Hello,

Welcome what happens In My Dreams, in the road of Houen. Prepare to read nothing like the TPM Community has ever read, as we embark on Patrick's journey (thats me ;)).

In My Dreams: The Road to Houen

“Father, Dark Hunters, they’re coming!” I said as I looked out my bedroom window into the dark night where a group of men and women in dark clothes walked towards our mansion. As always I looked out my window just to be sure they would never take the over my father’s mansion filled with his study of pokemon eggs.

I quickly ran downstairs where my father and mother quickly slid things into bags. Then we could hear banging, louder and louder on the door until it crashed down as a man dressed in black, led a group slowly in where we rushed to save eggs.

“Patrick, go get your egg and follow your mother, you’ll be safe. I’ll take care of these clowns.”

My father’s deep blue eyes stared into mine as a voice echoed out. He pushed me aside and I ran upstairs to grab my orange and red egg. As the five people walked in they saw me running down the stairs and stepped in front of me, forcing me to go up. My mother although had already gotten out with all the eggs except mine.

A dark man with black hair walked up to my father very close, almost hugging.
“Where is the egg Steve, you won’t be able to hide it from me any longer.” As he grabbed his shirt and raised him up, “give to me Steve, before I have to hurt you. Deoxys will never allow our failure, and you will be extremely in pain if you do not hand it over now!”

My father gulped and tried to spit it out as he was being choked. He was then let go and he spoke, “The Pokemon Council requested I give it them for safe keeping. Nobody is allowed near it, not you, not me, not even Deoxys.”

Suddenly, the man nodded and 5 pokemon came out, two being Mightyena, and the other three being Houndoom.

“Foolish of you Steve, now, your laboratory will go down, to be replaced by my laboratory.”

Steve then reached for a pokeball from his pocket. He released it to bring for a giant sea monster, Swampert.

All of the dog like pokemon jumped onto it biting into it as hard as they could as their trainers just laughed, as Swampert could barely move. Then, it began picking up and throwing each of them until they all lied knocked out. The men quickly returned them and stepped behind the leader of the group.

“Again Foolish of you Steve, you lose, now.”

He then pulled out his own pokeball that released to be a Cacturne that looked as it was raised very well. It quickly disappeared for a split moment as it was released; my father looked around and dropped to his knees seeming to already know what it was doing. Then, with my own eyes I saw it reappear with its hand on Swampert, where a green glowing came from it. As it released Swampert already tired, fell down to the ground shaking the pictures on the wall.

“Now, one is down, now you Steve, it your turn.”

I knew that I was supposed to stay upstairs, but I had to do something, but what could I do. All I could do was scream, “NOOO!”

Just as I screamed that my egg began to shine a bright red, as it began to open and out came two arms and a head. As it burned itself through the shell, I recognized which pokemon my father had saved for me, a Magby.

“Now, its your turn to feel the heat my friend.”

I walked down the steps where my father still sat on his knees, hurt and hopeless. I couldn’t deny that I felt hopeless too, but on the other side I felt unbeatable, like there was no way I was going to give up.

“Magby, Flamethrower.”

It shot out some flames straight at Cacturne, which sliced its right leg. I was in amazement as this was the first time I had gotten to battle. I was just thinking of reading about attacks of fire pokemon.

“Cacturne – Faint Attack.”
“Magby – Smokescreen.”

As Cacturne disappeared as Magby let out a cloud of smoke in which covered the house, making a perfect getaway for him and his father. As he dragged his father out the Dark Hunters walked away, yet again slowly. Nobody who had ever been attacked by these monsters, who walked like men, but again looked like monsters, understood why the walked so slow.

When I got outside my mother had the police by her side, and was being questioned. As I dragged my father towards her the police leader Jenny called for an ambulance, as it rushed in my father was quickly slid on the wheeling bed, while I helped my mother answer simple questions as, “What did they look like?” and “Did you recognize any of them?”

