According to NintendoWorldReport (http://www.nintendoworldreport.com/news/26460), a new 3D Pokédex app will be among the initial offerings of the Nintendo 3DS eShop when it launches next week.

The app will feature only the new Pokémon from the Black and White versions, and will initially only come with 16 entries. To get additional entries, you'll have to scan QR codes (those black and white pixel codes usually scanned with smartphones), download them over WiFi, or swap data with friends.

You'll also be able to put Pokémon in pictures taken with the 3D camera. Remember our April Fools' article about being able to take pictures of Pokémon in your own backyard? Well, now you'll actually be able to do it!

This is very neat actually. The fact that it's going to be free is nice, but that they are actual 3-D models means that the 3DS could be able to support a Battle Revolution-styled pokemon game (Or better, an actual 3D thrid version for Black and White...)

Plus it's a smart move to get additional people into buying Black or White or anything else they may come up with. Free advertising, nuff said.

Coooool! Why is it eShop? I want to buy that application from a regular store. Hmmph! I guess I'll have to learn to use Wi-Fi now. I'm desperate.

IMHO a 3D Pokédex app is completely Pointless they just don't like the fact that fan sites have a better Pokédex then they do.
