View Full Version : That's Just the Way It Is: STARTS! ONE LSU LEFT!

Would you have seen it coming?

You're just... Yourself. That's what you did to deserve this. Be yourself. It's why the government is after you. It's why people hate you. It's why you feel like you can only connect to a few people, or Pokčmon. You're yourself, and can you change it? And is that why they hate you?

No.

Apparently, you're not yourself at all. And they can tell. What if somebody told you that you were not who you thought you were? What if you were a bit more magical than that? Unpredictable?

Powerful?

Here's the truth: Your powers have been awakened by a display at the museum. Something about legendary Pokčmon and harmony and islands and the destruction of the entire earth, if not for the legendary Pokčmon's sacrifices. It didn't concern you too much, but suddenly, you slowly find out something about yourself.

And not a moment too soon.

Those who caused the near destruction of the earth are called the Unowns. Weak, common, yes. Unpredictable, yes. That one trait changes everything. They are causing problems in the world again. They start out little. Tiny tremors every once in a while. A small flood every so often. Eventually, they get so big, they become out of control. And honestly, who better to halt the attacks of the unerrated, mysterious Pokčmon mischief makers than the reincarnations of the legendaries that sacrificed themselves oh-so-long-ago?

You up for it, legend?

LSU's, use the form below.

~ Sign-Up Form ~
Name: (Common Sense.)
Age: (At least older than 13.)
Gender: (Guy or girl?)
Personality: (Another common sense thing. What's your charrie like? Be specific!)
Description: (Your character's looks. Yet again, be specific.)
History: (Your past.)
Pokčmon Companion: (You're allowed up to three.)
Reincarnation of: (Has to be Regirock. He's the only one left. Gomen, LSU!)
Mutation: (Just a few small things. I don't want people with huge wings growing out of their backs. But they can have markings or something on their body. Eg- The Lugia can have spikes on their backs, since they can suppress them against their backs. You can even make yourself a bit paler, darker, higher body temperature, etc. But nothing too big. I will allow a tail, but it depends on the length of the tail.)
Power: (You get some skill with an element, or the ability to do something special, like run very fast or flight. Unlike reincarnated forms, since there are more than one elements of legendaries, as long as there aren't too many, we can have more than one flier or fire-shooter.)
Relationships: (A relationship is one of the most important things. It says who you trust the most.)
Other: (Yes, the dreaded 'Other' category. Did I miss something? Something you deem as important in the RPG?)

Regirock is the only guy left for the LSU.

Now, for my SU's.

~ SU 1 ~
Name: He's simply called X. Nothing more.
Age: Who knows? He looks around 23.
Gender: Male
Personality: He's very quick to jump off the gun if one crosses him. For the most part, he is very secretive, silent, and keeps to himself. He is very smart and skilled. He has known of his powers for the longest time, and he has even been able to handle them quite easily. He has been doing research for the longest time.
Description: He has long, silver hair and daring, emerald eyes. His silvery hair is pulled back mostly, except for two thin strands by his ears. He wears a black cloak, and a black hat. He has heavy black boots, which are probably the only thing you can see, save the cloak.
History: X was born by the Tohjo Falls. He became a traveller-type person, searching for himself, y'know. (And in the meantime, he found Ruth, Gladys... Nah, j/k. *just saw Chicago a few days ago...*) He came across the museum exhibit with the slate when he was about eight. Then, things got a little bit weirder for him. The mutations, for one thing. But, he's had a while to harbor his strange powers. He's even done research on the topic. He began working at the museum in that exhibit, but he quit when the exhibit was moved elsewhere, without his consent. X worked there so he can find others who were like him. Unfortunately, he found none at the one museum. Maybe he'll have better luck at the next? If he can find the slab, anyway...
Pokčmon Companion: Houndour, named Shade. Poochyena, named Kage. And a Sneasel, named Yami. (X is very fond of his dark types, cantcha tell?)
Reincarnation of: Mewtwo. (Haha! Stole a favorite! ^-^)
Mutation: He has much paler skin and a tail hides beneath his cloak. But he keeps it tied around his waist like a makeshift belt. He is also rumored to have the Mewtwo ears, but the hair kinda hides them.
Power: The ability to shoot the Shadow Ball, and teleportation.
Relationships: X is constantly teased by Azai Tritonia, and he tries sometimes to fight back.
Other: X is a very antisocial b--- (gets cut off). Anyway, X will watch over our young heroes, maybe even join them, as the RPG progresses.

~ SU 2~
Name: Enkou Wakamusha
Age: 19
Gender: Male
Personality: Enkou has a very fiery personality. He will not settle for anything less than the best. He is what some may call a perfectionist. If things go wrong, he curses the heavens and curses himself, and even curses others, who might've played a part. He's very relentless in his pursuits, and very aggressive, as well. And quite stubborn. Which is why he's a very good Rocketeer.
Description: He has bright red hair, scattered on his head as if his head had burst into flames. One might get the impression that he was burning up on the inside by one quick glance at his bright cobalt eyes. The very core of the flames is blue, after all. Enkou has very dark skin. He wears a black Team Rocket uniform, with the red R (naturally). His boots are unnaturally thick. (Just because I have a fetish for boots, so nyeh!)
History: His real name ISN'T Enkou. His real name is Daisuke Tokimora. But he changed it after a few months within his 17th year. When he was 17, he signed into Team Rocket's league. He was known for his ability to harness fire Pokčmon and his stubborness. He was a very good fighter, fist-wise, so he got the nickname Enkou Wakamusha. Enkou means 'flame', and Wakamusha means 'young warrior.' Eventually, the name stuck, and Daisuke changed his name to his nickname. Fun, no?
Pokčmon Companion: Growlithe, named Kaen (Kaen can also mean flame, and the Growlithe is a girl); Charmeleon, named Boukou (This Charmeleon has a blue flame, and Boukou is a combination of the Japanese words for 'blue' and 'flame'); and a Houndour named Genrou (Another combo name, meaning 'phantasm wolf')
Reincarnation of: Suicune (Believe me, Enkou was very much depressed when he found this out.)
Mutation: First off, he lost his hot red hair. It's turned purple, and a bit longer (no longer spiky, but silky). Then, his skin got lighter, and started picking up a blueish tinge, but you have to squint your eyes REALLY hard to notice the blue. Next, he grew strange, white, diamond-shaped patches on his arms. And one has to wonder where the two white ribbon-like things that sit at the side of Enkou's waist are...
Power: He became super-fast with the ability to make bubbles from his hand. If he concentrates hard enough, he can make a quick blast of water with the power of a super-soaker.
Relationships: He has a reluctant friendship with Renata Gentileschi.
Other: Enkou is miserable, even a month after finding out he was a Suicune reincarnation. It scared him. He's a flipping pyromaniac!

The bulk of this shall take place in Johto. The museum is located in Goldenrod City, somwehere by the northern side of the city.
And now, for the first post!

Enkou Wakamusha POV
So... It was in this museum, eh? A worthless sheet of rock that people from even Kanto and... that other region... are fawning over. This slab has even the infamous Professor Oak intrigued.

Which would make it a lot more fun for me to snatch.

I decided to leave without Renata, my partner-in-crime. I wanted sole credit for the snatching of this rare item. It wouldn't be too hard. Amazing, really. This city has some of the tightest security on the Gym, the Shop, and even some of the local residents' houses. Couldn't the city spring a little extra to protect the rock just a bit more? It'd make it a lot more interesting for me. The place was swarming with rare goods. Hn. I'll have to come back later and snatch a painting or two.

Finally, I found it. The room with the stupid rock in it. Naturally, it was behind a locked door. Using the tail flame of Boukou as a guide, I picked at the lock. Amazing. I heard the telltale click, knowing the lock was gone, and the only thing even remotely shocking me was a man in a black cloak, standing behind me.

"What do you wish to find behind those doors?" the man asked me.

I snorted. Wasn't it obvious? "The bathroom," I jested. "What do you think?" A thought occured to me. "Are you the main security here? If you are, Boukou will dispatch you easily. And I shall get away with the rock that has everybody excited." I turned around to work on the door.

"Will it really be like that?" replied the man, no emotion sounding in his voice.

Aggravated, I turned around. "Listen, you---"

Nobody. Maybe it was all in my head? I shrugged and opened the door.

Well, the rock was a lot bigger than I thought it was. I could see why people were fawning over it. There were a ton of strange carvings in it, almost like it was telling a story. It was about the size and shape of a tombstone, which got me really thinking. I scanned it once again. As I did, strange images flashed through my head. A big, yellow bird? A giant, white rat? A smaller white rat? A green bug thingy? What the---

Ice penetrated my veins, and I hollered in pain. I slumped to me knees, wrappnig my arms around my body. Boukou looked shocked. I felt his clawed hand on my back as everything faded into the darkness.

When I opened my eyes again, I was sitting by a dumpster. Maybe that stupic guy in the black cloak carried me out? I mentally cursed myself for passing out. I leaned against the wall and let my mind wander off.

What the hell is with that rock? I thought before I drifted off.

Shadow came to the exibit the next morning. Some girl whose name he had forgotten had asked him to come with her and his mother had thought it would be an "Excellent idea". Shadow twitched as he remembered those words. His mom knew that he preferred to be alone, why couldn't she respect his wishes for once? Shadow remained silent as his partner looked at the various pictures on the wall about the discovery of the slab and the words conveying the history behind it. Shadow, himself, was rather bored. He had already pulled out his Game Boy and was playing Golden Sun to pass the time.

A large crowd was gathered around the slab. A scientist that had worked at the ruins of Alph was giving a presentation to the many people who had shoved themselves into the room. The group of people was so thick, in fact, that Shadow had to give his date a boost onto his shoulders. This was no problem for him. He just continued playing. He payed no attention to what was said and the presentation seemed to go by in minutes because, soon, the room was pretty much empty and Shadow's date once again had both feet on the ground.

"Wow," She said, "That was actually quite fascinating." She took Shadow's sleeve and took him up to the panel. At this point, they were the only two people in the room, "I wonder what it says?" Shadow's date asked, gazing at the strange letters on the slab. Shadow happened to peek up from his Game Boy. However, the instant he did, he seemed captivated by the slab.

Putting two fingers to the glass that covered the slab, Shadow began to speak, "Our words shall remain here for the ages..." he said, "Thus, we shall erect a pokemon statue outside..."

"Shadow?..." his date asked nervously.

"They possess great insight and refuse the outside world..."

"Shadow...you're really starting to scare me..."

"We humans must learn to walk in harmony with them..."

"Sh...shadow?..."

"We leave for their sake..." At that point, a million things ran through Shadow's head. Pictures of creatures well-known and long gone...images of the strange pokemon known as Unown, and many other things that Shadow couldn't explain. He had a sudden migrane and grabbed the sides of his head.

"Shadow?!" Suddenly, the headache and the rush of conciousness ceased. Shadow rubbed his head and stood up. Shadow looked at his date, who appeared to be dumbfounded.

"What?" Shadow asked with slight impatience.

"Shadow?" his date asked, "Has your hair always been...blue?"

"Huh?"

Name: Rif

Age: 14, he's one of the youngest Legendaries, and probably the smallest.

Gender: M

Personality: Social, quick to jump into things. Hates bullies, and protects the younger street urchins. He even snitches candy for them, but only does so out of a sense of duty.

Description: Bright blonde hair, yellow shirt, kinda thin and small, Cutoff shorts. His hair is very short, except for a rattail in the back that goes down a little past his neck. His eyes are yellow, with a jagged green pupil. Probably needs glasses, but has no money for them, and is too proud to wear them even if he had some. This is a little of a barrier for him, because he never knows who he's fighting until some punches are delivered. He's 5'3.

History: A runaway, he makes his living by finding lost change. Not exactly a family guy. His parents were constantly arguing, so he pretty much left without any notice from his folks.

Pokčmon Companion: a Ninjask, Kroom.

Reincarnation of: Raikou

Mutation: Small fangs, lightning bolts on back, Raikou tail, Yellowish tint to body, purplish tint to cheeks. He says the fangs are fake, and hides his tail in his back pocket. It looks like he has a sky blue wire coming out of his shorts. He has taken the mutation very well, and has even begun to like his new look.

Power: When angry, whoever he's mad at will pass out for an hour. No, it's not a specifically Raikou ability, but it does come in handy. He is also somewhat faster than he should be.

Relationships: Trusts Kroom, with whom he has developed a telepathic bond. Is social, but has yet to develop any fondness for other humans. When he meets Enkou and Varda, he begins to feel a bond to them.(seeing as they're all the Legendary Dogs) Upon meeting Ami, and seeing her kindness, he decides to give humanity a second chance. He grows to like Ami, as a friend only. Not Boyfriend/Girlfriend friends. Just friends. They were the First two Legendaries to meet on friendly terms, and thusly are a little less freaked out to see the rest of the legendaries' mutations.

Other: Likes Carrots, and he has a seemingly magnetic attraction to power plants.

Rif was dissapointed. Apparently, the museum had either moved or gotten rid of the vending machines. They were always a good source of change. He noticed a crowd of people around something. He decided to investigate. Unfortunatly, the crowd was so thick that by the time he got to the center, everyone had left. At first, all he saw was a rock with some scribbles on it. But, when he got closer, it captivated him. Suddenly, the image of a Large dog, yellow in color and extremly fast, appeared. It howled, then ran off. Rif felt his skin, mouth, and back tingling. When it stopped, he looked in the glass surronding the slab. "My God!" he murmered. "I've got fangs!" He turned around. "And a tail to boot! These might come in handy...." For the moment, he decided to stuff his tail into his pocket. "What about the fangs?" He said. Well, he was always joking, so someone might think it was part of a joke. As he walked down the hallway, he looked in a mirror and noticed his skin had changed color. Not alot, but his cheeks had a purple tinge, and the rest of him was somewhat yellow. "Might as well check my back." He took off his shirt to reveal a pair of black lightning bolts on his spine. "Uh...... tatooes?" He realized it was going to be hard to return to life on the streets. As he hastily left the museum, he pondered his predicament. "Where can I go? There must be somewhere I can stay while I sort this out."

Opaque Onigoori: The fangs aren't that big, right? If they're really big, I'll have to ask you to either tone them down or get rid of them altogether. Sorry...

