Allright I am reposting this story in this forum-so here's part one with the plotline and the first installment-I will add the next segment soon

Plotline: This is the adventure of Ryan, (and if anyone else wants to join in I really don't care) a pokemaster who is going to the Gortook Isles. The Gortook Isles Challenge are held on the Gortook Isles (obviously) a scarcly populated chain of Islands. The challenge happens only once a decade and the rules are simple. First, to get in you must have placed in the top three in two of the four main Leagues. (Indigo, Johoto etc...) So the invite list is very small. If you are invited you are usually a top trainer for that decade. Anyways the second rule is you are only allowed to bring 3 pokemon from your winning teams, and once you select the three you cannot change you picks throughout your journey (you may capture up to six more pokemon on the journey to complete your team) . As for the point of the challenge, the top 10 pokemasters from the previous challenge are roaming the Isles a random. The task is to track down each master, defeat their teams to earn a piece of a golden circle. A completed circle has six parts and a completed circle enable you to go onto the most prestigious tournament in pokemon. If you can train your new pokemon well enough, you will be recongnized as an outstanding trainer.

Ok that's the overall plot-I havn't really smoothed it out yet-I just want to get some reaction to it-now for part one of the story.....

The boat sailed through the ocean with ease, compared with last night's storm and choppy waters, this was like a hot knife through butter. Ryan stood at the front of the boat. He liked the ocean at night, it made him feel small but it put him in his place. Ryan breathed in deeply. The ocean air was so relaxing....his thoughts turned to the task before him. There was allot of secrecy behind this challenge. In fact, the only thing he had ever heard about it before was the tournament at the end of the year, which usually was on television. He remembered watching it on TV when he was six, the trainers were all very very skilled, and some of them went on to be in the Elite Four. He turned thoughts about the challenge over and over in his mind, wondering exactly what he had to do. Ryan had only recieved the invitation to the challenge last month, and so did the various other trainers on board. Ryan knew a few of the trainers on board, he had battled a few of them a couple times. Ryan was a surprise trainer, no one knew of him before he won the Indigo league, and after allot of fanfare his life returned to basic normalcy. He got third place in the Johoto league tournament after he lost to Eva, a trainer who was on the boat. Eva was beautiful, intelligent, and the love intrest of Ryan.
Ryan turned and headed towards his cabin. There were not very many people out at this time of night (Ryan's a night person). He looked down at his pokeball belt. He was dissapointed that there were only three balls on his belt. He had put in allot of training and his team was very solid. Now he had to scrap it and start over. He kept his three top pokemon, the ones that were permanent members of his team, because it was the most logical choice. His long-time comanion and first pokemon, Charizard, was his number one. His combination of strength, flight, and fire abilities made him a tough combatent. Charizard was his fighter, the pokemon in his team that does allot of the dirty work. His next pokemon was Hypno, while physically weak, his Hypno's phsychic ability was increadibly strong. Ryan had been working on Hypno's defense recently, and even though most of the time it was not needed because he was rarely struck, it was getting better. Hypno was his specialist pokemon, one who he usually used to take out pokemon that were strong against his Charizard's physical attacks. His last pokemon was another that has been with him from the start. Jolteon was his speed pokemon, his agility was his strongest defense, and Ryan would us Jolteon in situations where he needed to buy time to devise a plan in the middle of battle. Ryan grew up in Frond Bay, the world famous city where Eevee's are breed. He recieved an Eevee when he left as well has his Charmander.
The next morning would bring answers to his question.

