissing and sudden cry interrupted her, she looked down at him, he was in a defensive stance.
Bastard lit my tail on fire! she looked at his tail and it was indeed slightly singed. The charmeleon was laughing its head off.
"Ooooh!", she picked Azeri up. "Damn it!", Azeri was less then amused, he stared knives at the red lizard and started to wriggle in Berezi's arms. It was clear these two would not be getting along any time soon.
Lemme at 'im! I'll kill 'im!, he wriggled more and more.
"Azeri, calm down!", she tried to keep him still to no avail.
Olivia and Midna
The girls had had a pretty good night sleep, actually. Whoever was meant to be sharing her room hadn't shown up, which gave Midna the perfect excuse to make use of the facilities. She pretty much took up the whole of the second bed, sprawling herself out.
However, their sleep was interrupted by her PokéGear bleeping at her early in the morning. Rolling over and groaning, she put it to her ear without thinking to look and see who was calling.
“... Hello?”
“Olivia sweetie! You don't sound well!”
“Oh, hi mum...” She rolled back onto her back and stared up at the ceiling. “I just woke up, that's all.”
“Are you sure? You sound groggy... Did you sleep okay? Is the food-”
“Mum, what time is it?”
There was a short pause. “7am, why?”
“That's why I sound groggy...”
After a quick catch up, Olivia went through her normal morning routine. It looked quite warm outside, so she chose shorts and summery white top from her new wardrobe and headed down to breakfast, her hair still a little wet. She'd hoped to leave Midna sleeping, but her ever observant ears alerted her to movement and she was soon at her master's heels.
There was hardly anyone there when she arrived. After all, it was 8am on a Sunday morning, who in their right mind would be awake? Her mother, of course, she would be cleaning the gym, but otherwise there was no real reason for it.
She sat alone, hoping that her one friend might turn up sometime soon. Olivia wasn't good at approaching people at all, normally it was the other way around. They'd have to introduce themselves to her for gym challenges...
Anyway, since it wasn't worth hanging around with so few people (notably, a girl with a Gastly was having issues, since it wouldn't stop licking other peoples' and Pokémon's faces. However it took one look at Midna and floated off in a different direction), so she decided to go exploring again.
Unfortunately, it took her straight back to the beach.
So much for exploring...
But she was happy there. She sat on the sand, staring out at the sea whilst Midna played in the waves, occasionally scaring the Krabby that washed up and getting startled by a Kingler when she wasn't expecting it. She also tried to take down some Wingull, but they teased her by swooping low, but then flying out of her reach.
“Snea!” She cried happily, pointing back towards the path.
“Midna?” Olivia questioned, turning around to where she was now heading. “What's up?”
She followed her back up the path, where she found Kaylee sat in the same place that they had been yesterday.
I'm so glad she's here... I don't think I could spend much longer playing chase the Wingull... Olivia smiled as she approached her friend.
~~ Skippy forward ~~
“So... Who's up for an adventure?” Kaylee asked, picking up Ochu.
“I think I've seen enough of the beach...” Olivia admitted, shuffling her feet.
“Snea...” Midna seemed a little disappointed.
“Well, there's a lot more to explore...” Nayia began. She paused for a moment. “How much have you seen?”
“The beach... The canteen... My tower...” Kaylee listed, a little embarrassment appearing on her face.
“My list's the same, plus the Solaria tower...” Olivia admitted, looking a little sheepish.
“Bell!”
“Not that I didn't like your tower, Ochu!” She smiled at the little Bellsprout, petting her head. “I had fun! It was certainly better than being teased by Drake all evening.”
“Well there's lots to see! Like the battle grounds, classrooms, gardens...” Nayia offered, but Olivia shrugged.
“Kinda seen them in the brochure... I wanna see the hidden gems...”
“What about the forest?” Another voice entered their conversation.
Oh god... A fire type trainer...
The girl that appeared was probably perfectly nice and all, but she hated fire types. Not cos of their type advantage over Midna, but their assumption that they could all beat Pryce with no questions asked. Personally, if she ever had his Piloswine, she'd teach it earthquake to show them all a lesson...
But she wouldn't let this get in the way of things. She couldn't afford to, cos otherwise the list of people she knew wouldn't get any longer.
Midna didn't really help things though. She stood close to her trainer's feet, growling at the Flareon. It was gonna be hard to break this habbit...
“This is Dru.” Nayia introduced. “She's a very good friend of mine. This is Kaylee and Olivia.”
“Hey!” Kaylee chimed, waving a little, Ochu waving too.