Ami Tari
~~~~~
I heard the wind chimes on my porch blowing in the wind as I rocked on the porch swing. I found it a beautiful melody but most people found it annoying. Like our new neighbours. I say new because we had just moved in yesterday and I deeply missed my old home. It had so many precious memories in it.
I sighed and went over to the large oak tree on our front lawn. Raiku was inside in my bedroom sleeping. I sat down and took my flute out of it's case. It had once belong to my grandmother and I loved to play it. My mom had no interest in it whatsoever. I'm surprised she kept it to give to me. My mom is like that. She never keeps anything that has no use to her or does not interest her.
I put it to my lips and began to play a tune I had played many times before. It calmed anyone who heard it but I could not remember where I had learnt it. I had no music at all like this in
my folder. I felt like I had learnt it a very long time ago, to a point where I could not remember wear I has first heard it.
"Aaaaaaaaaaaaamiiiiiiiiiiiii!"
"Oh greeeeat. Now what does she need?" I grumbled to myself as I put my flute down. "Yes?" I called back to my mom.
"Were going to the museum want to come?" she called from somewhere in the house. Most likely the kitchen. She loved to putter about in there. The museum sounded interesting to me
though. A way to pass the time.
"Sure! Coming!" I yelled back and I quickly put my flute away. My mom and dad came out of the house as I ran in. "I'll be back out in a second! Just putting my flute away!" I called as I ran up the stairs and put my flute on the shelf. I gave a quick pet to Riaku before running out the door.
I jumped into my mom's car and we drove to Goldenrod. We lived in the countryside to the north of it. It was only a half hour away though and we soon got to the museum.
We paid to get in and started to wonder around the museum. I had many neat artifacts and paintings in it. I especially liked the ones of the legendaries for some reason. We had been looking around for a while when I saw one of my few friends.
"Hey J.C.!" I called out and he turned looking to see who called his name. I ran over to him and I gave him a high five.
“How’s it going?” I asked my parents catching up.
“Not bad, kinda boring in here though. Too crowded. I wish they had some information on Ho-oh.” he said shrugging.
“Yeah well you can hope.” I said. He’d always been fascinated with Ho-oh. I wasn’t much interested but some of the books he had gotten on the subject were intriguing. I turned when
my parents tapped me on my shoulder.
“Hey what’s going on over there?” my dad said pointing to the crowd gathering around a man which looked about to give a speech.
“Come on, lets find out.” I sad quickly moving over and trying to get in front. “See you later J.C.!” I called to him as I walked into the increasing crowd. He yelled something back but I couldn’t hear him or even see him for that matter over the drone of the many people.
I got to the front of the crowd and turned to see what everyone was looking at. I saw a giant slab in a glass case. Immediately I was seemingly drawn to it. I pressed my hands onto the glass and I heard that tune I had played on my flute going over in my head. But it was . . . different. It sounded almost like a . . . whale somewhat. Many pictures ran through my head. I remember only a rainbow drifting from a red bird and three . . . dogs or cats I couldn’t tell running, running. I fell to my knees and saw someone fall to beside me. My head felt like it was going to explode. I clutched my head moaning in pain. The last image I remember was what looked to be a green firefly flying around. I fell to the floor and felt my dad pick me up and I
believe take me away.
I woke up in my room staring up to the ceiling. I felt a breeze and turned to see my window was open and it looked to be late in the afternoon. I saw Riaku on the end of my bed looking worried. I shook my head trying to remember what happened when to my shock a white hair fell into my vison.
“White hair!?!”
Rif:
Suddenly, Rif saw a man carrying a girl to a car. She looked like something cataclysmic had happened to her. She also had odd bumps under the back of her shirt. "Maybe something similiar happened to her," he thought. He decided to follow her and inquire. As the car started to leave, he found that he could keep pace! "Wow, this would've been a major advantage in street fights!" He followed the car to a house with an oak tree out front, and quickly climbed up the side of the house to where he thought the girl's room might be. He waited there for hours, trying to summon up the courage to go in the window. He had never spoken to a girl before. What if she thought him to be a freak, and called the police? Thusly, he decided to wait.
29th April 2003, 02:02 AM
Name: Azai Tritonia
Age: 18
Gender: Female
Personality: She can act rather immature for her age, but she just loves to joke around and have fun. She often playfully teases people, but if needed, she'll grow up, but she might complain about it afterwards. She's quite a nice person, really. She has a rather strange sense of humor along with a twisted mind, though, she randomly starts giggling just because a Pidgey flew by. Oo; She has very quick reflexes, though, and a sharp tongue, with an answer (usually sarcastic) for everything.
Description: She has dark blonde hair, and icy, almost clear blue eyes. Her skin is lightly tanned, and she's slightly tall for her age. She can usually be seen stalking around in dark blue trousers that bag slightly, and some t-shirt with some funny picture on it, or something, and brown work boot shoes. Yah.
History: ...Normal, quite strangely. She has a mom, a dad, and an older brother. Her dad was researcher on psychic pokemon, and stuff. He's also one of the funny scientist guys you see in the game in that lab near the Unown cave. Her brother's somewhere in Kanto training his Pokemon. He took her to a museum once, and all of the fun chaos sort of went from there. She originally had a splitting headache, then she just spaced out for a while, not really responding. She doesn't really remember much of it, though.
Pokčmon Companion: Envy, a Murkrow (M), Tsukikage (Tsuki) a Wishur (F) and Enrai a Jolteon (F).
Reincarnation of: Celebi
Mutation: Her hair seems to have a green tint to it. Her eyes are also a little bit wider than most people, and they're now a light blue color. She does have antennae (...), but she's gelled them down. She does sorta have dragonfly wings, but they're translucent, small, and hard to spot. Her nails and toenails are painted green, and it won't come off. --;
Power: She has very short visiony things. Like just seeing someone's feet, or a tail, or something. It's impossible for her to actually predict something.
Relationships: I dunno, wait till some sign ups. She likes to tease X, being the wondeful person that she is."X? Your name is X? What is this, a low budget sci-fi movie?!" And stuff like that. Oo;
Other: *pokes other* She can play the harp.
It had to of been quite along time ago, before my brother left.
"Come on, Azai!" He laughed, as I trailed behind him, not exactally wanting to go into a museum. Fun fun.
We eventually got into the museum, lots of the people staring at a slab of stone, that seemed to have alot of runes on it. I soon pushed myself to the front of the crowd, and pressed my hands on the glass, breathing faintly. The runes seemed to glow gold, and spoke to me in a language I somehow understood. My eyes widened, and everything was gold.
I clutched my head in pain, wincing. I fell to my knees, and was there for a few more minutes, and then the pain disappeared as quick as it had appeared.
"Az, what's the matter?" I remember him shaking my shoulder, after helping me up, and I turned around, my eyes now dull. I shook my head, and he decided to take me home.
When I had gotten home, Tsuki seemed stressed. I had just sat down on my bed, and stared ahead. She took some of her hair in her paw, then went over to my back, and chirpped worridley.
I can't remember when I snapped out of it, but everything seemed to snap into vision, clear as crystal. I got up to look in the mirror, and my eyes widened as I stared at what I hoped was me.
Name: Dan
Age: 21
Gender: Male
Personality: Dan doesn't really have any personality. Sure it sounds weird, but he's often quite emotionless. He never shows happiness, or excitment. If something good happens he just takes it in his stride. He never shows grief, or sadness. If smething bad happens, he deals with it. There was a time once when he did have a pesonality. He was fun to be around, a joker, with a large collection of friends. Outgoing, adventerous.. but things changed. Now he's just.. Cold. He may still find something funny, but he wont laugh. He's still got emotion inside him, but he just doesn't show it.
Description: Dan stands at about 6'1". He's got a pale complextion, white, almost like he's seen a ghost or is totally drained of health. His eyes shimmer a pale silvery color, and match his scruffy shoulder length hair, also silver, with streaks of blue tied in. He's usually seen waering plain grey combat trousers, full of pockets but never with anything in them, they cover black boots tied tightly with grey laces. He has a long sleeved light grey T-Shirt, and over that he wears a short sleeved dark grey shirt. Around his neck he wears a small pendant on a chain. The pendant is shaped like an triangle stone, and is silvery blue in colour.
History: Dan lived most of his early life as a typical young kid. OUtgoing, always getting into trouble. Fun, easy going, a great and exciting person. Then, after a trip to the Museum on his 16th birthday, and seeing a display of rare treaures and stories of legendary pokemon, he suddenly fell silent. No amount of medical care, talks with psychiatrists(sp?) or anything else could reach him in this new emotionless shell of his. It was as if he just froze up. MOst his friends abandoned him, as did most of his family. His parents tried their best to live with him as if nothing was different but they found it difficult.
Pokčmon Companion: Snorunt and Castform
Reincarnation of: Regice
Mutation: Not much of a visable change really. When stadning in a direct beam of light, Dan's skin seems to reflect and refract it slightly. Also he's cold to the touch. Not just "not warm". Cold, like he's been out in the snow for hours on end with little to no clothes on.
Power: Dan's breath is arctic cold. In large breaths it can cover most things with a layer of frost, and it can take small bodies of water (like a glass of water say) and freeze them completely. He can also lower the temperature around several degrees. People have often said, being around him was chilling, but it wasn't his lack of feelings that did that.
Relationships: Sky Redwig is one of the few people who has stayed a "friend" even after his total loss of emotion.
Other: Dan doesn't particularly like hot weather. As you can expect, if it's sunny, he'd prefer to stay indoors, or atleast in the shadows where it's cooler.
Sorry, don't have the time to post right now, but i'll just add this so i re ember to post here (the post icon gets that little black dot. Very useful)
Oh, and Kohdok: I'm assuming the girl wasn't me. 1) My character isn't that outgoing. 2) The girl you were with didn't seem to be affected by the rock.
Name: Kayla
Age: 15
Gender: F
Personality: She's really quiet and withdrawn from the world. Avoiding people is her specialty. She's mostly worried about getting hurt and betrayed by people if she gets too close. She doesn't get lonely very much, but will sometimes. She's antisocial, and can't seem to get over that no matter how hard she tries. She's very self-concious, and is always criticizing herself about one thing or another. As a result, she has very low self-esteem. Her natural reaction when faced with a tough situation or decision is to run from it. (NGE fans: think Shinji)
Description: She has red hair that she usually wears down, because it's less likely to mess up that way. It's halfway down her back, and very straight. She has sparse bangs covering her forehead, and a few medium-length strands she keeps tucked behind her ears. Her eyes are a strange whitish-bluish color, that seems to change between the two. Her skin is slightly tanned, but not so much as it's noticeable. She wears one of the black shirts without sleeves that shows her belly in an effort to gain popularity, but dislikes it enough that she keeps pulling it down to meet her jeans. Her jeans are a simple blue, nothing special.
History: She grew up as mostly a normal only child. Her parents never really payed much attention to her or her achievements, and never encouraged her much. When she got her Pokčmon, they became her only friends and the only ones she could trust with all her worries and axieties. If it weren't for their little, but encouraging, beliefe in her and her abilities, she probably would have taken her own life a while ago.
Pokčmon Companion: *trys to think up good ones* *can't think of enough* Espeon, Swablu
Reincarnation of: Latias
Mutation: She has a light red triangle on her forehead that's covered by her bangs. She also has another blue one on her belly that she tells other people is a tatoo. Also, she has two red streaks on her back where wings would come out, as well as small bumps there.
Power: She can jump a bit higher than normal and glide (somehow) short distances. Also, she can read minds, but it takes a lot of concetration and it wears her out.
Relationships: *searches for who's Latios to see if she can* Has a small crush on Shadow, but she's too antisocial to admit it or act on it, and of course, her Pokčmon.
Other: ... me thinks no...
A lot of people were coming out of that room. Gee, wonder why? Must have been a presentation or something. OK, so I'll check it later. I don't want to run into any big groups. I hate big groups. Oo, an exibit on ancient ruins? That lecture would probably be worth it... Too bad I don't like large groups. Ok, a few more people are leaving... Anyone left in there? No, ok, good. Now, what was so interesting?
I entered the room cautiously. Taking a final look around to check I was alone, I went up to what seemed to be the main display. It was... a rock. Yeah, with carvings, ancient weird carvings, but a rock. Wait a sec, rocks don't glow...
There was a flash, and suddenly I was surrounded by color. All I could see were blurs or colors. Red... purple... white... blue... All blended together in a weird mix. Geeze, this was giving me a seizure...
Rif:
Rif's stomach growled. "How long have I been up here?" he asked noone in particular. He decide to go into the house kitchen, get a carrot, and return to his post. As he was going to the back door, a Rapidash in the backyard started to charge him. "Stop!" he whispered. "I only want some food!"When the Rapidash continued, Rif became ready to bite it. But before it reached him, it fell down and started to snore. ".........." >_< He quickly picked the door's lock, slipped into the kitchen, and grabed three carrots. He then returned to his post by the window.
~~~~~

I just stared at my white hair for few more seconds. People's hair doesn't turn white in a day. I got up and saw I was changed into some black shorts and a light purple t-shirt.

"Ok what the heck happened?" I asked myself as I walked over to the mirror. Sure enough my hair was now all white. And my eyes PURPLE? I looked closer and saw something dark blue under my hair. I moved my hair out of the way and two long triangle like things suddenly stuck up.

I widened my eyes and in the reflection of the mirror I saw some guy sitting in my window. He had bright blond hair and a yellow shirt with cut off shorts. I wirled around and asked very quickly, "who are you? Do you know what happened and why are you sitting in my window?"

The guy looked shocked for a second at the rapid questions. I grabbed my bandana from my desk and pushed the wierd prong things down under it waiting for an answer.

Rif:

"Um, er, I'm Rif." He said. " Something happened to you? well, something happened to me. Does it involve a slab in a museum, changing colors, and growing new appendages? Like this tail, for insatance?" Rif pulled his tail out from his pocket. "I'm on your roof because it looked like something happened to you at the museum, so I followed you home." Rif cast his eyes down. "I don't have one." He noticed the weird triangles she was shoving into her bandana. "You MUST have seen the slab!" he gasped. "Those are definatly not human. Of course, I can't say fangs, tails, yellow and purple skin or black lightning bolts running down your back is natural, either." He pulled up the back of his shirt to reveal the two lightning bolts. "So...... what changes did you get?"

Ohh, the museum. Big whooptee friggen doo. Oh well, at least we got out of classes...
The bus pulled up in front of the museum. It was a long drive from Blackthorn, my home town. People trooped off the bus.
"OK people, listen up! We meet here at three and then we're going to check in at the Pokemon Center! No excuses! Stay out of trouble, and have fun!" called Mr. Kinsa, our history teacher. We were here on a week-long trip to visit the museum. Some big deal about how we were seniors and we had to see this rock. Whoo, yay, a rock... Unless you could smoke it, what's the big deal?
I pulled out my head phones and turned them up all the way. I walked through the museum with Enter Sandman by Metallica blaring. I got lots of ugly looks from the grandmas here. I was sorely tempted to flick them off too. If I was going to be here for five hours, I may as well take a look at this rock.
There were a few people looking at the rock and hauling. Wierdos, acting like it was some big deal or something. I finally got in to look at this piece of crap.
The Legendaries were all over the friggen place. I rolled my eyes. What was the big deal about that? Suddenly, my eyes landed on the form of Entei. It was by far the coolest, a fire type. I felt wierd though... my muscles began to ache. I ignored it; I hadn't put any mineral ice on them last night after lifting weights. It was my own damn fault.
Then something struck me. I could read the inscriptions on the rock! What was up with that?! I mean, I knew that scientists have been trying for ages to discipher the old texts, and here comes a high school senior who can read it? That was too wierd...
I backed away. I didn't like this thing. I was wiggen, and I knew it. I walked out of the gallery and into a hallway. I felt a hand on my shoulder.
"Hey, did you feel something too?" asked a boy who was in my class. He was older than me. He was a real senior; I'd skipped a grade so that I could graduate early. What was his name... Mike, I think...
"Yeah... wait, why are you asking me? Get the hell away from me before I kick you in the #)%&*!" I threw his hand off.
"Woah, chill out! Wait, were your eyes always orange like that?" He raised an eyebrow.
I looked into a display case nearby. Sure enough, orange eyes looked back at me.
"Piss off!" I yelled at him. I kicked him in the stomach. Suddenly, I wished I hadn't. My kick... it had more strenth then I ever thought it had. He was thrown back several feet. Luckily, no one else was around to see.
Should I say something? If so, what? For the first time in years, I felt ackward. I felt like a trapped animal... should I wiat to see if he was alright, or should I haul?
He got to his feet. "I'm OK... woah, you've got quite a kick there. But I'm OK..." He was confused, and so was I. What the hell was going on here?

Rif:

The girl looked amazed. Rif decide to give her a moment to get it together. He saw Raiku, and tried to pet him. In response, Raiku Thundered Rif. The funny thing was, Rif knew this was enough electricity to kill, but he barely felt a thing. "Woah.... doesn't seem to like me, does he?" The girl just shook her head. "Hey, I never caught your name. What is it?" "Ami.... Ami Tari...." "Ami. Hmm. Sounds familiar. Oh well. Can I hide here for a while? I think someone might notice these otherwise..." He bared his fangs. "Not exactly easy to hide, huh? So, what did you look like before.... the slab?" She handed him a picture. He whistled. "Big change. New hair color, prongs, and something on your back. Little much, eh? Well, I kinda like my new look. Sorta safer, and sorta not. Fangs come in handy, and so does a speed boost!" He quickly ran around the perimeter of her room, faster then anyone he knew could have. "Oi..... this makes me tired pretty quickly." He fell to the floor, snoring. Apparently the excitement of the day had taken it's toll.

Maybe we could make Ami's house the meeting place, since two of the Characters are already there.

While asleep, Rif had a dream. There were twenty-one beings of enormous power. They had to use the farthest extent of their powers to stop the forces swarming over the planet, but at a great price. The beings sacrificed their own lives to save the world. Then, eons later, They were reincarnated as 21 humans with great potential. The dream showed Rif himself and Ami, but 19 others he did not recognize. Some resembled birds. Others resembled cats, rats, dogs, and fairies. When he later awoke, he only remembered snatches of the dream.

O.O() Wow. Topic filled up fast, didn't it?

So, things were starting up once again. *They* would soon awaken within their present forms. Some already have. I am grateful for that.

However, I doubt that the humans will even remember who they were. Of course, they will remember in time, but how soon?

A flash of blue.

A streak of white.

A dash of purple.

I was floating in some stupid void thingy. It was... Very... Very... Strange. It was black, almost. Some purple.

Well, this thing kept running around me. It looked some some kinda dog. Some kinda stupid-looking, drug-induced illusion. I didn't really care, until the dog was gone.

Suddenly, the darkness seemed to only intensify. I could only see myself, enveloped in a sky blue light. I watched the void turn extremely freaky on me. A ton of huge, white eyes opened up suddenly, watching me. It seemed like the majority of the place was coated in these eyes. And then they started moving. Around me. Like the dog did, but this just seemed freaky.

And I was scared out of my wits. The eyes simply got closer and closer, and all I could do was scream bloody murder.

And wake up.

I held my head in pain. It was morning. Or afternoon. Ah, well. Must've been out for quite a while. Boukou jabbed me in the side, not looking amused. I turned to face him. My hair fell into my face. Annoyed, I pushed away the purple locks.

... Purple?!? What happened to red?

Of course, in the shadows, my arm looked almost blue. Almost. But what I definitely noticed about my arm was the ever-growing white patches. Some had formed themselves into the shape of diamonds.

Boukou blinked at me, very confused. I laid my hand on his head.

"Boukou, my boy," I said. "I'm just about as confused as you are."

Name: Kaia
Age: 16
Gender: Female
Personality: Quiet, shy, the whole loner deal. Yet she's a happy sort and takes things as they come. Her personality can be somewhat bi-polar though at times because she can be happy at one moment and then depressed the other. It rarely happens though and barely affects her and others around her at all. When she's angry though, people will pay if they piss her off in the process
Description: Normal height, around 5'3. She has a light tan but a muscular frame that's hidden, so she can kick someone's @$$ without them knowing. Her eyes are a steely blue/gray that can make people turn away and her hair is a chocolate brown that goes down to her chin and is somewhat rough. She dresses simple, a plain blue t-shirt, black windbreaker-type pants and sneakers. So she dresses somewhat like a tomboy
History: Grew up with her father after her mother died when she was young. Loves Pokemon and spends every moment with them. After her visit to the museum though, her dad sort of shunned her away, in the sense of not hugging or consoling her when she's depressed. She only spends time with her Pokemon now
Pokčmon Companion: Alakazam (Nightshade), Flygon (Tempest)
Reincarnation of: Zapdos
Mutation: Her hair is now streaked golden and is spiked at the edges and she has black lightning markings on her palms. Also, she has 2 slits in her back in which gold and black spiked wings can protrude at her will so she can fly as well as spikes that come out at intervals on her arms which she can also retract back into her skin if she wants
Power: Basically can fly, shoot off bolts of electricity (not very strong) and can cause thunderstorms when she's angry
Relationships: Not one to be put off by Varda's temper but Varda doesn't know that. She's also close with her Pokemon
Other: None

"I'm off to the museum dad!", I yelled to him upstairs as I walked out of the house.
"Ok, but don't stay out too late. It's fast food night tonight", he replied before I closed the door.
I laughed as I walked down the street. The museum was only a few blocks away and it was a nice day so I decided to walk, quite a rare thing for me to do since I usually just stay inside or ride my bike to anyplace. I felt a pang of guilt that Nightshade and Tempest couldn't come with me but Pokemon weren't allowed in the museum.

A few minutes later and I was inside, looking around at the familiar artifacts and ancient paintings as people roamed around. I spotted a group of school kids off in the far corner, ignoring the teachers and just horsing around. I sighed as I was glad I went to another school, a place where I could focus on my work. Nevertheless, I knew some of them from junior school, especially Varda. Her temper was known throughout the town and could be sprung at any given moment. While most were scared out of their wits, I just took her temper in good fun, which could or couldn't be a good thing to her. Turning my back on them, I saw a large mass of people slowly walking away from an ancient tablet, bits of it crumbled away from decay. At first glance, it didn't look any different from the tablets I've seen before but a strange power radiated from it that drew me forwards. Like in a trance, I strode over to the display case and pressed my face against it. Carvings of ancient wordings and pictures could be made out but not read. The thing that caught my eye though were the legendaries; it looked as if they were just chiseled into the rock. I sighed with pleasure as I layed my eyes upon Zapdos-the electric bird. Although I liked the other legendaries, Zapdos was by far my clear favorite. As I gazed a bit more, a strange yellow light emitted from the picture of Zapdos and shone in my face. Shielding my eyes, a sharp pain blazed through my body and I blacked out in an instance.

Birds chirped outside as I slowly opened my eyes. They were a bit fuzzy but soon cleared up quickly as I sat up. For some reason, I was back in my room. Looking around, I caught the glances of Tempest and Nightshade, who looked a bit freaked out.
"What's wrong you guys?", I asked, weirded out by their looks.
<Look at yourself in the mirror>, Nightshade replied quietly, quite unlike his usual joking self.
Making a face, I thought he was insulting me, until I glanced at myself. I gasped as my hair was now streaked blond and the edges of my hair were spiked. Touching them gingerly, I winced as they were deadly sharp. As I put my arms down, the fact that bird-like wings were protruding out of my back as well as spikes were sticking out of my arms and there were 2 black lightning marks on my palms. I moaned audibly as I reached back and caressed the leathery but spiky wings.
"Who's up there?", my dad asked.
"It's just me", I called out.
"How did you get back so fast?"
"There were too many people and I came back fast because you wanted me back early."
That seemed to satisfy him as there was no reply. I quickly shut the door and focused on my problem. The lightning marks and spiked hair were easy to hide as I could say that I was just being stupid and they would be around for a while but the spikes and wings were another matter.
"I guess this was how I got home", I muttered as I flapped the wings.
Wishing that they would just go away, I clenched my fists and tensed up my body. To my surprise, the spikes and wings were slowly starting to disappear. Turning around, I saw the wings, retract into my back through 2 slits in my shirt. I let out a breath of relief as I sat on my bed again, wondering how I could keep this secret from dad and who I could trust to tell.

OK, Opaque whatever, I'm posting on behalf of just about every RPGer I know.
This is a rather advanced RPG forum. If you haven't noticed, not everyone is expected to post after every new post. That would be impossible. If you want to post lots, post longer, more meaningful posts instead of crap that my little brother could hack out in a few minutes. Try to think things through before wasting board space like that.
Also, the fact that you didn't post your sign up, not to mention that you never put a heading at the top of your posts is pretty against board form. And you post in third person; some can get away with it, but for the most part it's pretty annoying.
And don't even think about PMingme about how I'm not a mod. I've modded on other boards, and I'm pretty sure that the mods here would agree with this. So don't waste your time or mine, OK?
Danke Shoen!

"Wow," Shadow said as he looked at his hair that used to be raven colored, but was now a bright shade of blue, "That IS wierd..." He was using his date's compact, one with a little mirror inside, to look at his hair. However, he still didn't seem to acknowledge the person he had been travelling with (WHAT was her name again?...damn...)

"Shadow?" She said. However, she had to clip the compact shut in order to finally get his attention, "Shadow," She said with a little aggrivation, "This isn't right, people's hair don't turn blue like that," she said, "It just isn't normal...Just by looking at a..." she suddenly realized that Shadow had disappeared, "A..." She was alone in the hall.

