Master of Paradox vs. Blademaster (DL 'cause I'm sick like that.)

[Master of Paradox]

Since Blade has an open spot in his roster, and I feel the need to get back into the game as long as I'm here, I challenged Blade to a simple battle. He accepted, and here we are.

The rules:
- Three Pokemon each.
- No abilities, since that rule was added while I was away and I'm not used to it yet.
- No moves barred.
- Who calls out first will be decided by the ref. The one who calls out second makes the first move.

Our location: The Neon City Helipad.


Neon City is a bustling metropolis, thus named because the lights are never truly off, no matter what the hour. The city is in full swing tonight. This helipad is atop one of the tallest buildings in the city, and is currently free of traffic. A tall barricade keeps the wind from blowing the Pokemon away. From time to time, searchlights sweep this rooftop. All around the rooftop are the lights of the city, including several giant TV screens playing advertisements.

It's good to be back.

Let's start off easy on him, shall we?

Use Rain Dance. Then use Psychic to fling Light across the roof, and gun it down with a Thunder attack in mid-air.

Use Magic Coat if it tries any status attacks.

Light, let's get things under way with a Thunder once the rain starts. Swift to knock the other Starmie off-balance when it tries to grab you with the Psychic, and then Protect yourself from the return Thunder.

Ahh the lights, the city lights! You never know what you can find here. DL here everyone, with a exclusive match for you all to witness today. Was have Blademaster, of Glitz Pit Infamy-taking on Master of Paradox, a veteran of the game! They're both using a Starmie to open this rooftop rumble, so lets get it on!

Light and GrandStar both start to revolve around each other, but for two different reasons. GS begins to draw the clouds in, making the lighted city's up that much more intense up here, while Light begins to call the lightning and Thunder. As soon as the first few drops falls, out follows a Thunder-shocking GS immensely.

Grand Star smolders intensely, and rises back to even height with Light. Light starts to attain a vertical position, but Grand star shoots out Psychic force that flings Light like a shuriken across the roof. Even in this motion, Light manages to fire off ministarmie shaped stars of its own-each tagging one leg of Grand Star.

Light rotated fast enough for its forward momentum to stop, and was bathed in a bright blue light from one of the signs a few feet below. As Light zoomed forward to cover the distance between them, GS tried for a massive Thunder itself. The rain helped the bolt shoot down toward Light, but Light erected a barrier. The powerful electric bolt splayed and dispersed in all directions as Light sliced through it.

As the echidnoderms fly around this rooftop, each decides to start off with a aerial assault,. They swoop at each other, and while stars alight Grand, a massive Thunder razes Light and sends it flopping on the rooftop. The excess electricity flies through conduit cables and makes a few signs glow even brighter in the rain.

Smoldering, Light tries to fire off a Thunderbolt, but Grand star is atop of it, and shoots another Thunder right from its stomach to Light's gem! Light electrocuted like no ones buisness, ueses the spare electricity to refract and throw a small portion of it back to Grand Star, creating a backlash.

That Thunderbolt gave Grand something to think about.

Grand Spun in place as Light now shot off an even smaller excess charge from those two hits. Grand smirked and watched the wave band around its body, before a thin veil made itself apparent. The waves bounced back and shot right for Light. Light had no choice but to succumb to paralysis.

Grand Star and Light square off under the stark glare of a spotlight as it sweeps across the field. Glad these starfish don't have eyes. As the light sweeps the field, Light finds out that its limbs are still functioning and manages to wrap that Thunderbolt around its own body, before sending it back with a Psychic affront!

Light floated upward and tried to set itself up for the next act, but found its body unable to move. The light show from the spotlights doesn't help and Light is struck by a brilliant ray.

With Light undergoing a nice bout of parafusion, Grand Star fires a second Thunderbolt to try and get a foothold on the lead. Light flops on the roof, hurt pretty bad from that strike.

The rain ends for now, giving all the signs a stronger glow from the mist.

As lights stop sweeping along the helipad, Grand Star floats up to a lofty height. This way, it can see whatever comes, or doesn't come its way. For the first few moments, it looks like nothing. So Grand Star decides to give that resting Light a little jolt. Nothing like a Thunderbolt to snap you out of confusion!