As I finally got a chance to examine my little new friend I searched through the many bags of my dad’s stuff and eventually found a pokedex. But, as I looked at the license on it, it wasn’t his, it was mine. I squinted as soon as I merely dreamed I saw that, until I realized it was licensed to myself, Mr. Patrick Tadolini.

They obviously hadn’t caught my picture on a good day, since my curly blonde hair was everywhere, and my eyes were almost closed. I just forgot about the license and aimed it at my Magby and found out what it was.

MAGBY: This pokemon is a baby pokemon, and has extremely powerful fire attacks. It also gives off 1100 degree flames. If it is in bad health, this pokemon gives off black smoke with its flames.

“Wow, I got a pretty cool pokemon.” I said to myself.

As I turned back towards my father, they were helping out of shock. I stepped up off the grass to be by his side where he was slowly pulling himself out of shock. He was trying to mumble words to be, but they were too blurry for me to understand.

My mother then pulled me back into our house where the room the fight took in was completely destroyed. We had a few police guards guarding doors or us incase they came back for more. I walked up to my room carrying Magby in my arms, who was already tired since it had fought through the egg to gain strength. When I got in my room I pulled out a few books and looked stuff up. Then, I found a picture of something I always dreamed of.

“Here Magby, this is what we are going to accomplish someday, becoming the Houen League Champion.” I said pointing to a trainer that had a Blaziken by his side, who had a shiny trophy.

As I turned to look at Magby its mouth was open, and its eyes were as wide as could be. I could tell it was now into the same dream I dreamed of every night. Suddenly, it fell asleep on my arms, so I just leaned back on my bed and fell asleep as well.

That night, I had a dream I would never forget.

I dreamed that I bowed before Deoxys, the powerful legendary. There the world had an all out war against Deoxys, his mind slaves, and three other images that were shaped exactly the same. On my side, every pokemon had gathered to take on this darkness of the evil as Deoxys. Behind Magby and me stood the leaders of light and kindness, Ho-Oh, Lugia, and every trainer battling to save the world.

Nobody had even seen Ho-Oh or Lugia before, so how could this be real. My dreams never were real, so I just went on to the next, the next, and the next until I ended up being woken by Magby.

“Ahh, no Dark Hunters, please don’t take me!” I yelled, being startled.

As I looked up my father and Magby were both staring at me oddly like I was crazy, even though I was. My father looked at me with a smile on his face and handed me an envelope. It had the words “Houen for Mr. Patrick Tadolini” on it. As I opened it I began to read it.

Dear Mr. Patrick Tadolini,

We are happy to tell you that you have been invited to come to the world of Houen, and experience the new Houen League that has just been organized. We have found and invited the newest and best trainers from around the world. You will be competing in this league with 250 million other trainers who have just started off like yourself, or are experienced trainers.

To get to the Houen League Finals, you must battle and defeat eight of our ten gym leaders. On doing this you will find that when each badge is put in a stack, it reveals a map of how to get to the league finals.

Finally, from your current position on our statistics, you will have to journey through Stone Cave to the dock where you will elegantly be transported to the Petalburg Woods. This is a one night, two day trip where you may lounge at our pool, or battle in the arenas.

After entrance to Houen, please locate the local Pokemon Center and register to be allowed to compete in the league. It will install data into your license, allowing you to go onto your first gym. But, if you are not interested in battling to get into the League, then we have arranged eight contests that you must rule victor at, allowing you to battle at the league, and compete in the final contest match.

We hope to see you in the league finals.

Sincerely,
Mr. John J Hall
President of the Houen League

“Awesome, I finally get to start my pokemon career. Hopefully I can train my pokemon, and stop those evil Dark Hunters so what happened to us last night will never happen again..” I said in excitement.

“Hopefully.”

Well thanks for reading, and about the flamethrower, Pikachu just started and knew Thunderbolt ^_^. This is kinda of anime style, not leveling up. Most fire pokemon use Flamethrower, so since Magby is "special" like Pikachu it can use Flamethrower so early ^_^.