Shadow had returned to the room with the slab. He looked at the strange rock with its strange carvings. However, the carvings didn't seem so strange to him anymore. He could read them as well as he could read English. For once, Shadow was a little frightened. What had he done to this slab in the first place that made it give him un-natural, blue hair?

"Ugh..." Shadow then say that he wasn't alone, "C...could you get off of my back?" he heard a voice say. Shadow looked down to see that he was standing on someone, a girl with long, red hair. He had wondered why it seemed like he had shot up 8 inches in height...

Shadow stepped off of the girl, who coughed as she sat up.

"Wait..." Shadow said, "Don't I know you?"

"Huh?" The girl asked as she looked up at the face of the one who had been on top of her just moments ago, "Uh..."

"Aren't you Kayla?" Shadow asked.

"Y...yeah..." Kayla said nervously. However, much to her surprise, Shadow seemed to be inspecting her, walking around her slowly in a circle, checking here and there, but still keeping his distance, "Something wrong?" Kayla asked, turning a little red.

"I don't remember you getting any tatoos..." Shadow said, looking at Kayla's bellybutton.

"Huh?" Kayla said, looking down at her exposed belly. Her shirt must have returned to its place when she had fallen from the effects of the slab. She saw what appeared to be a blue triangular mark on her stomach, "Ah, that..." She said, "That...that's nothing at all," She said, slightly flustered. She pulled her shirt over her bellybutton once more, "Now where did THAT come from?..." she thought to herself. She turned around. "Oh man..." she thought, "How embarrasing...How could something like this happen to me?" She then realized something, "Wait a minute," She thought, "Shadow's hair isn't blue..." she turned back around, "Uh, Shadow?..."

Nobody was there. Shadow was already gone.

"Darn it..." Kayla said, "How does he do that?"

Name: Kyrahii Yarito
Age: 16
Gender: Female
Personality: She's rather bubbly, and is an extremely friendly person. She isn't very shy, and rather bold when it comes to meeting other people. Although she always seems pretty optimistic, she tends to hide her true feelings and doesn't show when she's sad. She also has a bad habit of always feeling guilty for stupid things, and she is easily taken advantage of because she can't say no to things. She cares a lot for people, and is extremely loyal to others and doesn't taken rejection of anysort really well. She's nice though and very sincere.
Description: I might change this and add a piccy later, but for now...
She stands about 5'8, with a tall, slim and athletic-toned build. Her complexion is smooth with a hint of a slight tan which compliments her startling, EXTREMELY icy violet and almost-glittering eyes. Her hair is a mixture of blondes with natural high lights of light strawberry blonde and golden blonde colors. Her hair is elegantly long, reaching about midway to her back, and it is straight as well, layered to frame the face yet she doesn't really have bangs although the hair towards her face is shorter than the hair in the back. She some times puts her hair up as well, although it is usually down. She usually wears light blue jean shorts which are cut off a bit, along with a light pink/violet fitted tank-top shirt with a logo saying, "Kawaii Express" in bubble blue lettering. She wears blue and white tennis shoes, much like the shoes in the characters from Sapphire/Ruby. Upon her wrist are a set of four silver loop bracelets, each one of them having a clear, icy blue jewel upon them in the shape of a star. Around her neck is a simple silver necklace as well, with a moon pendant upon it.
History: Her history is rather unknown. She just sorta popped up from no where. She can't remember where she is from, or who her parents are or anything like that. She doesn't remember. All she remembers is waking up one day along one of the beautiful beaches near the Museum, with nothing but her clothing or articles that she was wearing. She got to her feet, and began to exploring the area around there... and she easily made friends with fellow pokemon, and the town she was near began to talk about her. She was strange to them. She didn't have a home, so she slept in a tree fort she found one night... and that was where she lived- in a forest near the town with that museum. During the day sh ewould explore, and occasionally talk to the people in the town. They eventually gave her a name... Kyrahii Yarito, which means, " Fallen Star" when translated. (Yarito means Fallen, Kyrahii means Star.). She liked the sound of the name, she so responded to it. She often did little jobs for the people in the town as well. Whenever they would talk about how they needed their flowers tended, or anything she would do it with out any question. Eventually they found out it was her, and soon she found that some left her money. She didn't really want it... so she would give it to the children instead. So now the people in the town just give her food, which is all she accepts.

Pokčmon Companion: Mightyena (M)[ Nathe] , Umbreon (F) [Xaiac], Espeon (M) [Omoki]
Reincarnation of: Mew
Mutation: Her eyes are violet, which no human could possibly get, plus they seem to sparkle at times. She also has a tail, which is pretty long when fully extended but it is so small that she can wrap it tightly around her waist so it looks just like a belt and no one really notices. (Her tail is a light pink/violet color, so it matches her shirt.) She also has ears, but she hides them in her hair, pressed tightly against her skull.
Power: She has slight telepathic powers... but she cannot read minds or control people like that. She can just slightly raise objects and stuff along those lines- but nothing extreme. She can't whip objects about like their paper. She also has an acute sense of hearing and 'sense' (sort of like sensing auras and stuff.)
Relationships: She hasn't been 'here' for awhile, she only magically appeared about a year ago. She is friendly with the townspeople, but no one has really made a real attempt to be her friend. It makes her sort of sad in a way... but she doesn't show it. She would like to have close friends however.

“ Wow… that looks… just… amazing!” I giggled excitedly, my violet, swirling eyes glinting with some amazement as I approached the building labeled, ‘the museum’. Outside of the Museum, there was a large statue of some sort of pokemon… which I myself thought to be a work of art. How could they make such fabulous creations of art so detailed? I myself could never do THAT… it was just beautiful.
All I knew though, was that I wanted to get into the museum. When I was tending to the flowers in the nearbye flower shop- some thing I usually did for the flower lady who was ever so kind to me, she had been talking to a custumer about a new find that was at the museum. …
“What’s a museum?”
The lady looked at me in shock… but she laughed, as she handed me a beautiful, elegant white flower which smelled more sweet than honey itself. I sniffed it and almost purred as I grinned. The lady simply laughed..
“ You know, ever since you came to this town you’ve made everyone second guess themselves.”
I was confused… “Why is that?”
“ You don’t know anything about the human culture it seems, but yet you are dressed in normal clothing, look just like us and know the language. But if I didn’t know better, you seem like your almost… not from here, this world, but some where else simply because of you… well..”
My facial expression changed into confusion, but she sighed and shook her head.
“Never mind.”
Silence ensued… as I finally spoke again, after happily placing the white flower in a vase.
“What’s a museum?”
She laughed after that… and then began to tell me what a museum was, and then finally about how a new stone- some strange stone a scientist found, was added there and that tons of people were going to see it because it had rare encarvings upon it. It made me curious.
“Can I go?”
“Sure..” she replied, and before she turned around I had bounded out of the store heading towards the museum…

I didn’t know where the museum was, but I saw some cars driving in a line so I decided to follow the roads they took. I walked of course… but I found that it wasn’t nearly very far, and that I soon had arrived and saw that beautiful statue.
“Kyrahii Yarito! I didn’t expect to see you here… “
The lady at the counter said, and I smiled at her gleefully.
“ I want to see the stone!” The lady laughed, as she let me in and many people looked at me as I simply walked in, and many whispered about money or some thing like that. I felt a bit nervous… but walking around, I began my search to find this, ‘stone’. I searched all about…and saw many pictures of strange structures that I still was not too keen upon knowing, and there even were many beautiful pictures of art as well. Those captivated me… but then yet again, I remembered I had to keep moving to find the stone that everyone was looking at. Then I heard the mumurs, and twitching towards the right I saw a crowd around some strange pillar with a stone upon it..

I squealed with delight, as I quickly scampered over towards the stone and managed to sneakily push my way through the figures. Turning my eyes towards the stone and studying it carefully, I was fully amazed. The stone had strange, beautiful carvings upon it of many mysterious figures… some of them like birds, with massive wings to keep them a float and others were of dogs or cats… like my friends I knew, the pokemon. I was transfixed.. until suddenly a creature standing upon two legs, with a massive tail and a rather negative glare came into my view. I twitched my head to the side… some thing about that figure made me wonder… and it made me afraid but yet curious all the same. Gazing further, I then saw another figure next to tha tone… but this one was much smaller, more cat-like with a long, nimble tail. It’s eyes were cheery yet full of wisdom all the same and –
“Eee!” I suddenly jumped back, thrusting myself from the stone and through the crowd. My jerk was so abrupt that I caught many people off guard but I managed to shove myself from the stone. I sat behind the crowd now, but many people gazed at me and mumured… I was shaking…
Images of stars… the moon… and the sea… they swirled in my mind. Auras… so many auras of silver, gold, pink, rainbow… all the colors I could imagine were swirling inside my mind. Memories that I never knew came to me… but as soon as I tried to remember them further, they disappeared from my mind completely. My head hurt… it pounded, and I felt like letting out a wail or cry. My hands shook as tears flooded my eyes… many people gazed at me now, some asking if I was okay if I needed medical attention.

I got to my feet, almost staggering as I quickly darted away. I ran out of the museum… because I didn’t know all those people very well- most were from out of town. I wanted to flee… I didn’t know where to go except back to my tree. The tree where I lived… slept… and ate. Maybe there I would feel better?

Soon I had arrived at the tree, and I quickly scampered up into there- almost effortlessly which I thought was strange. As soon as I was on top of the tree, I sat upon one of the particularily large branches, where I breathed in and out rapidly… until slowly my head ache went away, and my heart stopped racing so much. That stone… it… it had hurt me. But now I felt better… better than… well, I could remember.

The stars… the moon… the sea- I remembered those images vividly, but when I saw those images it was like I was in the sky. How could that be? Why… why did I remember that stuff while I was gazing at the stone?
“ I’m confused.” I stated outloud to myself, as I wrapped my long, slender tail around my waist. Then I stopped. A tail?!
“What?!” I thought or rather stated outloud, as I quickly unwrapped this tail… and saw that it was a light, violet-pink color, the color matching my shirt. It was very slender and long, and it reminded me fondly of a cat. I was startled…. How did I have a tail? But then I suddenly realized some thing..
I felt like my ears were bigger…

I scrambled out of the tree with a simple, graceful leap out of it and quickly landed upon the ground. There was a small, fresh running river not too far away, which I could go to, to see my reflection. Running there with great speed I felt my heart beating faster… until I came to the river’s edge.
Wading into it only slightly, after taking off my shoes and letting the water come up to my ankles, I gazed at the crystal-clear water. There I saw my reflection…
I had ears… they were fuzzy and cat-like, and they matched the color of my tail. I flattened them instantly to show I was frightened and rather startled, as I saw that my eyes were also strikingly different. They were glistening, almost constantly seeming to move in color- swirling with the mixtures of an icy violet and glittering silver. I grabbed some water in my gentle hands and splashed my face, but as the dripping icy water dribbled down my chin, I saw I was not dreaming. I had changed….

I took a few steps back, and walked out of the stream. Sighing, I collapsed at the water’s edge and sat next to my shoes, outstretching my legs and letting my tail stretch out and gently dip slightly into the water. I then lied upon my back and stared at the cloudy sky. I had changed abruptly into some thing I did not know… how? Why? I didn’t know tha teither… but I knew it had to do with that stone. The changes happened almost immediately after that… it had to be the stone. But… why again? I was trying so hard to fit in… and now I was even more different than they said I was before. How would I remain with them after this? I didn’t want to lose my friends if they would hurt me because of this…
Maybe they wouldn’t care- maybe they would like me still… maybe they’d except me. Yeah, they’re nice enough… they wouldn’t care… they’re my friends…
I smiled as I closed my eyes softly, to take a short nap…

The humans would still care for me …

"Sure," I had said. How could a word like that, a syllable like that, be so regrettable later on? Amazing how the little things work. Yesterday, Yushi (Keidoyushi, but that gets annoying to say) had called, talking about this new exhibit that was going to be on display for the first time the next day at the museum. She had expressed her excitement greatly, then asked if I wanted to go with her.

Of course, this is when I said the regrettable, "Sure."

So of course I was woken up at 8:37 AM by rocks hitting my bedroom window. Yushi was throwing them, telling me to get up or we'd never see the exhibit.

"But Yushi," I called down, stifling a yawn, "the museum doesn't open until nine, and it stays open past five." I yawned again.

"But I wanna be the first ones there!" she insisted.

This is when I started wishing I had never said 'sure' the day before. "Okay, hold on…I'll be down in a few minutes…" I closed my window again, got dressed quickly in a red T-shirt and dark baggy blue jeans, grabbed my red-framed sunglasses and white sneakers, and rushed down as quietly as I could to the kitchen.

Dear Mom/Dad,
Gone out to museum, hope to be back by noon.
--Maiku

I left the note on the table, got my sneakers on, and aimed for the door. I rushed out, nearly running into Yushi. "Whoops, sorry," I said, barely stopping in time.

"Come on, let's go," she said, picking up her bike from the grass. I grabbed mine from the side of the house and soon we were headed in the direction of the museum. It took us only a few minutes to get there, and we parked our bikes in the rack before heading to the door.

"8:57, and nobody else here," I said, checking my watch. We waited the three minutes for the museum opened, and just as the doors opened, I could see other people starting to flock to the museum.

"Hurry, I want to see the exhibit before they get to it." Yushi was tugging my arm, hurrying along where the signs told us to go. Without any warning, we were there. Yushi finally let go of my arm, and we slowly made our way to the slab.

"Hm, it looks cool," I said, looking at the runes. They were set hard, and the light seemed to make them glow. Wait a minute, they were glowing. A bright flash blinded me, and I fell, eyes closed. I had a vision of a bunch of animal-ish things, all running around. Weird birds, weird dogs, weird cats, weird rocks. I focused on something that looked like a red, deformed T-Rex. Then I woke up.

"Ergh," I mumbled. I squinted, noticing my sunglasses were off, but seeing nobody else in the room but Yushi. By the sound of it, though, a large crowd was making its way towards us. I looked at the slab from my position on the ground, but it looked like an ordinary rock now. I grabbed my sunglasses and shoved them on top of my head.

"Yushi, you alright?" I asked, getting up and going over to her. That's when I noticed red lines on her hands. 'She didn't have those earlier,' I thought to myself. Her eyes opened, and I nearly screamed. Instead of her normal blue eyes on white, they were yellow on black.

I reached down to help her up, but I noticed something else. My arm was slightly redder, and it had a pattern of black lines on it. Yushi looked up, and her creepy black-and-yellow eyes widened. "Maiku, y-your eyes!" she stammered. "Th-they're different!" I had a gut feeling they were just like hers. I helped her onto a bench.

"Yours too," I said softly. "And your hands," I pointed them out, "and my arms," I indicated them as well.

She just looked plain scared. "Maiku," she whispered, "what happened?"

"I don't know," I said, "but I think we'd better get out of here, before anyone notices." Quickly we headed towards the other direction of the voices. We found the entrance, and when we saw nobody coming in, we made a dash outside.

We grabbed our bikes and pedaled as fast as we could away from the museum. We reached my house in half the time it had taken to get to the museum. Panting, we collapsed behind the house, hopefully out of sight from anyone who might notice.

"What happened?" Yushi repeated from her face-down position in the grass.

"I don't know, Yushi," I answered again. "I really don't know…"

Rif:

When I woke up, Ami was gone. I must have been out of it for only a few minutes. beside me was a small bag of carrots. I picked it up, and told Raiku to tell Ami that I had left. (I wrote a note, just in case.) I left through the window, deciding to lounge about the museum a bit, and examaine the slab again. But first, I decide to cool off. I made a beeline for the stream near the museum, and as soon as I saw the water, I jumped right in. It was so refreshing, I decided to try to paddle upstream. I had been trying all my life, with no luck. Today was special. Now I felt like I could do anything. I tried, and actually started going upstream! After 15 minutes or so, I saw a bed of reeds, and decided to take a nap in the middle of them. "Just a little snooze..." I thought as I drifted off in the middle of the fluffy plants.

He's now sleeping in a bed of reeds nearby, dreaming of carrots.

Shadow- Latios incarnation
* * * * *

Shadow had already left the museum. He was standing just outside the entrance. For once, Shadow was actually taking notice to the world. He saw some other people, like him, who also seemed panicked about something. Many of them were leaving the museum with due haste.

"Shadow!" Shadow turned around to see his date running up to him. "Why did you leave me behind like that?" She asked once she had reached him at the end of the slab that formed the entrance to the museum. She put her hands on her knees to support herself, panting heavily.

"Who are you again?" Shadow asked. His date facefaulted.

"I'm Maku!" she yelled, "Ma-KU! Haven't you gotten that into your brain YET?!"

"I guess not..." Shadow said, once again turned away from the girl he was travelling with and looking out at the various people that were leaving. One, a girl in a light pinkish lavender shirt, seemed to have a set destination as she was running in a straight line. Shadow didn't know why, but he could tell that something had happened to that girl, too, "She might have the answers I'm looking for," Shadow thought to himself. Shadow felt that he needed to catch up with her, fast.

"Uh...Shadow?" Maku asked.

"What now?" Shadow replied, aggrivated. He turned to see Maku rather spooked about something.

"Y...Y...you just sprouted wings..." Maku replied.

"Huh?" Shadow asked, raiing an eyebrow. He reached behind his back. He found that Maku was right. In his hand, he held a wing what he couldn't tell whether it was feathery or furry. Bending the wing around, he saw that it was quite sleek in shape and was blue, just like his hair. "Okay..." Shadow said, "Now THIS is wierd." Without another thought, Shadow dashed with all his speed after the girl.

* * * * *

"Just where does this girl LIVE?!" Shadow asked himself as he continued the pursuit into the forest. However, before his eyes, the girl jumped from the ground and up into a tree, one with an old, slightly rotted tree house. Even Shadow slightly felt for the girl. Maybe that, along with the fact that the girl seemed to have discovered that she now had a tail, as she was fidgiting with it as she sat on a limb of the tree. In fact, she seemed so mezmerized by it, that she didn't notice that Shadow was even there. Even when she went over to a nearby stream, Shadow remained un-noticed. She then sighed and lay down on the grass, smiling slightly as she looked up at the clouds.

She didn't seem to notice Shadow's footsteps as he approached. However, when Shadow's form loomed over her, casting a shadow over her closed eyes, she knew that she wasn't alone.

"Hey," Shadow said, obvious aggrivation in his tone. The girl's eyes slowly opened to meet Shadow's annoyed expression. In fact, the girl seemed so shocked by his sudden approach that the hair on her tail (?) stood straight up.

"Wh...where did YOU come from?" She asked, shocked. She sat up in the grass as she said this.

"People say I have a way of coming out of nowhere and going back there just as quickly." Shadow replied. It was one of the few phrases Shadow had remembered, "You saw 'the slab', didn't you?"

"How did you know that?" The girl (Obviously Kyrahii (S'okay if I call her "Kyra"?)) replied. Shadow, not changing his expression at all, turned around and put his thumb over his shoulder, pointing to his wings, "Oh," Kyra said, "You changed, too?"

"Yeah," Shadow said, "And I'm looking for answers," He took Kyra by the shoulders and lifted her from where she was sitting and up into the air, "You wouldn't happen to know anything, would you?" he said in more of an accusation than a question.

"Wh...what are you talking about?" Kyra replied, "Do museums do this to people, or something?"

Shadow sweatdropped, "You really don't know anything, do you?" Kyra didn't respond. Shadow had no choice but to set her down again. He sighed, "And here I was hoping..." However, in his more depressed state, he felt his wings pull themselves back into his body, metabolizing back from where they came, leaving a pair of blue marks on the tears in his shirt.

"Uh, I'm Kyrahii," Kyra said out of the blue, "Pleased to meet you." She extended her hand. she had seen many people do this when they met each other for the first time. Shadow turned and glanced at it, before turning back around, not giving Kyrahii a handshake or even coming close.

