Friend Safari

So, I just caught a Charmeleon today, thanks to Ultimate Charizard.

It's thanks to the Friend Safari in Kiloude. Basically, how it works is that a type and list of 3 Pokemon of that type is generated from your Friend Code and anyone who has you registered as a friend on their game can go to your friend safari, and catch the three Pokemon associated with your friend code. This can be done even for friends who don't have X/Y, however the third pokemon will only start appearing if that person has the game and has beaten the Elite 4.

Since the pokemon list is decided based on the friend code, any person's list will be the same for anyone who's friends with that person. So, for example, since I found a Charmeleon in UC's friend safari, anyone else who's friends with him should find one as well.

With that, the main reason I started this thread is to list everyone's friend safari, so here are the ones I have so far:

Also I have no clue what's in my own FS, so that's one omission I'd like to take care of.

Well....that's odd. Haven't even SEEN a Doduo and I'm unfamiliar with Tranquil. I'm guessing it's based on whatever you've caught the most. If so then things start to make a little more sense. I've had both Pidgey and Fletchling in my party as filler on my early team. Then there's the fact Beedrill and Butterfree are both Bug/Flying. Finally I wound up with something called a Noibat via Wonder Trade which is Flying/Dragon (is my ignorance regarding being out of the loop for a gen showing yet? :P)

Anyway that's five Pokémon with Flying somewhere in their typing. Give me a little time however. Assuming that these typings can shift over time I might be Fire not too long from now since I've got four Fire types in my party/boxes (Litleo, Braixen, the promo Torchic and a Charmander off Wonder Trade). I'm also trying to get a Vulpix off GTS so don't be surprised to see a possible shift from me.

Nope it's fixed and basically random since it's determined by your friend code. If say, someone were able to decode it, we'd be able to have a site where someone could type in their friend code and see what's in their safari.

Ah ok. If it's tied to a friend code then perhaps deleting your Mii and friend card could potentially reset that. To be honest however considering how much of a pain in the ass it would be to enter everyone's info from the friend code topic again I'm not exactly willing to test it out :P

Kinda reminds me of how there was a clock reset function in the original Gold and Silver. Required a password that was randomly generated since it was based off your name, trainer ID number and CURRENT MONEY. Yeah....whoever decoded that one so that people could actually use the feature deserved major props.

Wanted to post this because I just wanted to throw out there that I ran into 12 Beautiflys in a row before finally finding out what her other Pokemon is. The odds of running into the same pokemon 12 times in a row in a 2-pokemon friend safari? 1/2048. Yeah. And running into the same thing just 2 more times than that is as likely as running into a shiny.

Edit: Just got some deja vu with Cferra's. Ran into 8 Nuzleafs before finally finding out that his other pokemon is Crawdaunt. I'm really unlucky, but I do this anyway, FOR SCIENCE POKEMON!

I don't believe that's accurate because I was talking to DL the other day about the Friend Safaris and he had mentioned that he had found Poison-type Pokemon for my area on his game. I do believe that it is different for each and every person and the friends that they add. Maybe get a confirmation with someone else who hunts in a Friend Safari for Gavin's area and see if he/she also manages to find Fire Pokemon or something different.

My safari is very varied. But, the weird thing is that only one of my friends has Fairy. I think that might be a rare type for the safari. As it is, I have:

The rarest for me seems to be steel and fairy. Weird.

EDIT: A friend of mine confirmed me that my third pokemon is actually Tyrogue. Not the best safari, but meh, at least there's a potential for HItmonlee, Hitmonchan and Hitmontop, right? :)

Maybe DL goofed? I've gotten a few people who have posted their third Pokemon in this thread and I've since gone on to confirm them on my game, so it's definitely consistent between different people.

However for the chances to increase, you must visit the friend safari of someone who is online (so not only hidden natures, but shiny increase too). However, this theory is still under testing so I was wondering if any of you guys wanted to try it out. I'll be online tonight and tomorrow after midday.

EDIT: OK, so I'm beginning to suspect that the rumors might be true. I just caught a shiny Quilladin after barely 15-20 wild encounters in Emerald_Gen.3's friend safari.

I dunno if the person has to be online. I've gotten two shinys in different safaris where the person was offline. Also, it seems that two pokemon safaris will also yield shinys. Just not ones with the hidden abilities.

Well, after getting all four of the 6th generation games, Gabi (Lady Vulpix) helped me figure out what the (partial) contents of my Friend Safari is, so...

My Friend Safari's type is the Ice type, and the first two Pokemon that can be found in it are Spheal and Beartic.

I'll let you guys know when I get to the Hall of Fame in X and/or Y...and again, if any of you want to add me, my FC is 0834-0499-9418. I've already added Gabi...I just wish I could explore some other Friend Safaris someday (the more variety, the better, because I love variety).

Thanks to KoT, I can now play my cartridge on both of my Nintendo 3DS systems. We figured out having two consoles gives you two Friend Safaris. The Friend Code for the secondary system is 0276-2159-0898 and the Friend Safari is the Ground Type. Oh yeah, and I named the Mii mjt2.

Didn't think I'd be revisiting this thread.
Anyway, recently started dabbling with the 3DS games again. Picked up a copy of Y that I found at my local retro game shop that was complete in box. Picked it up on a whim since some of the DS games are getting stupid expensive.
Seriously, have you guys seen the prices lately? For the DS I have Platinum, Soul Silver, Black, and White 2. Respectively, they are as follows for those games CIB (prices in USD$):

Platinum: $102
Soul Silver: $245 for the version with the Pokéwalker, $135 without it
Black: $80 (paid $70 for it CIB due to a damaged box with reproduction art, going to try to rectify that before the price gets outrageous)
White 2: $117

Anyway, enough of that tangent.

Character name on my Y file is Renai (yes, I'm using one of my old WoW names)
If someone wants another character for the Friend Safari, let me know and I'll try to have that file online so the friend can be properly registered.
