I was a full-fledged member of the Finnish Evangelical Lutheran church until I chose not to go to the confirmation school at the age of 14. As a small child, I did read the Bible a lot and still remember quite well what happens, in, say, the book of Daniel. But somewhere around the age of 13, I became interested in multiple different religions and that's why I refused to take the confirmation school. In Evangelical Lutheran Church, you have to had confirmation to get church wedding, which is one of the basic reasons why so many children are supposed to go to confirmation school.

Also, I resigned from the church itself for good when it became legal, that is after I filled 18 years. The tithe is not so high in Finland, but I did my decision because I want to live as a free thinker or something. If I find a nice woman who wants a church wedding, then I will surely join the church again and go to the confirmation school.