"Shadow..." Shadow said.

"Shadow, eh?" Kyra said, putting her hand back down, "Well, It's nice to meet you, Shadow."

"Yeah..." Shadow said, walking away.

"Where are you going?" Kyra asked, a little sad.

"I'm going home," Shadow replied, "If you know what's good for you, you'll go home, too."

"But...this IS my home..." Kyra said. Shadow whirled around. He glanced at Kyra, then at the tree house, then at kyra, then at the tree house once more. He saw part of a shingle fall from it.

So, she was an orphan, or so it seemed, and she was homeless. Fending all for herself? it just wasn't right. Shadow took another look at Kyra. He was the only one here. Many things were rushing through his head. He was right there, he knew that his house had an old guest room....

And he figured that if he didn't offer this girl a place to stay, that he'd probably feel a little guilty about it later...

(Okay, Bul4, your move!)

Description: He stands about 5'10, with a solid build. He has a small amount of muscle, but not nearly as much as Varda.
History: He has known Varda almost all her life, although never really been her friend, but since he's known her(8) all he can remember is how she was always in the gym, working out...He lives with his mother, and hates every minute of it...
Pokčmon Companion: Metagross, Zangoose, Makuhita

Mutation: He is incredibly hard skinned, and his strength has increased(again, not as strong as Varda. He can lift about 300lbs now) and if he tenses his body, he can take anything from a knife or a hammer(no tensing) to a missile(fully tensed, bracing, and positioned for a blow). He is also immune to the effects of radiation

I winced a bit...but it barely even tingled. I looked at that text, and I had fully understood it. Now, I got kicked by the strongest girl in the school...hell, Strongest girl in TOWN!!(She recently beat our gym teacher in armwrestling!) And she took Tae Kwan Do...yet my innards had not been torn to shreds by her powerful kick. I stood up and looked over the Registeel statue and sighed.
"What the hell is going on..."
I looked down and sighed, as I stepped outside and began walking home alone.
"Mike...wait up...I didn't mean to kick you so hard..."It was Varda, she must have still been staring in awe at what she had done when I left.
"Hmm? It's ok..."
She pulled her jacket on, pulling it over her strong, yet feminine shoulders. A slight tearing sound was heard from her jacket. She blushed a deep red, and looked it over.
"What the hell...how did I tear it?"She said, inspecting a small tear in the leather jacket, starting at the base.
"I'm not THAT strong...Or THAT buff..."
"I beg to differ,"I smirked.
She laughed a bit,"Oh yeah, I'm the freakin' hulk to you, aren't I?"she laughed a bit, and flexed, her muscles seeming a bit bigger than normal. I shrugged it off, guessing she had been working out before she came to school...She laughed and pulled the coat on gently as we walked back to my house.
"You're comin' to my house?"
She stopped.
"No!! You self-centered ***, I just didn't want you to sue!!"
She harumphed and stomped off in the opposite direction...which was odd, we were neighbors...

{Patience, Onigoori. It's only been one post since you've announced your char. fell asleep in the flowers. Somebody'll be bound to notice eventually.}

~ X POV ~
I stared up at the slab again. The carving seemed to become a bit more alive. Certain forms seemed deeper inset, such as Raikou, Mewtwo, Mew, and others. I smirked. It was a sign they were all coming to. Eventually... Give it a bit more time, and the rest of the legendaries should come to. Ancient magic is binded in this centuries-old story. The teens *would* eventually remember, without having to stare at the tombstone, but this speeded the process up.

I heard a low hum, different from the hum of the crowd. The crowd moved much like a river: fast, ignorant, and constantly changing. It was almost funny how these people spent so much time talking about this thing, but can only spare it a passing glance when they finally get the chance to see it.

I was jerked out of my thoughts suddenly. There was a low cackling sound, somewhere in the crowd. I turned my head slightly, expecting to see another teen, whether or not they were one of the legendaries.

Instead, I saw a flash of black and white. Then it disappeared.

I blinked. For the first time in the longest time, I had been worried. Were they...?

... No. It was too soon.

Making sure nobody was around before I did so, I teleported from the museum exhibit.

~ Enkou Wakamusha POV ~
I stared at the water in disdain. I had lost my red spiky hair. I had lost my tanned skin. I had gained these freaky-a$$ed diamond shapes on my arms. And my Pokčmon were shooting me some of the weirdest looks they could manage.

Life is gooood...

I stood up angrily, swiping at my reflecting in the stream. "This is impossible!" I insisted to my Pokčmon. "This happened because I tried to steal a rock? Impossible. IMPOSSIBLE!"

Kaen stared up at me, confusion held in her amber eyes. "Don't give me that look," I frowned. "You know I have no idea what happened." I turned to Boukou. "Did you see what happened, boy?"

My Charmeleon shook his head. I groaned and slumped to the ground, next to Genrou. "What should I do, Gen-chan?" I jumped up suddenly. "I know!" I rubbed my hands together schemishly. "It was that guy in black, wasn't it? He must've poisoned me and made me delusional! I'll force the antidote out of him. I'll make him change me back!"

Kaen gave me another look, one that said this time, "You're already delusional, Sempai."

"Don't give me that look!" I ordered, pointing at Kaen angrily. "It was that guy in the cloak, wasn't it? I'll kill him for this! I'll kill him! I'll kill him! I'll---"

My cell phone rang. I took it out and turned it on. "Y'ello?"

"Enkou Wakamusha," growled the voice of the executive I worked under on the phone. "Get back to the hideout immediately. You have been out for more than a day now. You need not be out for much longer, dunce."

I growled back in reply. Stupid 'Dunce' comment... "Fine. I'm coming. Just don't chew me out when I get there, all right?"

*Click.*

I hung up and started to walk to the hideout. As I did, I noticed a strange-looking boy resting in a bunch of flowers. I tsked and shook my head. Crazy drunks...

After called back Genrou, Boukou, and Kaen, I hurried off to the hideout.

------------
Still sitting down, I gazed down at my lightning marks and wondered why this happened to me. I was a normal person with a regular life until I saw that slab. I mean, I could fly now and injure people with my arms but why would I want to?
"This is all just screwed up", I muttered and stood up.
Deciding to look at my wings again, I thought about them coming out and sure enough they did, slowly sliding out and unfolding. They weren't that big, only a 4 foot wingspan on each wing but they looked pretty cool, all spiky and yellow with black dagger streaks. Flapping them slowly, I started to rise up into the air, feeling a bit better as I hovered in mid-place.
"I guess this is how I got home so fast", I giggled and slowly flew around the room.
Happy that I was feeling much better, Tempest and Nightshade joined me up in the air, flying right behind me as we circled the room endlessly. Suddenly, the door opened and dad peered in to see me in mid-flight, with wings on my back. Glancing at him, I flushed and quietly landed, with my Pokemon floating in silence. Standing dumbfounded, he stared at my wings for the longest time.
"What the hell is going on?", he asked quietly.
"I got these when I went to the museum, I swear!", I cried.
"The museum? How in the world can you get wings and fly around from just going to the museum?!", he stuttered, flustered at my latest aquirements.
"I got them while looking at an ancient slab of rock with weird writing on it. My hair changed also and I got tattos on my palms as well as spikes."
I showed him the spikes but as they grew out of my arms, he started to back away from me.
"This can't be happening. What did I do to deserve this?", he choked and ran away from the room.
Tearing up, I cried as I felt worthless and alone for the first time in my life. Shrinking back the spikes, I climbed out of the window and dropped to the ground. Only the wings saved my life as I was lifted into the air. Flying high above to get away from everything, I headed to the park with my Pokemon in tow without me knowing.

Kayla

So, first Shadow changes too, then he disappears! What the heck is going on?
I took another look at the "tattoo" on my belly. Where the hell had that come from? What was wrong with me? Geeze... Maybe I should whack my head on the wall a few times, pass out, and wake up when this is all over. No, wait, I tried that last time. Didn't work.
Well, I could at least take a walk. Those usually calmed me down.
So, I began walking, to try and think over everything. Realizing that didn't work, and only made my head hurt, I changed to enjoying the scenery. It was amazing, how beautiful nature was. Next to me was a stream with a few fish swimming in it. Carefully, I bent down and took a sip. It was pure, clean. That was how I liked it. Humans were ruining the land, and not realizing it. That was too bad, all this nature would be lost.
"AAH!" Oblivious nature lover trips over rock and falls into river. Yup, that about described my situation, unless you count the fact that I was FLOATING IN MID-AIR! How the heck did that happen? I was just kinda hovering a few feet off the bank. OK, now, if things were ever not, it was getting freaky. Somehow managing to figure out how to move, I landed back where I fell.
A rustle immediately got my attention. I turned to see someone sitting in reeds, rubbing his eyes.
"Hey... who screamed? Where did all the carrots go?" Insert anime facevault.

I rubbed my eyes and yawned. What was it that had awoken me? Oh yeah, someone had screamed. As I sat up, I muttered, "Hey... who screamed? Where did all the carrots go?" I realized the carrots must have floated downstream. "A well," I thought. "I can go and fish 'em out or something later. Then I remebered the scream, and turned around. I noticed a girl with a weird tatoo on her stomach who was gawking at me. I quickly tried to cover up my fangs, but she had already seen them. I was grateful she hadn't seen my tail, when suddenly it bounced out of my pocket. I decided it was futile. "Sorry. I'm Rif. You are.....?"

I stormed back into the base. Where is it? Can't say. Security reasons.

"Hold it right there, you!" barked a voice. Oh, great. Yoh-sempai, the supervisor. "What the hell are you doing down here?!?"

I stared at my clothes. Fun! I wasn't in my Rocket Uniform. And my hair had changed. I held up my hands in shock and pulled out my Pokčdex.

"My name is Enkou Wakamusha," I declared, showing my picture inside. "When I started training, I collected five badges before I joined Team Rocket. My Pokčmon consist of a male Houndour, a male Charmeleon, and a female Growlithe, named Genrou, Boukou, and Kaen, respectively. Age 17. Mother's maiden name was Shinomoto. When I was five, I got my head stuck in the doggie door at my grandpa's vacation home. I have a chroni---"

"Enkou?!?" gasped Yoh. "What did you do to your hair?!?"

"New disguise," I shrugged nonchalantly.

"How'd you get your skin lighter?"

"Your guess is as good as mine," I answered truthfully. "I got called back by my executive. Is she in?"

"She's dealing with a call from the head Executive," Yoh answered. "It could take a while."

"Figures..."

"Enkou-san!" cried a voice. I rolled my eyes. Jyou. "Enkou-san!" Stupid Scientist. "Enkou-san, I need you to test something for me!"

"What?!?" I snapped.

"It's a DNA testing machine, like the ones in the crime labs!" Jyou smiled, coming into view. "I need a sample of your hair to make sure the DNA thing works." He frowned. "You died your hair?"

"Yeah," I shrugged. "My mug's up at the Post Office, so why not."

"Oh, well. Give me a piece of hair?"

I grumbled and pulled out a few strands of hair for him. "Here," I said, passing the hair to him. "Go to town. But why not use your own hair?"

"Couldn't pass up the chance to say hi," Jyou smiled. "Plus, it's fun to bug you."

I would've sent a flying punch into Jyou's face. The main executive finally got off the phone. She sent me a glare that basically said, "You!"

"Hi," I nodded. "You wanted to see me?"

"My office," she growled. "Now."

Ok, so he didn't know what had happened. I would have been a little freaked out if he had, really. I sat up Indian-style, staring at the markings taht now adorned the back of my hand. What had happened?

Ok, so I had been in the museum, looking at that new exhibit. I had seen some strange Pokemon, and then whited out. When I woke up, I was like this, and so was Maiku...

So, now what?

The question boomed through my head.I sighed, rubbing my temples.

I gazed at Shadow... it was a funny name, yet it seemed to match him too. I liked that name actually... it rolled off my tongue nicely and it felt good to say.
"Shadow!" I said laughing, as he gazed at me... he seemed to be debating some thing as his hair blew in the wind. He was going to leave... that made me a bit sad. I didn't really get to know people extremely close... or closer than casual aquantance-friends. But he was thinking... until suddenly he spoke.
" Come with me - I have a place you can sleep or stay for a while."
My eyes widened with that, as t hey glistened with a sparkling violet-like shimmer. A place to sleep?
"But I have my tree!" I said, smiling as I got to my feet and perked my ears foreward.
He looked rather ampethetic, as he shook his head.
" But you can sleep in a bed... and stay inside- wouldn't that be nicer?" His tone was a bit annoyed, as he shrugged.
"If you don't want to come, then don't."
He then turned around and began to walk away... but he fasinated me. He acted stranger than the others, and his blue hair was quite dazzling as it rippled in the slight wind. I smiled as I thought of the idea ofa bed... I wondered what that felt like? A bed was what a human slept on... maybe if I got one, it would make me more like everyone else. Or maybe if I tried it...
I quickly ran up to Shadow and playfully poked him gently in the shoulder.
" I'll come." My tail flickered all about, as I smiled radiantly. This was going to be fun! he nodded slowly as he walked... and I suddenly spoke outloud.
" I've never gone to some one else's home before... "

Where was I going?! I didn't know. Anywhere but home. I found myself walking down Main Street towards the department store. I figured I may as well go look around. I let Spinn out of his Pokeball.
"Flare!" he growled as he popped out. He bared his teeth at a passing woman and her Snubbul. The pathetic thing scurried away. He sat down and looked up at me, his spike collar glistening coldly in the sun.
"What do you want?" I asked him. He looked back at me. "Eon, flare flare!" he cried.
"Yeah, I know... my eyes. Don't ask, I don't know any more than you."
Spinn shrugged and walked along side me to the store.
When we arrived, I trooped up to the roof level to see what was on sale. A few things... I bought an ultra ball in case I ran into any fire types, and a potion.
I paid for my things and trooped back home. When I walked in the door, I saw my self in the mirror...
"Holy sh**! What the fu**!" I screamed. My hair... my beautiful hair... it was turning orange. Starting at the roots... I could almost see it spreading. Someone ran up the sidewalk to my door. It was Mike.
"What the hell do you want?!" I yelled at him.
"I wanted to make sure you were OK... what the hell's with your hair?!"
"You fu**ing tell me!" I turned back to the mirror. The black was almost gone. I held my hair up and looked at it. I couldn't believe it. This was too much... my hair... First my eyes, now my hair...
Mike began to walk up the stairs. Spinn barked and growled at him. I didn't say anything.

We sat there, who knows how long, just studying our new "patterns" and wondering what to do. After a while I realized that sitting here wasn't going to get us anywhere, so I started climbing up the outside of my house towards my window (the outside of my house was slanted out strips, so I had easy gripping). I practically rolled into my room.

Quickly I found my bag, a red long-sleeve shirt, my black baseball gloves, and put it all on. I also grabbed my Pokéballs, which I had forgotten earlier. I was about to jump out my window again when I realized that Yushi would proabably want something to hide her abnormalties. Fortunately, she only had it on her hands and in her eyes, so I could get away with getting her an old pair of baseball gloves and one of my other pairs of sunglasses.

Silently, I snuck out my window again, latching onto the side strips, and closed my door. I made my way down and handed her the gloves and sunglasses. "They're not the best," I said as she put them on, "but I hope they'll do." I picked up my bike again, and Yushi did the same after the gloves were on.

"Maiku," Yushi said as we started on our bikes again, "what are we gonna do?"

"I don't know, really," I responded, "but I think we should take another look at that slab. Maybe there's something on it that can tell us, although I seriously doubt it. Still," I continued, "I don't have any better ideas."

Shadow stared at Kyra's smiling face for a while. He had never met anyone so forward, and so ignorant, in his life. This girl seemed to overflow with enthusiasm, something that could be shownby the way her tail moved itself curiously and seemed to be doing so on its own.

It made him sick...Why he had offered a room to this girl was unknown to him. But, something about her, something that he felt in her presence seemed strange to him.

Love? Probably not. The feeling made Shadow feel chilled and comforted at the same time, like a good friend might make someone feel.

"Oh well," he thought, "Since I've offered her a place to stay, I guess I can't refuse."

"Okay," he said, "Do you have anything that you want to bring with you?"

"Not that I can think of..." Kyra responded.

"Wait a sec," Shadow said, turning around to face Kyra.

"Hmm?"

"Don't you think you'll stand out a little?"

"What do you mean?" Kyra asked innocently.

"You have large ears and a tail," Shadow said, "You'll probably get stared at."

"Huh?" Kyra said, fidgiting with her tail, "I don't think they'd care, THAT mu-"

"Fine," Shadow interrupted, reaching into hsi backpack, "You'll just need to show them your new 'features' with more finesse," he pulled out a baseball cap, a blue one. This, he placed snugly over Kyra's head, "Just wear that until we get to my place."

Kyra removed the cap, then placed it more lightly on her head, the brim on the cap covering her neck. She then smiled once more once she had gotten the cap on more comfortably.

"You think you could do something about the tail?" Shadow said, pointing at Kyra's twitching appendage.

"Uh..." Kyra said, taking the end of her tail. she stared at the pink thing for a few seconds before getting an idea. She remembered how she'd had her tail before, and, without her hands, wrapped it firmly around her waist, camoflauging it with her shirt.

"Okay..." Shadow said, "Well, let's get going." Shadow began the march home, Kyra following. Before leaving the forest, Kyra took one last look at her treehouse, the only home she had known as long as she could remember.

Sobbing endlessly, I kept to the high skies where people would only recognize me as a very large bird. Constantly sniffing, I dove down towards the wooded area of the park where no one was around. Landing softly on the grass in an open clearing, my wings slid back into my back as my bloodshot eyes welled up.
"Why is this happening to me?!", I screamed.
Getting up, I tried to find something to punch but settled for a nearby tree. Putting my anger into my fist, I rammed my fist into the tree, making it crack and spark wildly.
"Great, I can also do electricity. How much more of a freak can I be?", I questioned, massaging my hand although it didn't hurt one tiny bit.
Sighing, I sat down on the grass as Tempest and Nightshade landed right next to me.
"I figured you guys would come."
<Why wouldn't we? I mean, we are family>, Nightshade reasoned.
I nodded slowly as Tempest layed her head on my lap and proceeded to purr somewhat as I stroked her slicked back antennae/hair.
"I wonder what will happen to us now?", I murmured while staring up at the sky.

I was a bit confused… Shadow didn’t seem to talk much- or rather, he didn’t seem to like to talk. I wondered why… but then, I thought it was better if I didn’t ask. He didn’t seem to like to answer questions.
The hat he gave me however was really large… and it bugged me slightly. My ears didn’t like it, and it itched them… but I kept it on. Gazing at him brightly with my violet glimmering eyes, I walked with a bounce in my step behind him. My tree… I was going some where away from it… but hopefully I would see it again. But why was there an ebbing feeling in the back of my mind that some thing was about to change… but some thing already had.

“ Shadow, where do you live?” I asked, as we walked down a street that had a few houses upon it, but not many by far. Shadow pointed ahead, and I could not tell what house he was pointing at… but I accepted it as an answer anyway. I shrugged and gazed at him, and then spoke.
“ Did you change?”
He turned to gaze at me, as if thinking of some thing… and nodded, and I immediately shook my head.
“ I knew it. Your hair is very strikingly blue, it reminds me of the sea… I like it. It had to be a change… you changed like me. Although I do not know why I changed… or why you changed, but all I know is that your hair reminds me of the sea.”
Shadow did not respond… but rather picked up his pace so that I had to follow a bit faster. I hoped I didn’t say anything… bad. I didn’t want to make him uncomfortable… I wanted to be his friend. But maybe he was just feeling sorry for me… for whatever reason… I smiled anyway.
“ I’m sorry.”
I gazed at the ground as Shadow approached a building, which I presumed was his house but now I stared at the grass we were walking upon. My ears flattened against my head, although you could not tell because of the cap… as I walked in silence after appologizing. I wondered what following shadow would bring… I only hoped that it would not bring difficulty for Shadow himself.

