View Full Version : Is Amazon treating Nintendo unfairly?

Kotaku broke the story this morning so I decided to do some research, and as of this moment on April 2nd, it seems that Amazon still has "it" up. What is it? Well when you go to the 3DS, you get a top bar referring you to a list of Sony PSP/Vita bundles that "you should consider". Yet when you look up a Sony Vita product, it does not give the same consideration for the 3DS.

Link to Amazon 3DS Black Page (http://www.amazon.com/Nintendo-3DS-Cosmo-Black/dp/B002I096AA/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1364947869&sr=8-1&keywords=Nintendo+3DS)

Link to Amazon Vita page (http://www.amazon.com/PlayStation-Vita-WiFi/dp/B003O6EATE/ref=sr_1_2?s=videogames&ie=UTF8&qid=1364947901&sr=1-2&keywords=Sony+Vita)

It is also interesting to note that on the Wii U page, Amazon has considerations listed for X Box 360 and PS3 consoles, but the same considerations do not appear on the X Box 360 or PS3 pages.

Amazon link to Deluxe Wii U (http://www.amazon.com/Nintendo-Wii-Console-Black-Deluxe-U/dp/B009AGXH64/ref=sr_1_1?s=videogames&ie=UTF8&qid=1364948128&sr=1-1&keywords=nintendo+wii+u)

Amazon Link to X Box 360 bundle (http://www.amazon.com/Xbox-360-250GB-Holiday-Value-Bundle/dp/B0096KEMUY/ref=pd_pgh_B009AGXH64_B0096KEMUY?pf_rd_p=149276968 2&pf_rd_s=cp-merchandising-top&pf_rd_t=201&pf_rd_i=B009AGXH64&pf_rd_m=ATVPDKIKX0DER&pf_rd_r=0383RDWAV2FJP5NGSYZ4)

Amazon Link to PS3 Family bundle (http://www.amazon.com/Amazon-Exclusive-Family-Entertainment-PlayStation-3/dp/B009DYE3JI/ref=pd_pgh_B009AGXH64_B009DYE3JI?pf_rd_p=149276968 2&pf_rd_s=cp-merchandising-top&pf_rd_t=201&pf_rd_i=B009AGXH64&pf_rd_m=ATVPDKIKX0DER&pf_rd_r=0383RDWAV2FJP5NGSYZ4)

So is this done by accident? Or is someone at Amazon actually have it in for Nintendo and wish to steer competition to it's competitors?

In short... Maybe just in America.

I've done all those searches on the UK site, none of them mention other consoles or products with the exception of the Slim PS3 advertising the future release of the PS4, and the Xbox 360 bundle advertising Love Film (run by Amazon, but available on Xbox).

People seem to be forgetting about Nintendo here and there. This may be due to that.

I miss times when games were referred to as 'Nintendo' or 'Sega', even in Finland. 'Pleikkari', which comes from Playstation, sounds just lame. Although I use it too. But then again, to say it raw and rough, calling a console with an incorrect name again and again just sounds almost like an abomination to me. From the viewpoint of both consoles involved.
