Heya folks! This is "New Era: Darkness in the LIght". First of the New Era series. Rated PG-13.

While I'm writing, I'm listening to music. I'll be posting what kind of songs I'm listening too. Especially this first installment. The song is from the movie "Titanic". The song's name is "Southhampton".

The story will sound confusing at first, but you'll understand what is going on later one. I promise. I'm even done with the whole series, so you'll be reading the whole series by the end of the year.

Anyways, there are a new species in this story. I tried as hard as I can to describe them to the best of my abilites. All I can say is that they are the size of a horse, longer necks, and have a body built like a lion or a tiger. Their heads are shaped like a horse, but more beastly like such as a tiger or lion. Some have wings and some do not. Some talk and some don't. They are known as honkers. Baby honkers are known as honkens. So, that is best I can do for now in describing them.

Well, without stalling, here is "New Era: Darkness in the Light":

In the mist of the Atlantic Ocean, in the darkness of the Earth?s shadow, in a night of a new era, the Earth revolves around once more to add an extra day to a never-ending story. Slowly the Sun casts light over the Atlantic Ocean to greet a new glorious day to Shizo.

An island that stands alone in central part of the ocean. Its Alaskan-size captivates the space travelers as they look down at the X outlined by the mountain chain. Travelers from all sorts of countries come to visit the island?s wonders. Unlike any other plants, creatures, buildings, and customs that they have, Shizo was like an Utopia world filled with hope, pursuit of happiness, and freedom. But unlike any other country, Shizo does have its flaws that can cause many dramatic events.

In the central part of Shizo, the mountain chain circles around a futuristic city unlike any other. The buildings made totally out of marble, wood, or brick, the rooftops are rounded and not pointed like a modern colonial home, and the transport was only by horse and buggy; no cars, buses, or plains were allowed on the island.

The city arcs around a huge palace made entirely out of marble. It towers over the rest of the buildings, and very easily spotted in a far-off distance. Light blue, white, gold, and silver coloring shines from it as the huge orange sun rises over the grassy green hills in the background. Many shades of blue conquered the peaceful sky as the sun rises slowly, and the stars slowly dispersed.

Green umbrella-like trees planted around and against the palace moved along the gentle warm morning breeze along with the red banners planted against each building, and the huge red flag with a white creature spreading its large wings from one side to the other, and a golden crown with a red rose in the center circle around the white creature ? it was the Shizoian National Flag.

Outside one of the homes, an elderly man wearing his red and black army uniform was playing the bagpipes at the flagpole in the center of the city. Many people awoke with the soothing sound of the instrument, and watched as the flag waved along with the gentle wind. Some were saluting to it, and others where humming, oh-ing, or ah-ing to the music. Younger children were holding to their parent?s hands, and some children were carrying pictures of their lost relatives.

At the palace, at one of the large balconies, many white thin long curtains moved gently as a woman wearing a white sleeping gown with long curly blond hair, carrying a newly born baby rapped in a white blanket and snuggled nicely in her arms, appeared. She slowly walked to the center of the balcony and watched the colors in the sky changing from dark blue to an orange, red, purple color. She was singing the same tune that the bagpipe player was playing to the baby. She sang no words. Only oo-ing.

A man wearing a white robe and with short brown hair was entering the balcony. He wrapped the red belt around his thin waist, and came from behind his wife. He slowly kissed her on the cheek, and looked down upon his child smiling. At that moment he moved up against her side, slowly wrapping his right arm around her back, and slowly petting his child's cheek.

Meanwhile, a couple of miles away from the city, at a large rocky cliff, a brown and black winged honker was sleeping at the edge of it, on top of the green grass, and curled up like dog or cat. As the sun rose higher above the hills and palace, the sun?s rays beamed on his eyes, and caused him to squint a little. He slowly moved his head away from the sun?s light, and slowly opened up his eyes.

When they were opened, he took a deep breath of the fresh morning air, and got up. He stretched out his horse-sized, lion or tiger built, muscular, fit, body like a cat, digging his dark claws into the soft dry ground, and opened up his mouth wide enough as he yawned. The brown wings spread as he stretched them out.

A feather went loose, and followed along with the gentle wind. He watched the brown feather with a white and black tip flying around him, and then towards the sunrise. Watching the sunrise, he noticed the royal couple standing at the balcony watching the same thing. He couldn't help it but to smile.

As a minute passed by like a second, he turned around and headed to a lonely tree just before the sloop turned into the endless meadow. He found his light brown cow-boy-like hat -- made especially for him -- hanging from a branch. He bit down at the edge of it, and made it flipped into the air, and it landed on top of his head. His curly black bangs were showing, and strand of it dangling over his left eye, and his horse-like black ears fitted perfectly threw the slots built into the hat.

Just before he was leaving, he looked at the sunrise once again. A gust of wind blew around him. His black, curly, long horse-like tail followed along with it, and so did his black, curly, long horse-like main. He closed his eyes as he felt the wind messaging his body, and titled his head up towards the sky. As the wind slowly disappeared, he smiled once again, and turns to head down the sloop, but before he took his first step, he heard someone or something running up towards him. He moved his left ear towards the direction of the sound, and figured who it was just by the sound of the noise.

He turned his head to see a honken about the size of a beagle running in the tall grassy meadow. The honken was jumping all over the place to see over the tall grass, but a younger white winged honker following behind it picked it up by using its mouth, and carried it to elder honker.

The elder honker smiled as he noticed that it was his little sister making all the noise, "Gaia," he said, "Shouldn't you be sleeping right now?"

The younger honker placed the light blue honken with white ram antlers on the ground right next to him, "Big Brother!" she cheered excitedly to see him, and rubbed herself like a cat against his right front leg, "Remember you promised!"

The younger, average dog-sized, honker lay on the ground, and sighed as if Gaia exhausted her. Her wavy, long, light brown tail and main followed along with the gentle wind just like Big Brother and Gaia's white tail and main. "She woke up early this morning, and had to wake me up to take her to you," she said exhaustedly.

Big Brother smiled at her as the sun's light made her white horn in the center of her forehead sparkled, "Sorry about that."

"Big Brother!" yelled Gaia impatiently, and jumping for his attention, "You promised me that ... that ... that ... you will tell me a stoorryy!"

"Yes Marius," the younger honker said as she smiled upon him, "You did promised our sister that you will tell her a story."

Marius sighed. He knew that he promised to tell her a story, but he wasn't sure enough if he was emotionally ready to tell it. His other younger sister, Rose, stood there watching him looking at the sunrise. She knew that he wanted to tell it, but not sure if he should do it that day. "Marius," she said to break the silence, "It is best to tell it now. You will feel much better afterwards."

Marius looked at her, nodded, and then glanced down at the anxious little Gaia smiling. "Well," he said just before he grabbed her by the flabby part of the neck, and slowly placed her on his back as he lay slowly to the soft ground to make himself comfortable. "What kind of story do you want me to tell you today?"

Gaia moved her lowered jaw to the side as if she was thinking which story she wanted him to tell, "Well," she paused to think what story, but she couldn't think of anything. "Tell me a story about ... about ... um ... our family and friends."

"Family and friends?" questioned Marius as he didn't know any stories about that topic.

Gaia nodded her head, "Yup. Tell me a story about kings, queens, friends, family, and legends."

Marius looked ahead at the sun rising. He knew what she was talking about, and he was afraid that this day would come. For how young she was, she wouldn't remember any of it, but she would find out sooner or later. "Well," he said, "Where to begin?.."

* New Era *
Darkness in the Light

It wasn't a day like any other. Even though the skies were pure blue, the temperature was perfect, and the clouds looked white and puffy like marshmallows taking on different shapes, something about this day was different. It was the day that Earth soon to realize that they were no longer alone.

In the streets of Beville, a capital located on the shoreline of lower West Shizo, the red and white buildings were decorated with thousands of different kinds of colorful banners. Hundreds of people were hanging out of their home windows waving the Shizoian National Flag while cheering at the crowds below.

The crowds down by Beville's main street were gathering up along the sidewalks to witness an event that would be written in history books. Along the limestone road, a parade was taking place. People from all over the island, and not just Bevillians, came to see this spectacular parade.

Leading the parade were the flag and banner carriers. With them were huge puppets being maneuvered by people on stilts. Following behind them were the captains and generals from West, East, North, and South Shizo riding on their horses, and waving to people.

They were dressed up in a red thick jacket that looks like from the Revolutionary War, and black dress pants. Each one had on different badge to symbolize their status and location. Even though Shizo was separated in four providences by the mountain chain, it was still one nation.

Afterwards a marching band from Beville Academy was playing one of Shizo's National Songs. The flag corps was waving around huge white and gold flags, and the dancers were carrying a white banner with a sparkling gold crown drawn into it.

Up above in one of the buildings, in the fourth floor, three nine year old children -- two boys, and one girl -- where fighting over the binoculars. They were practically hanging out of the window so they can see a better view of the parade below them.

"Give me that!" cried the boy with short messy brown hair, "Gwen! Give it to me!" He grabbed on to the binoculars from her, and yanked them out of her hands.

Gwen -- wearing a pink dress with white tenner shoes, and had her brown hair into a pony-tail -- suddenly started to get teary eyed, and bawled as if someone has taken her lollypop. "You are so mean!"

Entering the children's bedroom, a twenty-year-old woman with shoulder length, brown, curly hair entered the room with three other binoculars. She heard the children arguing earlier, and figured it would be best, for her, to fetch the rest of them.

She handed out the two binoculars to Gwen, and the other boy with messy blond hair and wearing a white dirty t-shirt and blue shorts, "Here you go Adam," she said nicely as she handed a pair of binoculars to him.

Jake took the binoculars from her, and excitedly looked threw them to watch the parade on main street. Gwen was having a hard time with hers because she had them backwards, and the other boy, Jack, wanted to jump out of the window to get a closer look.

The lady grabbed a hold of his blue shorts, and pulled him back inside the small bedroom. "Jack, I swear if you had a chock chain on ya' I'll still loose you. So please stay inside the house."

Jack turned around to the lady, "Jewels, you know you want me."

Jewels lightly slapped him up against his head, "In your dreams. Now watch the parade."

Gwen dug into a little clear bag filled with different colored graffiti, and tossed them into the sky along with everyone else in Beville. Thousands of graffiti, strings, balloons, and noisemakers filled the sky as the parade continued.

"I like throwing paper into the air," Gwen said as she kept throwing the graffiti.

Jewels smiled as she watched Gwen having fun, "How adorable!" and then looked threw her binoculars and watched as a huge white and golden buggy with five different people sitting in it. The buggy was being pulled by six white horses, and the people sitting inside it were waving to the citizens.

"They look weird," commented Jack as he watched them waving at the people, "Their hair looks funny because they have different colors."

"Look!" yelled Gwen, "One of them has pink hair! I want my hair to be pink!"

"Okay strawberry head," Jack laughed as he heard Gwen wanting her hair pink.

Jewels split the two apart before either one of them started to do something crazy, "Okay, that is enough you two."

"Jewels," Adam said as he watched the buggy full of strangers with different colors of hair, "Who are they?"

Jewels glanced threw her binoculars once more, "They are from another planet. You see there is Captain Plut from Pluto, Nep from Neptune, Veni from Venus, and Uni from Uranus. Their cruse spaceship wrecked in Shizo's bay, and the royals are housing them until the ship is repaired for take-off."

The three children looked flabbergasted once they heard people from different planets were here. Of course for many years there had been controversy about Area 51 containing alien life, but now that there was proof of existence everyone was glad that they were no longer alone in the universe.

After the stranger's appearance in the parade, the main event had begun. The Empresses and Emperors of Shizo were riding in their white and gold buggies, and greeting their citizens.

Gwen was the first to point them out, "Look guys!" she yelled excited as she pointed to the first royal buggy that was being pulled by eight horses, "It's Empress Rawlly from East Shizo! Doesn't she look awesome!" She glanced at Rawlly's short white and light blue dress, "She dresses so pretty," and then she examined her brown curly hair, and gold terra.

"She looks cute," commented Jack, and then he noticed a buggy carrying a male with a blue and silver long dress coat and has brown short hair with blue bangs, "Now I want to be like him. Emperor Mateo! Emperor of Southern Shizo!"

Jewels rolled her eyes at Jack, but before she could have said anything she watched as the next buggy came into vision. It was carrying an empress wearing a white long dress, and a white and gold-feathered cape. "Look guys! It's Empress Farore! Our leader!" Then she started waving at Farore.

As Farore's buggy passed the house, a huge white and gold buggy being pulled by ten white horses came following behind her. Sitting in it was a man wearing a white tux, and attached to it was a white long cape with a golden symbol behind it. A huge golden necklace around his neck sparkled as the sun?s light hit against it. He was also wearing a white and gold Ancient Egyptian headdress, but instead of the vulture and snake, it was a golden crown with a large white crystal in the center, and many different small colored crystals circling around it.

"Whoa!" Adam said as his eyes got bigger in surprise, "It's Emperor Enrique from Northern Shizo!"

Gwen, Jewels, and Jack quickly had drawn their attention to Emperor Enrique's opened-buggy. He sat there waving at everyone as he rode passed. Then they realized to his side there were two honkers standing up. One was dark red and the other was black with a little bit of brown and white around his body. Both of them were wearing a white cape that covered up all of their body, but not their wings. The red honker had red, white, and golden-feathered wings, and the black honker had black, white, and silver-feathered wings.

"They are his protectors!" said Jack as he looked closely at their necklaces that look similar to Enrique's.

"Sir Knight and King Honker," Jewels said as she named them, "Two out of eight legendary honkers. These two show themselves more than the others for some odd reason."

Gwen grabbed her clear bag and tossed more confetti, "Long live Shizo!"

Adam just continually watched the emperor's buggy go pass the house, and said to himself, "I wish I had protectors like Enrique."

The parade ended with Emperor Enrique, and slowly everyone went back to his or her daily routines. Jewels kept the window opened, but she decided to shut the screen-window for reasons that Jack wouldn't understand. Gwen, Jack, and Adam handed her their binoculars, and crawled into their individual beds. It was still daylight out, but Jewels had them take a nap.

"Jewels," said Gwen in a tiring tone, "When will our parents return home?"

Jewels sat down right next to Gwen to tuck her in, "In about two weeks." Then she kissed her on the forehead, and attended to Jack ?who was already asleep-, and then to Adam, "It's time for bed Adam."

"But I can't fall asleep," then he paused for a minute as he looked up at the ceiling at a poster of the legendary honkers, "Do you think I will even train a legendary honker?"

Jewels chuckled a little bit, tucked him in, and kissed him on the forehead, "Go to sleep Adam. We'll discuss this later."

Adam closed his eyes, and Jewels slowly walked out of the bedroom and closed the door behind her. She leaned up against it, and looked up at the white ceiling, and then to the mirror up against the wall. Her young Chicano appearance, the tanned smooth skin, and the hair reflected from the mirror.

She sighed, and headed down the row of stairs, and outside the building. Close by there was a bench. She headed towards it, brushed off the graffiti, and sat down to watch the cleaners cleaning up the mess, and then looked down the main street to the palace in the distance.

Chapter One

"Emperor or None"

"There will come a time sir when you say to yourself 'Hey! I want some fresh fruit damn it!' and all you get is a fruit smoothie," quoted a man wearing a black tux, and entering a rectangular balcony above four stories above ground.

Another man -- looking like he was sixteen years old and still young for his age -- turned around from facing Beville city in the distance. "Miguel, you amaze me. You must've read my mind."

Miguel placed the fruit smoothie on top of a small glass table, and stood there while watching the other man taking off his Ancient Egyptian-like headdress/crown, placing it on the glass table, and grabbed a hold of the cold glass.

"All in good times your majesty," Miguel answered while bowing.

The guy took a sip and stood there with a disgusting expression. His cheeks were puffed, and left hand gripping tightly on the white hay woven chair. His hand shook violently, and dropped the glass. It shattered to thousands of pieces on the cream marble floor.

"Emperor Enrique?" said Miguel in worriment, "Are you choking on a beverage?" Then he stood straight up, looked calm, and just watched Enrique making a full of himself, "It is highly impossible sir to choke on a beverage. That is, unless, there is a bug or something. But if you insist to die from choking on a beverage, you will be known as the first Emperor to die from a smoothie."

Enrique's eyes widen, and then spit the smoothie all over Miguel. Miguel just stood there while grabbing a piece of cloth, and drying his suit off. Enrique bent over to catch his breath. He looked at the floor, and noticed a hand full of maggots crawling all over the place. He stood up in disgustment, and examined Miguel's suit. There, swarming near the pocket, a maggot clinging to life.

Miguel watched as Enrique wanted to choke Miguel to death, "Fresh fruit? Did you purposely put those in my drink?"

Then before Miguel can answer, a women with brown wavy hair, maroon eyes, and wearing a black business dress came running out to the balcony and pointed fingers at Miguel, "Ha! I got ya' didn't I! And you thought you were smart!" Then she walked besides Enrique, and practically almost leaned up against him, and nudged him, "So, Miguel, how did those maggots taste like? Can you taste the pink slip as you almost thrown up on Enrique?"

Enrique turned to look at the lady in seriousness, "They were disgusting Maroon, but nice try."

Maroon wanted to die. She has been trying to get Miguel fired for the longest time, and never succeed. "Please don't tell me you knew Miguel?"

Miguel smiled happily for his achievement, "You bet ya' babe!"

Maroon lowered her head, walked away from Enrique and Miguel, and left the balcony. Miguel stood there taking a deep breath while smiling, and Enrique sat down on the white woven chair, waiting for Miguel to say something.

Miguel finished celebrating his victory, pulled out a papyrus look-a-like scroll, and handed it to Enrique, "This is your schedule for today sir."

Enrique grabbed the scroll, and placed it on the table. As the sun rose above them, the temperature rose dramatically. It wasn?t humid or sticky out, but warm enough that made him took off his white cape, jacket, and he untucked his white dress shirt. Afterwards he unraveled the scroll and looked at his schedule:

12:30pm - Meet with the Mayor of Beville
2:00pm - Meet with Western Shizo's Supreme Democratic Council
3:30pm - Prepare speech for the arrivals of the Newcomers
4:30pm - Dinner with Empress Rawlly and Farore, and Emperor Mateo. Honored Guests: Captain Plut from Pluto, Emperor Nep from Neptune, Prime Minister Uni from Uranus, and Veni Princess of Neptune and Empress of Venus.
6:30pm - Announcement to the world about the Newcomers
7:00pm - Celebration

He read the whole entire schedule, and sighed each time he add up how much free time he has to himself or to walk around. "Zero free time," he said in a soft tone, "Miguel, how good of an Emperor am I?"

Miguel looked confused, but figured that it was a stage that Enrique was going though, "Lets just say sir that you are named one of the longest reigned Emperors in history."

Then Enrique smiled crookedly, "And would you do anything for your Emperor. I mean, after all, you are my Ambassador."

Miguel figured what Enrique was trying to do. He quickly looked worried, and dropped to his knees, "Please sir! Don't you even think about it! I'm begging you!"

Enrique got up from his chair in a flash; messing Miguel's shoulder cut, black, curly hair as he walked by, and walked into his room. A huge room with a huge bed with tons of thick red and white blankets, eight large windows up along the side where the balcony was at, a huge closet, and a couple of ceiling fans. The room looks like it is about two stories high, and the size of a regular home.

Enrique took off his shirt, and began fishing out his layback shirts from his dresser drawers. Miguel came walking in the room worried of what was going to happen to him, but there was no stopping Enrique. He had his heart set out to go on a short, safe, and exciting adventure.

"Please sir," pleaded Miguel, "Please reconsider. I don't know what I'm going to do without you here. I don't know what kind of speech you want me to say, and I surely don't know how to explain all of this."

Enrique threw another shirt, and it landed on top of Miguel's had, "Just make up something. Say that I had to go home for something, or better yet, say that I had to go home because I need portfolio for my speech, and I won't be home till later on tonight."

"What kind of excuse is that?" questioned Miguel as he took the t-shirt off his head, and dropped it on the floor. "What is in it for," but before he said anything he watched as Enrique fished out a black dress shirt, "Oh, wear that sir." Miguel sounded like he had A.D.D. at that moment.

Enrique closed the dresser drawer, stood up, and looked at himself in the mirror. He straightened out his brown spike hair with some white in it. Then he placed his hands on the brown top, and looked at his body. "For how old I am," he said as he looked at his teenage, well-built, tanned body, "I still look young."

Miguel walked across the room, lit the fireplace, and sat down on royal red leather couch, "You and everyone else in the palace sir."

Enrique looked back with a semi-smile, "I guess that just makes us lucky."

"No sir," Miguel replied back, "We are blessed."

Enrique laughed a little and looked back at the mirror. He put the black dress shirt on, and unbuttoned the first two white buttons. Then he walked to the opposite side of the room, right next to the bed, and pulled out another drawer for a pair of pants. He found a pair of blue jeans, and he decided that they should do.

Miguel turned his head around just so he wouldn't watch Enrique put his jeans on, but he found Maroon standing at the large bedroom entryway. She looked like she was slobbering and panting over all of this, and enjoying every second. Of course, Miguel found that this was the perfect time.

"Down dog!" he yelled out like a dog trainer would yell like.

Maroon was frightened and ran away from the entryway as Enrique quickly looked to see what was Miguel yelling at. He buttoned up his pants, and put his tux dress pants on his bed, "Who was that Miguel?"

Miguel turned around and answered calmly, "Just a stray sir."

"Really?" Enrique said as he walked past Miguel, and didn't realized that Maroon was watching him, "Maybe you should have someone call the dog pound."

Just when Enrique said that, Miguel jumped out the couch and practically walked as fast as he can to Enrique's office across his bedroom. "Right away sir!" he said excitedly as if he wanted Enrique to say this for a long time.

When Miguel left the room, Enrique was fixing his collar. He looked up again at the mirror to take one glance of himself. He looked like any other person in Beville. As he straightened up his dress shirt, he turned around and there was his dark red protector at the entryway.

"So, you are planning on going to Beville and look for some fun?" said the creature as he walked up right next to Enrique, and looked over his shoulder. "What will Rawlly, Farore, and Mateo say about this?"

Enrique answered, "I'm hoping that they won?t notice me sneaking out, Honker."

Honker laughed a little, and turned around so he can lay right next to the fireplace, and he did. He curled up like a dog, but he was still awake. "Well then. Good luck."

Enrique took a deep breath and headed out of the room. He first checked both ends of the hallway, and saw no one. Slowly he crept along side of the brown wooden walls, and leaned up against the wall as soon as he made it up to the corner. He heard someone walking his direction. It was Farore leaving her room, and heading to her throne room.

He quietly and slowly walked back to his room, but before he took his first step he bumped into somebody. He froze like a cycle, but then relaxed as he saw Honker's head moving in front of his, and checking to see if anyone was around.

"Honker what are you trying to do?" whispered Enrique.

Honker made Enrique move to his bedroom and answered while they were sneaking back to the room, "I'm your protector. It?s my job to protect you, and that is what I'm going to do. Even if you are going to get yourself into trouble."

As they entered back into Enrique's room and running back to the balcony, they stopped to look at the city once again. They checked out the futuristic look, the red buildings, the hundreds of people walking in the market streets, and thousands of them hanging out on the main street. Most of the people were tourists to take pictures of the palace that was located high on a hill that can be mistakenly be a small mountain.

"Well," Honker said to break the silence, "Are you sure you want to do this?"

"There comes a time when you need a break from politics and heroics," Then he looked up at his protector, "This is my time."

Honker smiled and nodded. He crouched down so Enrique can get on his back as if Honker was a horse. When Enrique settled himself on Honker?s back and held tight to his black, red, white, and gold main, Honker spread his huge wings and flapped them a couple of times. Within a second Honker was off the balcony and they were off to Beville City.

I hope you guys enjoyed it. I'm currently 1/2 finish editing the second chapter. I'll be posting it sometime this friday. Thanks again for reading it.

I've been wanting to read this all week, but haven't had a chance till now. I like the Honkers. You're right, you do have spelling errors, but I'm willing to overlook them. :) Overall, it's quite an interesting story. Shizo sounds like an Atlantis-type place, but with all kinds of contemporary Earth references. You may want to clarify when this story takes place. The main problem I noticed was that you tend to switch between present tense and past tense as you tell the story. Other than that, nice job.

Yes! A reply!

Thanks for reading and repling Suite Madame Blue. I really appriciate it. Anyways, yeah, my spelling and grammer sucks. So, that comes to no surprise for me. And tenses, yeah, I suck at those too, but if you may, may you please point out the ones that I used the most?

As for an Atlantis-type place, I never had thought of that to tell you the truth. I know what Atlantis is, but not once I thought about it when I wrote the story. Thanks for pointing that one out too. Come to think about it...it does sound like Atlantis, but more modern.

Also, thank you for the coment about honkers (the species with a lower case "h" because the main character honker is Honker with a capital "H"...just to clear up the confusion).

Thanks again!

The next chapter should be up tonight as planned. I just need to reread it and check it...again. This time I hope I catch most of the spelling and grammer mistakes.

Adios!

Wow, a wonderful and original story, Tutankhamun. This is the very first story which I feel the same ambience from my story. It also reminds me of a story my friend wrote some time ago. Very similar plots. Yet, his story was FULL of convention errors. This one has a few but they are easily ignored. Do not fear as they will pass eventually! ;)

Chapter Two

“Main Street Battle: Part One”

Meanwhile, in a dense, hot, humid, jungle located in Western Shizo, close to Central Shizo, ten scientists were walking along the dirt trail, and the leader was chopping as much vines as he could.

“Doctor Stephen,” said one of the women scientists following behind him, “Are you sure this is the way to the temple?”

Doctor Stephen continued onward, “My dear, the map specifically says that the temple is this way. Close to the Lunar Mountains.”

A women scientist following behind Doctor Stephen’s wife sarcastically laughed, “Please! I can’t believe that you are following the Morganna Corp’s map! The thing is a joke!”

“Doctor Dion, I assure you that this is the map to the temple,” he yelled back while waving an old, ancient, brown map above his head with his left hand, and chopping down the wines with his right.

“We should have asked for directions before we entered the jungle a week ago,” commented another women following behind Doctor Dion while fanning herself by using a huge green jungle leaf, “What is wrong with asking directions eh?”

Her husband pinched her from behind, and pushed her for them to keep up with the gang, “Claire Russio! Shut up and continue walking!”

A women walked passed everyone else and caught up with Doctor Stephen, “So why is Rosie Morganna, the multi-million dollar American, funding this project?”

He looked at her for a second as if he did not want to tell anyone about it, but since she asked he had to, “Rosie Morganna wanted to us to resurrect an ancient being by using one of Shizo’s best technologies. Afterwards we are suppose to send the creature to her.”

The continued onward for hours, and finally Doctor Stephen found something blocking a path. A huge rock statue that looked ancient. Dozens of green thin vines circled around it and covered the statues whole body, but all except its face. It was a face of a honker.

Doctor Stephen and everyone else slowly walked up to the statue and circled around it. Carefully they tour the vines away from it, and throwing them behind them. Bit by bit the statue revealed itself as a winged honker lying on a duplicated alter.

“Do you think this has something to do with the temple?” questioned Doctor Dion.

Doctor Stephen kneeled down to check out the ancient markings carved into the stone, “Whatever it is,” he said while feeling the carvings with his fingers, “We are close by. I can feel it.”

Meanwhile at Beville, Adam, Jack, and Gwen were walking the Market Street in Beville. Thousands of people were gathering around hundreds of different type of food and supply stalls. Many of them were bargaining, as a few were stealing. The three were at the bread stall, but there was one particular stall that caught Adam’s eye.

“Look!” yelled Adam while pointing at a stall where a huge, dirty, fat man was bending down to pick up something that he dropped. He wore a small white t-shirt with meat stains all over it, and pants that were tight and look like they didn’t fit on him.

Gwen and Jack turned around, and noticed the man’s crack. Both of them twitched and covered their eyes. “Why Adam! Why must you do that!” pleaded Gwen, “I’m still young and beautiful!”

Adam looked confused, but once he notice what they saw he too look disgusted, “Ew,” he said to himself, but once the guy left the stall to grab something in his house behind it, Adam pointed again at a cage with a mightyena sleeping inside it, “That! That is what I want you two to look at!”

Jack’s eyes widen in happiness, “A mightyena! A real one! From the Heon Region close by Japan!”

“Yup,” agreed Adam.

Gwen took the opportunity to check out this mightyena that she never saw in her whole nine-year life. She was drawn to it like a little girl drawn into a lollypop. “Oo! I want one!” She said, as she got closer to it.

“How ‘bout we take it,” whispered Jack as he and Adam followed behind Gwen, “We can snatch it right underneath the clerk’s nose!”