*Plip!*

"Oh great," I said, "Rain..." fortunately, we were fairly close to where I lived, a simple, two-story home. I lived there with my mother. My father and mother divorced years ago. When they were still together, they had such terrible fights. I hated how they fighted. In fact, if I ever see a guy and a girl having an arguement, it makes me so angry. I usually try to break up the fights.

We quickly dashed over to my home as the precipitation intensified. We were able to get to the house without getting too wet from the rain. I picked out my key and unlocked the door.

"So this is where you live?" Kyra asked as I opened the door.

"I just opened it, what do YOU think?" I replied dryly. Kyra didn't respond.

"Shadow, is that you?" I heard my mom's voice as I shut the door behind me, "Oh my gosh!" She yelled once she saw Kyra and me. My mom was actually quite a bit shorter than I was, by about 6 inches. She had short, brown hair which she kept in a way that still looked quite stylish. Dispite the cheerful front she usually puts up, she's usually quite depressed, sitting long hours in front of the TV, always seeming tired about something."Why didn't you tell me about this?" She slowly walked up to the two of us, "Why on earth did you dye your hair?..."

I sweatdropped as my mom ruffled her fingers through my slightly damp hair. Mom had a tendency to notice the smaller details before seeing the bigger picture. In other words, noticing my change in hair color before noticing the girl I'd brought home with me.

"Mom..." I said, "I was wondering if we could take care of this girl for a while..."

Mom turned to Kyra as she removed her cap, exhaling as if she was quite relieved to remove the cap. Her ears sprung up once the cap had been removed.

"My goodness..." My mom said, "Your ears...are they real?" Mom reached up and, taking Kyra's ears gently in her hands, rubbed the insides of them with her thumbs, feeling the light fur that covered them. This time, both Kyra and I sweatdropped.

"Uh, I guess so..." Kyra said with a slight tone of nervousness in her voice, "I'm Kyra, it's nice to meet you." She shook hands with my mother.

"Well," My mom said, "It's been so long since we've had a guest. Uh...what were you asking for again?"

"I found her living in a tree house in the forest and I thought she could use a better place to stay," I said, slightly aggrivated.

"Oh, right," Mom said, "I guess...it would be okay...if we let thi girl stay with us." She then burst into tears, "I'm so proud of you!!" She yelled, grabbing my shirt as she cried.

"Huh?..." Kyra asked.

I sighed and told her about my family's past.

"Oh..." Kyra said, "I don't really get it all, but I guess I understand." her voice seemed to have lost a little of its usual chipperness after my sad tale.

"You have a tail, too?" My mom asked, her composure restored, as she fiddled with the end of Kyra's tail. It seemed to have uncoiled itself during the course of the conversation.

"I don't get it..." I said for about the thousandth time. Yushi and I were back in the room with the stone slab. For the past half hour, it seemed, we had been looking over the strange markings. Except now they weren't strange. I seemed to be able to read them with ease, and Yushi had had the same thing happen.

For the most part Yushi had been pretty quiet. We had been ignoring the strange looks from people for wearing gloves and sunglasses inside, but we ignored them. Not many people were there besides me at the moment, so I read the slab aloud again. "But what does it mean?" I asked nobody after I had finished reading.

Yushi sniffed. I looked over and saw her face twisted down, looking scared and upset. 'Dang, it must be too much for her,' I thought to myself as she walked to the window. I walked over too, and I saw a tear fall slowly down her cheek from behind her sunglasses.

Drip. Drip. Drippity drip drip BOOM! Out of nowhere a downpour started. My first thoughts went to our bikes, left outside. Then I stopped, realizing that it had been an almost perfectly clear day when I had looked outside a few minutes ago. Now the sky was full of clouds, pouring rain everywhere. Then again, my attention shifted, this time to Yushi, who was still crying softly.

Then something strange clicked in my head. Maybe...maybe Yushi's crying was making it rain. I almost dismissed the idea immediately. How could her crying cause a storm like this? That's when I remembered the strange slate and how after we had changed we could read the inscriptions. What if that, in addition to our changes in appearance, wasn't all that changed? Well, all theories have to be tested...

