View Full Version : VOTE FOR IDEAS

Hi those of you who have come down to look at this :D

So CT and I have been talking over some ideas of the kind of RPGs we could run, and I'd like some opinions please.

1) The traditional, long, plot and story focused RPG.
The usual standard format for RPGs. Personally I've got a massive fantasy boner atm, so we could probably come up with something along those lines. Obviously, anyone can run something else if they want to. And it might not end up as fantasy.

2) The short, boss fight focused, short term goal RPG.
So this is something I came up with. What I really loved about some RPGs that I've played is when there's been a boss fight of some description, and the characters have to meet goals to avoid being murdered. So I thought each person could have a "bank" of characters in a thread, in the RPG lounge, that are suitable for different situations. You can throw in any character you want at any point, and the GM will set certain goals along the way in order for you to defeat the enemy.
Obviously, if there was some really good plot points coming together, and character interactions, there's no reason why it couldn't span into a bigger RPG, with more plot involved. It could almost be like an ice breaker - I know I personally need some practice after being away for so long.
This doesn't have to be a boss fight either. Could be just short scenarios of something going down.

3) Both!/Either!
Select this option if both sound good to you.

4) Neither! I hate RPGs!
GTFO.

5) I've got a better idea!
Please share it :)

Personally, I like number 2 because I'm quite the busy bee and would like something shorter, but I'm up for anything, so I vote for Both/Either.

If you've got any questions, ask away.

Much love and hugs,
Your RPG Overlords <3

I voted for both but to be even more specific, I'd kinda like a Pokemon school-type RPG

Though I'm down for both, I think the short-goal RPG could be a serious goer. Lots of long-term RPGs come out of the gates with a full head of steam, only to go out in a puff of smoke before it gets very deep. If we focus on one small, intense RPG, it could act as a springboard towards rekindling people's interest.

Y'all know you've got my support either way! <3

*dragged out of the darkness by Becki* mghrgoerperg....

Have a rough idea for a shorter RPG that can expand into a larger one if it actually moves. Basically end up fighting (battling?) these sort of boss pokemon, and your team are sort of classes you can turn into.

That or I can make a super-hero one, everyone just fight each other.

Or a more fantasy one.

Sci-fi... could make an ALIEN rpg. xD

I'm not great with school RPGs, not gonna lie.

I'm game for anything, trying to see if I can get creative juices flowing again

I don't really like the idea of school RPGs either anymore, cos I'm a teacher. Reality has tainted my view of what school RPGs could be, because a lot of the kids I teach are little shits XD

College or something is fine. Older people learning is good.

I want a Sylveon <3

It's been far too long. We do need something decent running. You guys know my tastes so if we managed to get something along the lines of Dragon Ball, Slayers, Final Fantasy, RWBY, or Warcraft then I'd most likely be down.

Yay, Kirsten is alive!

I'm leaning more towards traditional myself, but history shows I can never keep up with an active RPG because sooner or later real life takes over.

The exceptions being:
-the D&D game I've been playing with my friends since 2009, because we meet once every 4 or 5 months, and
-Dragon Tamers (AC/CC), because each player can post at their own pace and the scenario updates about once a year.

Make an RPG with a theme that is somewhat familiar to me OR easy to adopt. I'll play. Anyways, my mental health support system will shift in autumn so I'm going to have a different attitude to using internet.

I'd delete my post so it doesn't look like I'm calling Mikachu a spambot...

But my postcount is precious to me.

Thanks, DragoKnight! The final day of Finnish Parliamentary Election 2019 is tomorrow, and nobody has driven me to the hospital again, so that's a good sign! (they did four years ago because I was too excited about 2015 Finnish Parliamentary Election)

My mental condition aside, ARE PEOPLE STILL UP TO THIS?