Paralysis relinquished, and Light knew that it had to make a comeback. SO with all the energy of the ...well not the storm but the sky, a Thunder was called upon that lowered Grand Star back to the helipad rather forcefully. Grand Star managed to funnel alot of that energy and throw it at Light, encased in a purplish pink orb of hate.

Neon City seems to give an extra boost of glowing as Pudge drops down silently. Blade hisses at the Pokemon of choice, and Grand Star draws back, spinning rapidly. A piece of the gem in its center flips out, acts as a shiny beacon for Pudge. It's irresistible; it seems and Pudge begins to bat at with with a kitten's curiosity. Pudge is heavypawed and Slashes the gem a few times, watching it crumble into still enchanting pieces.

Watching from a few feet away, Grand Star hopes this works out...

Still enamored with the shining pieces left, Pudge now decides to light up the pieces with a Thunder. The blast hits the remainder of the Substitute, leaving only ashes and smoke that flies away. Grand Star thanks the heavens and tries to heal away the pain, but realizes its energy reserves are damn near empty. It takes almost all it has in order to heal a great deal.

Grand Star backs up and erects a shield, as Pudge realizes the true target was standing idly by. Hissing at the true Grand Star, Pudge noticed a short but brilliant Ray was fired. The feline manages a barrier to deter the bright lights from Grand, and watches Grand slump over in exhaustion.

Pudge strides over as the starfish seems to slump over. Encircling his prey, the feline goads it by slashing its backside twice. Grandstar wriggles, but otherwise, makes no motion to attack.

Pudge keeps circling the echinoderm, and Slashes its front side as well, glad to see a prey that knew defeat. Batting it around was just out of consequence

But the limp prey always grow boring. Pudge felt no more danger from Grand Star, so what was there to do o this rooftop. Sleep! He circled around a spot twice before lying down, in full view of GrandStar. The second Pudge's head hit the ground, Grand Star's body popped up. Pudge freaked, and jumped backwards, but the trap had already been set. A strange set of beams extended from each of Star's hands and they each connected to Pudge.

Acting like plungers on needles, Star began zapping the life force from Pudge, and adding it to its own. It took nearly all its energy again, but now things were even.

This was unnerving. Pudge hissed and crackled as electricity rained all over its body, releasing itself in a violent volley. The blast threw Grandstar into a sign bulb, causing a severe gash along its backside. Afterr falling from the sign, Grandstar lied on the roof, still pooped

Grandstar though, was not out of the woods. Pudge ran over and slashed him feverishly. It had some oomph behind it too, giving Grandstar cause for concern. Why sit through all this?

Pudge meowed and tried to end this match while the spotlight was on hm. Well they were scanning the roof actually, but that's not the point. The point is, Pudge goes for another crackling rage of energy, which is spread everywhere by a barrier! Grand Star waddles backwards, winded from that.

This Starfish was living for FAR too long. Pudge ran up to it, and even through the blinding glare of the neon lights, slashes the water dweller successfully. However, Pudge gets a nice heaping amount of sludge all over its body. Yech. (-2)

Feeling better about Star's condition now, Pudge takes three steps back. Star fires off a blast of water to keep the cat at bay, and it works. Pudge literally vanishes into thin air.

Actually, that bodes bad because Pudge reappears alongside Star and slams him into the back of a bright orange sign. Star is electrocuted to unconsciousness. Pudge hacks a lil bit (-1) but its just a hairball....prolly.

We return with Grand Star to Blademaster's side of the rooftop arena, where he contemplates his next choice. Deciding on trying something a bit fresher, he opts for a younger addition to his team. A spry antlion walks out, and clamps its mighty jaws once.

A second chap, and Pudge notes the sky start to have a whistling sound attached to it. The neon lights go dim, and the sound of some bulbs being cracked can be heard. A Sandstorm is whistling over the roof, and about to descend on them both! Pudge will have none of that however, He runs around, meowing as the sands strike in the beginning (-2H), but soon turn into just heavy drops of dirty water. The winds now bring clouds, and with that, no chance of a continued Sandstorm.

Determined to put a serious dent in this thing's hide, Pudge runs over and...gets a hefty amount of Mud in the face. Seems Chomplet had his mouth open the whole time for the sandstorm AND the beginning of the rain. Quite easy to make a Mud-Shot from that. Ew (-2h). Wiping the heavier clumps off, Pudge slaps the damn animal, trying to bat it off the roof.