Different is good though =D.

Nice start to your fic Cyndaquil7. I have nothing really interesting to say besides well done. :P Some things could be better, but hey we're human. Nice job and I look forward to the next chapter.

Really good start! Didn't expect a just-hatched pokemon to use a powerful attack like a Flamethrower. Besides some spelling/grammer errors, impressing start!

Keep it up.

That was a good start. SO far this is original with a Magby and the plot seems different with the Dark Hunters. This reminds me of Yu Gi Oh or how ever you spell it. I used to watch it and it had people like dark hunters after cards but in this there after eggs. Then with the puzzle thing they put together that elads to the tournement. I hope in later chapters you tlak more about why they want the eggs and what they are going to do with them. Again, good start and keep it up!

Wow thanks for everything guys ^_^

Mikey: Yeah, I always have trouble with first chapters x_X. Many things could be perfect, but I'm not perfect sadly =(. Thanks for reading ^_^.

Venasaur: Its unlikely I had spelling mistakes, but I'm not to swift at grammar since I'm 12, and got a 60 on my grammar test for ITBS =). Hopefully my spelling is good since I made it to the spelling bee quaterfinals for ohio =). I also want to point out since the eggs are cared for by a specialist and not Ash, they may breed more powerful =).

Tina: I also do watch YuGiOh, and got Deoxy's controlling this people as a nice little plot ^_^. You will for sure be hearing more about the eggs and why they are important. Eggs will be a major thing in this story, so hope you like em scrambled :D

Chapter 2 is looking good so far, you'll be meeting some characters (not main well maybe but characters) and I'll put in some late humor ^_^. I may just wait till Wednesday so maybe I can get a routine going?

I just noticed some grammar mistakes. But don't worry,I'm very bad too,so,I can't notify anything!XD.Anyway, keep it up!I'll be willing to read this Fic furthermore,it looks interesting!

Orion: Wow thanks for reading ^_^. I'm really glad I kept you interested. As said earlier, I'm not swift at grammar but this next chapter should be lots better.

UPDATE: Chapter 2 is completed, and isn't as interesting, kind of like Pokemon side quests, but I started on Chapter 3, and oh man its the best of the three for sure ^_^.

Chapter 2 up in like a few minutes ^_^.

Chapter 2: Cave Capers!

As the sun shined through the window, I grabbed my backpack and started sliding the pokeballs into the little compartment that was made for them. Its blue shiny side reflected right into my eyes that made it hard for me to slide in my clothes.

Once I finished packing up, I brought Magby down with me to my last breakfast for a long time with my family. My mom had cooked my favorite, pancakes with her homemade syrup. She had already set out a stack for me to get started on. I delightfully put them before me and sliced them up.

But, then I forgot I had to feed Magby. I pulled out the pokemon food my father made from my backpack and gave him a little bowl full. He sniffed out the first one until he decided it was good with a “Mag Mag.”

“So sweety, do you have your eyes set on anything you want to do before getting to Houen?” His mom asked kindly.

I just remembered that I didn’t live in the world of Houen. I figured most trainers would be advanced so I quickly replied, “ I think I will need to catch another pokemon before I get there, I can’t live off one on one battles forever.”

As I finished up the last bit of syrup on the piece of pancake, I stepped up to stretch, and then looked outside where the other three trainers had gathered. It was mainly people I knew. When I stepped outside the only boy besides me Ryan walked out to greet me, showing me his Aron. The other two girls who I despised, Christina and Sarah, had little cute pokemon like I figured.

I stepped up to them to try to get some small talk going, which usually ended up being getting yelled out for being sick for some reason.

“Hi girls, what pokemon do you have?” I asked calmly.
“Well, I got a Ralts, and Christina got a a a…” Sarah began to laugh so hard she couldn’t stop.

“Hoppip.” Christina said happily.