Carefully, I slid my arm around Yushi. I felt a little awkward, but I quickly got over it. "Come on, Yushi," I said, "we'll figure this out. Please, don't cry..." I could feel my heart beating faster; hopefully she wouldn't notice.
~~~~~~~~
Whee, fun. Nab, if you take it next, try to get your character to stop crying and have the rain stop. Also remember that Maiku's feeling a bit awkward.
I glanced at Maiku. The sunglasses just made the reddish tint to his skin look even darker. I glanced back around at a group of girls who were walking nearby.
"Ooh, what a cute couple!" they jeered. I glared, and thunder clashed outside, very nearby. The girls jumped and went on their way.
I gently shoved Maiku away, hugging my arms.I wiped away the tears from nder the sunglasses. "I'll try," I said softly.
The clouds were beginning to part outside.
So, where was I?
Oh, yes. The mirror.
***
I had gaped at myself for quite a while, there seemed to be a whole lotta things wrong with my reflection.
One, my eyes were too wide, and were a clear blue, much different than the green I was used to. If I squinted slightly, they looked normal.
My hair now had a green tint, I noticed two parts of hair out of place, and I tried to press them down, they went back to where they were before, twitching slightly, they look like...
"Great. I have antennae. I visit a rock and I get antennae."
I then looked at my hands. Green nail polish? I picked at it with my other hand, but nothing happened.
I sighed, and turned around. Something behind me caught my eye. I twisted my head round, and saw, faintly, something shimmering behind me.
Tsuki came over to me, and chirpped. I stared at her.
"Can you see something on my back?" I asked the little pink Pokemon nervously. She jumped up and down excitedly, flapping her arms around. I finally got the message.
"Wings. GREAT. I'm a dragonfly."
I went over to the harp, sat down, and started to play a strange tune.
***
There you go. I'm outside my house, sitting on the steps that lead to the front door.
Water.
I stared up at the sky, the sun shining. I tilted my head, and retreated back onto the porch, wondering if it meant that our outdoor sprinkler was going to come on suddenly, or that someone was crying, or someone was running water in the kitchen. I impatiently waited.
I looked back at the sky, which was now grey. That's what it meant, then? I giggled, and stepped out of the shelter, and the second I did, the downpour started. I smiled, and lifted a hand to catch some of the rain in my hand, and it hit my hand with a force.
Envy suddenly appeared in the tree above, cawing happily at the gloom. I whistled, and he rolled his eyes, before coming to rest on my shoulder.
I was soaked, and calling to my Mom, I left the house.
I walked the streets of the town, my hair and clothes damp, as the two antennae stuck up, and my wings slightly more visible, glistening in the rainwater. My crystal eyes sparkling in delight. I love the rain. It started to lessen, and the sun started to force its way through. Awh.
Black.
I giggled madly.
(OOC: Cool! Nab and Zeratul, nice work! By the way, Nab, Happy B-day!)
"Now it's stopped?" Kyra said as she looked out the window. Indeed, the rain that had been pummeling the ground just minutes ago had slowly lifted and dissipated, as if someone was slowly drifting out of a gloomy state of mind.
"Well, I have heard of storms that come with weather fronts that seem to come in with a bang, but only last for a few minutes." Shadow said as he watched the TV. He was watching the news, partly because he was hiding the fact that he was curious about the sudden storm, and because the only other shows on were Oprah and Jerry Springer...
"We have a breaking news story today," Gabby said on the screen, her hair obviously messed up because of the wind, "Because of how rapidly the storm dissipated, a lighting bolt that struck close to the town Museum seems to have struck a tree and started a small fire. The blaze was quickly brought under control, and the firefighters, though relieved to have put out the fire before it got any worse, have some startling revealations." The camera slowly panned across to reveal what appeared to be a soot-covered firefighter with a piece of charred, yet manufactured-looking wood. Gabby presented him with the microphone.
"What we've found here," The Fire chief said, holding up the wood, "...is what seems to be the remains of a treehouse that had been built in these woods quite some time ago. According to some of the locale, it was said that a young girl lived in this treehouse all by herself. However, we have found no sign of the girl anywhere around here. We only hope that she is safe, so that this small fire can simply remain a small accident and not something worse."
Gabby took back the microphone from the police chief. At that time, Shadow switched off the TV, then looked at Kyra. However, Kyra's eyes were wide open, her face in shock. Her eyes also seemed somewhat watery. Her tree house, the only home she had ever known, or at least remembered, was gone. In a single flash, it was gone. So many memories came back to Kyra at that moment.
"You said...she was living in a treehouse in the woods?" Shadow's mom asked. Kyra didn't react, but Shadow nodded, "Then...was that her treehouse?..."
"I can't be sure," Shadow said, "But it does look that way."
"Shadow..." His mom said, "You could have just saved this girl's life..."
"Wha?" Even though Shadow always seemed to do many things that had a greater impact in the future, normally a positive one, or give out advice that might seem useless at the time but came in handy later. Shadow was known for doing those sorts of things, but never had he done anything like this. Whether it was circumstance, or some sort of gift, or the transformation was uncertain.
But it appeared that Shadow had just saved a life.
* * * * * * *
My eyes widened… as I heard that a tree house has been zapped by horrific lightening and that the remains were nothing but charcoaled. My violet, glimmering eyes sparkled as I watched in horror as those humans rummaged through it… and I swallowed back the sudden pain I felt inside of me. It burned, and my eyes began to water and my throat suddenly was caught and I had to fight the urge to suddenly cry out. Shadow watched, and gazed back at me… and then his mother came in. His mother stated that he had saved my life, because I probably would have been inside of the tree house. I sadly gazed at the ground as I sat cross-legged on the floor, my ears pressed tightly against my forehead. Overwhelming sadness came to me… my home… was gone….
Shadow was confused, and I gazed at him as his mother left the area… and I heard clanking noises not too far off. As if she was in a kitchen. My tail fwapped against the floor, as I sighed… I should be thankful.
Smiling brightly, straining slightly as my ears still were flattened against my head I jerked my head upwards. With this motion, my long strands of golden and strawberry hair glistening in the light as they rippled like fine strands of ribbons. I withdrew a breath as I fiddled with my small, pink-shirt which I had upon me.
“ Th-thank you… Sh-shadow.” I managed to whisper out, as Shadow starred at me. No words came from him, as I turned my gaze towards the outside… clouds still were out. Silence ensued in the air, as Shadow seemed to think quietly to himself while browsing through the tv… as I sat not too far off, cross legged upon the floor, gazing out the window. After a while, suddenly I spoke…
“ Do you ever think that maybe you don’t belong?”
My words seemed to catch Shadow off guard, as he jerked his head to look at me as I slowly turned my head and gazed at him. My eyes were rather… liquid and saddened, as if I were thinking about a depressing though. Shadow slowly nodded… but his facial expression seemed to ask why I would ask some thing so abruptly. I sighed and gazed sadly at the floor as I continued to fiddle with the bottom of my shirt..
“ It’s just… a year ago. That’s all I can remember- a year ago. I woke up on a warm, sandy beach not far from here… wearing clothing and shoes, and I wasn’t even wet- well, my hair was… but every thing else was dry. I don’t remember anything… “
Shadow listened, but his face did not show much emotion. I didn’t really get it to bother me… he didn’t show a lot of expression usually, perhaps he didn’t like to.
“ I don’t know… I just … feel sad. I don’t feel like I’m a human because I don’t know all the human things like you do or everyone else does. I know how to talk human, but I don’t know much else… I had to learn what I know now in a short time. I don’t know anyone else though… everyone is nice to me, and I work at the flower shop from time to time because of the nice lady… but other wise, I have no family or parents. Now that I think about it… I’ve always tried to pretend that I’m a human like everyone else. But now, now… I’ve grown ears and a tail… and well, maybe I’ll never fit in… maybe I’ll always be alone.”
I sighed, closing my eyes for a brief moment as I turned my gaze away from the floor and stared out the window… away from Shadow. My tail wrapped slowly around my small waist, as my hair seemed to flow in front of my face… as if I were trying to hide. I sighed… silence. Shadow did not speak.
“ I’m sorry… I am… I shouldn’t be rambling like this… I don’t know why I did… I gue- never mind. I’m sorry Shadow… I’ll be quiet now. I stop.”
I brought my knees up from the floor from their cross-legged position and brought them tightly to my chest as I took my arms and hugged him. Resting my chin on my knees, I continued to stare outside… worried that Shadow might get annoyed with me and kick me out. I didn’t want that to happen… I didn’t know why I suddenly said that to Shadow- some one who was nice enough to bring me inside, and then talk about stupid things…
* * * * *
It was pretty darn stupid, all right...
But, then again, they were ALL stupid...everything that was happening was stupid. However, for some reason, the words that Kyra had said, they actually made a little sense to him. He never exactly fit in, either. Now his hair had turned blue, and he grew wings at times. It's not like Kyra was entirely alone. For the first time in what was probably his entire life, Shadow felt genuine sympathy for someone. Now, seeing the girl that once had such a bright and cheerful face now slumped on the floor really made him feel sympathetic.
Though it seemed like Shadow either didn't listen or didn't care. (Well, he really didn't care), he did listen, and he had heard all of Kyra's story. He had heard about this girl from a few people, like the flower shop he usually stopped at when he got flowers for Mother's Day (That's right! I need to do that!).
A mother? Shadow had a mother, but Kyra had never mentioned one. With Mother's Day on the horizon, it seemed like everyone was talking about the favors they would do for their mothers. Shadow usually bought a rose to keep his mom from bugging him, but, in reality, it was only a shallow gesture.
Kyra said she had washed on the shore about a year ago. To Shadow, it sounded a little like the story of one of the characters from Golden Sun: Sheba the wind seer. (For more info, look up Golden Sun: The Lost Age for GBA) Shadow felt that he should say something. However, all that came out was some of his shallow opinions:
"Just be glad that you're alive," Shadow said, "You can always find a new place to live. People who treasure inanimate object for no reason are typically fools. You just need to move on, things should take a turn for the better when you get out of a slump." Kyra didn't seem to respond, "Fine," Shadow said, standing up and switching off the TV, "Let's get you to your room. I'm sure you'll be fine in there until we find some other place to keep you."
Shadow seldom took it upon himself to do anything, but, to possibly save himself some trouble, he would try to help Kyra fit in a little bit. Perhaps the isolation in that treehouse was worse than she thought, after all.
Why? All because of the executive meeting.
The main executive (I think her name is Cynthia) led me into her office by the ear and sat me down in front of the desk. She had a brand-new mission for me. I would be upgraded to an actual executive if I stole one thing.
The black-cloak guy. He stood in front of my path. Probably glaring at me from beneath that huge hat. What a lousy getup. Rather stupid, too. After the rain, it was quite warm. He was only making himself overheat.
He kept staring at me. I glowered at him. Did he have to just stand there? Why can't he be like a normal trainer and study me from afar, or at least DO something?!?
Feeling very impacient, I thrusted out my hand towards the guy. "Get the hell outta my way!" I cried as a warning.
My eyes widened as a blast of water burst from my palm. My eyes widened further when I realized black cloak man was gone. I heard a snapping of a twig behind me, and I whirled around.
Black cloak was behind me. A Poochyena was at his feet, growling at me menacingly.
"You are underdeveloped," he scolded me. "The others have at least began to notice their true powers. And you only have the burst of water? What have you been doing all this time?"
"SHUT UP!!!!!" I cried. For good measure, I thrust my palm out again. Numerous bubbles spurted out suddenly. I'd have thought it cute if I was in the mood. Unfortunately for me, a Shadow Ball burst through my feeble bubble wall and hit me, dead-on, in the chest. I flew backwards about fifteen feet. I stared up at black cloak.
"Work," he said. "You put Suicune to shame." He turned around, Poochyena at his heels. "By the way," he said. "You might want to hide the white tassels at your hips. People'll think you've truly gone crazy."
I glanced at my sides. Huh. Two ribbons, I thought before my head hit the ground again. I was out cold.
Ooh, another chance to get some powers in >=D
Maiku (Groudon)
"Are you okay now?" I asked Yushi. She nodded silently, looking out the window to where it was clearing up fast. "That's good," I said, but I couldn't think of anything else to say to her. We had just pretty much proven that when she cries, it rains, but it was a big shock. "Come on," I managed to say. "Let's head out."
We left the building, and headed over to our bikes. Of course, they were still wet, so we decided to start walking them. Before we had gone anywhere, though, I noticed a bunch of firemen and a TV crew a short distance from the museum. "Hold on, Yushi," I said, putting my bike back. I started towards the group of people and noticed that a nearby tree was split in half and charred all over.
I caught a snippet of the interview that a fireman was giving. "?what seems to be the remains of a treehouse that had been built in these woods quite some time ago. According to some of the locale, it was said that a young girl lived in this treehouse?" I tuned him out and looked at the tree in question. It looked like someone took an axe, and then a flamethrower to the tree. Except...
"Oh, wow..." Yushi said, looking at the tree as well. My mind flashed back to the glare she had given to those girls, and the nearby thunderbolt. And it clicked. But, how could Yushi have done something like this?
I stormed back to my bike. This...it wasn't fair. Some stupid rock gives us strange powers and we can't even control them, let alone know what they are until it's too late. It just didn't make sense. Stupid rock, stupid changes, stupid powers, stupid...was it me or did it just get hot out?
I tugged at the collar of my shirt. 'Dang heat,' I thought, as it seemed to get even hotter. I gripped my bike's seat hard. I sighed; it wasn't worth getting mad over. I calmed down slightly, and immediately noticed two things. First, I felt the heat in the air seemingly disappear with my anger. Probably because I had tied the rain to Nab's crying, I immediately knew that my anger had made it hotter.
The other thing I noticed was my bike seat was smoking slightly. I pulled my hand away, and I saw my handprint like a small burn on the seat. I could also see that my glove was hot too, even though I couldn't feel it. "Woah," I said, realizing that, as Yushi had some power with water or something, I had some kind of power with heat.
"Yushi!" I cried, calling her over.
She came over, still shocked at the tree apparently. "Did you see how it was all broken? It was as if-er," I cut her off.
"Yushi, take off your right glove and thrust your palm forward," I had a strange feeling that if Yushi had power over water, she might be able to just create it like I had created heat.
"Um, what? Why?" she asked.
"Just do it," I said. "You know, like those guys on DBZ do."
"I don't see what this has to do with anything, Ma-" she stopped suddenly, because a short stream of water had just emitted from her hand. She looked at her slightly blue hand, a completely disbelieving expression on her face.
"What...was that?" she asked slowly.
"Apparently," I said, "that's your new power."
I gazed at Shadow with a rather bewildered gaze… he was right- perhaps I should just be thankful that I am alive and well.
“ Yes… I should stop being so… so…” I whispered to myself, trying to grasp the words I was looking for but I was unable. Shadow got up abruptly however, and gazed at me.
“"Let's get you to your room. I'm sure you'll be fine in there until we find some other place to keep you."
I nodded and rose to my feet as well, and Shadow walked down the hall way in the house. I followed him close, gazing about his house with a rather curious gaze… it was a nice house, nicely kept and rather clean. It smelled different however… like some one sprayed a gentle mist of some type of scented air freshener- but it was a good type of ‘different’ smell. Following Shadow, he suddenly stopped before a doorway after we climbed a flight of stairs.
“ Your room is in the upstairs… “ He stated clearly, and after we climbed the stairs he went to his right and opened a door. Instantly a dim light spilled onto my face from the moon, for there was one high window in the room which let light spill into it easily. A bed with blue sheets was in the corner of a room, along with a dresser and a trunk… and a closet not too far off. Some books were on a small table near the bed along with a lamp and extra blankets at the foot of the bed.
“ Here’s your room.”
Shadow stated blankly, as I nodded and walked forward until I was in the middle of the room.
“ It’s pretty.” I stated, gazing at him and letting a small smile form upon my lips. He shrugged and stood there, as if feeling a little awkward. Then he responded.
“ Well… it’s getting a bit late. You should go to bed and get some sleep.” He then turned to leave, paused for a strange second… and then shut the door behind him as he left.
I gazed about with my curious large eyes… and then went over to the bed. Putting a hand upon the blanket, I felt the soft materials between my finger and started to purr slightly. It felt soft… very soft, and easily slept in. I smiled as my ears perked forward and I leapt upon the bed, jumping on it with a light thump. I then sat cross legged, facing the window which was next to the bed and I stared out at the night sky. The moon’s rays gently caressed my face and hair… as my eyes glistened by watching the stars.
I remember… remember some thing about the moon and the stars. But why? It is as if the memories are not my own… or they are foreign or long forgotten to me.
I thought, but still… the sight of the moon and the stars made me happy. They were so beautiful…
I don’t know how long I sat there, and I didn’t even hear the door open but a voice made me jerk my head backwards.
“ Kyra?”
Shadow was standing in the door way, holding some articles of clothing or cloth of some sort..
“ Yes?” I said, turning around immediately and getting to my feet. I walked over to him and he quickly put the clothing in my arms.
“ My mother told me to give these to you. They’re pajamas… you can sleep in them.”
I nodded, and Shadow then quickly turned around and left- again, shutting the door.
I gazed at the pajamas… and was transfixed. They were a light blue, and had baggy shorts and a baggy shirt which both were obviously too big for me. They would suit for sleeping in though… and they looked comfortable and soft, airy material. The best part about however… was that they had silver moon and star prints upon both of them, and the collar and sleeves of the shirt were rimmed with a silver color as well. I quickly took off my light shorts and my pink tank top, along with my shoes and socks and gently placed them in a corner. I kept my small silver bracelets around my wrist however… along with my silver necklace chain around my neck. I put on the shorts and shirt, and they were way too big for me… but the shirt was comfortable and the shorts had a draw string which I pulled and tied tightly.
After that, I quickly went to my shorts and searched the pockets… until I found a single blue hair binder. Taking it upon my hand, I quickly put my smooth and easy-to-change hair up, to keep it out of my face while I slept even though a few strands fell in front of my face anyway. Sighing contently, I went to the bed and pulled the covers off and climbed inside of it. Sinking my body down under the covers, the plush pillow cushioned my head and I purred again. Closing my eyes… the last thing which I saw was the moon and stars. Secretly… I began to wonder about Shadow.
”… I'm sure you'll be fine in there until we find some other place to keep you.” He had said those words… but, where would they keep me? Did he mean until they found another place for me to live? The thought made me… rather sad. Although I had only known Shadow for a short time, and he seemed as if some thing was bothering him… he still was nice enough to let me stay here- even if it was only for a short time. I wondered if I did go some where else… where would I go, and would Shadow simply disappear and not see me? I didn’t want that to happen….
AS I thought of this, slowly sleep crept upon my mind and the moon’s gentle glow was the last to be seen…
~_~;; Sorry for being so very late; about a week and a half ago the monsoon season hit the extremely-scary-thunderstorm-complete-with-lightning mark and fried my computer's motherboard. *twitch*
Anywho...
Name: Renata Gentileschi (oh dear...)
Age: 17
Gender: Female..
Personality: Smooth-talking, adaptable, and rather enjoys acting the opposite of what she's really feeling. She's never quite as happy as when she's being angry. She's one of those lonely people who prefer projecting tough images. If glares could kill she would have to wear sunglasses permanently. And she's EXTREMELY feminist. (Gets into a lot of quarrels at work about it.) Her hobbies include drawing and annoying people.
Description: She's about 5'6", thin, and fair. She has wavy dark brown hair, down to her ars- down to the small of her back, is what I mean; it's tied in a looped ponytail with a black ribbon. She paints her nails black too. Her eyes are a creepy maroon red when irked, but otherwise hazel. She also manages to look forbidding while wearing the tank top and short skirt of the female Rocket uniform...
History: For as long as she can remember, Renata had always had connections to the Rocketto Dan; she fired her first gun when she was eight. As far as family is concerned, she has no interest. She dug her last name out of a list of centuries-old artists and Renata because it meant 'rebirth'. Sometimes she slips and refers to herself as Pandora, which is what the lab people at TR used to call her when she was younger. She's racked up a reputation for using stiletto heels to injure people in the event that she forgot to bring her gun on a job.
Pokčmon Companion: Riina [female Rapidash]; Zerosu [black male Rapidash]; and Ameria [young female Flareon]
Reincarnation of: Moltres
Mutation: The area where Moltres' flaming wings would be (all along the backs of her arms to her shoulders) began to overheat with no apparent effect on her, except that her fair skin began to turn faint orangey-red at the elbows, and occasionally chunks of lava rock, apparently from nowhere, break off. Her eyes are now always maroon.
Power: Usual, basic firemaking ability. If she's in a volcanic area, even better - she seems to get more emotional, and say things she wouldn't normally say. (After all, I'm banking on that slight possibility that Moltres was once an eggy left in a volcano incubator...)
Relationships: Her pokemon... and she has a sort of 'partenership-grudging-friendship' thing going on with Enkou if it's ok with S-F...
Other: She likes her reincarnation fine; although, for some reason she now assiduously refuses to go near either Cinnabar Island or that volcano-ey place in R/S where there's ash everywhere. ^_^;
-----------------
I really have no one to blame except myself for this little discrepancy of molten elbows, actually. After all, I'm the one who likes old, mouldy, crumbly things, especially old, mouldy, valuable crumbly things. And it's my fault I like to hang around the museum when I've got nothing to do. And my fault again that I sneaked in the very first night it went on display. I bet Enkou was snoring his arse off when I went.
...Darn... that means I can't Stare at anyone, and then smirk to myself to freak them out....
It was a cool rock, at any rate. I believe the correct term for it is stela. Since I'm female, and have a brain I use on regular basis (unlike a pyromaniac I happen to be acquainted with) I'd deduced it to be older than the usual things that they showed at the place, very much worth flicking. As it turned out, I didn't flick it. Because the pictures on it flicked my attention first. Childishly carved Pokemon, with the colours chalked in a vague attempt to create the semblance of fur and feathers and scales, and runes. Of all things to look at, a chicken on fire caught my eye.
How d'you do Miss Moltres. Chicken on fire. Heh.
The man in black said, smirkingly, "How d'you do Miss Moltres."
Bloody idiot. Must have rubber soles or something, for neither me nor Ameria to have heard anything. My beribboned Flareon (her choice of ornamentation, certainly not mine) flattened her scared little body against my legs, eyes wide in fear. Fear? Since when was Ameria afraid of anything, except maybe Beedrills?
I can't really explain what happened next. It's better just that I skim over it and say that I felt I was Reborn, Reborn from the Ashes, like a phoenix or my namesake, or possibly even a chicken on fire. No boundaries. No missing parents. No false names. No Rocketto Dan obligations. No Enkou to grouse and mutter obscenities when he fouled something up.
I guess I scrammed the museum after that with Ameria at my heels. I'd left the two Rapidash in my room at Headquarters; if I had to dispose of any guards they'd have been much too recognizable. No one else I knew had a black Rapidash. It didn't matter now anyway. My elbows seemed to be burning; burning all the way up to my shoulders. Well, of course they were; there were bleeding coals dropping onto the ground after me...
...wait a minute... what the?
It took me fifteen minutes to backtrack and stomp out the small trail of fire that was following me. Joy. Congratulations Renata, you can now do your own barbecues by sticking pieces of meat on your arms.
Back at Headquarters, I reported myself sick and spent the next two days locked in my room learning to regulate my body temperature. I'm fairly sure that Enkou did scream curses through the door several times about some assignment or other during my reclusion; but on the second day there were no more wake up calls from him. I wondered vaguely if he'd seen the rock at the museum, and if something weird had happened to his elbows as well.
In the learning process very many perishable items were charred, and on more than one occasion, I discovered that I could make tongues of flame do my will. Ameria, Zerosu and Riina were absolutely delighted that their mistress had now approximately the same elemental abilities as them. I know. They kept giving me appraising looks. And I could understand what they said now, in their language, warm and rippling like fire. (Strangely enough, I couldn't fathom what the Pidgeys singing their heads off in the morning were saying... maybe it only applied to fire-types.)
When I looked in the mirror as I tied my hair, I noticed that my eyes were maroon. Solid, glittery maroon, like clotting blood. I thought they only went maroon when I was angry. Other than that, I looked pretty much normal. As long as no one brushed against my arms.
Someone knocked on my door, timidly. Probably a Grunt, a newbie...
