BANK IS HERE GUYS. SO MUCH EXCITE.

I've also got transporter too, but I was too excited.

You get either 10 Battle Points or 100 PokéMiles the first time you use bank. You can pick these up by pressing Pokemon Link on the start menu of X or Y. The second time you use bank once you've done that, you can get this:

http://i437.photobucket.com/albums/qq92/chobichibi/3AA7A5ED-ED52-4779-9E63-1BF2941ED49D_zps2h0caoxm.jpg (http://s437.photobucket.com/user/chobichibi/media/3AA7A5ED-ED52-4779-9E63-1BF2941ED49D_zps2h0caoxm.jpg.html)

OMGERD CUTE.

When using transporter, it takes a box at a time. You can't send one Pokemon at a time.

I love Bank :)

The question is... Do they start charging you automatically after the trial period, or do you have the option to remove it or just stop using it?

ChobiChibi

I'm pretty sure you have the option to stop, because it sort of gives the option to pay from the start. But it's Ł5 for the entire year (I don't know the equivalent), so it's not a lot.

IT HAS BEGUN.

...And I'm also now getting to find out which Pokemon I've received over GTS that weren't legit. First one, a level 100 Arceus with Pokerus. Can't say I'm surprised.

I've been informed from a friend (and then googled) that this isn't out in America yet! It was Europe, Australia and New Zealand!

Gutted North America.

If anyone wants some old mons, I'm happy to track some down in the meantime ^^

Shaymin is not amused.

Grrrr....been waiting for the bank for awhile now. Of course the only issue is transferring old stuff. I've got both a DS Lite/3DS XL along with Ruby, LG, Plat, SS and X.

Just kinda missing one very important bit in between SS and X...... ^_^()

Does anyone have the answer to that question?

^ That. When you start bank for the first time, it asks you to pay, but lets you download the trial ticket. It counts down how many days you have for free (it tells you somewhere obvious), so I expect that same screen will pop up when the trial expires, except this time asking for the money. It's not like any subscription service to take money from your account without permission to do so first, especially if it's never taken any before that. It may also depend if you have a credit/debit card connected to your Nintendo Network ID. I know I don't, that shit would be dangerous XD

I don't think you're going to get an immediate answer. As the first two people to get Bank on this forum (Tony and I) only got it a couple of days before everyone else, and those in Japan wouldn't have finished their 30 day trial either, you're not going to find anyone who will know right now. But my guess is that Nintendo will give you the option, cos they can't assume you're gonna want to keep it (although I can't see why you wouldn't want to).

Lady Vulpix
6th February 2014, 08:28 AM
Because Ł5 is about $100 for me, and I'm not likely to use it much, if at all, so I'm not sure of whether I will get it in the first place. I had to know in order to consider my options.

Thanks for your answer.

Wow... That is a lot O_o Have Nintendo confirmed that price?! Seems pretty unreasonable ><

I'll let you know what happens as soon as mine expires, then you can decide :) You can claim the 30 day free trial up until the 14th of March, mine will be done by then, so I'll let you know :)

It's worth the trial period, certainly. If you used the 30 days just to move stuff to your gen 6 game, it's defo worth it. But like I said, let me know if there's any from previous gens that you want, I'll try and track them down. And I can do dex-trades for legendaries if you want :)

Sorry if I seemed a little off with my response. Having a rough few days. I'll try and reign in any sharp remarks and get back to being chirpier ^^;

No problem, Becki. :)

I haven't checked anything with Nintendo, but they never have my country in mind, so I'd be really surprised if we got a low currency discount.

Thanks again.

Celebi is a nice gift, but I'd rather be getting something else than my thrid Celebi. Maybe one of the event legends I'm missing, like Shaymin. Yeah, I still don't have a Shaymin. I feel so ashaymed.

But getting my games ready for the transfer as we speak. Got some plans to throw some old starters up on Wonder Trade. You're welcome, world!

