Question about hp

If i use hidden power: ground on a flying pokemon, will it not work? Because I have a bred a skarmory that I believe has Hp ground, and it it consistant with ground, but it affects flying foes. Will Hidden power ground affect flyers?

No, I don't think HP Ground is suppose to hit Flying Types. Are u sure that u have HP Ground and not some other type on Skarmory?

hmmm. Maybe I have something else. It was not very effective on water, grass, normal on normal/flying, normal and fighting, and super effective on rock/steel

HP Ground would do normal damage against Water types. Could it be HP Water?