I heard a door close, which was from my house as my parents came out with boxes of tissues as we started to walk to Stone Cave. Myself, and the other kids were silent as our parents start crying before we even left. I never even think I seen so many crybabies in my life, except when I beat up Joey in the 2nd grade.

Once we saw the dark cave ahead a guard stepped forward and put a sword down, basically saying this is as far as non-pokemon trainers can go. I turned around to my parents.

“Well, this is it, I’m finally going on my journey. I’ll be back soon with my badges, and that trophy.” I said sadly.

“Your mother is having a hard time, but we just want you to stay safe, and make sure you four stick together in this cave, its very dangerous. Good luck son!”

We then stepped forward before the cave and released our pokemon. Magby and me along with Christina and Hoppip led the way in. As soon as we stepped in a door closed behind us.

“Oh god, Christina don’t you got the map?” Sarah asked.
“What map?” Christina replied.

Sarah looked like she was ready to die right there at the beginning. Until I nodded to Magby to get us some light so we could see. I waved my hand and we slowly walked forward. Every now and then we could hear little Zubats zoom past us overhead.

As the girls eagerly looked around, as they were both scared something would happen Ryan looked like he was excited being locked in a cave until the end. As we finally got to our first fork we took a little break.

We then sat down and rested for a tiny bit until Christina screamed and pointed. I quickly turned my head and saw two red eyes staring out at us. We got up and swiftly ran the opposite way.

“What do you think that was?” I asked.
“Something definitely not interested in being friends.” Ryan replied.

As we got to our next fork we saw many red eyes. We called up our pokemon as they jumped in front.

“Wait, please don’t attack!” A voice yelled into the echoing cave.

A young boy walked up with a candle that revealed about twenty Whismur and a few Loudred.

“Oh there you are Exploud!” He said in relief.

The big beast walked up behind us, obviously being the thing that scared us off earlier. It walked past and stood next to the young boy. He waved for us to come over to a campfire. We all sat around as he explained what he was doing in the cave.

“ I am indeed a fellow pokemon trainer, as I have been in these caves for weeks training with my Whismur which evolved twice into an Exploud. We are heading towards the cruise boat to take us to the Houen world, as you four must also be, but we can’t seem to get out of here. There is some big brown thing blocking the exit that won’t move. That’s why I need your help to get this thing to move, as me and Exploud are not powerful enough to make it budge. Oh, and you can call me Jared.”

“Well, if you can show this thing to us we might be able to help you out.” Ryan said, acting like he was the leader of our group.

We followed Jared for a long time that seemed like days through this moist cave. One Whismur kept following Magby and Me and would stop when we did acting like it was my pokemon.

“Hey Whismur, can you please cut it out?” I said firmly.

It gave a little cry and turned around. As we finally made it to our destination we quickly saw that it would be tough to move.

“Everyone Attack it!” Ryan said, not even thinking of planning out.

All our pokemon then shot out attacks barely even budging the beast. As I slipped out my pokedex I aimed it at this brown thing.

SLAKING: Slaking spends all day grazing and sleeping. It eats grass around where it lies until it cannot reach more, then it will go into a deep sleep for 2-4 days.

“TWO TO FOUR DAYS!” Sarah said in anger.

“My plan is if we all use strong attacks together we may be able to move it enough for us to escape.” Jared said getting ready to order his attack.

“Magby – Fire Punch.”
“Aron – Headbutt.”
“Hoppip – Razor Leaf.”
“Ralts – Confusion.”
“Exploud – Hyper Beam.”

As the pokemon raced in attacking it got banged and gave a cry almost rolling over as the pokemon kept powering in more strength.

“We need more power!” Jared said.

As he said that a little pink Whismur that once followed our group jumped in giving a Pound right in the heart, knocking over the pokemon on its stomach making it clear for us to run out.

“Lets go!” Jared yelled.

I just stood there staring into Whismur’s eyes, knowing that I had to capture it. As I thought it was just what I needed on my team to be able to progress well.

