An insertion is the addition of one or more nucleotide base pairs into a DNA sequence. On a chromosome level, an insertion refers to the insertion of a larger sequence into a chromosome. This can happen due to unequal crossover during meiosis.

Initiation

The “start transcribing” signal is a nucleotide sequence called a promoter, which is located in the DNA at the beginning of the gene

The promotor is a specific place where RNA polymerase attaches. The first phase of transcription, aka initiation, is the attachment of RNA polymerase to the promoter and the start of RNA synthesis. For any gene, the promoter dictates which of the two DNA strands is to be transcribed (the particular strand varies from gene to gene)

RNA Elongation

During the second phase of transcription, elongation, the RNA grows longer. As RNA synthesis continues, the RNA strand peels away from its DNA template, allowing the two separated DNA strands to come back together in the region already transcribed.

Termination) In the third phase, termination, the RNA polymerase reaches a special sequence of bases in the DNA template called a terminator. This sequence signals the end of the gene. At this point, the polymerase molecule detaches from the RNA molecule and the gene, and the DNA strands rejoin.

In addition to producing RNA that encodes amino acid sequences, transcription makes two other kinds of RNA that are involved in building polypeptides.

--
“How does RNA polymerase “know” when to start transcribing a gene?”

It recognizes the gene’s promoter, a specific nucleotide sequence.

1920’s great depression scion of Loa god.

A white girl, a black pantheon, and an age in which both were outcasts. Orphaned as a result of WW1, raised in the south of France by vineyard owners, Lillian Jones lived and worked with the workers on the farm. Never knowing her real parents, and only finding love from the workers, she adapted to their lifestyle and learnt their stories. Many were immigrants from America, children and grandchildren of ex slaves. The brought with them stories of Voodoo gods, and the premise of freedom and equality.

Lillian was visited one night by the (Parent god/dess) and informed that their real parent was (god/goddess) of (original pantheon), who had traded her to the Loa gods as an offering of truce and alliance. Lillian was from that day forth, a Scion of (Loa god), and would be adopted in to the Loa culture as a white woman.

Lillian, or Lilly has tanned skin, green eyes, dark brown hair, with natural auburn highlights. She was raised as a farm hand, but has since moved on, travelling and helping both her ‘brothers and sisters’, and the community as a whole. She finds the oppressive nature of societies view on both blacks and women as a flaw, but realizes that she has no way to fix this alone. She is not interested in the fickle relationships of ‘gentlemen callers’, and finds the prospect of being tied down to a man for the rest of her life as pointless.

1) Round off mean, median, standard deviation, and quartiles to one decimal place more than
the original data contains. If data is integers, show 1 decimal.
2) Confidence intervals on mean follow the same rule as (1). Therefore use the same number of
decimal places on interval and the xbar.
3) Confidence interval on proportion: 3 decimals (1 if written with % sign) For example, show as
.056 to .098 or 5.6% to 9.8%.
4) Probability to 4 decimals or reduced fraction.
5) Test statistics and critical values to 3 decimals. Correlation coefficient is a test statistic.
6) Round off at the end - use unrounded numbers in intermediate steps.
7) For confidence intervals, round the low end down and the high end up.
8) For some types of problems (including expected values and slope and intercept of the
regression line) I have no set rule except to tell you how many decimals to use.

Immature eggs are discharged from the proglottids (up to 1,000,000 eggs per day per worm) and are passed in the feces. The incubation period in humans, after which eggs begin to appear in the feces is typically 4–6 weeks, but can vary from as short as 2 weeks to as long as 2 years.[7] The tapeworm can live up to 20 years.

