My Crystal Version won't work

I have this Pokemon Crystal that used to work fine, then suddenly it started to tweak out then one day it just didn't work. I just set it aside now i can't figure out what to do. Can anyone provide some insight on my problem?

How exactly does it not work? Does the game not run at all? Like, you can't even reach the title screen?