Adam smirked at the idea. “I want a mighyena,” he said in return, “I want one so I can battle against the legendary honker.”

As all three of them made it to the cage, the mightyena woke up, and started wagging its big black tail in happiness. Gwen stood by it and watched for the clerk just in case he came walking out on them, Jack watched Gwen’s back so he can look out for the soldiers, and Adam grabbed the key from the top of the cage and tried opening up the door. The mightyena waited impatiently for its freedom.

A minute passed and Adam finally opened the door. The mightyena came running out of it, knocked Adam onto the sidewalk, and begun to lick him. Gwen and Jack jumped for joy, but then the looked up to notice the angry clerk with a brown baseball bat in his hand. He didn’t look too happy.

“Come here brats!” he yelled out while waving the baseball bat.

Adam got up from the sidewalk, Jack and Gwen are already running, and mightyena made Adam ride on its back. Together all three of them regrouped, begun running threw the dense crowds, and knocked each person that was in their way. In some cases, they even ran underneath a person. Following behind them was the clerk chasing them with his baseball bat.

“Can you run any faster!” screamed Jack from behind Gwen.

Gwen continued bumping into people, and tossing anything that was in her way, “I’m sorry! But he can’t catch up to us! He is fat!”

“Hey!” yelled Jack as he tossed a basket of chokobo eggs aside and caused them to break, “Fat men can run!”

Meanwhile, Enrique was at a sandwich stall. He handed the lady clerk a couple of gold coins, and received a huge sub sandwich. Just before he even sink his teeth into it, he noticed two kids running up to him, and a kid running on a mightyena coming towards him. He quickly moved out of their way and watched them turning at the intersection that leads to Main Street.

He figured that they were having fun so he was going to take another bite out of his sandwich, but before he even opened his mouth the clerk chasing the kids bumped into him, and made Enrique land on his face on the white brick street.

Honker – who was lying on top of one of the four story houses on Market Street – laughed as he watched the clerk ran Enrique over, and stealing his sandwich. “Well, he did want to live a life of a normal person.” He continued watching the clerk chasing after the kids, and almost toppled over as he took a sharp turn at the intersection.

Enrique slowly got up from the street alone, and brushed himself off. “If I ever catch that clerk I’ll…” he said to himself, and once he looked around for his sandwich he was even more angry, “Damn him! He stole my lunch! And I paid ten zin for it too!” Then he begun to chase after the clerk.

Honker stood up, stretched a little like a cat or dog, flapped his wings, and took off to follow Enrique to see what kind of trouble he was going to get himself into.

The chase was on at Main Street. It wasn’t as crowed as Market Street, and much more decorated with Shizoian Trees (trees that are umbrella shaped and have red and golden roses blooming) and colorful hanging banners from the red futurific buildings as if they were hanging on a close line from one house to another.

The three kids continued running away from the clerk, and finally lost him. Jack and Gwen leaned up against one of the Shizoian Trees so they can catch their breath. Adam got off of the mightyena, and begun petting it. The mightyena enjoyed it very much, and licked him once more.

”I think we lost him,” jinxed Jack as he straightened up.

“Give me the mightyena to me brats!” yelled the clerk once more as he turned around the intersection and finally caught up to them.

The three quickly turned around so they can start running, but there, standing before them, was Enrique. He didn’t look too happy either. Also he noticed the sub sandwich that the clerk was holding on to. “Give me that sub and no one will get hurt,” demanded Enrique in a calmed down angry tone of voice.

The clerk smiled greedily as he held up the sub to his mouth and bit down at it, “What? This?” he questioned while chewing with his mouth opened.

“Oh that’s it!” Enrique said while rolling up his right, black, dress-shirt’s sleeve, “You’re going down!”

The clerk begun to laugh as he bit down at the sub once more, “Ha! You think you can beat me you skinny wimp!”

Enrique’s eyes widen as he heard the word “skinny”. “Skinny!?” he yelled, “I’ll show you skinny!” Instead of rolling his left sleeve, he ripped off his shirt to show off his pectoral muscles and six-pack. “Come on chubby! I’m goin’ to take you down! No one messes with me and my sub!”

Adam and Jack’s jaw basically fell to the floor, as Gwen was swoon by this whole masculinity fight between to two; however, she was cheering for the cute guy. Honker, on the other hand, landed in one of the biggest trees on the street, hid inside the thickest parts, and laid on top of the thickest branch. He sighed in disbelief and shook his head, “Enrique you sped!”

The mightyena jumped in front of Enrique just before he could have done anything. The creature barked, and prepared itself for a battle. The clerk laughed, “Please! You can’t battle! That was why were sold to me! I was going to use you for, well, unnecessary things!”

Enrique felt bad for the creature as it bowed down its head to the limestone pavement. “Really?” said Enrique as he thought of something to cheer up the saddened mightyena, “Lets say we have a battle. I’m sure you have something to battle against me.”

The clerk continued laughing, “A battle?! Ha! That’s kid stuff!”

“Fine then. I guess you are a wimp,” Enrique said as he turned around with a huge smile upon his face, “I guess I can take mightyena with me, and you will be, um, mightyena..,less.”

The clerk stopped laughing and pondered about the deal that Enrique was coming up with. He reached for his pocket and grabbed a red and white ball. Then he tossed it in the air, and yelled out as the white light flashed when the ball opened, “Go Blue Eyes White Dragon!”

Adam, Gwen, Jack, and everyone that was gathering around this argument between Enrique and the clerk backed away and hid behind something as a huge silver, metal-like, dragon appeared from a small ball. Enrique just stood there, unafraid and calm, with his arms crossed as the creature blew a puff of air right at his face.

The creature roared once more and everyone ran away as far as thy can. Some climbed up the trees, some hid in their houses, and a few stayed in the streets to witness this battle on Main Street.

“So,” the clerk laughed once more, “Do you surrender?”

Enrique laughed and answered, “I should be asking you that question.” Then he looked back, and noticed Honker smirking evilly and nodding. “I call upon Hoooo…” he dragged out Honker’s name, and remembered that their identity should be kept secret. “I call upon Amun-Ra! Go!”

Honker came flying out of the tree and roared. His lion-like roar scared everyone that hid in and outside of the tree. He continued flying up to Enrique, and landed in front of him. It had been awhile since Honker fought in a battle like this. For how small he was compare to the Blue Eyes White Dragon, he has a lesser advantage but he didn’t allowed that to stop him.

“Go Blue Eyes!” yelled the clerk as he pointed right at Honker, “Use fly and then white lightening attack!”

The silver huge dragon let out another loud roar, and took off above the city. As it made it over the building, it gathered up a lightening energy ball in its beak-like mouth, and released a silver-lightening beam at Honker.

Honker stood there as the attack charged directly at him. Enrique just stood there waiting for Honker to do something. It looked like to everyone watching the battle that the attack took forever. They figured that the Blue Eyes automatically won the battle because it was one of the strongest duel monsters in the world.

Suddenly the attack hit Honker directly. A cloud of white light blinded every one near the battlefield. Most of the banners flew off the strings that kept them hanging from the blast, and few people even flew a couple of feet away from the battlefield.

As the light slowly disappeared, every one slowly reopened up their eyes and noticed Honker still standing, unharmed, in the center of a doughnut crater. His main and tail followed along with the gentle wind, his head looking up at the large creature, and his large wings are not even opened; they are tucked in like a swan’s wings.

“How?” questioned Adam from hiding behind the closest tree, “How did Amun-Ra managed getting unharmed?”

”I dunno,” answered Jack from hiding behind Adam, “Maybe it used an absorb attack.”

Gwen showed herself from behind Jack, “Maybe it is stronger than Blue Eyes. It’s possible.”
Mightyena barked as if it agreed with Gwen while it showed itself behind Gwen.

Honker took a deep breath. He closed his eyes and visioned the Blue Eyes flying in a clouded white realm. As the Blue Eyes attacked Honker once more, Honker absorbed the attack, and collected the power from the dragon.

Finally he opened up his eyes when the dragon finished its attack. As the smoke cleared up, Honker opened up his huge wings. Every one gazed at the large feathers. The dark red from the fur changed into a light red, then to white towards the middle of the feather, and then to pure gold at the tips. His wings glittered in the sun’s rays, and wooed everyone there; even the clerk.

The Blue Eyes didn’t moved, nor didn’t care by the show that Honker was giving. It attacked once more, but Honker counter attacked it. He gathered up white energy in his mouth, and formed it into a huge white volleyball-sized ball. Just before the white lightening attack was close to him, Honker released a white beam with red flames swirling around it.

The attacks collided in mid air. Both attacks formed a huge ball mixed with white silver lightening, and red and white flames. As the ball got as big as it can get, it exploded and let out a huge seismic wind. Hundred of people around the battlefield, in their houses, in the trees, or even those who were minding their own business in Market or Main Street ended up flying a couple of feet and landing into a stand, tree, building, or even the fountains or on the street.

The explosion left a huge smoke cloud that any one can see in a far away distance. Farore was watching the whole battle from her balcony, while Jewels was running up to the battle site to see if Jake, Adam, and Gwen were there. But as to who won the battle? No one doesn’t know for sure.

Hey, wait a minute! Blue Eyes White Dragon?! Nobody said nothing 'bout no stinking crossover! Hmmm, I predict...Honker wins the battle, and Enrique blows his cover. Great chapter!

:rotfl: I loved that exchange! :rotfl: But all the female scientists questioning the guy's sense of direction? We're not THAT bad!

Maybe I'm being nitpicky: You put your description of the Shizoian Trees in parentheses, when you could have just described them in one or two sentences. Are they the same trees you mentioned surrounding the palace in Ch 1?

As for your spelling mistakes, they're mainly homonyms. Main instead of mane, and threw instead of through are the ones that stand out. No spellchecker's gonna catch those!

Anyway, I'm really enjoying this fic. Nice job!

Thanks for the reply Suite Madame Blue! So far you and Neo-Xantios are like my favorite repliers in this story! Anyways, yeah, I'm really bad on homonyms. Every time I reread my chapters, I really don't catch them...so that is why I like critisizm.

Also, as for the trees, yeah they do look the same in the previouse chapters. I usually repeat myself so the readers can get what they look like because soon they are going to mean a great deal of importance.

Thanks again!

PS...as for directions...yeah...women are not THAT bad heehee.

Wow, a cross-over among other Japanese creations. Intriguing. The introduction and the first chapter seems quite solemn to me, but chapter two was a hub of laughter and it seems to be from an entirely different story altogether. This fic is very promising and I won't be surprised if this wins.

Now there is still some errors of tenses. Remember to put all descriptions in past tenses.

Thanks for replying Neo! There will be times when the chapters will be solemn and then funny. I'm even thinking about starting a small "episode" story for my characters. Nothing major. It will be something just for fun to read, and (I hope) loads of laughter. But, like I said, I'm thinking about it.

Anyway, thanks for replying! =D

Well, here is my next chapter!

Chapter Three

“Main Street Battle: Part Two”

The brown smoke, which was left behind from the explosion, slowly cleared away. The onlookers slowly got up from the ground, fell down from the trees that they landed in, and a few crawled out of the fountains and watched impatiently for a result.

Enrique stood by a Shizoian tree with his arms crossed. Within minutes he noticed Honker’s side and his right wing semi-opened. As the brown smoke started to thin out to nothingness, Enrique watched Honker spreading his wings wide once more, and then noticed a dark figure of a dragon standing on the ground.

Behind the dark dragon, the clerk got up from the street, brushed off his all ready dirty shirt, and moaned from his impact. “Damn that honker!” he cursed loudly so that everyone can hear him, “Blue Eyes! Use white lightening attack on that damn creature!”

The dragon was too weak. People heard its shallow breathing and watched as it quivered. Then they looked at Honker who was standing there patiently with no scratches over his body.

“Attack you moron!”

The Blue Eyes gathered up energy in its mouth, but Honker did not allow the dragon to continue. He quickly pounced on top of the dragon and sinking his fangs into its neck. The Blue Eyes roared in pain while moving its head and neck from side to side to get Honker off.

Enrique smiled, “Okay Amun-Ra! Finish the metal piece of trash!”

Honker stopped biting the dragon. He stayed wrapped around its neck with his claws dug into it to keep his balance. He closed his eyes for a second, and quickly reopened them. His eyes turned from the original red to a pure bright white.

The dragon felt its power being drained from it. The people, the clerk, and Enrique watched as silver-like clouds appeared around the dragon’s body, and flowing into Honker’s.

“What attack is that?” questioned Gwen from behind Jack.

Jack was too flabbergasted to even answer, so Adam answered for him, “I think it is absorb attack, but it looks different from the last one.”

Enrique overheard Adam and Gwen talking. He turned around and noticed the three little kids pretending to hide behind the Shizoian tree behind him. “It is one of Amun-Ra’s special abilities. When the opponent is weak, he is able to drain out their powers till they pass out. Usually it is their signature or main moves. In this case, it is Blue Eye’s white lightening attack.”

Honker finished up draining all of Blue Eye’s power, and used it to his advantage. His body glowed brightly and begun to spark, and soon enough he shocked the Blue Eyes. The dragon violently shook, and within a second he was on the ground passed out.

The clerk was not too happy with the outcome of the battle. He quickly through a fit and started kicking anything that was around him. The crowed cheered for Enrique and Honker’s victory. Adam, Gwen, Jack, and mightyena ran from behind the Shizoian tree and headed towards Honker. As for Honker, he jumped off of the fainted Blue Eyes, and watched as the children from everywhere running up to him.

The clerk grabbed a hold of his red and white ball and called his Blue Eyes back. Enrique walked up to him and stopped as he reached six feet away from the clerk, “What is your name sir?”

The clerk growled as he answered, “My name is Thénardier, and what is your name stranger? It isn’t everyday that a commoner like yourself owns a powerful creature like Amun-Ra.”

Enrique sniggered, “Really? Well you must not get around much then.” Then he turned around to congratulate Honker. As he did, he noticed a dozen of children playing with him. A few were jumping on his back as if he was a horse, a few were pulling on his wings, and a couple of girls were braiding his mane and tail as if he was a doll and they are his beauticians. Meanwhile, Honker was just lying on the street looking miserable.

“He looks familiar,” stated Jack from pulling on his mane as if he was trying to tell him to getty-up. “He looks like the legendary honker.”

Gwen –who was braiding his mane – answered, “Yeah, you’re probably right. Look at the rows of spikes on his neck.” She stopped braiding his mane and glided her fingers down the three rows of black spikes that started from his forehead, down his neck, and ending at his shoulders.

Adam jumped off Honker’s back and walked up to his head. Carefully he picked up Honker’s head from the ground, and examined it. His head looked three times larger than Adam’s, so Adam’s hands kept shaking because of the weight. Honker looked scared and confused at the same time. He was wondering what the boy was going to do to his head.

“Are you the legendary honker?” he questioned to Honker in a soft tone hoping that Honker was the legendary honker.

Honker could not talk or else he would give himself up. All he did was forcing himself to purr and hummed. Enrique, on the other hand, can answer for him. “No, I’m sorry. He is a very rare honker. And, yes, he does look like the legendary honker.” Then he looked at Honker, “But more stupid.” Honker just responded by a growl.

Meanwhile, Jewels finally made it to the large group on Main Street. She pushed tons of them aside just to get to where Adam, Gwen, and Jack were. As she made it, she pushed Enrique aside and hugged Gwen, Jack, and Adam at once. As for Enrique, he landed in the crowed, and, luckily, they caught him.

“What’s the big idea ma’am?!” yelled Enrique as the crowed helped him with his balance. “Next time just say ‘Excuse me’!”

Jewels looked back at Enrique with the ultimate stare. The brown eyebrows were in a “V” shape, the eyes squinting, the red lips tightening up, and the chin moved up a little. It was her “don’t give me that attitude stare”. Most of the men in the crowed turned away from the powerful glare that she gave Enrique, and he couldn’t turn around; he was drawn into the stare.

“Who do you think you are!?” Jewels demanded, “Coming over to Main Street, starting a battle, damaging our street, and messing with my kids! I should and will report you to the authorities!”

Enrique marched up to Jewels and stared right at her. He didn’t want to be messed with. “Listen here you commoner! I was not..”

“Commoner!?” screamed Jewels in shock, “Who are you calling a ‘commoner’? Aren’t you a ‘commoner’ too mister!?” She pushed Enrique further away from her as if she expected a fight, “And what is you name?! I have decided to report you to the police!”

Enrique gasped, and along with the crowds, that she pushed him, but he realized that he shouldn’t push her back because if he did then she will call the police, he will get caught, and once they find out that he was an Emperor of Northern Shizo there will be chaos. All he could do was lie.

“My name is John Luther! And what is yours?”

“Jewels. And I’ll leave it like that.” Then she walked up to Adam, Gwen, and Jack while Honker got up, from the street and walked to Enrique’s side. “You must be from Northern Shizo.” She said in an observational tone.

Enrique, again, was in shock, and almost had a heart attack. He was afraid that she guessed who he was, “Yes. Um, how do you know that?”

“Easy,” she responded back while crossing her arms, “Your accent. It sounds like an American trying to speak British, but it sounds more American.”

Enrique raised one eyebrow, “I see.” Then moved his left lips up as if he was smiling, “And you must be from Western Shizo, which is obvious, because you seem to have a Spanish accent.”

“Indeed.”

“Okay then. Then I must get going.” Enrique beckoned Honker to come along with him.

But just before they even turned around Jewels yelled out, “Hey! What about the damage that your honker caused!? Don’t even think about leaving here without paying.”

Enrique sighed, “Fine. How much is it going to cost?” He sounded as if he was getting tired of Jewels. All he wanted to do was to adventure out in the city, get a sub, eat it, and go back to the palace before Miguel rips his hair out.

“Oh a lot! But I’m sure you can’t afford it because you are a commoner like the rest of us,” she replied. “Or unless you want to settle this in a duel like last time since you seem to only make bargains by fighting.”

“Is that a challenge?”

“It’s more of an invitation. If you loose you have to pay and clean up the mess you made here.”

“And if I win?”

“Then you don’t have to pay. Simple as that.”

Enrique pondered about the deal. He liked the fact that she was making a deal with him, but he didn’t like the fact that he had to pay for the damage that Honker caused. Even though he can afford it, it was just the fact that he doesn’t want to get caught.

“Fine then,” Enrique said while beckoning Honker to get ready, “I accept your challenge.” Honker just stood there while rolling his eyes. He didn’t want to be involved in this quarrel.

The crowed cheered once more. They kept chanting “Amun-Ra! Amun-Ra!” and the other half, where Jewels was standing, kept chanting “Jewels! Jewels!” But Gwen stopped the cheering by yelling out, “Stop!” Everyone got quite and watched the little girl waving her hands between Enrique and Jewels. “I have a better idea!” Then she looked at Jewels, “If you loose then you own this mister an apology, and if you win he has to take you out on a date! Plus the other bet that you guys made.”

“Gwen?!” Jewels said in surprise, “I don’t think so hun!”

Enrique smiled evilly, “I like that idea. I’m with the bet.” Then he looked up at Honker and whispered, “Which wouldn’t matter anyway because you are going to win. So, don’t screw this up!” Honker sighed in response.

Jewels looked up at Enrique. She couldn’t help but realized that this man had guts. “Fine then. If you are confident that you are going to win, I guess I’ll have to agree.”

Then she grabbed a hold of Gwen’s arm, and slowly walked her to Adam and Jack who were in the crowed all excitedly. She turned around and watched as Honker moved up in front of Enrique. “Okay then.” She paused for a second, looked up at the clouds moving over the sun above her, “I call upon Maria! The Saint of Fire!”
Just as she said that there was a circular ring of fire moving up in front of her. Honker and Enrique watched it, as it got bigger like a miniature tornado. The wind started to pick up and the flames flew all over the place. The crowed had to back up, Jewels just stayed where she was as the same with Honker, and Enrique shielded his eyes with his right arm.

The clouds up above started to swirl around the battle site and begun to look gloomy, they darkened, and thickened. It seemed like they were close to the ground, and creating a huge tornado, bigger than the F5, over the miniature fire tornado on the ground.

Suddenly the crowed, Jewels, Enrique, and Honker heard what seems like a lady singing. She was singing an ancient hymn. Only Honker knew what the lady was singing, but he could not figure out where the singing was coming from.

Soon enough, he noticed a honker, about the size of him, flying in the middle of the dark clouded tornado. Her red wings moved elegantly, the red long peacock-like tail moved like small waves on the ocean, her black mane gentle moved along with the wind, and her red fur was longer and seemed softer than Honkers.

She landed on top of the mini fire tornado, and it slowly dissipated. Once she landed on the street she finished her song, and waited for Jewels to give her the first command. Honker examined more of her. He glanced at her red eyes, her glittery wings, and to her paws that were covered in black fur. He could not even see her claws.

“Alright Maria! Give him your flamthrower!” Jewels command by pointing right at Honker.

Honker looked back at Enrique, and Enrique only nodded his head, “Go ahead. Show her what you got.”

Maria took a deep breath of the fresh air, and exhaled fire out of her nose. Honker dodged the attack by jumping and staying ten feet above the street. He returned fire by doing the same exact attack Maria did, and she dodged it just what Honker did.

“This isn’t getting anywhere,” Jewels said to herself, “Maria! He is going to keep using copycat! Try another tactic! Use fire tornado!”

Maria landed back on the street and begun flapping her wings horizontally. The wind gathered up in front of her. A small fire-like red tornado formed in front of her and charged directly at Honker. Once again, Honker dodged it by moving to the right. As for the fire tornado, it dissipated before it reached the crowed that were surrounding the battlefield.

Before Maria used the same attack again, Honker charged right at her. He used his head as a fierce attack, and hit her right in the chest cavity. She did not go far; however, she was knocked onto the street and skid a couple of feet.

“Maria! Please get up!” pleaded Jewels, “I can’t loose this bet!”

Honker landed on the street in the middle of the battlefield. He watched Maria trying to get up from the ground. Yet, he did not realize that his attack was that painful; he did not even try. But once he noticed Jewels pleaded to Maria to get up and looking upset, he looked at Enrique. He was sanding there all confident and arrogant. It was then that Honker decided to pull a stunt.

Just as Maria got up on all four legs, Honker rolled back his red eyes, closed them, and fainted. He landed on his left side just so Enrique can take a good look at him.

Enrique was flabbergasted, “What the?! Amun-Ra! Wha!? How could?!” Then he noticed Honker opening up his right eye and blinked happily. “Damn you!”

Jewels, on the other hand, jumped in excitement. She ran up Maria and congratulated her by reaching up to her head, bringing it down to her face, and kissed her on the forehead. Then she walked up to Enrique and waited for him to say something.

“Alright,” he said as he gave up, “You win. I’ll pay for the damage and take you on a date.”

Jewels didn’t even crack a smile, “Tomorrow night then.”

“Tomorrow night!?” he said he response, “I can’t go tomorrow night! I have something to do tomorrow. I’m booked forever!”

“So you are going out on the bet?”

Enrique groaned, “No. Tomorrow night it is.”

“Good.” She turned around and headed towards Gwen, Adam, and Jack. There, she noticed, a mightyena hiding behind the kids, “And who do we have here?”

Gwen moved aside to reveal the creature’s frightened face, “Can we keep her? Please?”

Jewels smiled and petted mightyena, “Sure, but you guys have to take care of her.”

“Sure thing!” Adam, Gwen, and Jack said at the same time.

Jewels chuckled as she watched the kids trying to figure out a name for mightyena, but someone in particular already figured out a name for her.

”How about Cosset?” yelled Enrique from afar.

Jewels turned around and glanced at Enrique where he was rubbing Honker’s chest area, “Cosset?”

“Yeah, it sounds like a nice name. Isn’t that right Cosset?”

The mightyena jumped frantically. She wagged her tail excitedly, barked, and ran up to Enrique to give him a lick in the face. Enrique caught her when she jumped over Honker and pushed Enrique back on the street.

“Don’t worry,” Enrique said quietly while looked into her eyes, “Your secrete is safe with me.”

Cosset licked Enrique’s face once more and ran up to her new owners. Gwen, Adam, and Jack were already on top of Maria while Jewels was waiting for Cosset. She watched Enrique helping Honker getting off the street, and laughed when Honker toppled on top of Enrique and squishing him.

As the sun was setting over the ocean horizon, the street lamps turned on, everyone were in their homes for dinner, and the sky turned into made shades of purple, orange, and red, Jewels and the kids were almost home from a long day. Gwen, Jack, and Adam were still riding on Maria’s back, Cosset was following in front of them, and Jewels was lagging behind them.

“You are going to have to wear a dress, look pretty, and I can put make-up on you,” Gwen said as she kept going on and on about the preparations for Jewels’ date.

“Don’t make her look like a clown!” Jack said from behind her. “This is her first date. She has to look dazzling!”

“Wow, a big word for a kid,” Jewels said in response to Jack’s “dazzling”.

“Shut up!”

Meanwhile, Enrique and Honker were walking side-by-side on the Main Street, and heading towards the palace. Enrique realizes that he was going to get into deep trouble because he missed and damaged loads of things.

“Farore is not going to be happy with me,” Enrique said in worriment. “She is going to have my head on a platter.”

Honker looked down at Enrique, “You shouldn’t worry about her. You should be worry about the date tomorrow night. You are going to have to sneak out of the palace again, get on Jewels’ good side, and, lets not forget, take her out someplace to eat.”

Enrique chuckled a little, “Oh that’s easy. I’ll just get her a …”

Honker interrupted, “No subs!”

Enrique looked up and laughed. He petted up against Honker’s neck, and the two continued down the long, wide, limestone paved Main Street. The two were two peas in a pod. Nothing ca not get in their way. Together, they were unstoppable.

“Also, please keep your shirt on next time.”

I hope you guys like it. It isn't as funny as the last chapter. I just wanted to end the battle so I can actually start the plot. I'll come again later to check for errors as usual.

You gave us something to think about: Cosset has a secret? And I'm starting to like Jewels' no-nonsense character. I also like the way you described the accents for different regions. Putting it in a conversation like that makes it sound more natural than just writing "he talked like an American trying to sound British." You've obviously put some thought into your world. Nice job, good chapter in general, good to see you alternate between funny and serious. It makes for a balanced story.

You still need to work on verb tense agreement. I also noticed -ing endings when they should have been -ed. Sorry if I'm being too picky (not the first time I've been accused of that), but spelling/grammar is my obsession! :sweat4:

Thanks for replying SMB! =D I really appreciate it! I truly do! I'm glad that someone sees that I put a lot of work into this world. To tell you the honest truth, I spent eight years on it. I can even remember writing my first small fic about Shizo, and I still have it, and it is dated so that is how I know how long ago it was.

As for my errors, I'm also glad that you are helping me out with them (and the same goes with Neo ;) ). People can't realize their own mistakes until someone points them out to them. So, note to self, -ings to -eds, and descirptions in past tense. I'm not a huge grammer person, as you can see, and I really never got any better at it, but I'll try, I promise =) . It is like what Neo wrote, "Do not fear as they will pass eventually" Also, I really didn't look over the last chapter. I found tons of mistakes such as "I" should've been "You". Opps :sweat4:

As for balanced story, I like to put funny in my chapters just so I can't bore the reader if you know what I mean. I would really like this fic to go far, and for people to enjoy it.

Other than that, besides that I feel like typing so don't mind the long reply heehee, thank you so much for replying! I hope you will enjoy the next chapter.

Ah, that was a decisive chapter. You're full of surprises, Master Tutankhamun; I didn't expect the seemingly simple Jewels to wield the Great Flames. Enrique seems naive though.

I hope to see a good development on your characters especially on Enrique. Luck is at times treacherous, so I give you much hope.

Thanks Neo! You are only seeing one out of many sides of Enrique and Jewels. And Enrique being naive? I guess so. I didn't really think about him being naive. Thanks for pointing that out =D ! And, yes, I'm always full of surprises ;) .

Thanks again for replying Neo. It means a lot.

PS. You can just call me Tut ;)

One thing I keep meaning to ask: you seem to have plenty of Latinos/references in your fic; are you Latino yourself, or do you at least speak Spanish? It's just curiosity on my part, and I don't mean to pry. Just so you know, I'm not Latina, but I started studying Spanish when I was 5, took it all the way through high school, and even majored in it in college for a while before I burned out and switched to something else. My Spanish is pathetically rusty now, but at that time, I was fairly fluent. The Latino aspect of your fic is quite intriguing and original.

Sorry to post again before your next chapter is up - this is your thread, after all. I've just had that topic on my mind, and knew that I would forget later on.

Please, by all means, post as many times you want in the topic. I know this is sorta off subject, but, this does have to deal with the fic.