STUDYING at La Trobe University? Then at least once in your life you have been stereotypically – and hopefully in jest – labelled as lazy, irresponsible, a hippy, an alcoholic, a procrastinator, a dole bludger, and so on and so forth. However, a recent study challenges this: not only does it validate it as a gross generalisation, it found that there is a far more severe epidemic plaguing university students.
The research, published in the November 2010 edition of ‘Australian Psychologist’, found that 83.9 per cent of students suffered high levels of stress, three times more than the national average. In addition, one in five suffer a serious mental illness, also three times more than the countries average. Despite this, only one third of the most affected have indicated they have consulted a professional, with most going to their GP; only nine per cent have seen a mental health professional.
Dr Anna Kokavec, Head of Section for the Bendigo School of Psychological Science at La Trobe University , believes that the alarming rate of stress has much to do with the financial pressures on students. “Although rent is cheaper here in Bendigo, most students have had to move away from home. For example, 75 per cent of psychology students have had to move away and come and study, making it very difficult to survive.”
But financial pressures aren’t the only stress associated with moving away from home, as Dr Kokavec, also the Chair of the Bendigo Branch of the Australian Psychological Society, argues that being away from family is of equal stress. “A lot of students are taking on board their problems from families. Any problems that happen at home they cannot get involved, hearing them second hand – for example, hearing their mother is in hospital. The only direct contact is telephone and the Internet, which are limited by their lack of non verbal communication and interaction.”
In such a dynamic and ever changing world, stress throughout one’s life is inevitable – the problem occurs when the stress becomes so overpowering that it restrains your progress which in turn can result in feelings of being a failure, guilt, and depressed. Going into future responsibilities with this attitude will undoubtedly make the stress unbearable once more – and so the cycle can potentially go on ad infinitum. Even that thought is stressing! Arghhh! So, what are ways to help manage your stress and anxiety, and ultimately live a happy and productive lifestyle?
No, it is not nine Jagerbombs out in Bendigo on a Saturday night. Alcohol is far too frequently an escape, a shield from anxiety, but ultimately leaving you feeling worse – not just a physical hangover, but a mental (depressive) hangover – and at far greater risk of dependence and addiction when older. It teaches you not to manage emotional issues, rather to cover it up. “We have found that the high rate of depression and anxiety has a lot to do with binge drinking. While not as high as other universities, there is that need to socialise, and alcohol is wrongly associated with that.”
What may sound too simple to work, is one of the most effective means in both managing stress and being happy – and that is just adapting a constructive thought pattern. How we interpret life events has a huge influence on how much stress and anxiety we endure. It is far too often for our stream of consciousness to be self-defeating, which becomes rather self-reinforcing: for perceiving a situation/task as stressful and too difficult to cope with will obviously heighten our anxiety, subsequently paralysing our best efforts to succeed.
So, we must become aware of our negative thought patterns, converting them to a constructive perspective – planning, assertiveness, self belief etc. Since if you think you are able, you are able. Mindfulness and meditation, which is becoming more and more accepted into Western medicine, is a state of powerful relaxation, with living in the present moment and self-awareness being the goal. “Students are generally not aware of meditation. Relaxation techniques are invaluable, and when students come to see me, that is something I recommend,” says Dr Kokavec. Meditation allows you to become more aware of how mere thoughts – which you have the potential of complete control over – have the power to manifest themselves into overpowering emotions. Once you have the awareness of your thoughts, you have the capacity to transform them. “Your brain doesn’t have to be blank. Meditation is about keeping the brain now: worrying about the future and the past, and the mind will take you away from the present.”
Exercise is just not great for your physical well being; it is an excellent way to keep the mind happy and healthy. It makes you feel accomplished, a self-esteem booster, channeling into the best you you can be. Moreover, when we endure stress, our body produces adrenaline – unused adrenaline leaves us feeling stressed and overwhelmed, unable to ‘chill’. Exercise, as well as boosting serotonin levels (the feel-good hormone), burns off the adrenaline, allowing you to relax and see things in a clearer perspective. While Dr Kokavec feels that university students exercise habits are “okay”, it is more to do with the fact that so many abuse alcohol. What is of more concern is
Nutrition

The coolest gift I ever gave was a car.

One of my friends had blown up the engine in his Ford Tempo, and was without a car. He worked at Burger King, and I knew he would not be able to afford another car anytime soon. I owned two cars, one of them being a 1981 Lincoln Continental Gevenchey Edition. It was ratty, had almost 200k miles on it, but it ran like a champ. (The other car was my 1986 Mercury Grand Marquis, and that car was my BABY!)

I wish I had a camera to catch the look on his face when I tossed him the keys and handed him the envelope with the title in it. His coworkers refered to him as "Superpimp' from that day on.

It's hard to say what the best gift I ever recieved was. I have been VERY blessed over the years, and nothing really jumps out at me. They were all awesome!

I've posted the at the Battle Range. It's just the first battle, but I wanted to post something before my brother came home. The battle itself is tiny in comparison to the intro, which goes to show how tired and I was and how hurried my writing was. But at least I think it makes sense.

Use a condom. As a doctor, I've seen many of your people complaining about catching AIDS while they've used anti-pregnancy pills. We have to explain them that in a homosexual intercourse, what matters is security and immunity from STDs, not preventing pregnancy. Some ask why, and we have to go all the way explaining human reproduction system in detail.

Life sucks.

Recently, I put eye drops into my room mates water because we never get along and I know i shouldn't have but, I just wanted to get her a "little sick" but, she ended up in the ER and had blood work done and the report came out that she was poisoned with: Tetrahydrozoline (eye drops). When I heard this I freaked out because I had told some of my friends about the incident and then they told her and now she wants to press charges against me.....what will happen to me?