A second smack to force that thing back, and Pudge felt confident he could knock it all the way to the FR_ _ I_ _ E R_ _ _ sign that was flickering due to the sand storm. The letters would soon show up. Pudge didn't count on Chomplet retaliating with an earthern blast that flew up from below and blasted him backwards. What was this thing!(-2h)

Let's grant his wish, Chomplet: Use Sunny Day while he's sitting there doing nothing. Then do a little photsynthesis on him with a Giga Drain. Then wait for him to use his third move, and finish him off when he's out of moves:

Pudge looks pretty ragged right now. Its hacking up poisonballs all over the place (-3). Looking all mangy, he decides to take it easy, as these blistering sands cut its face up a lil more (-1). Chomplet however, figures that's enough, and conjures up the sun to come and slap this storm away. The Neon signs find it a blessing as well, as their lightbulbs wont no longer be under excessive strain.

Feelign a bit more focused, Pudge hacks summore, and ends up releasing a bevy of seeds. It wasn't sure what it could have eaten that would allow for so many large Seeds to leave its stomach like that(-3), but the attack bombards Chomplet pretty heavily.

Chomlet takes the hit, and retaliates with an ethereal robbery. Pudge's already declining health drops to an even lower level. To make matters a bit more favorable, that health is given back to Chomplet.

For such a powerful hit, Chomplet didn't seem too phazed about quickly ending this. But Pudge did. With the heat on, the next attack didn't get as much oomph as it needed for Pudge's plan(-3), but there was a side effect Chomplet wasn't planning on. The Pulse hit, and left Chomplet with in a daze.

The confident little antlion tried for a Fissure, but the splitting Rooftop went in the complete opposite direction, breaking a sign in two as the building now sported a hefty crack.

I hate to be an asshole like this, but I refuse to lose this early in the game. I may not be anywhere near "good" at this anymore, now that the grounds have changed, but GODDAMNIT I WON'T LOSE ON THE SECOND OPPONENT!

Pudge hisses, as Chomplet walks around chomping its maw in rhythm. Keeping his tail curled around himself, Pudge manages to fire a second Water Pulse. It seems to have an effect of the small ground type, but Pudge seems to have trouble seeing right now.(-4). Chomplet manages to focus, and pushes the confusion to the very back of his mind.

Knowing that the battle could be over damned quickly with this sickness, Pudge lies down, right as Chomplet runs over. Determined to rest, Pudge hissed and tucked his head in his arms. Chomplet linked up with Pudge's energy as Pudge seemed to fall instantly in a trance. A combination of energies were grown and transferred, but at the end of the day...(-4)

Pudge is asleep-barely alive. Chomplet is a little healthier, and this match continues anew

Pudge rolls over, dead asleep. It seems all its energy in that last attack, and needs some time to recover a bit.

The kitty stays asleep, quietly curled over there one the roof. eh roof that once again is encased in a nasty Sandstorm. That wily little Trapinch, getting his energy's worth of damage (-1)

The cat may have regained enough power to attack, but he keeps sleeping, letting that energy build so he doesn't run out too fast. Chomplet takes this time to do a very unorthodox attack. He jumps on the roof and forces the building to withstand an Earthquake! This Quake opens up a new fissure, and both Pokemon fall to the floor below.

On this floor, the windows flash with the colors of the signs outside, and the Sandstrom doesn't hit Pudge

Well that's just well. Chomplet snaps his jaws together once in irritation, but decides to make the best of it. The Sand that falls in from up top is gfathered and flung without discretion, right at Pudge...or at least, where Pudge was! Chomplet looks around, where'd that cat go?

He'd find out the hard way as a mass of fur strikes him to the right, barreling into a bunch of boxes. Pudge then curled right back asleep.

Cici knew this was a critical situation, and as such, she loosens her vines just enough so when Chomp let whipped his head back and forth-the vines would not be ripped from her shell. The backwards jerking action still stung the Shuckle, as Chomp took in deep breaths. One of those breaths however, was littered with an acidic spray that made Chomp gag.

Chomp looked around, suddenly unfamiliar with the land as it was. Cci smirked and just bided her time, as the evil little antlion went for a vanishing act, digging underground. His reapparance was to be expected, but the unpredictable was the when.