Ryan awoke when the sensation of a moving boat ceased. After a week on the sea, the moving sensation becomes normal and your body gets used to it. Now that it had ended Ryan felt a little dissoriented, but nothing that didn't go away in a short time. Getting out of bed, Ryan slipped on his leather sandels and kakhi shorts. He strapped on his belt and went out on the deck. Several other trainers were walking around on the deck, and he saw several others allready walking across a plank onto the dock. Ryan ran to his room and grabbed his backpack and headed for the dock. It was a fairly long dock which extended pretty far out into the ocean. A couple of local people had a taxi service to carry the passengers from the boat to the land since the dock was so long. Ryan declined a ride preferring to walk. Ryan looked ahead to see a sign at the end of the dock. Due to the fact that the lettering was not very big, he couldn't make out what it said. He quickened his pace all the while peering at the sign. When it came into view he read it out loud. "Welcome to Overland City, a little slice of paradise" Ryan chuckled, the motto or catch phrase was catchy. He looked over the side of the dock and saw a Tentacool floating lazily in the water. Ryan continued to walk the length of the dock untill he stepped onto dry land.
"Hey Ryan what's up?" came a sweet voice from behind him. Without even turning around he smiled. "Hey Eva, not to much, it's beautiful out here don't you think?" Ryan said as he turned around. While the scenery was lovely, it didn't compare to what was no in front of him. Ryan felt his heart racing. Eva was beautiful, that enough anyone could notice. What really made her the jewel in his eye was everything else about her. The way she was with people, how everyone became her friend from five minutes of conversation with her, the way she treated her pokemon, everything about her just overflowed with perfection. When battling, her personality of caring and charming dissapeared and she held no mercy untill her opponent gave up. She was skillfull and deadly in battle, and this only enhanced the aura around her. They made small talk for awhile, mostly about what they had heard about the town of Overland. Overland was the largest city and the basic capitol for the Gortook Isles. Infact, it is probably the only settlement that could be called a city. Not very large, this city heavily relied on tourism. They were directed into a large hotel where they were to meet in a large room. Ryan discovered that every trainer had a seat with there name on it. He found his and sat down to a kid with bright white hair. Even though it was a tropical Island, this guy was wearing a get up that belonged in the Victorian era. A lavish outfit, this guy reminded him of the guy on the Castlevania, or like some ery vampire. His eyes were closed as if he was meditating. Ryan poked the guy on the shoulder. He didn't even budge or acknowledge Ryan. He shrugged it off, some people were just strange. Ryan looked around at the other trainers and waved at a few of the ones he had met.
After everyone settled down, a speaker got up and gave a usual welcome speech. After introducing a few sponser folks and a few president guys, he got down the the nitty gritty so to speak. He explained the rules of this challenge. It seemed simple enough, collect six gold pieces to complete a circle. There are ten trainers roaming the Islands that had these pieces and in order to collect them each trainer must hunt down the masters and beat their teams. This is what Ryan had basically heard in rumor on the boat. He was expecting more, but was dissapointed when the speaker sat down. Another speaker got up and explained that once the challenge started, we had to rely on us and our pokemon alone. Traveling is groups was not allowed. Ryan was dissapointed, he was looking forward to tagging along with Eva for a short while before taking his own path. Oh well. After the meeting was let out there was a short dinner. All 100 some odd trainers filled their stomachs with the delicious local food. Like the meeting, everyone was assigned a seat and Ryan had to sit next to the wierd white haired kid. He had not even said a word the entire time, and he ate dinner quickly and quitly. After the dinner there was a party out on the beach. The challenge started at 12 a.m. so Ryan decided to hit up the party for awhile. He found Eva and asked her to dance. They danced for awhile before Eva asked if Ryan had talked to Damien. "Who's Damien?" Ryan replied
"Well, he's only the strongest trainer here," Eva responded. This caught Ryan's curiosity. He always wanted to face the best. "Which one his he?" Ryan asked as he glanced over three trainer he thought looked strong. "He was sitting next to you the whole meeting a dinner, he had white hair, you cna't tell me you havn't heard of Damien Mars!"
"I don't follow the whole social scene very well Eva," Ryan admitted. "Well he has basically won every single match he has ever fought, and he will probably be invited to try to become a part of the Elite four after this tournament,"
Ryan couldn't believe he had been sitting next to someone so good. Ryan did not doubt his talents, but he had lost his share of matches. For someone to not lose one, that was impressive. Ryan had to admit he wanted to challenge Damien, but he did not see him for the rest of the night. The party started to die down at around 11 because many of the trainers were geared for an early start. Eva tagged along with Ryan for the rest of the night. They talked about many things, and Ryan was lost in the moment and for a short while completly forgot about the next day. For now, he was with the only person he wanted to be with in paradise.