“So you both went to this school before?” Olivia asked, tilting her head to one side.
“Yeah.” Dru answered, grinning at Nayia. “We're both Sophomores.”
“Me too!” Kaylee piped up.
Oh no...
“I'm a senior.” Olivia added, looking a little disappointed.
My only friends aren't even in my year...
“Hey, don't worry...” Kaylee seemed to read her mind. “I'm sure you'll find someone in your year soon enough.”
“So far, that's not so successful...” Olivia sighed. “The only person I've met is Drake and he's a prick...”
Midna snorted, Olivia smirked.
“That doesn't seem like a very positive attitude to have towards making friends...” Dru frowned.
“No really...” Kaylee came to her rescue. “From what I've heard he's a prick.”
Kinda hot though... Olivia thought, a few little butterflies emerging in her stomach. Damn him...
“What about the forest, though?” Kaylee suggested, motioning to it. “It could be fun!”
Ochu certainly seemed excited! She leapt from Kaylee's arms towards the forest.
“Hey, Ochu! Wait!”
“Snea!” Midna took off after her, maybe even to make sure the little plant was alright rather than just play with her.
“I guess that's a yes...” Nayia shrugged as they followed the two Pokemon, heading into the forest.
Ergh... Sorry... Tag guys :3
http://www.upokecenter.com/pictures/dp/icons/icon005.gif
I eyed the sophomore up and down, she was holding on to her struggling Pokemon who seemed more than willing to fight back against Blaze, luckily the girl could realize that would be a losing venture. "I'm..." She struggled with her Pokemon as I glided past her effortlessly.
"Berezi Aiza, you're a sophomore, fifteen years old I believe, with a B average last year." I spoke out, hoping to catch her off balance. It wasn't as if I had psychic powers or a photographic memory or some other nonsense. We had just done voting target run downs over the last week for the sophomore class, she was placed in the 'maybe' category.
"That's amazing.." Her jaw remained open for a minute as I continued to move away from her, the last thing I needed was another annoying knat buzzing around me, I wanted to plan my revenge, not satisfy the curiosity of a child. "How did you know about my grades, only the teachers know about that."
I turned to look back at her as she hurried to catch back up with me. "I'm the Student Council President, I'm supposed to know these things." She opened her mouth to speak but I quickly held a finger up. "Now I have quite a few things to do, if you need to talk to me you can schedule a time, and I would suggest you teach that Espeon some manners" I added in as a quick jab before turning and quickly heading back to my dorm room.
Tiffany Parker
http://www.upokecenter.com/pictures/dp/icons/icon152.gif
At first it started off as a dull touch, something touching a part of my body, or what I thought was part of my body from a far off distance. Yet quickly it progressed and centralized, it was touching my foot, I could feel it now, and it wasn't just a dull touch but a tickling sensation that increased and increased. With a sudden burst of energy I sprung up in bed, I kicked whatever was tickling me, sending a small weight off the bed and eliciting a familiar cry. "Chiko!" I cried out and climbed to the edge of the bed and looked down at the small pokemon. She must have been using her leaf to wake me up.
The memories of last night began to filter back in, picking up the glass, being discovered by the teacher, going to the pokemon center to pick up Chiko around sunrise, and then finally sneaking back into my dorm room with the hope I wouldn't wake my sleeping roommate.
I stole a glance at the electronic clock and groan, it was nearly noon, meaning I had only gotten around four hours of sleep. The room was dead quiet meaning my roommate had already left, probably out exploring the campus. "I just wanna sleep all day." I groaned, curling back up in my sheets, only for the tickling to return. I couldn't just kick Chiko again, and she wasn't going to let me sleep while a perfectly good day passed us by. "Okay okay I'm up." I signaled defeat and rose from bed.
~~~~~~~~~~~~

"Chiko... I think we're lost." We both sighed, Chiko perched on my shoulder like usual and glanced down at the map as I twist and turned it in my hands, trying to figure out where we were in relation to the beach and all the other fun stuff that everyone seemed to be doing today. "Maybe if we go this way!" I pointed off in one direction toward a group of buildings.

Chiko replied by tugging on my ear, and using her paw to point in the opposite direction. "But that... that goes that way..." I pointed on the map trying to identify the landmarks. "Or is it that way..." I glanced up again, the map really made no sense.

"Chiko..." Chiko sighed, shaking her head

"Umm hey, are you lost?" A upper classmate asked walking toward our direction.

