watching season 23 and it has a certain charm that has been lacking.

they should make an episode where they return to australia but this time they go to a major australian city and homer can't fathom the drastic changes

yeah a lot of the most recent episodes have actual wit in their dialogue and aren't solely reliant on their comedy being found in the episode's circumstantial gimmick

but then some of the episodes are focused on like

falconry
competitive eating
google glass is a thing that exists

so that is unfavorable

(why is it even possible to post directly in an archive forum?)

my favourite episodes from season 25 were apparently "Yellow Subterfuge" and "Specs and the City"

apparently i am incapable of original thought

I hadn't seen a new episode in about seven or eight years because the dip in quality basically made the show unwatchable for me, but I saw the recent Lego episode for the hell of it. I was surprised (and maybe a little ashamed) that I actually enjoyed it? It was gimmicky as all hell and didn't come anywhere close to the charm of seasons 3-9, yeah, but it was at least entertaining enough.