To answer your question, no, I'm not Latino. I used to work with mexican immigrants and took spanish throughout high school and in college. It is really nice to know a second language because it does come in handy. Do I speak it fluently? Sometimes. It just depends what kind of mood I'm in

Enrique, the character in the story, is also my nickname. Originally it was going to be Santiago if my spanish teacher allowed me to continue that name throughout high school; however, she had to pick my name, but I started to love it, and soon to be known as "Enrique" to everyone.

I also like ancient egyptian culture, but that's a whole entire different story ;)

Once again, thanks for reading!

Chapter Four

“Bringer of the Apocalypse”

That same day, after the scientists found an ancient statue, they found themselves outside of the jungle and into a meadow. Together they bent down to take a breather from climbing up a large hill. The heat was still killing them and the sun made it much worse. It could be because they wore heavy khaki shorts, shirts, and some wore heavy hats to match their ensemble.

Doctor Stephen, the leader of the expedition, was about to start giving up his search for this temple. The only thing that kept him going was the fact that if they find what they came for, they would receive a bonus from Rosie Morganna. A wealthy woman in America who specializes in new technology and even clothes line call Fashion Boss.

Doctor Dion, a good friend of Doctor Stephen and the same age, walked up to him and offered some water that she had. “Stephen, I think we should turn back. I highly doubt that we are going to find this temple.”

”I know its here!” he answered as he refused the drink. “That statue lead us here!”

Mr. Russio laughed hysterically as if the heat got to him, “Ha! Please! You can’t even read Ancient Shizoian! The only people that can read and speak it are unknown! Maybe they are no longer living for all we know!”

Mrs. Russio slapped her husband behind his head, and left him rubbing it as she walked up to Doctor Dion and Doctor Stephen, “I wouldn’t pay any attention to that moron. He has no sense what-so-ever.”

One of the scientists that kept quiet though out the journey spoke up, “Folks. Listen please.” Everyone turned around to look at her, “I’m sure the legends are true and Doctor Stephen knows the way.”

“Why do you say that, Mrs. Santana with a Ph.D.?” questioned Mr. Russio as he rubbed the back of his head.

She smiled and pointed ahead of her, “That.”

Everyone turned around and noticed a temple appearing in front of their very own eyes on top of a lonely hill. They were all flabbergasted to watch the church-like, brown, stoned temple slowly appearing like a mirage. Surrounding it were jungle trees, bushes, and all sorts of colorful flowers.

Everyone slowly walked up to it, and looked up at a huge honker over the entrance. It’s head look straightforward towards the west where the sun would be setting over the jungle, the large wings tucked in, and, unlike Honker, this one had two rows of spikes down its neck, curly mane and tail.

“Is it?” questioned Doctor Dion still in shock.

Doctor Stephen nodded his head with a huge smile, “Yes, my friends, this is the great honker of the night sky and the holder of shadow power, Knight.”

“Well then!” yelled Mr. Russio from behind the crowed, “What are we waiting for? Lets go inside!”

Everyone agreed and walked up the flight of stairs that lead to the entrance. As Doctor Stephen opened up the wooden doors, everyone gasped to see that the main room was still in perfect, clean, and well-kept shape.

Large white windows allowed the sun’s light to go into the temple, but the jungle trees surrounding the temple only allowed a certain amount. The inside walls were still made out of brown rock, the floor was made out of marble; however, the designs really caught the scientist’s eye.

Each scientist ran all over the floor to check out the many different types of symbols of the old Ancient Shizoian language that told the story of Knight. Each symbol was colored in different colors such as gold, red, yellow, ice blue, blue, white, and silver. Also, the symbols swirled around to a certain focal point where a drawling of Knight was.

“This is him,” Doctor Stephen said while touching the drawling, “This is the legendary honker of the night sky. Doesn’t he look wonderful?”

“We seem him everyday if you watch the news,” commented Mr. Russio, “He always hang out with Emperor Enrique, remember?”

“Yes you nitwit!” yelled Doctor Stephen just as he got tired of Mr. Russio and his attitude, “I know that! But we are here to unlock the mystery behind Knight, and the legend that tells a story of him hiding another creature!”

Doctor Stephen’s wife place her hand on his shoulder so he can calm down, “Listen. There is a legend that tells a story how Knight and this creature fought for the longest time to see who was powerful. The battle went on for ages, but it all ended when Knight used all of his strength and power to lock away this creature in his very own home. There, he will guard this creature for all eternity.”

Then she walked passed the group and looked at the Shizoian tree that was planted at the end of the temple, and a golden alter in front of it. Everyone watched her as she walked up the steps, made it to the alter, and looked up at the silver and brown flowers on the tree above her as if they were part of a weeping willow. As she lightly touched a flower, she looked down at the glass case on top of the alter that once held Knight’s precious prized item.

She continued as she observed the silver blanket inside the glass container, “The legend foretold that once six thousand years pass, the creature will awake, and bring fourth the deadliest apocalypse ever in history. It would be the end of the world as we know it.”

“Then why were we sent here by Rosie Morganna?” questioned Mr. Russio as if he started to get worried, “Why would she care about saving the world?”

Doctor stepped in to answer for his wife, “She wants us to bring in the creature, give it to her, and clone it so she can create the world’s strongest honker. And then dispatch this one before it brings the world to an end.”

Everyone was scared to hear this. They never knew that they were sent to retrieve something that would bring death to Earth, and nor would they wanted to take participation in it.

“I don’t know about you,” Mr. Russio stated, “but I’m not going to continue this expedition if it is going to bring the world to its end. No way in hell.” He turned around and headed directly towards the entrance without even thinking twice about quitting his job. But as he took his first step, he suddenly fell into a trap.

A circular door in the center of the temple opened up below him, and he suddenly fell directly into it. He dropped like an egg from a nest. Everyone gasped as the watched him diving feet first through this whole, and screaming as he slid all away down.

They quickly ran up to the opened door and continuously called out his name. But as they heard a huge thump and a crash, they realized that he had hit rock bottom, but still alive as he yelled out “I think my ass is broken’!”

Mrs. Russio looked up and sighed, “Geez.” But as she was looking at the entrance, she noticed a darkened figure wearing layers of black cloaks over it. She couldn’t recognize who it was. She gulped and stood there speechless, but she was able to poke Doctor Stephen.

Doctor Stephen looked up and noticed the figure before them. One by one everyone looked up and gasped in fright as they noticed the stranger. The wind carried along its cloaks, and a faint image of a large sword appeared in its right hand. It was bigger than the figure, and there were two blades swirling around each other.

“You have brought the bringer of destruction to life,” the stranger stated, “Beware. As the eyes open, you will see no more.” Then the stranger disappeared as its cloaks covered up its body, and changed into one single black towel that was following along the gusty outside wind.

But before anyone said anything in response to the stranger’s statement, nine circular doors opened below them and they were sliding their way down to the unknown room.

Within seconds they exited out of their passageways, and fell from the stoned ceiling and landed on soft soil. One by one they each opened up their eyes slowly and found themselves in the forbidden room where the creature was kept.

The light was dimmed, the floor was actual forest floor, there were trees all over the place, thousands of flowers littered the ground, and a large dead Shizoian tree stood in the center of it all.

Mr. Russio stood in front of it amazed at how he made one of the most important discoveries of all time. He was a step closer to the tree. His mouth wide opened, his eyes glittering with excitement, and his right hand gently touching along the roots that guarded the large hole.

Everyone got up on their feet, and ran up to Mr. Russio and the tree. They were amazed by how a creature can sleep and still be alive, in a tree, for six thousand years. Even the thoughts of the stranger coming to them and warning them didn’t worry them anymore. All they seemed to care about was their discovery.

* * * *

Later that night, hundreds of scientists, diggers, and a couple of helicopters gathered around the temple to help out the ten scientists to get the creature out of its prison. They had to bust a whole in the temple for them to enter the forbidden room and even bust a whole in the temple’s roof.

According by Shizoian law, they couldn’t do that; however, they could if they pay for it. But, the royals didn’t knew that there was an expedition at the Shadow Temple.

Mrs. Russio walked along side with Doctor Stephen in the forbidden room. She was doing all of the paper work while Doctor Stephen was doing the examination. “Doctor, I was just thinking. The warning we heard earlier today. Do you think we should be paying attention to that?”

”Nonsense,” Doctor Stephen answered, “We are scientists. We shouldn’t pay any attention to such thing. The creature is still asleep and we can get it to Rosie in no time. It will be days until it will awake again.”

“But Doctor. We can’t even read Ancient Shizoian. How can we know what day this creature is to be awaken?”

Both of them ended up right in front of the tree as a couple of mechanics wrapped thick red ropes around it. Doctor Stephen, and along with the other nine scientists, gathered around it before it was ripped out of the ground.

”Because,” he paused, “I have a feeling that it is time.”

And it was time. He felt the roots gently with his right hand and slowly moved it inside the whole to touch the creature’s face. It was dark inside the hole for them to see the creature, but they knew that there was one in it. But as he touched the creature he stood still in paralyze. Two red glowing eyes opened up and stun everyone in its awake.

The ten scientists felt their bodies where kept under control. They lost feeling, thoughts, and life. They were like zombies. Suddenly, the roots covering the whole started to catch on fire and burned into ashes in seconds. The creature didn’t stick its head out, but it let out a laugh and a large roar.

The ground begun to shake and the temple started to fall apart. The people ran in fright, the helicopters took off but exploded in mid air, and the few people in the forbidden room lit on fire and turned into ash. Except the ten scientists.

Suddenly the ground around the temple broke into little pieces and floated in mid air as if there were no gravity. The trees around the temple burned to ash. Then the dead Shizoian Tree started to float out of the forbidden room along with the ten scientists.

Finally, the temple below the tree exploded and the whole area was engulfed in smoke.

* * * *

That same time, in the palace, in Enrique’s room, Enrique woke up in cold sweat, his heart racing, he had a hard time breathing, and his arms numb. It was if he was having a short panic attack. But as he controlled his breathing and settled down, he slowly got out of bed, and headed towards his balcony.

He leaned up against the railing and looked out at the darkened city. Everyone was asleep besides him. Then he looked up at the sky. It was beautiful as ever. Billions of stars glittering, he noticed a galaxy, and the moon was large and bright. It was something that you can’t see in a big time city across the whole world.

Above him a honker was flying above him. It was hard to see it because its fur was black, but he noticed the colorful aurora borealis following behind it. Traditionally, that meant that everything was fine and the citizens of Shizo were going to have another great day.

Enrique could only smile but he still felt worried and scared. “Kup a ka’ah Bah, tujh oye ti ooterro. Tujh wojo lono eramet. Tel’eb retho duke.” He pleaded as he bowed his head and closed his eyes, tear ran slowly down his cheeks, and dropped onto the marble railing.

Thanks again for reading Neo =D .

Yeah, it does continue from the last story from two chapters ago. You will see a couple from time to time, but they always have a connection from the other. I also do that so I can keep the reader on his/her toes instead of just writing the same scene or character over and over again in each chapter. It gives me more of a plethora of things to write off from.

Once again, thanks for reading!

I'll be posting the next chapter, that I redid last night, tonight or tomorrow.

Chapter Five

“Holy Knight!”

It was another beautiful spring day at Beville. The sky was blue, the white clouds are out, the sun was shinning, the warm wind was gentle, and the air smelled like freshly bloomed flowers. It was another day for the folks of Beville to go outside in the parks, beach, and walk down the streets. But as for Enrique, he had to continue his work.

On top of a huge hill that can be mistakenly be called a small mountain, a huge brick mansion with eight floors and two towers at each end of it catches every citizen’s eye. Hundreds of marble steps lead from the golden gates - glittered with Shizoian red rose vines - to the two door entrance, and the front yard was decorated with Shizoian trees, bushes, flowers, and rare tropical-like birds flying from one tree to another.

Behind the palace, in the distance, were mountains that arc around Beville; a perfect protection for the city for any sorts of land invasions. In the courtyard behind the palace, a marble stairway leads to a glorious garden filled with many different kinds of flowers, bushes, and trees. In the center was a huge white marble fountain with a honker standing in the middle with its wings wide opened. The water poured out of its opened mouth and from behind the creature.

The creature was Honker’s wife, Univee. She was the legendary honker of souls. Her special and main power was psychic and light. Honker could remember the day that he met her. In a endless meadow, he saw her white body, her white and golden mane and tail followed along with the wind, her head looking upwards at the sky, and her white and golden wings glittering in the sun’s rays. He didn’t want to remember the whole entire thing because he made a fool out of himself.

Now they were married, and Univee was expecting honkens any time soon. The length of pregnancy, for honkers, was twelve months, and they can have one to eight honkens – as known as baby honkers. Normally, Honker would stay at Northern Shizo’s capital, Luca, and stay at the palace; however, Univee was expecting any time, and he wanted to be by her side to witness his newly born children.

On a balcony, located on the fourth floor, front of the palace, and on the right wing, Enrique was sitting on a white woven chair reading a bill that the Lucan council was trying to pass about tax raise. He kept reading the same sentence over and over again because he was loosing his concentration as if he had A.D.D. But he didn’t. He just couldn’t sleep that night.

As each minute passed by, he would look up to check out what the citizens of Beville were doing. He kept wondering about the bet that he lost to, or in the case Honker lost to on purpose. Then he will look back down and read out loud to himself:

April 27th, 2003 a.d.

Honker, who was laying like a cat in the corner of the balcony with his head rested on the marble floor, opened up his eyes and moved them up to watch Enrique being frustrated. “Good, now that you established today’s date, maybe you should read the next line.”

“We, the Lucan Council, propose the Emperor to take into consideration these following terms,” Enrique continued as he placed emphases on “propose” and “consideration.”

“Good,” Honker said again, “Continue to the next line.”

Enrique turned his head, and glared at Honker with his tired eyes. Honker chuckled a little, and returned to sleep. He had some sleep, but he was totally bored and all he could do was sleep. Although, he wanted to go outside in the courtyard, but his wife was having her mood swings, and he figured the best thing to do was to stay out of her way.

When Enrique went back to reading the bill, Miguel entered. He just came back from a meeting with Maroon; Farore’s Ambassador, Linda; and Mateo’s Ambassador, Zack. He was dressed in his normal untucked, white, dress shirt, brown dress pants, and his medium cut, black, curly, well-groomed hair. But as he entered, he noticed Enrique still wearing his morning clothes that consist of a white t-shirt and black, baggy, cargo, cotton sweat pants. He was lucky enough to have his white tenner shoes on though.

“So how was yesterday Enrique?” questioned Miguel as he stopped right next to the glass table that Enrique was about to fall asleep on. “I can see that it tired you out.”

Enrique didn’t even move his head, but did look up, “It was something. And, it didn’t tired me out. I just couldn’t get any sleep last night that’s all.”

Honker chuckled again, “Maybe you have that woman on your mind.”

Enrique turned to look at Honker, “Be quiet! If you hadn’t lost, then I wouldn’t be worry about the date with that loud mouth woman!”

“Date?” Miguel sounded a little concern. But just as he was about to continue from the shock, Maroon entered, and leaned up again the large sliding glass door like she was posing for a swimsuit photo.

“Oh Enrique! A date with me? That sounds so sudden.” Then she walked elegantly up to Enrique’s table. Her hips moved from side to side along with her wavy brown hair. “But I must say, I’ve been waiting for this for a very long time.” She said as she dragged the words “very long time.”

Miguel couldn’t resist himself, “Are you a loud mouth?”

Just as Maroon sat at the edge of the table, and pulled up her black dress to show Enrique her smooth tanned legs, she answered Miguel, “No, but don’t you have something to do Miguel? Like, take out the trash?”
“I’m sorry,” he answered as he was about to leave the balcony, “You won’t fit in the trash dispenser.”

Maroon quickly got up from the table and almost made it tip, but luckily Enrique stopped it. She moved closer up to Miguel as he kept getting cornered by her. But before she could have done anything, Enrique yelled, “Alright!” Maroon and Miguel quickly looked at Enrique. Honker just laid there with his eyes closed. “Maroon, if you want a date, go out to Market Street and get me two sub sandwiches.”

Maroon smiled, “Anything for Enrique!” Then she darted off as Miguel stood there in shock.

“And watch out for a fat clerk! His name is Thénardier! Warning, he might eat you!” Enrique yelled out to warn Maroon.

Quickly Miguel answered, “Sir!” then he ran out of the balcony, out of Enrique’s room, and stopped at the hallway, “Maroon! Meet up with a guy name Thénardier! Don’t listen to Enrique!” Then he realized something, “Oh what am I doing. She’ll do anything for Enrique.” Then he yelled out, “Correction! Enrique wants you to jump off a bridge!

“Miguel!” Enrique yelled from the balcony.

Miguel shook as he heard Enrique’s yell as if he was in trouble, so he slowly turned around and peeked out in the balcony, “Yes sir?”

“Can you do a background check for me?” Enrique questioned as he got up from his chair and walked slowly towards the marble railing with different shaped designs cut out of it, “Can you check a guy name Thénardeir? Yesterday, while I was battling him, he called out a Blue Eyes White Dragon. A very rare creature in the world.” Then he looked at Miguel as he walked out from Enrique’s room, “I have a strange feeling about him.”

“I’m sorry sir but I can’t,” Miguel answered, “It’s against the law to get a background check on anyone in Western Shizo. You need Farore’s consent to do so, and then state your evidence and reasons in court. Things like that takes up about a month to do.”

Enrique sighed, “Damn. That’s right. We’re in her providence.” Then he ran his hands through his messed up brown medium hair, and continued looking out in the distance and noticed Maroon running down the steps, though the gate, and out in Main Street. “You know what I want to do Miguel?”

“Convince Empress Rawlly to find another Ambassador?” answered Miguel as he walk up to Enrique, and laid his elbows on the railing, and watched Maroon asking for directions to every guy she met up with, and getting their phone numbers.

“Well, yeah,” Enrique said as he cracked a smile, “But besides that, I would like to start a tournament.”

”A tournament, sir?”

Enrique continued, “When Honker battled yesterday, I felt this feeling. I don’t know how to describe it, but it was more like a rage or something like that.”

Then Honker added, “Yeah, but I was the one that was doing the battling.”

Enrique pretended that he wasn’t listening, “The tournament will be held yearly, and we can make it into some sort of holiday.” Then he remembered something that he learned long ago, “I know! Lets start the tournament that was in the ancient times!”

Miguel listened to Enrique’s idea, and he nodded his head as if he agreed. “That’s a good idea, but you do realize why the ancient tournament stopped, right?”

“Yeah, but it is different now. We will make sure it won’t happen again.” Then Enrique turned around, patted behind Miguel’s back, and left to his room to get change so he can look presentable for Farore, Rawlly, and Mateo about his new idea.

Miguel chuckled a little, and waited for Enrique to leave his room. When he did, Miguel slowly crept up to Honker and whispered into his black cat-like ears, “So when is the date?”

Honker answered without even opening up his eyes or even barely opening up his mouth. It was like he was already asleep. “Tonight.”

“Okay,” Miguel answered as he cracked a smile, and quietly left the balcony.

Honker sighed of relief now that he was alone and could get some sleep. But, before he even got comfortable, he heard wings flapping above him, and then landing in front of him. He opened up his eyes and noticed a huge honker head staring right at him.

The honker was the same size as Honker, but this one was black, with two rows of white spikes down its neck, a black, silver, and white main and tail, white cat-like ears with silver on the tips of them, and black wings with the feathers about the size of a peacocks.

“Holy Knight!” screamed Honker in fright, “Next time just say ‘hello’ or something like that! Don’t just stand there!”

Knight laughed as he backed away from Honker, “Just checking to see if you are still alive and alert.” Then he scratched his neck by using his right front paw, “Damn these bugs! Is it mating season already?”

Honker brought his head up and yawned, “So why are you here? I thought you went to check something out for something, or something like that.”

“You mean going somewhere to get something because something is going to happen to someone some day?” questioned Knight.

Honker looked confused, “Um. Yeah. Something like that.”

Knight laughed, and then stopped because he had an itch around his chest area. He flopped to his left side, and bit the area, like a dog, where it itched the most and mumbled, “Damn these bugs! I swear! My coat is like an XXX porn shop or something!”

“You’ll have that sometimes.”

Honker stood up as Knight continued biting himself. He stretched out his back legs, then his front, and his horse-sized neck. Just when Knight finished, he, too, got up and stretched out a little, and both of them headed towards Enrique’s room.

”You sound a little bit tired,” Knight observed while he followed behind Honker as they entered Enrique’s bedroom, “Was it because of the battle yesterday?”

Honker nodded, “Yeah. The Blue Eyes was easy to defeat, but then I went up against Maria.”

Knight stopped in his tracks in the middle of Enrique’s bedroom, “Maria!? The Saint of Fire?! Is she still mad at you?”

Honker stopped to look back, and didn’t look to worry about it, “Well, the way she was fighting it seemed like it. I guess she will never forgive me when I told her that I was married.” Then he continued out of Enrique’s room, turned right, and headed to the lobby.

Knight sighed, and followed behind Honker, “I told you! You should’ve told her when you met her! But no! You insisted that she wasn’t in love with you!”

Honker yelled back from the hallway, as Knight left Enrique’s bedroom, “Hey, I did tell her didn’t I?”

Knight had this huge smile on his face, “Yeah, after when she confessed that she loved you!”

The two were having a blast arguing with each other down the hallway. They were the best of friends, but more like brothers. The relationship that they had started when they were young, and it kept continuing from there.

As they continued down the hallway and down the steps to the lobby, the suddenly stopped in their tracks in the middle of the steps as they saw Enrique, Miguel, Farore, Rawlly, Mateo, Lady Tonya, and Zack grouped up to hear Maroon talking. It sounded serious coming from Maroon of all people.

As they watched them split up, they continued walking down the steps, and waited for Enrique on the platform that connects the three stairways to the lobby, right and left wings. Enrique noticed the two up there, so he walked up to them, and, he too, looked concern.

“So what happened?” questioned Honker.

Enrique cleared his throat and answered, “Last night there was an explosion near the Lunar Mountains. It was the Shadow Temple.”

Knight’s mouth was half wide in shock. He holds the power of light and shadow, so this was a huge concern for him. “An explosion? But how?”

Enrique continued, “I don’t know. Maroon heard about it at Market Street. The word is that a group of scientists were at the temple and suddenly it exploded. Farore, Rawlly, and Mateo are going to check it out right now. Meanwhile, Lady Tonya and Zack are going to do some background research of these scientists to see who they are related to so we can call their families. As for Miguel and Maroon, who knows what they are going to do. And I’m…”

“And you have a date tonight remember?” interrupted Honker. “You let Knight and I take care of this.”

Enrique smiled and walked between Honker and Knight. As he walked between them, he petted each one to reassure them that everything was going to be fine. Then he headed up to his bedroom to get ready.

Honker looked at Knight, “Do you think it might be ‘you know who’?”

Knight kept staring straight forward; “I hope not,” then he looked at Honker all worried, “If so, then we are going to face another apocalypse.”

Ay, ay, ay! How did you manage to sneak 2 chapters past me?! Just kidding, I wasn't around a whole lot this past week. First the praise: Chapter 4 was nicely intense, with the scientists ignoring the stranger's warnings and going after the creature anyway. I also liked that you didn't describe the creature right away, just its eyes - more suspense that way. Also, good background on the relationship between Honker and Knight. Now the constructive criticism: Watch your verb tense agreement, and homonyms. Also verb endings. These last 2 chapters seemed to be written in a hurry. My inner editor was screaming because some of your sentences didn't make sense. For example:

A wealthy woman in America who specializes in new technology and even clothes line call Fashion Boss.
There were a couple others, but my kids are arguing about Monopoly, and I'm having trouble finding them. ^^;; It really just sounded like you were having trouble saying things the right way. If you want me to find those other passages later, let me know. On the whole, though, I enjoyed these chapters. You're moving the story along nicely, and definitely have my interest.

Hey! So there you are! Yes, I did manage to sneek two chapter behind you

First off, thank you for reading. You are showing me that you are actually reading my story, and I'm honored that you are enjoying it. It seems, to me, that I'm dragging it, but it is the first out of the six novels. Of course, I'm on the fith right now.

Secondy, I wish I have an inner editor  I don't know if I wrote it in the first post, but what the hell, I feel like typing right now so I'll explain. I'm a member of a RPG called "Darkness in the Light" and it has been going on for about two years now (couting the hiatuses). I kept all of the posts that I made, and now I'm putting them all together and link them into one huge series.

What I do is lI look over the posts, and then I add parts or delete parts in them. The introduction wasn't a post, and the first-fourth chapters were posts. The last couple of posts I've been skimming them over. I really didn't pay much attention to them. I've been super busy, and now that everything is calming down, I have time to look them over and fix them. [thinking out loud] I should put aside a day to reedit them...hmmm.. [/thinking out loud].

I just looked back at them and the one word that kept poping out was "whole" when I ment "hole". I even looked at the quote you had there, and I was like "oh yeah, how can I miss that fragment." And, yeah, I have a problem with explaining myself. It is one of my weaknesses that I have a problem fixing. Also along with tenses, but it will take awhile.

The next chapter is going to take me awhile folks because I'm actually writing it. It wasn't used in the RPG.

"Master of the House" will be up next!

PS. If you guys know Les Miserables and/or have the CD with the song "Master of the House", it will come in real handy for the next chapter. And yes, the next chapter is a "musical" chapter lol. I'm trying something new for once. =)

Hello again. Again, great work, and I liked the introduction of Knight. He seems really honourable and one of the supporting characters which shape the heroes' roles. At first when he descended, I thought it was 'you know who'. I hope the next chapter will be a confrontation between them.

Well, thanks Neo =D ! Just keep Knight and 'you know who' in mind ;) *hint* *hint*

I'm sorry guys for the delay. I have my posts on the laptop, and it is really acting up. I can't go on the internet on the laptop, and I'm going to have to take it in to get it fix and to get it rebooted. So, my posts are going to be deleted and I'm going to have to write the whole thing...again! :( :swear:
And to add to that, I had to reboot my computer, and, it too, had my posts on it. Not to forget that my floopy hard drive does not work. GR!

So, I'm going to have to rewrite the next chapter, again. But, I guess I can look at this positivly. I can switch some things around to make it more interesting. But, till then, please keep an eye out for the next chapter. I should be posting it sometime tomorrow or next day....I hope.

Hasta Luego mis amigos!

Heh heh, all this "you know who" stuff makes me think of Voldemort. 'Course, I'm in a weird mood. Sorry to hear about your computer trouble - evil laptop! Evil hard drive! Don't worry, I'm not going anywhere.

I was thinking about your wish for an inner editor. A really good resource is James Kilpatrick's "Writer's Art" column that appears in a lot of Sunday newspapers, in the op-ed pages. He's part of a conservative columnists' group, but don't let that put you off, because he's very knowledgeable. He tackles a different issue each week, does it with style and humor, and frequently refers to his sources in his columns.

SMB: Voldemort? You know what, I really didn't realize that untill you wrote that. You'll have to see ;)

As for James Kilpatricks, I wish I get the newspaper in this ghost country-town. It's like pulling a leg and arm off just to get one. But he does sound familiar. I'll have to read some of his work. Thanks for the suggestion! =D

Well, guys, I finally finished writing the chapter. It may seem sloppy because I did rushed it, and I'm tired. Tomorrow (or today to be technical) I'll check it again and edit it. You'll see why it took me awhile to right it. Hint, it is at the bottom of the post.

Oh, just so you guys know, I was listening to "The Lion King" instrumental music while I was writing it. During Honker and Univee's scene the song I was listening to was "This Land" and also "Under the Stars".

During the conference I was listening to "The Prince of Egypt" instrumental music. I forgot the titles.

So, here is Chapter Six!

Chapter Six

“Rossisa a Univee”

The stars glittered the night sky, and the moon’s rays pierced through Enrique’s windows, and shined upon him. He stood behind his dresser and watched himself in the mirror trying to tie his white tie. At the same time, Honker and Knight were watching the news on a flat television that was up against the wall over the fireplace.

In Shizo, spheres ran their TVs, and every TV was flat. Blue spheres were located at the bottom of the screen, and they will glow blue every time the TV was on. The only simple way to change the channel was to touch the sphere, and by mental processing, the TV would change channels to your heart’s content. In this case, Honker and Knight just wanted to watch the news about the temple.

“We don’t have any reports about the scientists as of yet,” reported the lady newscaster, Emma Sheen, “Wait! This is just in, I have a report from Melanie Button.”

Honker and Knight, who were lying by the fireplace while watching the TV, perked up their ears as the reporter caught their attention.

“Yes I do!” said Melanie into the microphone. Behind her were the leftovers of the temple, and dozens of men and women pulling on a thick rope to bring out a large alter from the rubble. “We just received word that there was an alter in the rubble. Professor Lynda Dorough stated to us a minute ago that this could lead them to why the temple exploded. I will keep you guys updated.”