"Well we are trying to find the beach but we are...kind of... very lost." Chiko and I both sighed in defeat, our shoulders slumped.

"Well..." She walked over and took the map from my hands and switched it around "You were holding it upside down" She laughed. I gave a bit of a embarrassed laughed as Chiko shot daggers toward me. "Now lets see, the beach... well we are here, so the beach would be down this path." She pointed toward a third path that neither Chiko nor I considered.

"Thanks!" I took off past her, forgetting to grab the map, it wasn't very far before we were at another set of cross roads, this time how ever the sound of waves could be heard. "Which way which way.." I pondered and reached for the map in my pocket, only to find it empty.

"Chiko?" Chiko asked curiously as I began to chuckle in embarrassment "Of course it's this way! We don't need to look at the map" I announced and turned toward the left.

"Actually it is the other way." A familiar voice called out, I turned to find the upper classman walking back up the path, holding up my map and waving in my direction. "I figured you might get lost again with out your map, here I'll take you to the beach!" She offered, handing back my map.

"Thank you so much!" I sighed and pocketed the map. "I'm Tiffany Parker, my big sister is.."

She finished the sentence before I could "Rachel Parker, everyone knows her." She added and then extended her hand. "I'm Berezi Aiza"

Sorry it isn't much, I am trying to figure out what to do with Tiff.

Not really a forest adventure post (at least, I don't think it is... yet, lol)

Karen Marshak

Earthquake + volcano = no good

*****

After her room mate went out, Karen went back to what she was earlier doing (that is, sleeping). Not only was it kinda early for her to go for a stroll – well, OK, so sometimes her father woke her up early in the morning to see nature’s wonders, but that’s a different story – but she had also spend a long night after a certain someone (which was herself, whoops) did something… unwise.

Surprisingly, she woke up rather quick (maybe about 20 minutes later or so). There was a rumbling this time as well – like the one made by Ochu the Bellsprout – except that this time it came from…

“I’m hungry. And sleepy. But most importantly, hungry,” she mentioned, to no one in particular. Except maybe to her stomach.

She rummaged through the stuff on her table – she had managed to make a jumble of mess on the first day – checking if there was anything to eat.

“Well, nothing here…” She glanced at Kaylee’s table, wondering – albeit a bit guiltily – if she had any food that she could… ‘borrow’. After she considered it for a while, she decided that it was best to leave her stuff alone.

Something on the table caught her attention though. There it was, lying in a position that suggested that its owner had meant to bring it with her, but had somehow absentmindedly forgotten about it.

What was it that they said? Something about it being important, and how we shouldn’t lose it…?Then, uh-oh.

A quick shower later, Karen was out walking – and to a certain degree, running – towards where the forest is. From what she knew, there were several ways one could take to enter the forest. She recalled that Kaylee did mentioned about the beach… didn’t she? Guess that’ll be where she’s heading then…

In her haste, she stumbled upon – guess who – Tiff’s older sister, Rachel, who was looking as snappy as she did when she last saw her. In fact, she now looked positively pissed off.

And Karen didn’t even say a word yet.

Not sure of what to say to this particularly irritated person, Karen grinned, and waved. The girl merely gave her an incredulous look, and then went (or maybe even stormed?) off without saying a word.

Well. Don’t need to worry about that, do we? Karen thought, and continue to look for said beach.

Wonder how she’s doing tho...

“Kaylee! Kaaaayleeeee! I wonder if this is working… Kaylee? K-ayyyy-le-”

“Karen!”

“Hmm?” Karen peered down from her sitting position. And it only took about three minutes or so

“Hi, Kaylee.”

“What on earth are you doing?”

“I’m up a tree.”

If such thing was possible, Kaylee would have been sweatdropping then. “Well, I can see that…”

“Nono, what I meant was that I’m in trouble, since I couldn’t find you by looking down through the trees… well, never mind, since you’re here now. Now, let’s see –where did I put that thing… aha! – catch, Ochu!”

Quite surprisingly, the Bellsprout managed to catch the item (although it does appear as if she was actually trying to avoid the ‘attack’, and not catching it).

“Oh, my ID card!” Kaylee plucked the card from Ochu’s vine-fingers. “I guess it just slipped my mind then…”

“I know, right? Good thing it’s with me, eh?”

“Yeah, it is. Thank you; sorry to trouble you so much.”

