This video pretty much summarises my reaction to the news that Satoru Iwata passed away today, at age 55.

To you, Mr. Iwata, I say thank you. Thank you for the years of fun. Thank you for the wonderful Nintendo Directs. And thank you, of course, for that time you fought Reggie amidst a backdrop of dubstep. Rest in peace, good sir.

ありがとうございました、岩田さん!

R.I.P. As Jun'ichi Masuda said about him: "He was a man who understood Pokémon, and a great leader."

What unfortunate news. A great loss to the industry.

Sad news indeed. As a player/fan of two of the franchises he helped work on (Kirby and Earthbound), not to mention a player and fan of Pokemon, this news did hit me kinda hard.

RIP Mr. Iwata. You and your contributions won't be forgotten.

He will be sorely missed. I hope Nintendo makes an Amiibo of him (with profits going to charity).

Hey, guys, look on the bright side: At least it wasn't Miyamoto.

Yet.

I couldn't believe it until I saw kotaku and several other outlets post on it.

It's a HUGE loss for the gaming industry.