Enrique turned around, as he finished struggling with his tie, and watched the television from afar as Melanie spoke. As she finished, he said, “An alter? Knight do you know anything about an alter?”

Knight turned to look at Enrique, “Yeah, of course. It is my temple after all.” Then he turned to watch the news to know more about the situation.

Emma continued after Melanie spoke, “Thank you Melanie,” and before she could have said anything, someone whispered to her and left. “I just received word that Empress Farore is going to hold a live conference in about a minute. Please stay tune.”

Enrique, Honker and Knight looked at each other at the same time. “Conference? For what?” questioned Enrique, “I’m afraid what she is going to do.”

Knight got up following with Honker, “Well,” he said, “I guess there is only one way to find out.”

Honker and Knight continued walking out of the Enrique’s room to the throne room where she would hold her conferences. Enrique sighed, tucked in his black dress-shirt into his black dress pants, and quickly caught up with Honker and Knight.

Every reporter around Shizo gathered in the throne room. Hundreds of seats were set up on the white marble floor, and were made sure that they faced perfectly so the reporters can have a good view of the Empress sitting in her rounded throne.

The throne was rounded in the back with large white and golden feathers around it. The patting was black and the throne was made out of white marble. Located on top of a platform, it took exactly thirty steps to get to it. The steps were made out of marble also, but they were covered with royal red carpeting, and the platform was arched.

Behind the throne was a very large window. Every body could see a little bit of the courtyard, and the mountains off in the distance. But in this case, they could only see the stars.

On the opposite side of the throne was a balcony. There, Enrique, Mateo, and Rawlly would sit in their own throne. Each throne was the same – marbled, stereotyped throne with royal red patting - however, each one had a golden symbol woven in it that corresponded to their region.

Above their balcony, was another balcony, but it was darkened. Inside it, Honker, Knight, Rawlly’s honkers and Mateo’s honkers would lay in there. The cameras were not allowed to show the area for the honker’s safety.

As everyone were situated in their seats, Honker and Knight in their area, and Enrique, Mateo, and Rawlly in their thrones, they all became silent as they heard the two large doors opened and a man yelling all, “All rise for the Empress Farore of Western Shizo!”

Everyone rose and watched as a woman wearing a white skirt-like tight dress with a white-feathered cape attached to it, and dragging on the royal red carpet for her to walk on. Her brown hair was put into a ponytail and bunched up so it looked messy, and a couple of white feathers were placed in it. Also, she was wearing a gold-chained necklace with a large white crystal. It glittered from the crystal chandeliers’ lights.

Following behind her were four women wearing all the same thing: yellow, white, and black cloaks. Their faces were visible, but the rest of their bodies were not. Following behind them were two army-suited men carrying flags. One was carrying the Shizoian flag, and the other was carrying the Western Shizoian Providence flag.

Then, finally, the speaker said again, “Presenting Queen Univee and Lady Swan!”

Two honkers were walking together side-by-side. Both of them wore the same thing: a white cape, made especially for them, with a couple of colorful designs; and both honkers looked similar; however, Swan was a bit smaller than Univee, and had silver tips on her feathers and long white and silver curly mane and tail.

Everyone watched as Empress Farore stood in front of her throne, her ladies splitting up into two groups and stood right next to her, the flag carries splitting up and stood at one end of the top platform, and, finally, Univee and Swan walking up the steps, and laid in their areas. Swan was lying on top of a large royal red pillow to the right of the platform, and Univee lying on the same pillow, but to the left of the platform.

Farore looked up to see if the other Royals were there, and then she sat down in her throne. Everyone else sat in his or her seats after her. The camera people begun to film, and the reporters prepared themselves to take notes of the speech.

Farore took a deep breather, and begun to speak in a serious but caring tone, “People of Shizo, I really can not describe how the Royals of Shizo and myself feel about the devastating tragic at the Shadow Temple. All I could say is that we, too, are upset and in shock about this tragedy.”

“Many families lost their loved ones, and we even lost our most historical monuments. Even though we do not have the names of the lost ones as of now, we will honor those that risked their lives to unlock our history, and to protect our country. They deserve our thanks, respect, and gratitude.”

“However, that is not the reason why I’m holding this conference,” she paused for a second to recollect her thoughts, and continued, “With much evidence to support this case, I believe that we had faced a terrorist attack.”

She paused to hear the shocked noises that the reporters and camera people were making. Enrique, Mateo, and Rawlly practically stood at the end of their thrones to wonder how Farore could have made that assumption. Honker and Knight, on the other hand, did not want to jump into any conclusions. They knew something was up.

“Please, do not make the assumption that the newcomers, from the Milky Way, are behind this,” she said to reassure everyone that it was not their doing. “They helped me to think towards a terrorist attack. An attack that may lead us to war, but I reassure you that the Royals and myself will do whatever is in our power not to start a war.”

”What may be the victim you might ask? I assure you it isn’t any countries on Earth, nor Pluto, Neptune, Venus, Mars, Mercury, or Uranus. Although, we do think it could be Saturn and Jupiter. Prime Minister Uni told me about their armies. The Red Spot Army and Ring Army are the biggest armies in this solar system; however we cannot assume that they have done this terrorist attack.”

“I will meet with the Royals of Shizo, and discuss this matter with them. Until then, I would ask you to stay calm about this matter. By having a riot or any racism cults against our visitors can cause more damage then what we already have. Once again, it is not their attention to start a war against us. They are our friends, and would help us when we need it.”

“I cannot stress enough how deeply upset I am right now of what had just happened. But we need to move on, and learned what has happened. Learning from our mistakes can make us a stronger person, and even can make Shizo a stronger country. If we work together, we can make Shizo a strong and unbreakable country. Then, and only then, we will not have any more incidents like this. Good night, and God bless.”

The reporters had begun asking their questions, and Farore tried to answer them to the best of her abilities. Meanwhile, Honker and Knight left their balcony, and Enrique, Rawlly, and Mateo leaned into their thrones in wonderment.

“Do you really think that was a terrorist attack?” questioned Mateo as he looked at Rawlly and Enrique. “Or maybe the terrorist attack is a political cover-up?”

Rawlly turned to glare at Mateo, “Come on! You’re an Emperor! You should know the difference between a political cover-up and the real deal!”

Enrique continued to look forward at Farore as she was answering the reporter’s questions, and said, “It’s a political cover-up. There is something wrong with this picture.”

Rawlly and Mateo looked at Enrique. “What’s wrong then?” Mateo questioned.

“I don’t know,” he said in worriment, “I have this feeling that something isn’t right.”

Suddenly, Miguel entered from behind Enrique, tapped on his right shoulder, and leaned to whisper in his ear, “Sir. You have leave for your date now. That is, unless, you want to cancel.”

Luckily Rawlly and Mateo didn’t hear Miguel. They were too busy arguing over the differences between political cover-ups and the real deals. Enrique didn’t say a word though. All he did was nod his head, and left the balcony while leaving Miguel with Rawlly and Mateo.

* * * *

The stars glittered the night sky, the crickets, frogs, and other insects were singing their night tunes, the wind was gentle and the temperature was just right for Honker. Lying outside, below a Shizoian Tree, on a grassy hill, and behind the palace; he was looking up at the sky and pondered about many things.

A gust of warm wind gently swirled around his head. He closed his eyes and followed along with it with his head. As it disappeared, he opened up his eyes and noticed a white, beautiful, honker with large, white and golden wings smiling at him.

“A penny for every thought?” she said to him as she walked up to him.

He smiled at her presence, “I would be a millionaire by now.” He slowly got up and nudged her down so she can lay down and rest, “Univee, you should know better than to walk around. You should be resting.”

Univee laid down on the grass, “Nonsense. I’m fine.” Then she tried to make herself comfortable, “I can’t wait till our children are born! I can’t stand carrying them around anymore!”

“And that is why you shouldn’t be walking around,” Honker responded as he laid right next her.

Univee smiled in response, and laid her head on Honker’s back. He smiled, and continued looking up at the sky. “Do you think it would be wise to raise our children here?”

Univee didn’t bother looking up, but she answered in a tiring tone, “Why?”

Honker didn’t answered right away. Each thought he had kept coming back to haunt him one by one, but he took a deep breath, and answered, “Well, the Shadow Temple exploded, and Knight and I think that ’you know who’ is awake.”

Univee moved her head off of his back, and looked at him while he was looking at the sky, “I thought ’you know who’ wasn’t going to awake for sometime now? So, what’s Knight going to do?”

“I don’t know,” then he looked at his wife in all seriousness, “I just don’t want to raise my children in such chaos. If all else fails, then I’m force to fight. If I loose, then they will be fatherless. I don‘t want them to grow up without a father.”

Univee rubbed her head gently up against Honker’s, “I just hope it doesn’t come to that. Loosing you would be like loosing a piece of myself. A huge piece that I can’t live without.”

Honker looked at her with loving eyes, and then he licked her cheek, “I won’t fail you.”

Then he looked back up at the sky, and went back to his original worried state. Univee continued gazing at him, and, she too, was worried. There was just one thing that the two can be assured that nothing wasn’t going to happen, and that was to live up to the legend.

Honker slowly got up of the ground and walked a few feet away from Univee. He continued gazing at the sky as if he was waiting for someone, but he couldn’t wait any longer. He took a deep breath, closed his eyes, and looked straight up at the sky. Suddenly, the pharaoh-like, golden necklace that he was wearing started to glow. The huge white crystal in the middle of it begun to shine ever so brightly.

Suddenly, little, white, glowing, pyreflies begun to slowly exit out of his crystal and headed to the night sky. He slowly widen his wings, and his body begun to glow. As he opened up his eyes, they turned pure white, and his body begun to be covered with white flames. Also, his tail and main continued to fly along with the gentle wind.

Then he whispered, “Kah‘ shahash, sossia ka‘ah woss Y dossita.”

Then the clouds formed and slowly swirled around him. It was if he was the center of a small hurricane’s eye. He looked at it and saw two large winged honkers. They were made by the clouds, but looked lifelike as they looked down upon him.

“Saboha. Sabola. Y kabossa tyekoh nussa’as yoss,” he whispered again.

He watched as they nodded their heads and slowly disappearing. He smiled, looked at Univee as she stood there half scared, and yelled out so everyone could here, “Light shall overcome darkness!”

Suddenly he let out a huge white flame that the citizens of Beville or travelers could see. Knight, from up above, noticed it. He roared in excitement and swoop down to where Honker and Univee was. As he met up with Honker, he took off again and both of them roared at each other once more. Then Knight continued flying to Beville to show the people that they will live another safe day...

*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*

“...However,” Marius added, “As you will learn in the near future, that all legends aren‘t true”

Gaia pocked her head out from Marius’ wing because the noon’s heat was killing her. “Why did Honker show off his power?”

Marius slowly moved his head to her, and picked her up by using his mouth as if she was a puppy and he was the father. Together, and along with Rose, they walked underneath a Shizoian tree where it was cooler. He placed Gaia on a large branch that was large enough to hold him. Rose laid up against the tree to waited for Marius to continue the story.

Marius stood up on his back legs to reach for a large flower. It looked like a large porch rose, but the peddles seemed different. Each peddle were white with sparkling golden swirls in them. Each peddle didn’t look the same.

As he went back to all fours, he walked out of the shade while he was carrying the rose in his mouth. He dropped it on the floor, in the sunny area, and back away.

“Just when Honker went back to his normal state, there was one more light pyrefly flying around him. He directed it to the tree that his wife was laying under, and made it go into it. Suddenly, the tree begun to flourish with dozens of these roses,” he said as he looked at Rosa and Gaia.

He continued, “The moon shined brightly that night, and the moon’s rays especially shined on these roses. Univee was amazed by this, and watched it as the glowing white and golden powder went flying all over the place. The sent was sweat and unforgettable.”

Then suddenly little bits of white and golden powder came flying out of the rose and went flying to Rose and Gaia. They took a deep breath of it, and felt recharged, energetic, and soothed. The smell was like a regular rose, but mixed with other varieties of different flower smells.

“This was Honker’s gift to his wife,” Marius continued, “It’s called the Rossisa a Univee.”

Hello again, Master Tut. I'm glad you have your chapter up not long after your postponement note. This chapter seems the most evocative as the puzzle is coming together with war awaiting. I'm pretty sure this Farore woman is in league with the tyrant in the temple. But I do hope some subtleties occur before open battle, because being at the edge of your seat is an experience I don't want to miss with your fic.

Oh yes, I did spot some conventional errors with homophones. But then again, they don't matter much to me as I know they can change.

Suite Madame Blue

Yes, I saw the evil homophones too, but this chapter seemed to go better overall than the last one. My one complaint is your descriptions of clothing: "army-suited men" should "uniformed men", and for the "skirt-like tight dress", maybe you could look up the style, or show someone a picture and ask them.

I liked your description of the TV's. The press conference scene was a good way to convey information and raise the tension. I do hope you let us see how Enrique's date goes, though.

Tutankhamun

Wow! Replies already. =D And, yes, those evil homophones. I must reread to find them.

Neo: Hola! Thanks for reading again! As for Farore, you'll have to see [insert evil muahahahahaha]. Throughout the story there will be TONS of secrets and mysteries.

SMB: Hola! Yeah, I do have problems with clothing. As you can see, I'm not a shopper lol, so I really don't know clothes. All I know are the basics: dresses, shirts, pants, and shoes. But yeah, I know that the army suits are smiliar to the old British Revolutionary Suits. The styles are the same, but less heavier looking.

Also, the date was going to be that last chapter, and Chapter Six was going to be Chapter Seven, but I felt like I should change it around. The next chapter should be up in a few days. It's Enrique's date, and the title: "Master of the House".

Thanks again for reading! =D

EDIT: Oh yeah, Farore's dress is like Princes' Amundala (I have no idea what her name is) on Star Wars Episode One. She wore it at the end when she gave a peace sphere to the water people. But the hair is different.

Yeah, I do have problems with clothing. As you can see, I'm not a shopper lol, so I really don't know clothes. All I know are the basics: dresses, shirts, pants, and shoes.
That's OK. You can't be any worse than Janet Jackson! If you don't know style names you can just describe the clothes in more detail: how it fits (tight or loose), sleeve and skirt length, etc. I do recall that you told us about the uniforms in a previous chapter, in which case all we need is a quick reminder: red-uniformed flag bearers, or whatever. 'Course, I'm female, and I need these details!

Since your newspaper situation sucks, you might be able to find Kilpatrick's columns online somewhere. Good luck!

Okay guys. Here is my next chapter. Although, I would like to point out some simple things.

First, this is a fourteen page chapter, twelve font, on Microsoft Word Processor. So, please, by all means, take your time reading it. Even if it takes days. I don't think I will be writing another chapter in a few days. It took me about six hours to write this one, and three hours to edit and reread it.

Secondy, there are going to be singing in this chapter. I have a key to help you guys.

Thirdy, if you have Les Miserables "Master of the House" or know it, it will come in BIG handy for this chapter. Also, if you have Josh Groban CLOSER cd with the song "Oceano", it will come in handy as well.

This is something that I wanted to try. So, take your time reading it.

Chapter Seven

“Master of the House”

Enrique scurried down the hallway from his room, and almost tripped as he ran down the steps in the lobby. Miguel watched from the entrance doors with a white, long, suit coat around his left arm. “I’m sure you’ll be there on time sir,” he alleged.

Enrique walked up to him, grabbed the coat, and put it on, “That woman is very strict. If I’m late, I’ll probably hear lectures upon lectures about time, maturity, and responsibility.” Then he checked his back pocket for his wallet, and found it, “By the way, did you see the bright flame in the back yard a minute ago?”

Miguel just stood there with his hands folded in front of him, “I took no notice of it, sir. So, where are you going to escort your date?”

Enrique replied, “Well, there is this new lounge that just opened in Beville Park. I’ll take her there, maybe a walk in the park, and then I’ll escort her home.” Then he backed away from Miguel, buttoned his coat, and brushed it off. “So, what do you think?” he said as he showed off his outfit, “Good enough?”

Miguel glanced at the outfit, “It’s good for a commoner I guess, but you are missing something.” He turned around and grabbed a couple of freshly cut red roses from a vase, and handed them to Enrique, “There ya’ go. Give that to your date, and remember to be polite and be a gentleman. And, by all means, don’t mention politics.”

Enrique took a deep breath and let it all out leisurely, “Thanks Miguel. Where would I be without you?” He shook Miguel’s hand for luck, and proceeded out the entrance doors.

Miguel followed behind Enrique, and kept an eye on him while he walked down the steps, “Good luck sir!” he shouted out as he closed the doors.

Afterwards, he headed up the steps, and there, in front of him, stood Maroon. He rolled his eyes, and crossed his arms, “What do you want?”

“I want to know where Enrique is heading?” she retorted with an attitude.

“Non of your business,” he riposted, as he turned to walk pass her, “Now if you don’t mind. I have something to do for someone.”

Maroon stepped aside and blocked Miguel, “You’re not going anywhere without telling me where Emperor Enrique is heading.”

* * * *

Meanwhile, in Jewels’ house, Jewels was in a small bathroom, on the second floor, while getting ready for her date. She was sitting on a wooden stool, and Gwen sat on the cream marbled countertop with the essentials that Jewels needed.

On the first floor, in the small living room, Adam was watching cartoons on a sphere TV and was resting on a black leather couch. Cosset, on the other hand, was sleeping on a red beanbag in the corner of the room. Also, Jack was laying on the brown carpet while coloring a coloring book.

Suddenly there was a knock on the door and Jewels shouted out, “Adam! Jack! Answer the door! Your babysitter is here!”

“I got it,” Adam answered while he yawned, got up from the couch, and gradually proceeded in the direction of the wooden door.

As he opened it, an elderly woman with a brown cane entered in, and pinched Adam’s cheeks, “Oh my! How much you’ve grown! It was just like yesterday you were this high!” She tried measuring up Adam with her hand, but Adam just sighed when she was way off with the measuring. He would’ve grown in three inches in a day according to her scale.

“You did see me yesterday Mrs. Buttercup. And I didn’t grow since then,” he said while trying to smile to greet her, but all he could give her was a grin.

While he helped her to the couch, Gwen came running down the steps, and enthusiastically yelled out to them, “Jewels is coming!”

Jack got up from the floor, Cosset sharply brought up her head, Adam backed away from the couch and glanced up at the stairway, and Mrs. Buttercup gave the impression like she had no awareness of what was occurring.

Jewels slowly walked down the steps. They observed her sparkling, pink, high heel shoes with pink straps swirling around her calves and ending below her knees.

When she took a couple more steps, they ogled at her pink dress. It was a sleeveless and strapless pink skirt that harmonized with her shoes. It was tight around her chest, stomach, and then loose-fitting around her waist and down to her middle of her thighs. The skirt was longer in the back than in the front.

Then, at long last, as she stepped on the last step, she ran her hands through her wavy, long brown hair with blond highlights. She checked herself in the mirror, by the door, her pink lips and her makeup. Just when she was checking, there was another knock at the door. She stopped, and opened it up.

There, waiting at the door, was Enrique holding the roses in front of him, and greeted with a small smile, and said, “Hi.”

“Hi,” Jewels said back with a surprised smile when she saw the roses, “You can come in.”

Enrique walked slowly into the house while giving Jewels the roses. He seemed very shy, and quiet. Though, Adam, Gwen, Cosset, and Jack ran up to him and greeted him with open arms. To them, Enrique was a hero because he saved them from Thénardier.

Meanwhile, Jewels was in the kitchen. She was putting the roses in a vase, and smelling them one by one. Afterwards, she grabbed a small pink purse, and met up with Enrique. “Okay. I’m ready.”

“Okay,” Enrique responded.

He allowed Jewels to walk out first, and he closed the door behind him. Then they both begun to walk on the sidewalk, and Enrique guided her the way to the lounge. Throughout the whole walk, they asked simple questions such as “How was your day?” and “What is your favorite or least favorite thing to do?”

* * * *

A hand full of formal dressed couples walked anxiously to the newest lounge located outside the Bevillian Park. Compared to the other futurific buildings with rounded roofs, marble walls, and bazaar coloring, the lounge stood out from the rest.

The log building looked like any other lounge. It had eight floors, a triangular rooftop with gray shingles, and, unlike any other log building, it had a bunch of elm, pine, and oak trees planted around it.

The citizens were forced to walk a quarter mile to the lounge, but it was worth it. They would walk on a stoned pathway, decorated with fire torches alongside the pathway, and while they were walking, they could see Shizo’s most prized wildlife: honkers.

From close by, they could see the lounge’s lights. The path widened, and they would walk up the wooden steps to the porch. Two men wearing black suits willing opened the glass doors for them, and they continued into the large lounge room.

In front of them were two stairways that swirled to meet together on the second floor. The steps were covered with royal blue carpeting, and the railings were pure gold. Above them were the wooden beams that kept the roof from falling, and hanging from them were crystal chandeliers that kept the room lit.

To the right of them was the desk where they sign up for a room. The desk was made out of wood, but it looked like it was made of marble because it glittered from the chandeliers’ lights. Standing behind it were two women wearing black business dresses. They were happily greeted the newcomers.

Then some looked to their left where they were heading. It was the famous restaurant that they heard of from the newspaper. They headed towards the arc entryway where two male hosts waited patiently for them, and then they heard an orchestra with violins, flutes, drums, piano, and all sorts of instruments playing.

Inside it was just like the lounge room. The ceiling, the walls, and the floor were the same, but there were wooden tables with wooden chairs and booths. The hosts would seat them, and they waited patiently for their food. But suddenly the band stopped, and started to play a song that caught everyone’s attention.

They looked at the right corner where the band stood, and then quickly glanced at the front where a man stood. He was wearing a white, long-sleeved, dress shirt, with the first few buttons unbuttoned, and it fit well around his well-built body; khaki cargo pants that looked like it was a size bigger, and held up by a black belt; black boots, but most of them were covered by his pants; he was tanned, and his black, curly, shoulder length hair was a little bit messy, but wavy.

Everyone watched him as he leaned up against the arched counter top, and waited for everyone to get quiet. Just as a host brought in another formal couple, he started to sing along with the music:

Welcome Senior.
Sit yourself down,
And meet the best innkeeper in town.
As for the rest
All of them crooks.
Rooking the guests,
And cooking the books.

Then he looked right at the customers, and sung:

Seldom do you see.

Then he looked left at the customers, and sung:

Honest man like me.
A gent of good intent,
Who’s content to be.

Then he begun to walk forward down the royal blue, carpeted hallway, and shook hands with the closest customers, and sung:

Master of the House.
Doling out the charm.
Ready with a handshake,
And an open palm.

Then he sat at a table with two, young, twenty-year-old ladies. They were wearing expensive dresses, and he sang to them:

Tells a saucy tale.
Makes a little stir.
Customers appreciate
A bon viveur.

Then he got up and headed towards another table, bent down, and sung:

Glad to do a friend a favor.
Doesn’t cost me to be nice.
But nothing gets you nothing.
Everything has got a little price.

Afterwards, he continued to walk around the restaurant while greeting customers and shaking their hands. Meanwhile, he kept singing:

Master of the house.
Keeper of the zoo.
Ready to relieve them,
Of a sou or two.

Water in the wine.
Making up the weight.
Picking up their knicknacks
When they can’t see straight.

Everybody loves the landlord.
Everybody’s bosom friend.
I do whatever pleases.
Geez!
Won’t I bleed em in the end!

Everyone there was enjoying the song so much, that they even joined in singing with him. Not knowing the words wasn’t a problem. Behind their menus was the lyrics to the song.

While the guy kept walking around meeting the customers, everyone joined in the song and they all sang the chorus:

Master of the house.
Quick to catch your eye.
Never wants a passerby
To pass him by.

Servant to the poor.
Butler to the great.
Comforter, philosopher,
And life long mate.

Everybody’s boon companion.
Everybody’s chaperone.

Once the customers stopped singing, the guy continued by stating:

But lock up your valises.
Geez!
Won’t I skin you to the bone!

Meanwhile, Jewels and Enrique entered the lobby, and proceeded towards the restaurant where they were greeted, not by the hosts, but by the “Master of the House.” He swiftly strolled up to them, and greeted them by singing:

Enter Senior.
Lay down your load.
Unlace your boots.
And rest from the road.

Then he directed them to a booth, at the left side, where they sat right by the large window. He held on to Jewels’ hand. As he sat her down, he sung:

This weighs a ton (Jewels slapped him on his hand).
Travels a curse (he shook his pained hand).
But here we strive
To lighten your purse (he whispered to Enrique).

Then he left the confused couple, and ran up to the kitchen behind the arch counter top. The pot was located in an open area, so everyone could see him mixing and placing objects in the pot. As he did that, he kept singing:

Here the goose is cooked.
Here the fat is fried!
But nothing overlooked,
Till I’m sat-is-fied.

Food beyond compare!
Food beyond belief!
Mix it in the mixer
And pretend it’s beef.

Kidney of a horse.
Liver of a cat.
Filling up the sausages
With this and that.

Residents are more than welcome.
Bridal suite is occupied.
Reasonable charges,
Plus some little extras
On the side.

Suddenly, he decided to jump from the kitchen to behind the arch counter. He widen his arms, and each brown wooden door from each side opened, and a row of waiters and waitresses walked out with food on the trays.

Charge ‘em for the lice.
Extra for the mice.
Two percent for looking
In the mirror twice.

Here a little slice.
There a little cut.
Three percent for sleeping
With the window shut.

Then he quickly jumped over the arch counter, and sung:

When it comes to fixing prices.
There are lots of tricks I knows.

How it all increases.
All them bits
And pieces.
Geez!
It’s amazing
How it grows!

Everyone, except for Enrique and Jewels, began to sing the chorus again. While they were singing, the “Master of the House” danced down the hallway while some of the customers joined in with him. As they finished singing the chorus, he added by singing:

Dirty bunch of geezers.
Geez!
What a sorry
Little lot!

The music simmered down a little bit, but the piano player kept playing. A woman wearing a black, tight, strapless and sleeveless dress that goes down the floor, and fanning herself with a white-feathered fan, appeared on top of the counter top. She was sort of laying on it, and had her head hiding behind the fan. She began singing:

I used to dream
That I would meet a prince.
But, God Almighty,
Have you seen
What happened since?

She moved the fan away from her face, and showed her brown hair bunched up into one huge ball on top of her head with a bunch of white feathers stuck into it. She continued singing while getting up from the counter top, and walking to the left side of the room:

Master of the house?
Isn’t worth my spit.
Comforter, philosopher,
And life long ****!

Cunning little brain.
Regular Voltaire.
Thinking he’s quite a lover
But there’s not much there.

What a cruel trick of nature.
Landed me with such a louse.

God knows how I’ve lasted
Living with this bastard
In the house!

The “Master of the House” walked to the opposite side of the room where the lady stood. He jumped on top of an empty table, and sung the chorus with his side of the room. Meanwhile, the lady was on the opposite side of the room, and, she too, was standing on top of the table while making him look like a fool. All together everybody sung:

Master of the house
Master and a half!
Comforter, philosopher
Ha! Don’t make me laugh!
Servant to the poor
Butler to the great.
Hypocrite and toady
And inebriate!

Everybody bless the landlord!
Everybody bless his spouse!

The “Master of the House” grabbed a glass filled with white wine from someone near by, and held it high in the air while the lady ordered the people on the other side to do something else with it. All together, everyone sung:

Everybody raise a glass!
(cheering)
Raise it up the master’s ass!
(laughing)

Everyone was enjoying their time in the restaurant, and what a perfect time to have everyone to raise their glass to the “Master of the House”:

Everybody raise a glass
T’ the Master of the House!

The music continued to play a little bit longer. The “Master of the House” and the lady jumped off the tables and met up with each other in front of the arch counter top. Together, they were dancing to the music. The lady danced up in front of him and was about to fall on top of him, hoping that he would catch her. But as the song ended, he moved aside to do something, and allowed her to fall on the wooden floor.

Enrique was totally embarrassed. All he had to do was to take a quick look for one second, and realized that the lady and the “Master of the House” were Miguel and Maroon disguised as someone else. However, he wondered why nobody didn’t realize or even think that the two were two different strangers instead of them being ambassadors.

As for Jewels, she enjoyed every minute of it. All except for when Miguel said she “weighed a ton”. When she cooled down on her laugh, she looked at Enrique with his head hiding behind his hands, “So, that was fun wasn’t it?”

Enrique looked up. She could only see his eyes, and he answered, “Um. Yeah. Fun.” Although, he could only think, “How embarrassing! Why me?”

Miguel, or at the time being known as “Master of the House”, greeted himself at their booth, grabbed his order book from his back pocket, and waited impatiently for them to order. “So what will it be folks? Sopa de Papas, or the my personal favorite, Jacked-up chicken?”