“Nah, it’s OK. I was thinking of going for a walk sooner or later. Uhh. Now if you could just wait for a bit… oh, and watch your feet.” Karen threw a Pokeball (which fell for a distance of about 15 feet that separate her from the ground.

What followed next was a slight shaking of the ground, with a somewhat-distant-but-actually-not-really rumbling.

Perhaps out of her Pokemon instinct, Ochu laid herself flat to the ground.

“Yaaahhh!” What came next could only be described as an instant reverse volcano, with a mound of earth suddenly popping out. Only this time, instead of lava, it was a girl (Karen). And instead of being spewed out, this girl went inside the mound (albeit only a fraction of her leg), with the mound slowly subsided, until the ground was more or less flat once again.

Karen struck a pose. “Ta-da! And best of all, no damage whatsoever!”

“Um. Uh.” Kaylee doesn’t seem to be that impressed. In fact, she seems to be assessing what she had just witnessed, thinking of a category where people like Karen belong to. Or maybe she was wondering how a little Dugtrio was capable of doing some neat reworking of the earth.

“What was that, Kaylee?” came an unfamiliar voice. “We thought we felt the ground shaking just now. You alright?”

“Yeah, I’m OK.” Presently, three people appeared, each with their respective Pokemon (Karen guessed that they were all from the other towers). They seem to be mildly and pleasently surprised to find someone else in the forest – after all, they themselves are in the forest now, aren’t they?

“This is my roommate, Karen.”

“Hi, guys. Wassup.”

Berezi stared at Tiffany for a second, she was so unlike her older sister. Not only was she a bit of a klutz she was also a bit absent-minded. The difference was almost flabberghasting.

Only the girl's "Ummm... are we going or what?" snapped her out of her trance. Berezi shook her head and looked at Tiffany again. "Oh, right." she said somewhat distantly.

The walked for a bit noting several Krabby slowly making their way across the beach along with several Wingull riding the drafts overhead. It wasn't long before they heard the familiar roar of the tide crashing against the shore. It was almost like something out of a painting.

Berezi took a whiff of the fresh salt air, it had been ages since she'd last seen anything like this, not since taking a trip to Normandy as a little girl. Azeri for his part was content to prod along lightly on the sand and avoid the water like the plague.

Blech! Water... Blech! SALT Water! Bad for my fur!

"What was that?", Tiffany said out of no where.

"What was what?", Berezi replied looking puzzled. "The talking, I heard someone else!", she replied almost freaking out.

She looked down at Azeri and raised her eyebrow. Azeri stared back making a rather cute innocent face at her, unfortunately for him she wasn't easily bought and he knew it.

Okay okay! I talked in front of her, sheesh. He said, licking his paw.

"He can talk?", Tiffany looked almost astonished. "Well... not exactly.", Berezi said as a matter of factly. "It's more like, if your intentions are pure or you're of good heart, you can hear him."

"You must have a lot of good in you so you must be able to hear him, I can hear him because he's been mine since I was 5 years old, my dad got him for me as an Eevee and he's been my companion ever since.", she continued.

"When he evolved into an Espeon... the bond between me and him grew stronger and one day I was just as shocked as you to discover I could hear what he was thinking, it's helped our friendship.", she nodded.

"Oh I see...", she looked down at Azeri and leaned down to pet him saying, "Hi.... uhh, what's his name again?", "Azeri.", Berezi replied.

"Hi Azeri, my name is Tiffany~", she petted him and he responded by purring.

Oooh yeah that's the spot can you scratch behind my ear? Hey, Berezi, I like this kid already!

"So he never says his name?", Tiffany looked up.

"Well he does he's just real quiet, he never has much to say to anyone and if he says anything to me he expresses it in that form... other than that he only ever expresses emotions so that's the only time you hear him make any time of sounds... he's not shy, he's just more of a watcher, I guess you could say"

I tried my best to hide my shock, I really did, but here was this Pokemon who could speak, but speak in my head! I had read about psychic Pokemon, but I always had thought it was like some inside joke that they could read your mind. "So can he bend spoons? Can he lift things into the air? Can he read minds?" The questions just became spilling out of my mouth, slightly to my own embarrassment, it was at this moment I was about three feet in the air, with my feet kicking nothing than air. The absolute shock of flying or levitating was enough to shut me up as Azeri slowly placed me back down on the warm sand. "Sorry, guess I was being a bit embarrassing" I blushed in embarrassment.