I opened it, and stared impassively at the aforementioned Grunt, who began to sweat profusely, I'm glad to note.
"S-sorry to disturb you, M-m-miss Gentileschi (he pronounced it wrongly, as most people do), b-but Miss Cynthia said she wanted to see you."
"Tell her that I will be there directly." I liked Cynthia. She was almost as feminist as I was. And she usually saved some good digs for me to go on. So I went.
*
As I stalked out of the office, I ran the meeting over again in my head. She wanted me to grab the stela rock from the museum. Furthermore, she wanted me to grab it because my partner didn't want to, and then I would get a promotion. I said no. I didn't know why I turned down a pretty decent offer like that. It was as if my mind went off just as Cynthia asked me to flick it and turned back on in time to meet her disbelief at my refusal.
I needed a drink. Which meant I needed to go to town and warm a seat in a bar.
I stared down the guards at the main doors and left the building. As I got on the path into the nearby town, I accidentally trod on something... relatively soft...
I looked down. It was my beloved partner passed out with swirly SD eyes. He'd done himself a swell makeover, though. "Who'd put ribbons on their waist?" I muttered as I turned him over. Hmm. Diamond shapes stencilled onto on his arms, as well. And... lightened skin. And silky blue hair. That's odd... I thought Enkou liked his so-called 'macho' image...
"Oi. Wake up, pozza." I poked him in the ribs, none too cautiously. Maybe he was ticklish.
It was them again. I had seen them once before. Huge birds. Giant dogs. Enormous masses of elements of some kind. A bug-like thing. A kitten-esque thing, both very small. And a dinosaur and a fishie. I don't know what they were doing. Some were arguing about something in Pokčmon tongue. Others were silent.
Blackness shrouded them. I saw huge, white eyes with a little black dot in each and every one of them. They were coming out of the darkness. Some of the eyes gained dark shapes around them. It was very strange, to say in the very least.
The eyes and darkness soon dissapated. A huge mutated cat-like thing with a long tail hovered with the group of Pokčmon now. Each of the Pokčmon suddenly disappeared in a flash.
And I found myself drowning in a null void. I couldn't breathe. I started to flail miserably. I wasn't breathing. I kicked and tried to swim up, but I wasn't moving. A blue light formed on my chest, and I started to breathe. And a strange energy passed through my body.
Black forms, each with crazed shapes, surrounded me. They went in for the kill, each one hitting my gut. I cried out in pain. A constant voice cried out to me, "Wake up! Wake up, pozza!"
I obeyed the voice and woke up to the feeling of a boot rammed into my gut. I groaned and only slumped onto the ground again. I knew exactly who had been kicking me. Goody. Renata was back from moping around.
"You all right down there?" she mused.
"P!ss off, Ren," I grumbled, slowly climbing to my feet.
Renata smirked. "So a more feminine look gives you a more masculine attitude?" she laughed.
What the hell was she... Oh, yeah. The new look. "It's not like I wanted to look like this..." I muttered.
"Fall asleep in the female section of the hideout again?" Renata asked. "Sure looks like it."
"Far from it."
"By the way, I like the ribbons on your waist, but what kind of statement are you trying to make? What happened to your macho look?"
"I got screwed over at the museum," I answered, tugging at the ribbons. "I was trying to snatch a rock, and this stuff happened." I winced as the ribbons remained stuck fast to my waist. "And these things won't come off, either."
"Does it have anything to do with the rock behind the display?"
"Yeah... What's it to you?"
"Does it have anything to do with the rock behind the display?"
"Yeah... what's it to you?"
"Have you touched the backs of my arms recently?"
"Have you perhaps noticed that no one sane ever touches you unless you wave a big sign saying 'IT'S OKAY I WON'T BITE'?"
"Would you like to reconsider that last question?"
"Would you be surprised if I didn't?"
"Oh, shut up." The corner of my eye twitched. This bantering back and forth with questions was beginning to fray my usual patience. I pulled my left glove down below my elbow and shoved it onto Enkou's shoulder. Almost immediately a glowing coal broke off from my skin with a happy sizzling noise.
"GAH!"
I smirked. "I see you're already having fun. It's like that on both arms all the way up to my shoulders. I got it after trying to flick the rock from the museum." Unfortunately, the next thing he did made me stop smirking.
I distinctly saw the baka shoot water from his palm onto the red-hot ember, which died down with another happy fizzling noise.
"Since when did you have control over water?"
"After the fiasco with the rock. DUH." He rolled his eyes.
"I see. Want to go out for a drink?"
"Oh sure, and get !#%$#&$(*& comments about the !*&%$#*#(*& ribbons."
"Wear a trenchcoat. There's some things we need to discuss."
Shadow
Oy Gevalt...
What a day...
First, I get blue hair, then I sprout wings, then I meet this girl with ears and a tail...then that chick, whoever she is, seems to have changed, too...
Then there was Kyra, the girl I talked about earlier with ears and a tail. I didn't know just WHAT to do with her. I mean, she seems to have been affected by the stone, too, so she might be my only chance of finding out just what's going on. I guess it would be good to keep her around, and mom seems to like her.
If only she wasn't so disgustingly sweet...
Those were my thoughts as I slipped under the covers. However, as the minutes passed on, and my clock orbited slowly around the numbers, I found that I couldn't sleep. I mean, it's not everyday you grow wings and save some chick's life. Those are the sorts of things you read in comic books, not in real life.
I don't know why, but at the time, I felt that Kyra was going to have an extended stay at my home...
It wasn't until the next morning that my fears were confirmed...
* * * * *
"Adoption?!"
"Yes," My mom replied, "I thought that, if we can't find a good place for Kyra to stay, I could adopt her."
"Mom, just think this over for a minute!" I said, my hands pressed firmly into the table, "I don't think it's a good idea to just bring this girl into our family just because I saved her life!" Kyra was also at the table, watching us talk curiously, as if she didn't understand what was going on.
"Well," My mom replied, "That old guest room hasn't been used in years, and we do have a stable income. I'm sure we have everything we need to take care of her."
"Mother," I said, trying to calm myself down, "We should at least learn a little more about her before considering something like this..."
"Well, from what I've seen," Mom responded, "This young lady doesn't have anywhere else to go, and I don't think it's right to send her to a foster home like that."
"That," I said, "Or you've wanted a daughter for the longest time..." Mom didn't respond, "That's just it!" I yelled pounding my fist on the table, "You only rationalize the little things that...you..." I stopped when I saw my mom showing quite a fearful expression, "What?..." I asked, "What's wrong?"
"Y..your forehead..." My mom said, "It...turned blue..."
"What?"
Kyrahii Yarito – F – Mew Incarnation
The stars… they were glimmering with the utter most mystical appearance I had ever seen. The moon was in the middle of them, and I felt as if I were floating… trying to reach them. Down below me as I floated, was the deep and churning sea… and the waves crashed and licked upon an invisible shore some where far off. I floated higher and higher… wanting to touch those stars, feeling a strange longing to be with them.
Then a shadowy figure not too far off appeared below me, with strange, mysterious eyes which seemed to harbor a lot of information.
“You’ve awakened. The original.”
And then the shadowy figure disappeared… and a roar rose above the waves. Upon the shore was a four-legged creature, blue in color and gazing at me with harsh eyes. IT let loose a howl, and I gazed at it and the stars were beginning to disappear… I called out to the creature, but it only ran away.
The stars were gone…
My eyes slowly opened, and I felt the sun’s rays gently lapping against my skin. Getting up immediately, I didn’t make a sound as I stared out the window. The sun was rising… and I could tell it was early morning. Stretching my arms out slowly, I quickly got out of the bed. The carpet felt good against my toes… as I quickly put the covers back to where they were supposed to go. After flattening them out- feeling it probably was the polite thing to do I then crept to the door. The pajamas which I were in were quite comfortable… so I thought I’d change later if Shadow decided that I should go some where. So opening the door quietly, I poked my head out into the hallway and gazed about… but I never heard nor saw anyone. Creeping out through the door, I walked down the stairs until suddenly I froze. I heard clanking noises coming from another room… curious, I began to head in that direction.
When I came to the room, I saw it was a kitchen and Shadow’s mother was inside. She was busy washing some dishes, but once she took notice of me she smiled and waved.
“Why, good morning Kyrahii.” She said, as she quickly reached into some cuboards and took out some dishes and placed them on a table.
“sit down, I’ll make you some breakfast. You look like you could use some hardy food.” She said, smiling and I noticed that my shirt collar was stretched around one of my shoulders. I sat down and quickly fixed the collar, and I fiddled with the fork she placed near my plate and cup, until suddenly after what seemed like only a short while, smells filled the air. She then sat down a few strange food plates in front of me…
“Here, eat up.” She then sat another pitcher-like thing which held some thick liquid. I was bewildered- it smelled good.
“What is it?” I asked, as Shadow’s mother sat next to me. She gazed at me with a wide-eyed look.
“ Dear heavens, they’re called pancakes. Here I’ll show you.” She then took one and placed it upon her plate, and then took the liquid and poured it over. After that she took her fork and used it to cut up the pancake and eat small bites. I nodded and soon I was eating my first pancake. It was very good… and I licked the corners of my mouth as I tasted the savory flavor. It was very good- almost as good as the fruit I had made in my garden. (Kyra loves fruit.)
Soon Shadow had joined us, and after he sat down at ate… we were finished, I had two pancakes before I was full and his mother chopped up a banana for me since she learned my love of fruit. She then began to speak of “Adoption”. I didn’t’ know what it meant at first… until after their conversation progressed, I sensed that I knew what it was.
Adoption.
Take you into the family… become part of their family. A child. A daughter.
It was as if a voice told me… and Shadow seemed to become very upset at this. He pounded the table with his fist suddenly, which made my plate clang a little. He… he didn’t seem to want me to stay.
Then my eyes widened as his forehead turned blue… blue?
A figure along the short… letting loose a howl…
It seemed to match his hair slightly, and his mother seemed frightened as his forehead was blue. Shadow was confused, and he abruptly got up and left. His mother sighed… and began to pick up the plates.
“ I’m sorry for his outburst Kyrahii… he’s just no-“
“ Don’t appologize.”
I smiled, getting up and quickly helping her put dishes into the sink.
“ It’s not your fault, nor Shadows. It is my own.”
His mother stopped, gazing at me with a bewildered look.
“How is it your fault? It isn’t your-“
“ No, it is mine. I am sorry… let me quickly go change and then I can leave. I’m sure I can find some where to make a home… the tree was okay for me. Even though it was destroyed, I’m sure I can find another one.”
His mother was about to say some thing until Shadow came back.
“It is blue…” He said quietly, as I nodded to him.
“ Your hair turned blue, perhaps the rest of you is jealous and wants to be that color too.” I simply said, as I nodded to his mother and then to Shadow.
“ I’m going to get changed quickly.”
I then scampered up the stairs and entered my room. I shut the door and then sighed.
As I slowly changed back into my clothes… I began to think.
Adoption… what a strange concept. I didn’t think I wanted to experience it however, Shadow seemed very adament about not having it happen. That was okay I guess… it wasn’t a big deal- but… Shadow… he..
I didn’t know why, but I liked Shadow. Some thing about him made me feel protected and some thing about him made me not care that some times he was a bit down. Shadow was… well, Shadow and I liked that. But… he seemed to not care. As the day yesturday had progressed… I felt as though I could sense more things. I sensed that he didn’t really care… he just felt obligated. I didn’t want to be his burden…
Even if I was extremely saddened by the fact that Shadow did not want me to stay around… I didn’t want to be his burden.
“ I should leave… I do not want to be a problem.” I said to myself, as I finished putting on my clothing and had tied my last shoe. It was then I brought my hand up to my face.
Why was it wet?
I gazed at my hand to see that it was wet… and as I felt my face I found that tears had streamed down my cheeks. I… I had been crying?
I sniffled suddenly, and felt a bad sensation in my throat…as if I were choking on my emotion. I brought my hands to my face as I quickly sat down upon the floor… feeling horrible. I was crying… but why?
Because I’m alone again. Unwanted… I had thought I made a friend but I’m still alone.
So I cried… I tried to cry silently, so not to be a problem…
I was always a problem…
I had tied the tassals around my back, having a lack of a trenchcoat right about now. I had decided to get the drink with Renata. She's never sounded so serious before. Not since I met her.
I settled for a soda out of the vending machine. Unfortunately, at my age, I am unable to obtain beer. No effing fair. I pulled the tab off of the soda can and took a long drink, waiting for Renata to return with her drink. I wanted to know what she wanted to talk about. Quite curious.
Once she sat down, I got straight to business.
"All right," I said, setting down my soda can. "What the hell has you so upset, you suddenly shed the happy-go-lucky attitide and get this drop-dead-serious look in your eyes?"
(Poor Kyrahii, indeed...
Man...we've been writing up a storm. Our stories have progressed a little slower, but they've been done so well!)
Shadow
* * * * *
I grumbled as I folded my laundry, "Why does mom like that girl so much that she wants to adopt her. I mean, it just isn't logical. Why would she want to do something like that?"
"Dad, can we keep her?"
I gasped as that memory flashed before my eyes suddenly. It was something I remembered that happened when I was about 5, but what had exactly happened had drifted away from me as I had grown older.
I then shook my head and began walking down the hall. I turned and saw Kyra in her room. However, she looked like she was packing up. I stopped, intrigued by this behavior. I then saw something drip from Kyra's cheek.
Was she...crying?...
It was then, looking at Kyra as she cried, but tried to hide the fact that she was crying, that I remembered what had happened eleven years ago...
* * *Flashback* * *
"Dad, can't we keep her?" I said as I held the little Absol in my arms. It was still quite young and I easily held it up in my arms. I had been feeding it for the past few days and it seemed to have taken quite a liking to me and my house. Mom, naturally, thought it was adorable, even if it had a scar across its right eye, but she had told me that I had to settle it with my father.
"No," My father replied, "I think a pokemon is too much responsibility for you. Since it's so young it'll probably mesds up the carpet and tear up the furnature. You're just going to have to let it go."
I remember going to a forest later that night and setting the little Absol down on the ground.
"I...I'm sorry, Absol," I said, "But, I just can't take you home with, me, okay?" Absol sat down and wagged its tail. I knew it hadn't understood. I sighed and turned to leave. Absol got up and began following me.
"No!" I said, turning around, "I said you can't come home with me, so stay there!" The Absol shrunk down at my voice. I turned and began walking away. The Absol stayed put, crying out for me as I walked away. A tear rolled down my cheek.
* * * * *
My eyes welled up with tears at that long forgotten memory. I reached down and pulled a pokeball from my belt. Inside it was an Absol...an Absol with a scar across one of its eyes...a female Absol. When it saved me from an Ursaring that had attacked me shortly after Dad had left my mother, I knew it was the real one...
* * * Flashback* * *
"...Absol...?" I said as I stood up, my face covered in scratches. The Absol that had driven the Ursaring away turned at the sound of my voice and looked at me. After sniffing the air around for a few seconds, it perked up and began to take a step towards me. However, it stopped mid-step and wilted in sadness. It then turned and began walking away.
"W...wait..." I said, following the Absol, "Don't run away!"
Absol continued walking away.
"Wait!" I said, "I'm sorry for leaving you alone that day! I wanted to keep you, I really did, but...My dad...he didn't want you because he didn't trust you...But, now My dad's gone."
Absol stopped walking and turned its head around when I said that.
"Dad's gone," I said, "You can probably come stay with us."
* * * * *
A tear ran down my own cheek as I finished the flashbacks into my past. Was I really acting as horrible as my father? My hand that held the pokeball that contained my Absol trembled. I then placed my pokeball back on my belt and took a deep breath.
I slowly walked into Kyra's room and crept up behind her. Kyra gasped as I gently put my hand on her shoulder.
"Kyra..." I said gently.
I bring my own drinks. I always bring my own drinks. No one in this straight-laced town sells me alcohol. Buggrit. Bugger them. So I put some special import vodka (that drunkard exec never finds out where his stash goes) in a pop bottle and glug it where I like and no one looks twice because I never get drunk. Not even rosy cheeks. Ever.
Because Enkou doesn't use his brain, he gets soda, always the same type, always from the same machine. Oh well. His problem.
I shook the bottle and took a swig to better my composure, then said, "The stela."
He drank. "What stela?"
I drank. "What limited vocabulary you have."
He drank. And scowled. He looked less idiotic when he scowled. "Shut up and get to the point."
I smirked. I drank. "Stela is an archaeological term for a piece of old rock, usually inscribed and sculpted as a sort of gravestone. Soooooo. Point Ay: You... er... became weird... yes... that will do... it's comparatively inoffensive and describes the situation perfectly-"
Enkou feinted a punch at me. I dodged. I drank. "-after goggling at the stone. Point Bee: I became weirder after goggling at the stone. Point See: Perchance you saw a man in black directly before, or even after, you goggled at the stone. Point Dee: Have you ever thought that this has happened to other people since the museum is well-known and lots of crowds deluge the building each day?"
He drank. I drank. He burped. I drank. "No, because I'm currently in deep enough sh*t myself to think about other people being in deep sh*t." Something suddenly registered in his eyes. "What, you saw that !^@^%#$&$ too?!"
I drank. "Has a dark sense of humour. Wears too much mascara," I said, hypocritically. I drank. I hiccuped. I never hiccup. But I did anyway. I drank.
He slammed his fist on the table. I drank. "He said some crap to me about Suicune being ashamed. Isn't Suicune this legendary water dog thing? Why the hell should it be ashamed of me?"
I drank. "It's got ribbons and diamonds and a purple mane." I hiccuped and shook what remained of the vodka in my pop bottle, not very alertly. "You've got ribbons and diamonds and purple hair,... well, only just now, but." I hiccuped again. "They say things can change in a day." My elbows, as well as the rest of me, were getting warm. Vodka's like fire shot through your veins. (OOC: Uh-oh, here comes the obligatory dead-drunk scene. ^^'') Wonderful tingling sensation, it is. I'd never finished a bottle a sitting before. Interesting.
I continued. "There is a terribly old manuscript bearing the tale of the Legendaries Incarnate, and some nonsense to do with saving the world, somewhere in our archives. I know because I managed to beg a catalogue off of Cynthia-sai. Assuming that you are Suicune incarnate and I am chicken-on-fire," I hiccuped. "I mean Moltres incarnate, wouldn't it be..." I upended the bottle. Finished it. YessIdid. That's funny, my vision's going blurry.
"Wouldn't it be amusing if we could be heroes? Just for one day?" I think my head hit the tabletop.
I am not drunk. I am never drunk. I wouldn't be so imprudent as to get drunk.
It would be nice if will could overrule nature.
I had begun to feel horrible… sitting upon the floor, sniffling with cries which sounded pathetic and weak. As I tried to control myself, and kept trying to be strong.. .suddenly a hand upon my shoulder jerked me back into reality. My eyes widened, as I whirled around to see… Shadow there?!
“Shadow!” I said suddenly, my tears instantly stopping in my shock as I brought a hand to my face and quickly wiped away the wet tears which had dripped down my cheeks. Blinking slightly and trying to clear my eyes, I shook a little bit out of being startled… and the whole emotion rush.
“ … I’m sorry Kyra-“ He began, but with this I furiously shook my head and got to my feet. Shadow slowly rose to his, as I stumbled through my words while quickly moving about the room to pick it up and keep it as clean as it was before.
“No no no- I’m sorry Shadow. It is my fault… all mine. Do not worry or appologize… I… I can go off some where on my own and try to find a new tree to li-“
In the midst of my movement and words however, Shadow quickly took his hands and grabbed me around the shoulders which held me in one place. I stopped and looked at him, my glistening violet eyes wide with confusion… he didn’t say anything, but the look he gave me was enough to make tears fill my eyes again. I had tried to hold them in… why wouldn’t it work?
“ I…I-don’t need to be adopted. I-I… I was just sad… not because you didn’t want m-me to be adopted…”
Shadow gave me a look, “Why are you sad Kyra?”
He still held me in place, probably knowing that if he did not I would quickly go back to making myself busy again. I gazed at the floor, but I knew I had to look Shadow in the eye and slowly I gazed at him… a few strands of loose, golden-colored hair wavering amongst my face.
“ … I am s-sad because… I annoy you, don’t I?” Shadow’s face was filled with bewilderment at this, as I continued.
“ I s-sense that I annoy you… I don’t try. I-I’m afraid… afraid that you don’t want me to be around here anymore. That you don’t …. “ I was lost for words, as I sighed and gazed away. I closed my eyes for a brief moment and then gazed sadly back at him.
“ I cause too much problems. I’m sorry.” I said again, feeling many strange feelings inside of me that I never felt before… the problem was- how did you express them? I sighed, gazing with a rather pained gaze back at Shadow. I probably made him more annoyed…
Man...I felt horrible...
Watching as Kyra slowly crumbled, her emotions so tangled and confused. I could tell that she had gotten the wrong impression. I mean, sure, I had treated many girls like this, and have gotten the same reaction a few times. But, this one time. Why did this one time seem to stand out so much? Maybe it was because of how cheerful Kyra was when I first met her. Maybe it was because I had offered her a place to stay, then treated her like crap.
I truly felt guilty that day. I mean, I felt like such a monster. Here, this girl seemed to give me so much trust, now it seemed that she held me, or perhaps even herself, in such contempt. Sure, she was annoying at times, but, who isn't?
"Kyra," I said, "If someone wants to take on a burden, they feel that they are ready to take care of it and stick to it until the end,"
Kyra's eyes welled with tears.
"N-not that I mean you're a burden or anything," I said, corrected myself, "I mean, you are annoying at times, but I've heard that said about everyone." I turned my back to Kyra, "Argh!" I whispered to myself, "What am I SAYING?!" It struck me. Were my social skills really THAT bad? I bashed my head against the door frame,
"Baka, baka, baka!!" I yelled to myself as I repeatedly smashed my cranium into the wood on the door frame, "I'm such a baka!"
I then took a deep breath and turned once again to Kyra, I placed my hands on her shoulders once more."Kyra," I said, "I know I've probably given you the wrong impression these past two days."
"Shadow?" Kyra said.
"I know I've acted like you were a problem to me, but, that's just sort of the way I treat people. I know I shouldn't do that."
"Shadow..."
"And I just want you to know that staying here is no problem at all. I guess I'm just a little stressed over the changes that have happened to us."
"Uh...Shadow..."
"Let me just say, It would be perfectly fine with me if you wanted to stay here if not as a sister, then as a tenant."
"Hey, Shadow..." Kyra said blatantly.
"What?" I asked.
"Your forehead's bleeding..."
My eyes widened...
" Shadow! I-I'm soooorry!" Shadow blinked as he put his hand to his head and saw red dots washed upon the finger tips. Despite that, he cracked... a smalll... smirk? A smirk? A smile? A grin? With that he sighed and gazed up at me...
" Kyra, lesson number one: stop appologizing!" He said it light-heartedly, and not cold or stern... was he... he really being nice or was he just trying hard to be? I was a bit confused however...
" You mean you want me to say I'm not sorry for your head bleeding?" My eyes got bigger, and with that he sat cross-legged on the floor, shaking his head but smiling... some what, none-the-less.
" No... you just make it seem like every thing is your fault. Every thing is not your fault... saying sorry because some thing happened and saying your sorry because you did some thing wrong is two different things."
I nodded, as I quickly bent down next to Shadow.
" Your head though... does it hurt?"
Shadow shook his head slowly..
"Not that ..muc-"
Every thing seemed to happen in a blur.
I had knelt down close to shadow, and I brought my light, delicate right hand up from the floor to his cut- to inspect it to make sure it wasn't bleeding way to bad although small little drops were pouring from it rather badly. As my hand came closer to his cut however, suddenly my finger tips seemed to glow a light pink-like color that had a small flash-light-like aura around each of the tips of my right hand's fingers. I didn't know what compelled me to do it... but I slowly touched his forehead with my fingers gently, and like a cool river, the aura from my fingers rushed gently over his cut and the blood, and instantly teh blood slowly began to fade away and the cut began to heal.
A soft, tingling sensation went all the way through my arm and my hand... as I slowly pulled away, gasping as my eyes were wide and filled with a glimmering of bewilderment. I had not known it... but at that time my violet-silver eyes had glowed the same pink color as well. Shadow's eyes were wide with some shock...
" Your eyes... they were..."
He began, as I shook my head.
" Your cut... it's... it's healed..." (healed, but it left a small scab-trace since it was deep and Kyra can't heal extremely well yet.)
Shadow brought his hand to his forehead, and saw no blood was left... and he could only feel the small outline of a barely-visible scab was left. I leaned back a bit, since I was close to Shadow when I touched his cut and softly smiled.
" I'm not sorry Shadow."
He smirked again.... I liked it when Shadow smirked.
My forehead wound, earned by my own stupidity, was healed? Or, at least, mended slightly...
How had she done it? It seemed that, along with her physical changes, she had somehow acquired some sort of healing ability. The lucky little...
Besides, if I let her leave now, I'd lose my only hope of tracking down what exactly was going on.
"Why don't we try going back to the museum?" I said, "Maybe we can find some answers there."
"But..." Kyra said, "The slab..."
"Huh?"
"The slab..." she said, rubbing her hands together timidly, "It...it hurt me..."