“Hm,” Jewels hummed while she looked over the menu, and thought that the chicken sounded good, “What comes with Jacked-up Chicken?” Enrique slouched in the chair, and hid himself behind his menu.

“It is marinated with garlic sauce, topped with noodles, and parmesan cheese sauce.”

“Well, it does sound like it is jacked-up,” commented Jewels, as she handed Miguel her menu, “I’ll have that, and your best wine.”

Miguel looked at Enrique, with this look as if he was telling him, “Yeah, you are jacked-up.” But, instead, he smiled and said, “Would you like the same sir?”

Enrique handed Miguel his menu and answered, “I’ll just have ceaser salad and a Bloody Mary. Wait, make that two.”

“One for each of you?”

“No, both for me.”

Miguel could only laugh, “Yes sir. Right away.”

Just as Enrique sighed and before Jewels said anything, Maroon turned up at their booth, slid Enrique over, and sat right next to him, “My oh my! Aren’t you a handsome fellow! I swear, you look exactly like the Emperor of Northern Shizo.”

Jewels agreed, and looked suspicious about the woman sitting right next to Enrique, “Yes. They do look similar. And you are?”

Enrique crouched in the corner, and interrupted Jewels and Maroon’s conversation before Maroon could give her any clues that he was the Emperor, “Nope, I’m not. Just a commoner like everyone else.”

“And a cute commoner too,” Maroon added while she was getting closer to him.

Jewels looked at Enrique, and she too said, “Yeah. I believe you’re right.” She watched Enrique as he couldn’t believe that she agreed with Maroon, “He is cute.”

Miguel watched Maroon making a fool of herself from the kitchen. He yelled out to her, “Hey! Spouse! The trailer park called! They want their trash back!”

Maroon snarled at him as she gave him the death stare, but then she turned around and placed her hands on Enrique’s cheeks and said, “Don’t miss me.”

Jewels watched her slowly getting out of the booth, and her hips moving from side to side while she walked to greet a table full of single good-looking men. “What a ****,” she said in a jealous tone.

Enrique was flabbergasted to hear that. He laughed, and made himself look presentable, but comfortable too, and took a deep breath. “I heard earlier that you are a singer. I really didn’t know that.”

“I guess that means you don’t get out much,” she said.

Enrique just nodded, “Yeah. I don’t.”

Once again, there was another awkward silence between the two. Both of them kept looking left, right, out the window, at their hands, at the desert menu, and even at the kitchen to see if their food was ready. It was like this throughout the whole date. This could’ve been the first and last date if they continued to be like this.

Miguel watched from the kitchen as well. He noticed that nothing was happening, and he felt he should do something about it. Quickly, he got an idea. He rushed to the band, and whispered to the conductor, “Can you play ‘Oceano’ for me?”

The conductor answered, “Sure, but we don’t have anyone to sing it.”

Miguel pondered for a minute. He knew how the song went, but he didn’t want to sing it. He felt that he doesn’t have the voice to sing such a powerful song. But, suddenly, he noticed Honker hiding in the bushes through the window behind the band.

He walked up the window, and knocked on it. Honker pocked his head out from the bushes while chewing on a large green leaf. Miguel couldn’t talk to him through the window, so he beckoned him to come in.

Honker shook his head and continued chewing on his leaf. He knew what Miguel wanted him to do, and he didn’t want in any part of his plan. He even knew that Miguel and Maroon were going to manipulate Enrique’s date, but they only told him that they were going “to help.”

Miguel tried again, but Honker refused, so there was only one way that he could get Honker to do it. He turned around and snatched a bowl of macaroni and cheese from a waiter. Honker watched as Miguel waved it in front of the window, and started tasting it. He felt hungry and suckered into Miguel’s trap. Macaroni and cheese and fresh apple pie was Honker’s only weakness.

Honker lowered his head, and headed to the backdoor. Miguel quickly walked up to it, and opened it up for Honker, “Thank you so much! The date is such a bore!” he whispered to him.

Honker nodded, and followed Miguel to the band. Together they stopped in a shadowed area so no one can’t see them talking to each other. Only the conductor noticed them.

The conductor was surprise to see a honker in the building, and especially chosen to sing “Oceano.” It was not everyday to see a creature singing a song in public. Especially if the creature was an legendary.

Honker bent down to whisper to Miguel, “I don’t think this is such a good idea. What if the customers notice that I’m the legendary? Especially if Jewels finds out. That will blow Enrique’s cover! And you know how angry he can get!”

Miguel stood there for a second to think of a plan. Suddenly, when he saw a brown cowboy hat on a table, he thought of something. He walked out of the shadowed area, snatched the hat, and quietly walked back to Honker and placed the hat on him.

Honker sighed as if he gave up, “It bents my ears.”

Miguel grabbed a pair of scissors from the kitchen, and cut a pair of holes so Honker’s ears can fit through. “There. That should do it.”

Honker sighed again, “You don’t get it do you? They will notice my wings. I’m the only honker with these wings.”

Miguel left Honker alone once again, and headed to the laundry room behind the kitchen. He grabbed a large, thin, silky, red table cloth from the dryer. Honker watched as he came walking towards him with the cloth. He rolled his eyes when Miguel placed it on his back, and wrapped the ends around his neck so the necklace couldn’t be seen.

“Happy?” Miguel questioned, as he checked out Honker’s disgusted look. “You look fine.”

“Really?” Honker responded, “Because I feel like an idiot.” Then he left the shadowed area, and laid right next the band.

The conductor placed a microphone on a stand, and set it so Honker could sing into it. Miguel walked out of the shadowed area, and grabbed a microphone from one of the violin stands, and said “Ladies and Gents! I would like to take a second to acknowledge two special people! John Luther and Jewels!”

Enrique and Jewels were beginning to get embarrassed once everyone turned to look at them. Jewels slightly waved at them while Enrique drank a whole glass of Bloody Mary in a split second. He thought if he could get drunk now, he wouldn’t remember any of this.

Miguel continued, “Today we have a special guest to sing ‘Oceano’ for our newly couple.” Then he placed the microphone where it belong, and slowly walked backwards in the shadowed area while Enrique gave him the death stare.

The lights dimmed, and the center chandelier stayed bright, and the door closed. Everyone watched as a spot light shined on a black piano. The piano player begun to play a soothing song. Then the spot light shined on Honker. He started to sing a Latin song. Finally, the orchestra joined in once he finished his first verse.

Everyone was amazed at how well he was singing. His tenor, soothing, and attractive voice captivated everyone there. A few good singers that were there became jealous. Even his voice could win first place in American Idol.

Enrique figured that was Honker singing. He gave up trying, so he decided to cave in, and asked Jewels, “Would you like to dance?”

Jewels turned from watching Honker singing, and surprisingly gazed at Enrique, “I would love to.”

Enrique got up, and held out his right hand for Jewels. Elegantly, Jewels grabbed a hold of his hand, and Enrique slowly helped her out of the booth. Both of them walked together to the center of the restaurant. The customers watched them walking together while holding hands.

Maroon entered from behind Miguel, and stood right next to him, “Look at those two. How sweet,” she said sarcastically.

Miguel turned to look at her, “You only wish that was you holding Enrique’s hand.”

“I wouldn’t worry about it,” she said, “This is going to be a one night stand. Tomorrow they will go back to their separate lives.”

Then she watched as Enrique and Jewels begun slow dancing with each other. Jewels wrapped her arms above Enrique‘s shoulders, and Enrique wrapped his around her waist.

Maroon continued as she crossed her arms, “The life of a commoner, and the life of an emperor. The two don‘t mix.”

The song continued while Honker sung the second chorus. Background singers sang along with him, and together the song became very powerful. The words, the music, and Enrique and Jewels dancing together made it a special date.

As he finished holding out his last note, the music soothed down a little bit, and Enrique and Jewels were still the only ones dancing. Both of them exchanging lovingly gazes.

“John,” Jewels whispered with a smile.

Enrique answered while smiling, “Yes?”

“I would have to say,” then she paused, as she looked at Enrique’s sparkling hazel eyes. It was if they were drawing her in, and she loved it. “This would be the best date I ever had.”

Enrique stopped dancing as the song stopped and there was a complete silence. He stopped smiling, and looked at Honker. Honker was waiting for Enrique to do something or say something. Meanwhile, Maroon kept her arms crossed, and Miguel was biting his nails nervously.

Enrique slowly moved his head towards Jewels, and then he kissed her on her right cheek. Once he pulled away, he looked at her as she stood there shocked of what had just happened.

Honker excitedly smiled and looked back to see Miguel doing the “cha-ching” with his arms, and Maroon sneering and leaving the restaurant through the back door. He then looked back to check on Jewels and Enrique, and found them holding each other’s hands, and romantically looking at each other.

He got up, left the band area, and stopped right next to Miguel. “I guess that shows you that two classes can coincide with each other,” and then he looked back at Enrique and Jewels as they slowed danced with each other to no music, “No matter what the circumstances are.”

AMAZING, MASTER TUT! I must say you are INDEED a master of lyrics; they were a novelty! And that chapter is one that gives your masterful fic a sprinkle of its flavour. I shall soon see more of these sprinkles to complete your fic. Well done!

P.S. I like the new banner for your fic. Most captivating!

Thank you Neo =D

I'm glad you like the lyrics, but I can't take all the credit. They are the direct lyrics from "Master of the House" in Les Miserables. I just changed a few words. While I was listening to the song, I felt that it would fit perfectly to the chapter. And, by the look of your response, I guess it did. =)

Also, thanks for the comment about the banner =D It took me awhile just to find pictures for it. I made more, but I liked this one better 8)

Thanks again for reading it! And I'm glad to hear that you liked it 8)

I know I promised to post in a few days, but I felt like typing, but don't threat, this chapter isn't long. It is actually short to tell you the truth. Five pages on Microsoft Works Word Processor (MWWP), and in twelve font.

For now on, I'll be posting the type of music I was listening to. Just in case if you guys heard it or have it. It will come in handy because it would make the fic more powerful since my style of writing isn't as good as I want it to be. I'll be putting it in order according to the fic.

So, here it is. I hope you guys like it! Enjoy!

Chapter Eight

Trust

On top of the highest building in Beville, a shadowy creature stood upon it. For how dark it was, it was hard to see it, but all except the blood red eyes. It glanced at the happy people, while they were walking and enjoying the peaceful night, and sickened the creature.

It watched little children playing with lit sparklers in the middle of Main Street. They laughed, cheered, and excitedly jumped around. It was like Fourth of July in America. It, too, grossed the creature out. Happiness wasnt in its vocabulary. All it could do was to ruin the fun, and it did.

The children suddenly cried as the sparklers turned into flames. They ran all over the place while yelling for their parents. In a flash, the parents quickly dashed to their kids, and tried to put out the flames, but it was no use. The flames reached up the childrens arms, and lit parts of the parents bodies as well.

Then the evil-looking eyes looked upon the glittering sky. Soon enough, the winds begun to speed up a little bit and the temperature lowered. Normally, the weather takes time the change, but in this case, it only took one look from the evil red eyes. In a second, the weather changed to what the creature wanted it to.

While Enrique and Jewels were taking a walk in the park, close by the lounge, dark clouds begun to cast over the glittering stars. However, that didnt bother Enrique and Jewels. They just figured a storm was coming in. But something was wrong. The clouds gave off an eerie feeling.

Meanwhile, Jack was watching the sphere television while Mrs. Buttercup was sleeping on the couch, and Cosset was sleeping with Gwen and Adam in their bedroom. Jack decided to skip sleeping, and watch some adult rated cartoons.

He was sitting on the floor and was hypnotized to the TV. Something about people chasing after each other with a hammer just captivated him. But, suddenly, a news broadcast interrupted the program. It was Empress Farore once again.

Citizens of Shizo, she started out, while saying it in a caring tone, Awhile ago, there were ten missing scientists from the terrorist attack. Recently, the police had discovered their bodies about two miles away from the site.

She paused for a second, and continued, Im sorry to report that they were found dead.

Jack found himself out of the trans, and back into reality. His eyes widen in worriment when he heard that the scientists were found dead. He hoped it was not his parents.

Empress Farore continued, The cause of the death is unknown as of now. But my skilled scientists will get right on it, and Ill let you know as soon as I hear from them. She paused again, and continued, There should be a list of names of the deceased scientists appearing below your screen.

Jack watched as a black strip at the bottom of the screen appeared, and a list of names started rolling in. While he practically stood on his knees, his head was a foot away from the screen, he crossed his fingers and prayed that his parents werent mentioned with the list of people. But his prayers werent answered.

His heart stopped, his lips quivered, and his eyes watered as he saw Mr. and Mrs. Russio following along with the list of names. Following behind them were Gwens parents, Doctor Stephen and Mrs. Stephen, and Adams parents, Mr. and Mrs. Doctor Dion.

Jack couldnt take it anymore. His emotions took control of him, and he darted out of the house as a stroke of the first lightening came into sight. On the first step out of the house, he tripped and rolled down the row of steps to the concrete sidewalk. He whimpered. The fell scrapped his knees, tore a hole in his black t-shirt, and cut his forehead, but that didnt stop him from getting up and running away.

As he got up, and started running as fast as he could away from the house, it started to rain very hard, and wind speeded up some more. The creature from the tall building watched him running away and heading to a forest outside the city.

Just when Jack turned at the intersection to go to Market Street, Jewels and Enrique came running from the opposite side, and headed to her house so they could dry off.

As they made it to Jewels house, they laughed about how fast the storm came in without noticing what was truly happening. But just when Enrique noticed Empress Farore saying: Im deeply sorry for those that lost their loved ones; he looked at the bottom of the screen at the list of names.

Jewels appeared from behind him, and almost had a heart attack when she noticed the childrens parents names. She dropped the blue towels, and fell to her knees. Speechless as she was, Enrique knew that those parents belong to Adam, Gwen, and Jack.

He quickly darted up the stairs, while leaving Jewels in the living room, to check up on the children. When he quietly opened the door, he found Cosset laying on Adams bed and Gwen sleeping happily in hers. He didnt had the heart to wake them up. But then he noticed that Jack wasnt there.

Slowly he walked up to Jacks bed and checked underneath the messy covers, but he couldnt find him. Jack was nowhere in sight.

Meanwhile, Jack finally made it out of the city, and into the dark and ghostly forest. Dozens of tree leaves, vines, and thorns hit against his body. He yelled each time the thorns ripped his soft creamy skin. A few crows and vultures even watched him from up above. They couldnt wait to taste a young, fresh, warm boy for dinner.

Few of the large black crows plunged down, and fiercely pecked at his shirt. They ripped holes in it, and once there were no more shirt to peck at, they pecked at his skin. Blood burst out from his body each time a crow took a piece of his skin.

The torture almost killed him. As he tripped over a rock, he rolled down a small rocky sloop and landed in a small thorn bush. He cried in pain as each thorn pierced his skin and his wombs. The pain was so bad, that he felt like he was dying. Especially in the wombs. Imagine the pain when you pour bleach water over a freshly cut womb.

When he turned over to get up, he noticed two crows with blood red eyes flying at him. He quickly covered his eyes with his bloody arms, and the crows pecked at the arms instead.

Just when they flew away, he screamed in pain and for help. However, he was far away from the city, and the rain was too loud for anyone to hear him, but all except the crows and vultures.

He looked up and noticed a herd of crows perching on the branches. All of them had red glowing eyes. Each one of them looking intently at him, and waiting for his next move. And he made his next move. As he slowly got up from the dead thorn bush, he continued slowly walking on a mud path with his head lowered, his arms motionless, and his back arched.

Watching from a small distance away from him, the creature followed along with him on foot. Jack looked to his right when he felt a weird feeling. He noticed when he walked pass a tree, there was an outline of a creature with red eyes following him. The red eyes glared at him with such content, and yet, Jack felt an evil presence within them.

It wasnt even a quarter of a mile that Jack walked. Suddenly, he fell to his knees, and slowly fell forward into the mud. He felt his heart pumping out of his chest, his breathing became more difficult, and his body started getting really imperceptible.

Suddenly, he heard a faint, male voice saying, Get up!

Jack used up most of his strength to pick up his head. Just when he opened up his eyes, he noticed a pair of muddy hiking boots in front of him. They were blurry at first, but just when he realized that someone was there to help him, the last of his adrenaline increased.

He slowly got up, and stayed sitting down at his knees.

There, in front of him, he saw a man with messy, wet, blonde hair, tanned skin, and wearing a dark khaki shorts and vest. It was his father, Mr. Russio.

Daddy? Jack said in a faint voice. Daddy? I thought you are dead. He paused to cough out some blood, You? You are alive?

Mr. Russio smiled upon his son, and kneeled down to touch the boys shoulders. But, suddenly, his eyes turned red just like the crows and vultures. No, my son, he answered with a different male voice, Im just a shadow. A figment of your imagination.

Jack cried out No! just when Mr. Russios body turned into a dark cloud, and slowly moving around his body. Then, suddenly, Jack noticed the dark cloud going to a dark figure with red eyes, and being absorbed into a dark red glowing crystal that was within a golden necklace.

What is wrong Jack? the figure asked, Do you feel hopeless? Upset? Outcasted? Or all of the above?

Jack fell backwards into the mud, and answered in a frighten tone, Who...are...you?

The figure stepped out of the shadowy darkness and revealed itself. It was a honker with dark brown fur, two large black wings, curly black mane and tail, and two rows of black and silver spikes just like what Knight had. All in all, he could be mistakenly be noticed as Knight.

His eyes turned from red to its regular brown color. Im a creature like no other, he answered, as he walked and looked down at Jack, They call me the Bringer of the Apocalypse, but I prefer Shadow.

Jack didnt say anything. He was too weak and shock to. All he could do was to watch Shadow lay down in front of him, and wait for his next move.

I see that you lost someone dear to you, isnt that right Jack? he said while he made one of his right black claws appeared, and ran it smoothly through Jacks wet, bloody, messy hair.

Jack frowned, Yeah.

Shadow continued, I see that you need a friend right now.

Jack watched as Shadow followed his claw around his head, down his neck, and to where his heart was located. Yeah, he answered. But I have Adam, Gwen, and Jewels.

But what about Cosset? questioned Shadow, Doesnt she belong to Adam? Is he sharing Cosset with you?

Cosset is Adams pokmon, answered Jack, And, yeah, he is sharing her with me.

What if I told you that he is sharing her because Jewels told him to? What do you say about that? I hate to break it to you Jack, but Gwen, Adam, Cosset, and Jewels dont like you. They think you are a pain, and yet, they only pretend to like you. Then he pretended to look sorry for Jack, Jack, I am everything you need in a friend.

How can I trust you? questioned Jack, as he started to sob of what Shadow just told him about Jewels, Adam, Gwen, and Cosset.

Shadow untucked in his claw, and wrapped his right leg around Jack. He then made him lay up against his chest. Jack felt Shadows heart pumping, his soft, brown, thick fur, and what was weird was that it wasnt wet; it was dried. With that, Jack felt comfortable with Shadow near him.

Shadow lowered his head, and rubbed it against Jack, You can trust me Jack, he whispered, Ill be there when you need me. All I need is your heart.

My heart? Jack questioned, as he perked his head up from laying against Shadows chest. What do you want with my heart?

All I am asking is your trust, Shadow answered, Will you trust me?

Jack stood there quiet as he watched Shadow waiting patiently for his answer. Trust was something you dont give a person in a split second. Why would he trust a creature he knew in a minute? But then he thought about Jewels, Adam, Cosset, and Gwen. He thought that they loved and trusted him, but Shadow made it sound so believable that they were only betraying him; so, then he came up with his decision.

I trust you, he answered back, with a whispering and tiring tone.

Shadow smiled, Im glad to hear that. Now rest Jack.

Jack closed his eyes and suddenly fell asleep. Meanwhile, Shadows eyes glowed bright red again. Then, suddenly, out from the dark red crystal hiding behind Jack, a dark cloud shrouded around him and healed his whole body, but it did more than just that.

A small, little, yellow tattoo appeared right where his heart was located. The yellow symbol was glowing, and then it disappeared once the dark clouds disappeared. There, Shadow left Jack sleeping alone in the mud, in the middle of the ghostly and dark forest.

I trust you, Jack whispered once more.

* * * *

Enrique left the house to find Jack as he know that the police wouldnt do anything. Jewels relied on them and hoped that they would find him, but Enrique knew better so he left the matters in his own hands. However, he had to go back to the palace to get Miguel, Maroon, and Knight to help him. Honker, on the other hand, was already out looking for Jack.

Meanwhile, back at the darkened forest, a cloaked stranger at the temple appeared. It looked down upon Jack as he shivered from the cold and mud. He was close of having a pneumonia. Jacks face was already blue, his fingers frozen, and his breathing was bad.

From far away, Shadow was watching. He had this evil grin on his face. It was if, he wanted Jack to die.

As for the stranger, he grabbed his swirling sword from its large sheath. Just as he was about the stab Jack, Honker came into the picture. Even though Honker didnt see the stranger, the stranger saw him, and so he disappeared in thin air.

Honker swoop down, and noticed Jack shivering in a pool of water, blood, and mud. He quickly grabbed him by his shirt and made him get on his back. It took a couple of tries because Jack couldnt grip onto Honkers mane or fur; his fingers where too cold and frozen, but Honker had to bring him home.

But something crossed his mind. He got a weird vibe from Jack. It was if Jack was being watched and was possessed. With that in mind, Honker decided to go to the palace and keep him there over night. There, Jack would regain health, and Knight would help him to find out what was up with this vibe he got from Jack.

Meanwhile, at the palace, Enrique opened the entrance doors wide opened as the lightening brightened up the lounge, and the thunder cracked. He went running up the stairway as he tried to keep quiet, but his shoes were so wet that they made the wet squishing noise.

Just as he got to the middle of the staircase, he heard the entrance doors slamming shut, and thundering roaring. He quickly turned around to find a cloaked stranger standing in the middle of the lounge. The raggedy cloak didnt look wet, but it was dry as sand. It moved from side to side as the stranger kept walking up to Enrique as each lightening brightened up the room.

Suddenly, just when Enrique backed up to the last step and fell, the stranger stopped, and said in a male voice, It is time. The lord of darkness has risen, and the universe shall see its great power. Then the stranger paused as he realized that Honker delivered the boy to Enriques room, then he continued, The lord of darkness had already begun its process.

At the last crack of lightening, the stranger disappeared, and left Enrique laying on the platform. His elbows were digging into the hard, thin, royal red carpet, his legs felt weak, and his breathing was hard to control. It was like he thought he saw a ghost. Or, could it be that he did see a ghost?

Now I don't know when my next update would be. Probably in two-four days. It might be a short one or long one. We'll see. Like I said before: "I'm full of surprises." =D

Your musical chapter was good! Although you don't want to describe the restaurant as "infamous". That means famous in a bad way. Not good for a restaurant.

Poor Jack, finding out from the TV that his parents died, and then being manipulated like that. Oh evil, evil Shadow! A short chapter maybe, but very significant.

I can't let this paragraph go! A sloop is a sailing vessel - you want "slope". And a womb is something Jack will never have! The word should be "wound".

And just for the record, crows don't travel in herds. The collective noun is "a murder of crows". "Flock" works too. :)

Good job. I like how you alternate between light chapters and ominous ones. I smell mayhem coming, though!

Thank you SMB for reading! And, also, for pointing out those huge mistakes. The "sloop" one was a typeo, and "wombs" well, my fault =D I had "infamouse" there for a reason too, but once I thought about it, I decided to change it. You'll see why it would be known as the "infamouse" reaturant in the near future ;) .

Once again, I'm really glad that you are enjoying the fic so far! Also thank you for pointing out the mistakes. I would be writing "wombs" a lot more if you didn't pick that one out, .

Thanks again! =D

PS. You didn't say anything about my new banner :(

Thank you SMB!

Well, guys, I'll be posting the next chapter this Sunday maybe. Right now I'm adding a part to the last chapter because, and originally, it was going to be in the next chapter, but I felt that I should put it in the last one.

Since I start my new job tomorrow (Saturday) as a waiter in a bar/resturant, I'll probably be posting a lot less, but don't you threat, I'll keep up with the story. I would really like to end it at the end of August before I start school again. Then in late September/early October I'll start posting New Era II . But, this goal is subject to change. Who knows what will happen from now till then.

So, I'll probably be posting the next chapter this Sunday or Monday. I'll probably post the "lost segment" from Chapter Eight this Sunday.

I have about Chapter Nine 1/4 done right now, and I'm taking my time because I really want it to be good, make sense, and affective. It is a huge chapter. Lets just say that it is huge so that you don't want to miss it.

But till then, I'll see ya' guys letta!

Amazing once again, Master Tut. This was one dark chapter; I can say the darkness chapter so far in this story with the antagonist in motion and a new suspense created. The crow attack was written well, and such dark feelings Jack felt were revealed. Then again, crows must be really aggressive in Shizo, right? The "Dark Lord" is possibly one of the most dangerous of antagonists I've read about.

But then I spotted an error with the word trance: you put trans instead of trance when you described Jack's worriment when he was about to hear the scientists' names.

You've definately organised this fic very well and created much suspense for the chapters to come. A promising achievement so far!

Thank you so much for the reply Neo! I really appreciate you reading this fic! It is one of the main reasons why I'm still writing it.

I just reedit the last chapter. You would know where I continued the fic. It just leads you guys to Chapter Nine.

The next chapter should be up sometime tomorrow. It's already written, but I need to recheck it for grammer errors, and to make it better. It is an important chapter, and it really leads you guys to the plot. Which, you will see the tip of the plot in Chapter Ten.

I hope you guys like it!

And a BIG thanks for reading this far into the fic!

I think I speak for Neo as well as myself when I say that it's our pleasure reading this. There have been comments elsewhere on this board that no new fics have really taken off and gained a large readership. I just wish more people would take the chance and read this one. And stick with it. Converting the story from an RPG is a great idea - you always have stuff happening because the story has to advance. I'm not sure, but I think other fics here have been written that way in the past, and been successful.

Your edit is good. We get a little more insight, and Enrique now has confirmation of what's going on. I know I'm not saying that right. Anyway, I look forward to what you have in store for us in Ch. 9.

Chapter Nine

Pre-Senate

That morning, Farore was in a large room. The circular room had wooden walls, royal blue carpeting, and a large, arched, brown, wooden desk close to the center of it. Behind the desk was a large window that wasnt straight; it was part of the circular room.

Outside the courtyard, you could see half of the circular room over the lobby room. It looked like it was a closed in balcony, but with the window as its wall.

Sitting on a chair that looks just like her throne in the throne room, she was looking over some letters from many different countries about their views about the newcomers. She grieved over most of them due to the leaders of the countries were against making peace with them. It was peace that the newcomers were looking for.

Suddenly, a lady with shoulder length straightened hair came walking in the room wearing a womans black business suit. With her, she held onto a white leather folder. She walked up to Farores desk and placed it in front of her.

Farore looked down at the folder, What is this, Lady Tonya?

A letter from the Senate, my lady, answered Lady Tonya, They sent it this morning, and I just received it. It is about Emperor Plut and the other newcomers.

Farore opened the white, thick, leather folder and read the proposal out loud:

Royals,

It has come to our attention, that you agreed that the terrorist attack was not planned from the newcomers, though they steered you to two planets: Jupiter and Saturn. We fear that the newcomers are the cause of this attack. Hint, thus is why the leaders of our trading countries have an aversion to them.

We are also aware that you wish to pursue a peace treaty with them, and hope to have a space trading rout. We disagree.

Royals, we wish to have a meeting this afternoon about this matter.

Farore slammed the folder on her desk, and dashed out of her seat. How dare they think of such nonsense! Then she walked out of her office with Lady Tonya following behind her.

She stopped at the other side of her office, and gripped tight on the golden metal railing. As Lady Tonya calmly and slowly walked out of the office, she glared at Farore as she looked down at the lobby room below her.

Lady Tonya, she said in a serious tone, Get ready to go to the Senate. Then she looked up at the glass, colored, dome up above, and looked at the clear light blue sky, Meanwhile, I need to talk to Enrique about something.

Lady Tonya bowed to Farores wishes and headed to the right wing of the palace. Farore glanced at the glass dome for another minute while she was trying to recollect her thoughts. It was what she had feared, now the Senate was getting involved and causing more problems for the Royals.

She inhaled and exhaled slowly to relieve some of the stress, and left the opposite direction from where Lady Tonya was heading. She needed to speak to Enrique.

* * * *

Enrique stood outside, on his balcony, wearing only his black baggy sweatpants. Holding in his right arm was a white mug with coffee in it, and he used the other to keep himself from falling over the railing because of the lack of sleep he had in the past couple of days.