(09:23:33 PM) Lady Vulpix G: Rhyperior: You guys are so weird. I wonder what this thing does. *Throws the die at Kiara. The die falls and emits an eerie pink glow... but Kiara is unaffected because she's poisoned.*
#
(09:24:43 PM) Lady Vulpix G: (Hold on. Phone.)
#
(09:24:51 PM) Amy Hall: k
#
(09:27:52 PM) Lady Vulpix G: Angry, the Rhyperior uses Stomp on Caledor (56 damage, leaving him with 46).
#
(09:29:52 PM) Amy Hall: kiara uses toxic
#
(09:30:02 PM) Lady Vulpix G: I know.
#
(09:30:37 PM) Lady Vulpix G: Caledor tries to shoot a Hydro Pump at him, but misses. Kiara's Toxic, however, connects.
#
(09:31:07 PM) Lady Vulpix G: But Kiara loses another 18 HP, leaving her with 33.
#
(09:34:02 PM) Lady Vulpix G: The Rhyperior's horn starts spinning.
#
(09:34:34 PM) Lady Vulpix G: Caledor: Kiara, watch out!
#
(09:35:49 PM) Lady Vulpix G: (I'm not having another YK situation, so I'm assuming Kiara dodges.)
#
(09:36:40 PM) Amy Hall: yeah
#
(09:37:04 PM) Amy Hall: and tries anoher fire blast
#
(09:37:55 PM) Lady Vulpix G: While Caledor tries another Hydro Pump from the side. Let's see how it goes (by the way, the Rhyperior just lost 14 HP).
#
(09:38:16 PM) Lady Vulpix G: Ouch. Hydro Pump misses again.
#
(09:39:07 PM) Lady Vulpix G: But the Fire Blast connects.
#
(09:40:20 PM) Lady Vulpix G: It does 58 damage.
#
(09:40:44 PM) Lady Vulpix G: 174 HP left.
#
(09:40:57 PM) Lady Vulpix G: I mean 154.
#
(09:46:50 PM) Amy Hall: ok, kiara will try another fire blast if shes able
#
(09:47:31 PM) Lady Vulpix G: She has 15 HP left at this point.
#
(09:52:00 PM) Lady Vulpix G: Rhyperior: *Turns to Caledor.* Stop doing that! *Hits him with Ancientpower, dealing 31 damage.* Caledor's HP: 15. Rhyperior's HP: 126.
#
(09:53:10 PM) Lady Vulpix G: Caledor doesn't stop doing that, and this time he succeeds.
#
(09:53:17 PM) Lady Vulpix G: The Rhyperior falls.
#
(09:54:09 PM) Amy Hall: Kiara: *coughs*
#
(09:54:42 PM) Lady Vulpix G: Caledor runs to her side.
#
(09:55:08 PM) Lady Vulpix G: Caledor: Kiara, hang in there. *Looks at me.* Is there any way to help her?
#
(09:56:52 PM) Amy Hall: (what is it miracle berrie do gfain)
#
(09:57:15 PM) Lady Vulpix G: (Cures any status ailment. Just what the doctor prescribed.)
#
(09:58:32 PM) Lady Vulpix G: Gabi: I have a Miracle Berry I've been carrying for an emergency. I guess this merits its use.
#
(09:59:26 PM) Amy Hall: (i had one as well if yo'd rather me use mine) i was goign through my ites
#
(09:59:53 PM) Lady Vulpix G: (Maybe we can both get ours at the same time.)

#
(10:01:44 PM) Lady Vulpix G: Caledor: That's really nice of you girls, but I think just one will do. Kiara, you can take either. It'll help you feel better.

#
(10:07:31 PM) Lady Vulpix G: Caledor: *Kisses her cheek.* Everything's going to be fi - ow! I mean fine. Everything will be fine.
#
(10:09:03 PM) Lady Vulpix G: Tsunami: I appreciate your attempts, but you're not fooling anyone this time. You're in a really bad shape yourself. If we're going to continue, maybe you should both rest inside your pokeballs.
#
(10:10:41 PM) Lady Vulpix G: Pidgeot: We've come too far to turn back now. Going back would be as hard as moving on, and all our efforts would have been in vain. We have to continue.
#
(10:12:20 PM) Amy Hall: Kiara *nuzzles caledor back*
#
(10:13:53 PM) Amy Hall: Yana: I agree that you two would proably be best inside your pokeballs and *nuzzles Sinopa* That beign said i proably need to myself... *winces as she puts too mcuh bressure on her back paw*
#
(10:16:00 PM) Lady Vulpix G: Caledor: OK, OK, but I want to see what happens when we get there. And if there's any use for a light show...
#
(10:16:42 PM) Lady Vulpix G: Gabi: You're trying too hard and we know you too well. But don't worry, you'll get to see what happens. *Sends him into the pokeball.*
#
(10:17:34 PM) Amy Hall: I recall Kiara and yana goes bsck in hers as well
#
(10:17:58 PM) Lady Vulpix G: Hero: Who will do all the cheering stuff now?
#
(10:18:20 PM) Lady Vulpix G: Pidgeot: There's a time for everything. Now it's time to find Yssera.

