TPM Meetup 2013!

So Brandy and I have been bouncing the idea back and forth of continuing the sorta-kind-annual tradition of having a TPM meetup! We don't have anything specific planned right now, but based on past years, it'll most likely be in Northern Virginia, and sometime during the late summer or early fall. I'm posting this thread to see if anyone would be interested and if you have any other ideas.

The last two meetups here were awesome, and if you've never been to one, I'd definitely recommend coming and hanging out with us! If you have already been to one, I don't think I have to recommend anything, you already know it's going to be great.:P

I'm planning to visit the USA for AnthroCon, so I'll be in Pittsburgh from the 3rd till the 9th of July. I'm afraid that's as close as I can go to where you are.

I'm failry new to the country and I don't know much about travels and such. However, PA is just north of Virginia, so who knows... maybe planning something would not be so difficult. :)

I wish I could be a part of one of these TPM meet-ups, but with my brother's health problems, I don't think it would allow me to meet any of you guys in person...would using Skype work here, guys? I'm curious to find out how many people here use Skype.

The word "furry" is so ambiguous that for some definitions I'm a furry and for others I'm not. Let's see...

I have never owned nor worn a fursuit and I'm not planning to, but I do sometimes wear a hat shaped as a fox head at AnthroCon and a few other special events. I don't find depictions of anthropomorphic characters attractive per se, but I do enjoy several shows/comics/pictures which feature them, and I have drawn a few (just like I have drawn many other things, but animals have always been my favorite drawing subjects). While I have occasionally roleplayed as an anthropomorphic fox (and sometimes call myself an all-purpose fox for reasons which would take another post to explain), that's all in fun and I definitely don't consider myself to be a non-human creature trapped in a human body. I do like animals a lot. I generally like images of animals in their original shapes a lot more than their anthropomorphic versions. And I dislike furry porn, but then again I dislike porn as a whole. And I'm AnthroCon staff.

So am I a furry or not? Use your own definition and decide.

Nope, its in the same city as before, but its slightly closer to my work :lol: also it is near the park so I don't feel like I live in a city, its actually close to nature which I love :)

The only potential problem with the 7th is that it's my dad's birthday. He's turning 52 this year, so it's not like we'll have anything big planned, so if that's the day that works best for everyone else, I'm fine with it. At least he'll get a "Happy Birthday" from me.:)

That day is a no-go for me as well. Going to a crab feast that day, with my girlfriend who doesn't eat crabs, lol, oh well, more for the rest of us then. Also going to the renaissance festival the 28th or 29th. Not sure what October looks like yet, but like I said, even if we have to push this back into the colder months, not a problem. We did a meetup in January in the snow before. :P