He continued to look out at the city, and watched the citizens live their daily lives of not knowing what happened that night. With the exception of the few that were burnt by the fireworks. He also continued glancing at Jewels townhouse on Main Street. There, sitting on the steps with the note in her hand, Jewels shed tears about Jack leaving, but she also felt happy that he was found. Though, she had to go to the palace to pick him up.

As Enrique stood there, bending over the railing, Miguel appeared from the entrance and said, Sir. Empress Farore is here to talk to you.

Oh? Enrique answered as he stood straight up, and walked at a snails pace to the white woven chair by the glass table.

Miguel backed away from the entrance, and Farore appeared from the white thin curtains that followed along with the gentle wind. Good morning, she said, with a white greeting smile.

She had on a long sleeved gown that dragged on the floor. It was dark yellow at the top, and slowly got lighter till it turned white at the end of it. It was tight around her chest and stomach, but loose around her waist, legs, and arms. Her long, brown, wavy hair wasnt decorated with no feathers, and it wasnt made into any fancy design. She allowed it to go freely.

Enrique smiled back, and nodded for Miguel to leave him and Farore alone. So how may I help you, Farore?

Farore sat down on the other white woven chair on the other side of the glass table, and answered, You seemed tired. Is there anything troubling you?

Enrique shook his head and looked down at his folded hands, No. Nothing isnt troubling me. He lied.

Enrique, she said in a caring tone, I know you. Youre my cousin. So, tell me whats troubling you.

Enrique looked up at her, and cracked a little smile, Nothing. Farore looked back at him; knowing that he was lying. Im telling you the truth! Im just tired and stressed thats all.

Farore knew that Enrique was lying. She could sense it. I know youve been sneaking out of the palace to see a girl.
Enrique almost had a heart attack, No I havent! I think you are seeing things again.

She laughed, No. I can see things, but I cant change them. She paused to settle down on her laugh, and continued, I think its nice to see you go out and enjoy life to its fullest. You were always the adventures person in the family. Other than Mateo, though. But, remember who you are.

She got up from her chair, and kneeled down in front of him as he bowed his head down. She grabbed his hands, and looked up at him, Youre an emperor, Enrique. I can understand that you need to get out of the palace, live life, and meet someone that isnt a politician, but you need to stick to your duties. In the past couple of days, you seemed like you werent with us. Remember, when you fail, so does your country. However, I wont tell anyone about your secret.

Enrique looked up at her, and didnt say anything. He wasnt speechless, it was just that his emotions were overwhelmed with such responsibilities. Being an Emperor was too much for him, but he took it with knowing the consequences. So did Rawlly, Mateo, and Farore.

Farore leaned forward to give Enrique a kiss on his forehead. He smiled as she backed away, and he bent over to hug her, Thank you, he said, It hasnt been a week, and I feel that so much had happened.

Then he paused as he stood up, and helped Farore off the marbled floor. He felt a little bit better, but something was also troubling him. The event that morning, when Jack was gone, he encountered the Stranger in the lobby.

He could remember it as plain as daylight. The sword, the black, raggedy cloak, and what he had warned him about the time of the lord of darkness had risen. If only he could remember what the Stranger was talking about, and who the Stranger was.

I need to show you something, Enrique said as he grabbed a hold of Farore and dragged her into his bedroom, and to his bed.

Both of them looked down at Jack. Sleeping silently, there seemed nothing wrong with him, but until Enrique took the covers off, and showed Farore the yellow tattoo printed on his chest. Farore was flabbergasted, but not in surprise, but in shock and fright.

Where did he came from? she asked, as she sat right next to Jack, and looked down upon the yellow symbol.

Meanwhile, Enrique was on the other side of the room while fixing up his hair. He answered, Well, his parents died in the terrorist attack. Jewels was watching him at the time, but as he heard the news he ran away. But someone brought him here.

Someone? she questioned again.

Enrique looked back at Farore with a worried look, A Stranger. I dont know who it was, but it came to me last night in the lobby. It told me that the lord of darkness has risen.

Then he headed to his large walk-in closet. As he turned the lights on, the walls were littered with all sorts of robes, cloaks, headdresses, shoes, boots, and anything else possible, but in the middle of it was what he was after for.

In the center of the closet, there was a manikin about the size of Enrique. On it was a large, hooded, white cloak that could also be mistakenly be a cape too. It was outlined with gold, inside it was black, and on the back of it was a golden symbol with a black outline. It means in Ancient Shizoian: Light.

Underneath the cloak was a two piece set. The top piece was white, long sleeved, and comfortable fit ninja top. The sleeves were long enough to cover up his hands, and the shirt was long enough that it even ended at his knees. The edges were gold, and in the back was that same symbol on the back of the cloak.

The bottom piece, however, were the pants and boots. The pants were a tad baggy, made out of cloth, and white as well, but on the sides of them were gold, black, and red luminous flames that started from the bottom, and end at the top. The boots, however, were like any other boots. They were white, ended half a foot from his feet, and had three buckles.

Farore watched as Enrique put on his suit. The suit that meant he had the power, the leadership qualities, and the courage to fight against that do wrong. It was his Emperor outfit.

Just when he finished putting on his cloak, he walked out of the closet, and grabbed a thick black ninja belt from his drawer, and wrapped it around his waist. Then Farore put on the last thing that completed his outfit; his necklace.

She walked to the other side of the room, and in a glass container, was his necklace. She opened it up from the top, and gently took it out with much care. Together, they met up with each other in the center of his bedroom. He kneeled down on one knee, and she placed it around his neck.

Then, Miguel came walking into the room with a huge glass case. He rolled it in to Farore and Enrique. Enrique still stood on his knee, and Farore opened up the glass case to grab his headdress that he wore in the parade.

It looked like an Egyptian Pharaoh headdress. The strips were white and gold, the tiara was gold, and in the center of it were dozens of clear white crystals.

Farore placed it on Enriques head. Afterwards, he stood up and smilingly looked at her and Miguel, and said, Well, Im dressed. So, what are we going to do?

Farore slightly smiled, and answered, We have to go to the Senate, Enrique.

He stopped smiling. It was something that he didnt want to hear. The Senate was like hell for him only because they use guilt against him, and he falls into that. No politician has a weakness when it comes to guilt, but there were so many senators. These senators seemed like the Devils henchman according to Enrique, Farore, Rawlly, and Mateo. Only because they believed the senators want to control the country.

Back in history, Shizo was ruled by monarchy. Which was the traditional four emperors or empresses. They ruled for many centuries and made Shizo one of the strongest countries in history. The economy was golden, the environment was perfect in many ways, and the people were happy. They also had the higher power than the Senate. But, suddenly, the monarchy disintegrated, and the Senate took control.

Each province was split into little sections just so one senator owned it. Then, just like any other new government, a revolutionary war started in Shizo. It ran for many years, and soon the country crumbled down into nothingness. People striked against the new laws that destroyed the environment, economy, and their very own lives. They believed that they were living in a totalitarianism country.

Finally, at the verge of the country totally loosing its power, four people stepped up and took control over the Senate. Soon, they brought back the monarchy and the old laws. The people pointed them as emperors and empresses of Shizo, and they became known as the Royals.

However, the Senate stayed. The Royals allowed them to control their plots of land -- which were called counties -- and allowed them to represent their people. They had to be voted to rule for three years, and only allowed to serve two terms. But, the Senate still kept trying to take back, what they believe, was theirs.

When are we leaving? Enrique questioned, as he gave up trying to make himself not to go to the Senate.

Miguel answered, Right now.

Meanwhile, Jewels was walking down Main Street with a letter in her hand. It was given to her early in the morning by two guards. They were wearing a black helmet that looks like the Spartan's wore back in ancient history. The feathers were black and long; they seemed like they were falling backwards. They had on a large black cape that dragged on the floor, a red and black coat that the British Commanders wore in the American Revolutionary War, and black pants and black boots.

As she continued walking down the road, she made it to the gate. Two guards stood at their posts while looking forward. She was half tempted to wave her hands in front of their faces, but she was too worried about Jack. The note that she got said that Jack was at the palace. Although, she had no idea how he got there, but what was important that they have him.

Suddenly, the gate opened up by itself. She backed up a little bit in fright, but calmed down once the gates finished opening. As she sighed, she continued her way up the long stair-pathway to the palace.

Just as the palaces doors opened up, she walked into the large lobby. She looked up to see the glass dome, then to the right to see a hallway, and to the left to see a hallway leading to the throne room. Then she looked forward to see the large staircase with royal red carpeting. Standing in the middle of it were two soldiers with Jack in the middle.

She quickly ran up to Jack and hugged him as if there was no tomorrow. I was so worried! She cried, Dont you even leave like that again! Promise me!

As she backed away, she looked at Jacks tired eyes, and he answered with a smile, I wont.

Afterwards, together they walked with each other down the steps, and there, at their left, was Enrique. Just as they got to the last step, they noticed him walking out from the left hallway with Miguel following behind him and two other soldiers.

He stopped to look at Jewels and Jack. Both of them stopped abruptly and kneeled down to one knee, but what was weird was that they didnt realize that the emperor was Enrique. Only because he had his hood on, and it covered his whole face except for his mouth and lower jaw.

Jewels and Jack continued looking down at the marbled floor, and Enrique said to them in a low voice, It would be stupid of me to say that this kid was yours?

Jewels looked up and answered nervously, Yes, your majesty, he is mine. I promise he wont run away again.

Enrique slightly bowed his head down, He looks like he will become a great politician some day. You take good care of him. Then he continued his way towards the entrance, and left the palace to go to the Senate.

* * * *

In the middle of Main Street was a four-way intersection. From the palace, the left intersection lead to a temple called the Temple of Souls, and to the right the street takes you to the Senate. The Senate building was one of the tallest buildings in the city, with the exception of the clock tower and the temple.

The building was made totally out of stone. It looked like a giant mushroom because of the blue rooftop and they way it was built. Shizoian trees gathered around it, hundreds of people walk around in front of it, and thousands of horse carriages were parked behind it.

Enrique, Rawlly, Farore, and Mateo were riding in their own separate closed-in carriages with their ambassadors. Enrique glanced out of the window, with his hood down, as the carriage passed a large marbled fountain in front of the Senate building.

The fountain had four people, dressed in cloaks, on a large rock. Each one of them was holding on to the same pole with the large Shizoian flag. Water was jetting out from the water pool, and made it as high as the flag. It was a sight that many tourists took the advantage of taking a picture of.

The carriage went halfway around the fountain and stopped on the other side; just where the long stairway lead to the entrance. Two soldiers waited until the carriage stopped, just so they can open up the door. When they did, Enrique slowly got out. He was greeted by no one, so he continued his way up to the stairs, and into the Senate building.

Inside the Senate building were two different sections. The bottom section that looked like the stem of your typical mushroom, was where the senators and emperors or empresses hang out at in their rooms. Some senators had to be with other senators in a room, but only the empresses and emperors get their own.

The top section, the top part of the typical mushroom, was where they hold their meetings. That was where the laws were made, passed, and the talk of war happens. Inside it was very dimmed in lighting, thousands of balconies laid along side the slanted walls, and the roof was dark, but something magical happens to the roof -- you could see the stars, the moon, and a few planets twenty-four seven. No one couldnt explain how that happened.

In the center was nothing. At the bottom, though, was a large hover with four thrones. The thrones were for the Royals to sit in. Once the meeting starts, the hover will rise to the middle of the room, and the negotiations would start.

The ambassadors, though, stay in their offices, in the bottom section, and watch the meeting over the sphere TV. If they believe that the Royals were doing something uncalled for, they will bring up a hologram in front of their assigned Royals, and talk to them that way.

Enrique sat in this assigned throne as he waited for Farore, Rawlly, and Mateo to enter the, what he calls, the pit of hell. First, Mateo came walking in wearing a long, white, sleeveless jacket like Seto Kiaba. He also wore a black tux-like suit, and a brown pirate-like hat with a large white and blue feather attached to it.

After him was Rawlly. She was wearing loose fit, longed sleeve, light blue dress that when the light hits it, the color looks like sliver. It was a little bit tight around her chest area, the bottom would look wavy as she walked, and the material looked silky. She had a long white scarf wrapped around her neck, but the length and thickness made it look like a short cape. And her hair was curled, and put into a pony tail by a soft and movable light blue metal piece that looked like a bandanna. There were designs carved into it.

Following behind Rawlly, was Farore. She was still wearing the same dress, but with her white, long feathered cape. Also, she too had her hair done as well. She curled it a little bit more, and let it more freely; however, she had on a small crystal crown with dozens of small white feathers decorated around it.

Just as Mateo, Rawlly, and Farore sat down in their proper thrones, and every senator sat in their assigned balconies, the lights dimmed, the doors closed, and the ceiling turned into the night sky. The hover began to take flight, and as it made it to the center of the room, the meeting began. And so does the story.

Great background on Shizo's political history. Although you want "province", not "providence". Just a minor correction. And, as always, watch your verb tense agreement. So are all the Emperors related to each other? I'm wondering if one family stepped forward to take on the responsibility of resurrecting the country. Also, much better details of the clothing - I meant to mention that from Ch. 7. It satisfies the girly side of me. :) I can't wait to see how Jack is affected by his encounter.

Thank you very much for reading the last chapter SMB!

I have a tendancy to say "providence" instead of "province" for some odd reason, and no one ever corrected me on that till now. Thank you for that! Now I won't feel like a fool anymore,

I'm glad you like Shizo's political history. You will read more about it in the future, trust me. Also, as for the family, I can't tell you, Again, I'll mention that in the near future. I think in the next three chapters, maybe.

And, yes, expect something about Jack. Once again, I don't want to give anything away. You are one step ahead of me, ;)

Now that I got those chapters out of the way, I can write the ones that I've been itching to write for the longest time. Yes, they should be interesting, and worth reading.

Once again, SMB, thank you so much for reading this far!

Excellently written chapter, my friend. Your descriptions were sufficient, making this chapter enjoyable for reading. I especially enjoyed your descriptions on the clothing and the places, something I have difficulty doing myself.

This chapter seems like a deep breath before the climax, and no smiles will be split for the couple chapters yet to come. I really enjoyed the ambience you've created in this chapter; it makes me nervous about what's to come and the possible treacheries that might happen in the senate. Also, I like the your conception of the senate, which seems quite dictatorial. Unlike reality where emperors were supressors, in your story it is completely different. Strangely though, the senate meeting hall sounded a whole lot like a scene I remember from the Star Wars Episode Two book I've read last year. Your reference to Seto Kaiba seemed intriguing, though I wouldn't wholly suggest you do it in the future as not everyone knows of Yu-Gi-Oh. But then, make references as you prefer :).

Your conventions are vastly improving, an excellent sign!

Well, I'm sure this story will go very well and find it in the Archives. Best of luck!

Thank you so much for reading the last chapter Neo! BTW, I like you new banner

Yes, I got the idea of the Senate from Star Wars, but only from the movies. I didn't get the chance to read the books yet. I'm still working on the Harry Potter series. Also, I didn't want the Royals to be that powerful, so I figured that I'll add the Senate to the story. In the next chapter, you will see what will happen next

As for Seto Kiaba, I couldn't write what he was wearing for some odd reason. So, with much frustration, I just wrote "Seto Kiaba" down to make it much easier on me. Trust me, and you know how much I like creativity, it will be rare for me to do that.

Once again my friend, thank you so much for reading this far.

Ah, intriguing. No wonder why it was so familiar. Anyway, it is a great pleasure reading this story as the plot is very suspenseful with a cohort of realistic characters.

P.S. Thanks for your comment on my banner. It is from the cover of the His Dark Materials trilogy.

Good luck, and hope you'll put a new chapter up soon!

Thanks and you're welcome Neo!

I just edited the last chapter guys. Once again, I added something, and it is at the beginning of the chapter. You'll notice it. I did it because the next chapter could make more sense. And speaking about the next chapter, I just started typing it, so I might post it tonight or tomorrow after my 10 hour shift (11am - 9pm...yuk!)

I also would like to add, I'm planning on doing something interesting...something to keep this fic more entertaining. While I was reading the R.I.P. thread in the Writer's Lounge, I thought, "Hey, maybe I can do a question and answer thing, and/or maybe a game." I've seen it done before. And just now I was looking at these:

:pokegb2:
:gym4:
:gym2:
:orange1:

..and I was thinking "Hey, I could use these too." Maybe like a prize or something for you guys to put in your sigs, or just to see and feel proud that you won something.

I'll think some more about it.

'Till then, I'll be posting the next chapter sometime tonight, tomorrow, or the next day after tomorrow.

Thanks again guys!

Yes, I can see why you added that first bit in. It shows just how far the Senate will go to regain power, if they're willing to undermine the interplanetary treaty.

I can't wait for the next chapter. Evil 10-hour shifts. I just hope the tips are good.

Don't worry too much about a gimmick for your story. I would keep reading even if I was the only one, because your story's that good. Fanfic's not dying, it's just the time of year. Only do a game if you're really into it. Ah, don't mind me anyway, I've got the flu. :sweat3: :dead:

Yes, evil ten hour shifts, and I only recieved a total of fifteen dollars in tips. Well, it isn't that bad beacuse I only served six tables, and we weren't not busy at all! I mean, I was getting paid to lay down at the booth for a few hours.

Anyways, that gave me a lot of time to think about Chapter Ten! And here it is!

Chapter Ten

The Senate

The hover took flight with the Royals sitting in their assigned thrones, the ambassadors entered in their assigned rooms where they would watch the meeting via sphere televisions, and outside the Senate Building, the weather changed dramatically once more.

My fellow Senators! announced Farore, as the hover stopped in the center of the room, and as she stood up from her throne.

Outside the building, the light blue sky changed dramatically to an ugly shade of gray. Hundreds of people in Beville stopped and watched as a gray shadow took over their beautiful sky. Many were flabbergasted by the change, and a few ran from fright to the Temple of Souls to hide.

Back at the building, Farore continued as every Senator sat in their seats in their assigned balconies, Ive received word this morning, from your letter, that you want to do away with the newcomers! And you disagree with my Planetary Trade Treaty!

Suddenly powerful winds gusted through everything: trees, buildings, and everything in its way. Many people were caught in it and took off. Some landed into trees, some landed against the buildings, and a few landed in ponds, lakes, or ocean and ended up drowning. The winds were so powerful, that it beat the record hurricane and tornado wind speed.

What is the meaning of this?! question Farore to the Senate, You wrote in your letter that they steered me into thinking that Jupiter and Saturn started the attack, when in reality, they did?!

Watching from the top of the Senate Building, Shadow smiled evilly as dark clouds took over the skies. Lighten struck every citizen running or hiding, and golf ball-sized hail broke each window in Beville, but all except for the Senate building.

Farore slammed her fist on the hovers railings, and yelled, If I had my way I would get rid of this Senate, and rule this province and country on my own! The senators yelled back at her, but it was hard to hear what they were saying.

Quickly, Enrique stood up from his throne, and slightly touched Farores right shoulder to show her that she was out of line. As she looked back at him, he nodded her to sit back down, and he waited till the Senators calmed down.

He continued in a calmed manner, We are being irrational with this.

Suddenly, a dark portal opened in the sky. Hundreds of people stopped to see this large warm hole-like portal. They could see inside it, and it wasnt the perfect picture. Thousands of zombies working on machines, no plants, no water, but only death. It looked like hell with fire flaming all over the place.

Enrique continued as he got everyones attention, Yes, we have decided that the destruction of the temple was a terrorist attack, but whats absurd is that we cannot decide who did it. There isnt any evidence to prove who did.

People stood in fright to watch the portal. It showed them a new world; a world like any other. It was their nightmare; their ultimate fear. It was the darkness of all darkness. It was ...

The gate to the Evil Realm has opened, stated Shadow, as he watched the portal taking up the whole sky. Then he looked at the distance to watch Jack hiding in Jewels arms, while they hid behind the palaces gates, And it is all thanks to you, my boy.

But I know for a fact that it wasnt the newcomers! yelled Enrique, as he tried to prove a point to the Senate.

Suddenly, behind Shadow, a woman appeared. She was tanned, had black, curly, long hair with dark red highlights, an evil grin, red luscious lips, and her body seemed like she was in a Playboy magazine. Her tight dark red dress was strapless and sleeveless, and it ended right above her knees.

Shadow, my dear friend, she said in such a smooth tone, What have you been doing? I hope bringing the world to its knees. She stopped right next to him, and petted his muscular horse-like neck.

Shadow answered, All in all, Vanessa, Ive been doing what my master commanded me to do. Then he looked down upon her as she moved her eyes to look up at him, And that was to bring the Apocalypse.

She didnt laugh, nor cracked a smile, but only her eyes shown how wonderful this was, My dear Shadow. The Apocalypse had already risen, and it sends us a new mission.

And that is?

To bring the light into darkness.

Shadow sniggered, Well, then, shall we?

Vanessa nodded her head, Yes, lets. Plus, I really have the urge to screw up the Senate today.

Enrique inhaled slowly as he finished talking, and waited for the Senate to take over. And they did. A senator from his province pressed a blue button so his balcony could move to the center hover. As it moved, the senator spoke as if he totally disagreed with Enrique and Farore.

Proof? he questioned in such an attitude tone, What proof do you need? They fled your palace didnt they?

Farore stoop up in a flash, How do you know that!? Who told you!?

The senator flickered his eyebrows and mimic her, How? My lady, we know everything!

Nonsense! yelled Rawlly from her throne, You found out from somebody! Tell us now!

The senator refused to answer Rawllys question, Empress Farore, you knew that they did it, and so you made them fled to hide once you made your speech a day ago, isnt that correct?

Mateo stood up from his throne, walked up to Farore, and gently held onto her shoulders, Whats the meaning of this!? This isnt a court! This is a Senate! he yelled to the senator.

Farore moved Mateos hands away from her shoulders, and said in a whispering tone, No Mateo, they are right.

Enrique, Mateo, and Rawlly gasped as they heard Farore agreeing with the senator from the Northern Province. Enrique knew something was up.

She continued, and stated to the Senate, Yes, I did make them flee somewhere safe! But they didnt do it! If you can open up your damn eyes, and see the reality of it all; we are not only facing a terrorist attack, but soon a war!

Prove it Empress! yelled the senator.

I cant! she yelled back.

Fine then! The senator stopped as he opened up his black folder, and read a piece of paper out loud, By the order of the Senate, we declare that Empress Farore, ruler of Western Province, to step down from her position and give it to the Senate.

Farore felt weak in the knees, and soon fell to the floor. Only her hands kept her whole body from falling down, her head hung low, and her body shaking. She felt that she lost the war, and a new war will start, and all over an argument about who did what in the terrorist attack. Even though ...

It wasnt a terrorist attack! yelled Enrique at the top of his lungs, Damn it! Do you realize that Farore, Mateo, Rawlly and I kept you guys and gave you limited of power, and this is the thanks we get?! Then he pointed down at Farore as Rawlly and Mateo were comforting her as she cried her eyes out, You cannot relieve her from her position! It is up to the people! Not the Senate!

Suddenly, before the senator spoke about Enriques statement, a portal up above the ceiling opened, and Vanessa appeared sitting on an eggshell-like black chair. She had her legs crossed, and her right finger slightly moving around the outline of her sliver, sparkling, thick, necklace.
Everyone in the room looked up at the chair as it slowly moved to where the senator and the Royals were at. Farore, Mateo, and Rawlly got up from the floor and stood right next to Enrique; each one of them looked frightened.

Wow, am I late? she questioned in a bitchy tone, Im so sorry about my tardy, but you know how it is. Terrorist attacks one after another, but dont threat, Im here.

Everyone watched as she snapped her fingers, and a dark, red, feathered fan appeared in her right arm, and she began fanning herself, Oh my. What do we have here? she questioned as she looked upon Enrique, Farore, Rawlly, and Mateo. Well, if it isnt the Royals of Shizo. Just the people I wanted to talk to.

Wha..wha..wha.., Mateo tried to ask a question, but he was too afraid to.

Rawlly closed Mateos mouth, so she could say, What are you doing here? And who are you?!

Vanessa laughed like a rich woman, My dears, sorry for not introducing myself, she continued to fan herself, My name is Vanessa, Ambassador of Jupiter. And Im here before you to talk about Jupiter and Saturns treaty.

Enrique raised one eyebrow, and he was confused about all of this. What is going on? Could Farore be right about war coming? Could this very meeting bring us to war against Jupiter and Saturn? Why do I think too much? Maybe I should just stand here and let everyone else take care of this. He thought to himself.

What treaty would that be? question Rawlly, as she tried to keep calm about this. Even though she felt like she would explode, and go after Vanessa like a pack of wolves.

Vanessas chair came closer to the Royals, and she answered, Surrender your planet, and live under our laws. Simple as that.

The senator from the Northern Province quickly answered for the Royals, Never! We will never surrender to such treaty!

Vanessa mimicked the senator, and quickly grabbed a gun from her chair. She didnt look back, and she didnt even check where and who she was shooting at. While pointing the gun at the senator, she pulled the trigger and shot him.

The senator looked down at the bullet hole where his heart was located. He slightly touched it, and examined the blood on his right pointer finger. Then, he looked back up to The Royals as they were practically at the edge of their hover, and looked at him as if their were loosing a friend, even though he wanted to do away with Farore.
As he gasped for his last breath, his body rocked back and forth, and suddenly, he fell forward, and off the hover. Each senator gasped as they watched him diving head first, and hitting the marble floor. The head tucked into his chest like a turtle, and his chest collapsed. It was the end of the senator.

The senators quickly left their balconies and ran for cover. Usually, the only place for them to hid was either the first section of the building, or outside the building. Either way, they had no where to hide.

Vanessa didnt laugh, but she smiled so evilly. Nor she didnt speak, she just pointed the gun at the Royals, and waited for their response. The Royals, however, suddenly took a couple of steps back, and held on to each other. They stared at her blood thirsty dark red eyes.

Miguel watched the whole thing on the sphere television. He quickly feel backwards in a couch, and tried to calm himself down. His heart pounded so fast and loud, his breathing became hard to control; it was like he was having a heart attack.

Lady Tonya, Zack -- the Ambassador of Southern Province --, and Maroon entered Miguels room and felt the same way as he did. They all grouped together on the red leather couch, and watched as the Royals were staring at their grim reaper.

Meanwhile, Vanessa continued pointed her gun at the Royals as they continued walking slowly behind their thrones, and had no where else to back into as they ended up at the edge of their hover. So, do we have a deal?

Farore quickly answered, and yelled, Never!

Suit yourself, Vanessa said, as she pulled the trigger and shot Farore.

The bullet hit directly in her right shoulder, and the speed of it caused her to fall off the hover, but luckily Mateo and Rawlly quickly grabbed a hold of her legs.

Enrique, on the other hand, snarled at Vanessa as she laughed hysterically as she watched Rawlly and Mateo trying to bring Farore back up on the hover. He had enough of this, so he quickly grabbed his sword from its black and golden sheath.

It was a sword unlike any other. The blade wasnt metal and silver, but it was clear and crystal, the golden handle was like a General sword from the Civil War, and inside the blade were strings of red and gold decorated inside it. This sword was Enriques pride and joy as it never let him down.

He quickly ran towards Vanessa, and she watched. She wasnt frightened, but yet she was waiting for him to do that. It was like she was expecting this. With that, she pointed the gun at him and pulled the trigger once more, but Enrique stopped it by using his sword and jumped off the hover.

Vanessas hover was close enough to the Royals hover so that Enrique was able to land on top of it. She felt her hover bouncing as Enrique landed on top of it, and tried to shoot at him, but kept missing, and soon she used up all of her bullets.

When she tried refilling her gun, Enrique stood up on top of the black, egg-shell like chair, and raised the sword with the blade pointing downwards. Just as she finished refilling her gun, Enrique yelled No ****ing treaty!

He used all his force and might to launch his sword through the metal chair, and stabbed Vanessa. She quickly yelled in pain and dropped her gun as the blade pierced through her right shoulder. It felt worse than a paper cut, and she could even feel her collar bone splitting in two pieces.

Enrique lifted his sword back out of the chair, but it ended up stuck, and still it was in Vanessa. He tried wiggling it out, but it only created much pain for her, and she had enough of it. Her body suddenly started sparking with black and dark red sparks. The lighting quickly ran up the blade, and then it hit Enrique.

He felt his body getting shocked, and shaking. He couldnt control himself, and started to loose his grip. As he let go of his sword, he quickly feel backwards into the dark, and would fall to his death; laying right next to the senator that was killed earlier.

The Ambassadors dashed out of the couch and crowded in front of the screen and watched as Enrique was falling to his death. Miguel quickly grabbed the screen and yelled, You cant die like this! Think of something! Someone! HELP!

And someone did help. Honker flew into the meeting room, and took off up where Enrique was at. He quickly grabbed on to him as he was almost twenty feet off from the floor, and took him on the floor, right next to the dead senator.

