View Full Version : Riolu Evolved Into Lucario ... at night?

I was just playing Pokemon Black 2 last night and my Riolu decided to evolve into Lucario... what gives Riolu??? You're supposed to evolve during the day (not that I'm complaining).

I'm pretty sure the time is set correctly on my game, but I'll double check when I get home from work.

In the meantime, has anyone else have this happen? Or is my game just not set to the correct time?

I don't know... Maybe that requirement was dropped in BW2? Was the sky dark in the game when it happened?

Um, what time was it when your Riolu evolved, Kevin?

Bulbapedia has a chart for the time of day relating to the season, as shown below:

For spring, morning is from 5:00 AM to 9:59 AM, afternoon is from 10:00 AM to 4:59 PM, evening is from 5:00 PM to 7:59 PM, and night is from 8:00 PM to 4:59 AM.
For summer, morning is from 4:00 AM to 8:59 AM, afternoon is from 9:00 AM to 6:59 PM, evening is from 7:00 PM to 8:59 PM, and night is from 9:00 PM to 3:59 AM.
For autumn, morning is from 6:00 AM to 9:59 AM, afternoon is from 10:00 AM to 5:59 PM, evening is from 6:00 PM to 7:59 PM, and night is from 8:00 PM to 5:59 AM.
And for winter, morning is from 7:00 AM to 10:59 AM, afternoon is from 11:00 AM to 4:59 PM, evening is from 5:00 PM to 6:59 PM, and night is from 7:00 PM to 6:59 AM.

With the way the time mechanics work in B/W/B2/W2, I'm presuming that Pokemon who evolve via high friendship in the daytime can evolve in the evening too...though I could be wrong.

Yeah, I remember running into that trying to evolve an Eevee into Umbreon back in Gen 4. Evening still counts as daytime, so you're not officially at night until it gets fully dark.

Yeah I guess it didn't seem dark when I was playing last night (after 10PM)... I thought the game followed real time though?

...after 10? Okay, that should definitely be night time, no matter what season (unless your DS's clock is off, given that's what has been used for time since Gen 4 instead of an in-game setting)

Checked my time... It was 12 hours off. Stupid military time.
