Hail!

How is everyone? I was wondering who here has a Twitter account? I was thinking we could all exchange twitter accounts to see what people have been up to and whatnot. I have one here:

http://www.twitter.com/cferra1227

I couldn't pick "Cferra" because someone already had it. The guy tried to follow me as some fans of mine tweeted him thinking it was me. LOL Hilarity did ensue. It's just as well. I just post my twitter in vids and on my site so people can follow. And it's worked out well.

So, who here has taken the plunge in getting into Twitter?

I use Twitter as well.

https://twitter.com/DivineAll

I don't use it to talk to other people often though. I mostly use it to complain about my life for a small bit, talk to various TGWTG peeps on Twitter, or to riff and rant and what I'm currently watching on Netflix right now.

In this case... it's Power Rangers Operation Overdrive that's taking up the majority of my Tweets at the moment. Needless to say, I can already see why this season is considered the worst of the Power Rangers seasons.

I don't get twitter. I look at twitter pages, and I just don't follow what's supposed to be going on.

Facebook forever.

No, no, no. It was bad enough when you people started adding me on MSN Messenger, then I had to download AIM to take part in ummmm, then some of you freaks started adding me on Facebook. No, no more. I draw the line.

I don't really 'tweet' per se anyway, although I have a Twitter account. Occasionally I'll retweet something, even less occasionally I'll post some anti-socialism comment to wind up the lefties on Twitter. I mainly use it as an aggregate news feed for various blogs, sites and whatever.

I've never used Twitter.

What's a Twitter?

But seriously, as a Facebook user, to me Twitter just seems like a stripped down version of Facebook, so I never really saw the point of it.

I used to have Twitter. I would strictly post one-liners and even developed a bit of a following, but my obsessive tendencies took it a little far. I reached the point where I was spending my every waking moment devising witty Tweets and spazzing over my Favstar page, so I gave it up. It was a good decision.

I've even had my tweets shown on Q and A which is shown internationally.

I don't have a Twitter. It basically seems like a way to just say EVERYTHING you want. Who even cares? And I don't even get what a hash(tag) is.

Fucking kids and their technology from the future.

Twitter is for idiots and Instagram is for idiots who can't read.

Hashtags are a thing that people use on Twitter and attempt to use on Facebook and other sites.

The reason myself and others have a twitter is so people can follow updates of people who produce content online such as videos and such so they wouldn't have to be added to personal Facebook pages. I don't add fans to my personal facebook. There are some exceptions since I am friends with a few. But, they're welcome to follow me on Twitter to see what stuff I am making that week. Usually it's a video or a comic.

That's the only reason I see of having a twitter. It's really to interact with fans or talk to other producers/friends. There's a Channel Awesome and TGWTG twitter that lists what videos a producer has released or news about the company. A good friend of mine runs the TGWTG twitter and she does the updates whenever Holly, the site admin, updates the site.

A hashtag is something used to get something to trend on twitter. When TGWTG has a movie out, people hashtag the movie and it trends almost instantly because of the fans. Funny story. The last TGWTG movie was To Boldly Flee. TGWTG fans and contributors use #ToBoldlyFlee as a hashtag to get it to trend. A TON of people did it. What's funnier is that a bunch of religious fanatics ALSO tweeted the hashtag thinking it was something else. To Boldly Flee was a SciFi based movie by the Walkers and everyone laughed at the insanity of people who posted that. Still, the hashtag got trended in North America and in the UK for a bit.

Also, twitter is good when you want to have your stuff noticed online. As are facebook pages and groups.

Hey, look. On my sig. A Twitter link.

I like having Twitter because there's a different group of folks than on my Facebook. Having grown up in a small town (and big family and big church family, etc.), I know quite a few people personally, and I find Facebook as great for keeping in touch with "real" people. That said, Twitter is my source for people who are more in tune with what I am interested in, as well as keeping track of online media (webcomics, sports sites, etc.) and personalities whom I find funny/interesting (Steve Martin, Stephen Fry, etc.). They give me different groups of people, and I like it that way.

you also have to use hashtags on instagram, which I like better than twitter. I just follow famous people on twitter for the most part, and rarely even log in

I have Facebook that I keep in touch with a small handful of folks--one from here, a former co-worker, a pen pal (when that was cool and before the internet really took off), and a few friends I made when I participated in a group activity.
I actually had more people on there, but got tired of all the religious messages, and my co-workers I HAD on there used it as a spy tool at my job, so I had to finally say NO MORE and unfriend most of the people there.

Now I like Twitter and it helps me keep up with all the trends and happenings of my friends and the people I follow. And I use the hashtags if I want to get my point across.

Like I've heard several times: Facebook is for those you know, Twitter is for those you don't know and like.
And I would stay away from Tumblr. That place literally can suck the soul out of you, if you let it. :P

I set up a Twitter account back in January. Mainly to comment The Presidential Election of Finland. Now I do practically nothing with it.