Enrique was out of breath and dizzy. All he could do was to sit there and watch, but Honker stood right next to him, and he too was watching what was happening.

Meanwhile, Vanessa finally released herself from Enriques sword, and she used all her might to take the sword out of her chair. When she did, she quickly threw it to the Royals hover just when Mateo and Rawlly were able to bring Farore back on.

When it landed right next to Mateo, it startled him, but enough to make him pissed even more. He quickly turned around just when Rawlly moved over Farore so she can protect her. As he took a couple of steps to the center of the hover, he yelled, No one! And I mean NO ONE! Shoots or tries to kill my family! Got that *****!?

Vanessa laughed mechanically once more as she was grabbing onto her right shoulder, Aw, arent we such a family man. She had a hard time speaking, as each word she said she coughed up a little bit of blood.

Mateo couldnt keep his rage inside anymore. He had to do what he thought was right, and that was to get rid of her, even if it could lead to war.

Rawlly, Farore, Honker, Enrique, and the Ambassadors watched as Mateo screamed at the top of his lungs. His jacket suddenly looked like it was flying; it was if Mateo was standing on top of a large fan. His hair moving all over the place, his body lit in blue flames, and his eyes glowing bright blue.

You asked for it, he said as he pulled out four cards from inside his jackets pocket.

Each card was white with movable water on one side, and as he flipped them to show Vanessa, each card had a full white moon in a black background. As he tossed the cards in the air, each card moved on its own, and together they created a circle in front of him.

As each card glowed, they formed a circular blue design in front of him. Along side the blue lines, were ancient writings that glowed on and off, but as Mateo spoke the words, they turned into a golden color.

The stars above herd my plea., he said out loud, as he folded his hands like a praying samurai. You, who have disturbed the peace, shall face the consequences of a mighty power.

Vanessas eyes widen and her mouth wide opened as she noticed that she couldnt move. She watched in helplessness as Mateo stood before her, on the Royals hover, with a magic barrier in front of him. The magic barrier glowed bright, and in the center, energy particles were being collected in a blue sphere.

Mateo used the samurai sign language to spell out the last spell, and yelled out LUNAR RAY!

The blue sphere suddenly let out a large blue beam with white moons swirling around it. Vanessa tried her best to get out of this mess, but it was too late. The beam directly hit her, and she felt her body being torn into millions of pieces, and her blood boiling. The best way to describe it would be she was heading towards the surface of the sun.

As the magic barrier disappeared, as Mateo went back to normal, Vanessa disappeared along with her hover. No one didnt know where she ended up at, but it was for certain that they would meet her again in the future. Real soon.

Mateo quickly walked up to Farore as she tried getting up, but her body felt weak, Are you okay?

Farore looked up at him as she tried to attempt to smile, Yes, cousin, Im fine.

From below Enrique feel backwards purposely and looked up at the space ceiling. He felt relived that event was all over, and that the Senate got their evidence about who done what. Though, he knew this was only the beginning, and would see Vanessa soon. But, he said, Honker.

Honker looked down upon him, Yes?

Thanks.

Honker smiled, and responded, Anything for you, bud.

However, this wasnt over. Miguel came running into the meeting hall with Zack, Lady Tonya, and Maroon following behind him. Enrique looked at them and their frightened expressions. He could only guess what was going to come out of Miguels mouth.

We have trouble outside! Yelled Miguel at the top of his lungs so Farore, Rawlly, and Mateo can hear him, The city is under attack!

Ah, at last, it is come! A brilliant chapter with the most action. Vanessa sounded really immature; it reminds me of this character in His Dark Materials. And I was quite surprised at what happened to the Senator because he was all antagonistic, but I guess there are always someone more evil.

Enrique's actions were courageous and luck always seems to collect him with open arms.

But what was most surprising was Mateo's use of his weapons; I could never have predicted that to happen.

An astounding achievement, Master Tut!

EDIT: Ahh, the 50th post benchmark. Congratulations! _~

Thank you my friend for reading!

AND YES! NEW ERA IS ON ITS 50TH POST!

:k-rad:  :lemon:

Well, tech, its on its 51st post. So, congrats to you, Neo, for be the 50th post!

Anyways, yes, Vanessa does sound immature...just they way I wanted her to be, but I'm trying to get her to be more of a b!tch. Sorry for such language, but thats what I can come up with in a flash. But, immature is the best way to describe her.

As for Enrique, well, no one isn't really lucky, and with that, I really don't want to give the whole thing away. And as for Mateo, well, that was a surprise, and it was hard for me not to lead you guys to that. Very hard.

So, my friend Neo, thank you so much for replying again!

PS. What happened to your banners? I was going to comment about your newest banner for you fic..it was very eye catching!

Congratulations on 50 posts! This story is getting really interesting. Vanessa does sound immature. I know you're going for the casual, b*tchy evil character, but she is just a bit too shallow, like a demon straight out of Charmed. ^^;;

At the beginning of the chapter, it was confusing when you switched between the Senate, and what was happening outside. It took me a minute to figure it out, but I like that device. You just need to separate the two scenes so we can distinguish between them.

Funniest paragraph:

He used all his force and might to launch his sword through the metal chair, and stabbed Vanessa. She quickly yelled in pain and dropped her gun as the blade pierced through her right shoulder. It felt worse than a paper cut, and she could even feel her collar bone splitting in two pieces.
:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: It felt worse than a paper cut?! So the next time one of my kids gets a paper cut I can tell them, At least you didn't get stabbed by a crystal sword!

Tutankhamun
13th June 2004, 07:06 AM
Thank you SMB!

As for splitting the outside and the Senate sceens, I originally had it with these "****", but I felt it would be more effective and less messy if I just deleted them. It would happen very often, though.

As for the paper cut, lol, I'm glad you thought that was funny. While I was writing that part, I was listening to the television in the room next door, and there was this comedian. I think it was Elen Degenerous (sp). And she mentioned about the wrose things. She mentioned about opening up the pickle jar, and using the pickle claw (which I HAVE to use that in my story sometime in the future!), and getting pickle juice in your eye. Meanwhile, I was laughing, and thought "Hey! Maybe I should mention something like that, but in what?" So when I looked over the chapter, I read that part and figured "Stabbing someone? What would that feel like? A paper cut?" So I used that. But, go ahead, tell you kids that, lol. I'm sure they will be confused.

But, I should change that because I sliced my pointer finger with a sharp knife at work yesterday (saturday), and it still hurts. Oh well, I'll use that next time.

Anyway, thank you so much for replying and reading! I hope your feeling much better now. Getting the flu in June must've sucked.

I don't know when I'm posting the next chapter, but I have today off, so I'll probably start writing it sometime soon.

Thanks again Neo and SMB for reading this far!

Hey guys! Long time no see!

Well, this isn't a post for the next chapter, but more like an apologizing letter for the delay. I've been busy with work and I bought this new game (Final Fantasy XI .... yeah, I'm a FF freak, lol), and I'm hoked on it. But it is giving me lots of ideas about the next chapter. Which, I would like to mention, that I have writer's block. I know what to write for the next two chapters after this next chapter, but I can't write them till I get this chapter done. But don't threat, it will be up sometime this weekend, or before I go on my family vacation (June 24-27).

I just felt like I should post this because I really don't want you guys to be upset that I haven't posted in a long time. Once again, I'm sorry for the delay, and I promis you that the next chapter will be up soon.

But till then ...

Yoda Yoda!

That's OK, writer's block sucks! Why don't you go ahead and write the chapters you know? Something you put in may help you figure out how Ch. 11 should go. Then you can go back and build the bridge between Chs. 10 and 12. I'd rather wait a little longer for a chapter and let you get it the way you want it, instead of insisting on a quick, halfway done job (like I'd ever do that  ). Enjoy your family vacation. Hope you're going somewhere fun.

Neo-Xantios
19th June 2004, 01:29 AM
Aww, writer's block. I remember I cancelled my first fic before due to that. But I'm sure you'll get over it very soon because you have a great incentive, unlike what I had. But like Suite Madame Blue said, I would have you spend all your effort to produce a quality chapter. You are certainly producing a well-plotted story that deserves recognition.

P.S. Yeah, I've strayed into an FF X-2 site this one day and saw the word "Beville". So I thought you'd like FF.

I hope you enjoy your vacation. I still have extra lessons for Economics -_-'.

Suite Madame Blue

I had a dream about that evil honker the other night. He was flying around starting fires, and making the weather so hot the air tankers couldn't take off from the airport. I must explain, the area I live in is very dry, and the enviros essentially rule. They put the "mental" in enviromentalism. Cutting down any trees, even thinning, offends them. Thinning baaad, fire goood. There's so much fuel out there it's scary. No wonder I had that nightmare. :mad2:

On to happier subjects! Dunno if you've started your vacation yet, but I'm leaving myself, for 3 weeks. I will probably be able to read, but not post, so at least I can keep up. I'm posting this here instead of making a "goodbye" topic because this way you'll definitely see it, and this is the only thread I really care about right now. Enjoy your vacation! I'll enjoy mine, and see you next month!

And Neo, good luck with Economics!

Hola gentes!

First off, I'm currently writing Chapter 11 so it should be posted sooonnn.

Secondly, I hope you have fun at your vacation SMB! Three weeks? Thats pretty long, but I guess it is somewhere that is worth to go for three weeks! Once again, have fun and happy travel! [sidenote to self] Maybe my friends and I should take an American trip from east coast to west coast [/sidenote to self]. Also, you had a dream about the evil honker! WOW! I guess I really did made an impact on someone's dream! I don't know what to say...I'm honored that you had a dream of him, but sad that he was giving you a nightmare. But, wow, you had a dream about him. Wow.

Neo, good luck in Economics! I really didn't learn anything from it, but that is probably because my teacher was talking too much about Gamecube and XBox. I swear he got his degree from a McDondals' napkin. I'm also taking a politics/globalization class next semester yay . And, yes, writer block sucks.

Thridly, I did enjoy my vacation. I went camping at Cooks Forest with my family, and stayed in a cabin. My brother and I rode the horses and saw some wildlife, my family and I went canoeing (which was a blast!), we saw domestic whitetailed deer (normally they are brown, but there were white, brown and white...cross breadign should happen...but that is just me). We went hiking and had loads of fun on the rope bridge....I love that bridge. And we also enjoyed the forest itself. It was very nice!

Okay, so, I'm going to post soon. I just started writing it, and I have today and tomorrow off (a five day vacation..I'm loving it.). I hope you guys will enjoy the next chapter.

YAY! You're BACK, Master Tut! I'm glad to hear you had a wonderful vacation. The last time I had that kind of vacation was when I was in South Africa about five or six years ago.

Thank you also, SMB and Tut, for offering me luck in Economics. I am very grateful. But my final exam results are out already and I got a 75/100 in Economics (Though the highest in our grade got 89/100); the paper was quite difficult.

I really didn't learn anything from it, but that is probably because my teacher was talking too much about Gamecube and XBox.

LOL! Anyway, is that an example of competitive supply?

Good luck with your next chapter! I can't wait to read it.

I UPDATED! YAHOO!

Okay, a month later and now I will post the next chapter! It is a total 10 pages, but it would've been longer if I didn't split it into two different chapters. So, without further adue(sp), I'm posting the next chapter!

The chapter, to me, seems a little bit "fast". I'm going to look at it again tonight, and edit it again...but nothing like major editing.

PS. Neo, i have no idea if it was a competitive supply is, but I might have a general idea, lol. Like I said...the teacher was, well, stupid. During the tests he would talk about how his girlfriend is mad at him b/c he didn't go out with her, and meanwhile, he was playing his XBox. When I take Econ in college, I will be lost. But, oh well.

(I'll post music later tonight)

Chapter XI

Battle for Beville!

Thousands of toadish, slimy, dark green creatures, known as orcs, rampaged the city of Beville. Thousands of citizens ran for the lives. Many fled to ships; a few stayed and fought to protect their families and houses -- most were men. And the rest fled to hide.

The orcs used clubs, swords, arrows, or anything they can get their hands on to kill each person that stood in their way. Their direction; to the palace. Of course, the Royals and the Ambassadors were at the Senate at the time.

They stood and watched at the entrance doors of the Senate Building. Farore wept, Mateo clutched his fists, Rawlly turned away and cried her eyes out, and Miguel, Zack, and Lady Tonya stood and watched and observed what was going on while Maroon was crying along with Farore and Rawlly. Meanwhile, Enrique was watching Jewels and Jack as they were hiding behind a large Shizoian tree on Main Street.

How could this happen? questioned Rawlly as she was crying, We had no warnings or anything!

Mateo looked down at the ground while he was clutching tightly, and shivered as he tried to keep his emotions steadily, We have to stop them. We have to save our people.

Miguel walked up to Enrique and said quietly, Enrique, I ...

Enrique interrupted Miguel; ...I need to save them, Miguel. I need to protect them.

I understand, but..

Miguel, Enrique turned to glare at him. His eyes told Miguel that he had feelings for her, and wished to protect her. I need to.

Miguel sighed, Okay. If you wish.

Enrique smiled, and turned to face his friends and family, Listen. I would like the Ambassadors to go to the palace, and find out what is going on. He said calmly. Farore, I want you to direct the people to the Soul Temple. Mateo, I want you to protect the docks. And Rawlly, I want you to protect the palace.

What about you? questioned Rawlly, as she looked up at him and wiped the tears from her cheeks.

Enrique turned, and gazed at the deadly city, Im going to save a friend of him.

Farore knew what he was talking about, but the others didnt; other than Maroon and Miguel. But, they didnt had time to question any further. They had to go and save the city from destruction.

After when they hugged each other for good luck, they dashed away from the building, and headed to their posts. The Ambassadors went towards the palace with Rawlly leading them to it. Mateo headed to the opposite direction to the docks, and Farore hopped on to her honker, Swan, and together they headed towards the Soul Temple on the other side of the city.

Enrique was left alone. He stood for another minute to get his thoughts straightened out. He couldnt go as Enrique to save Jewels and Jack; he had to go as John -- a normal everyday commoner like everyone else. However, he had Honker with him. He was always there when he needed him.

Honker landed right beside Enrique, and said, So, whats the plan?

Enrique hopped on Honker and answered, Drop me off in the dark alleyway by Jewels and Jack. Then I want you to go and take the rest of Jewels children to the temple.

Honker nodded in agreement, and took flight towards a dark alleyway where Enrique would change to his another identity unnoticed.

Miguel, Zack, Maroon, and Lady Tonya:

The four quickly entered the dark palace. Each room wasnt lit, and all that was keeping the place easier for them to maneuver was the lightening. The brightness only kept the rooms lit for a split second, but another one will follow after that.

With Lady Tonya leading the pack down a small hallway in the Right Wing, they had no troubles of getting lost. Maroon gripped tightly to Zacks black long sleeve, and Zack kept following closely behind Miguel. Miguel, on the other hand, wasnt worried too much about getting lost. It was just the fact that there was a war raging in the city, and Enrique was in the middle of it.

Finally, Lady Tonya leaded them to a large portrait of Farore at the end of the hallway. She was sitting at her throne with Univee and Swan in the background, but in the dark it was hard to see what they were doing. Only their white eyes were visible.

Lady Tonya yelled out Saha akahsha! and the portrait door suddenly opened as the hallway was lit again by another lightening bolt. The surprise scared Maroon, Miguel and Zack to death, as they cuddled close to each other.

Lady Tonya turned around to beckon them into another dark room. Quickly they rushed to it like a pack of dogs, and as they took their first step into it, they found themselves in a dark lab room with hundreds of brightly colored computers, buttons, lasers, and different machines that werent even invented during that time.

Each one went into their assigned area, and as soon as they sat down on a floating white eggshell-like chair, they began to type down information into the computers. The see-threw screens were being jammed with hundreds of pictures, words, and knick-knacks.

Wheres Knight?! yelled Zack as his hover-chair floated above the others to the next level of the dimensional lab.

Maroon answered, Hes not in here! I can tell ya that! In the first time in all week, Maroon was working hard at her computer to find out information about what was attacking them, but I can say that Orcs and Zombies are definitely attacking us.

Which can only mean.. stated Lady Tonya, as she was working hard on her computer.

Miguel interrupted Lady Tonya while he jumped out of his hover-chair and rushed to a machine close by, The Evil Realms gate opened!

The machine he ran too had four circular cameras floating around and creating a circle. Miguel went in the middle of it, and put on what looked like water goggles. But, with those glasses, he could see information rolling in front of him as if he was inside a computer.

Maroon answered sarcastically, ****! Now we are doomed for all eternity! Evil Realm is like the Pandoras Box! And twice as bad as hell!

But who couldve opened it?! questioned Zack, as he was working hard to answer his question via looking at camera footage from each temple in Shizo. So far I cant find anything!

Miguel answered, Well find out soon enough, in a calm tone.

He flicked a switch on the right side of the goggles. The machine said in a lady voice, Province- Western Shizo, city- Beville. The cameras began to speed up around Miguel, and suddenly showed holograms of Enrique, Farore, Rawlly, and Mateo.

State the name of person, please, stated the machine.

Miguel answered in a calm but serious tone, Mateo, Enrique, Rawlly, and Farore.

Names accepted. Please wait.

Miguel stood waiting for a second as sounds of words were being processed threw the computer main-frame, and blue, red, and white lasers were forming holograms of Mateo, Enrique, Rawlly, and Farore.

Analyzing complete, state the computer, when the holograms were finished, Command?

Miguel stood silent as he watched each hologram flashing in front of him. Each hologram were showing actions of each person, and underneath it were green lines showing how much energy, strength, power, and health they have left. It was like he was in a video game.

Status reports! yelled Miguel.

Mateo:

Out in the dark sea, hundreds of wooden Viking-like ships floated silently towards the Bevillian Dock. The thick fog covered their existence, the smalls waves hit against the ships, and the ships rocked from side to side as each little wave hit them.

The ocrish soldiers quietly watched the battle raging. Their toady mouths smirked as they heard the screams in the distance. Each one carried an axe, a large sword, or a whip. Their armor was thick and rusty, but their large bodies were good enough to protect them.

The captain of the crew, who was in the leading ship and stood at the tip of it, watched carefully as the city became more visible. He didnt smirk nor didnt look too happy; however he looked bloodthirsty for human flesh and blood.

As his holey, long, black cape flowed against the silent wind, he turned around to face his comrades behind him. He spoke to them in a toad-tone of voice, Get ready to fire!

The orcs quickly scattered around the boat like a pack of lost ants, and positioned the cannons toward the city. One orc stood behind it for fire, and the other placed a large black cannon ball into the long black barrel. Afterwards, the loader moved behind the cannon and waited for the captain to yell out fire.

Meanwhile, Mateo was walking on a long wooden dock. The ships that were once attached to it disappeared, and medium sized waves crash into wooden beams. As each step he took, the boards cracked below him. It wouldnt be long until the rickety dock will collapse underneath him.

His long, short sleeved, silver coat moved along the gust of wind as the wind changed its direction toward him. He had on a long blue bandanna that covered most of his hair except the back, no t-shirt, but long, dark blue, pirate pants with a large, long black belt, and black boots. It was a quick change from his emperor suit.

As he got to the end of the dock, he moved the right side of his jacket so he can reach into the inside pocket. He grabbed four cards with white on one side and blue on the other. Both sides had no writings or symbols on them.

From afar, the orc captain saw a faint image of a man standing at the edge of a dock. He smirked and yelled out to his comrades, Look at this stupid guy! He thinks he can get us!

The orcs replied by laughing in a mechanical toadish tone.

The captain turned around seriously and yelled out, Stop laughing fools! Now fire at that guy!

The orcs stopped laughing in a heart beat, and did as they were told. Suddenly, the orcs fired together at Mateo. The force of the shot made the cannons move backwards, but the orcs stopped it before it went further back. As for the cannon balls, they took off like a bullet.

The captain laughed to himself as he watched the cannons took flight and heading toward Mateo. But he stopped as he noticed the direction of them changed, and they hit below Mateo, and hit the beams that support the dock.

What?! screamed the captain as he hit his fist on the wooden railing.

As the smoke and mist cleared away, the captain growled once he noticed the man that once stood on top of the dock, was now standing on top of a large rock.

Mateo was able to change the direction of the cannon balls, and made them hit the supports so he had enough time to jump. While he was in the air and the dock below him was bursting into little pieces, he parted the sea below him to reveal a large rock. Once he landed, the parted sea created a U shape around him.

Fire at will! yelled the captain, I want his body parts on a platter! And row the boat faster slaves!

The zombies that were once Bevillian civilians rowed the boats as fast as they could. Pain and tiredness wasnt the issue while they were rowing. They had no idea what was going on and they completely lost control of themselves. It was if their lives were conquered by the orcs.

Mateo set the four cards in front of him like he did at the Senate building. As each stayed in their position and created a circle around him, they glowed with a bright blue color. Then he positioned himself for his attack. He folded his hands like a samurai and closed his eyes.

The ships appeared from the fog and sped up just like what the captain ordered them too, but it was too late for them. Mateo fired his attack upon them. It wasnt a beam, but a water funnel. But it didnt appear from the sky, it appeared below the ships.

The captain quickly turned around to see his ships being engulfed by huge water funnels. It swallowed the ships up like a tornado. The ships moved around the outside of it, and as they got to the top they were swallowed into a dark abyss.

No! cried the captain.

Mateo opened his eyes to watch his few dozen large water funnels stopping each ship, Theres no escaping now. The great ocean has decided your fate.

The captain heard the voice echoing in his head. He quickly glanced at Mateo, and suddenly he found himself being engulfed by a funnel that appeared right below his ship. He tried jumping off, but before he took his first step, he was eaten by a dragon that was totally made out of water.

Slowly the funnels disappeared, and all that was left were ship parts. Mateo opened up his coat pocket, and the cards went in all by themselves. As he turned around and walked off the rock, the water poured back into place, and he continued walking on top of it until he got to dry land.

Rawlly:

Meanwhile, by the palace gates, Rawlly was helping out with the solders. She was using bow and arrows to shot each orc as they took a step closer to the gate. Her cape --- that was actually a really thick scarf --- moved along with the wind, and her long sleeve turtleneck top kept her warm.

But the temperature wasnt her problem, it was the fact that she was running out of arrows. As she grabbed an arrow from behind her and shot it with ease, she only imaged what would happen if she ran out of them as she reached back to grab another.

Do we have anymore ammo?! Rawlly yelled to the solder that was to her right.

He answered back as he shot an orc threw its throat, No! This is all we have!

****! answered Rawlly as she used her last arrow and hit an orc right between his eyes. There has to be a way to stop them from coming any further!

The solder took his last shot, and looked at her, May I suggest retreat my lady? He said with such sarcasm.

There are more coming this way! yelled a solder from the ground defensive line, We dont have enough ammo to hold them all back!

Retreat! yelled a group of solders that were running towards the ground defensive line, Theyre coming!

No! commanded Rawlly as she gave the solder her bow, No retreat!

As the orcs came closer to the gate, and the solders were backing up against it as they used up their last arrow, Rawlly jumped from the top and landed in front of them. Her light blue cape followed along with the wind as it changed direction again.

As she slowly got up, she casually brushed off the dirt from her body and waited until the orcs were close to the gate. Just when they busted threw the defensive line like a herd of rhino, she smirked and yelled out, Come and get it!

Quickly she raised her right hand upwards and her palm facing the sky. Suddenly a light blue, icy ball appeared. Swirls of clouds surrounded it and pieces of ice glittered. Finally, she used all her strength to thrust the ball on the road.

The orcs stopped in their track as they watched one third of the ball melting into the road and tree-like icy blue roots slithered towards them like snakes. They slowly began to walk backwards, but it was too late; the icy roots grabbed hold of them and turned each orc into a frozen statue as it slithered around their bodies.

The solders behind Rawlly were flabbergasted. As she stood up once again, she turned around and said with a smile, So, now do you want to retreat?

Every solder quickly answered by shaking their heads as if they were to say no, she would use that attack on them. Such things can scare the courageous guy, and Rawlly knows the secret to it.

* * * * *

At the top of the senate building, Shadow watched the citizens screaming and running towards the temple building. He also glanced at Mateo and Rawllys attacks. He didnt seem angry, but anxious to know whom the magical people were.

Suddenly, Vanessa appeared behind him from a dark portal. She didnt seem hurt nor tired. Just blood thirsty just like the rampaging orcs. As she stopped right next to Shadow, she said My dear, how are things?

Shadow didnt spoke a word. He just continued to watch the chaos that the Evil Realm was bestowing upon the city. However, Vanessa didnt like the silent treatment that he was giving her, but she lost her train of thought as she notice Mateo and Rawllys attack.

Powers? she said in a malevolent tone, Shadow, my dear, do you think they might be?

Shadow, once again, didnt answer.

Vanessa growled at the silent treatment that Shadow was giving her. You! Ungrateful! Fool! Answer me damnit! She moved in front of him and slapped him across his face. You know who they are! Tell me! I order you!

Shadow growled just when she smacked him, and he answered by lifting up his right front leg, and slapping her across hers. His paw was as big as her face, so the force was great and caused her to fly off her feet and almost sliding off the building roof.

She slowly got up with her hand on the side of her throbbing face, I see what this is about, she said as she tried to keep her anger to a minimum, You want to do this on your own. Then she was finally on her two feet, Fine then. Ill let you do this on your own. Suddenly a dark portal behind her appeared, But dont worry, Im going to make your life a living hell! Then she disappeared in the dark abyss.

As the portal disappeared, Shadow heard something landing behind him in the distance. He didnt look back, but continued looking forward at the battle. It was if he already knew who it was.

From a smoky abyss, Knight appeared, and he walked slowly towards Shadow, and said, You know why Im here.

Shadow didnt look back, but answered, You want me locked up again, Knight?

Knight stopped in his tracks, and looked at the sitting honker, Yes.

Shadow turned his head so he can take a good look at Knight, and said, Maybe next time. And he stood up on all fours, widened his large wings, and took flight to the other world in the sky.

Knight stood watched as Shadow slowly disappeared. He sort of expected that from Shadow, but until the time comes, he would be waiting for him.

Meanwhile, in what seemed like a space dimension, Vanessa appeared. Her black hair was floating all over the place, and her body from the knees down turned into a purple cloud It was if the space dimension had no gravity. But in the center of it, was a large crystal ball with the city of Beville in the center of it.

She smirked evilly as she went up to it. The stars glittered brightly as she touched the crystal ball lightly, and stated in a sinful tone, If Shadow wont tell me who the four are, then Ill have to do it myself. For my lordship, the Apocalypse.

Then she zoomed in closer to Main Street, and happily watched as the buildings were burning into nothingness. And then suddenly, she found a man running with a women and a child towards the intersection where Senate Street and Temple Street meet at. She recognized him as she zoomed in further.

Its the Emperor that I met earlier, she stated in a sly tone, I wonder what he is up too.

She moved her right fingers around. A dark purple cloud formed around them, and took shape into a creature like no other. The wings were like a bats, the body was muscular and the shape was a deer. The antlers looked bloody and large, the hooves turned into paws, and the teeth turned into fangs. It was if a wild deer was being mutated. They were known as Biggest-Tailed Deer; honkers worse enemy.

My darling, Vanessa said as the small miniature, clouded deer moved its head along side her pointed finger like a cat, Go and get that man and his girlfriend. Kill them if you must, but keep the boy alive and bring him to me unharmed.

Welp, two more chapters and I'm done with Part One. That means, I'm almost done with this fic! I'm trying to get it done before I start college, and then post New Era II during December. But, in between, I'm going to post a small story...probably 10-15 chapters long.

But till then..keep your eyes peeled for

Chapter XII

"Dreaming"

Pretty good! I remember reading this but I had to finish catching up and I did. Pretty good fic! Your description is very good, you describe things just right and not make it overdone but enough to give the idea what they look like and such an I can clearly picture them in my head.

Can't complain about length. Decent in every chapter. You get your point across for each chapter and I don't find myself sleeping during it. Spelling/Grammer is also good. Saw a couple mistakes here and there but not bad.

Overall, good. Can't wait for the next chapters. This is dark and creepy imo and your banner is cool. Keep it up!

I'm baaack! Glad to see you got over your writer's block, and in a big way too - this chapter was good! I really liked your description of the battle scenes. You pack a lot of imagery into a few words. Also a very nice cliffhanger at the end as you leave us wondering about Enrique, Jewels, and Jack. Keep working on verb tense agreement. Your only blatant spelling error was "threw" instead of "through". Evil homophones! :mad2:

Vacation was great, very relaxing. We stayed at the beach house that my family's owned for 35 years. It was good to go there and see familiar people and places, but it's also nice to be back home and in a routine. Plus it's a 10-hour drive each way!