Out of the corner of my eye I could see Chiko walking around behind the Espeon, inspecting him, and then with a playful tug, pulled on the Espeon's tail with her vine before rushing off and hiding behind a rock, it was something Chiko did when she wanted to go play with a new Pokemon, most likely hide and go seek. Azeri cocked its head at the direction of the rock Chiko was hiding behind and then with what looked almost like a sly smile began to walk around aimlessly slowly heading toward the rock but pretending not to. I could almost see Chiko snickering at the thought she had fooled him, yet in the blink of a eye Azeri disappeared, and a second later a scream rang out as Chiko went scampering away from the rock and back into my arms, and Azeri chasing after her, having just teleported behind her.

'I wonder what Karen is doing right now' I thought to myself, thinking of my friend from last night who I had spent getting to know so well during our mutual punishment. I began to follow Berezi, aimlessly walking the beach with her. The beach seemed quiet which was surprising seeing how class began tomorrow. I glanced over at Azeri, and wondered if the Espeon could actually read minds as in if he could hear my thoughts. The idea was slightly creepy, and meant I would have to keep from thinking about anything private.

My mind went back to simple things, my favorite ice cream, my favorite food, my plans for the future. And then out of no where it suddenly sparked in my mind. "Hey Berezi?" I asked curiously.

She turned her head curiously to glance back at me. "I was thinking, this is a beach, and a popular school, do you think there is something secret buried at the beach? Like buried treasure or old pokeballs or test answers?" I asked curiously. "Just with your Espeon's psychic ability we might be able to have a chance to find something cool!" I spoke up a bit of excitement in my voice

It's been too long, rpg!

The canteen was busy, busier than I liked it to be but I didn't want to slink back to the tower and wait for it to get quieter so Shadow and I dealt with the numbers. It was freshers mostly, the ones who had yet to gauge the high and low tides of the school's mealtimes. It was lesson they'd learn quickly or not at all. I'd prefer it if they tried not to, a quiet period isn't quiet if that's when everybody tries to eat.

Despite it all, Shadow and I were still able to find our own patch of table away from the willing friendmakers and the curious upper classmen looking to be helpful.

"Same as last year," I muttered to the Eevee.

Shadow nibbled her meal without sound. I wasn't sure if she could even hear me over the rumble of chatter and I doubted that if my words had failed to reach her, that the noise was the only cause.

We ate in silence. She finished before me and started examining the room. She seemed odd, more alert than usual. Her nose was twitching. Suddenly, she jumped from the table and ran across the room. Through the various heads and bodies I saw her destination - a flareon.

"Great time for you to go all excited orphan," I muttered. "Well I ent saving you. You're making this mistake on your own."

Absolutely terrified

~*~*~*~*~*~

Tana got up early the next morning. She wasn’t quite used to the bed yet, as comfortable as it may be, and Tiffany was out all night, adding to her worries and thus had insomnia. Reannon, on the other hand, slept like a rock. Typical Reannon.

The girl yawned and rubbed one of her eyes with the back of her hand, taking a glance at her roommate’s side of the room. “I guess she came back safely after all.” Careful not to wake Tiffany or the Pokemon, Tana tiptoed out of bed and crouched down, pulling out one of the drawers gingerly, trying to make as little noise as possible, but she lost her balance and rammed her knee right into one of the corners. She yelped, waking Reannon, but Tiffany and Chiko on the other hand… they slept like the living dead. Her Pokemon looked annoyed for a moment, trying to figure out who disturbed her beauty sleep and why when she spotted her Trainer fussing over her bleeding knee. The giant blue bunny-rhino thingy hopped off the bed, landing with a thud, and looked up at her with concern.

“Reannon, shh, they’re still sleeping,” Tana whispered, rummaging through the closet this time for a first-aid kit or some kind of disinfectant and a band-aid. She couldn’t remember if she packed them in a separate container or just stuffed it all into a suitcase. After emptying out the floor of her closet while Reannon just sat and watched, she groaned to find that the first-aid kit was sitting on top of the dresser, right next to the ridiculously huge, bright pink make-up case that her mother insisted that she brought and a considerably less flashy box which contained some hair accessories and maybe a piece of jewelry or two. Looking back and forth between her wound and the mess on the floor, Tana saw that the wound had already began to scab over, inciting another groan. She reorganized and put away the rest of her belongings neatly and plopped back onto her bed, taking a look at the clock. “7:18 AM”

She dragged herself out of bed again and went through the contents of her still open drawer, finally deciding on a white tank top and Capri-length jeans. When she was done changing and putting her pajamas away, the girl closed the drawer with her foot and moved back to the closet, taking a denim jacket off its hanger and putting it on. She brushed her hair quickly and braided a lock on each side before deciding that she didn’t like how her hair looked today and opted for a black casquette to cover up the frizziness. Tana glanced over at the clock again and noted the time. “7:46 AM”

Reannon was bored out of her mind, thinking Tana took way too long each morning to get ready and laid on her back staring at the ceiling. Suddenly, they both heard a loud rumbling. Tana looked at her blushing face and smiled, “I guess we’re both hungry, huh?” She slipped on a pair of black, low-heeled, open-toe mules and made sure her ID card was safely in her bag before closing the door behind her and setting off for the canteen. Miraculously, there were no mishaps and she was able to find it with ease. Since it was still absurdly early, she was able to acquire food for herself and Reannon with ease.