Ryan woke up to his pokedex alarm. It was 6 oclock and the challenge had started. His handheld computer automatically updated him with rough locations of 10 trainers. Eva had allready took off, so Ryan was alone again. Looking at his screen, he saw a chain of Islands. Bold colored lines indicated the "zones" where one of the masters should be located. Ryan decided he should work his way from on side of the Island chain to the other. He was roughly in the middle of the Chain, and on the largest Island. He decided to head north the the jungle/volcano Island Lawney Isle. The computer gave him a quick update on Lawney. It was an active volcano that was constantly spewing lava from the west side of the mountain and expanding the Island's size. The lava slide just cut a dark gash into what was a densly green jungle. This island only had one settlement located in the North part of the Island. As for pokemon it only had a few flying pokemon that made it's nests on the Island, no other pokemon had made the swim to the Island. Deciding this was the right Island, he looked up how to get there. He discovered that he was not allowed access to transportation. He had to rely on his pokemon. This was not a huge problem, Ryan had learned and tought Charizard to fly with him on his back, and infact sometimes Ryan would ride Charizard sometimes when he was training him. He pulled out Charizard's pokeball. "Charizard I need you," Ryan called as he tossed out his pokeball. A red energy beam appeared before Charizard came out. Charizard roared and stretched. It had been quite awhile sense he had been out. "Hey there buddy, have a nice rest?" Charizard gave a nod. "Ok buddy remember the adventure I told you we were going on? Well it has started, it's going to be a long haul but do you think you could fly me north a few miles?" It was about five miles direct flight to Lawney island, and Charizard could make it with not much sweat. A strong flyer, Charizard was a quick ride from one place to the other. It took Ryan several weeks to build up Charizard's strength to the point that he could even carry him, and after several years of more training Charizard had become one of the strongest flyer Ryan had seen. Mounting his back, with one mighty swoop Charizard was in the air. Ryan pointed him North. The view from the back of Charizard was always beautiful. He did not fly to high but he was still several hundred feet up. Looking down he actually saw some trainers who were training there pokemon in an open field. He commited the spot to memory because he would use it later to train his pokemon before the tournament. It took half an hour, but Charizard made it to the Island. Once they landed, Ryan recalled Charizard. "You need a nice rest there buddy," he replaced the pokeball on his belt. He surveyed his surroundings. The master he was looking for was somewhere on this Island. The computer showed a picture of him. The trainer was a lanky male who looked in his late 20's. Long brown hair covered his face, which was also covered by a medium length beard. His name was Gerisum but the computer said to call him Piggy. "Well looks like I picked a winner to take on first," A clue to the whereabouts of this master was provided under the picture. It was a short rhyme or riddle but it read: Careless and free, where you'll find me, is high in a tree.
As if this helped any, the entire Island was covered with trees! He could see where the "challenge" in this challenge came from. Sighing, Ryan decided to head into the forest and then South thinking this guy might avoid the settlement. Making his way through the forest, he heard many sounds around him but never saw anything. After about 2 hours of picking through the jungle, he came to a trail that made his hike south easier. Ryan continued down this path untill midday, when he first noticed something was following him. Not on the ground, but from tree to tree the same sound he would hear above his head. Before he could see what it was by turning around it would be in the leaves again hiding. He fingered his the pokeball for his Hypno. If there was a pokemon in the tree's, Hypno might be able to find it. He called out Hypno. "Hypno use your psychic and move those branches right there," he pointed at the tree "Find out what is following us!" Hypno nodded and looked at the tree. Pointing at it, a unforseen force spread the limbs of the trees. Ryan saw something hiding still. Hypno must of sensed this as well, for the branch that the thing was sitting on broke off and fell. A round ball of vines fell to the ground but before it hit two vines shot out it swung into another tree. "Hey I think that was a pokemon, Hypno use your confusion and have it come out of the tree's,"
Hypno really did not need to be told what to do, whenever Hypno was out, Ryan had a sense that Hypno was reading his mind. A tingling sensation in his head was all the proof he had, other than the fact that Hypno would sometime do what Ryan was thinking without Ryan saying it. After Hypno waved his arms, the leaves around the trees started to shake and then a pokemon fell again. It crashed to the ground but popped right back up. Ryan was surprised as he saw a Tanglea ready for attack. Two vines shot out an nailed Hypno smack in the face. Hypno was sent back several feet rolling. Using it's abilities, it righted itself and landed the roll on it's feet. Hyno looked angry and readied to respond to the hostility. Ryan never saw a Tanglea swing from tree to tree before. Usually they ran around on the ground and ran into each other. Ryan always thought they were funny pokemon, he never really considered them as real good battling pokemon. He didn't want to stomp this pokemon, but another vine whip attack that Hypno dodged meant that this pokemon was not going to go away. "Hypno see if you can use your Hypnosis and put it to sleep!" Hypno started to sway back and forth as it sent out vibes of sleep. Tanglea wavered for a minute. It shot a vine up at the last second and pulled itself out of the direction of Hypno's powerful psychic waves. Sitting on a branch, it shook of the effects of it's drowsiness. "Hypno use psychic and knock it off that tree!" Hypno closed it's eyes and a blue haze appeared around Tanglea. Hypno then lifted Tanglea up and then open it's eyes. Tanglea began to fall. Once more it's vines saved him from a fall. Hitting the ground the vines re-directed Tanglea's fall and Tanglea landed a body slam right into Hypno. Slow to get up, Hypno could not avoid the spray of Stun Spore as Tanglea sprayed it all of Hypno. Now paralyzed, Hypno could not resist physically. Tanglea sent several vines out from it body. Still able to use it's powers, Hypno redirected several of the vines, but was so mentally strained from using it's powers so much that the last two vines were not stopped. They wrapped around Hypno and began to squeeze him. Hypno looked spent, and sense Ryan had not been training him hard lately he recalled Hypno. Slightly embarrassed a wild pokemon had defeated one of his best trained pokemon, he decided to challenge himself. Partially due to the loss of Hypno, and due to the fact that Charizard was tired from a long flight, Ryan called out Jolteon, who's electrical attacks were not strong against Tanglea, to do battle.