No matter, as Chomp came up, Cici's shell seemed to swing back with a pendulum force. Chomp flew back and rolled over its own jaws, stunned.

Chomp shook off the hit, getting himself geared up for some biting fun. Cici was swift this time, reeling in her bagwormy self into that shell. Chomp poked at the rock in its entirety, before opening his mouth wide and Crunching on the rockshell! The damage done was minimalized a bit, but Cici felt her home give just a little.

Chomp released the bagworm shell, and Cici shot her vines out immediately. They once again wrapped around Chomp, but this time they coiled around his body. Chomp groaned, this thing was pretty good at bear hugs.

Constriction! Chomp felt dizzy, but he kept his focus on one vine. Just one particular vine.

Cici kept wrapping, her head focused so intently on the Trapinch's small body, that she didn't pay attention to his jaws glowing. Until of course, when Chomp darted inward and opened his mouth right over the hole where the vine coiled around his chest was exiting from.

Cici creamed as the vines were forcefully blasted with a Hyper Beam. This concussive force sent Cici flying up through the crack in the roof, in the glare of hundreds of flashing lights. Chomp backed away, exhausted, but determined.

Cici however, fell right back into the crack, to join Chomp, and she looked angered. That Beam was pretty flashy, but not as powerful as he prolly wanted it to be.

Still gasping in short harsh intervals, Chomplet was an easy target for the bagworm and its shell like slam. Chomplets jaws bounced on the ground twice and left him upside down.

RAWR! This little one wont give! He rolled over as those vines came to wrap his body up like a mummy once more. Chomplet jumped back from the first attempt and smashed his head against the ground 2,3,4 times!

Cici didn't exactly know what to expect, but she did her a rumbling as she grabbed Chomplet. The vines began their death squeeze, easily suffocating the Trapinch to unconsciousness...but with his falling came a fall of debris from the roof. Cici freaked, as she was buried under it.

With his Chomplet gone, Blade looks to his second Pokemon and flings out a Pokeball that's seen better days on Bob Ross show. Out plops a Smeargle, and Cici takes full advantage. She rolls her shell into Il's gut forcing him to focus on pain rather than painting.

He winces from the strike, but manages to continue painting in the air. He manages to fit a glove on his hand, in the shape of a Lobster claw.

Emboldened with her latest strike, Cici now went back to her standard methods of domination. Tentacles slithered and coiled around Il's midsection. Instead of being inhibited like Chomplet before, Il kept his Lobster claw raised. As the Wrap began to squeeze, he snap the hinged weapon shut on those tentacles. Cici freaked and released him immediately

Tentacles still caught in his grip, Il pulled his arm backwards. Cic was yanked forward and she braced herself, as Il played paddleball with his lobster fist as the racket. Cici was hammered a good 4 to 5 times before she was released. Rolling on the ground, the bagworm took a moment to regain her composure. Tentacles shot back out for a hasty constrict, but she was super wary of this painter now.

Cici didn't like this new creative mastermind one bit. But Il was loving it and with wand in hand he began to draw a nozzle...connected to-ACK! No, she put a stop to that, wrapping her vines around his arm and pulling on him so his drawing laid to rest, unfinished. Ticked, Il used that claw and engaged another Vice Grip on her vines.

Cici did not let go of that drawing hand, and that left Il with no other choice, but to Clamp on Cici's vines to free his hand, but he had to be careful to not crush his own hand. This Clamp though, was shattered by Cici actually jumping up and reeling herself into that shell, bashing it against Il's chest.

Cici had the advantage for the moment and tightened her vines against that hand, starting to sprain it. Il growled, and shoved his Crab hand forth, smashing Cici into the ground. Cici wriggled, but I'l just treated her like a cashew, hammering it until she broke off.

Grabbing that Lobster apparetus once more with his weaker arm, Il slammed and beat and snapped at those viney appendages-and to the port they were snaking free from. It took a while before Cici finally withdrew

Cici wasn't done yet. She pushed herself toward Il, and reached for his tail, of all things! Il was very miffed about that, you don't grab a painters most prized possession! He swung at the incoming bagworm, and cracked his Lobster claw against her. With the power of both moves colliding, Il was the one to fall back as his Lobster Claw shattered from the impact! He sat there, stunned as Cici rolled to a stop.