When they were done with breakfast, they wandered onto the school grounds, walking leisurely and giving a smile or a wave to those they walked past. When they meandered by the volleyball, tennis, and basketball courts, the Nidorina tugged on one of her pant legs and pointed excitedly at the gate in front of them. “Okay, okay, we can go to the beach if you want, but if we get in trouble, I’m blaming you!” She let Reannon lead the way and surveyed the surroundings. Tana never really liked the beach, but she indulged her Pokemon, she couldn’t really say, “No, you’re not allowed to go to the beach Reannon. EVER.” It wasn’t like Reannon was spoiled, anyway, and she was generally well-behaved. Tana took off her shoes, not wanting to get sand in them and sat down on a patch of grass as her Nidorina frolicked around the sand, chasing the tides and making up her own little adventures. Before long, the girl nodded off.

~*~*~*~*~*~

Tana slowly opened her eyes, dazed. “Oh, right, I fell asleep. It’s the beach behind the school. I wonder where Reannon is…” Her eyes widened and she let out an ear-piercing shriek. She scrambled backwards, frozen in shock.

So uh... didja miss me? Tag whoever heard Tana at the beach. The thing that freaked her out was a Krabby.

With nails caked in sand and dirt, the four of us finally sat down under a nice shady tree to find some relief from the mid day sun. Chiko used her leaf and vines to carry around the collection of treasure we had found so far. Much of it had been rather hit and miss, with some spots being entirely empty even though Azeri had insisted that there was treasure buried underneath the sand.

"Lets see what we managed to uncover!" My voice filled with excitement after I had finished scraping the sand and dirt out from under my nails. Rachel would have told me it was unlady like to degrade myself to the level of digging in the sand, but I was not going to not do something that I asked Chiko to do.

"What a ton of junk!" Berezi remarked, shaking her head disapprovingly as I pulled out a rusted over necklace with what looked like a dirty fake purple diamond emboldened in the pendent.

"Don't call it that!" I shot back, cleaning off the necklace and draping it over Azeri's neck. "It matches your jewel!" I clapped my hands together before going back to dig through the various other seashells, rings, and necklaces we found.

Azeri shook his head, trying to get the necklace off as Berezi slowly eased it off of him before holding it up to the sunlight that seemed to peek through the tree. "Azeri really doesn't like to wear things." She explained, her voice far off as if she were lost in thought. "But maybe we could do something with all this crappy jewelry, maybe set up a charity drive at school with jewelry for Pokemon." She offered

My mind began to buzz with ideas, we could have a beauty booth and dress up Pokemon in all kinds of getups, we could even do it right outside the Pokemon Contest classes! "We would have to ask your sister for permission first." She added.

Suddenly my stomach sunk to my toes, my hopes and dreams were dashed, as much as I loved my sister she seemed to have turned a mean and cold streak lately. She would never have approved of such a thing infact she would probably laugh me out of the room. "Maybe we don't have to tell her?" I offered timidly.

Berezi looked at me for a second, her eye brow raised as if she was trying to figure something out. "Did you and your sister always have such a heated relationship?" She asked.

"She wasn't always this way." I tried to explain as I laid back down on the soft grass, Chiko jumping onto my stomach and settling down. "We used to be best friends, we would sleep in eachother's room and talk about Pokemon and what we wanted to do in the future, she would even talk to me about boys even though I was too young to understand."

"What happened?" Berezi asked curiously.

I shrugged my shoulders as I gazed down toward Chiko. "I don't know, I know people change when they go off to school." I paused and for the first time I allowed a bit of sadness to creep into my voice, breaking the cherry personality I had tried to keep up. "I really don't know."