Great Chapter. This fic is coming along nicely. I have one suggestion though. Ryan already seems to be ot on the trail of one of the champions. You can't have ten chapters with him just walking around and battling wild Pokemon, because that would get a bit boring. However, if you make him find all the champions really quickly, the fic won't be too long. Make sure there is someone we can hate, however make it something we don't expect. Just make sure everything doesn't happen really quickly.

Well in response to mayor-don't worry I got it man-thanks for the response though! Do you like the story so far? But you asked me to go faster but not to quick? I have plans to make this story long in the time the charachter goes through, but I will skip like days and weeks by saying Ryan walked here blah blah blah...

And I had written the entire part 4 and I was finishing it up when my computer frooze (grrrrrrr) so I am going to now rewrite it but it might be a little speedy. Oh well

As soon as Jolteon was out Ryan had her go into it's mode of attack. "Jolteon agility now!" Jolteon began to zip around the clearing area. Moving very fast, Tanglea's vine whip attacks completly missed time after time. Jolteon moved horizontally back and forth to dodge the attacks, all the while moving closer and closer vertically to Tanglea. Ryan waited for the perfect moment, and when Jolteon was close enough he had her attack.
"Jolteon tackle attack now!"
Jolteon ceased changed it's direction and in a blink of an eye Tanglea was sent sprawling backwards. Tanglea was slow in getting up.
"Jolteon another tackle attack might do it!"
Jolteon had stopped it's agility manuever and ran at Tanglea to tackle it once more. Tanglea did not move out of the way as Jolteon approached. Jolteon lowered it's head in ready for attack, and at this moment Tanglea used it's vines to spring itself in the air. Jolteon's attack missed and Tanglea in midair sent a spray of sleep powder onto Jolteon. Jolteon fell onto the ground asleep. Tanglea sent out several vines and began to wrap them around Jolteon. Once it encircled Jolteon, it began to squeeze Ryan's pokemon waking it up.
This was the moment Ryan was waiting for. It had used this attack before on Hypno so Ryan was ready for it. "Jolteon use your pin missle attack!" The mass of vines around dissapeared as several sharp spikes flew away from Jolteon's body propelled by electrical charges. Tanglea's vines had several of these barbs in it and it wiggled these vines as if it was painful for the pokemon. "Jolteon let's finish it off with a Thunder Wave!"
Jolteon charged up and sent an electrical current through Tanglea's vines. This attack simply paralized the pokemon and had Tanglea fall to the ground. Ryan, happy that his first battle on this challenge was with a wild pokemon he could catch, drew out a empty pokeball. He tossed it and it his Tanglea drawing it in with a red energy beam. The ball hit the ground and began to shake around for a few seconds before it beeped indicating Ryan had a new pokemon. He walked over the ball and picked it up. Smiling to himself he congratulated Jolteon on a great battle. He let Jolteon run around for a bit. Since it was midday it was a good time for lunch. Ryan sat down and made himself a sandwitch. While eating his usual PBand J, he got to wondering how this Tanglea came on this Island, since his comp said something about this Island only housed flying pokemon. Not being able to answer his own question, he called out his new pokemon.
"Hey Tanglea I am Ryan your new trainer," Tanglea stood in front of Ryan. "I am going to make you much stronger than you are now, and to do this I will ask allot, but I will not ask you to do anything that I am not willing to do, sound like a deal?"
Tanglea reached up with it's vines and patted Ryan on the back with it. Ryan cheered inside his mind because ocasionally a pokemon who was recently caught would not listen to a trainer. "I was watching how you battled and I like your style, your vines are a great asset and I am sure we can think up many ways to use your abilities," Ryan then began to tell his new pokemon about the challenge he was on. As soon as he mentioned something about a master and him hiding on this Island, Tanglea became excited. Tanglea started to reach up into the trees to begin to swing. "Wait wait Tanglea im not that fast, do you think you could just walk there?"
Tanglea gave a nod and began to run west. Ryan followed hoping that his new pokemon would lead him to the master. They ran for about an hour before both became tired. They slowed to a walk for another few hours before Ryan decided to call it a day. He called out all of his pokemon and fed them. He introduced his newest member of the team to Charizard, since Hypno and Jolteon allready had the pleasure. Tanglea was frightened by Charizard, but Charizard made no threatening moves and Tanglea slowly grew to trust this huge pokemon and eventually was using it's vines to play with Charizard. Ryan watched his pokemon and smiled. His team was one unit, and he was a part of it. Ryan set up his sleeping bag and made himself a dinner. He sat down to eat, thinking about how he would train his new pokemon.