Neo and Tut: I didn't learn much in Economics either, and it was a college course! It took me TWO tries to pass, and all I remember are the definitions of mean, median, and mode, and a humorous definition in the glossary of my textbook: INDUCTION - The culinary art of stuffing a duck.

Enough rambling from me! I look forward to your next chapter!

OoooOOoo, I have replies! Awesome!

SMB: Welcome back! I'm glad to hear that your vacation went well! Also, I like to defenition of stuffing a duck..lol! I remember mean, medium, and mode from Stats that I took in high school, and Survey of Math in college. None of that was taught in my Econ class...but I have to take it soon...maybe when I transfer to Pittsburgh University.

As for the evil homophones and spelling, well, I didn't edit the past nor reread like I should. I was temped to post it before you come back, and before I start loosing my "writing" phase. But, yeah, I was expecting that from someone...I should, however, recheck it. But thanks for pointing that out!

As for the cliffhanger, I'm glad you caught that. That's all I have to say about that.

ID: OoOOooOoo, a new reader!? Welcome to New Era! lol!

Thank you so much for reading, and catching up with XI Chapters...it's good that you start now then later. And thanks for the comment about the banner! =D

I really don't want to give stuff away, but yeah, there is dark within this fic. You'll see in the near future. Heehee =)

Welp, I'm currently writing the next chapter. I still have a little bit of writer's block. I'm kindof stuck on which song I should post. Yes, the next chapter is a musical performance by Farore! I didn't want to give that away...but I figure I'll leave some suspence. Heehee =)

Well, till then...I'll post it sometime this week. Keep an eye out for the next chapter!

Letta!

At last, I return. I am sorry for my absence indeed, for I have not been around TPM for a long time. And I am very glad that you have finally composed your most exciting chapter so far, Master Tut! I am impressed!

The action was excellent and many parts remind me of the current novel I am reading called Ascedance by R.A. Salvatore. The personality of Shadow was profoundly familiar and the scene where Rawlly held the defence reminds me a little of Helms Deep from The Lord of the Rings. You've created excellent suspense at the end, and I was a little disappoint it didn't continue. Anyway, I look forward to your last two chapters of part one! (WOW! Almost to the end of part one. That was fast!)

OK, this is embarrassing, but I didn't realize until about midnight last night that I meant Statistical Analysis and NOT Economics! :nut: I was hoping to slip that into an edit before anyone caught it, but it's too late now. If it's any consolation, I took Economics half a lifetime ago in high school, and remember even less about it than Stats.

Neo: Welcome back again! You and SMB both caught the cliff hanger...which was very noticible. Anyway, thanks again for reading the last chapter. It was hard to write b/c I was trying to get out of my writer's block.

I was thinking what you said about Rawlly and LOTR. You're right, it does sound the same, but what is weird, I was thinking about that when I was writing that; however, I was listening to LOTR's Soundtrack. Maybe it was that.

And the other story, I haven't heard of it, but if it reminds you about Shadow then maybe I should. Shadow is one of my favorite characters in the story.

SMB: I was wondering about that, lol. I was thinking "Mean, Mediam, and Mode in econ???? I thought it was Stats?" And then you last post I was like, "Okay...I feel much better." I took Stats in my senior year as a college course, and took Survey of Math (which is Stats) in my first semester. The Mean, medium and mode are like stuck in my brain. Probably b/c I actually understand it, and it is easy to do.

Welcome to SMB, Neo, and Tut's coffee talk about Econ and Stats LOL! And about New Era on the side, lol.

Okay, now about the story. I'm just starting to write the next chapter. I probably will get it done this weekend. Tomorrow I'm going to Cedar Point with my family, and friday and saturday i'm working....as always, blah. Sunday I might go to Clevland to the museum w/ my friends at the Rock N' Roll Hall of Fame for this record show....maybe. But I have extra time to write it. I'm still having a hard time to pick a good song to fit with it.

Anywho, thanks for reading this far and not loosing intrest! You guys are great!

Now, I'm going to try something new. A questionair! Yehaww!

New Era: Darkness in the Light

What is your favorite character in the story so far? What you think is his/her's future? What kind of secrets is he/her holding? And why is the cahracter your favorite?

*Pours a mocha and gets comfortable*

I think I like Jewels the best, because: 1. I'm a sucker for romance, and I think Jewels and Enrique have a future together. Even though he's lying to her about his position. 2. She's a strong woman who doesn't take BS from anybody, and she's feminine without being a girly-girl. I can identify with that. 3. I can't think of a third, but points travel in packs of 3, and the first 2 would have been lonely. :what:

In the future, I think Jewels gets mad at Enrique for lying to her, and goes through a period of mistrust. Enrique is going to have to convince her that he is genuine, and that he had a very good reason for keeping his true identity from her. She'll eventually come around, but it'll take a while.

Jewels's secret: Unbeknownst to Enrique, she recognized him as the Emperor right away, and is playing along with his "commoner" act. She's waiting for him to 'fess up, and the longer he waits, the madder she'll get.

Have fun with your family, enjoy the R&R Hall of Fame, don't work too hard at the restaurant (just enough for some good tips), and happy writing. 8)

EDIT Aug. 10: I've been cleaning out the attic and found my Stats. textbook, the one with the humorous glossary, and I figured I'd share some pertinent "definitions:" Mean: the quality of thoughts you might have if your Stats. instructor flunked you. Median: the dividing line between safe driving and exciting driving. Mode: better than apple pie a la median.

Hello everyone! I'm baacckk!! lol

Sorry for the long 2 month vacation from the story. I've been working for 80+ hours, and I just started school. Now that I have time on my hands, I have time to start writing again! Yehaw! I'm also in a writing mood, lol.

Yes, SMB, the story shall continue! lol I overcame the terrible desease knows as "writer's block" and I shall write in a minute! And I shall post in a day. So, you'll expect the next chapter soon! I also picked a great song for this upcoming chapter too. So, I'm prepare, and ready to rumble! Ehm...I mean, write!

Once again, sorry for the long delay, but it will be well worth the wait now that I'm back, ready to write, and the ending of this story will blow your mind away (well, sortof, lol).

Thanks for reading the story! And I'll see you guys soon! I promise!

Okay, here is the next chapter. I really didn't look over it. I'm going to do that tomorrow after my classes. But, if you can understand it, then that should be good enough. But, I'm still going to look over it.

The song that is sung is called "Only Hope" sung by Mandy Moore from some movie. I forgot the name of it. I know she was playing the preist's daughter, has a desease, got married and died. The boy she married was struggling between popularity (his friends) and this girl. Shoot...I can vision and remember it, but I can't recall the name of it. She sang this song to him, at their senior play.

Other music I listened to was "Pirates of the Caribbean" Soundtrack, and "The Passion" Soundtrack.

This is a 11 page story (from microsoft word). So, I hope you guys enjoy it, and let me know what you think about it. I deffinitly know what I'm going to write in the next two chapters. So, they should be up in a matter of 2 weeks at most. I might post the next one this sunday.

Happy reading! =)

Chapter XII

My Only Hope

Millions of people watched the battle world wide. Many of them screamed in horror, many of them hurried to find a place to hide in case the battle makes it to them, and a few grabbed their guns, stepped out of their house, and stood there as if they were protecting their family.

The world leaders didnt do any of the above; however, they were ordering their fleets and armies to go to Shizo. Could it be because they wanted to help Shizo, or is it because they are creating a barrier around it so the battle wont make it to the states, countries, or island nations? Whatever it was, it really didnt do much help to Shizo.

In Shizo, the citizens of Northern, Southern, and Eastern Shizo watched the sphere monitor under the dark, deadly looking, cloudy sky. Most of them were crowded near the capital buildings, and watched the large sphere monitor. They watched in horror as their own kind were being shredded apart; one by one, and limb by limb. This, they would call, would be the end of the world for them.

Will this battle spread across the nation? Questioned Emma, the broadcasting reporter. Ladies and gentlemen, I fear it might. Then she paused as some one quickly ran up to her, and whispered in her left ear.

Oh my, she said in return to the statement. Ladies and gentlemen. I just received word that the Royals are nowhere in sight. Last they were seen in the Beville Senate Building, and we retrieved a clip from the meeting. She paused for a second as she shuffled up her papers nervously.

She cleared her throat, and tried to look calm, but in reality, no one isnt calm in a war. Lets show the cl.....

Suddenly the screen blacked out. The people screamed once more. Mothers holding on to their children, the fathers holding on to their wives and kids. Then, out of the blue, the screens turned on, and showed a pair of glowing, fire, dark red eyes. They screamed once more as they heard an echoing laugh that sounded if two people were laughing at the same time.

* * * *

Maroon, Lady Tonya, and Zack were watching the news and later the red eyes while Miguel was trying to figure out how to get rid of the opposing armys defenses. The three mouths were opened wide as the red eyes appeared.

What could you think they might be? Asked Maroon as she laid straight back into her eggshell-like floating chair. It sure isnt one of ours.
Miguel answered, Whatever it is, it isnt on our side. But for right now we have more important things to do. Like, trying to rid of the Evil Realms Army for starters.

The three dispersed and began looking for more information about the army, but suddenly, they were distracted when Univee rushed into the room. She looked upset and worried, and felt so hopeless and unuseful because of her pregnancy.

Univee, said Lady Tonya as she jumped out of her seat, and walked as fast as she could to Univee. Its okay hunny, everything will be fine.

Univee hung her head low to the ground, her legs trembled, No. Everything is not all right!

Maroon and Zack turned their seats around so they can face Univee, as when Lady Tonya petted her on the neck for comfort, Why? You saw a vision?

Univee, a psychic honker, answered, Something terrible is going to happen to them! I can feel it!

Like what? she paused, Please tell us so we can warn them.

Meanwhile, outside the palace, something odd and strange occurred. The air smelled like dead carcasses, the wind felt chilly and shifted directions, the water looked still, and the screams toned down a bit. There wasnt much left for the orcs to kill.

Mateo felt something weird. He felt as if he was being watched. Quickly, he turned his head left and right to see if there was anything there, but there wasnt. Just a bunch of rubbish left from the Evil Realms Fleet.

Rawlly stopped her shooting for a minute, and looked up at the sky. She, too, felt the same thing. The feeling was more than just being watched, but more of a icy breath of death breathing down her neck. She had goose bumps from it, and from a person that has the ability of ice power, that was strange.

As for Farore, she too, can sense something wrong. As she was directing the people into the Spirit Temple, she moved a couple of steps away from the entrance, and walked halfway down the steps. She closed her eyes so she can get a vision of what was about to happen. All she could get was a large creature heading towards Beville.

Guys, please be careful, she said psychically, I feel that we are expecting something that is stronger than the orcs and zombies.

Meanwhile, Enrique was running down the deserted alleyways so no one can see him. He quickly took off the access jewelry that he had on, and some of his clothes so no one can recognize him as an emperor. The only thing he had one was his white ninja-like pants and boots. He even touched his necklaces crystal so it could disappear.

Right, he answered back to Farores concern.

Finally, he made it out of the alleyway, and into the Main Street undetected. He quickly hid behind a bunch of rubble, and looked over it from time to time to see if he can see Jewels and Jack. All he could find was a bunch of orcs. They were walking around with their weapons; hunting for their next pray.

Shit, he whispered to himself.

Then suddenly, he heard a women screaming for help. He looked over the wooden rubble and noticed six orcs chasing after Jewels and Jack. She was holding on to his hand, and he was trying to catch up with her, but they way she was pulling him, it looked like he was running a few inches off the ground.

Enrique quickly got out from behind the rubble, and screamed out to the orcs, Yo! Over here you fat frogs! Come get someone with meat on their bones! He slapped his six pack belly to show them that he does have some meat on him.

He got the orcs attention all right. All of them stopped in their tracks, glanced at him as if he was their next meal, and left Jewels and Jack. All of them growled as they ran to him as fast as they could.

Go! yell Enrique, Run to the Spirit Temple! Youll be safe there!

Jewels didnt budge. She grabbed a rock and threw it at one of the orcs. It didnt felt it. It was more interested in Enrique, than Jewels.

Come get me you green, slimy, cannibal! yelled Jewels. Im the one you should be after!

Jewels, Jack said frighten as he tugged on her arm, Lets go. I want to go. I dont want to die.

Jewels looked down at him, and whispered to him, Jack, listen to me. You have to run to the temple. Its not far from here.

But Im scared!

Enrique yelled once more as the orcs got closer to him, Jewels! Go! Now! Ill be fine!

Not to far from Jewels, Enrique, Jack, and the orcs, Honker appeared with Mrs. Buttercup, Adam, and Gwen on his back. He landed right next to Jewels and Jack. Without a word, he grabbed a hold of Jacks shirt as if he was a puppy, and nudged Jewels to follow him. She refused.

Go! yelled Enrique once more.

Then, Knight appeared out of nowhere. He, too, heard Enriques cry for Jewels to go, and he figured that he need an extra hand. Honker, on the other hand, was grateful that Knight was there. He was getting tired of carrying three people and a child in his mouth.

Knight didnt say a ward. He growled at Jewels, and made her jump on his back by hitting her in the back of her knees so she can fall to her knees, and then he moved his head right between her legs. Afterwards, he got up, and made her slide down his neck, and land on his back. Her legs were straight up in the air, and her back was up against his.

Together, Honker and Knight took off and headed to the Spirit Temple where they will meet up with Swan and Farore. As they got there, the unloaded their passengers, and Farore escorted them into the temple, and shut the door. Only Swan, Honker, and Knight stood outside the temple.

Meanwhile, Enrique had his hands full with the orcs. They were about a good distance away from him. So close, that they could toss something, and get a perfect hit; however, he didnt waste his time. He touched his lower neck with his pointer and middle finger. Then suddenly, his necklace appeared once more.

So, how well would you like it? he said as he ready himself in a ninja-like position, Well done? Or extra crispy?

The orcs stopped in their track as they just realized that they got themselves into a trap.

Enrique made his hands into a fist, and suddenly red flames appeared around them. He began to go after the orcs as they began to run for their lives. The first orc he used his nulblaze punch to get rid of it. With a few punches in the face, a kick in the knee, and a hammer punch on top of its head; he got rid of it within ten seconds.

Afterwards, he went after the two that were fleeting in the alleyway. He realized that he couldnt catch up with them, so he positioned himself as if he was throwing a firebomb in the Olympics. The large, fire, red, ball got bigger in his right hand. As it got big enough, he threw it right at the two and caused them to be burned alive.

Then he did the same for the other two that ran in the opposite direction. But this time, he threw two firebombs just to be on the safe side. So, that only left him with one more; however, it wasnt in sight. Enrique walked a few steps until he ended up in the middle of Main Street.

The rubble of what were homes, shops, street lamps, fountains, and trees let off bright, large, orange and red flames. The thick smoke covered of what was a perfect stoned paved street, the sky looked dark and cloudy, and all he could hear were the sounds of wood crackling in the fire.

He ventured out into the fire rubble to search for this other orc. What he shouldve done was to leave it alone and head to the temple, but he couldnt. It wasnt revenge for hunting Jewels and Jack, but it was more personal than that. What could it be? Only he would know.

Many secrets are locked away in his mind. Most of them he couldnt remember unless he has a visual, and some of them he couldnt remember if his life depended on it. But the secrete that he was keeping from Jewels, why was he keeping his own identity a secret? The accouter with her was suppose to be a one day thing, but something about that kiss lured his secret into the shadows where it will be locked away.

Maybe that one orc was a revenge for going after Jewels. Maybe his feelings for her grew stronger. Once she was a commoner with an attitude, and now a beauty in the mist of heaven. He refused to think of it as a revenge, but he was only telling a lie to himself. He loved Jewels, and will do anything to keep her safe. Even if it was to kill that last orc and to keep his identity a secret.

As he continued to walk slowly down the street, he watched carefully to see if the orc will appear out of nowhere, but no luck. A couple more steps later, he stepped on something hard. He looked down, and noticed a young women around in her teens. Her arms were ripped off her body, her legs half eaten, and her eyes and mouth wide opened.

It caused Enrique to step back and quiver. He couldnt help it but to start whimpering like a child. The fact that a innocent human being was killed because his doing. If he wouldve stopped the war earlier, by doing something, this poor lady wouldnt have died.

Out from the smoke, Honker appeared behind Enrique. He stopped right next to him, and he too, looked down at the motionless body. There was nothing that we couldve done to help them, Enrique, he said in a comforting tone.

She shouldnt have died like this. I mean, no one shouldnt die like this. Ever, stated Enrique as he tried to hold back his emotions.

I know, he replied, But what does matter are those that are still alive.

Enrique looked at Honker, and tried to crack a smile, but he couldnt; however, he replied, Right.

He knelt down on one knee so he can pay his respects to the lady and to the people that died. His head lowered, his left arm on his knee, and the other one over his heart. May they rest in peace, and are sent to a place where they wont face such hatred again.

Honker didnt say anything. He just watched Enrique paying his respects, and getting up from the bloody, dirty, street. Later, the two headed slowly through the fire rubbish to find the last orc.

It wasnt long until they found their victim. Running with the smoke, and maneuvering through the rubbish, the orc kept looking back to see if Enrique was getting nearer. As it spotted them, it ran as fast as it could.

Honker and Enrique moved a little bit faster so they wouldnt loose it. Then suddenly, they heard a low, loud roar of what sounded like a tigers roar. Enrique and Honker stopped in their tracks, and watched as the orc ran toward their direction. It was frightened, and, what seemed like, running for its life.

Suddenly, as it got closer to the two, a huge mutated beast like head with large, bloody, hairy antlers appeared from above, and swallowed the orc whole. They watched as the feet were kicking from the mouth, the arms waving, and screams getting louder and louder, and white one bite, the screaming stopped, and the biggest-tailed deer swallowed the orc whole like an anaconda.

Oh god, Enrique said as he was too frightened to even move, Is that? Is that a...a...

Honker nodded, and his body quivered as he raspy voice replied, Yup. A biggest-tailed deer.

The mutated deer heard them, growled, and with that, the two started running like cowards just to save their own skin. The b.t.d tossed the rubble aside as if it was nothing, but to Enrique and Honker, it drawn him closer to them. It flapped it wings a couple of times just to get its speed increased, and Honker kept pushing Enrique so he can move faster.

As the b.t.d. go closer to them, and tried taking a couple of bites from Honkers tail, three, bright, ice blue, glowing arrows appeared from the smoke, and hit the deer directly in its ears, and caused it to stop. The b.t.d. tried getting them out by using its hind legs like a dog, but they were really in them.

Enrique and Honker stopped to watch as the arrows started to freeze its ears like frost bite. And then they heard a women screaming in an American southern accent, Are you guys okay?

Enrique and Honker turned around and watched as Rawlly came running out of the thick smog with her bow and arrow, Mateo following behind her, and Farore after him. The three caught up to the two, and Enrique stated back, As usual, Rawlly. Right on time.

Rawlly smiled back, and Mateo simply said as he grabbed his two daggers and positioned himself for battle, I think its time to hunt ourselves a buck. Dont ya think?

Enrique and Honker turned around once more, and watched as the icy ears thawed from the fire, and the deer regaining health back. I guess we have no choice but to fight it, stated Enrique.

Together, they ready themselves for battle. Rawlly grabbed her last arrow from behind her and aimed it right at the deer. The arrow glittered and glowed ever-so-brightly. She pulled the tight string back, and said, Ready to pierce this arrow through its dark heart.

Mateo twirled his silver and blue daggers like drumsticks, and positioned himself for battle. Hes knees were slightly bent, his cape flying against the wind, and his body moving side to side as if he dancing in tempo. Im going to slice your body into fourteen pieces and bury them. Just like what Seth did to Osiris in ancient times.

Farore took out a small staff from her side, and tossed it in the air. The golden staff changed from a footer to a eight foot staff with a large white and yellow crystal on top. White feathers moved around it as if the crystal was the sun, and the white feathers were the planets. No one cant stop the power of psychic.

Then Enrique lowered his head and widen his arms as if he was praying. White fireballs appeared from the ground, and surrounded his body. Then he raised his right arm in the air, and suddenly a large pointed rock appeared in front of his with a large crystal sword that he used in the Senate Building. He jumped on top of it, and yanked it out like King Arthur.

When he pulled it out, his necklace crystal glowed and so did his sword. He twirled the sword in front of him, and jumped off the rock. When he landed, he positioned himself like a fencer would position itself to its opposite.

The sword of light shall determine your fate, he stated when Farore, Rawlly, and Mateo ran up to him.

Honker, who landed on top of the large rock that Enrique created, yelled out to everyone, Attack!

Farores eyes glowed bright white as she got into the beasts mind. The best stopped moving, but it twitched as it tried to get out of the trans. That gave Rawlly a chance to shoot the arrow, and she did. As she let go of it, the arrow flew at the speed of light, and leaving behind a ray of ice blue light. She got a perfect; into its left eye.

Mateo ran up to the beast as it was yelling in pain, and sliced each of its muscular legs. Once by one the beast fell to the ground, and tried to get up, but it was no use. Finally, the best was on all four legs.

Okay Enrique! yelled Mateo as he finished slicing the front right leg. Its all you!

Enrique nodded, and ran up to the beast. The beast was a bit away from him, so that gave him enough room to jump into the air, to do a one hand summersault, and a leap onto its head. When he landed on top of the beasts head, he raised the sword into the air.

The sword gathered energy particles from every living or dead being around the area. It glowed brightly as each particle entered inside it. From far away, Jewels, Jack, Adam, Gwen, and a few other people watched this from the temples steps. They were flabbergasted to see this, and hoped that this could stop the battle.

It was too far away for Jewels to recognize who it was, but she folded her hands and prayed, Dear lord, please let this end the battle, and to protect the one that I am worried about the most; John. Please, wherever he is, please watch him.

Enrique smiled, and screamed out, This is for the innocent people that died at the feet of the Evil Realm! Light Thrust!

He plunged the sword, with all his strength, into the beasts head. The beast screamed out once more, and began to violently shake as the light particles ran through its blood stream. Enrique jumped off with the sword in his hand, and watched with the others, as the beast looked up at the sky, and screamed once more. A huge ray of white light shot out of its mouth and into the deadly cloudy sky.

To everyone, it was fireworks. It was the signal that the battle has ended. They cheered, clapped, cried, and hugged anyone near them. It was a glorious moment for them.

Enrique and the others sighed in relief. They gathered around each other and hugged in a circle. But something unexpected happen. Honker roared to get everyones attention. They disbanded, and looked back. The beast wasnt over yet.

It had an ounce of life left in it. The veins were huge as if they were injected by some poison. It was walking on its knees, its wings flapped violently as if it was trying to get off the ground, and the one eye it had left, squinted at the one, and only, Enrique.

He didnt have the chance to attack the beast. Already the beast grabbed Enrique by the arm, and threw him to the temple where he landed in the middle of the steps. He lost his sword while he was in flight, and it landed in a alleyway; inside a dumpster.

He landed on his back, and his head landed at the corner of the steps. Jewels watched the whole thing, and rushed to him. She realized it was John, and started crying, and yelling for people to get anything to wrap his wombs to stop his bleeding.

As for Farore, Rawlly, and Mateo, they ran away as fast as they could away from the beast before they get launched into the sky, and Honker took flight to where Enrique was at. But the beast was still gaining up to the three, but suddenly something happened.

The three heard a chocking noise, and that was it. The stopped, and turn to look and see if the beast was still chasing him, but it wasnt. It was lying dead on the ground with its head cut off. Strange as it was, and curious as it was, they wanted to check it out and to see whom did it, but what concerned them the most was if Enrique made the landing alive. So, together they headed as fast as they could to the temple.

When they made it to the temple, they noticed Enrique trying to breath. Kneeling right behind him was Jewels in tears. She was putting pressure on his chest to stop the bleeding, but not too much pressure because he was having a hard time bleeding.

Mrs. Buttercup was hugging the three children as they were crying. The people around him, but at a good distance away from him, were praying for him. As for Maria and Swan, the two were escorting Farore, Honker, Mateo, and Rawlly from the bottom of the steps and to where Enrique was at.

It took them a minute to get to where he was. They had to climb so many steps, and to push people from aside. When they made it to him, Rawlly gasped and began to cry on Mateos shoulder. He hugged her, and looked away as he began to get teary, but wanted to show he was strong so he wont make Rawlly cry even more.

Farore kneeled down on the other side of him, and grabbed his left arm. Jewels is it? she questioned her.

Jewels looked up and tried to answer, Yes, your majesty.

There is no need for formalities, she said again with a smile. Though, Im sure John would like to hear you sing.

Jewels looked at Farore as she smiled at her, I...I cant.

Sure you can, Farore comforted her, and It may help him. Then she lightly touched her arm, I have faith in you.

Jewels held tight to Enriques other arm. She cleared her throat, and tried to start something, but couldnt. She was too upset to sing, but the words It may help him and I have faith in you kept repeating in her head. She took a deep breath, and exhaled so she can calm down.

Farore smiled as she watched Jewels opening her eyes, and looked at Enrique with love and care. She nod to Jewels to start, and so she did:

There's a song that's inside of my soul.
Its the one that I've tried to write over and over again.
Im awake in the infinite cold.
But you sing to me over and over again.

She grabbed Enriques hand with both of hers, and held on to the comfortably. Hoping that could help. But, not only she was helping him, she was helping the other people around her. It was her voice and lyrics that were comforting them.

Chorus:
So I lay my head back down
and I lift my hands and pray to be only yours
I pray to be only yours
I know now you're my only hope

Honker, Maria, Knight, and Swan took flight on the top of the temple, and watched from up there. Up above them, the sky was clearing up, and the stars started to show. They glittered ever so brightly, and the sky was so clear that everyone can see the milky way.

Sing to me the song of the stars
of your galaxy dancing and laughing and laughing again.
When it feels like my dreams are so far
sing to me of the plans that you have for me over again.

She looked directly at Enrique with loving eyes. Slowly he was making recovery, but not enough to keep him alive. So, she closed her eyes and imaged the two dancing in a heavenly realm. Both of them dancing happily together. She as wearing a beautiful creamy gown, and he was wearing a black and white tux.

Chorus

The people watching her singing, they were lured into it, and felt the happiness within it. It gave them hope for their future, what they can do to build a better city, and the singing and song helped them to overcome the fear of death and opened their hearts to a new life. But for Jewels, she was only singing it to John.

I give you my destiny
Im giving you all of me
I want your symphony
singing in all that I am
at the top of my lungs I'm giving it

She sung with all her might. Her voice carried out throughout -- what was left of Beville -- so that everyone can listen to her. The voice healed everyones empty hearts. As for Enrique, he wasnt having a hard time breathing, but he was still weak.

So I lay my head back down
and I lift my hands and pray to be only yours
I pray to be only yours
I know now you're my only hope

Enrique sang that last part when he woke up. Farore, Jewels, the kids, Mateo, Rawlly, and Honker and the gang were all happy that he was feeling a tad better. How he got better was a mystery. Some say it was Jewels voice, some say it was Farore channeling her energy into him, but to Enrique and Jewels, it was the love that they had for each other.

Glad to see you back! That was a nice thrilling chapter. You provide lots of great detail as far as setting - it didn't feel like you'd been gone for a month and a half. My favorite part was the red eyes and laugh broadcasting over the screens. Creepy!

It's a bit rough, and some parts felt kind of rushed. The usual: verb tense agreement and evil homophones. Also watch Enrique's "wombs." You could describe the biggest-tailed deer a lot more. I was thinking giant deer, then find out it has wings too. Let Honker reveal the animal's identity. You build up more suspense that way. Also (I know I'm throwing a lot your way, sorry), don't abbreviate it b.t.d., even though it's tempting. Part of the challenge of the story is to figure out how to refer to something without getting too repetitive. Break out that Thesaurus or Flip Dictionary!

I liked Jewels' song healing Enrique at the end of the chapter. :love2: Romance is always good. I look forward to the next chapter.

Glad you liked the defs Tut! There's plenty more where those came from.

Ah, great to see you once again, Master Tut. I have really missed this story for the time of your absence, but great, you are BACK again!

Your story can only forward with each chapter getting more riveting. The lastest chapter was one of the ultimate action. Some parts did contain some well-deserved humour such as Enrique showing his six-pack to the orcs and their stubborness. The deer was also cool, but the battle with it was too brief, IMO. I also agree with S.M.B. about the Deer's description. Yet, I find the weapons of the characters most intriguing and for a while, I thought this was the concluding chapter.

The ending of the chapter was done very well, possibly because I played the song while reading the lyrics, but it was so well done that I felt the sensation to cry.

I expect that the concluding chapter will be one of joy and victory after a vicious battle. I know you will end this part of your series very well.

Good luck!

P.S. I believe you were refering to A Walk to Remember. Althought I did not watch it, I heard it was an epic. I shall read that book next.
