What toys did you have as a kid?

What toys did you want but never got?

One of my favourite toys was this bad boy:

This was the shit.

My favorite was probably the red bucket of Legos. I loved Legos. I wanted K'Nex when I got older but I never got it.

No wait, it was my Yellow Ranger doll (I called it "doll" because I treated it like one). I used to sleep with it. ^^;;

I had a Barbie phase. It lasted...about four years at most. I can't even remember why I got into it.

There was also the Hot Wheels phase. I was about twelve and it lasted a year.

I'm probably one of the few here that owned a Domino Rally set. One of the big ones that I had to assemble in the kitchen.

Mah literal nigga. I remember playing with that annoying loudass domino-dropper car more than the actual dominoes! :waycool:

EDIT: Best non-electronic toy ever, right here:

Heald, that was one of my favourite Lego castles as well. I also built some of my own. This is the newest structure, from as late as or as early as 2007 or something.

I didn't like to mix Lion Knights, Eagle Knights, Black Knights, Dragon Knights, too much but I still took some artistic freedom that time.

We had some of the same toys, Shonta. Lego was probably one of my favourite toys as a kid. Had K'Nex too but that was a brief phase compared to Lego. Also Power Rangers, Transformers, Ninja Turtles, Hot Wheels, and yeah, I had a Domino Rally set, too.

Oh man, I remember Legos. (The allure of Legos is, they're educational toys, but kids don't realize it.)

I had lots of toys that that required you to build things. Erector Sets, Tinkertoys, Lincoln Logs. All that stuff. They kind of struck a cord with me.

As far as Legos went, I had the King's Castle collection, and I also had some with a spaceship theme. I forget what they were called.

Legos & American Girl dolls topped my list, along with Breyer horses. I read every AG book I could find. I loved history as a kid and I credit AG for really getting me into it. :)

Is that thing a toy or a game?

I miss games that unfolded into huge gimmicky battle playsets. Like that one with like 100 pieces that turned into a massive medieval battlefield. I never had that one personally, but those kinds of games were so great.

POWER RANGERS TOYS FTW!

I was also partial to Transformers, but only the Beast Wars line.

Pogs were cool as well.

I DO! I DO! I DO! I remember I had a camp bus for the little people that that a board underneath the bus and what the people sat on would move so it looked like they were bouncing. It was a simple yet neat idea to do that.

I am also very much into Barbie and Bratz dolls (which is unusual since most people only like one or the other), the original and second generations of My Little Pony toys, Pokemon toys, and Bakugan. I also LOVE the two older versions of Furby but the new ones they are currently selling with the LED eyes are AWFUL if you ask me! I hate how it looks now and I always felt that the eyes put the whole cuteness factor together and made it seem lifelike. I can't stand to look at the new Furby. While I think its not such a bad concept to have digital eyes to give the Furby more personality and an app that interacts with it is a great idea, I feel they could have at least gave the screens some color or used some sort of other digital technology for it.

You know, I'm pretty sure that my old original Castle Greyskull is still in my parents' attic somewhere...

YES. That was it! Mom was scared that my brother would swallow the cars so she hid it, but we don't know where the toolbox disappeared to.

Micro Machines were popular across da pond? Awesome. I gotta dig up some more pics.

Let's see...

Transformers (Generation 1)
Go-Bots
Thundercats
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles
G.I. Joe
Marvel Super Heroes (X-Men, Spidey, etc)
Knight Rider
Centurions
Voltron
Star Wars
Lego (Space)
M.U.S.C.L.E.
Capsela
Lite Brite

Nice spread.

Speaking of Transformers, I know everyone loves/loved the standard vehicular ones, but what about the animal ones from... what was that show? Beast Wars? I dunno, it was on the WB before school alongside Pokemon when I was in grade school. I had like 20 of them in a backpack at one point. My favorites were these two sets of three each. The Autobot side was an elephant, cheetah, and an eagle; the Predicon side was a cicada, a lobster, and a stag beetle. They were cool because they didn't just individual transform - they also COMBINED into huge triple robots if you had the instructions and they fired missiles and shit.

...Those were pretty great. And Tarantulas. He was cool, too because he had fold-out wheels. Giant spider with cycle wheels, man!

I was never a Lego fan. I loved my sisters My Little Ponies. I remember plenty of Tonka toys and i had a huge remote controlled toy. Of course i had my dinkies (small cars) and transformers. Had all sorts of Teenage Ninja Mutant Turtle toys. I loved my wrestling dolls and collected wrestling cards. Loved my guns too.

I don't remember any toys I really wanted that I was not allowed or didn't get. I guess my parents never wired us that way. We were never spoilt but nor did we go without. But getting toys was something special and not something you expected. I am always reminded with these threads to what extent Americans (but also Europe) that participate in these forums (may not be so an issue today with internet being so universal now) parents had far higher incomes than my parents or that of most New Zealanders.

I might be dating myself here, but I had a LOT of Fisher Price toys growing up. From a castle, to a farm, and everything in between--I was totally into this toy
Then as I got older, I was more into the Barbies, and for a few years, that and Star Wars was the big thing for me.

I really didn't want any toys that I couldn't have. My parents were cool and I usually got what I wanted, or worked for what I wanted ;)

I have a favorite toy that is lost now forever and for the life of me I can't find a trace of it on the internet. I would love it if someone could find it for me!

Its probably post-1992, its a plush dog that looks like a cocker spaniel, laying flat on its belly with its legs out to the sides, it was made to be detachable from an all blue thing on wheels shaped like this:
http://thespawnshop.files.wordpress.com/2011/03/1729619642_bf2f9ecdb5.jpg

but everytime you wheeled it it made the dog's front body move up and made a yip sound. They came in two different colors, brown and white and dark brown and white, and I called mine Scamp, so I thought that was the name of the toy but I can't find it anywhere :( I so want to solve this mystery lol

I know some of you are good at searching (Blade) and like a good challenge (Blade) so if anyone can find it (Blade....or anyone lol) I would crown you King of Awesome lol