"Tell you what," I said, "If we stay out of the room with the slab, will you be okay?"
"Uh..." Kyra said, looking down shyly, "I...I guess..."
"Don't you want to know what's going on?" I asked, "Don't you want to know what's happening to us? I want answers," I said, clenching my fist, "And I'm pretty sure you do, too, right?" I looked over my shoulder at Kyra, "Now, why don't we have some enthusiasm?" I said, smirking.
Kyra paused for a few moments, appearing to not know what she should say. Then, a smile crept across her face. "Yes, sir!" She said, enthusiastically. (Like Yuna from FFX)
"Let's get going, then!" I said. Soon, Kyra and I were dashing down the street in the direction of the museum. Even if we hadn't properly covered Kyra's ears and tail, we made haste to get to the museum before it closed. Kyra actually seemed somewhat relieved to not be in that baseball cap, for she smiled as the wind passed over her ears and her tail trailed behind her. Surprisingly, we didn't get any strange looks as we went down to the museum. I guess girls with ears and tails are normal?...
That, or the people of this town have been watching too much anime...
However, I couldn't seem to shake the feeling that we were being followed...
I dashed through the grass as my feet eagerly pressed against the ground and I swiftly followed Shadow. I felt as if I were moving a bit faster...and some thing inside of me was making me feel a little more ... uplifted. Perhaps it was some thing to do with my new appearance... or the fact Id idn't have to wear a hat. Or maybe it was because I saw Shadow smile.
"We're almost there..." Shadow said, as he ran heavily and turned his face to me. I nodded as my blonde hair rippled through the wind, mimicing Shadow's own blue hair which was also rippling through the movements he created which reflected the light of the sun. I saw the building that we were supposed to go to.. and so I quickly took my tail and wrapped it around my waist as I ran and some how I managed to press my ears underneath my head of thick blonde-strawberry blonde hair. When we came to the building, we stopped and Shadow gazed at me.
" Alright... now let's go inside and you don't have to go into the room with the stone."
I nodded, and as he opened the door I glanced back behind me.
I was confused... I kept sensing as if some thing was following me- yet I didn't see anything. Still...
I must be just nervous..
I thought, and shrugged as I followed Shadow inside the building. We entered the building, and as Shadow began to walk- with a purpose, I gazed about the room more slowly. There wasn't very many people in the museum this time... perhaps they were bored of the rock. I shrugged and quickly walked over to Shadow, but still that feeling stayed with me....
{{Ack! Gomen! Schoolwork/Cold/Writer's Block stalled me. But I'm back!}}
I followed a pair of people who I knew, for sure, were more reincarnates. They were headed back to the museum. Perhaps to find some more answers. I could feel others. One was very familiar. The Suicune boy. The other I didn't care about too much.
I was very much pleased to find out that the huge masses around the ancient tablet had cleared. Only a few people remained, myself and the two reincarnates included. The one other person in the room left, leaving me alone with the other two.
I heard a brief cackling sound. I gazed at the tablet. My eyes narrowed slightly. They were here. Thankfully, they left as suddenly as they came. Gone without a trace. I'd have to keep my eye on this place much more often...
"Excuse me," said a timid voice. "Are you all right?"
I realized I had zoned out momentarily. I turned to the other two. The boy had asked about my condition. A brief smile crossed my lips, but it remained unseen by the others.
"I'm fine," I answered. "I apologize."
Another moment of silence.
"... You two were affected by this slate, weren't you?" I asked. A nod. Another small smile on my behalf. "As was I, too long ago."
I pulled my hat off, for the first time in the longest time. I allowed my mutated ears to twitch a little bit. The other two didn't seem too fazed. A quick blink. That's it. I pulled the hat back on quickly. "This happened to me a long time ago," I told them. "But it's irrelevant."
"So, how much do you know about this thing?" asked the male.
"Almost everything," I answered, rather confidently. "Do you have any questions about it?"
Before anybody answered, I felt the chi of one of the legendaries nearby plummet suddenly. "Excuse me," I said quickly, teleporting from the room. I feared the worst to come.
~ Enkou Wakamusha: Suicune Reincarnate ~
"Heroes, huh?" I mused, even after Renata hit the tabletop. She was out like a light. Poor girl. Couldn't hold her drinks, after all.
"... Don't make me laugh, Renata."
Sure, she was out cold, but I felt I had to get a message out. "What the hell would we have to fight for as Heroes?" I thrust my hand out into the crowd. "This pathetic mass of ignorant fools? Hah! Sure, we could fight for power, but how much power can you find being a goody-goody all the time? You're bound with endless laws, rules, and you're constantly judged on your actions. One slip could bring it down for you.
"Why be a hero when you could be a villain? There's the endless hunt for power, the terrified looks on everybodys faces when you do something, and you're not bound by any stupid rules. That would truly be heaven, Renata. With that in sight, why would you throw that away to try to enhance your reputation with the people? Why would they care, anyway?
"Maybe I'll see you later," I bid, getting up. "But don't count on it."
With that, I got up and left the unconcious Renata to herself. There were soft murmurs all around me, muttering some strange things.
"You've heard what I've heard, right?"
"Of course. Kid lost his mind."
"Suicune's not a problem anymore."
My ears twitched at this statement. I whirled around as I heard the word, "Perfect..." stumble softly from out of nowhere. As I glanced around, nobody looked like they had been talking about me. Good. As I whirled around, I saw Black Cloak again.
"Now what?"
"... I pity Suicune, finding his soul embedded into your worthless shell."
A huge punch sent me sprawling into an empty table. At least, it felt like a punch. I wouldn't know, however. It happened so fast. I saw nothing. Black Cloak continued to glare at me.
"How dare you say such things?" he snapped. "If everybody with your condition had that attitude, this world would be doomed before the new war emerged."
Wait... new war? What was Black Cloak talking about? And why didn't it seem like anybody else could hear him?
"I can only hope that you are the odd man out," Black Cloak told me. "And that the rest of the legendaries' new forms actually give a sh*t about the oncoming dangers."
I blinked and he was gone. Strange... What's up that guy's ***?
The firebird filling up half of the unconscious limbo I was currently in didn't seem too pleased about its position. It - She - Looked at me, and narrowed her eyes. It was amazing how many words you could economize by merely staring at someone in a certain way. The Moltres part of my mentality had certainly perfected it. I say part because, strictly speaking, the I that is speaking now felt kind of empty without the fire-chicken bit combined with me.
With that little snick of narrowed ruby eye, she communicated this: (One has been waiting for a hell of a long time, one cannot believe you're not fully unconscious even when you sleep, one has had to organize everything from temperature control to stopping you from doing something imprudent, and now you're here. Drunk. Hello, you.)
(Greetings and salutations), I said, er, thought, rather flatly.
(Suikun-reincarnate disgusts me), affirmed Moltres with a shick-shick of her crystalline claws against the floorless darkness.
(Oh, Enkou? Don't worry, he disgusts me too.)
(No, listen, he's talking to your dead-drunk earthbound form. It's blasphemy.)
I listened obediently. (That's weird. Even if I know he's been thinking that all along, I never thought he'd ever... say it out loud. Not in front of a crowd. Not with the dramatic hand gestures. But what do you mean, blasphemy?)
(You've been reading those dandy ancient manuscripts, haven't you now...? Must one really summarize it again?)
(...oh. That stuff. It sounds like faery stories, but I like it.)
(Good. By the way, your very stupid partner is gone somewhere and a not much brighter trainer is tapping you on the shoulder. One thinks, if you can wake up, it is best if you do, but the reason there are all those alcoholics out there is because they have no willpo-)
I cut my other half off [there was a distinctly weird aftertaste of talking to yourself]: (I don't need a lecture from you, I can do this myself.)
*
The very preppy-looking trainer started back as the brunette girl sprawled on the tabletop opened her red-irised eyes, grabbed the empty pop bottle and growled, "Don't even think about it, pozza, I'm not in the mood."
Then, she beat it. Stalked classily out the drinks bar like everything was her property. Wo-ow. Scary chick...
Gone...
Just when I thought I had found someone who knew the answers, he was gone.
"Was that...a ghost?" Kyra asked.
"I don't know..." I replied. But, the way he had vanished...I couldn't help but wonder. I turned around, "And we couldn't find anything here, either...Not a single piece of text in this entire museum revealed ANYthing!!"
"Did someone have a question to ask?" A voice suddenly said. The two of us flinched as our private conversation was suddenly invaded by a little man with a safari outfit and large, gray moustache that covered all of his upper lip and then some. He had suddenly appeared between the two of us, a gentle smile on his face.
"Uh...I guess we do..." Kyra said once we had gotten our breath back.
"Well, what do you want to know?" he asked, "I am I. Digg, one of the archeologists who was on the expedition to find these rare artifacts. I know absolutly EVERYTHING about these relics of our ancient past." he gave so many gestures and said it with such enthusiasm that you'd think that he was filming a kid's TV show.
"Well," I said, walking over to Kyra. I grabbed her tail and unwound it so that it was plain to see to everyone in that nearly empty room (Meaning, only the three of us),"Would you happen to know why your little slab gave my friend here this extra appendage?"
"Hmmmm..." Digg said as he walked over to inspect Kyra's tail. She seemed a little nervous as the little man looked it over. He adjusted his glasses as he took the tail in his hand. He gave the large, puffy end of it a solid inspection, "well," he said, putting his hand on his chin, "I don't know...But it is clean and fluffy!" He gave a thumbs-up to the two of us. Kyra and I facefaulted.
The overwhelming sudden rush... of emotion...
I jerked my tail back abruptly from the man's hands and then fwacked him over the head with it. It wasn't hard- but it made the man fall to the floor.
"Kyra!" Shadow said, his eyes wide as he gazed at me. I sweatdropped, but pointed my finger at teh man.
" Don't tell us you can answer all our questions if you can't answer THAT!" I growled, as my ears which used to be flattened against my head, poked out from my light colored hair and flattened against my skull in an angry appearance.
I began, until suddenly every thing seemed to slow down... and my mind began to blurr until suddenly a flash of images came across my mind..
A bar..
Two figures fighting..
One awakening...
Cloaked figure....
Danger..
Reincarnations..
Images of a man and a woman came reeling into my head, along with a shadowy figure's appearance with a bar. It was rememberable however, for I knew where this bar was.
"Kyra? Kyra!" Shadow said, shaking my a bit violently for I must have been out o fit. (Little did Kyra know, when she was having a vision her eyes were glowing extremely bright of the same pink aura she had created ago..)
"S-sorry Shadow!" I gasped as suddenly the images of where I actually was came rushing to my head. I felt a little dizzy as I fell to one knee, and Shadow looked at me with a look that told me he didn't know what to do. I took a few deep breathes, as I shook my head.
" D-don't mind me.. I.. I.."
"Slow down-what happened?"
I swallowed, as I gazed up to ?Shadow and nodded.
"I had a vision... it came so quickly... but... I think we might be able to find the answers a bar."
"A BAR?!" Shadow said, a sweatdrop forming. I nodded.
" There are two figures there... and that... th-that strange shadowy figure. I think if we go to the main local bar in town, we'll find some thing."
Shadow stopped to think as he was in thought... and then he nodded.
"Alright... let's head over there."
I smiled with my ears perked forward and my tail whipping wildly upwards.
" Yeah, let's go!"
"Bloody cretin bloody arsehole bloody buggrit running out of adjectives bloody moron. What do you think you're doing?"
Renata's words came onto deaf ears. Black Cloak and I were on a stand-off, just glaring at each other frantically. I assure you, if I was a reincarnate of an electric Pokčmon legend thingy, there'd be sparks flying.
"Enkou!" Renata cried exhasperatedly.
Black Cloak turned his head slightly to Renata. "Ah," he nodded. "You must be the one to bear Moltres. You seem empathetic."
Renata looked confused.
I was mad at Black Cloak. I charged up a shot in my hands. "Hey!" I shouted. "Black Cloak! The fight's over here!"
I thrust my palm out towards Black Cloak, delighted at the blast of water coming from it. Yeah, the war didn't catch the people's ears, but the water shot caught their eyes. X glanced over lazily. In the blink of an eye, he was gone, and the water shot broke through the window. I heard a very small 'tmp' behind me. I had barely begun to turn around when a cold hand was placed onto my back. A cold chill passed through my veins, very much unlike the cold chill I usually feel when I'm using the water skill. This one immobilized me.
"W-What the hell?!?"
"If this were to be a fight, you'd have lost long ago, Daisuki Tokimora."
My eye twitched at the mentions of my real name. I growled lowly and managed to find the Pokčballs at my belt. I flicked at one and let it drop. When it fit the floor, Boukou emerged, glaring angrily at Black Cloak. He nodded slightly, as if accepting the battle, and released one of his own Pokčmon. I expected to see his Houndour, but instead met with a Sneasel. Hah! Pokčmon suicide! Ice against Fire!
"Boukou!" I smirked. "Kill that lousy Sneasel!"
Boukou released a stream of blue flames from his mouth. X looked unfazed, but I couldn't tell from his stupid, floppy hat. Who wears that much indoors, anway?
"Yami," he said cooly. "Go for it."
The Sneasel seemed to know what he was talking about, because he reacted instantly. Not only did he completely evade Boukou's Flamethrower attack, but he had managed to get behind Boukou. Before Boukou could even comprehend what happened, he was left with three huge scratch marks in his back from Sneasel's Slash attack. Boukou whipped around, his tail connecting with Sneasel in a completely lucky move. Sneasel backed up a bit, but ducked low. I could notice a faint glowfrom the dark Pokčmon's eyes even through the corners of my own eyes. Sneasel leapt towards Boukou and hit him, dead-on. Two other Pokčmon appeared briefly, as well. A Houndour and a Poochyena. Each charged at Boukou, as well.
"Hey!" I shouted. "No fair, sending out your other Pokčmon against my own!"
"It's part of the ability Sneasel has," Black Cloak snapped in reply. "Beat Up. Each member of the team who can attacks the opponent with a weak blow. However, your Pokčmon are as weak as you are. The move left 'Boukou,' as you call him, unconcious."
"EAAH?!?" I gasped. "B-Boukou!"
True to Black Cloak's words, Boukou was unconcious on the ground. I struggled immensely, trying to free myself from the paralysis.
"Fun move," Renata smiled, stroking Sneasel under the chin.
I ran with Kyra trailing just behind towards the closest bar. I hadn't reached it that I found myself hit with what seemed to be a water pulse.
"Shadow," Kyra asked as she caught up to my soaking form, "Are you okay?"
Dispite the fact that I was clenching my fist and some blood vessels on my head were throbbing in annoyance, I managed to get out a calm, "I'm okay..." evben if it was through clenched teeth. I turned to the source of the blast, where it looked like a fight was taking place.
A whole group of Dark-type pokemon were currently beating the crud out of another pokemon.
"That's some rally going on in there," I said.
"Rally?" Kyra asked, "It looks like a fight to me."
I facefaulted. "It's a figure of speech..." I said, pulling a pokeball from my belt. I cast it out (For the first time in this whole RPG!) towards the shattered window that the water blast had come from.
"STEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!" My Steelix roared as it popped out of its pokeball and appeared halfway inside of the bar. Indeed, the people were so spooked by the appearence of my Steelix that everyone, except for a dead-drunk woman, some guy with ribbons on his waist, and the guy in the black cloak, ran away screaming like idiots. However, Black-cloaks pokemon were, at least, spooked back into their pokeballs by Steelix's roar.
'Wh...Where'd that thing come from?!" The guy with ribbons yelled.
"Excuse me," I said as I stepped in next to my Steelix, "But I believe your friend here owes us an explination."
"What exshplinashhion?" The girl asked.
"Not her," I said, sweatdropping, "I meant the guy in the cloak..."
"Aren't you a little young to own a Steelix?" The bartender asked me, "It scared all of my customers away!"
"Oh, this?" I said in a depressed tone as I pointed to Steelix, "She's the most gentle Steelix you'll ever see in your life..."
"SHE?!" The bartender asked.
At this, my Steelix cooed softly and nuzzled me with the front of her head, smiling.
"I thought I told you to stop doing that," I said as Steelix showered me with her affection. In fact, in order to keep myself from being flattened, I had to return her to her pokeball.
I pouted as the Mysterious New Arrival (Male) returned his Steelix to her pokeball. "Awwww, that Shteelix wash rather kawaii. I wanshted to get to know her better... eshpeshially shince she'sh female."
The Mysterious New Arrival (Male) stared at me. "What, are you one of those feminist people that think girls should rule the world and stuff?"
"Actually, yesh, although I'm not sho biashed that I think the entire male population ish uselesh and brainlesh. Ash it ish, I am convinshed that shevenny-five percent of it, including him-" I pointed at Enkou- "ish uselesh and brainlesh."
"Ummm, that's not very nice," said the Mysterious New Arrival (Female). She had a curling pink tail. "Isn't he your friend?"
"Friend? Hah! We don't callem friendsh in Rocketry, we callshem partnersh what've been partnered to you without sho much ash a by-your-leave, pozzha!" I punched the side of my head. Gah... "OI! BARTENDER! GOTSH A HANGOVER CURE? GIVE IT HERE BEFORE I PROD SHOME BUTTOCK!"
"Okay. Whatever..." The Mysterious New Arrival (Male) shook his head, and turned to the man in the black cloak. "Now, regarding my former question... What's going on?"
With one of my Colts pressed to the bartender's temple I managed to choke a hangover cure out of him within a minute. It was absolutely disgusting, he called it an oyster or something, but it was just egg yolk plus something really horrible, so that shows you can't trust bartenders and their weird names for stuff. I considered shooting him anyway but then remembered I was a nice person, so I didn't. I just clonked him on the side of his head.
Then I figured I should be paying some attention to what the others were doing. The Mysterious New Arrivals had intro'd themselves as Shadow and Kyra, and Black Cloak was staring at all of us. Maybe he was weighing up his chances of spilling the beans.
Seeing as Mr I'm-So-Good-At-Pokemon-Battles Enkou was twitching around in his paralysis fit on the floor, I decided to be magnanimous (even though I was having a killer headache) and un-paralyze him. I'd equipped a paralyze-cure berry on Ameria the over-optimistic flareon, so I released her and dug it out from the depths of her frilly-ribbon-collar thing and shoved it in Enkou's mouth.
"I never knew your real name was Daisuki Tokimora. Sounds a lot better, eh?"
Shadow-Fox
26th May 2003, 08:34 PM
I swallowed the Berry gratefully, only to have the thought of spitting it back out when Renata mentioned my real name.
"Nobody's called me Daisuki for the longest time," I muttered. "And I'd like it if you didn't start to pick up on that pattern."
She probably would, just to spite me. Knowing her...
I called Boukou back. I'd heal him later, when I figured out what the hell was going on. All I know is that the newcomers wanted some answers from old Black Cloak, I kept hearing voices snickering at me, and Renata was currently getting over a hangover. Yes, this was a sane group. Go figure.
Black Cloak was talking to the newcomers. I heard this much: "--- Would be easier to understand if we headed back to the tablet. I could show you the meaning of a few of the carvings on it, and it might help you out a bit."
"What are you talking about?" I asked him.
Black Cloak turned to me. "I see you've recovered," he noted. "These people over here would like to know about their present predicament. Perhaps you'd like to come? Who knows? This may set you on the right path and let Suicune reclaim his good name---"
"I don't care about Swikoon," I snapped in reply. "All I care about is finding out what happened to me."
Black Cloak might've rolled his eyes. Can't tell. "Are you coming or not?"
"Sure," I shrugged. "Whatever."
Black Cloak looked past me. "Is your friend coming?"
"Who knows?" I asked. Turning around, I called out, "Oi! Ren! You coming to the museum with us?"
While you're at it, you can take a little bit fo a hint of about 90% of the people who signed up NOT posting and try to make it revolve around EVERY character, by at LEAST introducing some again at the Museum*Dru and I both, for example*. Not the 3 or 4 you have been centering it.
Theres a REASON RPGs with 4 or less characters to start are usually closed - it's not really allowed.
Theres a REASON RPGs with 4 or less characters to start are usually closed - it's not really allowed.
Allow me to point out a few things:
In case you haven't noticed, most of the posts have merely centered around the individual conflicts between several groups of characters. Any of you may post as you wish, continuing your own story. That is what the four of us have been doing. Interaction is key in a good RPG, that is true, but you can't interact unless you choose to.
So, if you want, you can tell of your own character's conflicts and, perhaps deciding on returning to the museum.
Remember, you are playing the role of your character, you decide what he/she does.
If you're stuck and can't find a way to post, don't get frustrated, but ask us to help in a slightly more calm way.
If I am misunderstanding, please forgive me. Your last post does seem a little...provocative, though...
The Muffin Man
NO ONE should EVER have to "ask" for a way to fit their posts in for an RPG they joined. And "individual conflicts" are looked down upon when they take so much away from the main plot that no one else can really do much of anything.
And it should not be the RPers choice to RP with someone else, it should be a MUTUAL choice to interact.
Kohdok
Now you misunderstand me...
I meant, the individual conflicts not as a different story completely, but how the others deal with the larger picture in their own way, giving them a little freedom.
What I meant by "Ask for assistance" was that you try to interact with someone and let them help you get going. That also covers the third point.
To All: I apologize for the arguement. Let us just get on with our lives...
i can't post right now... but I wanted to make a quick comment.
- Firstly, I disagree with your p.o.v Mike, but let's not argue that further. You can't just expect people to go off of their plotlines which already formed and 'wham' go and immediatly run to your character. If you want interaction, you gotta go yourself and try to make interaction with other characters. IT is your own responsibility to get your character involved... not other's to go make your character involved when they already have some thing going on. If you make yoru character make an attempt to interact with other characters, THEN naturally the other RPers should keep that interaction going unless some plot point insues them to split otherwise.
Secondly... we're heading back tot he museum, we can interact there.
But enough... let's just continue
Actually, it's more like "Wham, remember you're not the only people in the RPG."
It is not right/fair(hopefully one day we can add 'allowed'...) to start a miniplot with your characters and give no one else any chance so early in the RPG.
~*~Varda~*~
First my eyes, now my hair. What next?
Spinn was just about to jump up and rip Mike's throat out.
"SPINN!" I roared. It was really, really loud too. He (well, both hes) almost jumped out of thier skin. Spinn ran and dove under the couch.
"Get in, close that door," I growled at Mike. He knew that there was something wrong with me, and there was no point in trying to kick him out of it now.
"It was that rock.. at the museum..." I said, sitting on the floor.
Mike was looking at me like a bomb that was going to explode at any minute.
"Oh, sit down already. Good God, I'm not going to kill you. Not right now, at least," I snapped. He followed my instructions.
"I don't know what's going on Varda, but this involves me too. You're not the only one who the stone affected. I'm... I don't know, I feel different too."
I looked up at him. "What do you mean?"
He shook his head. "I don't know quite yet. I really don't..."
I grunted. Spinn crawled out from under the couch and looked at me. "Flare?" he wimpered.
I sort of smiled. "C'mere you fluffball," I said, opening my arms to him. He bounded at me.
"Eon, flare! Flare flare eon!" He cried joyfully.
I laughed and ruffled his fur. "You moronic little thing, you need to be quiet when I tell you, that's all."
"Flare!" He growled, still looking at Mike uneasily.
"Stop that," I said, playfully bopping him on the head. he whirled around and sunk his teeth into my arm a little harder than he ment to.
"Ahhh!" I cried in surprise. He had broken the skin.
"Eon..." He wimpered again.
"It's not that bad silly. Just don't do it again!" I wiped the blood off on my pants.
Spinn bounded off. He returned with another Pokeball in his mouth.
"Oh, alright, c'mout Roxy!" I let my little Vulpix out.
"Vul?" She asked, looking at Mike as well. She knew that Spinn didn't like him, and she didn't really know what to make of him.
"Well... What do you think? Should we go back to the museum?" I asked Mike.
I nodded and sighed, Spinn snarling at me. I raised an eyebrow and shook my head. I pulled on the door.
"Oh it jams...It's really hard to pull open, even for a girl like ME!"She laughed a bit and flexed, now it seemed even bigger than before...I shrugged it off once more and sighed.
"I'll open it..."she grumbled, and clutched the door with both hands...in one powerful tug, I heard a tear and a crack, as both her sleeves gave way to free the powerful biceps beneath, and the door followed suit, smashing over my skull. I simply fell on my butt, and rubbed my neck.
"Mike...that...that kind of force should have damn near killed you...are you ok..?"
Wobbly, I stood up, and shook my head.
"Yeah, but I feel fine..."
Varda grabbed my wrist gently, then let go.
"We'd...better go...I'm afraid I'm gonna find SOMETHING that can kill you..."
We both nodded as we ran out and made a dash for the museum.
I returned Ameria to her pokeball. "Of course I'm coming... can't leave you to terrify all these nice, normal people, can I?"
"No, actually I think it's worse if you do come," Enkou muttered.
Kogane City wasn't that fair from where we were. The black cloak, whose name - or lack of it - was X, wanted to simply teleport there. Everyone else disagreed, because they couldn't teleport (obviously). I wanted to take my two Rapidash and go riding but since most of the others (Kyra was quite enthusiastic about it) either didn't know or didn't want to know how to ride, we ended up taking the 24-hour bus.
How boring.
We hightailed it to the museum, but as it was by now late evening, the great doors were closed. With guards. We saw a guy and a girl, both with the telltale 'Oh-crap-what-the-censoredword-is-happening-to-me' air about them. The guy was rubbing his neck.
"Hey, do you think we can get in?"