#
(10:20:43 PM) Lady Vulpix G: As we continue our ascent, Ventura gives us a cryptic warning.
#
(10:20:54 PM) Lady Vulpix G: Ventura: Good news and bad news.
#
(10:21:15 PM) Lady Vulpix G: Before she can continue, a Flygon comes flying our way.
#
(10:21:45 PM) Lady Vulpix G: But he's shot down by an Ice Beam from behind a rock.
#
(10:22:01 PM) Lady Vulpix G: Ventura: OK, that leaves only the good news, thankfully.
#
(10:22:36 PM) Lady Vulpix G: A Glalie comes out from behind the aforementioned rock.
#
(10:23:13 PM) Lady Vulpix G: He looks at us, then turns around and calls out: "Hey, guys, look who's finally here!"
#
(10:26:19 PM) Lady Vulpix G: Golden Growlithe soon shows up, accompanied by an Espeon, a Clefairy and a Smoochum.
#
(10:26:26 PM) Lady Vulpix G: (Have you met him before?)
#
(10:26:50 PM) Amy Hall: (I dont' believe that i have)
#
(10:29:17 PM) Lady Vulpix G: Gabi: *Sighs.* It's great to see friendly faces at last. Have you met each other before? Sorry, I know I see all of you a lot, but I'm not sure if you've ever been together.
#
(10:32:38 PM) Lady Vulpix G: GG: I don't believe that we have. I'm Ivan, a.k.a. Golden Growlithe from the Dragon's Guild. These are my friends Glice, Glyph, Arim and Linyi. You're from the Dragon Tamers, aren't you?
#
(10:34:43 PM) Amy Hall: *nods* yeah. I'm Amy.
#
(10:36:19 PM) Lady Vulpix G: GG: *Extends a hand.* Nice to meet you, Amy.
#
(10:37:10 PM) Lady Vulpix G: Gabi: Where's the rest of your team?
#
(10:39:33 PM) Lady Vulpix G: GG: Lavy's body's not fit to climb mountains, so she's in a pokeball for now. As for Orknye... I wish I knew. He was gone when I got here, and all Glyph could tell me was that he felt a surge of Psychic energy in the night before he disappeared. To tell the truth I'm quite worried about him.
#
(10:40:59 PM) Lady Vulpix G: Gabi: Oh, no. You don't think...?
#
(10:44:18 PM) Lady Vulpix G: Glyph (Espeon): He'd never join Yssera, I'm sure of that. But she may have done something to him that he wasn't expecting. We've been watching her day and night and we still don't know the full extent of her powers. Still, we have to confront her. Hopefully, it'll be easier to find him when she's gone, or at least disabled.
#
(10:45:00 PM) Lady Vulpix G: Ventura: You sound quite confident about our chances against her.
#
(10:47:50 PM) Lady Vulpix G: Glyph: She's getting desperate. That's why she's launched the attack against Sybyll. She hasn't been able to break the seal yet, so with any luck we'll only need to rebuild the seal that was broken. I don't know how to do it, but I gather we have nearly all the pieces of the puzzle. Not to mention someone with great knowledge trusts that we'll be able to defeat her. It's what we came here to do, and yes, I believe we can do it.
#
(10:48:40 PM) Lady Vulpix G: Gabi: OK, that's some piece of information. Don't you think you could have shared it sooner?
#
(10:49:30 PM) Lady Vulpix G: Glyph: We weren't sure about it until recently, and to be honest it was hard to find the words to say it now.
#
(10:51:23 PM) Lady Vulpix G: Iael: It was quite a mouthful as it was. I can't say I got all of that. But I do know there's at least one more missing pokemon. Could Flame and Orknye be together?
#
(10:52:17 PM) Lady Vulpix G: GG: Flame, the Charizard that was reported missing yesterday?
#
(10:52:28 PM) Lady Vulpix G: *Gabi nods.*
#
(10:54:54 PM) Lady Vulpix G: Glyph: I doubt it. Judging by the kind of energy I sensed last night I'd say that, unless Flame has unknown psychic abilities, he and Orknye are in completely different places. But I'll be glad to join the search for Flame once we're done here. The more I think of it, the more I have the feeling that Orknye will be fine.

