RPG NaNoWriMo 2011!

Hello RPG!

So as you may know, National Novel Writing Month is coming up very soon. I thought "hey, I'd love to take part in this, but there's no way I have time to do it on my own..."

I had a novel idea (pun totally intended).

Lets see if we can reach 50,000 words collectively, in all different RPGs, in the month of November :D

Here's the rules/guidelines:
- The show begins at Midnight GMT on the 1st of November and ends at 23:59 GMT on the 30th of November (cos my timezone rules all). Any posts submitted before or after this time will not be counted.
- You must post a link to your post in this topic, along with a word count. This will be added to the total at the end of each week.
- Only RPG posts will be counted. No posts from lounge topics, sign ups or OOC chatter can count towards word count.
- If you are unable to get a word count, I will check it for you. But it is preferred if everyone can do it themselves.
- Don't feel that you have to write massive uber posts all the time! Every word counts!
- You don't have to participate, I guess... But it'll be fun :D

There may even be some little rewards at the end for whoever writes the most words. But don't get all competitive! It's for fun.

Step One: Look for threads with the words "Sign ups" in the title. Read through the plots in the first post and decide on one you'd quite like to join.
Step Two: Use the character sheet in the first post to create a character for the RPG. Post it in the sign up topic.
Step Three: Wait to be approved by Game Master (person who started the thing)
Step Four: Go to RPG Thread (normally having the word STARTS in the title) and post in character in there. Or if it's not started yet, you wait :)

And Becki, thanks for the nice, clear low-down. I've always wondered how it all works. It sounds quite fun and creative - although I know I'll never have time to be active in it (trying to write my own fanfic-that-will-seemingly-never-end is a rare opportunity as it is). But if I end up procrastinating on my thesis after LTL is done, I might just pop in for a visit! :) How long to you have to commit to an RPG for?

Basically you post when you can. RPG isn't as fast paced as it once was, which doesn't have to be a bad thing. Nowadays we are all mostly adults with jobs and lives so we don't have time for something that will get so many posts in a day you can't read enough to catch up and you get left behind XD

A good one for you might be the RPG Quickfire, its a fun, quick rpg to do when you want and leave off to return to later when you have to. Its also good in case you have writers block because you can make short posts that don't have to be srs bsns, and you are given a prompt by the person before you~! Definitaly give it a look, the genre and tone can change in the space of a single post so you can direct the flow of the story :)

So technically, if 3 of us post 500ish words a day, we will make it :D