“Patrick, come on before it rolls over!” Jared yelled out again.

“Magby – Ember.”

Magby shot little embers out at Whismur, which made it give off a nice pound attack right at Magby knocking it back.

“Magby, give it a Fire Punch.”

As Magby ran into close range Whismur jumped in the air to attempt a Stomp attack. It flew in they air to be slammed back by Magby’s Fire Punch.

“Pokeball Go!”

It slid it in and started to shake very fast. It then started to slow down until it stopped. I quickly ran over to grab it and run out just as Slaking was turning over again. I grabbed the pokeball and jumped over with Magby on my back.

“Wow, did you capture it?” Ryan asked me.
“Oh yeah.” I replied.

A loud horn rang as I turned around to see a gigantic cruise ship ready to take off. We ran through sand to the dock where we quickly got on and went to information desk. I said my name to the lady and she gave me my number room.

I looked to see if any of my hometown friends had waited for me, so I just walked to room number 1046. I opened the door and saw my roommate, and believe it or not it was Christina and Hoppip.

“Oh, you.” I said dully. I could not believe I had to now live for two days with this girl, as I couldn’t even express how much I had hate for her.

But maybe things could change.

That was a ok chapter. I am glad everyone does not have regular starter. You had ok description. You could have added a bit more like on what the ship looked like as you were running towards it and also what the cave looked like. The capture was good. You can't really have a big battle with a Whismur. Keep it up!

[u] Chapter 3: The Seaside Shocker /u]

“Oh, hi Patrick. I guess its you an me.” Christina said as I dully walked in making a scene.

I just smiled and set down Magby next to Hoppip, and started to pull stuff out of my bag. I found Whismur’s pokeball attached to my belt and decided it might as well get some fresh air too.

They all happily played around while I just sat on my bed talking to Christina. It was already very late, so we decided to take a trip around the ship. As we walked around we passed the arenas where an Electrike with its trainer being sort of a “bad boy” versus a little boy and a Rattata.

The little boys pokemon was getting crushed so I kind of felt sorry for it. I always hated that some people had to beat up on the weak.

“So, I’m hungry, maybe we can catch Ryan or Sarah for some dinner.”

As we walked by we passed so many trainers, I was overwhelmed with excitement, as I was looking for a battle. When we finally got to the dinner section I quickly ran ahead to get some food. They had so much food it was amazing. I loaded up my plate with Buffalo wings, chicken legs, salad, pasta, and sausages.

I turned around to look for where to put Magby and Whismur and amazingly found that they had a room where I could keep them to eat. I set them in with a number of pokemon like a Growlithe, Pidgeotto, Aron, and Ralts.

After seeing the Ralts and Aron I figured it was from Ryan and Sarah, so I quickly looked around to find that Christina had already found them.

“Hey Patrick, sit down, we saved you a seat.” Ryan said.

I sat down and quickly digged in to my elegant meal. It was so tasty that I was dying for more, but instead talked to my friends while I drank a Pepsi.

“So, anyone ready to go to sleep besides me?” Sarah said.

I looked around at them as I held my head up only with my hand, trying to not collapse sleeping.

“Well, I’m going to go to my room, so I can get some stuff in tomorrow.” Christina happily said.

She went into the pokemon playpen and grabbed Hoppip and walked off, so I decided I might as well go back too. When I got to the Play Place, Magby and Whismur had made good friends with Aron and Ralts. As I returned them both and headed for the hall I saw the guy with the Electrike was talking to Christina, which she did not look too happy about.

As I walked closer I could hear him talking, “Hey, how bout you come to my room sweetie.” He said with a cocky manner.

“Maybe we can share my deluxe sweet, cause you looking fine over here.” He again said.

“Umm, maybe not.” She said trying to walk away.

He then grabbed her, so I knew I had to jump in, I ran up towards him and pushed him into the wall. Everyone turned to watch, as he slid me onto the table, knocking all the food off on top of me.