ChobiChibi
6th February 2014, 10:24 AM
The benefit of this Celebi is that it has good IVs. Mine's got max Sp Atk, Sp Def and Speed, so I got lucky :)

I'll dex-trade my Shaymin if you want, Jeff. Would rather like to keep it, I have fond memories of the day I received it XD

You should be more ashamed about that horrible pun :P
Anyway payday can't get here soon enough. I really need to pick up a Gen 5 game so I can get my Eevee army, my Platinum team and quite a few of my other favorites over to X :-/

^ That'll do.....

In all seriousness here you go Blade:

Pokémon Bank (http://www.nintendo.com/games/detail/6zMzdzWbupinGRvOZnN-NshrhuXzi4m7)

It's an online storage system that gets tied to your Nintendo Network ID. Up to 3,000 Pokémon can be stored allowing you to easily move and transfer boxes between multiple copies of X/Y. First month is free if you download and activate it before March 14th before it goes to a $5/year annual fee (extreme chump change when you consider what a typical MMO player, XBL Gold and PS+ members pay in a year). Essentially the storage/transferring is fairly similar to Pokémon Stadium on the N64.

Granted that in itself is a nice enough feature if you tend to restart the games frequently to get starters, multiple legendary Pokémon or go back to get other Pokémon that become locked behind a one time choice (such as Lee/Chan from the dojo in RBY). The main draw however is that the bank also comes with a separate transporter app that is compatible with the Gen 5 games (B/W, B2/W2). This will allow a one way transfer from Gen 5 to the bank for later transport to Gen 6. In other words while it will no doubt be time consuming if you happen to have working copies of the GBA games floating around along with an original DS or DS Lite you could transfer to Gen 4, move them to Gen 5 and then transport to the bank for use in Gen 6.

Apparently this is planned to be Nintendo's method of transfer moving forward so that later game/system generations don't render the older games and work put into them obsolete. In other words it's entirely possible that the Mudkip you got from Ruby in 2003 could potentially follow you to another game/system several years down the road.

I had two days left on my free pass and was too scared to find out what happens when it expires, so I renewed it today. The really awesome thing is, my new pass doesn't start immediately: it was added to the two days I had left. Classy move, Nintendo. I like it. :)

DarkestLight
4th March 2014, 05:44 PM
Now that I have 3 hours to myself, I'm transferring like a madman cause my pass expires on the 9th. If you don't renew it, then you have 5 days to remove your Pokemon off of Bank before they are deleted forever!

22 Boxes to go. And I think I have a spare Shaymin. Maybe. Gimme a day to see who is where, I'm just chucking PC's like curling pucks.

Deleted forever? Has that actually been confirmed by Nintendo? Seems like something that'd be very bad for business.
Look at MMO's. You could potentially be gone for YEARS and not paying for a subscription. Then when the urge to play strikes you can come back and barring changes to the game mechanics/systems pretty much everything will be there.
Case in point:
http://us.battle.net/wow/en/character/agamaggan/Wolfinhowler/simple
^ Ok....Brandy's character from WoW may not be the best example since I'm seeing she was actually last active on 2/13/14. My point remains however: that's a character that I myself know hasn't been active since about late 2008/early 2009 (barring any free promo game time Blizzard has given out to retired/inactive players that is)

Anyway until I hear or see a message directly from Nintendo regarding deletion of Pokémon if you go inactive I'm going to have to say no.

http://www.pokemonbank.com/en-gb/faq/ I believe that is Ninty right there :/

Time length is not specified..but the FAQ does state they will go away.

5 boxes left, OMG I'm TIRED OF SWTICHING Cards!

Well...that's some bullshit. Granted it's cheap enough for a year but still. Sub based and even F2P MMO's leave your character on the server forever. Let a Pokémon Bank sub lapse and you potentially lose your Pokémon?
Yeah.....not caring for that choice :-/

So you get moar pokemiles by stuffing your Bank full of mons- can you still exchange the miles you grind in Bank for BP?

Drago
24th May 2014, 09:14 AM
But you can choose to be rewarded with BP out of the gates vs. Poke miles, so wouldn't that suggest you're stuck with them?
