Well done to all the winners, commiserations to the runners-up and thanks to all those who voted this year. We had a pretty good turn out amongst the voters; what was more remarkable about these Silver Pencils was the distribution of winners. 24 fanficcers won an award this year - so congratulations to all of you! Get out there and start bragging!

Two final points. Firstly, a massive congratulations goes to the winner of the Awards Award for the 2007 Silver Pencils - mr_pikachu! Brian absolutely swept these awards with a (probably) record eighteen awards scooped up, which are thoroughly deserved! Well done, Brian!

Lastly, it seems pertinent to note that these were the first Fanfic awards - at least, as far as I can recall - in which a non-human took home a Silver Pencil. So, one more time, let's hear it for The Dictionary!

Brian must be glad that his comic got so many awards, especially when most of the competition had a very different format. I think War of the Forums is a very original concept.

Congrats to Kalah and Kirsten for their awards too. They're well-deserved.

And I'm glad that we have 3 different "best new writers". It means the forum is getting an influx of new creative energies, which is a great thing considering how other areas of TPM are doing lately.

As for my fic, I'm surprised it got votes at all. I was convinced that no one was reading it. Or maybe they were nostalgic votes from a bunch of ex-readers? I'd really appreciate some input. I want to write, but I don't want to create something just to have it fall into the void of eternally unread posts. I don't know if that makes sense.

Well the whole Best New Writer took me quite by shock. I really have to say I am honored to share it with two amazing writers, both Orange and Goodnight. I really am stuned and have to say thank you to all that voted for Kachi and for myself. I started Kachi as just a short story to take my mind off of finals, the story being a stress reliever and nothing more. Now thanks to everyone who voted, and people like Perfect Chaos (who is amazing), who read and review it. The story has become so much more, and is now close to finish. So thank you all really, thank you ^_^

WotF really wasn't going to be so long, but it's blossomed into more than I could have ever expected. I thank you for that, Fanfic. If it wasn't for this forum, there would be no War of the Forums. You've given me both the drive to push myself and the basis for the fic as a whole, so thanks.

Oh... wow. I just cannot believe, cannot believe above the peak of disbelief, that I actually truly won. Ever since its creation in 2002, Minty Thrill has always been something of an also-ran, a runner-up, a nice try but better luck next time. I used to have a list of all of its nominations, but lost that when the old computer crashed. (Do we have the old awards archived? Pre- SP/GP even?)
So then, to arrive here, some five years after its creation, and to discover that it not only took a very convincing number of votes for best comedy, but for Tony Chambers to actually win two awards... Wow. Thank you all so much. It really, really does mean a lot to me. Just look at the way the first edition of the fic ended, I thrive on validation. lol

Thank you so incredibly much just for the nomination, let alone a couple of wins!! And thank you as well for allowing me to share in the funniest ficcer award, a personal triumph to know that people are actually taking note of my post-script ramblings.

I think it'll never cease to be a very nice surprise to find that I've actually won something in one of these events. :D

First of all, thanks for the Best Writing Style award for Communication. Being honored for one's own individual "voice" as a writer... that's a very cool, very personal sort of honor, I'd say. ^^ I also feel that the way a story's told is every bit as important as the story itself--heck, sometimes moreso--and so I'm glad to see that there are folks out there who apparently feel that I'm doing well in that respect. ^^

Thanks also for the Best Reader award--that's thanks not only to those who nominated and/or voted for me in that category, but also all of you who have been posting what I've been reading. If it weren't for you posting such enjoyable reading material, I couldn't have even been eligible for that award, much less win it, so thanks. ^^

*pokes* Where did that come from? Yeah, I know I try hard to post good critics when I do post on a fic, but I always feel that, no matter what I'm saying, I'm only avoiding to say "Nice chapter, looking forward for more"!