I jumped back up and tried giving him a few punches, until he stopped and started to talk.

“Hey kid, how bout we decide where she stays in a pokemon battle, two on two.” He said greedily.

All I could think about was how it was my first battle, and I wasn’t so sure of myself. Could I beat this punk with his Electrike? I knew I couldn’t say no, so I replied, “Sounds Good.”

As we walked to the arena we went into the clay one where he pointed for me to stand on a blue box, which as soon as I stepped on it rose high into the air. I quickly thought as he tossed a Voltorb out onto the field. I decided as I pulled out a pokeball from my backpack.

“Pokeball, Go!”

It slid open revealing my newly captured Whismur, and its pink little body. I knew it would be ready to fight, as I started ordering my first commands.

“Whismur – Sing!”
“Voltorb – Thunder Wave.”

Whismur jumped into the air singing some weird music that I found it must have been listening to my CD player. It sung it through the air towards Voltorb putting it sound to sleep while it built up the Thunder Wave energy. It didn’t let it go so it hit itself with the Thunder Wave shaking it up a bit, almost awakening it.

“Go get it Whismur – Pound!”

I watched as Whismur skillfully pounded Voltorb on the side rolling it into the wall hard, waking it up. Voltorb very angered, charged up electricity using a powerful Thundershock hitting Whismur hard.

“Come on Whismur we got this, finish it with a Take Down!”

Whismur sped up running up towards Voltorb while it charged up more electricity, as Whismur jumped towards it, Voltorb sent another Thundershock at it right when they met attacking each other.

They both fell to the ground with swirly eyes.

“Aww, lucky shot little kid, but you won’t be so lucky with my best pokemon.” He said grinning at me.

I just returned Whismur thinking how great it did against a good pokemon for its first battle being my pokemon. Once I looked up the scoreboard seeing a Whismur and Voltorb blacked out on the screen, I knew what I had to do. I knew what I was up against, probably the toughest pokemon I’d face so far. Doubt filled my mind, but I had never felt stronger. I had to win this last fight to save my “friend”.

“Electrike, show him the power of electricity!”

Electrike appeared on the field, and it already had little electric currents surrounding its body. I gulped and pulled out Magby’s pokemon. I already knew what it was capable of, but I didn’t know if it could pull this one off.

“Magby, let’s go!”

Magby appeared on the field looking tougher then I had ever saw it. It had a look of determination on its face, but just the same kind my father’s Swampert had when it was defeated.

“Electrike – Tackle!”
“Magby – Scratch.”

Both pokemon ran zigzagging towards each other ready to attack. They both jumped at each other and ended up locking up with each other doing a fight of brute strength.

“Electrike – Agility.”

Electrike unlocked itself and moved behind Magby quicker then light, and tackled it to the ground. Magby looked very hurt already, but it had to keep fighting.

“Magby – Scratch!”

They repeated the same thing again locking up on each other, ending up Electrike tackling it from behind. I couldn’t keep on going on like this, I wasn’t even thinking through my attacks, but just thinking of the quickest way to defeat Electrike.

I just thought of an attack that might win the match for me, Ember. Last time Magby used it, flames surrounded it and then attacked the opponent.

“Magby – Scratch.”
“Electrike, Tackle then Agility!”

There it happened again Magby and Electrike locked up on each other then Electrike came up from behind using Agility.

“Magby – Ember!”

Magby surrounded itself with flames, that Electrike tackled right into, and then they all flew hitting Electrike.
It soared down to the ground, knocked out.

“Red trainer is the winner!”

I won, my first match, my first fight, and my first save. As I was lowered down to the ground the punk ran after Christina, until a boy stepped in front of him with a Dratini.

I could not believe whom I just saw.

Next chapter going to be great, as we meet a very interesting person, and find some dark hunters on the ship.

X Tina: Thanks, i'm glad it is back too!

NEXT CHAPTER IS AWESOME! It explains so much to us about new stuff and new people.