A six-month supply of uncontaminated food and fresh water was still aboard, and the crew's personal possessions and artifacts were left untouched, making a piracy raid seem extremely unlikely. It appeared the vessel had been abandoned in a hurry. There was no sign of a struggle, or any sort of violence.[12]

Which Ajah do you belong to?

According to the test ...
You belong to the Yellow Ajah!

Members of the Yellow Ajah focus on Healing, mostly the body with the One Power, but there are also those who seek to heal the mind in other ways. Yellows are firm in their belief that the One Power is the best method of Healing, and it is often said that they will try to Heal anything they come across. While Yellows care about the well-being of others, they can often be very arrogant, too self-assured and even flamboyant at times.
This is your result in its entirety:

Yellow Ajah: 6
Red Ajah: 4

(01:32:31 PM) Gabi: Last year my grandparents offered to buy my ticket with Delta SkyMiles.
(01:33:05 PM) Gabi: They called Delta and were told that the miles they had were not enough to buy the ticket, so they called American Express to buy the extra miles.
(01:33:48 PM) Gabi: A few days later I called Delta and the miles hadn't arrived yet, so I bought last year's ticket with my credit card.
(01:34:43 PM) Gabi: A few days later I got a message from Delta saying that the miles had arrived, but since I already had a ticket I canceled the reservation with Delta and I was told I could use the miles this year.
(01:35:16 PM) Gabi: So this year I tried to use the miles... only to learn that the rates had changed and now I needed more miles.
(01:35:55 PM) techmastergltch: Ouch. >_<
(01:35:57 PM) Gabi: Back to AmEx to buy the extra miles: my grandfather did this and told me to call Delta a week later.
(01:36:16 PM) Alteisentier: What is miles in this context?
(01:36:26 PM) Gabi: Reward points.
(01:36:33 PM) Gabi: Delta calls them miles.
(01:36:33 PM) Alteisentier: What do they do?
(01:36:45 PM) Gabi: You can buy stuff with them, like plane tickets in this case.
(01:36:53 PM) Alteisentier: Curious.
(01:36:57 PM) Gabi: But they'll make it near impossible for you to buy them.
(01:37:10 PM) Gabi: OK, so as I was saying, I did that. The following week I called Delta and... guess what?
(01:37:21 PM) Gabi: The miles had arrived, but the rate had changed again.
(01:37:31 PM) techmastergltch: x(
(01:38:14 PM) Gabi: This time they took my reservation and told me I had 8 days to get the miles, and that I could buy them directly from Delta's website to get a discount.
(01:38:49 PM) Alteisentier: This sounds like an incredibly confusing system.
(01:39:15 PM) Gabi: I tried to do that, but I didn't have a Delta account (and for some unknown reason you can't buy miles unless you've already earned some yourself), and I didn't know my grandfather's PIN.
(01:39:36 PM) Gabi: Worst of all, my grandfather was in Chile at that moment, so I had to wait until he returned.
(01:41:46 PM) Gabi: When he came back from Chile, I talked to him and he said he didn't remember his PIN. So we called Delta together yesterday, and were told to send an e-mail to a really obscure address (sclresskymls.delta@delta.com) with my grandfather's name, member number and his personal ID attached, asking for a new PIN and saying it was urgent because the reservation would expire in 2 days.
(01:42:29 PM) Gabi: Luckily, my grandfather already had his ID scanned, so I sent the e-mail and waited (I had to send it twice because I got the address wrong the first time).
(01:43:06 PM) Gabi: Today I checked my inbox and nothing had happened. I called Delta and was told that all SkyMiles operators were busy, and to try again in half an hour.
(01:44:25 PM) Gabi: I waited half an hour and called again. This time a nice girl picked up and helped me through the process of asking the e-mail people to check their e-mail, and when they said they hadn't got it let me send it again and waited until they'd received it and replied.
(01:44:26 PM) llearch: wow. This is amazingly rubbish.
(01:44:56 PM) Gabi: Then I was finally able to get the PIN, buy the extra miles and call Delta again to complete the purchase.
(01:45:06 PM) Gabi: What llearch said.
(01:45:50 PM) Alteisentier: This does not sound like a productive method of business.
(01:46:01 PM) Gabi: Definitely not.
(01:46:28 PM) Gabi: That's why now I'm warning people against trying to buy plane tickets with Delta miles.
