If you live in or around New York City, Nintendo World is having a release party from 8pm to 1am on October 11th to celebrate the release of Pokemon X and Y. Check out Nintendo's official release statement below to find out more about the festivities:

On October 11th from 8 p.m. to 1 a.m. at Nintendo World in New York, Nintendo is hosting an exciting launch event to celebrate the release of the Pokémon X and Pokémon Y games! At the event, Pokémon fans will have the chance to play the games, participate in fun activities, and be among the first people in the country to purchase Pokémon X and Pokémon Y.
In addition to allowing attendees to pick up the games, the event will feature a Pokémon costume contest, a live DJ, Pokémon trivia, a gaming lounge with gameplay kiosks for Pokémon X and Pokémon Y, a booth for getting temporary Pokémon tattoos, and Pikachu costumed character appearances. Attendees will also be eligible for Pokémon giveaways while supplies last!
